This installation was researching Non-AI computing, golems, and memory storage, which you already know. It was the source of many of the common system designs, like consoles, fabricator controls, and the like, that aren't intelligent as such. Its golems, though they don't look like much, are top-notch, at least on the inside. Individually, they are far more capable than others of the same class, with their own limited self-repair systems, courtesy of nanoscale engineering and cybernetics from K28 and K2, as well as much 'smarter' brains. Many designs not seen anywhere else were developed and tested here, like the tracked, sensor-laden submersible heavy scout. Schematics downloaded, where possible.
As far as memory storage, the installation is far ahead of the curve. Triple redundancies in the databases are the only reason its information is intact, and its data circuits show as much as a doubling in capacity for only a 20% increase in size. The vast majority of the installation's data is backed up by non-magical systems, plenty of which are no longer functional, but did, at least, survive the anti-magic field that disabled the intelligences and shut down the power plants.
From what you can tell, the facility was successfully evacuated, with about half the golems being removed and taken with the retreating personnel. They blasted their way out of several entrances after the power failure; they didn't have time to restore anything.
Primary has found a couple of computer concepts he didn't think of, and is looking at how this will affect research. In central bays are golems fit for immediate use, some of a security variety, others hovering scouts, and still others sporting hardware like miniature medical scanners or hullcutters. FC thinks the memory systems, in conjunction with what Primary's got, could be useful as auxiliaries on your ships and vehicles. |
