    Panda Cherng:

Half-Chinese princess of the Panda Express franchise, she's known for being both highly intelligent, and as emotionless as stone (her only outlet of individuality being her ever-present plastic Panda mask, which she wears like an odd hairpiece/hat). She went to Baker University as her family's legacy of Adam and Peggy Cherng.

Rumored to have a nearly-genius IQ score, she and her franchise have an almost invisible presence on the market, however bringing in solid profits (a Honolulu branch bringing in $4 million USD yearly). This is due to their nearly-exclusive small-branch store system.

I can just picture The Colonel feeding the remains of someone he had killed to his pet chicken.

"When I said that if you crossed me, you would end up as chicken feed, I doubt you expected me to be so literal, but I am nothing if not a man of my word, sir..."

Jollibee has 1,490 branches in the Philippines. 1,490 branches in an archipelago smaller than California. It has 228 branches elsewhere in the world too, including the U.S. It's not even owned by a Filipino, it's owned by a Chinese guy. I believe this is insane.

Panda herself is incredibly pragmatic, considering herself, to a fault, Chinese, eschewing her half-caucasian heritage as a stain upon her honor (and often her hold upon her spot as head of the franchise from her relatives), despite her franchise's long since lost true relation to being particularly Chinese in all but name.

She herself is a perfectionist all that she does. This makes her a very powerful and incredibly ruthless manager and administrator within her organization. However, her greatest fear is failure, which causes her to outlash wildly without her usual calm intelligence, rendering her useless and even detrimental to her own best-laid plans should they not go off without a hitch until she recovers.

Pan-Pan (his real name long since lost within the organization and unknown) is fanatically loyal to Panda, not only as her personal henchman/bodyguard as head of the franchise, but to her personally, knowing her since childhood. She, herself, considers him the only person left she can trust, after her parents died in the last family war over the place of head.

He is greatly feared on the street (See last post in other thread about Pan-Pan), and for good reason. While his personal actions are few (him usually delegating Panda's orders to his hand-trained enforcers within the organization), when he does act, he acts without fail for Panda, leaving at times a wake of incredible yet evidence-less destruction across an entire city's Fast Food branches, or a single act of absolute and notorious skill and tact.

His most famous act, ever present in the minds of all the Bosses?

At the last meeting of the Bosses, the first ever Panda was attended, he silently incapacitated all Ronald "the Don" McDonald's guards outside the room, and pulled out his chair personally for him, Ronald noticing only as he looked about to shoo away what he believed was his guard.

Pan-Pan then disobeyed the unspoken rules of guards remaining outside the meeting chamber, standing behind Panda throughout the meeting.

Just have Carlito and Katie pay the PCs to kill Troy so she can take over his racket and marry Carlito so he can get a greencard.

It would put an uncomfortable and awkward wedge completely in their relationship though. This would be a good plot point for clever PCs to use if they need to destabilize that bond.

If I was the DM there, that'd be an off-taste in my mouth if the PCs took that route. It's too easy to be mercenaries. That sort of action would earn bad blood and suspicion from the other bosses, as the PCs had the gall to off a Boss, no matter how minor, for his lieutenant's order.

That would screw over believable or high-fidelity missions from Bosses, if I ran that game.

Wendy could, however, throw a wrench into the assassination attempt for shits and giggles and screw it all up. This chaos (probably from an anonymous tip that something was about to happen to the Trojan) would make the PCs either try to complete it (resulting in phat lewts from Katie and Carlito, but little more good plot progression), or BS-ing it all up to the Trojan in a good roleplay sequence to see if they can make it NOT seem like they were trying to kill him (resulting in no lewts, but RP-level progression and the plot moving forward with the setting itself still thankfully status quo).

