!!D3/tV4+5MzR 03/07/11(Mon)03:39 No.14158059>>14158055 And the Metal Flu was in airports, in blood banks, in hospitals, in the parking lots of disease-specialized clinics and research centers, cutting down swaths of people without effort or aim; none were spared, and those who were immune were eradicated by the carriers in direct dive-bomb attacks, slashed throats and punctured lungs heralding the end, all without emotion or concern, just very, very steady progress.
In the downtown hearts of Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, Omaha, Las Vegas, Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Moscow and Tokyo, crates and cases unfurled and opened, revealing the true weapons of moderate destruction: small-scale EMP devices, which shut down entire sections of their target cities and their internet staging points.
The world ended with disjointed screams, cut off from one another, phones clipped and the World Wide Web reduced to small-scale office intranets, few connected for long or to too many others.
Power stations shut down, radio stations blared screeching noise or conflicting directions, all as planned; airports and train stations became death camps, packed full of desperate people at the end of their lives in every sense of the word.
In the countryside, nuclear mushrooms bloomed, erasing sight from eyes and sanity from minds; flashes of light were visible to the people in orbit, resembling a global disco ball, pulsing and throbbing to an unheard final death knell of song.
And the night became eternal; metal legs stepped out of factories, cargo containers and strange pulsing portals, their metal faces devoid of pity or hate, just relentless, efficient murder.
And so the world ended, neither with a bang nor a whimper, only this: >You are terminated. And you made it happen. |
