I am not the DM of this game. Thats Indonesian Gentleman. He can bring it up to speed, for new players here is whats going on. See the archived posts for the details, here are the basics. We are one continent of the world, right now we have two tribes in close alliance, in the process of incorperating a third tribe. There is a race of "hoppas" that are on their own at the moment. A race of sun worshiping plants, a tribe of mining/ digging metal workers, and a tribe of islanders. there is also some other bullshit but i cant remember it at the moment. Long story short...sit by and enjoy the show, or make a tribe/ take over one of the abandoned tribes. Indonesian gent will be more specific about that later if he wants, im just here to keep the show going.

    rolled 2, 13, 19, 9, 17 = 60

The Ta'Mirel had finally settled back down from their most reccent exploits, laiden with resources that were stockpiled while a major portion of the tribe was involved with the K'Lahk enclave to the Fo'Wil. The returning members brought stories of their origins, of the Fo'Wil frowgs, and fat stacks of frilla based resources.
    ----------------------------------
The Ta'Mirel organized into development clusters, lacking a need for sleep they worked day and night on task specific projects.
    ----------
Where The Ta'Mirel have met failure alone, they now enlist the aid of their allies to jointly develop a massive ranged throwing/ flinging device. All technology from all three tribes is reviewed for the task at hand.
    ---------------
A massive push to increase Ramel herd population was underway. Lem Tamers taught willing K'Lahk students how to handle the Ramel eggs, and NOT FUCKING EAT THEM.
    ------------------
At the Ta'Mirel stone quarry the surface veins of rock had run dry, now was the time to dig into the world itself, and reap the bounty.
    -----------------
The Lem still fresh with the discovery of oil study it in depth, attempting to improve on it, find new resources and figure out new uses for it.
    -------------
The Ramel were faster then going on foot, but if they could emulate how a Frilla leaf can float thru the air, or float on the water that would be faster still.

nothing insane. just some intermixed families and the two tribes of frowg unified under a new banner, if you need me to do art let me know, but i know the Frowg Guy, aka destroyer of worlds is better at it then me. dont read if you dont want to, spoilers ahead ((metagame time: my long term plans now are to finish a small build up of Lem forces, and continue the weaponization of the world around them by just being helpful and bending cultures towards their cause slightly, its subtle, subversive. the irony is that they are becoming the potential destroyers that they so fervently seek to stop, each offer of technology to a new tribe is not meant to bend their culture to the Lem cause, the Lem really believe they are preparing the world for the coming war...and they might be right)) end meta.
    -----------
to the new players, feel free to try and send out scouts, build allainces, etc. Its how the K'Lahk and Ta'Mirel got as far as they did. two tribes want to learn how to make a sword, both share tech when its discovered, or at least try to (sometimes gotta make a roll) one rolls low, other high, at least its there for both of em, if both roll high, sometimes a fantastic success.

reposting my latest update from the earlier thread along with the rolls I made.

    rolled 7, 7, 14, 18 = 46

The death of the shaman comes abruptly for the Nad'lun. Although the atmosphere within the tribe had been rather tense during these last few month, the shaman was still beloved by the majority of the tribe. He had guided the Nad'lun with great wisdom for decades, and his sudden passing leaves the tribe in shock.

Again, do the Nad'lun stay awake deep into the night. A grand funeral pyre is lit and the body of the shaman, along with his belogings are placed in it, so that his spirit may once again merge with the soul wind. There is no dancing this night, the Nad'lun stand and watch silently, as the fire burns away their former leader.

N'olai, is the one to lit the pyre and thus assume the role of the next shaman, although some of the elder, more experienced herders are rather skeptical about his merit for this mantle.

The next day, is still a day of mourning, but the Nad'lun still continue their duties. Hrass is harvested, hoppas herded and the scouts move out to the unknown territories past the river, in search of new grazing land.

The amulet that was grafted to the shamans head is uncovered by N'olai, beneath the ashes of the pyre, virtually unharmed. Many of the Nad'lun had already forgotten about this thing, as the shaman had only exposed it once. This discovery sends his mind in motion.
This amulet had set these events in motion in the first place. Where did it come from? What is it?

Suddenly, a sense of dread fills him. He carefully puts the amulet into his pouch, afraid of touching it, and carries it to the shaman's former hut. There he starts digging through the memories and knowledge the shaman transferred, for clues about the amulet.

Rolling for harvest, herding, scouting and memory digging.

