    174 KB Tiji System Anonymous 06/08/09(Mon)13:58 No.4811028
Alright since none of you posted over the weekend I ofcoarse will make work of it before it is lost forever, lets continue with our litle system I hope many of you of the previous threads are here to contribute and archived enough to continue.

The space marine chapter "Deep ones" we previously discussed it's initiation rite's where neophytes go scuba diving in power armour for a weak fighting sentient limbed sharkmen, and also the mobile fortress on Kratos.

    /tg/ Lets rock.

    I find your system interesting.

I find your Deep One space marine chapter a bastardization of Lovecraft.
    >> Rubric Marine !5YmRrjC64A 06/08/09(Mon)14:03 No.4811085
    >>4811078

That was he point; originally, the Deep Ones were based on Xomula, which had Lovecraft themes.

I think you mean the sharks.
    >>4811028
Shark-men? Can we keep them as sentient Khorne worshiping Sharks?

Also there were a few planets in the last thread. Anyone got them so we can add them to the System.
    >> Rubric Marine !5YmRrjC64A 06/08/09(Mon)14:07 No.4811130
    >>4811107

No; we decided the Deep Ones worshiped Khorne, thinking he was the 'Great Shark.' They used blood like the Khorne worshipers do, but don't keep the skull; they already have the Shark's jaw.

    I didn't see the thread.
Can you explain what the fuck happened?
Khorne-worshipping? Like, do they actually, seriously worship Khorne?
    Mobile fortresses on Kratos?
    Wat?

    >>4811139

They don't know they're worshiping Khorne; they call him the Great Shark, as I've said several times.

Krato's terrain is too treacherous for a normal fortress, so they made it a submarine.

We also decided to name the Chapter Master Dagon, and the Head Librarian Hydra.

Actually, here's an idea for you:

This isn't a planet. Planets orbit stars. This world, this celestial object, has no stars. With gravity that heavy and being that size, the planet has to be on the verge of becoming a star itself. This bizarre geology leads to all sorts of minerals being created and also creates a massive asteroid belt circling the planetoid.

    Leviathans Rest
    Warp storm
After the defeat of a tyranid splinter fleet the hive mind buckled and the shadow in the warp was banished by the emperors light, resulting in a huge inflow of warp energy creating Leviathans rest.

Chaos incursions are few and rare but sometimes make it onto the nearest "habital" planet of xomula, where the deep ones space marines always have a company on watch for training and defence against the ruinous forces, half on half off on the battle barge Ryull'eh.

Since the Adepta Sororitas do not recruit locally, but instead import their members from the Schola Progenum all over the galaxy, not necessarily. The planet would likely export such girls to the nearest Schola Progenum facility, though.

Which means that all Convents would have a roughly even distribution of the different skin colours. The majority will nevertheless be 'white' simply because most planets in the Imperium do not promote the development of strong pigmentation - usually due to natural climate (specific colonization), but in some cases also because of artificial changes to the environment (hive world living conditions).

    Helinius's Litney of the damnned
    Warp storm
    Between Ravenforge and Euclinise.

Warpstorm cause by a cabal of chaos sorcerors led by the infamous Helinius that served under Ahriman before breaking off and forming a splinter sorcery cult.
The Imperial fleet cornered the viel sorcerer upon his flagship the: "whispers of dissent", in his final moments he scaled the barges extirior while his vile cabal channeld ruinous energies supported by the faith of his cultists throughout the system.

Under the unyielding barrage of the Imperial fleet the warp drive overloaded on Helinius's ship during the dispicable ritual and reality caved in on itself and formed the warpstorm.

Today it is known to pour forth chaos raiders and demon ships to pillage and despoil the planets nearby.

    Order of the black sail
Named after the heritage of the locals, where seafearing tribes sturdy men and woman went over the waves for adventure and fishing, one such adventure is about the convents origins where a prison coloney of woman overthrew thier captors and set sail on the high seas, many years did they achieve the freedom they sought to attain since the start of thier journey but it didn't take long for this thieving band to be cornered and aprehanded yet the Emperors grand destiney held favor for them.

At the moment of thier trail the eclisiarchy intervened granting them the emperors mercy, along with cannones Alora le kerto of the order of the ebon chalice they were put through the rigorous indoctrination of the adepta sorroritas.

After Alora passed on the order of the black sail was founded, in honor of thier roots and founder.
The order of the black sail still keeps up thier tradition of recruiting from the seafaring tribes and mingeling them with the swamp fairing tribes of the system.

It was home to an ancient war where many Chaos artifacts were buried. Once in a while, a handful of undertakers come across one of these artifacts and end up being tainted.
This happened far too often for liking.
In the end, the Inquisition got tired of the rebellions coming from the cemetary world. The planet was used to preserve the dead, nothing more. It was a fucking useless wasteland in the first place, they just turned it into an even more useless wasteland, so that these artifacts would no longer be found by any silly undertakers.

Sororitas Orders commonly have some sort of artifact in their name, usually coupled with either the history or the purpose of the Order (which branch it is a part of), sometimes both, but usually somewhat related to each other.

