*The inquisitor enters the stage, and looks out onto the gathering of peoples. He waves, steps up to the microvox in the middle, and begins to speak. The vox crackles and a loud screeching noise is heard from the loudspeakers. A frantic adept rushes out onto the stage and kicks the stand, and the noise ends, much to the relief of the crowd*

"Hi everyone, and thank you for responding to this general information meeting. You in the front, shuffle to the right please, there's plenty of room on the other side."

"Right! First of all. I am Inquisitor Lolliros the second. Some of you might recognise the name of my father, Inquisitor Lolliros, who fucked up something royally the last time we tried this. But never fear! I am not like he. *I* have the proper permission for this meeting, *AND* the favour of high inquisitor Nanoc."

"And with that out of the way, let us start this seminary. The subject for today is the chaos."
"A recent incident of Orlgath V showed us that a little bit of knowlege can go a far way in preventing loss of life. The planet was invaded by chaos insurgents, but the local populace managed to hold out long enough for the imperial guard to arrive and sort the mess out,
thanks to a 'father Gregory', who saw fit to inform the peoples of what they where up against when the first attack started. "
    >> Inquisitor Lolliros the Second 01/30/09(Fri)18:24 No.3566915
"So, in his spirit, we have decided to show you what a lesser evil spawn looks like. I've chosen an ordinary chaos cultist for this purpose, assistants, if you would be so kind as to roll the cage onto the stage?"

*a baffled and bleeding man can be seen to the right of the stage, whispering something in a frantic voice. The inquisitor turns to him and responds, oblivious to the microvox in front of him*

"what do you mean the cultist escaped, sacrificed the mayor and ascended into a daemon?"

*the crowd shifts and muffled conversation breaks out. Everyone looks visibly disturbed, and some head for the exits*

*The adept seen earlier re enters the stage and waves his hands energetically, making a cutting gesture over his throat while pointing at the microvox*

"What, what do you mean? Speak up man! There's a crisis going on here! A daemon is on the loose!"

*the adepts rushes up to the inquisitor and whispers something. The inquisitor turns to the crowd, faint understanding rising in his eyes*

    "...Oh. Oh dear"

*Panic ensures as someone screams and the peoples hurries for the exits, trampling the ones who fall*

"..Wait! Calm down! Everything is under control!"

*A loud, inhuman roar can be heard from outside the theatre, and sounds of frantically discharged rifles echoes throughout the building*

"Looks like I was no better than my father after all"
    >> Inquisitor Lolliros the Second 01/30/09(Fri)18:46 No.3567027
*The inquisitor took a few steps forwards, and jumped of the stage. He closed his eyes and sighed*
    "Menial! Get me my bolter!"
*The shuffling and screaming coming from outside was getting greater now. After a few moments, it became clear that his retinue had somehow failed him.*

'Great, what do I do now?' He thought.

    ....

You are inquisitor Lolliros the second. For your whole life you have striven to become something greater than your father, now expunged Inquisitor Lolliros (the first). Having failed (you think that it's not quite as big a failure as your fathers though) your given mission, you are now standing on the floor in the abandoned theatre building. Outside, screams and sounds of battle can be heard. Looks like that one cultist your search team captured earlier in the week had friends in the city.

You are carrying nothing more than your clothing, and the ID card in your pocket, identifying you as a member of the inquisition. It's great for picking up chicks with, but fill no real purpose other than getting you free meals and rides.

Ahead of you is the three main exits. The doors are wide open. Behind you is the theatre stage, and to the left and right is the stage entries, that leads to the back, and to the rear exit. You think that you left your bolter in your loge just before the seminary.

Moments pass. You struggle, but cannot think of what to do. You stand, nervously tapping your left foot against the clear marble floor with your arms crossed.

The sounds of carnage is starting to damper now. You figure that the battle is moving eastwards, towards downtown.

You are overwhelmed with sudden compulsion. You stagger forwards a few steps, and then a few more. A rising feeling of urgency is gathering in your gut. You massage your temples as you head for the main door.

Outside, a scene of death greets you. Various chaos spawns and maddened cultists lay dead in the streets, coupled with the bodies of PDF's, and alot of civilians. The pavement runs red with blood, and there's fire's everywhere. To your right the street continues westwards, towards the so called upperclass dwellings of this wretched city. To the east is the downtown. Straight ahead of you is the City hall.

