You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind. You quickly became embroiled in corporate warfare, fighting the PMC ArmaTek and their employers, Cadmium Dynamics. EE also has constructed somewhat of a beneficial alliance with a corp called Kawasagi Infinite. You were recently kidnapped by a group calling itself Resurgence, who claims they're Saving The World. In retaliation, you went all the way to Antarctica, where you took over one of Resurgence's facilities. You're currently hiding out in your heavily guarded facility, Valhalla, doing your best to arm up and seek out information on Resurgence, and recently discovered that Omega was a mole for Resurgence, and in the process, secured Lucca as an ally.>You have 50000 credits.>You have 1 fate reroll.
"So, you've just been sitting here, eating snacks since you left?" Lucca's asking Amy, who are both sitting on the couch."No, not at all." Amy responded. "This is just down time. We're both busy, and Dave's been on that uplink pretty much constantly." She says."But you haven't gotten anywhere.""We found Omega, didn't we?""You stole a piano, stole parts for a . . superweapon, and only found out Omega when we attacked you."
>>19211686Send a message to Abel to have them put Lucas body in the freezer/stasis chamber.
>>19211686"We've been at it, what, two days? I'd say that's pretty good process. We also found out that 12 is somewhere underwater, and I hacked into an underwater sonar array that I have yet to take advantage of."
<Abel.> You say, tapping the uplink with your hand as you send a message to the dropbox, inspired by something- but you're not sure what. <Ensure that Lucas's body is put in a freezer, or some kind of stasis chamber.><That I can do, but. . Why?>"We've only been at it for, what, two days? I'd say that's pretty good process. We also found out that Twelve is somewhere underwater, and I hacked into an underwater research facility, complete with a sonar array that I have yet to take advantage of." You say."Then you should take advantage of it." Lucca said. "Right now.""Dave needs some downtime, I'd say." Amy says. "After all, he almost passed out when you sent that swarm at us."Lucca's sudden ferocity fell, and she looked to the ground, sheepishly."Sorry."
"At least, if you want downtime, Dave." Amy said suddenly, turning to you. "Like, I'm sure helping me might be a nice change from whatever you do with your satellite uplink. Or we could just hang out. But if you really want to get the info from the research facility, I won't stop you."
>>19211883"Maybe just a little break... But I really want to catch that bastard."
>>19211883A few hours spent with Amy and Lucca, to take the latter's mind off things seems good. Has she even been to Antarctica?
"Maybe just a little break." You say. "But I really want to catch that bastard.""We all do." Amy says, and you sit down. You realize that you've been standing for hours, and sitting, even in the power suit, was strangely relaxing."Those tripwires were everywhere." Lucca said. "If I hadn't noticed the first one. . That's a clever way of finding cloaked units.""CD came up with it." You say. "They had those set up when I stole the computer mainframe and the power core.""Huh. Speaking of mainframe, there was a lot of data on those." Amy said. "You get anything on what they were about?""Most of it was just gibberish." You say. "But I did see a paper on some kind of weapon.""I'll take a look." Amy said, and got up, rolling towards the command room, leaving you alone with Lucca."Again, I'm sorry." Lucca said. "For. .trying to kill you."
"Daaaave!" Amy called suddenly. You got up and followed her, Lucca looming up behind. She's at the terminal, reading, and her eyes are alight."Dave. We have a primary weapon for the drone." She said. "Now, you know how power shielding works, right? Repulses anything offensive that gets in their area, right? Now, what happens if you repulse the same thing, twice at the same time, at different angles, if they use different areas as anchor points?""Uh. . .""Disintegration!" Amy declared, and hit her own palm.
>>19212033"We have plans for a DISINTEGRATOR CANNON!?"Time for best evil villain cackle and finger-steepling.
"We have plans for a DISINTEGRATION CANNON?!" You cackle, steepling your fingers."Not plans, just a theory." Amy admonishes. "They had a few issues with it. Issues I might be able to fix. With Epona's help. And then, of course, there's some more info here, but I can't make any sense of it.""That's the gibberish I was talking about." You say."It. . might be encrypted. Enciphered?" Lucca said. "KI ran into this kind of stuff earlier, and couldn't make sense of it either."