Ta'Mirel- Even unified the three tribes failed to develop a seige weapon. A by product of the failure though is alcohol. it was developed instead, and is a direct cause to the failure of research. Enjoy fermented Ragas fruit. It will kill Lem, so they cant enjoy it.
-- For Fo'Wil and K'Lahk have learned to ease off eating Ramel eggs and how to better tend to their beasts. The breeding population has increased slightly, and the Frowg children can be seen running with baby ramel nipping at their feet.
    --
Research into oil has yielded that it is slippery, no major developments in composition, but crushing Frilla vines is a new source of oil.
    ----------
Digging deep into the continent the Ta'Mirel find a new and abundant source of stone, as well as developing subterranean rooms and habitations. After accidentally blowing up a tunnel the Lem discovered explosive minerals.
    --------
It was a Frog child's toy kite that inspired a Solider-Killer. After a few rough falls the Lem have developed simple gliders. Launching themselves from the top of cliffs and frilla trees the Ta'Mirel have become highly effective scouts.

Onolkeshan- The discovery of metal has propelled the tribe forward. Crude stone tools gave way to simple metal tools, the simple metal tools made finer and finer tools. Now the steel of the Onolkeshan is their greatest treasure, weapons sharp and true cleave thru armor. The culture of the Onolkeshan honors the blacksmith and miner. Stone-working has slightly improved with the advent of metal joints, bolts, and scaffolding.

Rolling for harvest, herding, scouting and memory digging.

At first, the banks of their river settlement brimmed. Silt filled water nourished the crops, the herd at the surplus and grew large and fat. Life was good. Then the banks of the river flooded and swept away several tuft hoppas, washed away a quarter of their harvest of Hrass, and flooded their village. The Scouts returned shortly after, reporting a tribe to the north, that had plenty and offered food. To the further south the scouts found Hoppa breeds previously too wild to control. ((pick an extra breed of hoppa to add to your herd, roll to control it with a combination of pheromone and the new telepathy powers.))
    -----
N'olai stared at the amulet and became fixated, a slight touch...and time was lost, words, wisdom, concerns...all from the previous shaman of the tribe. The day had burned away, and the amulet was missing. N'olai only noticed much later, the amulet was fixed firmly to him. The world was visable to him, even with his eyes shut. In the dark, asleep, the spirit way was with him always, vivid, bright, and even the dark...it was all beautiful and overwhelming.

((never got satisfied with this but then again I'm short on time so yea. Sorry about how long this took))

And so it is that upon return, the Frowgs of K'Lahk, along with their new families, dive again with fervor into the construction of the Great Hall. Before long, it is finished, the only other construction tasks being the expansion of family homes.

The building is made primarily of stone, great slabs bound together with a paste made from crushed Ragas root mixed with dirt traces of frilla. The entrance is flanked by two hollow pillars of stone, words telling the history of the Hall covering them from top to bottom. All around the base, the symbols of the great families who worked on the hall are scribed, carved into the wall and painted. The floor of the hall is above the natural ground level, made with backed mud with ground frilla and stone mixed in for strength. Under the floor lies a space for a great fire to be made in the cold periods, the smoke from which is sent under the base of the hall to warm it before coming out through the massive pillars at the front.

All in all the K'Lahk are satisfied with what they have wrought and have a grand festival to break it in, sending invitations to their Ta'Mirel and Fo'will allies.

    >No, those were the Jenter. Falc started them.

    >Badly written fluff incoming
The Burrahn live in the vines hanging from treetops, weaving them along with fallen branches into hanging huts. They worship Kraless, their name for the sun, that which gives life. When Kraless is at its highest point, many of these Mevola will gather at the tops to bask in their god's radiance, reinvigorating them.
They have a creation myth where a tree taller than all others managed to reach Kraless, and upon this, some of its life-giving light passed into this colossus, and from its bark the Burrahn emerged. But this tree was very old and nearing the end of its life. Soon after, it fell and returned to the earth. From this, the light taken into the trunk of the Great Tree pass into the soil, and thus to those which it had long towered over, and now to this day the saplings of the Burrahn still grow from their bark.