You have one hell of a headache, and you lean against the wall of the theatre for stability, trying to clear your toughs.

The voice returns, violently urging you to flee.
You cover your ears with your hands, shouting "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!", but it's useless. Soon the compulsion takes over, and fear rises in your mind. You burst into a sprint, going westwards, faintly remembering that there's a munitorium there for the local PDF squadron. Along the way you pass overturned cars and mauled civilians, and the occasional wounded PDF trooper limping for the relative safety of a building or some cover.

You arrive at the munitorium. Further westwards lies the hospital. From here it looks as if there's still peoples moving around.

The munitorium looks dead and deserted. There's blood and bodies all over the entry, and it looks looted.
Still, there just might be something useful inside. Perhaps a voxbead, or a weapon.

You fight against the compulsions, knowing only too well that they lead to your temporary salvation.
But it's futile. For every passing moment you lose control to these strange voices.

You stager over to the bodies. They're mostly PDF's. Their weapons lay scattered about, no doubt deemed unnecessary by the khornate cultists. You grab a stubber. You sweep your gaze around, looking for a change of clothings. There might be a couple of uniforms in the munitorium. Otherwise, the dead will have to give you what you need.

You faintly recall skimming over the map of the city when you where on the shuttle towards the planet. The spaceport is downtown. Figures.

The voices reprimand you for your lack of forethought, and you pan around. A wounded man lay breathing in shallow gulps near a broken vehicle. He's lacking an arm, and wouldn't survive much longer anyways. You head over to him, flash him your badge, quip "Inquisitorial business", and nail him in the face with the stubber. He dies instantly with the report of the weapon, and you clumsily deprave him of his clothing. You dump your inquisitorial garb in the burning vehicle behind him, confident that it'll be disposed of momentarily.

You are now dressed in nondescript, dark clothing.
Looking around, you find an auotgun and and a holster, which you deposit your stubber in.

You sling the autogun over your shoulder, and look around for a functioning vehicle. No such luck! All cars are either burning or wrecked in this part of the streets, you'll have to make it on foot.

You jog eastwards again, towards the downtown district, and the spaceport.

You pass the theatre without incident, and enter the downtown.

The fighting is dense here, and the screams of the wounded and the sound of weapon discharge hangs thick in the air. You are standing at the western entry of the downtown. All around you are looted shops and slaughtered peoples, cultist, civilians and pdf in equal measure. Further down the street you can actually see fighting, though you can't tell who is fighting who from here. Ways to the south east the space port rises into the sky, like a dark, shining beacon of hope. There's heavy fighting over there, explosions ripping through the air.

Good, good. If you find a knife or other form of close combat weapon, take it. You may need it.
Keep to the shadows. Stay low, and behind cover. Avoid battles if you can, take a side street or alleyway. Your top priority is getting to the spaceport and getting a ship. One that has weapons, if possible. And a pilot.

I must leave you now. If you survive the night, I will return.

Once you are in space, cash in every favor, use every Inquisitorial resource, do everything you can to get as much money and equipment as you can. Its expensive being an Rouge Trader just starting off, and re-arranging your face isn't cheep. You have to do it as fast as you can though, before anyone finds out about this. Hopefully they will think you died here on the planet.

Going completely by the compulsions, and your own instincts, you duck low and scuttle over to the side. Looking around, you roughly plot your way to the spaceport, taking every shadowy side street, cutting every corner and avoiding contact with everything living as you do.

After a few narrow escapes and three dead cultists, you are crouching outside the main gates of the spaceport. The gates has been ripped open and torn aside, and there's dead bodies everywhere, mutilated almost beyond comprehension. The fighting is still heavy, and your chances of finding a craft to ferry you out is slim. Finding a pilot to make it do so is even slimmer.

    DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR!

I draw upon my early training as a sanctioned psyker and kick the main doors open, searching for the demon. As I see the beast rear its blasphemous head, I begin drawing warp energy into myself, ready to turn my own body into a portal into the warp, drawing the beast through my body, killing me and sealing the portal as the menace is banished to the hell it deserves. My name may be forgotten or reviled, but I die with my work complete.

