Let's have a Tiji Sector thread. Make a few planets, fluff them out and add them to the sector.
    Old threads:
    http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Tiji%20Sector
    Generator:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/238498726/Warhammer_40k_-_PlanetGeneratorV2.pdf
Also some of the planets from the last thread may need to be added in. This map is slightly out of date.
And to get the ball rolling, here's a planet.
    Pleasure World
    Mid-Imperial
    Small star
    Slight Adeptus Astra Telepethaca
    Token Adeptus Astronomica
    Notable Adeptus Mechanicus
    Miniscule
    7 000 km
    Extreme tilt
    9 hour days
    336 day years
    6 satelites
    Very light gravity
    Normal atmosphere
    Average hydrosphere
    Tepid temperature
    5 terrains
Mountains, Caves, Islands, Dorman volcanoes, Continual forest
    10 hundred million population
    Religious local
    Small poor quality Enforcers
    TIny medium quality standing army
    Massive medium/high quality Private army/armies
    Medium, medium quality, mercenaries.

Pleasure world, 7,000 km, 6 satellites, extreme tilt, huge population, local religion... This planet must be stuffed to the brim with Slaanesh cults.

but that planet generator is an absolutely useless system which makes no sense, as it's all random, with nothing interconnecting it, and as a result they fail, miserably

I would design one better, but I dont have the inclination

    >>4942757
A better one HAS been designed. But good sir, I believe you have missed the point. You could design the greatest planet generator known to man and we'd still use this one because it is BECAUSE it is stupid, random and utterly insane that makes fluffing up reasons how the world could exist and human life could survive on it all the more fun.

So it is it's failure that makes it succeed for this little project. Although it do appears it has died a bit.

    >>4942801
I'm afraid I'd disagree - great design comes from good, clean mechanics, so those which do fall off the bell curve become all the more interesting, instead of the norm.

Ah but a good, normal planetary system with only a few places of interest isn't what we're looking for. We're looking for a crazy and horribly dangerous system both funny and grimdark, because it's Dark Heresy. A majority of normal and reasonable planets would not fit with the theme as well as a a planetary system filled with planets that it might be preferable to commit suicide before visiting. I mean we've a habited planet that goes around so fast, it's landmarks falls off it and then smashes right back into it later on as part of a cycle.

    >a habited planet that goes around so fast, it's landmarks falls off it and then smashes right back into it later on as part of a cycle.

while I laughed at the idea, the physicist in me had a small fit at the thought.

but really, what I'm saying is that it feels too disjointed - there's no flow to the design - the design doc itself is laid out rather strangely to me, as personally, I'd be working from the largest detail down to smaller iteratively, where that one jumps around randomly.

it also uses randomisers, where I'd have looked at bell curving probabilities for some parts.
    >> Anonymous 06/20/09(Sat)14:30 No.4943074
    >>4943044
You've a point on the layout. It is a bit weird. But I quite like the madness it's caused in it's randomness. We've created some weird world, including a world that we're not sure if it is a world. Seems like something between a world and a sun.

Alas it appears the project is quite dead. Still I've some time to kill so I might bump it with a few more mad worlds in the hope it'll live.

    my thought exactly. waterless swamp.
possibly ultra-dry dust quicksand swamps that cover the surface, and which suck those unfortunate enough to get caught in them under and bake you to death in the 3 or so hours between sunrise and sunset.... swamps that offer no place to shelter, only leaving the raised plateaus that lift above the swamps, that offer the choice of safety from the quicksands, or no shelter or shade from the roasting sun.

I imagine there's a crashed.... *something* in a 50, maybe 500 kilometer long scar over and through plataeus and through those swamps, with the stripped husk of the ship dismantled and used to build the sub-warp vessels, and some sort of colony towards or maybe even at the pole, where the temperature is slightly less lethal, and the 3 and a half hours of light and dark is less mind-frying.

the question is, what sort of xenos?

