05/17/09(Sun)12:19 No.4576576>>4576507 The bug should do whatever is convenient, you say it can possess people? I would set it up like this
Ma Pa Luke and Bo are having a boy howdy fine meal, Bo's girlfriend comes to the window, and asks to see him, they go outside together, and start making out by the furthest paddock.
Players now have control
THere is a large roar, and a scream and a yell come from outside, the direction the lovers walked off in. There are two loaded shotguns in the house, aswell as an unloaded pistol in the master bedroom. Its pitch black outside. What do you do?
now everytime a player goes off on their own, roll to see if they are overpowered and possessed, and then slip a note to that player, to arm themselves (maybe the alien can detect weapons, even primitive ones) and try to lure the other characters away from the main group and await further instructions.
use fear and paranoia as your tools, and dont be afraid to veil everything in darkness. Slowly work up to having your players venture outside for some reason (to fetch the lovers maybe).
dont be afraid to improvise.
in one game i had, way back when i used to run a regular btech game, The PCs ship had a roving Crana (evil blood sucking mega bug) running around. the players got so riled up about it, they started planning how to rid the entire ship of a huge crana infestation. their plans were so good, i ended up introducing another 20, just to let them have that outlet for their fear, and they freaked out, shot the crap out of their cargo hold, and then ejected the crana into space. in that scenario it was actually useful to increase the threat of the evils. anyways thats just my take, if you have anything to add im willing to help you with collaboration. |
