I can't read Japanese, but what I could figure out was that the other colored armies want to beat the shit out of each other, the navy blue army employs centaurs and a huge ass mobile fortress that is actually a living turtle golem, the red army is pretty aggressive, and elves are commonly deployed on all sides.

Basically, it works like this: The organizers create three factions or so and lay down some basic guidelines on setting and art style, but the artists are free to go nuts over the details.

There is a metaplot which involves a plot of sieges and battles and stuff. Artists claim one of the warring factions and draw their characters/whatever participating in it, and those art pieces are tagged with the specific event. The faction whose art ends with the most total views/favorites "wins" that event.