Fwill marched off into a blizzard, the worst of his generation. Accompanied only by K'Lahk Frowg, to accomplish a deed of legend. Battling up the Mountain claimed but untamed by the K'lahk they sought a beast of unrivaled supremacy. One by one the elements claimed the brave frowg warriors. In the end, only bold Fwill was left. Standing at the top of the mountain he croaked his challenge, and it was so loud it ripped across the tundra. He waited a day and a night, and his challenge was answered by Valorishous, the largest, and oldest Ramel. Its blade horn gigantic, chipped from age, and war. The ancient Ramel looked to the small creature before it, begging for an end to its extended life, a final worthy fight. Thunder and lightning raged in the blizzard, unseen before. Fwill, and Valorishous were never heard from again. Fwill became a tragic hero of Frowg legend, to be sung around fires at night. A warning that even the strongest, alone, is easily broken.
    -----
Following the loss of Fwill the K'Lahk did not expand easily, but they were able to add on to the central village project, bringing their territory closer to the Ta'Mirel, as well as begin a road project to the Fo'Wil.

The Burrahn have long hunted hoppas and the closely related Flouz, but a herd this large has never been seen by the tribe. They must have come from somewhere.

Although these glund have grown sluggish, they were still a challenge to take down with their thick carapaces, (I believe) electrified horns and poison. Luckily there were no deaths and few injuries. These creatures seem that they may have a myriad of uses.

Rolling for sending a party to find out where the herd came from; figuring out that parts of the glund are innedible before some bad poisoning happens; if that is successful, poisoned weapons, and finally fashioning armor from the shells.

N'olai struggeled to commune with the soulwinds, his mind still was reeling from experiencing the previous shamans memories first hand, and without control they came in flashes at any moment breaking the concentration required for communion with the soulwinds...the amulet was almost a storage device, each users life collected by it. Oddly enough at his greatest moment of despair the elder shaman spoke to him, he told him in time that his mind would settle, and he would be able to see what was in the history of the amulet from before the shaman. N'olai was overjoyed to hear from his old mentor, untill he realized that in the Shamans dieing moments he thought these last things, just so in time the you apprentice would recieve them. It was both touching, and painful, to have his mentor return, and then again have him so quickly taken away. As the creature calms down, and becomes passive, the the tribe bursts into cheers. Now, N'olai has two great deeds in his name. The screaming hoppas have been communed with before, but they are almost always extremely hard to pacify, and thus, the have never really been integrated to the herd. Their minds are too aggressive and stubborn for allowing the full scope of the scent way to reach them.

Now with telepathy however, N'olai could finally preach the shield of rage that clouds their minds, and convey a simple message to the beast's head. Calm down, everything is fine here.

The Nad'lund attempt to use the creature as a watch dog at first. They are notoriously territorial, a trait that is less prominent in the constantly moving packs of Flash Hoppas, which had been used for this job previously.

As they are also hardier and bigger than their tuft hoppa cousins, they could make for great labor creatures. The mega hoppas are so big, that their strength only has limited uses, but the screaming hoppas are more compact, and thus they could be used in more varied ways.

But even with such great development the problem with food still stays. As farming near city was no longer an option, the great leader of the tribe decided that it's time for Onolkeshan to win it's fears and start expanding to south near the sea. Not too difficult to steal a hoppa from the disorientated splinter herd. the starvation of your people is understandable, and they are hurting for sustenance. ((this herd is made of the lost members swept away from various floods and disasters of the Nad'lun herd. some of them are sentient hoppas.)) Your actions towards this group of refugees will determine the course of your tribe. will you commit a crime of necessity and steal just a few, and leave the rest? shepherd the herd back to the whole? Slaughter them all? or something in between all those choices?

The Burrahn do not know anything about the others. Their culture has developed isolated from the rest. Non-tribal Hoppas and other creatures have always been present, but never in the large herds that accompany the Nad'lun.
In their religion, there are nameless gods higher than Kraless (the sun), but it wasn't them which created the Burrahn, which that is their focus. So for first contact with the outside world, it won't shake the foundations of their culture. Everything on the earth has some of the spirit of Nemir (The Great Frilla who touched Kraless).

All in all, the Burrahn may have curiosity toward others, but wouldn't drive them out unless they started causing them trouble. I can't say the same thing about if they were to cross paths with the Jenter. There we may get a holy war.

Grinning, or at least as close of an approximation as a Lem can to a grin the scout jumped off of the frilla tree and aimed into the deep gorge around the village. The glider strapped to him unfolded and went instantly from being a burden on the land, to a gift. Using the momentum of the fall he pulled upwards and giving the pully system a few tugs managed to gain lift and climb. It was part of scout training, and it was the best day of of the lem's life.

