    >THE WORLD OF FORCHANIA:
A continent whose history is shrouded in myth. Some say the FIRST! People came here hundreds of years ago in a flash of light, from a completely different world. Others say that human kind has ALWAYS existed here, and that that is just a myth. Whatever the case, it is a place plagued by war.

You are Lord Bidhill of Dessex, the smallest territory within the lands of /tg/. You are currently at war with your only neighboring territory, Umbra, who, in an attempt of a hostile takeover, killed the previous lord while he was attempting to negotiate a truce under a white flag.

Now, Dessex is about to make its first strike against the hated Umbrans, in an attempt to secure a route into the nearby territory of Blackmoor, where they will hopefully find allies.

You are currently in your throne room, being suited up for battle.

As your armor is attached by your squire, you listen to Sir Kahl.

"We must be careful, my Liege; if we go through with this plan, of having you in this battle, we cannot risk your safety."

Kahl sighs, but nods. "I understand, my lord."

    You smile at him.

"Good. Besides, with both you and the paladins there with me, I am sure I have nothing to fear!"

Soon, you are finally ready; you flex your fingers, and re-check the straps of your armor.

"Are you ready, my Lord?" Asks Kahl, apprehension visible on his face.

Build a bridge; as you build, it will ask you to define which way it will close.

Then, build two mechanisms ( you need a mechanic).

Build a lever (1 mechanism) and connect it to the bridge (1 mechanism).

"Yes, Kahl, I am. Let's get going."

    ---------

You watch from the back of your steed as your forces begin to march to the south; cavalry, crossbowmen, infantry, and several hundred dwarves, as well as a long line of War Wagons, all of them covered in metal shields.

You travel for several days, until you reach the border between Dessex and Umbra, and the edge of the Black Forest.

Kahl pulls his steed to a halt next to you.

"Well, my Lord, we're here. It'll be another day and a half or so before we reach the other side, and then..."

"And then we kick those kobold-fuckers right in the daddy bags!"

You look around, trying to find the person speaking, before looking down, to see Urvash Strongbeard riding a donkey.

    He laughs.

"What? You expectin' me to ride a pony or something?"

"Rally the men! To me! To me! Brave soldiers! To me, loyal sons of Dessex! Listen, listen up, my comrades!
This is a good day, a day that shall be remembered in the history of all the Forchania. When the bard's sing songs about the glorious people of Dessex, when the poets flatter our virtues, this day will be on the first verse. For this is the day we stop being pushed around, being ordered, spit on and trampled by the greedy and the malevolent. For too long has Umbra tormented our fine people with their hunger for lands and money, even if it cost the blood of the innocent. For too long, corrupted noble and fake kings opressed the people on both side of this border. But this stop today. This day we take comand not only of our kingdom, and our destiny, but also comand of History. You are not only soldiers, but historians and scholars. I'm giving you the Ink and parchment, Take your swords and write me a battle tale to make the Umbrians wet their beds. And we this is done, we will have writen our names in the most solid stone, and we will have writen it under the flag of the Champions of justice and slayers of tyrants! TO ARMS, DWARVES AND MEN! It is the middle of the night, and the main host has set up camp.

The forest is, like its name, black. Pitch black, in fact, beyond the meager light your campfires provide.

You, Kahl, Urvash, and Spymaster Soren are seated in the command tent, going over the battle plans for the final time.

"So, we'll dig ourselves under through here-" Urvash places a sausage-like finger on a point of the map, "And breach into their cellars. After that, we can start sending in some of Soren's birdies, and-"

IMHO the Sword of Awesome is not only a great weapon, its psychological warfare to scare enemies and raise our own morale. Using to rally your men agaisnt the beast, simply by drawing it at a putch black florest, your men should look at you, even the enemy my stop in hist tracks for a second. The second you need to scream "For Dessex, with me, men!" and get them attacking with cooperative effort.

Gasping for breath, you manage to maintain the grip on your sword; the beast lashes its claws out at you, but you manage to roll to the side, though still receiving a large gash along your side as one of the beast's claws rips through a thin section of your armor.

It tries to strike again, but this time, you are ready, and you bring your sword up to defend yourself; the metal shines brightly, and the beast howls in pain, its fingers bursting into flame upon contact with the enchanted steel.

    >>15952310

The aging warrior beheads what appears to be a normal wolf... the size of a pony.

