08/15/09(Sat)02:38 No.5460583>>5460575 Some people are wondering what the hell is going on, but most were watching the footage. Some anarchist group in Russia had broken into some Corp facility. Cyrillic writing on a frost coated steel door, then a figure with a plasma lance cutting the hinges off. A lot of shaking and heavy breathing as the camera moves inside, then it pans around, there are cages, rows that go back into this building for hundreds of meters, and the things in them aren't quite human anymore. The crowd is really getting agitated now, and then someone in the video trips an alarm. There's shooting, whoever is holding the camera goes down, and the image just sits zoomed on the side of a surgical gurney in the hallway of the facility, the logo of Illium Industries plainly visible on the frame. The video got cut soon after, but it was far far too late. The feed from Central Park had been broadcast around the world, live. Illium had grown overconfident in their security measures and they'd just been sucker punched, :hard:. The crowd in the park turned into a riot in seconds. They spilled out of Central Park and into the streets. Of course New York was real posh then, so the proles were scaring the stockholders. Board members start calling CEOs wondering why there were dirty unwashed masses looting there penthouse, and Mercs got sent in. They put down the riot hard, fast and messily. It was an absolute massacre, concert goers with a few guns, some molotovs and whatever they had at hand against tanks, choppers and biomercs is a one sided and ugly thing. Of course by now this riot is getting out across the net from hundreds of angles as eyecams and surveilance swarms capture every second of the slaughter. The still of Sascha K impaled on a merc's claw, her arms still wreathed in flame, became iconic of the day. |