GM here. I like this angle. Even if my plaeyers did break then apart, I'd have the Colonel trying to forgive the Queen (perhaps even proposing, had the sausage-smuggling not been revealed at all) as endgame approached, and the Fast Food war opened fully (culminating, as the last thread said, in a final BBEG fight with Ronald with his last screw gone). The Colonel would then die a manly death in a battle, and should Ronald himself be redeemed by the players (WONDERFUL plot point form the last thread), he'll actually still be alive, but simply hospitalized.

yeah, offing a boss is a pretty big thing. IT would have to be a beginning of the end kind of thing. The PC, Carlito and Katie don't get their happy ending. Off a Boss brings the rest of the Franchises down on them. They'd have to go hie with their only ally left, The Colonel. The Hunt puts stress on Wendy and The Colonel's relationship. Maybe the last straw even. IN the chaos and power vacuum other Bosses decide it time to make their plays. The city charbroils and the streets run red with ketchup.

You seem to be forgetting that this is a satirical grimdark setting that pokes fun at things. The more TUFF it is, the more it can be shrugged off to mafioso-drama (a la Exalted). To a point, yes, you're right; but that doesn't change the fact that these things need to be not only as realistic, but as fun as possible.

Therefore, a little bit of fluff embellishment is possible, as long as it doesn't happen in-game. It makes the setting GOOD.

I think "Papa" John and "Little" Caesar could be interesting. They are rivals but it is a 9 to 5 low impact rivalry. They hang out and occasionally have a few drinks and they always have each others backs. Why? Because they are both pizza. Pizza is old school. Pizza takes its time, gets the job done right. Pizza is a meal, not just food, it is about family and respect. It is the nature of business that pizza competes against pizza but against the rest of those flash-frying fuckers pizza has always got pizza's back.

Taco Bell oh gods i cant spell that stupid dog name thingy damn mexicans (This is alright. He's a little bit without redeeming features, but early-on in the last thread was pretty good.)

Jack in the box (NEEDS confirmation on what he REALLY is; last thread started off crazy mad genius, went to...something; also needs more backstory)

Wendy (lots of quirks and fluff, but not a lot of concrete personality/business practice ironed-out, i.e. why square burger patties, etc.)

Papa John, Little Caesar (good start in the last thread, but still no good backstory OR fluff for either to constitute enough for them to stand thematically)

Trojan/Katie (Katie, the LIEUTENANT, has more story than her Boss, and no real redeeming features. Lots of work needed here.)

Baby Face (nigh absolutely nothing concrete done)

Subway Bros. (lots of fluff, no personality, except for the brotherly-hate-hook, which I personally don't like)

the Queen (very intriguing flavor fluff, not a lot of personality/business practice, or a concrete backstory; needs a little work).

I like this idea, but if the end was coming for the balance between the fast food mafias, wouldn't that be the ideal time for Ronald's vaguely nihilistic, "purge the world of my mistake" rampage to start? More and more and more employees dead on the streets, perhaps a couple of lower ranking bosses found dead with the Golden Arches carved into their chests... If the balance ends, it seems like the obvious catalyst for his eventual breakdown and rampage.

For mob drama to occur, no more than one or two need to be completely unredeemable. That's not to say you need to explain this to your PCs however. The full knowledge of the setting is of the GM. The PCs are only at "eye-level" of the setting.

Like in the last thread, who's to say they don't suspect the Chinese, exotic-medicine-loving Panda as a cannibal, instead of Wendy, who PERSONALLY ASKED the PCs to look into such a investigation mission, yet is herself the culprit.

The subway brothers are actually one guy who is very paranoid /multiple personality disorder. He goes to elaborate measures to make sure that everyone thinks there is only one of him. He figures that if people think there are two of them who hate eachother then he'll be able to play people against eachother and find out who his real enemies are. Imagine going to the fat one with some dirt on the skinny one. he thanks you and rewards you, but then goes about the buisness of making sure that you wind up dead for betraying his 'brother'. Its one of the ways his info is always so 'fresh' he winds up hearing both sides of the story and is able to differentiate the bullshit from the real deal.

