"Hello, Azariel." You say pleasantly. "Quite an impressive spell; I am Ishelda, and I may need your help. What do you know about demons?"

"So." Azariel said, rubbing his- well, Ezekiel's- hands together. "You've learned the truth. When you came to this world, I felt the shards of broken reality follow you. I felt when you had arrived. I was wondering. . ." He shook his head. "No matter. You came here retreating from those fiends, just as I and my sons came. And now you find out about that portal. . . That portal has been open for ... longer than you can imagine. It was open from before I arrived. Now, I know quite a bit about demons, but not as much as I'd like. I may not be able to answer your questions, but ask what you can."
His eyes gleamed an unnatural, arcane orange; it made his orcish body look. . animalistic, as if he were a hungry, hunting beast.
>>
>>19397410
"Am I right in presuming you are against them?"
"Why have you not sought co-operation and help from others?"
And very last question "Would you care for some tea?"
>>
OP, you said the we are not the "Chosen One"
You said that we wont have to save the world.
You said this is a sandbox with adventures
You said there wont be repercussions for just fucking around.

I feel roaded, cheated and disappointed.
>>
>>19397410
Why are they here?
Why is there only one portal?
Why are the hobgoblins protecting the wall?
If the wall have been up for such a long time, why does nobody know of it?
How long have you been here?
Would you care for some tea?
>>
>>19397464
>And very last question "Would you care for some tea?"
no

>>19397410
Ask him what are they doing and what their plans are.
>>
>>19397471
That's true. But we chose.
We can still choose to back from this.
>>
>>19397464
>"Would you care for some tea?"
This is probably the first thing we should ask. Sitting in the middle of the street is not the best place to discuss shit like this.
>>
>>19397471
We are not the chosen one. The wall seems to stand just fine without our help.

Although the quests we go on seems to be a bit to epic and i would also like to just fuck around, we are definitively not the chosen one.
>>
>>19397471
Azariel just said the demon portal's been there for ages. It'll probably be fine for a while longer if we just ignore it.
>>
All we really need to do is what we've been doing and get the people's of this world working together against them, then we can just go back to doing what we want.
>>
>>19397471
>The wall's standing perfectly without your help. Of course, the hobgoblins would reaaally prefer to have some help, but you're not obliged to do anything.

"Am I right in presuming you are against them?" You ask.
"Oh, I've been against them from the very start. But the hobgoblins are doing their job properly, just as they've done for their entire history. There's no need to waste my strength."
"Why have you not sought co-operation and help from others?"
"Because they'll skip out when things get. . difficult. It's much easier to secure my own position."
"Why are they here?"
He shrugged. "I don't know."
"Why are the hobgoblins protecting the wall?"
"Because the ogres bid them to do it."
"And why is there only one portal?"
"Same answer as last time." He said, grinning. "It's all due to the ogres."
"How long have you been here?"
"Several hundred years." He responded. "But only recently have things started. . getting active, as my sons rise to adulthood."
>>
>>19397596
Alright, ask if he'd be open to working together to create a more permanent solution than the hobgoblins wall or adding stuff to it to make it more effective while we search for a way to close the portal or something.
>>
>>19397596
"Might we continue this with a cup of tea?"
>>
>>19397596
"What did the ogres do?"
>>
>>19397596
This >>19397626 first.

Then: What are your future plans? Why do you do things the sneaky and not particularly nice way?
>>
>>19397490
>>19397495
>>19397512
>>19397596
That's not the point.
The thing is, it is INCREDIBLY easy to manipulate with /tg/ quest crowd. Sorry guys, but you are very easy to predict.

Saying that we "chose" and that "it wont go anywhere" is out of the question. It is the same as giving a scenario where we are a young, fit soldier walking in the evening in a town and seeing a young maiden being mugged/raped. SURE, you can say that we COULD chose to ignore it and be on our way but you know that no one is going to do that. We ARE going to save that girl and if DM is a devious fuck, he will make it a horrible trap.

Just the sheer fact that you put the demons into this world and had us learn about them is already railroading to an extent. No one is going to ignore it. We are already making grad, ridiculous plans to unite the whole world against them.
IMO, you should have never put them here. The demons were supposed to be something from our own world which gave a convenient background and the excuse for the state that MC finds herself in.

