Okay, this thread is about the odd man out in your gaming groups.

For example, I was running a pulp game for four of my buddies. The party consisted of an FBI agent with occasional flashes of the future, a master of disguise, an amnesiac drifter with pyrokinesis... and a luchador wrestler with super strength.

This might not sound so weird, but let me give you an example. The party is infiltrating a speakeasy to find out more about the new mobster in town. The master of disguise starts to chat people up, the G-man is watching from afar, and the pyrokinetic is having a drink, much to the chagrin of the G-man.

Then there's the luchador. Well over 6 feet tall, wearing a brightly coloured mask. He is wasn't even let in. So what does he do? Simple. He suplexes one of the guards into unconsciousness, and takes his clothes. He walks inside, and finds everyone is staring at him. You see, he had a character flaw that meant he always had to wear his mask. So now a gigantic goon wearing a pinstripe suit, hat and luchador mask walks through the door and acts like everything's fine and dandy.

He didn't even realize this until we pointed it out.

    Yes. Yes, it did.

    >>6323485
Actually, what happened was that a gigantic fight broke out, complete with lots and lots of dropkicking people from tables and using thugs to clear tables. The rest of the party were unable to help, since it would blow their cover, and were forced to watch as their luchador friend went to town. The fight only neded when he powerbombed a mobster's head through the floor and the rest of them ran away.

Like the time he was stuck inside a prison cell and couldn't break the door open. He then realized he got a strength bonus when using wrestling moves and promptly ripped the door from its hinges with some kind of scissor lock.

Well, the only thing I can think of is when the party were introducing themselves to J. Edgar Hoover, who was sending them on a mission. The G-man didn't have to, seeing as how he was an FBI agent, the pyrokinetic said he started fires with his mind, the master of disguise mentioned he could speak six different languages fluently while perfectly mimicking Hoover's voice. The luchador simply said "I wrestle" in a thick Mexican accent.

    It was fairly badass.

    Dark Heresy

You are a member of an ancient temple society on your homeworld. The Temple teaches that during the Great Crusade the emperor fought a mighty battle on your world. One man decided to aid his lord, but did not believe he was worthy enough to fight alongside the Emperor. So, taking a simple cloth mask and the flag of a fallen soldier as a cloak, he fashioned a new identity for himself. The man was poor, so he had no weapon, but his heart was pure and his fists were strong. It is said that his courage and mighty heart impressed the Emporer, who decreed that from this day forward the masked man would be the defender of his world. The temple seeks only to honour his example.

Once a man joins the temple, he puts aside his old life and dons a mask. From this day forward only the Emperor may see your face, although it is said that the true lesson of the Temple is that the mask should *become* your true face. Weapons are derided, for a man should only trust in the strength of his arm and the courage of his heart. Miraculously, these "Lucha Saints" seem to have an uncanny ability to survive against the odds. Their commanding presence and stoic heroism makes them an example to all who see them in action.

Twiggy El Luchador Asistente used to be your typical runner until one day on a mission in Aztlan (or any setting's Aztec-like civilization), discovered a mystical mask made from leather. It's design was that of a skull, except it was showered in colors red, yellow and blue. It invited the runner in, promising great fortune and fame. Thus the runner put it on and was instantly smitten with the ideas of showmanship, great heart and justice from a chokeslam. A great urge to help those in need, especially the orphans! From then on, Twiggy El Luchador Asistente was born to fight the good, the bad and the supernatural.

I could do better if you gave me a day. But this is what I got so far to work in any setting if it's vague enough.

Still decent. Just need to fill the beginning. He was born into a family of luchadores. He inherited the mask from his (great?) grandfather. He and his brothers set out to be wrestlers, instead they took a wrong turn on their way to a show and found a gang of vampires threating a family. With their masks on they set out to stop them ->>>>> plot from angel after wards.

There's really no point, seeing as how super-heroes are canon in Ravaged Earth. Masked people with super powers already exist, which is why they kind of reacted like they did to a luchador wrestler walking into a criminal's den.

    How's this?

    BACKGROUND PACKAGE: 300xp
Available for Clerics, Guardsman or Assassins.

Characteristics: Increase Fellowship +5, Decrease Ballistic Skill by -5
Skills: You begin play with Charm, Performer (Wrestling),
Talents: Iron Jaw, Leap Up, Street Fighting, Takedown
Equipment: Replace your starting equipment with the following: A Luchadore's costume consisting of a good quality mask, pants and cape. The mask counts as a good quality charm; 1d10 glossy picts of yourself; a burning heart of full of Justice (once per day can count as a single dose of Frenzon)
The Luchadore's Honour (Trait): The Luchadore disdains the use of weapons other than those he was born with. As a result, they must pass a Hard (-20) Willpower test to use any weapon other than his bare hands unless they obviously have no chance of harming their enemy otherwise. Such is their firey passion, hoever, their fists count as 1d5+5 Tearing Impact weapons.
NOTE: A Luchadore's mask is a sacred and holy icon of his faith in the Emperor. The Luchadore cannot allow anyone to see the face beneath it. If for any reason the Luchadore loses his mask, he immediately gainst 2d10 insanity points and 1d5 Corruption points.

He immediately loses 2d10 insanity points and 1d5 corruption points upon regaining his mask though. If that doesn't bring him back to starting value, he's on the road to corruption though.

For some reason, I immediately began to think of fielding a regiment of Catachan luchadores.

Then I realized that using CREEEEEEEEED, I could infiltrate said luchadores. Shit would be so cash.

The noble Luchadore would never infiltrate! Such sneaky behaviour would not befit one of such honour! They would surely challenge the enemy to a duel of strength and wits directly, for such is there way of life!

Of course, Creed could probably somehow drop them behind enemy lines without them knowing. But that may well make him an enemy far worse than the Despoiler.

"CREED MY FRIEND, IT IS WITH HEAVY HEART THAT I MUST REFUSE YOUR ORDER. IT IS AGAINST THE CODE OF THE LUCHA TO ENGAGE IN THE INFILTRATION. I COULD NOT BESMIRCH THE... ¡AY CARAMBA! WHAT MAGIC IS THIS! ONLY A GENIO TÁCTICO COULD.... CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDD!!!

My fave is my current group a half elf cleric, an elvish druid, a half elf bard, dwarven fighter, and Orvil the elderly halfling shoe smith with cursed shoed that let him float 3 inches off the ground. He drifts about asleep most of the time, and when he does wake up he is senile and scratches the party members as often as the enemys