    "Kahl!"

He turns to you, and you continue:

"Reorder the units! Make the beasts fight regiments! Not soldiers!"

    "Aye, my Lord!"

Kahl gives you a salute, before crushing the head of a fallen (but still breathing) beast beneath his heel, and begins to gather the men.

You turn to the beast you were fighting earlier; the arm up to its elbow has seemingly burned away, and it is rolling on the forest floor, setting fire to various twigs and sticks.

You place a foot on its chest, as the beast begins to wheeze, black blood and bile dribbling from its maw.

You put the tip of your sword to its throat, and look it in the eye.

"You know my name, beast... Now, you will know my sword."

With a grunt of effort, you then thrust the blade into the skull of the creature, from the bottom of the jaw, to the top of the cranium. The Beast screams for a fraction of a second, and bursts into flame...

    But it doesn't hurt you.

You stand inside the golden flames, awe-struck, and as you look up, you realize everyone on the battlefield; werewolf, human, or dwarf, are just as surprised as you are.

A thought occurs, with the hereditary lycanthropy.
By no means are we to hunt down werewolves and eradicate them from our lands. By no means are we to usher in a new empire for the glory of the untainted master race, round them up into camps or try to cure them on a mass scale, however tempting and beneficial it may be.

But we will end up with a town full of savage beasts, unfit for society.

Mental note, we should look to reinforcing our armor if we are to battle the likes of werewolves in the future. Whether it's strengthened by a stronger alloy, enchantments or a combination of both we can't afford to be laid up on the side lines before a battle a second time.

The alternative of course is to become a better warrior and not get caught off guard like that, but that isn't something we can delegate to another.

If we mistrust Soren openly we'll just make a self fulfilling prophecy in which he betrays us, instead we should remain guarded with him but even if he is betraying us, we should attempt to win his loyalty (because that leaves us in a prime position to pull a triple cross and those are always fun)

To clarify, they would be the descendents of the station's original staff and would treat the technology with almost holy reverence, and every once in a while they come down to the surface to search and trade for lost tech, which they then return to the station and preserve to ensure that it is not lost forever. Kind of like a mix of Adeptus Mechanicus and the Brotherhood Of Steel. Their most prized relics would of course be their heavily armed and armored power suits.

    >Epicness is Epic.

    "Duly noted Ogden."

You slowly get up, and, after considering donning a tunic, decide not to, leaving the wagon with your torso bare, revealing the bandages covering your wound.

The caravan has stopped, and the main host stands at attention in front of you, nearly two-thousand strong. At first, you worry that you will not be heard, but you notice Ogden at your side.

"The trees and the wind will relay your words, my Lord."

You nod, and then turn to the soldiers.

"Men! Last night was the first victory the people of Dessex have secured against a proper enemy in many years! We no longer fight mere barbarians, but an organized enemy!"

You hear a few cheers, and murmurs of agreement bubble amongst the crowd.

    "AND WE DESTROYED THEM!"

The men erupt into cheers and shouts, as well as a few rather harsh insults concerning the parentage of the Umbrans. After a few moments, it finally settles, and you continue. You gesture towards your (still somewhat bloody) bandages, and continue speaking.

"I stand before you, now, as proof that while I am blessed to be your lord, I am also a man. I bleed like any of you. But that shall not stop me!"

    More cheers.

    "That shall not stop us!"

The ground begins to shake, as the dwarves stomp upon the earth, their voices like bronze gongs.

"Soon we shall fight like men possesed! And we will show the Umbrans WHAT TRUE SOLDIERS ARE MADE OF!"

You are almost deafened by the wave of jubilation that reaches your ears. With a grin, you slowly turn away from the soldiers. Sir Kahl claps you on the shoulder.

    "Brilliant speech, sire."

"Thank you Kahl. But there is something serious I must attend to."

    Kahl raises an eyebrow.

    "Yes? What is it?"

"We should not have been ambushed like we were. They should not have known we were coming so quickly."

    You narrow your eyes.

"I need to speak to the Spymaster about a certain ungrateful noble."

After you have fully dressed, you make your way to Spymaster Soren's wagon.

Upon entering, you see several of his birdies - all of them wearing Werewolf cloaks - standing silently behind him, as he sits down behind a table, drinking tea.

"An impressive performance, my Lord. I have never seen the men so jubilant."