Of course up front they're some of the nicest people you'll meet. Always concerned about peoples health and making sure people try and eat right. He actually doesnt like the other bosses much on account of all the grease and dirty dealings they do. He may have his hands in a number of pockets, but he makes sure he's at least up front about it. If you know where to look you can actually watch him set stuff up right before your eyes without being able to do a damn thing about it.

Hes also good with custom orders. you want a job done a certain way, he can do it for you no problem.. Thats one thing him, Harvey and the king have in common. They're fine with doing things your way.

also he has a side racket in body disposal. 30k to make a body disapear no questions asked. 5k per foot long.

Good idea, but there should also be something more personal that makes the moment of him breaking down more memorable.

Like for example he`ll at first try to preserve whatever balance there is, even if simply out of routine and habit, but once he learns of birdie`s death at the peak of the conflict, everything suddenly flashes back to him. Fully realizing the mistake he did, ronald finally snaps. Then he REALLY goes nuts and unleashes hell and mustard on the streets.

They keep the Pizza racket nailed down and have a tenious alliane with the rest of the fast food mafia, but they waste a lot of resources keeping the Hut gang and the Piazza Piazza duo down. Because of this they arent able to fully leverage a lot of old money that they would otherwise have at their disposal.

This is somewhat of a guess, but I'm somewhat sure a normal hit is about 5 to 10 thousand, depending on target. That gets higher and higher if its a full-bounty, but what I'm getting at is 5k a foot for body disposal is absolute robbery.

Hamburgler was killed off last thread (to explain more or less why he wasn't included in the OP pic).

He was a poor kid that Ronald met in his youth. Hamburgler was doing a dine and dash, Ronald hid him in his tree house. They become friends, and Ronald lets him into his circle of friends with Grimace and Birdie.

Everybody grows up, Ronald leads them all to success, until the Hamburgler starts fumbling in the company, culminating in him trying to embezzle and run because he thinks a lawsuit is going to bring the entire company down.

Ronald gives a "supersized" order. He has Hamburgler hit.

That's what sent Ronald over the deep end emotionally in the last thread.

No, the King can't really "die" per se at Ronald's hands. He probably runs off and abandons the PCs as the going gets tough. It's part of his personality quirk of pride. He can't totally invest all that he as in trying to defeat Ronald, and while he'll do everything just short of that, unless he can, he never will win. That's why Ronald won over the King, if the PCs can figure that out.

Then cue PCs vs. Ronald FINAL FIGHT and assorted sub-boss(es, depending on whether Birdie or Grimace is dead).

how about 30k for the hit AND body disposal, no questions asked. There wouldn't even be any sign of any foul play; as far as the authorities could tell the target literally disappeared one day. The subway brothers could have a secret, underground catacomb network connecting to the subway system. They just kidnap and entomb the victim in the moldy brick walls. Anyone unfortunate enough to walk in will likely die from mold spore infection, so the secret will never be discovered unless there is an organized effort with full hazard protection.

True but it fits Ronald's nihilistic rampage to kill the King at that point in time. Plus, given the amount of effort the King has put in to reach that point, and with the final hurdle being Ronald himself, it would make for a suitable end for the King to be killed, face to face, by the one person he can't defeat. The King may even have been the one to strike 1st, trying to finally kill Ronald and take the number 1 spot, but ends up getting killed himself.

This is rather focused on North America, since that's where the Bosses are (and America is fuckhuge enough). Even if the Franchises are all multi-national, it's the interpersonal jobs that the PCs get from (at first) affiliates of the Franchises, then direct jobs from the Bosses within a relatively small magically-existing Deus Ex neutral HQ territory.

It's not necessarily the Bad End. It's the Good End.

The players kill Ronald, the King rises to the top of the business. Players get rewarded, but the setting can no longer continue. They beat the BBEG. The King can now consolidate power, since his greatest rival is now gone. Setting ends, as there's no more (believeable) Fast Food wars/conflict.