After several moments of silence, you begin to wonder if your hidden benefactors have abandoned you. As the stronger compulsions falter, you begin to feel afraid. The sudden stillness in your mind unwelcome and unwanted.

You hazard a look around you, and realise that the place is empty. Bolstering your resolve, you decide to head over and into the spaceport.

You are met by a long corridor, branching off to the left and right a couple of doors ahead. Further down there's another intersection. The place is quiet and deserted, though you can hear faint sounds of battle far away, the screams of the dead and dying echoing against the corridor walls.

To your right, a large window with the words "reception" painted over it is covered from the inside with blood. There's several holes in the glass, and the whole thing could easily fall apart.

Just as suddenly as the voices went away, they return anew. This time, it doesn't take too long for you to comply with the compulsions they bring, and you set out to search the various packs and bags.

Scouring through, you manage to find several sets of clothing, food and common items. In one bag you find a large, keen edged knife. Probably well cared for earlier, it has now been abandoned by it's previous owner. You take it and shove it down your left boot.

Finding little else, you head over to the bloody reception. On the other side, you see a large pictscreen, displaying estimated time of arrivals and departures of different shuttles. All of the vessels still on ground are listed as grounded.

Sudden sounds of gunfire emerging from outside of the broken doors make you dive for cover behind a large, overturned metal table.

The compulsions are starting to feel like a veil over your mind.

You stay put, observing the cultist with your ears.
The man suddenly says something utterly incomprehensible, and starts to walk towards your position. You feel your adrenaline spike as your heart beats faster, preparing for the kill.

The cultist staggers over to a bag just in front of the table you are hiding behind, and crouches down over it. You hear the familiar sound of a zipper being undone, and then soon thereafter, again. You start to wonder what the man is doing when suddenly you hear the splash of liquid, and a very distinct smell enters your nostrils.

'oh now he's done it' you think, enraged. You grab the table with your left hand, and jump over it in a fluid motion. The cultist is standing with his back turned against you, and you direct your leap with your hand, and land with your right boot on his lower leg. He utters something, startled, and start to yelp in pain as he half turns towards you, bringing the butchers knife to bear in a poor, overarching swing. You turn slightly sideways, and jam your knife into the man's neck. He makes a gurgling noise and rolls madly with his eyes, trying for your torso with his knife. You dodge sideways, release your grip off your knife while tripping the man with your left foot. He starts to fall, and you quickly follow up with a boot to the face, breaking his nose and skull. The man tumbles helplessly backwards, and lands in a heap, gurgling and flailing with his arms. After a few moments, the man is dead, and you grit our teeth as you retrieve your knife from his throat, and clean it with a skirt you found in one of the bags.

You deposit it in your boot once more, and make for the elevator.

You continue up the stairs, and just as you round the last step you hear a shriek of terror coming from the voice that gave orders. You shake it off and push onwards.

floor 6 through 10 pass relatively uneventful. Upon reaching the eleventh floor you run into a problem.
    A big one.
A shuttle has apparently crashed into the staircase between the eleventh and the twelfth floor, effectively blocking your way. The titanium hull drips with blood that seeps out from the inside, indicating an unhealthy amount of corpses inside. A large swath of the wall has been torn asunder, and you get a great view over the cityscape. A large amount of fires are spreading all across the city, and there's heavy fighting everywhere. You briefly contemplate that at least a full quarter of the populace must've been aligned with khorne by the time you got here.

You try to recall if there's another way up besides the elevator, and faintly remember an external ladder going from floor 7 to 18, accessible via an guard post on each of them.
You approach the reinforced 11th floor door, and try to listen. There's scantly a sound coming from the other side, barring the occasional running footsteps, hurrying past.

You turn back and inspect the shuttle. After a few moments, you find the door and manage to pry it open. The stench of fear and death hits you in the face, and you cover your mouth with your hand as you scan the interiors. The inside of the shuttle is nothing more than piles upon piles of corpses. You can only see civilians, but it's always possible that there's a solider or a mercenary in there. However, you feel that there are more pressing concerns than digging through a shuttle full of dead peoples at the moment.
(You're also a bit squeamish when it comes to such large amounts of intestines, but you'd never admit that to yourself)

You close up the shuttle again, and head back to the door. With an effort, you manage to get it open, and cautiously peer into the corridor ahead. There's not a living soul in sight for the moment. To the right, you see various doors and offices. To the left, you see the guard post at the far end of the corridor. It seems to be unmanned at the moment.

