!!axMi1WjTudO 05/31/11(Tue)00:08 No.15109635Things didn't get much better from there. Something made those dreadful apparitions begin to appear during the day time. Not when anyone was near, mind you, but always when you were peacefully alone. They would arise in the corner of your eye, only to vanish the moment you turned their way. Vampires, trolls, skeletons, zombies...you had seen them all in cartoons and film, but the versions that made themselves known were unlike anything you had ever seen before. The lack of sleep only furthered your exasperation, and you eventually collapsed one day at school.
With the smothering darkness came something of a reprieve, broken at moments by doctors in white coats and your guardians' worried faces. You were lost in this world of darkness for what seemed an eternity as the world continued to spin underneath you. Voices swirled through the ether in your mind, familiar at first but then foreign and unrecognized. They seemed to argue about you, what should be done, two vastly different prerogatives mixed with insults and laughing.
Then one day, you just woke up. Sunlight filtered through your tired eyes, first slowly and then in a furious flood. Something about the light was...different. It somehow darker than the sun you were used to, a deep orange-red in color instead of white. It seemed to shed no heat, and something inside of you shuddered as you finally sat up and took it all in. You were on a small hill, barren except for a few sprigs of wilted weeds. The wind swirled and tore them up from the roots, spreading their useless remains across a landscape that matched the pattern you saw on your hill.
This was moments ago. You hear two quiet voices arguing with each other, the nuances of their speech similar to what you heard as you slept in darkness.
But, first things first, what kind of child are you?