All of this work is done under the tyranical dictator who has legions of enforcers, armies and a huge numbers of missiles pointed at all the hives. However, prominant beurocracts have ammased massive mercenary forces and private armies to fight for them. Lesser administrators have organized themselves into militias to better their odds of survival in the dangerous halls of the planet.

The Reservation of United Security of Select Republics (USSR for short), only exists above the active volcanos. Floating navy surfs across the waves of grasslands that is harvested for food and processed for a sludge of liquid that substitutes for water. This liquid also doubles as oiling the titans, so some people wonder at the healthiness of consuming the liquid. The grasses are incredibly sharp, and can pierce armored hulls with scary ease. Men who fall overboard, or uncautious harvesters, who live describe the experience as being sliced by papercuts.

The many defense lasers are used to carve intricate sculptures in the super dense obsidian of the planet. The active volcanos and freezing climate make for super storms, so all habitable places pump magma into a dome shield (which freezes into super hard obsidian). Orbital lasers carve holes in the domes when ships need to dock or leave, but they are quickly sealed when the magma pumps are started again.

Mercenaries are groups of hardened people who venture out of the safety of the domed, floating isles to try and harvest some of the obsidian outside. The years of dry cold and compaction has given the obsidian odd qualities. Using other obsidian shards, they are chipped to make armor or jewelry, and used in ventilation by the rich because it takes months for the obsidian to heat up.

One thing is certain about Implausiba: you wont get a suntan you like.
with its tiny sun bathing its vast, ponderous planet in massive amounts of radiation to heat it, the 26 billion on it's surface live in near-darkness, At once quelled into submission by the crushing weight of the massive gravity, and the ever-present weight of the Arbites, whose law in the name of His Most Geriatric Bitumen Hoarfrost, Planetary Governor intrudes into every single one of the low, squat hives that peek out above the incessant mangrove swamps
The governor, now aged a venerable eight hundred years old, benefits from his off-world palaces, on the largest of the planets innumerable moons, which wrack the planet with earthquakes.

In such a dismal, oppressive, unlit place, it is perhaps no surprise that Imperial force recruitment is almost unable to cope with the demand for places. As a result, from the widespread militias in the hives, under the constant watch of Arbites officers, people exercise and drill to be accepted into a massive military complex taking almost 1/4 of the planet's surface, which processes a quarter of a billion recruits every year.

With a punishing training regime which sees a large percentage fail to pass through basic training, the Imperial guard churns out many of the best trained soldiers, pilots, and supporting personell in the sector, benefiting from its exceptional standard of equipment through footsoldiers and navy, and respectable armoured units and titan legions.

Ix, a bizarre frontier world with thousand of fertile rain forest islands drifting around on an ocean of magma.
    Mundania, average in every way.
Koganusan, a terrifying, poisonous and ocean-covered forge world with one hour days. It leaves a cloud of land marks in its wake that it rams into when it completes its circle.
Xomula, absolutely crazy Xenos world where the Adeptus Mechanicus have gone to research. Hideous, Catachan-dangerous swamp world.
Iniega, a gas giant capable of sustaining life with eighteen satellites covered in hives while the planet's designated a pleasure world.
Orvana, a highly populated hive world under incredibly strict Imperial rule after rebellion. Pick up that can, criminal scum.
Hetopia III, a penal colony so hellish that it was designated 'pleasure world' as a joke by two yuppies in the Administratum.
Mining Site 0298, a rocky, barren landscape that's grim, dark and gritty and covered in miners.
Deathworld 17, a deathworld that used to be a feral world but then its atmosphere became poisonous and the oceans vanished - how?
Texasium, a agri-world covered in a bunch of farmers who zealously follow a religion preached to them by a handful of confused missionaries.
New Prospero, a wonderful, beautiful paradise world that's just about perfect in every way imaginable - now that's a shock!
New Krieg: a hive world with an absolutely deadly atmosphere, little moisture and endless piles of warheads. Krieg, anyone?
Ohshi Itsot: A blistering hot shrine world 'tended to' by unlucky bastards in the Ministorum who nobody likes.

    28.

yes, the underhive is in fact *even more* under the domination of the Arbites than the upper levels.