Excellent my child, you've survived this far. I told you I would return.

Head towards the guard station, there may be a lasgun there you can use.
And the next time you find enough of it... you may want to rub some blood on your clothing. The cultists might leave one of their own alone after all.

You proceed towards the guard post. You encounter no one on your way there, but as you pass the elevator you can hear shouting and gunfire from down the shack. The cultists are gaining ground. Very soon they'll be all over the spaceport.

You arrive at the end of the corridor. There's not much here, a chair, a desk and a PDF jacket someone left hanging. A brief check reveals a map of the building, and you decide that it's in your best interest to memorize it. You pay specific attention to the landing pad at the 14th floor, and the shuttle bay at the twelfth, noting them to be the most possible locations for finding a craft and/or a pilot. The astropath is on the 13th floor, as you summarised earlier. The entry to the astropath's office is marked with red, and some scribbled text indicate a reinforced position outside the doors.

There's also a seemingly working vox unit here. The speaker is turned off, but judging by the readouts there's intense voxtraffic going on right now.

The window is unlocked, and you move it a bit and carefully peer out. The security ladder is just outside it, and so far no one seems to be using it. You turn and look up. There's not a great deal of shuttles in the air now, and the ones who are flying are actively trying to get away from the city.

You are starting to get the distinct feeling that the voices are not one and the same. However, you have no time to speculate at this, and decide to set the matter aside for now.

You grab the vox unit, put it on your belt and hook up the earpiece. Turning it on, you use your inquisitorial access code to tune in to the PDF network. Reports are scattered and frantic, the defense forces are obviously in way above their heads. All that where not slaughtered in the initial assault are now grouped up in small spots of resistance all over the city, fighting for their lives as much as anything else. You are worried that no one seems to know what happened to the mayor-turned-daemon.

You turn down the volume so that only you can hear the vox, and absent mindedly listen to it, encase there's anything important going on.
You head out, and close the window behind you. Outside, the wind is chilly and brisk, and smells of ashes and death. You quickly scuttle upwards. As you begin to reach the 13th floor, you hear someone say "There's an armed civvie coming up the ladder sarge! What do I do?!". You look around, and then remeber the vox.
You look up, and see the soldier in question. A real greenhorn, by the looks of it. He is holding his vox unit close to his face, looking mighty frightened. His stub revolver is shaking heavily in his hand.

You look down, and cant help but bring forth a large, mischievous smile. You turn back up, and wave at the soldier, trying to put on your best scared face."He looks scared" the soldier comments to his superior, seemingly unaware that he hasn't depressed the send button on his vox unit yet.

You climb a few steps upwards, just so that you reach hearing distance, and shout "You have to help me! They're coming! All my friends are dead!" with added frantic gesticulation. The solider seems to hesitate for a moment, discussing the situation with his superior. They soon reach a consensus, and he opens the window, motioning you to hurry inside.
You climb inside and take stock of the situation. The guardpost on this level is heavily fortified with sandbags and munitions. You spot a las carbine leaning against the wall, and several spare powercells laying around. This level feels positively crowded, compared to the previous empty halls. You count at least 20 pdf troopers in defensive positions, aiming at the stairs and the elevator. A rugged man with the insignia of a Sargent is towering over a man with a large vox aparatus on his back, discussing something.

You spot the door that leads to the astropaths office a few doors down the corridor. It's heavily defended.

You grab a hold of the greenhorn who let you in, and strike up a conversation. After a few moments, it's plain as daylight that, at least these troopers, have no idea what's going on. They have apparently been holed up in the spacestation even before the attack, guarding the shuttles and helping the arbiters.
When the shuttles started dropping from the sky, they received orders to hole up and protect the astropath, and since then everything has been a mess. Their ranking officer is the Sargent, and he is barely able to hold them together.