The other thing is the TRUE End because while there is no concrete ending, it's that the Fast Food wars continue, even if the PCs are no longer directly a part of it after that (it's after the finale; they're not coming back as the same group of characters, if at all). They effectively "save the world" per se if they let Ronald live and/or redeem him.

I thought the Queen was repeatedly stated as being actually male, but being incredibly insecure about it? There also seems to be an edge of having been dragged into this whole conflict, whereas she'd prefer to stay on the sidelines: the more she's in the spotlight, the more likely it is that someone will find out that she's actually a man.

New idea for a side-setting a la Pathfinders or what have you.

CORE Fast Food Mafia. In Japan.

It throws the PCs for a loop, as there are crazy "foreign" Franchises to deal with (ex. Mos Burger), and the powers that be are instead Japanese (also BATSHIT INSANE) Ronald, and a new Colonel.

Kid Vid is a master hacker, and responsible for the coding that makes Wheels' APC respond instantly. I.Q. is responsible for the skull-jack, as well as being head of Tactics and R&D for The King.
Snaps is a master-or would that be mistress?-of the Honey Trap game, one infamous for the fact that -no one- has sampled the goods.
Lingo is one of the few of the Club seen on a regular basis-he is the usually silent King's interpreter and translator.
Jaws...saw a few too many James Bond movies. Due to IQ's assistance, he is nigh unstoppable due to large amounts of subdermal armor plating. His teeth still appear normal-much to the surprise of anyone who gets bitten, as they have long since been replaced with high-wear, high-durability ceramics. Despite his insatiable appetite, there's been no confirmation of whether or not he is, in fact, a cannibal.
J.D. is the first in IQ's line of weaponized pets, and despite his successors-and the primitive, late-90s state of his mods-the genius keeps him around as an affectation, and, perhaps, a reminder of the early days.

To this day, she -still- is; when the King needs something and fast, he'll send Booster for it. Unfortunately, she's grown bored with the lack of action, as the King is unwilling to waste some of his most valuable operatives on simple smash-and-grab jobs...and even less pleased with the new kid, Jazz.

A high-level adventure could be getting Booster out of the rest of the Gang...or alternately, quietly "removing" Jazz on her request.

So what's the King really like? Nobody knows. The guy is all artifice, always smiling, willing to let you have it your way, even that ridiculous nickname he's got. It's all about not revealing his personality.

Because he really doesn't have one left at this point. He's nothing but ambition and a drive to take down The Don. All the rest are in it for the money and power, sure, but that's not all. The Colonel still thinks of himself as a gentleman, Papa John and Caesar think of themselves as family men, even Ronald wants to protect his legacy of being the genius that changed The Market and make sure his new methods endure into the future.

The King? He just wants to be number one. If there was anything else it's long gone now. Replaced by dreams of his hands around Ronald's throat. You can deal with the King, you RESPECT the King, but nobody gets close to or understands the King.

Rumor has it he came up from nothing with a crew. Bunch of kids some say, others a varied crew including a guy called the Duke of Doubt who trusted nobody and kept the King safe. Where are they now? Gone, vanished, like they never existed.

    The King keeps his secrets.

The Queen on the other hand? Everybody knows about her history. Little Miss Good Time Gal, passed around by everybody. Not that I blame them, she's a real charmer.

She was there at the beginning, when the Colonel was top dog and Dave was his right-hand man. Before The Don burst out of California like a blitzkrieg, using modern methods to take over territory and revolutionize The Market.

She used to be big, but hasn't got much left, mostly rural territories the big boys aren't willing to fight over. She could have lost it all many times, but she always wound up close to a protector.

When her husband got whacked, she went to Dave. Then Dave got whacked (and I for one don't believe the Colonel ordered that hit, Dave tried to warn him) she went to the Colonel. When the Colonel was beat she tried to go to Ronald, but The Don wasn't interested. He also didn't want a war to the death and let the other operations exist under him.