Carrying heavy armor and weapons was hard work, but the effort of constantly controlling and fighting a glider was worse, and with no armor and only a bow. Today though, was a treat, they would be testing out a new weapon. It would only work once, but he was told that was all he needed. Holding it with both claws and pressing firmly into the shoulder, the lem utilized its prehensile head tail to use a smouldering torch to ignite the volatile compounds within this strange tube. A moment later an explosion blasted out the front of the tube, and shrapnel came flying out, faster then anything has ever moved before on this world, only a few pieces hit their mark, the rest peppered the wall around it. After setting down the smoking tube the Lem observed the damage. It was indiscriminate, horrific, and absolute when it hit, and where it hit. Scouts should return home with the knowledge they have gathered as it is the greatest priority to get info back home. While scouts are returning one of them get idea to make something that helps remembering the route they used. As Lems have great memory they haven't needed maps before because their kingdom is still small and doesn't have that much remembering, But this whole treck to the other side of continent is great deal of new information and some of it might be stored too deep to remember. Thus they might need something to make them remember. a map, well something akin to it as it has less information than map because Lem only need to remember the way.

The lem recieved an explanation of what happened later, and decided that they needed to create a system to communicate with the hoppa. The frowg and lem aided in unloading the cargo, and reconstructing the village with the new and foreign materials. There was a dance competition between the frowg and hoppa, even the two lem participated, but lem are bad at dancing, unless it is heavy metal dancing, then it can be assumed they are quite good, as that is mostly face smashing. ((roll a 1d2 to see who won the dance, and go from there, im rolling a 1d20 to see if the lem figure out a simple way to communicate.))

The supplies greatly aid the Nad'lun and the strange guests that brought them are met with curiosity. Although the differences in thought patterns still create a language barrier of sorts, the hoppas are able to telepathically convey rudimentary messages to the frogmen.

The survivors in the Burrahn territory have been separated from the main tribe for months now. To my understanding, they also lack the telepathic abilities. Their herd is small, and continues to shrink under the predation of the natives of this area. In these long months, they have been forced to become ruthless scavengers in order to survive.
They are led by K'nula, a warrior who has taken up the task to protect the splinter herd. They do not know where they are, and they have started their rapid cultural separation from the main Nad'lun tribe. They label themselves Na'suul, which means "Those who endure."

sorry, forgot about the fishing. your tribe learns how to throw nets off of the shore and drag fish in. This is not the most efficent way, but it is a start.
----------your roll is unnecessary for this, this part is more choice and effect/ repercussion then anything else.

The Ta'Mirel tell the Onolkeshan of their history and culture. In Ta'Mirel culture everyone helps everyone, there is no need of leadership due to the instinctual cooperation. They are also preparing for a war that will come some day, and to that end must make sure everyone is as prepared as they can be too. Even if the Onolkeshan have no interest in war, perhaps they can be persuaded to exchange knowledge with the Ta'Mirel conclave. Finally, If the tribal leaders agree to an alliance they will be incorporated into the Enclave, where they will shall and recieve all technology discovered by the individual tribes in the enclave. They will gain protection, and share resources. In exchange they will be expected to share resources, offer aid, and share knowledge, and aid in preperation for the "tomorrow war". Finally a they must host a small population in their villages and cities from the other tribes to promote cultural understanding and unity.
    ---------
Being that the Onolkeshan are Lem, they will be uniquely able to learn exactly why the Ta'Mirel are so driven, by sharing genetic memory. The Ta'Mirel show them, the ancestral memory of the Nightmare Spirit invading their minds, demanding they stand by its side in destroying the world. That they refused, and the knowledge that it would come in time anyway....other memories came out, of their ancestral alliance with the tundra Frowg, of older more vauge memories before they were what they are now...then no more.

    I don't recall making one.
There were the winged flouz creatures, but they died out in the firestorm extinction event.
And besides, they were an evolutionary dead end anyways. They had no eyes, nor did they poses any other reliable way of navigating their environment, so it's no wonder why they died.

If IG does a traditional evo thread on the other continents I might continue evolving the flouz.
A stray swarm of the original floating flouz could have been blown to other continent.
I hope that this is the case, as I feel that they still have great potential that was left much unexplored.

The roll for diplomacy was more like how advantageous the deal in diplomacy would be for Onolkeshan but to me your decision was right for the roll of 9.

Many of the population are exalted with the new knowledge brought by joining the eclave but there are also many that are worried with letting outsiders in to their cities. To keep the unrest from growing the leaders decided that the other races will have their own districts in the city. That way they are in the city but there is little boundary that keeps the Lem calmer.

