It is the end of the ninth month. Against weak protests from certain of your staff, you boarded Zeppelin 1 for the capital, along with Bem and a few choice personnel, with a heavy DCE element. It was a windy, turbulent trip, and none of you got much sleep, but you arrived in slightly less than thirty hours, no worse for wear. On your orders, a mooring tower had already been built, in the clearing marking the center of your capital holding. Officially, it is considered part of the County, so your word is law just as it was back home.
Expansion, as always, has proceeded on an awesome scale. The Secondary Site now boasts most of the trappings of the Northern element, including a second manor, an embassy, worker accommodations, an inn, and, of course, mines and factories. Despite having to train almost all the workers from the ground up, your head manufacturers have set everything up nicely, and are closing on the capital with good speed. A terminal has been constructed within that city already, and plans are being made to connect other Southern towns just as you've done before. Five agreements have already been made.
Unfortunately, things seem to have gotten worse back in Dreamwood proper. New plots seem to be uncovered daily, and despite DCE's best efforts, the chain of conspiracies resists all attempts to uncover it all. A prisoners has already been lost to a last-ditch mind-probe, prompting Jerith to insist on more time to study and practice. Meanwhile, AA continues on, seemingly oblivious to your many problems.
Two radiation heaters have been received from Matmer, with three more on the way. A first 'draft' of your uniform design has been completed in Dreamwood. Zeppelin 1 has ferried several loads of seeds and miscellaneous farming supplies up to Agricultural, making up for the loss of the convoy. |