At one time or another she's approached anyone who might help preserve her crumbling empire. Rumor has it that now she's buttering up The King now that The Don is starting to act erratic. But she's not the beauty she once was and The Market is starting to get tighter. She'll do anything to keep her operations afloat, but she's running out of favors to trade with. Maybe it's time for one big roll of the dice and end it all instead of this constant dancing?

I know /tg/ loves the cock, but it just seems silly. A transvestite mafia boss?

You can keep it of course, or just have that be one of the stories floating about The Queen. Some people say she's a guy, others that she's a hermaphrodite like Jamie Lee Curtis, others that nobody knows because she kills everyone she sleeps with. That's why Ronald knew not to get involved.

Most of the gunsels trading rumors have never met the woman and likely never will. There are a lot of stories, (ranging from the plausible to the absurd) surrounding her though as she has been in the game a long time.

So the YUM! brands (Kentucky Pizza Bell) are addressed.
Jack's in, the McCrew's done, the Queen and King are in place, and we have the Panda Express folks.
This leads to a pivotal question, given Wendy's newest acquisition...
Where's the Red Hat come into play?

I'm thinkin' Arby's, and I'm thinking that he's Wendy's 'go to' man for when bad things have to happen to people. Can disguise himself like you wouldn't believe, to the point of SPAH levels...but right after the mortal wound is delivered, and the target realizes their time is at an end...the hat is put on. And whatever snarky little 'send off' quip is given, it's made clear. "When you reach the Pearly Gates, right before they pull the lever on your ass and drop you where you belong, remember this; when you try to recall how you got to your final reward; you had a beef with my woman, and I had a beef with you."

Troy (Sonic) is just a schmuck. Not everyone in a mob story is going to be a Michael Coreleone. Most of them are going to be Sonny or Fredo. Troy is one of them.

Oh he has a territory and it runs well enough, but even the Subway Brothers get more respect than him. He's a two-bit operator, barely above Carlito in the pecking order.

That doesn't sit well with Katie. (Is Katie his wife lieutenant or both?) She's the one always stirring shit up, trying to promote the business now matter how many risks she has to take. Some people say she's just crazy, others that she's trying to get Troy killed so she can take his place. She thinks she has what it takes to be a major player, but her and Troy are nothing more than chop meat to be used of and thrown away by people higher up the food chain.

Sure he was just a kid when he rose to the top, and he still has a baby face, but he's an old man now. A man who spent most of his life in a Federal Prison.

Bob got busted decades back and did hard time. Some people say he got sloppy, others that he was set up by Ronald or The King. But he's out now and he's taken over the scraps of his former organization. He's not much of a player anymore, but it would be foolish to ignore him. Rumor has it he's looking for revenge against one of the other players, and may just have the moxie to pull it off.

    FFM (T1) OP here.

All I can say is... Well, I don't really know what to say. A neat idea that I had to ease my players into d20 Modern, and it has become a full-blown /tg/ project. I must say, I am moved by the rapid popularity this has gained, and I am pleased that my little thread has spawned this level of epicness.

However, therein lies the problem. Unfortunately, I have built many pre-conceptions about what the world I've been building will be like, and some things from the threads simply have no place in that world (a notable example being the people who keep insisting that D.Q. is Male). As such, while I give these threads my blessing and I will actively monitor them, as they are a good read, a lot of the stuff here really isn't my style.

tl;dr: Thanks for the help and the interest, /tg/ but I'm too close-minded about the campaign I built to implement some of the cool and/or not so cool stuff I've been seeing. Keep up the good work, but due to creative differences, I'll be heading in my own direction with this campaign setting!

Yeah, man. I've been around a while. Worked for almost every crew worth mentioning. Stayed low on the chains, washed out when it was convenient.