>>19212141"Hmm... guess I'll have to be on the lookout for a possible key. Doubt they will store it anywhere I could gain access to."
>>19212189We could always try to magic bullshit hack it
"Hmm. . . I guess I'll have to be on the lookout for a key. I doubt they'll store it anywhere I could gain access to." You say."Come on, Dave." Amy said. "You act as if you can't just tear your way into any building in the world with those power claws. You can gain access anywhere, by this point. Or you could just try to magic bullshit hack it." She adds."It's not magic." You say."Then how exactly do you do it?""Well, I just. . focus." You say."Which explains how you can hack things wirelessly that don't have wireless recievers." Amy said. "And the only way to stop you is with a faraday shield or EMP protection. That's completely not magical in any way, shape, or form." She added, sticking her tongue out. Then she shrugged."Let's go get dinner, shall we?""This is pretty good." Lucca says. "What is this?""Penguin." Amy says. "Hate the little bastards.""What?""Kidding, kidding. Penguin isn't nearly as good. A bit more rubbery." Amy said. "You ever been to Antarctica before?""No, I just lived in Toronto when I got a job at KI, and then was transferred to NearFuture City."
>>19212306I'm not sure what to add here. Just have some small talk and eat food.Afterwards we'll try our hand at cracking the encryption and then try to hack over Atlantis some more with our drone's help.
>>19212348We could troll Amy's parents some more by bringing Lucca over there and calling her mistress the whole time.Or some other weird crap. Girl needs some entertainment.
>>19212306"Do you have any family left back home?"
>>19212395Dude. Don't mention her family when her brother has been killed off a few hours ago.
After a bit of small talk, and the rest of dinner, you finally think you're well enough to crack or decode the encryption with your 'magic bullshit'."So, what, he doesn't have a key, and he's still going to try?" Lucca asks."It's how he does things." Amy says. "By this point, I've given up trying to understand it.""So. . *that's* how he was stealing the drones from me? And Epsilon? He just. . brute forced everything? That should not be possible."Behind you, Amy shrugged. You placed your hand on the computer, and closed your eyes.>Roll 1d100

rolled 70 = 70>>19212430HEEEMAAAN!
"Well, the downside," You say, putting your hand and a great amount of mental strain on the computer. "Is that it doesn't work all the time. Though I think that's kind of a mental block of mine, that I'm just not able to focus enough."<Your brain is activating again.> Azure tells you, and you feel something. . twist.Suddenly, the computer beeped, and torrents of data sprawled out from the screen.". . He did it." Amy said, looking at the data. "Now I just have to make sense of it."
>>19212483We're using our brain as a parallel organic processor to make intuitive leaps in code-cracking that regular computers can't do. As opposed to, y'know, thinking and breathing and such. That's 31 flavors of fucked up.
>>19212483Lets check the data and see if we can find anything interesting. We could have Daedalus sort it out
>>19212483Damn I'm good, inconsistent, but good. I still sometimes wonder what in the hell I am, but other than that it's remarkably cool.
Damn, I'm good." You say, and loom over Amy's shoulder, taking a look.<Can you guys find anything interesting?> You ask.<I shall do my duty, and sort out this knowledge in such a way as to elevate your knowledge!> Daedalus declares, and the computer beeps. When Daedalus is done, there were three folders sitting there.Cyclic repulsion weapon theoryTK ProjectProject Immortal"The weapon theory I already read, but. . Project Immortal, and . . TK? What's TK?" Amy asked.
>>19212613"Telekinesis""Kell had that when I last fought him. Made it damn hard to get close to him"
>>19212613"Telekinesis. Kell was showing it off before he got all vaporized."
>>19212613Oh yeah, didn't really come up, Kell had some freaky telekinesis powers in our last fight. He however was arrogant about them and got melted as he stayed still and bragged that I couldn't get to him.