Also, unlike Marine Chapters, Sororitas Orders do NOT recruit themselves, at least not directly.
To emphasize: When a girl gets orphaned or voluntarily given to the Imperium, the Ministorum arranges for her to get shipped to the nearest Schola Progenium facility that has an open spot. Years of hard training follow, including evaluation trials by different branches of the Sisterhood as well as other Imperial organizations (the Imperial Guard, the Commissariat, sometimes even the Inquisition). One day, somewhere in the galaxy, a Sisterhood convent notifies either the Convent Sanctorum or the Convent Prioris (depending on the Order's origin) that it is in need of a new member. The request gets processed and matched with the list of fresh Progenium graduates (depending on both ability and skill specializations), and finally the young Novice is sent off to her new Order, wherever it may be.

Also note that Sisters are actually forbidden to leave their monastery without good reasoning (usually mission assignments).

But ... I guess the possibility that the monastery itself lies at the beach and incorporates a part of it (cordoned off from outside influence) is acceptable. However, they wouldn't lie in the sun tanning, mind you. They still have to maintain their strict daily schedule, and visits to the beach would be incorporated there. Possible reasons might include: some holy artifact/statue is situated at the beach (heck, the convent could actually be founded to protect that one), the beach fulfills a role as the convent's rose garden (for meditation), or the beach actually is the Order's cemetary (maybe they shove their fallen out onto the sea and then immolate the wooden boats with melta-beams).

A boat - or some spaceship that just happened to crashland there. Or the place where a famous Imperial Saint first set foot on the land to colonize it (before becoming a Saint). Or the site of an important beachhead during a Holy War...
    Lots of possibilities.

This way, the Sisters would also get a nice tan even without inappropriate activities such as beach volleyball (which, however, might be suitable for the local Schola Progenium), simply by standing guard at the holy site. Given enough time, most Sisters would have accumulated enough hours in the sun.

Possible reason: A saint once visited a village on whatever bay the monastery is now at, which was plagued by the death of it's firstborn children. When the people were on the verge of losing faith in the Emperor's protection, the saint took them to the shore and said he would find the reason. One by one he anointed them with the symbol of the eagle with water from the sea. Halfway through the anointing, the water burnt the forehead of one villager- the saint declared he had found the heretic witch responsible, as the pure water bridled at their taint. They were burnt at the stake, the deaths stopped, and the bay became regarded as holy, and a source of protection from heretics. The convent was founded on it's shores, and the sisters pray kneeling in the shallows before undertaking each mission, to partake of it's blessing.

This. Much more original than the examples I listed.
    I approve.

In that case, I would suggest the convent's name to have something to do with water (and no, "Order of the Holy Water" won't do it...) - alternatively, it could also refer to the act itself rather than the vessel. Something like "Order of the Cleansing Touch".

Hey, what branch of the Sororitas is the Order supposed to belong to, anyways? Militant, Hospitaller, Famulous, Dialogous, Sabine or Pronatus? Given the background of the bay, I'd say it should be either Militant (purging heretics), Hospitaller (healing sickness) or Pronatus (guarding and harvesting the nearby water for use as Holy Water by the Ecclesiarchy).

How does /tg/ think about the latter? Would be a lot more original than yet another Order Militant. And they'd still have a bunch of boltgun-wielding guards anyways.

Just sayin' this whole capitol business you've got going on is silly. There'd be no recognized "agricultural capitol" or any of that jazz, each sector undoubtedly has multiple worlds devoted to nothing but agriculture as well as various others with it constituting a significant portion of the economy.

True. But it's still acceptable - maybe the respective organizations have some sort of headquarters on the individual planet, so it is a "capitol" of that branch of the administration. For example, the "Ministorum Capitol" would be a shrine world with the seat of the sector's arch-bishop, whereas a "Munitorum Capitol" would be the headquarters of the Sector's Imperial Guard administration, etc ...

Well then, how about "Order of the Healing Touch"? Incorporates both the convent's purpose as well as remembering the sacred act of 'healing' the corruption.

Other suggestions that come to my mind:
    -Order of the Purifying Hand
    -Order of the Cleansing Water
    -Order of the Blessed Sea

Feel free to contribute. Also, we need a set of theories on how the water became to be "blessed" so the Saint could find and use it. Possibilities: some artifact was lost in the nearby ocean and never retrieved ... or the day before the Saint appeared some fishermen witnessed a beam of gleaming, golden light from the sky burning into the sea (funny stuff: might have just been a wayward lancestrike from a weapons test malfunction aboard a battleship present in the planet's orbit, but nobody knows since the connection between this long-forgotten incident and the then-still-locally-confined myth was never made).

It doesn't have to be physically different to be blessed. That ends up detracting from the whole story; the idea is it's the fact the priest used it that makes it 'blessed'. He drew the aquila on them, which could have caused the burning, or it could have been his faith, or it could simply be apocryphal.
"Lol this bay is actually a DAoT sewage outlet" or whatever isn't necessary.

It was a forbidden world that was host to some much top secret Inquisitorial shit that they quarantined it as well - not one without Inquisitorial permission could leave it.