I started out working for Silver. He's a weird one, but man, I wish I was back in his crew nowadays. At least things were pretty quiet, and the guy was fair. If you fucked with him, you were a dead man, but mistakes? He could live with mistakes. As long as it wasn't major, he'd just slip you somewhere you couldn't make one again.

Caesar, now there's a guy. Only real Sicilian in the biz, and he won't let you forget it. Yeah, the restaurants have gotten a lot lower-rent recently, but they're still surviving - and once he bumps off that douchebag John, you know they'll bounce back.

And don't think he won't do it. John is one thing: ARROGANT. Bastard won't know what hit him when it finally does. `Course, I have a feeling that it'll be when he starts branching out to Papa John's Burgers that it happens. There's only so many people you can get mad atcha before you're a giant target.

The Colonel... now there's a guy. Really cares about his food, which is a rarity. One time he heard that there was a restaurant of his that was underperforming - too many botched orders, underdone chicken - he flew out, took over the place for the weekend, and personally cooked free chicken for anyone that wanted it. Now granted, it all had the Special Ingredient in it, so it was more about getting more poor saps hooked, but still... the guy's got some pride. Not arrogance, but the real stuff.

I suggested that LJS is the Colonel's son, due to their franchises sharing buildings.

Hmmm...why not make them all kids or relatives of The Colonel? Being an enterprising sort (and all too aware of mortality) he had a few kids, and adopted others that seemed promising.

Possible post-Don Ron adventure: time has taken its toll, and the Colonel is on his last legs. Try and get IQ to stabilize him? Help one of his allies off him? Or try, in his last few years, to get on his good side?

Wendy is a scary little bitch, but I like her for one simple reason: she's got her priorities straight. When I was running with her crew, I had one duty. Monitor the neighborhoods. As soon as a blip came up on the Megan's Law sites, or I even heard rumors about something, I had to report to her. You just did not fuck around with kids on her turf. Ever. Damn satisfying work, I gotta say.

The King... the less I say about him, the better. Mostly because he's all flash. I really can't know what there is beneath the surface, too many fronts. Hell, there might not be anything. Just a hollow mask, you know? The work was pretty generic, I never really got my hands on too much. I will say that he at least seemed to get that the customer is always right - except when he's not.

Panda... I liked her crew. All honor and tradition, mingled with energy and innovation. Typical chink logic, I guess. Yeah, chink. They threw that word around like wannabe gangstas with 'nigger', except they did it with a sense of irony about it. I spent most of my time there as a driver. Pretty dull, really, but nice rides.

I managed a week working for Baby Face. Let me put it this way: Secret Ingredient or not, I'll still eat at most places I've worked. Not at his place. Not ever. The recipes may be 1950's vintage, but so is the health code.

Carlito's boys are just damn fun. Most of them are family men that like their work a little wild, so I can empathize, y'know? And despite being a foul-mouthed little cuss with a Napoleonic complex, he's got the strong Hispanic sense of community going. Once you're one of Carlito's people, you're set for life, man. We parted on friendly terms, which is good - especially since he didn't know that I was going to work for the Don.

And that was one freakish month. Worked me ragged, right to the bone, and the glimpse I got into his organization... it's huge. There are governments that are less complicated than Ronnyboy's web. And Ron? One scary-ass motherfucker. One day he pulled us all out onto the warehouse floor, and singled out one guy. Said that he had been passing info to the King. Then he walked over, grabbed him by the hair, and shoved his head into a fryer. Keep in mind, Ron's hand was in the boiling oil WITH THE GUY. And he didn't even flinch, just held him there until the guy stopped twitching, pulled him out, and dunked his hand in the sanitizer bucket.

That's when I bailed - a week later, anyway. Made it clear that I was too dumb to do the work I was given, and moved on to the Queen's territory. She... yeah, I know she used to be a guy, so what? So was my Aunt Gert, and I still had the decency not to mention it. Yeesh. Anyway, she's classy. Old Mafia style, and her establishments are much the same. You know they still give free cones to any dogs that come up in the summer? That's class, straight up.