With the sharing of genetic memory the Onolkeshan gained the knowledge of Ta'Mirels Cannon. This would be answer to their problem with ranged weaponry and with their more advanced tools and materials it was easy to replicate the cannon and even make it little advanced. Still there are some who say that the cannon should be even bigger and more powerful while some say that they should make them smaller and more compact to be used by infantry.

With the news of other Lem and joining the enclave it took no time that there was new law proposed. While Onolkeshan themself gained great deal of knowledge by sharing genetic memory with Ta'Mirel many are horrified by the possibilty how easily Ta'Mirel could "steal" their knowledge. Thus the new law states that if any non Onolkeshan Lem takes genetic memory from Onolkeshan Lem they must ether be killed or join Onolkeshan tribe.
While Onolkeshan have no right to decide fates of other Lems they are so obsessed with their knowledge that it blinds them to think that it's their right.
Onolkeshan should not be seen as greedy Lems that only care for themselves. They will cladly trade their products with other tribes for materials and knowledge but they don't want to give the knowledge itself to others. And to make the trade happen they start to build roads to west.

So. Rolls for Big cannons, Small cannons and roads to west

big cannons built. they are pretty big, but not the biggest, and sadly not mobile. small cannons blow up too frequently to be safe. they are an effective form of suicide. roads to the west, extremely well done and in a very timely manner.
    ----
Sharing of genetic memory: Im going to let you go with this one, just because joining the enclave gives you full access to the local tech, but if a lem is alive and they share genetic memory, its limited, not full access. More a history, then a set of skills, so your lem would know what happened, but not how. this explanation works with your story anyway.
    ------
Onolkeshan would have to create a new district for the outsiders, as Lem do not sleep, and living quarters are required for non lem. it is hoped in time the Onolkeshan will grow used to their new "family".
    --
Read the terms of joining the Enclave again, the sharing of technology is petty much forced. the Onolkeshan are now part of something larger, and that something larger is now part Onolkeshan. Your ways have expanded to become something bigger, and in turn it bleeds into them. They may not like it, but they agreed to it. (plus that roll doesnt leave much room for arguement)

Some speaded the rumors how the officials had betrayed the people in joining the enclaive and how the Onolkeshan people would lose all their knowledge. Of course people ridiculed that because as all of them had seen it was Onolkeshan who gained new knowledge. Time passed and some traders claimed that they had seen similar products being produced in western lands. Of course they also were ridiculed for they were only traders and everybody knows that people who sells news to highest bidder cannot be trusted. More time passed and people started to find products that were similar to theirs even though they were most of the time inferior quality. This made the people worried. What if the rumors were true? The pair leads the tribe with their combined wisdom and knowledge, N'olai with his shamanic expertise, stalwart example and charisma, An'ua with her gentle guidance, compassion and social skills. They will acknowledge the concerns of the council so long as they are just, and protect the interestes of the greater whole. They will raise an army of every Ta'Mirel, and any willing Frowg, train it, and equip it with the best, in times of need they will defend the enclave, and in times of peace they will prepare tirelessly for when the Tomorrow war comes.

The Ta'Mirel terms are accepted and will remain so unless their presence is deemed to have negative impact. This changes things such that if any Lem wishes to be on the Council or anywhere the Lastér government they must swear allegiance to the Lastér and follow it's laws and ways.

They are more reluctant to accept the help or presence of the Onolkeshan Lem. They are not like the Ta'Mirel, more secretive and they bicker even more than Frowgs. If the Ta'Mirel will vouch for them then they will be allowed under supervision. In terms of building they will only be allowed to help with the outer wall and be paid for their work with food, coin or promised assistance in a matter of their choosing. Payment outside this must be discussed by the council first.

On a mission from god. The Ta'Mirel acccept the gracious offer of their ancient allies. The bond is true and just. The existing Frowg soldiers are offered a position in the Enclave army, under the direction of the Council, during peace times it will be a force of progression. Lem spread out to work on tunneling into the mountains and under the city. the remaining lem divide to work on a great fortification around the city, and a new "great Hall" Built into the side of the mountain, a giant spire towering above the city, quite literally a city within the city when complete. This is what the Ta'Mirel use their building into the metal age for.