"Telekinesis." You say.She splutters."Kell was showing it off before he got all melted and drippy." You say, and shrug. "Made it damn hard to get close to him."She opens the folder, and starts reading. You can't make much sense of it, over her shoulder."Wait, you were on a first name basis with that guy?" Lucca asked. "Project Immortal or whatever?"You shrug. "I was the one that killed him before he became Project Immortal.""Wait. He was dead. . and then he came back as Project Immortal?" She asked, and something dawned in her eyes.
>>19212710"Yep.""I know what you're thinking."
>>19212710I know exactly what you're thinking. We have to be very careful about something like this though, there might be giant piles of side effects, I have no idea how much of the craziness was Kell and how much was Immortal. It's an option to consider but only after careful deliberation over the specifications.
rolled 26 = 26>>19212744Dis right here.
"I know what you're thinking." You say in a low voice. "But we have to be very careful about something like that. There might be giant piles of side effects, and I don't know how much of the craziness was Kell, and how much was Immortal." Lucca blinks."It's an option to consider." You say. "But only after careful deliberation.""This is genius." Amy says, apparently engrossed in the terminal. "Of course, it would be pretty useless for a normal person, even with AI support. . but for someone like Dave. . "
>>19212792"Whatever you will eventually decide Lucca, you'll have my full support. I owe Amy's life to your brother."
>>19212792"Well.... yeah, I guess so. I'm night-unkillable already.""Lucas was gen-3 too, right? We might be able to apply this on him too."
>>19212792"I really just want that telekinetic thing, I don't know about the whole... dozens and dozens of wires latching onto things like some kind of demented octopus."
"Whatever you eventually decide, Lucca, you'll have my full support." You say. "I owe Amy's life to your brother."She gives you the smallest of nods, somewhat stunned.Amy sighed. "I get the basic theory," She said, turning back. "But this is way too much data to go through. I don't think I'll be able to figure out all three of these at once." She said. "Which should I work on, Dave?">[] Disintegration cannon>[] TK Project>[] Project Immortal
>>19212904>[x] Project Immortal"If this can bring back Lucas, then we should waste no time and start immediately!"

>>19212904Project Immortal
>>19212904Ask Lucca if she wants to think more on Project Immortal. Depending on her answer, Project Immortal, or TK.
"Well. . First, see if there's a time limit on Project Immortal." You say."Wait, you're not thinking of. . " Amy said, with a glance to Lucca. "You are. You're too nice for your own good, Dave."She turned to the terminal, and started reading. "I'll be here for awhile." She said. "This isn't based on engineering, magnetic fields, or power cores, so it's not in my expertise. I'll have to learn *new* things." She said with a sigh. "So I'll have to borrow the uplink so I can go to futurewikipedia when I don't get something."
>>19213056"Okay. Have fun."Drag the piano in here and keep Amy company with some mellow music
"Okay, have fun." You say. "Want me to drag the piano in here?""Can't- the control center is way too small." Amy said. "I found out yesterday that it doubles as a panic room, did you know?""Then why didn't we activate the panic room when Lucca was in the base?" You ask.". . I didn't think about that." She said."You two are very strange." Lucca said. "I'm going to go do drone exercises."
>>19213138Suggest that she does drone exercises; to us playing Flight of the Bumblebee on the Piano.
>>19213138"It's Amy who is strange! I'm the only sane one."If Amy is using the satellite we can't work on cracking Antlantis more, or can we?
"It's Amy who's strange. I'm the only sane one." You claim. "Hey, I should play flight of the bumblebee on the piano while you do drone exercises."". . Those two sentences don't work well together." Lucca said. "But yeah, I do need to practice. I'm not used to controlling drones while walking around and stuff. I'm used to the chair. This prototype is pretty handy."
>>19213200I can't really give much advice on that end sadly, most of my expertise comes naturally. It's hard to teach when your brain is an empty space to use for this sort of thing.