Relived in their ignorance, you thank the man, and head over to the leader. He greets you with a raised eyebrow, and you casually flip your inquisitorial id in his face. He promptly straightens up and salutes you.
"Inquisitor! We, that is to say, I, well, We didn't know that there was an inquisitor on this planet!"

"Well, You do now. I have need of you and your men. You are now commissioned into the service of the inquisition. Is this clear?"

the man promptly salutes once more, looking very relieved about not having to be in command any more. He waves one of the troopers to his side, and orders him to spread the news. Soon you are receiving respectful and fearful glances from the troopers in your vicinity.

You replace the greenhorn with a silent and sturdy looking fellow, and then motion for the Sargent to follow you, as you head into the astropath's office.

The first thing you notice is the 'exotic' décor, consisting prominently of pictures and paintings of the god-emperor in different shapes and forms. The actual furnishing in the room seems to be made out of solid gold. In the middle of the room is a large desk, with an extremely comfortable looking chair behind it. At the back of the room stands several book cases filled with books and collections of different kinds. Other than that and a pictscreen, the room is surprisingly bare.

The astropath is sitting on the floor, cross legged, seemingly lost in thought. The Sargent is looking very uncomfortable in the vicinity of him.

You greet the astropath, and he slowly opens his eyes, as if in a daze. "Inquisitor" he states with a monotone voice. "How can I serve you?".

You begin by asking him how the current fleet situation looks like. He responds by rolling his eyes up and back into his skull. "There is five ships in different states of orbit. One freight hauler, badly damaged. Two unidentified ships, one Inquisitorial ship.." he breaks off, looks at you and says "...yours, Inquisitor?" he then goes back and continues with "...and one imperium enlisted trader"
He finishes and looks at you with large, black eyes.

You ask him about the state of the ships currently on the landing pad. He responds quickly this time, as if he had already checked a dozen times the latest few minutes. "There's three transport scuttles capable of flight on the landingpad right now inquisitor. There is also two pilots in the building. One on floor 15, a man named Ray. He is currently clutching the remains of his wife, and has done so for the past two hours. The other one is on the landing pad, keeping the shuttles ready for take off. His name is Charls"

He trails off, and there's an awkward silence as he wordlessly observes you. You straighten out, and quickly inform him about the daemon attack and the chaos cultist uprising. He accepts the information with calculated cool. "This is not entirely unknown to me, Inquisitor" he states finally. "For some time now there has been an increase in warp activity surrounding this most fair of planets"
You remember the red, hostile sky and the dead, scotched earth surrounding the city.
"I tried to send a warning, but alas, the imperium had it's eyes elsewhere. For a while I hoped that you were here because of that, but it would seem that I was mistaken"

He finishes his sentence plainly and stares unyieldingly at you.

Suddenly, the voices are silent. There's something about this man. He ticks you off somehow.
You shrug, and ask him about what kind of supplies there is available. He sighs heavily, and stands up with some difficulty. He heads over to the pictscreen on the wall, and enters some command or other. A list displays, frightfully meagre.

The man reads out aloud, with a droning voice. "There is cultists on level 7, the five pdf soldiers there are being slaughtered as we speak. Our main storage room is on level 9. It contains several suits of carapace chest armour, 6 autoguns, 12 autogun clips, 6 stubbers and 12 stubber clips. And of course, the goods we confiscated from that wanted rouge trader a few years back"
Your attention snaps at his last words.
    "What confiscated goods?" you ask.

He continues, seemingly unimpressed with what he reads. "some amasec mostly, a stubber fitted with a silencer, and something called a 'power blade'."
He finishes the last two words with some disdain in his voice, as if he doesn't know what a power blade is.

You however, do. And you almost choke on your tongue as you hear him say that.

Apparently unsatisfied with the last entry, he enters another command on the pictscreen, and gets a more detailed description of the power blade. He reads out loud. "It says here that it's fitted with a mono filament blade aswell, whatever that means"

You sigh happily, thank the man, and hurriedly leave his office. As you are about to close the door behind you, you can hear him say "I'll be here if you have further use of me, Inquisitor. That is, I'll be here until the cultists break through".

You shudder at the thought and close the door. The Sargent looks obviously relieved at not having to be around the astropath any more. "Throne! I can't stand those, whatstheycalled, Psykers! Bah. They give me the jitters, that's fer sure" he says and makes the sign of the aquila.