The Lem were at a loss. The enclave seemed to be less benevolent as of late. All the lem have ever wanted to do was to help the planet, but the dark stain of a past attempt at help turned to disaster still haunts their memories. They need to get closer to the source. This would be beneficial, the Giant lem as of late were raiding frowg villages, murdering without remorse. They were an embarrassment to the Ta'Mirel. A whisper of what they used to be like in another form. The giant lem would be stopped, and if they could not be controlled, they would be killed, and consumed. As the anger of the people didn't come out in the form of rebellion the situation is somewhat getting better. There are still some unrest but with the help of other enclave forces in the city people were pacified more quickly as their words did have impact amongst the population. When the call for building the walls for enclaves new town came, many were ready to go. Those walls will be grand and with new heavy cannons the defences would be great. Also with the unrest starting to lower the building of new district for other enclave races can be started.

Officials also had idea how to handle with rebellious people. They would start settling more areas and with that the people who didn't want to live with enclave could leave the city but still help the tribe.

In short. Onolkeshan workers will help with walls of new enclave city. Rolls for building the districts for enclave in their cities, Expansion towards the mountains to the north and also expansion along the coast.

Oh and with advancement in tech level (as IG said) Onolkeshan will continue their growth in the skill of building constructions.

One day, a young Nad'lun child got too close to the river and was almost washed away. Luckily for the child, he was saved by an ingenious older hoppa, who used a large piece of Yantar bark to float in the water, so that he could reach the child.

YOU KNOW NOT THE HORRORS OF THE RAGAS?
    it is time you learned

Let us begin with the Mobile ragas.

As their names suggest they have the ability to move, not only their upper segments, but their roots as well,, often lashing out and dragging under smaller creatures.
A distinct feature is their ability to detach their upper segments, walking along in search of prey or new supplies, leaving their roots to grow yet another Ragas while the top settles down and grows new roots.

They strip the area of nutrients in a flash, their hunger insatiable. They store extra energy in a concentrated root section and their fruit.

They are parasitic and contain injectors to implant seeds in other creatures where they take root quickly claim any energy the host would take for itself, starving the creature, and killing it in hours, leaving a broken corpse for them to grow from.

Think I've covered the basic mobile ragas. Oh yes, they love to prey on lem above all others but still take anythign they can get.

Next are the intelligent ragas, a more refined breed.

While they share the parasitic nature of their brothers, they do nut hunt, but use a sophisticated lure to drag prey in where they then shoot out small seedlings with shaped leaves that fall on the foe.

These take root on the prey or fall off at another location and take root there.

They have a primitive consciousness mainly formed around identifying their surroundings. They feature a complex chemical based databank in their roots that they use to record locations, temperatures, prey, weather, climate that sort of thing. Furthermore they are able to network with any other Intelligent ragas they find, upping processing power and knowledge of the world.

They also posses limited mobility which they use to shoot seeds at flying creatures and take them down.

They are pretty normal ragas except that they eat meat...and have a root system that stretches out for HUNDREDS of meters around it and strong enough and large enough to pull down a frowg child whole.

Thankfully the ragas are more or less confined to the Tundra.
at least until this next evolution.

They still have the ice armour.
i.e. The carn ragas secrets a supercool liquid that freezes on contact with air, forming armour for itself. It melts off during the day and it does some rapid growth and forms the armour again at night,

don't go out into the tundra at night.

(Gonna stick with new tribe, to get a feel for the game. Will more than likely merge with a larger tribe at some point.)

Natives of point N, the Mo'Shunka tribe have toiled long and hard to carve out a meager existence for themselves in the barren, unforgiving islands of the north. Inspired by the mountains of the mainland, the tribe worships the earth as both the giver of life and the bringer of death, believing the gods long ago retreated to slumber in the dark places beneath the earth. Shamans of old have tried again and again to reach the mainland and its heroic mountains, but all have failed... until now. With the passing of the eldest shaman, the mantle now passes to his youngest son, by right of tradition and birth. Though many scoff at his so-called "visions", he is determined to lead his tribe out of the darkness and into glory!

As the new leader of the tribe, his first order of business is to send out a hunting party to replenish depleted food supplies. The shaman also spends a few hours meditating, attempting to call out to the gods for guidance. The fishermen confer with a few of the gatherers to attempt an improvement on the boats the tribe currently owns.

(Rolls are for hunting, meditating, and improving tech, respectively.)

    Another question IG.
Regarding the traditional evo threads, in which we focus on the development of the species themselves, and not the tribes, are you going to do them on the other continents too?
Also: In what time regarding the tribal development do they take place?
I assumed that the tundra evo thread, took place chronologically at the same time when compared to the mainland evo thread, while the arctic ocean stuff was going on from before the start of the land game, and during the tundra thread.

See the picture for demonstration of what I mean.