Suddenly, her back thrummed loudly, and you could feel some kind of signal emanating from it.<Sir, the dormant drones outside have all activated, and have started doing a strange dance.> Talos informs you."Okay, now I just need to keep that going while we talk." Lucca said, wiping her brow. Apparently, it was taking up a lot of her focus.
>>19213292Take her over to the piano room. Play it while having a conversation. The active effort of listening, talking, and controlling the drones will be good exercise. Because in actual combat; things are going to be a lot more stressful.
>>19213292<Thank you, Talos. The drones are friendly.>"Alright, what do you want to talk about?"Start playing the flight of the bumblebee on the piano while talking

>>19213339Eh, I like this version better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvsdjJHUZysThe other one is just forced to go as fast as possible; whereas this one has more control and better tempo

>>19213375Yeah, that one is better
"Come on." You say, and she follows you to the room with the piano. You start playing flight of the bumblebee. <The drones are friendly,> You tell Talos."So, what should we talk about?" You ask."Uh, well, I don't know." She says, screwing her eyes closed.Your fingers fumble a bit, and then she cusses. "Damnit."
>>19213399We can abuse bullet time to keep perfect tempo."Alright.... lets see. What are your hobbies?"
>>19213399"What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" You ask."Got distracted when you fumbled.""Alright, let's see." You say, keeping perfect tempo. "What are your hobbies?""Uh. . I paint, sometimes. And knit. I do things with my hands. Lucas used to make me ice skate years ago, so does that count?""I suppose. What else?""I play video games. The realtime strategy ones, like Futurecraft or Command and Futureconquer." She said. "When I come to think about it, it's a lot like the drones. It's just that the interface for this thing is horrible."
>>19213509Do you have a hud or something. If you did I'd group drones up by squads and task them that way
>>19213509"Oh, videogames? Can you believe they just announced Half-life 3 coming out next year? I mean, I'm sure it will be delayed to no end, but still. Finally some closure."
"Do you have a hud or something?""Yeah, I do, but I have to order the drones around individually. I can't group them by squads. It's horrible. The scientists designed it, not someone who does this stuff as a hobby. I wish I could fix it."
>>19213584"Well... I might be able to magic-hack it or something."
>>19213584Slow down our tempo a bit; hack into her systems and get our AI's to redesign it to her specifications.

"Perhaps I could help?" You ask."Sure." She said, and the strange thrumming noise stopped. She reached up to her back. . and tore out a strange machine, seven long needles sticking out of it. "Here. I'm not stupid enough to try it when it's on and plugged in." She said.. . You were just about to try it while it was on and plugged in. Good thing you didn't. There was a loud buzz, and the device thrummed loudly, small sparks coming off of the needles, as you did what you could. Finally, you pulled away."Okay, now I'll try it." Lucca said, and plugged it into the sockets in her back."Hey, this is a lot easier." She said. "I can make my own interface, now."
>>19213699"I'm glad that it worked. Was worried I'd mess it up instead.""So... how was your life before you started this agent thing?"Start playing piano again

"I'm glad that it worked." You said. "Was worried I'd mess it up instead."You turn to the piano, and start playing."Wait, you mean that you let me put it on without knowing exactly what you did?" She asked. "But. . Feedback! I could have died!"You shrug."So how was your life before you started this agent thing?""It was boring." She said. "Good boring, though. Raised in a foster family, left to live with my brother, got a job washing dishes, lost my job washing dishes, then Lucas came by and said that his corp was looking for people related to him because he had a genetic disorder. That was only. . three months or so ago, come to think of it."
>>19213749"I once tried to use my ability, failed horribly and got knocked out for 5 minutes""Foster family?"
>>19213749We use Gen 3 implants, we're the cutting edge, I usually have no clue what is going to happen. I once passed out trying to have an elevator, and when they tried to make me able to connect with things through my fingertips and emp as well I could shoot lightning. Just roll with it.
