Members of your cabal are sent to infiltrate the Avariel, adequately protected, disguised, and equipped to escape, should they need to. The depart with your blessings and urgings for caution. You don't think this a terribly hazardous use of them, and a good learning experience, even if no violence is intended. They should have plenty of time to do their job, too; your attention will be held until after the reception.
Azyra's first actually isn't, since to the outside world, it's being calculated since Scinnari stopped carrying. More like her .75, really. And, arguably, you'd say that she really will be a year old by then; she was certainly as intelligent as human newborns in the egg. You do, however, admit that you might be biased.
Azyra herself is rather nervous about the idea of a party. She doesn't say as much, but does waver between eagerly asking you about who will attend, what she will receive, and uncertainly asking about who will attend, what she will have to do, and how important this is.
Either way, though invitations are sent, and preparations are being made- The ordering of luxury items, foods, and quality services, from chefs and stewards to bards, on a grand scale. Invitations are also sent to the local powers; Guild masters, Dock officials, Head clerics of several deities, and other individuals of import.
Responses, naturally, arrive before the guests do. Rhasver as a nation is still rather cautious regarding, as dwarves have long memories. Both messages sent to Tashz are rapidly replied to; the sultan declaring himself, to his great regret, unavoidably busy. An ambassador will attend, though. The other is a message of thanks from the Sultan's grandfather, saying that he isn't certain he can make it, but will attempt to make himself the emissary. Overall somewhat disappointing, compared to what you expected, but perhaps he is just trying to conceal his power. |