So what I want to ask, if you do another evo thread on the other continents, will you start before the "current" tribal era?

Here we go, then... Mo'Shunka on the map!
    Ta'mirel:
Only some Frowgs volunteer for the army, usually the young ones eager to prove something. There are some older, experienced hunters in the head-count, though.
In other news, a mining attempt at the mountains turn sour due to lack of proper supports built. At least a dozen miners lost their lives, and the superstition of the mountain grows in the populace. After rethinking what went wrong, the Ta'mirel tried digging under the city, with proper support beams this time. They're proceeding successfully.
After knowledge sharing with the Onokelshan, the city's walls are built as marvelously as Geshud Deler, rivaling it in being a landmark. Meanwhile, the inner city, since it is built with the accomodations of different species in mind, is proceeding slower.

Laster (I'll assume it's the same as the Enclave? I'm kinda confused at the differences between the Enclave and the Frowg-Lem alliance):
They successfully impart the knowledge on how to read and write to the Nad'Lun, but the Nad'Lun treat it more as a trade language than one to advance culture with.
The Laster discovered Coinage! Skilled artisans now churn out stone and metal coins, on one side is the crude picture of the Great Hall, while on the other a slightly better Fwill's Axe. Meanwhile, road construction has stopped due to materials being used to make the new city... which, sadly, is kinda built haphazardly. But hey, at least it'll have a bitchin' wall to protect it from the elements! Fortunately, some concerned citizens pointed this out, so it's only haphazard in some areas.
In the meantime, the Ramel herding operation is going smoothly, but without any notable events as well.
Some settlers are also expanding northwards, in an effort to unify the Laster lands.

I recall IG asking for the Na'suul emblem.

The splinter croup has rapidly developed a ruthless and cut throat culture. The herds they guard are now used mainly as attack dogs, and guard dogs. The tuft hoppas are nowhere to be seen, as they were either killed by the natives and eventually the Na'suul themselves, as they lacked the brutal strength of the mega hoppas and the predatory cunning of the flash hoppas.

K'nula, the warrior leader of the group is leading the raid herd to the coast, closely following the river, in search of prey.

    Nad'Lun:
With the arrival of the rain, the shoddily built huts are renovated with fresh, good mud. Some knowledge gained from the Frowgmen and the Lem were used to make them long-lasting.
In the meantime, Nad'Lun discovered Simple Boats! They now can travel along the river and the coast. That old Hoppa sparked some interesting ideas, and soon the Nad'Lun tied up Frila barks and made them waterproof using burnt Hrass paste.

I also missed the Ta'mirel hunt on the Giant Lems, here's how it goes:
They find the Giant Lems easily, for they seem to inhabit caves. Some of the patrols were defeated; While others managed to kill some Giant Lems. Both sides suffer casualties, but thankfully it seems the Giant Lem does not have the ability to gain knowledge by eating dead Lem. On the other hand, the Lem has learned more of their genetic memory from the fallen Giant Lem... The memories became clearer. They were once plentiful, and helping the world by giving it more air to breathe - but in their naivety, these early Lem had caused a disbalance. This threw the world into fiery chaos, volcanoes erupting and massive lives lost. Several creatures became extinct. Afterwards, the surviving Lems retreated into caves, terrified of something they had no control of. Then they gradually developed to the Lem as we know them now.

The Nad'lun use their boats to explore both the downstream and the upstream of the great river.
They also try to use the boats for fishing.

An'ua has taken the role of the great mother (seriously, could someone PLEASE help me with coming up a better name for this social role. Young minder sounds dumb, brood mother gives the wrong mental image, and matriarch doesn't really fit either.), her body is painted with vibrant colors to mark her status.
In time, she will bear the new generation of Nad'lun in the village she helped to found.

Brief look in the Nad'lun gender roles.
As I have previously stated, all hoppa species are hermaphrodites. Like slugs, they are all capable of both bearing and siring offspring.
The tribal hoppas however, give birth to few more developed young, instead of spawning hundreds of small semi developed floating larvae.
The pregnancy takes it's toll on the tribal hoppa, making them less capable at their duties. To counter this, the tribal hoppas have evolved a more "feminine" mentality, that manifests in certain hoppas, making them more inclined to take the motherly role. In the Nad'lun society , this has led to the development of a specialized mother role, who both gives birth to the children of the tribe, as well as takes care for them.
So when I call certain Nad'luns either him or her, note that this doesn't actually mean that they have different genders.
N'olai is just as capable of giving birth as An'ua is, but he is just mentally less inclined to.