"Once, I tried to use my ability, failed horribly, and got knocked out for five minutes. When they gave me an EMP implant, I ended up being able to throw lightning. I just kind of roll with it." You say. "Also, foster family?""Me and Lucas were orphans." She says. "Lightning?"You blast some sith lightning into the wall."I see." She said. "Now, what was all that about the underwater research facility?"
>>19213879Yeah, Project Atlantis. I have a few back doors in it, but haven't had the time to really hack into it. I figured that if we want to find a giant underwater gunship we might as well go to something which pays attention to underwater sonar and the like.
>>19213879"There is this research facility called Project Atlantis on the ocean floor. I'm trying to get access to it and see if they picked up 12's giant gunship. It is so deep that it is hard to get the signal to there."
"Project Atlantis." You say. "I figured that if we want to find a giant underwater gunship, we might as well go to something which pays attention to giant underwater things.""Makes sense." She says. "But how are you going to get down there? As far as I know, it takes all sorts of heavy duty submarines and such."
>>19213962Why bother actually going down there? I can just use my fancy new relay drone, get access to it and hack it from there. If necessary I'll find one of the submarines that goes down there and ask nicely.
"Why bother?" You ask. "I can just use my fancy new relay drone, get access to it, and hack it from there. If necessary, I'll find one of the submarines that goes down there and ask nicely." You say. "So you'll just . . borrow their gear remotely from the surface.""Technically, I'll be borrowing their gear remotely from . . well, here.""You can *do* that? And I thought you pointing your gun at me was scary."
>>19214048Maaaagic Spine. I think I can, worst happens I have the AI I installed on the satellite network give me some help. His name's Daedalus, you'd like him.
>>19214048"Actually, I'm already doing that. I took control of few things in their base already and have access to them. To do more I need better signal."
"Actually, I already did it once without the relay drone. I took control of a few things in their base already and have access to them. To do more, I need better signal." You say.Five minutes later, you're panting, hand on the uplink. You can't get the connection much better, even with the relay drone. <Cyan, give me a hand here.> You say. . But nothing. There's no AI with you. Come to think of it. . every time you enter a satellite and try using it as a relay, there's never been any AI alongside your mind. Not when you hacked and tracked down Twelve, not when you tried hacking anything else. It seems that. . only your own consciousness comes with you when you mentally leave the bullfrog.<Password required.> The equipment says again.Goddamnit, you could just. . talk one of the researchers into it, couldn't you? Giving you the password?Check the personnel files and find researchers who should have password, look at their names and remember them. Use the security cameras to look at their personal computers, sometimes people just stick the password on a sticky note on the monitor, maybe we'll find it that way. If not, then use the cameras to locate the researchers who we are going to call and who we are going to impersonate (just in case so that they are not in the same room when we call). Call up one researcher, have the connection be deliberately bad so that they can't recognize your voice, but let their cell-phone see the incoming call as if the real researcher is calling them. Then ask for the pass
You try your own password, Ishelda, but the equipment beeps an error. You go into the personnel files, and, suprisingly, there are only three researchers on the entire base. It's a small base, complete with only a standard building-sized power core, and a hydroponics bay for oxygen and food. In truth, it was eerily similar to Valhalla, what with the isolation. You check all of the computers with the cameras, but the passwords are gone.So you call one of the smartphones, setting your own ID as Alfred Santini."Uh. . Horne here. May I. . ask who's calling? And how exactly you can call me when I'm on the bottom of the ocean?" The woman asked."My password for the calibration equipment stopped working. Any way you could give me yours, Linda?" You say, distorting your voice with static.". . You aren't Santini." She responds. "How did you call me?"

We can go visit in person, can't we, if that would ease their mind?Although... not sure if the sight of us in our full glory would actually put anyone at ease, per se.
>>19214615I'm not, it's pretty obvious that I'm calling from outside, not inside. If I wanted to doom the world I'd go for satellites not underwater research stations. >>19214615"Huh... perhaps I do.But I'm really not. Come on, I've been subverting your systems for 2 days now and have almost entire thing under my control, I just need access to your logs."
