Kinda like an AK-47. When you absolutely, positively, have to hit the broad side of a barn.

Though, I wonder why the creator didn't just say, "THINGS DIE" for damage rolls. Would've been a lot easier.

How appropriate. The TARDIS my level 40-something artificer is working on could probably take one of these down.
Force Forks- Over 9000 (okay, so a few hundred) touch attacks per round, 240 (40 maximized d6) force damage each, not subject to SR. Add in Violate Spell, and the absurd fast healing won't accomplish anything.
It will still take a hell of a long time, sure. Three minutes, assuming I only miss on natural ones.

I'm fairly confident in the ability of my TARDIS to withstand its attacks.

TRANSMORTALITY IS THE ABILITY OF A TIME LORD (OR HIGHER) TO BE UNKILLABLE BY CREATURES FROM YOUR OWN UNIVERSE, SAVE BY ONE SINGLE INDIVIDUAL. OR, IN THE CASE OF TIME LORDS COMPOSED OF X MULTIVERSES, 1 SINGLE INDIVIDUAL ACROSS X MULTIVERSES.

LIKEWISE, UNREAL IS A TOTAL IMMUNITY TO ALL BUT ONE SPELL FROM YOUR X UNIVERSES.

SO, A TIME LORD CAN ONLY BE KILLED WITH A SPELL, IF THE INDIVIDUAL CASTING THAT SPELL HAPPENS TO BE CASTING THE 1 SPELL THAT CAN HARM A TIME LORD, *OR*, IF NEITHER THE INDIVIDUAL NOR THE SPELL ARE FROM THE TIME LORD'S "NATIVE" UNIVERSE.

It's actually supposed to be CR 851 and ECL 1276, Mr. Rage.

    >Total ECL 1277 = CR 851
    >Neutronium Golem New CR = 851.

For comparison, an entry-level Stage III demiurge is 640 HD, +640 LA, ECL 1280, CR 853, and divine rank 128. It gains 4 free transcendental abilities from the following list of 6: Evil Eye, Transcorporeal, Transfinite, Transmortality, Transtemporal, and Unreal

It has 128 divine ability slots and four ECL 1280 artifacts, or 640 divine ability slots if it gives up all of its artifacts. It also has 214 feat slots from having 640 HD alone, which it can then convert into 35 divine ability slots and 4 feat slots. So, assuming it forgoes its artifacts and converts its feat slots, our entry-level Stage III demiurge has 675 divine ability slots and 4 feat slots. A divine ability costs 1 divine ability slot, a cosmic ability costs 6 slots, a transcendental ability costs 36 slots, and an omnific ability costs 200 slots, so our demiurge can afford 3 omnific abilities, 2 more transcendental abilities, and 3 divine abilities.

And I think it's very clear that 3 omnific abilities is enough to make you nigh-unbeatable. So, even the neutronium golem's new CR at 851 is a bit overCRed compared to the power of demiurges, which are below time lords, even. Especially when Neutronium Body is an omnific ability that makes you like a super-neutronium golem, and it's one of the WEAKER omnific abilities.

    >>3109588

Actually, Mr. Rage, Transmortality applies to entities even outside your universe(s). It can be bypassed by draining the Transmortal entity's divine rank and Con/Cha down to the point where it doesn't qualify for Transmortality, though.

Divine damage, does, in fact, break Walls of Force, Prismatic Walls, Prismatic Spheres, and similar effects. The rule was originally from the 3.0 Deities and Demigods book, but the Immortals Handbook guy stole it for his own book anyway.

I'd actually be interested in statting up a Time Lord right now... or maybe later, seeing as I have only 45 minutes before I leave for work. So, 999 HD Time Lord, but with 499 integrated FIGHTER levels, not wizard levels. This is because integrated caster classes are somewhat useless due to the Alter Reality cosmic ability, whereas integrated fighter levels grant bonus feats, which can then be converted into divine ability slots.

    From page 45 of Ascension:
    >Supreme Being (GOD)
    >The supreme being is the most powerful being in existence, known to some as the great architect of the universe. Although the current holder of the title may not correspond to the original creator of all things. The supreme being is the dominant consciousness shaping the omniverse from beyond the great wall.
    >Figures from mythology who could be considered supreme beings would include: Logos (the word: “in the beginning was the word, and the word was GOD”). While Lipika (meaning ‘keepers of secrets’) is the name attributed to retired supreme beings (both are from occult lore).
    >N.B. The supreme being is analogous to the Games Master, the great wall a metaphor for the GM’s Screen.

    >CREATING A SUPREME BEING
    >There is no Supreme Being Template. The supreme being is merely an extension of the Games Master and as such requires no stats.
    >However, for those who wish to indulge in such flights of imagination, the supreme being could simply represent the most powerful high lord eternal in existence. Such a being could theoretically encompass any number of universes depending on the whims of the Games Master. One idea would be to interpret Logos as incorporating seventy-two universes, one representing each name of GOD (as per Qabbalism).