Rolling for scouting the downstream and the upstream, fishing and seeing how well An'ua's traits transfer to her children.

With the Enclave district built other races were able to start their works and living in earnest. With co-operation there will be many new routes to research. Onolkeshan Alchemists were especially interested in Frowgs Bodily properties like electricity and poisons but didn't want to cause conflict by starting to research them.

Fishing in coast have been better after new advancement in techiques and tools but the nets only abled Onolkeshan to get fishes from the coast. Fishers told how they have seen bigger fishes farther in the sea but they have no means to get them.

Many great minds started to work after this request. They knew how some materials would float on water ,like trees and other vegetation, but as Onolkeshan territory was in cold north there was not enough materials like that to build them. They would need to find some other materials to make this happen. With new metal tools they can continue to harness the earth even more. To make seaworthy ships Onolkeshan will need someone who doesn't have genetical fear towards water to help them. This is why emissary was sent to Ta'Mirel to ask if they would want to help them with this quest as it would benefit them both.

To the north and south, news comes in of Bladeworms. The Burrahn have long known about the fliers. They had encounters in which one would kill a Purple Flouz which had been attacking one of the tribesmen. What struck the chief and council odd was the appearance of these new "walking" worms. Never before has this been seen in the creatures.
It is unknown if these worms take interest in the Burrahn, being plants unlike what they usually hunt. Regardless, they are known to be fierce predators, and better ranged weapons would be needed in the case one attacked.

Alright, here is my final update for today.

K'nula became the leader of Na'suul trough his heroics. He managed to save the splinter herd from aggressive pack of mevolites with the combination of brutal cunning and sheer determination. When all seemed to be lost, he jumped on the back of a mega hoppa, and drove it straight towards the carnivorous plant creatures. As they attempted to bring down the massive hoppa, K'nula jumped from it's back, and drove his spear trough the most aggressive mevolite. He used the panicking mega hoppa's body to shield himself from the majority of the plant predators, allowing him to face his assailants in single combat. His valor inspired the rest of the former Nad'lun to charge the mevolites with screams filled with desperate fury. They flung rocks and spears at the ravenous plants, and eventually, they drove them away. K'nula lost one of his eyes in the battle, but he also gained the indisputable loyalty of the survivors. The splinter group labeled themselves the Na'suul, "Those who endure", and from that day forward, they believed that only trough strength, courage and ruthlessness can they survive these harsh lands the river had spilled them into.

Pic related. It is unfinished though.

Meant as in Mevola for the second roll. I hope this means they don't.

Also, not long until a new thread will be needed. Continue funny chatter in this one after hitting the bump limit?

I don't know if keeping this thread alive would even matter. We are only a couple of posts away from the bumb limit anyways. I just hope IG reads this from the archives when he makes a new one.

Eager to foster a sense of true belonging within the enclave for the Onolkeshan the Ta'mirel actively include the errant tribe in research, development, and study. Together the combined force of Lem finished The Great fortification of the Enclave's captial city progressed and is complete. The Ramparts, towers, and walls became a city to themselves, beyond that, a gorge dug so deep as to rival any natural one. Soaring above, towers to pierce the sky, and with a maw of cannons. The Onolkeshan tribe proved their value. With that first project finished, the Ta'Mirel aided the Onolkeshan in studying boat building. Metal cups were discovered to float if set in the water carefully, and scouts reported that the Nad'Lun had learned to create floating objects. The Nad'Lun were not an Enclave race, but they were a protected neighbor. Perhaps they would be willing to educate the Onolkeshan scholars on the subject. This would also teach the Onolkeshan to be less xenophobic, if they could work and learn from such a race unlike themselves.
    -----------------
The Ta'Mire continue digging under the city, trying again to cleave into the mountain, and expanding on the City spire.
    ---------------
rolling for: Onolkeshan escorted to, and contacting the Nad'Lun. Expansion of city tunnels/ mining, expansion into mountain side/ mining, and building more of the city spire.

The Fortification of the Great city is done, the spire is constructed. Underground tunnels cant be seen, but they are there...oh fuck are they there.

    rolls missing from shit.

Falc, either draw stuff you want in the middle, or tell me what you want and supply some sample art for what is to be there.
    -------------
The Ta'Mirel seek to communicate with the more open minded of the Onolkeshan. They are great learners, and craftsmen. It would be of benefit for them to set up a center of learning, study, and works. If the Onolkeshan and Frowg can be convinced it would likely be beneficial.