You thank him once more, and head out again, maybe a little to quick, but damn he freaks you out as well.

Grab the amasec, in case you have the oppertunity to use it as a makeshift firebomb/antiseptic.

Keep an eye out for rope/cableing/anything you can use to climb with. Your enemies are currently battle drunk, and with a bit of trickery and thought you can easily get the drop on your foes.

Unable to stave off the combined compulsion of two voices at once, you stagger back to the storage room, grab two bottles of liquid gold, and lock up again.
Just in time too! You suddenly hear, with a pang of fear, that the elevator just started moving. There's a sickening babble coming from within. You hurry your troopers onwards, and just manage to get yourself out onto the ladder when the (woefully cheery) *ding* of the elevator chimes, and the corridor fills with bloodthirsty cultists.

The next order of business is securing a pilot. The one on level 15 seems unlikely to relocate given his reported emotional state, so retrieving him should not be overly difficult. You had best hurry, though; it will be easier to make your way to the landing pad if you can bring a large escort, and those PDFs will not last indefinitely.

You know you'll be hating yourself until the ends of time for this, but you regardless pop the cork on one of the bottles. Sweet sweet scents of amasec, aged to sublime perfection reaches your nostrils.
You pour some of the soapy, gold shimmery liquid onto the carpet inside, hoping that no one sees you.
You cork the bottle, and put it under your arm. You then remove the half empty clip from your stubber, and empty the remaining rounds onto the now wet carpet. You reholster your gun, and climb upwards, asking one of the lads for a lighter.
Soon, a delightfully smelling fire has started. The cultists doesn't seem to have noticed yet though. It'll spread quick enough though. You're not worried.

    >>3575190

You pour just the tiniest bit onto the ladder under you as you climb, effectively making it as easy to scale as if it had been drenched in soap. Good stuff, this amasec.
You lovingly cork the bottle again, and continue climbing.

    >>3575183
    >>3575189

You climb back up to level 13. Your pet gorilla hauls you the last few steps, and you gratefully land back onto the soft carpet. The two greenhorns have already begun distributing the remaining weapons and armour, much to the delight of all.

Now you need to think of your next step. Obviously, securing the landing pad on level 14 is a priority, but then again, so is getting both the pilots. You'll have at least a good 15 minutes before the cultists reach this floor, more so if they break into the storage and find the rest of the amasec you left there.

The Sargent is standing next to you, rapt with attention. You nod at him, and he reports. "We just lost contact with the rest of the pdf sir"

    Grim news indeed.

The Sargent looks genuinely roused by your little moral uplifter. Strange, you thought that that was what your father was good at, and thusly you, per definition, weren't.

He quickly complies with your orders, positioning the troopers at the window, and the rest crouching behind the sandbagged emplacements, covering the elevator and the stairwell door.

    >>3575279

    >>3575319

You decide to let the little voices agree upon this before acting further. This situation could go to the warp in a handbasket sooner than anyone could say "hey, what's this?"

While you do so, you make a mental note of your assets. You currently have 20 pdf troopers under your command. 4 of them are properly armoured with carpace vestments. All of them are wielding autoguns. 12 of them seems to be complete greenhorns, and the rest some kind of weird mix of disgruntled veterans and silent though guys. All in all, You'd expect them to last about 5 minutes in a proper firefight, but in these narrow corridors perhaps you could use the firepower to your advantage.

Upstairs is the landing pod, a large, rectangular bay that opens up to the east. There's supposedly a pilot there somewhere. The good news is that the elevator doesn't go further than this floor, the 13th, so fortificating the upper floors should be relatively easy.
Taking the steps further up is the rest of the building, floor 15 through 18. Largely just a collection of offices and administratorium. Now presumably abandoned.
There's an emotionally distraught pilot on the 15th floor. Floor 15 through 18 has it's own, separate elevator, reachable from the landing pod.

As you have lost all communication with the rest of the Planetary Defence Forces, it's safe to assume that the forces of chaos has completely overrun the city. You and your troopers are probably the last organised nonheretics. There are undoubtedly civilians still hiding in the city, but there's nothing you can do for them now.