I must point out that the Epic Bestiary, in the section for damage dice progression and virtual size categories, points out that the given damage for thrown objects (as is the case for the Hulking Hurler) is bullshit, and presents a system that's slightly less borked for it. I find it amusing that your solution on how to kill the tenth dimensional being is to throw a character in the game at it. That being represents the dungeon master. While this limits your options in character, lateral thinking opens some new ones up to you.

Short version: Hulking Hurler damage is based on the mass of the object they throw. The mass of the object they throw is limited by their medium load. Their medium load scales geometrically with their strength.
See this chart, because I'm too lazy to derive the formula in my head: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/carryingCapacity.htm
At STR 100, for instance, it's 17.4 million pounds.
The damage of this projectile is (Mass in lbs)/200 + 4 d6.

I dunno, Old One status is enough to afford the ability to shut down the most powerful ability of one foe you face (Abrogate, cosmic ability), nullify all divine abilities in your aura (Divine Nullification, cosmic ability), make your aura radiate a dead magic zone that affects even deities, but not you or your allies (Dead Zone, transcendental ability), and destroy people from reality to bypass any reincarnation, though not Transmortality (Astro [Effect], transcendental ability). Old One status is certainly enough to take on a limitless number of Greater Deities, and bring down an Elder One (roughly an overdeity) with ease. Fun fact: that's in the same tier as Azathoth.

For reference, if a Time Lord is the embodiment of a universe, an Elder One is the embodiment of either a planet (for the Material Plane) or a planar layer, an Old One is the embodiment of a galaxy (for the Material Plane) or a plane, and a First One is the embodiment of a supercluster (for the Material Plane) or a dimension. A "dimension" in the IHB is defined as a group of related planes or a single extremely expansive plane, such as: the outer planes, the inner planes, the transitive planes, the Material Plane, or the Far Realm.

I guess that makes O.R.T. an Elder One of the planet Mercury.

Now, I had something built, off the top of my head, that was Colossal and had a strength around 200. Combined with magic items that increased its lifting capability, that gives a possible projectile of about 24 billion pounds, so 125 514 551 d6 damage, give or take.

    But you know what?
    FUCK THAT SHIT.
I decided to check the Character Optimization boards, to see what crazy shit they had come up with. And I was not disappointed.

With 1380 strength, give or take, a colossal biped should be able to toss around 1.6684*10^44 d6.

Now, the damage figure they give is around 1.82 *10^83 d6, which is way more than what I calculated. I'm sure I'd figure it out fairly quickly if I rooted through the dozen or so sourcebooks that all those templates are from, but I'm sure they would add up.

For some scale... that could deal damage roughly equal to your quoted HP for the observable universe. To every PARTICLE in said universe.

Even better--there are rules for penetrating the 9th dimension (DM screen) but powerstrength. Not arbitrarily high... infinite. Pun Pun's gonna have to step aside for a real challenger, he just doesn't qualify.

Then, once you have your infinitely powerful entity, you can attempt to break the DM screen. you have a 1 in 4096 chance of success, and a 4095 in 4096 chance of death. Basically, roll 6d4. If they all come up 4, success.

The odds may be low. Gathering enough WP (worship points) may take real life months. And the odds may be catastrophically against you.

    No.

Because some of you seem to have trouble grasping the concept... a Time Lord is a campaign setting. It can't be killed. You could wipe out all life and everything in it, but it'd still be there, the space that Faerun (or wherever) used to be.

Besides, if the planetoid really fucked with the universe that much, the Monad would just send a few dozen Neutroniom Golems at them. They may have the right spells to stop 'em, but given that they arrive at the speed of light, by the time the liches see 'em coming, they've already destroyed the planetoid.

Really. Don't worry about the neutronium golems. We can totally handle them. It's killing the Time Lord itself that is the problem. Theoretically, the final blow has to be dealt from outside its universe, and through some means (That is to say, some combination of "I win MORE" abilities), that will counteract its abilites enough to keep it dead. Anyone with the IH books willing to suggest something that might do the trick?

I can't think of a low level spell that scales up with no limit, and the infinite damage loop just gives you infinitely high stats for one round, it doesn't grant you new spells or anything.

Also, is the Monad there? Did you try to go to him to use your infinite damage loop? How did you reach his level of existance? Didn't the Neutroniom golems stop you on the way in? The omnificer is a neat trick to hit infinitely high stats.

People confuse this with infinite power, but his offensive power is sharply limited by the fact he is, in fact, level 3, and has already taken two move actions this round.