>>19214658>>19214644The whole idea was to not go there in person and hack it remotely.
"Huh. . perhaps I do." You say. "But I'm not. Plus, if I wanted to doom the world, I'd go for satellites, not underwater research stations. I've been subverting your systems for two days now and have almost the entire thing under my control. I just need access to your logs."There was a moment of silence. "I'll do it." She said, and you see her get up on the camera. She walks over to the computer, and types a few keys. "A large unknown object several days ago came down near the Marina trench, and since then it's been just sitting there. We were going to file it as a sunken boat and shrug it off, but there was something odd about it." She tells you the coordinates of its location. You have it. You have him.

It's even been space capable since I first designed it.""So, that was a success?" Lucca asked.

"Each of the cables in project immortal are pretty much miniature mechandrites made out of synthetic muscle, but get this- they contain atomic goop, and synthesize everything they need. Of course, you need to restock it eventually. And the really hard part is restoring brain activity. But, if the body's been properly prepared, it can last months before it can't be done any more."

Amy responded."Oh.""Not to mention, Jun's a qualified neuroscientist. Lucca asked. "I heard that you were a real nasty fighter.""I got injured." Amy said. "So I'm waiting until I heal up.""I see.""Plus, I don't like power suits, so I don't think I could deal with the water pressure if something goes wrong."". . I don't have a power suit." "Power suits are pretty cool." You say. "We'll have to mod it a bit so it doesn't interfere with your implant.""You, however, will stay here." Amy said. "I have to fit it to her and her implant, so I can't do it when she's wearing clothes. Lucca, we'll also have to talk about your combat style, and exactly how you'll have to do things. . "Amy dragged Lucca's sleeve, and the two of them went off to the workshop, which in truth was less of a workshop, more of a massive underground container Amy had set up the drones to dig so they had space to store the vehicles while they were being constructed. You sat down, shrugged, and played on the piano a bit.A half later, Lucca had returned, wearing a strange, very thin set of armor that looked like it was much more armored on the wrists, feet, and back, compared with everything else."Good news." Amy said. "With her implant, she can activate functions of the suit without having to hit anything. A lot like you. . but the bullfrog is way better than her prototype."
>>19216565"YAH! SUCK IT! STILL SUPERIOOOOOOR!" Proceed to manly flex.
>>19216565The Bullfrog is pretty awesome, though it has the major flaws of not working for anyone else. Next. . are we going after Twelve, or are you going to work on the Disintegration Cannon first?" You ask."I think we should go after Twelve." Lucca said."But what if we need Jormungandr's main weapon first?" Amy asked. "I think it might be better to be prepared for every eventuality."Lucca sighed, and looked to you. "Dave, your vote is probably the tie breaker."Huh. It was almost as if you were the protagonist of a loosely guided roleplaying game, wherein both choices would be left to the protagonist, and thus, the player.

She said."But-""If we wait for the cannon, then we can kill him from a distance." Amy says. "And omega. And anything that looks at us funny. We're talking a *disintigration* *cannon*, Lucca. >>19216842The girl has had a hard day. Go easy on her.
>>19216858BEST ANSWER. And deadpan it.
"Sorry." You say, and shrug. "I'm far too busy to contemplate polyamory. After all this, though, bring it up with Amy.""Hey wait-""Let's get you used to your new power armor." You say, and she nods. She blasts back, propelled by power cores in her boots, skidding away from you. You squint through her improper cloaking, trying to see where her arms and legs were, but it was easier said than done. she dives forward again, punching you, but your heavy 'drites catch her hand in midair, flinging her at the wall. She twisted her torso, feet landing on the wall, and boosted once more. Then she turned off her power shielding so that her cloaking could be perfect. You promptly took a punch to the visor, and your head twisted back. A second punch went to your torso, and you started to step back- but before you could, there was a power armored foot behind your ankle. You fall to your back, suspending yourself up with your 'drites.Lucca reappeared, and she took off her helmet. "Looks like I win." she said.