Now, right now I've been transferred out, a sort of a trade to Jack's crew. Why, I don't know. I think they got wind of my old activities back when I was working for Wendy. Hey, can I help it if I get enthusiastic when you give me a cleaver and stick me in the same room with a tied up pedo-freak? You get my point here! But anyway, he's a creepy mother, less in the way that Ron is, and more like Jason Motherfucking Voorhes. The head... I just don't get the head. But I guess it's not my place to. I'm just another thug, another hired arm in the Franchise Wars.

And you know what? I couldn't care less who ends up on top when it's all over. Because no matter what, I'm going to survive. Savvy?

Yeah, Wendy has a rep as a icy bitch. You follow her rules or you are gone. Probably due to her fucked up childhood. You never talk about the Colonel. You never act rude to a civilian in public. You take care of the neighborhoods you run. Hell one time she came out to our crew and told us to clean up the streets. No shit, a dozen stone-cold killers walking around the 'hood picking up trash. I'll tell you the place stayed spotless after that though. Plus that always watching out for kids thing of hers.

But she's also a pro. One of the rules she kept drumming in was always never carry a dirty piece. You get a pat down? Dump it. You flash it to get some leverage? Dump it? You pull the trigger? Dump it. Never carry a weapon anybody knows about and ballistics can't do squat. As she used to say "Always fresh!"

He wasn't sure how long he'd been in the darkness. All he knew was that he had a hell of a headache. There was a click as someone flipped the light switch and he would've jumped if he hadn't been strapped to a chair. The bulb buzzed and flickered, casting ghostly shadows and yellow flashes on the bulbous white orb by the door.

"You've been talking to Gwendolyn," it said simply.
"No, no, Jack, I ain't never..."
"She can't know how I make my shakes, Allen."
"Jack, god, I swear I wouldn't dream of..."
"I use real ice cream in them, Allen. Can you imagine what my ice cream would do for her Frosties?"
"Please, Jack, please, I just wanna go home..."
There was a thud. He screamed and looked at his hands, cuffed to the table, and the cleaver that had just sliced off his thumb.
"You don't get to go home, Allen. You get to stay here with me for awhile."

Doesn't matter if it's true or not. Rumors circulate. Some people say that Jack is dead. He got supersized a few years back and he didn't miraculously survive.

That thing wearing those bandages? That's not Jack man. I don't know who or what is under the gauze, but it ain't the same guy he was before. I don't know if it's even human.

That's the sort of rumor that spreads regardless of whether anyone would know or if it is true. Same with the Queen. Or The Don. Sure he wears warpaint when he's out on a job, that's his trademark. But you expect me to believe he wears it all the time now? That's just crazy.

I think Quiznos needs to jump in on this to give the Subway Boys something to worry about. Like a small-scale turf war amongst the bigger one going on.

Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of for their leader is along the lines of Jigsaw from the Punisher, only instead of flaunting his mangled face (perhaps the aftermath of a botched hit involving an oven), he wears an iron mask.

    Pic related

    Eh.

The problem with DQ and Quiznos is that they don't have enough mythology to exploit. Ditto In'n'Out.

The King has the Kids, Ron has a TON of mythology; hell, Little Caesar and company.

    But the rest...don't.

Have to read that in Jack's voice from the TV ads. Nightmare fuel.

Also lots of interesting variations on slang. Some suggestions: "He got supersized" "Keep it fresh" "Fries with that?" etc.

Well, I'm mostly playing on the whole "Oven Toasted" thing they push. That and the fact that their only real "mascot" is that talking oven, which makes some sense in making the man have some sort of metallic visage.

All in all, since there isn't a lot of mythology to play on, it can be easy to say that the oven incident happened while Mr. Q was still working a foothold into the bigger picture and the Subway Boys, wanting to stamp out other sub competition, tried to take him out before he had a chance to get big.