Gonna have to step it up to take this kinda crap out... although I suppose you could do your damage dive, then hurl a rock at the moon hard and precisely enough to leave a crater with your snarling face on it glaring down at the earth. The DCs would be high, but you have infinite strength and dex, so I suspect you could make it even with the -4 nonproficiency penalty for an improvised weapon(rock). This would be an Epoch Event for the entire earth (Crap, dude, what happened to the MOON?) giving you... er.... one worship point per resident of the planet? Let's assume, oh, fifty million sentient beings on the planet, say one million are friendly, nine million neutral, fourty million hostile (D&D is an angry place), that's raw 5.9 million WP, bonus for Evidence, penalty for Distant event (moon's a long way away) and Unknown (Oh my god, why is there a face on the moon)... five hundred ninety thousand WP.

I'm not sure how Worship Points are used, mind you. I think they translate directly into Quintessence? Maybe? If so, your Omnificer is now a Demi-Deity, divine rank 6. Or 194 divine ranks below the Universe.

Then, once some more efficient source of Quintessence is available, (dammit, I've got to read those books), begin accumulating it that way?

Suppose I could offer you a loan of a pocket universe, approximately half a light year accross, with a population in the trillions, and could order them to worship you.

We're presuming the Monad or Time Lord who sent these awesomely powerfull meta-cosmic Neutronium Golem sends them without any buffs or support from additional allies or HIMSELF.

You could be thinking "I'm going to do THIS awesome plan"! But the Time Lord KNOWS this. Because he's the Time Lord. Literally speaking, you have to tell the DM what you are going to do and how before you are going to do it, and he can say that the Time Lord knew about it, because he simply does.

And if he KNOWS that you have a cunning, albeit simplistically powerless plan to destory his amazingly powerful creatures by exploiting magical loopholes...what stops him from saying...

    "No, that doesnt work anymore."

"I knew what you were going to do and did, so I rewrote the events so you never did it."

    "Isnt that a Paradox?"

    "I'm a Time Lord. I can enjoy Paradoxes for breakfast.They're my reese's."

Anything we know, the DM, as a Time Lord's player, knows anything and everything the characters you are playing can or cant or will do, because he already meta-experienced it with his cosmic abilities. And because he controls the laws of magic and reality, any spell combo, or magical loophole you guys are thinking of...

    He can simply stop.

You guys need to understand this. To fight BBEG of this nature you need BBGG's of equal power to limit and supress the brunt of his powers to reduce that which you actually fight to a level you can actually combat.

    Without cosmic aid...you die.

I was half joking, but in all seriousness, if you are fighting a being that travels from different universes seriously, then you should have the ability to get massive amounts of adamantium, have the ability to shape it into a sphere, have the ability to shrink said giant sphere to the size of a bullet or tiny thing that can fit into a hollow bolt.

then simply teleport it or shoot it, hell make a spell that lets you scry for something and then actually shoot an object through the mirror or pool you are scrying with and have it teleported to the scene.

if you have the high enough levels that you are actually drawing these guys attention then you should
A: have the materials to kill them
B: have the abilities that, if used together properly, should allow you to make what you need to kill it
C: have the ability to deliver the payload to the guys face without dying just by getting within 1000 miles of it.

come on this is 3.5 D&D, where they figured out how to destroy the world with a lv 6 human sorcerer using locate town, you don't need to make a bajillion level character, just one that uses enough feats and synergies and etc to break the neutronium golem's brokenness.

    The End.

Sad but true....BBEG's need BBGG's to win.

Spiral Energy was Dai_Gurren's BBGG's force that was aiding them to win againts this BBEG. Without it...

    They'd be nothing.

Well, let's take a step back and actually look at the creature's stats instead of saying speed of light squared.

What's this? DR 1500/-, 2,216,080 hp? So a single 2,217,580 damage attack would kill it. Basically, throwing something the density of a supermassive black hole at it would finish it off, (like, say, a supermassive black hole. Grab the one from the center of the galaxy, you can put it back later) and we could skip all the blessing, shrinking, and building a cannon that can fire an object of that mass without rupturing, which would imply a cannon of even greater mass than the shell.

    Time to start stacking templates.

Fighting at the Ascension levels is actually quite simple, and not really that obtuse.

TO mortals, whom are merely little weak creatures without outside sources of power, yes, Time Lords are amazingly trancendental, nigh omnipotent beings wielding timeless might. As such to attempt to comprehend them at a level they can, they do philosophize shit.

However, to Time Lords....they are playing Civilization on a Universal Scale, and they have the cheats on.In order to even fight another Time Lord, you gotta be someone at his level, another Time Lord. Someone higher can fuck shit up, like a Moderator (Higher Tier Time Lords, or GOD), but the bottom of the rungs cant.

    There ya go.

"Metatron! What's the scouter say about his Quintessence level?"

