Ugh I've played a decent amount, but they're so many that it's still only like.. 5% TOPS.

For a year I used to do one-shots every weekend, each of a different system. Of course I picked easy to learn ones, mostly indie stuff. And many indie (read:Forge) games don't require much GM prep or even involvement, so it was pretty fun since I didn't have to spend a lot of time doing research or getting mentally prepared to yet learn another system on a weekly basis.

I try to keep what's relevant to my interests or what I feel can be used across more than 1 system, so I tend to have crunch-light books and keep the ones with mostly fluff.

Sorry, I remember downloading a torrent with like, dunno, 300 GURPS books? And they freaking weren't separated by editions, so I had to basically do it all myself. I haven't checked my RPGs folder for duplicates or errors in a while, but it's grown so big that I don't even feel like it. Just by getting requests here I realized how many files I had in the wrong place.

This. WGA's setting can be called.... "interesting" at best. At worst its "Why the fuck haven't the mundanes started a war with these people yet?" The system needs a bit of refluffing for use in the HP setting, but its pretty decent for a light hearted game if you don't use the utterly retarded core setting.

The main idea was that the players were zombies, pure and simply idiotic piles of flesh. Each player had few objectives, like learn to read or go preach to the church on mass sunday. The system was story-driven, I think?

My understanding is that its more like a 3.0 to 3.5 thing. Its still the same core system with some things cleaned up and streamlined.

Like instead of a melee and ranged basic attack there is a single 'fight' bonus. (sorry if its a bit unclear I've never actually played either, just been reading about it lately)

If you don't mind games with huge metaplots, then they can be a lot of fun. But much like D&D attracts the 'I just wanna kill goblins, what's roleplaying?' MMO crowd, White Wolf games (specially Vampire) attract angsty teens and/or Twilight vampire fangirls. You know, to quote Penny Arcade, people 'whose shit is WAY tormented'.

After that, it's a matter of the flavor of game you want to run. Mage is about being living Hax, Changeling is about contracting Romantic Wasting Disease and whining about it, Vamp is politics and skulduggery while pretending to be something you're not, etc.

Demonoid has the best RPG torrents I could find. They're mostly seeded, there's a lot of variety, both of mainstream games and more indie stuff.

As to stop rollplaying, well, you have to take into consideration that not everyone enjoys roleplaying. Some are in it to roll dice and kill/loot monsters.

With that in mind, if you make a huge switch, like from D&D to Dogs in the Vineyard, your roommate's head might explode. (I assume he enjoys D&D since that's the rollplaying game by excelence, not that you can't roleplay with it)

Try something like Legends of Anglerre, it's hard to min-max in that game, and it encourages to think outside the box/do cool shit. Also aspects of the character can be incorporated into the mechanics via Fate points, so the system itself pushes you towards acting like your character would by rewarding.

Did you mean fantasy games or would you prefer something else?

Well, blowing smoke out of my ass here, but there's always our own Adeptus Evangelion and the Super Robot Wars game anon's been building off of it..

Big Eyes, Small Mouth handles Super robot asskicking fairly well, as long as you stat up the mecha more like an alternate character than a "mecha" - the system tries really, really hard to do both Real Robots and Supers, and winds up being a massive clusterfuck.

It can be a bit daunting at almost 400 pages, but it's both a player's and GM's book. And it's very easy to learn, making characters is a breeze and the crunch is on the light side. The book has tons of examples and fluff, so it's also a lot of fun to read.