>>19216930"That's good. As long as your enemy doesn't have bullshit hacking you shouldn't have any problems."Do we have any generic power armor around?if so then"Let's see how you do against multiple enemies."Then use bullfrog to animate them and fight.
>>19216930Nicely done. The cloaking was a nice touch. I'll note that I didn't actually hit the ground and it would have taken a lot more to hurt me much. Also this is really not my specialty, I'm not supposed to go smashy artillery man in our base, Amy'd make me sleep on the couch for a week.Once more. When she goes invisible use our smaller drites to constantly probe the area around us and find her if she gets close.
"That's good." You say. "As long as your enemy doesn't have bullshit hacking, you shouldn't have any problems. Note that CQC isn't my specialty, though.""It isn't?""My specialty is to be smashy artillery man." You say. "Although I end up doing a lot more CQC than I should. Once more."You push yourself up, and then Lucca dives away, activating perfect invisibility once again. . And your smallest, extra-long 'drites uncoiled from your arms."What-" A disembodied voice says. "What the fuck are those. You were supposed to only have four! That's cheating."You whip the drites around yourself, watching them whistle through the air. One collided against something invisible. You wrapped it around the invisible object."Cheating!" Lucca cried again as you whipped her away.
>>19217002No cheating would be hacking you, I'm not cheating right now. Use our bigger drites to throw ourself forward towards where we threw her, corner her and grapple her. Once we get her location with a little one it'll slow her down enough for a medium and or big one to grip her and hang her upside down with a bit of shaking to prove our point.
>>19217002You're lucky I don't use my cannons at you. The enemy won't care about fairness, all they care about is target elimination. Keep that in mind.Again.
"Cheating would be hacking." you say. "I'm not cheating right now."The wall sparks red, and you recognize the power core repulsion in action, no doubt she's boosting off of the wall at you. You catch her with a medium drite, and then you shake her around a little, holding her upside down. She reappeared and crossed her arms."I win." You say."Daaaave." Amy said, rolling into the room. "Ooh, Lucca, you got trounced soundly, I'm guessing?""I've only been at this for a few months, you know." Lucca said. "And he cheated!"How did he cheat?""He as six mechandrites! Not four like I thought.""That's not cheating. Hacking you would be cheating.""You two are similar in all of the worst ways." Lucca said."I know!" Amy responded, brightly. "So, turns out that the disintegration cannon is hilariously impractical when it comes to power requirements. Good thing you grabbed the enormous, mindlessly over-sized one instead of a standard building-sized one." She said.
>>19217213Well I just thought, would my adorable technicolor death machine want a normal sized power core or a super big one? I knew deep in my heart that you would want the absurdly over-engineered power core. Keep Lucca upside down and give Amy a quick hug and kiss. So, what is it going to take to make a destruction cannon?
rolled 5 = 5>>19217213Uh, will shooting it kill the hilariously oversized version? If so, then we'd waste the entire vehicle with one shot. Also, I'm assuming she looked at those two files; could we get her to look at that TK before we go?
>>19217213"I've been at this less than you, you know.""What kind of energy requirements we talking about here? Any concerns?"
"So, what is it going to take to make one?" You ask, pulling her close and embracing her."I'm still up heree." Lucca said, but both you and Amy ignored her."Atomic goop! As in, stuff we already have~" She said in a sing-song voice. "Mostly power cores- Well, power shields, technically, but those are one and the same for the most part- inside a revolving barrel, with tons of computing power for the AI. A few heat concerns, but I'm loading so many heat sinks into the thing already it won't be an issue. The only real issue is that it'll take time for the barrel to start revolving, which could take. . half a minute, maybe?""What kind of energy requirements are we talking about here?""The kind of energy requirement that means that it can't keep up power shielding or cloaking while it's firing. But while it's winding up, the shield and the cloak both work fine."
>>19217321So the shield is down for maybe five seconds while it's firing?