The voices having seemingly reached a consensus, you decide that now is the time to act.
You get one of the troopers to fetch the astropath. Creepy as he might be, he's still a citizen of the imperium. And besides, he might come in handy.

While the troopers scuttles off on his fetch mission, you order some of the more brutish troopers to bend open the elevator doors, and shoot down the elevator.

As they get on to it, you order yet another trooper to gun down the ladder. You don't want any unexpected surprises coming from above. He gets to it. You order the remaining troopers to secure the stairs. As they do, you take your three personal guardians and head upstairs.

The stairwell door feels more or less like it has been welded shut, and it takes the combined efforts of you and the men to get it open. You order the greenies to scout ahead, and you heft your autogun. They dissapear into the landing pod, and a couple of tense minutes pass as you wait. Eventually they come back. "All clear, Inquisitor, we found the pilot".
You sigh with relief. That's one problem taken care of.

A loud bang and the sudden screams of several crammed cultists tells you that your men succeeded in cutting the elevator loose. You order your retinue to stand by and guard the door, and head back down. You are greeted by the troopers, smiling from ear to ear. You look at the elevator and note that they shot the wires clean. You lean into the shack and see the burning wreck down there, some 13 floors down.
'That ought to slow them down a bit' you think to yourself, as you order the troopers to get their move on, and move the sandbags upstairs and fortify the stairway.

The trooper you sent after the astropath returns with the man in tow. He seems unremarkable cool, all things considered. A few autogunshots tell you that the ladder has been taken care off. You take a last glance around the 13th floor, and then order the remaining men to move upstairs.

You follow in their wake, and emerge out onto the metal floor of the landing pod. As expected, you see three scuttles. Each one more than capable of lifting you and the troopers off into space. A man in a flight suit stands next to one of them, doing something with a spanner and emitting a series of loud curses.

You order the scouts to check the doors as you slowly progress down the hall. There's not much to be seen, but you remain alert and cautious nonetheless. The scouts return empty handed, the offices are seemingly empty. You reach the 13th door. Just as the first pilot said, there's a big bolt symbol on the door. However, what he didn't know was that the symbol actually is the sign of the mechanicus. You get a nagging feeling that there's something more going on here than what meets the eye.

You place both of your scouts at the sides of the door, and prepare for entry. You have the third man cover your flank.

Scratch that, I can stay on a bit longer.

Depress the touchpad that will give access, scouts enter, then stride in. (Also, as a side note, you should now openly wear the inqusitorial badge/id on the outside of your clothing. There's really no reason to hide it now what we've equipped ourselves with the best gear the local GDF has to offer.)

On an inclination, you decide to wear your inquisitorial Id visibly again, and tuck it to your chest. You motion for the scouts to get ready for entry, and open the door.

The scouts head in, and you follow. You were however, not prepared for the gruesome sight inside.
The office is small, and besides the large skull on the wall, completely bare. There's a pictscreen on the desk. On the floor lays the flayed and mangled corpse of a woman. By the looks of it, she was definitively a mechanicum adept, what with all the wires and implants. The cement walls have crude signs and words scrawled on them. Stuff like 'She was not meant for this' and 'why?'. The scouts look very queasy, so you send them back out.
There is no sign of the copilot in this place of death.

The co-pilot is probably still in the building, but he probably snapped, trying to find the cultists to kill them. You should head on back to the shuttles and explain the situation. Perhaps the machine spirits will understand.

Stride into the room confidently, you're an inquisitor! Show no fear to your men!

Corpse sounds bloody, look for any signs of any movement around it, footprints, blood trails etc.

Check out the pictscreen and whats on it.

Oh and tighten your grip on that powersword!

(and just to check coz im not up to scratch on tech of voxs, can we radio back to our sarge buddy?)

You hop over to the pictscreen and check if anything is on it. There's nothing, the pictscreen is blank. Looking around in the office, the only thing that catches your eye is the blood, which eventually leads down to the corpse on the floor. Whatever did this must have been a truly sadistic being.

"Inquisitor! Come quick, I think I heard something!" one of your scout troopers yell. You turn on the spot.

(and that's it for tonight. More tomorrah! Glad you all are enjoying it so far. Should this thread disappear someone archived it on suptg)