Thus now in the setting, he's come back with an axe to grind and vengeance in his eyes. Not too concerned with the bigger going ons in relation to Ron and the others, he's out with the sole purpose of toppling the Subway Boys. With hopes of a shoddy alliance with small-timer Dan Domino (lolsubs), he'll slash and burn Subway to the ground.

    Mmm Mmm... Toasty.

Huh. An entire thread of good to excellent fluff, with little to no faggotry.

    Well done, /tg/.

From what I heard, Mr. Q was relatively normal when he was just starting out. He didn't have any extreme goals or grand schemes, he just wanted to carve out a little piece to call his own. The Subway Boys didn't like this sub-newcomer inching onto their turf, so they ordered a hit on him. It failed, though the aftermath left his face horribly burned. In turn he kicked the door open and latched onto his attacker and strangled him. Disposed of the body with the oven. This was a major setback, but a blessing in disguise. The pain of his injuries drove him to take massive measures in land gains, and made a somewhat shoddy alliance with now small-timer Dan Domino. Unlike most others, he prefers to do major dirty work himself. One time he showed up at a local Subway on a cold winter night. His face obscured by a scarf. When asked what he wanted on his sub, he simply said "Make me a sandwich you wish someone would order." He seemed like a normal customer...up until he got to the register. When told his total, he let out a ferocious, almost bestial roar as he leapt over the counter and grabbed the cashier by the neck, snapping it with almost effortless twists of his wrists. The other workers, unable to escape quickly enough due to the glass walls surrounding the areas where subs were constructed, were all killed with the man's bare hands in seconds.

Another man, just a common thug working for the Subway Boys, came out in reaction to the commotion. The savage turned to face him, the scarf falling from his face to reveal a grim, yet emotionless iron visage. The thug pulled his gun and shot him. This only caused the masked man to let out another roar as he charged the thug, who could only empty half of his clip into the man before meeting his demise. The last thing the thug probably saw was the keys of a cash register before the masked man slammed his head into it, crushing it in the process. His rampage followed into the back room. The startled thugs in the back didn't even have time to react before they were brutally beaten and/or maimed. Obviously, the Subway Boys weren't even there, which caused the guy to fly into another rage as he began smashing crates and twisting metal shelves like it was second nature. He suddenly left for a moment, only to return, following the trail of blood he left, with a can of gasoline in each hand pouring a stream as he walked. He slammed his foot against the back door, which caused it to tear clean off it's hinges, before he set the gas cans down and turned to face the building one last time. He dug into his pocket and produced a book of matches. He lit one and tossed it onto the gasoline. The fire took off like a bat out of hell and suddenly the whole place was up ablaze. Only thing he said as he admired his handiwork was "Mmm Mmm...Toasty."

How do I know all of this? I was lucky enough to be outside having a smoke when he showed up.

(o hai I just upgraded ur fluff)

I wasn't going for psycho when it comes to Mr. Q. He's more or less hopped up on PCP and vengeance whenever he goes out to do his major dirty work.

So essentially, it comes out being a masked arsonist on PCP.

I imagine the "good guys" could be anyone. Though if a game were run in this setting, I'd be too tempted to play as a Luchador who used to work with Carlito. Though they parted on friendly terms, he has no qualms in doing the occasional favor.

Who says there have to be good guys?

I figure that there aren't any truly "good" sides; the best you can do is choose a lesser evil (like working for the Colonel instead of Don Ron). According to the first thread's OP the setting is Grimpunk Cyberdark, so that doesn't seem too far fetched.
    >> Anonymous 11/13/09(Fri)00:03 No.6681628
There are no good guys. It's a mob setting. You either play a mobster trying to work your way up and stay alive, ala the Sopranos, or you play a deep-cover agent trying to work your way up and stay alive, ala Donnie Brasco.
