03/11/08(Tue)20:05 No.1319081Hmm, we need to get all the fluff on units straight.
Guard Infantry - At first appearence, the soliders of the Eclipson guard appear no different from many guard units, clean, well organized men who will fight and die in the defense of their planet. However, they appear too be a bit too perfect at times, and often wear grins of pure euphoria, even as they blindly rush their foes. However, as soon as the sirens wail and the fog rolls in, this disguise comes apart. In truth, they are monsters, neither quite alive or quite dead soliders who bear their wounds of the chaos uprising. Most are mutilated, missing arms, legs, faces, and what remains is a bloody mix of rotting organ and replusive pus. Those few who retain the ability to speak will constantly shout their former warcries, plodding along towards the enemy in an unstoppable, and unkillable, wave.
"Human" Guard - Occasionally, one may see a guardsmen of Eclipsion who remains in their original form even after the appearence of the fog, or if discerning, before the fog appears. Unlike their dream-like comrads, these men are constantly in states of fear, panic, and hopelessness, wailing inhuman cries and refusing to fight. However, they will never leave their unit, no matter where it goes. For all their fear and revulsion, they somehow remain loyal to their fellows, and will never abandon them. These guard reflect the few souls who both survived the civil war and did not turn to chaos prior to the starchild, they have kept their humanity and sense of self, but are bound just as tightly to the starchild as their kin. Even worse, they have gained their immortality as well, and no matter how many times they die, they come back, same as before, trapped in a neverending hell. |