I wonder what the Inquisition could be hiding on Cataclysm?
    >> Anonymous 06/08/09(Mon)18:14 No.4813099
    >>4813081
My guess is that they're hiding everything.
Every possible Chaos artifact that has been obtained by the Imperium, every piece of Xenos technology, every heretic prisoner with valuable information, it all goes to Cataclysm.

Euphelion? Inquisitorial capitol? Fuck that - Euphelion is just the face of the Inquisition. If your world's got problems, you contact the Inquisition on Euphelion. Then Euphelion sends the information over to Cataclysm. Then shit really gets done.

    >>4813099
You know, it seems like Cataclysm should have a dominating Inquisition presence instead of merely significant.

Probably something like the Monolith in 2001 was dropped on the planet. Something that manages to feed all those people , normaly hunters and gatheres need a loot of space to survive.

Guys, we need to update this system thing:

Ix, a bizarre frontier world with thousand of fertile rain forest islands drifting around on an ocean of magma.
    Mundania, average in every way.
Koganusan, a terrifying, poisonous and ocean-covered forge world with one hour days. It leaves a cloud of land marks in its wake that it rams into when it completes its circle.
Xomula, absolutely crazy Xenos world where the Adeptus Mechanicus have gone to research. Hideous, Catachan-dangerous swamp world.
Iniega, a gas giant capable of sustaining life with eighteen satellites covered in hives while the planet's designated a pleasure world.
Orvana, a highly populated hive world under incredibly strict Imperial rule after rebellion. Pick up that can, criminal scum.
Hetopia III, a penal colony so hellish that it was designated 'pleasure world' as a joke by two yuppies in the Administratum.
Mining Site 0298, a rocky, barren landscape that's grim, dark and gritty and covered in miners.
Deathworld 17, a deathworld that used to be a feral world but then its atmosphere became poisonous and the oceans vanished - how?
Texasium, a agri-world covered in a bunch of farmers who zealously follow a religion preached to them by a handful of confused missionaries.
New Prospero, a wonderful, beautiful paradise world that's just about perfect in every way imaginable - now that's a shock!
New Krieg: a hive world with an absolutely deadly atmosphere, little moisture and endless piles of warheads. Krieg, anyone?
Ohshi Itsot: A blistering hot shrine world 'tended to' by unlucky bastards in the Ministorum who nobody likes.

    Continued next post.

Detaniax - A deadly Forgeworld with super high technology, but only notable Mechanicus presence.
Utopia - A Planet with nearly 400 degerees in the summer but swamps in the polar regions because of the crazy axial tilt.
Volcania- 61 Dudes with Spears and Swords fucking up everything that dares to come to their planet.
Augurus Prime - The home of the proud Augurus Titan legions.
Tempest - A planet that will cook you in the summer, freeze you solid in the winter and kill you via terrible storms in between, also its a dictatorship.
Inferno - A waterless, searing deathworld with a deadly atmosphere that somehow supports 9 million people and a high tech Titan legion with industrial tech only.
Ravenforge - Nobody goes to Ravenforge.
Taedium, a frontier world, that will be a paradise once it's fully colonized.
Extermis Cratum, a world that was once a paradise. It was hit by a shard of a broken world, so it's now a hell hole,
Nephertis, a Forbidden World controlled by Chaos death cults; the xenofauna are absolutely deadly. Not even the Imperium wants it.
Surat Thani, a Cemetary world that is dotted by rocky plateaus that go above the clouds, and thermal storms that melt steel. It's important in the Tiji Sector; it's where the Guardsmen are buried.

    It's way out of date.

It's a joke. A priest was about to christen the shrineworld with a bottle of alcohol, except it was so hot that the alcohol burst into flames, covering his protecting suit in blazing hot alcohol. Just as he was about to name the planet
As a joke, some Administratum yuppies decided to name the planet after what he said just then.
They are also serving at Hetopia.

In any case, I understand what you're saying. It does seem a tad... unimaginative.

    Giant Star
    Tau Presence: Token-Provisional
    Tiny Planet- 2,000 km
    Moderate tilt
    9 Hour Day
    90 Days a Year
    No Satellites
    Standard Gravity
    Poisonous Atmosphere
    Waterless Planet

    Ravines, Caves
    18 Million People
    Religious (Local)
Small Militia that is poorly trained/equipped
Medium Militia that is mid-poorly trained/equipped
Small Mercs that are poorly equipped.

This planet inhabits are tall, bulky multi-limbed creatures that live underground. They are almost blind, but can spit acid from their mouths. The native Xenos also have wiggly antenna growing out of their head. At the end of this, there is either a gland that glows in the dark, or a piece of fruit. These were used by the society for hunting. The atmosphere is very poisonous, which is why the Imperium has looked the other way at invading it. A Magos team was supposed to investigate the planet, but the ship got lost in a Warp Storm. Rogue Traders have claimed to spotted Tau scounting ships in the area, as well as a Kroot warshpere coming close to the planet. It is feared that the Tau are using this a listening post.