>>19217321We'll have to be careful, and not be under direct bombardment when we fire, but if it's half as destructive as it sounds whatever we fire at becomes a pile of dust. How well is it going to work underwater?
>>19217372Water ceases to exist, drain all oceans, everywhere, ever.
"So the shield is down for maybe five seconds while it's firing?""It's down as long as- and *only* as long as it's firing." She said. "And as long as the heat doesn't have issues, it can fire constantly as long as the barrel is revolving. That's why I'm giving it a ton of extra plating.""How well is it going to work underwater?""I know we'll end up with a lot of unbonded oxygen and hydrogen. . But in truth, I have no clue." Amy said with a grin. "We get to find out! Although if worst comes to worst, we could just press the barrel of the thing like. . against his gunship or something."
>>19217420Broadside an underwater fortress?Fuck yeah; let's become DEEP SEA PIRATES!>Display a smiley face with an eye patch
>>19217431
>>19217420That sounds absolutely lovely, we should probably test it out before we try it on him. Need any help putting it together honey?
"You mean, we can broadside an underwater fortress?!" You ask. "Let's become *deep sea pirates!*""No, we can't." Amy said. ". . The gun's on the front. It's not technically broadsiding."You pout at her.". . But we can still be deep sea pirates if you want." She added."Do you need any help putting it together?" You ask."Nope! Those repair drones are seriously awesome. You just have to show Talos the design, and then Talos explains it to the drones, and they build it! I think it's a bit too late to go do the mission today, though. Unless you two don't need to sleep, that is.""Well, I do require sleep." Lucca says. "I'm not sure about Dave, though.""I'm not sure either." You say.Amy looks at you. "Hey, you sleep all the time."
>>19217539We should get some sleep. We've been exhausting ourselves mentally for a whileAsk Amy, if she has some time, to look at TK. If there's any immediate thing we can learn by at least tomorrow morning, all the better for the mission.
>>19217539I nap, for the pure joy of it. Given that my brain is in the bullfrog I could probably stay up indefinitely, but I enjoy sleep. Shall we make some dinner?
rolled 96 = 96>>19217539nope, it's all an act to put you at your ease.bullfrog hack magic says I don't
"I nap for the pure joy of it." You say. "Sleep is mostly for the brain, you know. And since my brain. . you know, sleeps constantly unless I'm hacking. . ""Oh." Amy said. She sounded somewhat disenheartened."What, you're braindead?" Lucca asked, still dangling from your 'drite."It's bullfrog hacking magic. My brain blew out a week ago, and since then my consciousness has been residing inside the bullfrog.""Then how do you know you're really-""Uh, Lucca?" Amy asked. "Please don't give him doubts.""Right."

You say to Amy."Or. . we could go over there, and make mom act the perfect host." Amy said."What, we just show up and impose? That's not polite." Lucca responded."Oh, no, my mom would be happy to." Amy says, smiling. "You'll see."
rolled 39 = 39"talos get some drones down here to polish our armor, we need to look nice"

"Talos, come take your drones down here to polish our armor." You say. "We need to look nice."Fifteen minutes later, Victoria Tolstoy was looking at two people she knew, and one she didn't. So she had to be polite.Victoria Tolstoy gave a bright smile to the three of you. "Oh, you showed up at the right time for dinner. Come in, have a seat. So, uh. This device of ours. This... 'Disintegration cannon.' Is this basically like a War of the Worlds or Mars Attacks death ray? Heating and vibrating people apart into dust? Will this thing be able to slag that bitchass gunship of Twelve's? And can we get it in a ball mount at the front, or is it fixed in a more limited forward sponson?
>>19217995>It's fixed, because it's so long that Amy decided it would be easier and less vulnerable to build the rest of the ship around it. It's essentially a death ray, but if it's not working at full capacity, due to damaged or inoperable heat sinks, it just rends and sunders instead of reducing objects to dust. The secondary weapons are turrets that stick out of the sides of Jormungandr, so that it can still attack things that it's not pointing at.