I suspect those who fail the IG basic training end up in the Arbites - there must be close on a billion Arbites officers on the planet, watching every citizen closely, with regular beat patrols through the underhive, where gangers are quickly arrested for illegal carrying of weapons, loitering, or unlicensed use of lights.

Governor Hoarfrost can honestly say there is no problem with rebellion or lawlessness anywhere on his planet. Those who do are probably arrested before they've even left the scene of a crime, the Arbites are so omnipresent.

oligarchy.... perhaps his Most Geriatric Lordship is the senior Arbitrator, who served on the beat as a Hive Watchman himself, many centuries ago, and who slowly rose from there up the ranks to command a district, a zone, an entire hive.... become part of the senior command, and eventually planetary command.

Maybe the reason the old bastard has no gangs in the hives is because he fought them personally himself, back in the old days... and the crushing weight of the Arbites is a byproduct of that experience - on a planet where the gravity kills most people young, he's risen to the top by strength.

This ex-Forge World was turned on its heels at the beatification of Saint Infernus, as the Ecclesiarchy claimed it as its own. Needless to say, with the worship of the Machine God so well entrenched in society, the missionaries have their work cut out for them.

Sounds badass. That bit of fluff is a keeper.

    >Has No Adeptus Mechanicus Presence
    >Forge World be claimed
    >Worships the machine god
I think the missionaries might actually find their work easier than expected. What. How can this be?

Also this summary stuff is taking longer than expected. I've barely done a dozen worlds in this time.

swap you. when I'm not rolling handfulls of d10s, I'm trying to sculpt the wax masters for a bronze sword pommel.

Right. This is bound to be missing a lot of planets because I'm not very good at checking if a planet's been included with the map
Endrythis - Giant huge iceball.Filled with people praying to the Emperor for somewhere better to live.
Ixion II - Hot administratum world. Oceans migrate. Only the Emperor knows why it's so populated.
Abyssius Monasturius - Administratum hive world run by the Ministorum. Hot, long days and big population.
Nebraskus - Agri-world. Light gravity, bearable atmosphere.
Tempestus Solaris - Planet itself is worthless. Orbiting space stations are valuable to the military. So valuable, it's their capital.
Cataclysm - Inquisitorial capital, and they want to keep it a fucking secret.
Hylios - Hylios is a world in the middle of the terraforming process. Simple as that. It also has only 47 people maintaining quite a military.
Winterchase - Freezes in winter. Boils in summer. Large population of feral nomads who have their own version of the Emperor to reflect on their world travel to stop themselves from dieing.
Requiem - Frozen poisonous wasteland, but a big battle took place here and they'll dig those loyal servants of the emperor out and give them a burial so help them.
Syran - Mineral rich mining world with lots of radiation due to huge sun.
Aquaphobia - Aquatic world with volcanoes. Deep Ones are here.
Sors Natio - Moist water vapor planet.

And that's all for now. I'm getting tired, and I'm damn sure I've missed a few planets.

Fuck it i'll do some more. You know that feeling when you're tired but can't get to sleep? I've got that.
Yhas - A celestial object that's not quite a planet or a sun. This creates valuable objects worth mining for on the 50 satellites.
Nogred - Developing world, mainly military.
Ferrum Sanctimonia - Temperate Shrine World with beaches. Priest volleyball! Has a Hospitaller Sisters of Battle order here called Order of the Healing Touch because a saint healed a village of a heretic causing illness on a beach here. Sisters guard that coastal spot even today.
Deleator - Hard winter makes this a feudal world of Vikings led by a small number of Inquisitors to be loyal servants of the Emperor
Agailareptor - Ex-cemetery world, but pesky Chaos artifacts made it more trouble than it was worth and it got extirmatused. 70 people still live here, Chaos is persistent.
Cataclysm - Where the Inquisition keeps all the forbidden stuff they don't want to destroy but don't want to go in the wrong hands i.e not theirs.

And that's where the map needs updating. I missed a few, probably. I'll just archive the thread and try to get to sleep now.
