It has been one month since your last encounter with the Storm Elemental. Thankfully, nothing has come to destroy the village and kill you for a while. When the elders were first getting to know you, they didn't think they would have to face anything more than bandits or forest trolls. Instead, they got Demons, adventurers, and elementals.
Bem organized another trip to Fain, joking that it's a shame elementals don't drop gems. He took some furs, some gold, and one of the smallest rubies, and came back with a few books, one on appraising gemstones and jewelry, as well as a hog, three pigs, and a stallion for the two horses you already have.
Repairs to the majority of the town were completed in eight days, after which you began constructing a new granary, bigger, better, and less likely to fall over. The grain was transported from the old to the new one carefully, under your supervision, and after that was done, you deconstructed the damaged building piece-by-piece, piling up a large quantity of stones that you then used to help expand the library, now complete with a you-sized door and entranceway, made to look ornate and decorative, 'cathedral-like', in case anyone comes calling and starts to wonder. A smaller entrance to the left accommodates normal humans, and the two stories of shelf space will suffice for a long time. Vasian is very happy. |