No wonder the universes don't fight much, that's lame.

you don't need a massive canon since the bullet is small, and for that matter you don't even need to do the speed of light squared or anything like that, shrink the large mass of adamantium to the size of a bullet, it has the weight of a bullet made of adamantium since magical shrinking changes weight, fire bullet through a portal into the golems mouth slit, have the spell triggered to make the bullet return to it's normal size after hitting the golems body.

The only part that would be difficult is getting a mountain of adamantium and figuring out which spell you could use to make a safe portal between where ever you are and the golem's face.

People are talking about making thousands of magical devices and putting it in a box made of multiple layers of forces and spells, so this isn't too far out of the ballpark.

what would the damage be for a ball of adamantium suddenly turning from the size of a pea to the size of a mountain in your head be btw?

    Yep.

It kind of skimmed over it while it was happening(good.. no need for "giving a thirty minute speech is a free action).. but they were NO LONGER FIGHTING IN THE LITERAL PHYSICAL UNIVERSE. They went way beyond that to a place where literally ANYTHING was possible. Thought could take physical form and ruled all.

Remember how a hole was ripped so that it showed earth back in physical reality?

Or something like that. Pretty much they went to a place where the anti spirals couldn't go "fuck you, the universal laws are different now".
    >> Anonymous 12/04/08(Thu)02:41 No.3110338
    >>3110314
Obviously not, otherwise the Anti-Spirals would have said "Spiral Energy doesnt work here." and the Dai-Gurren would have failed.

If you dont have complete and absolute primacy and near-omnipotence within your own realmspace, you're not a Time Lord.

Now, other-powers can come and challenge you from without whose powers dont rely on your 'universe', and then a real fight begins, where usually the most powerful simply wins.

In TTGL's case I'd have to know a lot about the campaign setting to make a judgement call, because by the end of the series, they WERE wielding near- Time Lord level power.

Neutronium Golems are nothing to TTGL, and probably even Chouginga Gurren Lagann would have kicked their asses too.

    Stacking templates? Bah.
Cancer mage. Festering anger. Your strength goes up by 2, permanently, every day.
This is far, far, far, from the most efficent way to do it.

The thing about fighting these so called omnipotent, omniscient beings is thus:
Are there other such beings? The book says yes.
Can at least one of them be inferred to know at least one thing that our monad does not know? If so, then it is hardly ALL-knowing, now, is it?
Is at least one of them more powerful than the Monad we are trying to kill? The book says yes. Then they can hardly be considered ALL-powerful, now, can they?

Sure, they're ridiculously, absurdly, beyond-the-impossible fuckoff powerful.
But let's assume for a moment that we have a very bored Monad, trillions of yugas away from ours. He notices a little kobold wizard with a snake familiar. On a lark, he transforms him into a Sarrukh.
Fourteen seconds later, I give you: Pun-Pun.
This Monad, being essentially omniscient (at least with regards to its own domain), can easily see what Pun-Pun is destined to become. But, as this monad is insane, even by the standards of its fellows, it doesn't care. It actively HELPS pun-pun on its way.
Pun-Pun ends up with every cosmic, divine, Omniific, Transcendental, and low-fat ability in the book. He then pokes into our universe, and rapes it until it bleeds.

Then he, and the derranged monad go out for Cosmic Guiness or something.

Maybe then, that would come into question whom made the Anti-Spiral that way, made to be destroyed by Spiral Energy. If they opposed each other they would cancel each other out, but in this case, it's clear that the Spiral Energy was designed to WIN againts Anti-Spiral; revealing a purpose and a sentience behind this, that clearly wanted events that happened in TTGL to occur.

Probably the real Time Lord who made these two 'forces', and let them play as he watched for his amusement.

    1. Team Gurren pretty much rose SO HIGH that they were equals with the anti spirals. Kind of like becoming your own time lord.

    2. They could have destroyed all spiral life before that.. easily. Just a wave of their hands and EVERYTHING IS DEAD. They didn't because they were scared there was something that they didn't know. They ended up pussy footing around with the Gurren Lagann so long that SPIRAL LEVELS WENT OFF THE CHART AND THE COMBINED MIGHT OF TEAM GURREN MADE THEM ONTO A GOD.

Once that happened they busted their way out of the material realm into a theoretical plane of existence. There, outside of their actual universe, they could fight on equal terms cause the anti spirals only had control of their own universe.

Granted they were still massively powerful. They just couldn't go 'fuck reality' anymore. If they weren't on the same level, team gurren still would have died.

the sense i got was the spiral energy was like cancer to anti-spiral energy, enough anti-spiral could overwhelm the spiral energy, but a strong enough density of spiral energy would always beat an equally strong amount of anti-spiral or even a stronger amount to an extent.