Forget the demons, it was hard enough to convince the rest not to go against the Coven, forget them and just do our won thing.
The rest of the quest from no own will boggled down with this retarded Demon invasion shit.
>>
"Might we continue this with a cup of tea?"
"No thank you." He said. "I cannot taste while doing this, and the sensations might bring Ezekiel back to his senses. It would be easier if we did not."
"So. . What did the ogres do?"
"What didn't they do?" He retorted. "They sealed their world from further demonic incursions, gave all sentient races the Gift of Tongues, and then had the hobgoblins build the wall. Then the lizardmen blew then all to hell."
"What are your future plans? Why do you do things the sneaky and. . not particularly nice way?"
"There is a certain. . scope of my plans. If I tried things the nice way, it would work. . for a generation or two, before the high lords and council members die and their successors take over. Then I would have to start all over again. As to my future plans. . If I told you, you could throw a wrench into things. So no offense, Lady, but I will not."
>>
>>19397596
It takes that long to mature?

Are Ogres so powerful that they can resist again the invasion? Your and my world were unable to defend themselves, what makes you think this one wont fall?
>>
>>19397722
Are you trying to rule the world? Why?
>>
"Do you know if there are others like us here?"
>>
>>19397722
So your plan is to replace all the world leaders with your sons then?
Sounds something a race of amazing shapeshifters would do
>>
"Are Ogres so powerful that they could resist against the invasion?"
"They were. . to a certain point." He said. "Sacrifice, as you may know, is very powerful, speaking magically. A sacrifice of life, or blood, or love, moreso. But the ogres. . the only reason they were able to seal the demons away was because they were. . heartless. They enslaved the dragons, and sacrificed each and every one to change the very nature of this realm. Why do you think yourself and I ended up here? Because of that changed nature. This has become the grease-trap of the planes. Anything that leaves their world ends up here."
"Do you know if there are others like us, here?"
"Oh, undoubtedly. Every race here, save the ogres, the dragons, and the trolls did not originate in this world. These fey, and orcs, and men, even the lizardmen and kobolds. . came from another realm. Perhaps dead realms, invaded by demons, or perhaps they simply fell through the cracks."
"Are you trying to rule the world? Why?"
"Oh, I may be." He said, and then shrugged. "But I have my own reasons for doing what I do."
"So, your plan is to replace all the world leaders with your sons, then? Sounds like something a race of shapeshifters would do."
"Oh, we're no shapeshifters." He said. "That's simply one of the spells I taught them- most of them are quite fond of it. We are the Kalak. Long lived, very powerful, magically, quite weak physically. We resemble birds, as much as your kind resembles apes."
"Hundreds of years? Does it take that long for your
people to mature?"
"Indeed. My species is long to mature, but even longer lived. My long life is. . natural, unlike that of the orcish royalty."
>>
>>19397851
You say you dont want to ally with the other races because they will not live long enough to maintain an alliance. But what about the orcs? The Venerable King and Queen have lived for ages, and will continue to live for a very long time. Can you not try to ally with them?
>>
>>19397887
Even if you have tried to start an alliance with a long time ago, you probably did it wrong. You should not try to start an alliance with lies.
>>
>>19397887
He did that, remember? But the Queen detected he was lying about something and now she hates the coven. She definitely wouldn't agree to an alliance with her current attitude.
>>
"You say you don't want to ally with the other races because they will not live long enough to maintain an alliance. But what about the orcs? The Venerable King and Queen have lived for ages, and will continue to live for a very long time. can you not try to ally with them?"
"I tried." He said.
"You should not try to start an alliance with lies."
"Bah; I could hardly tell her that I was the one who created the trolls."
>>
>>19397931
"Why not?"
>>
>>19397851
>>19397887

It shouldn't be hard to ally with other races either. Just write up a long-lasting agreement [just like in real life. Treaties and alliances do not expire just because the leadership changed. That was true even in monarchical times]

>>19397931
"Well, you didn't create them against the Orc, but against the demons, right? It is not your fault how other people have used them after they are created. I mean, a blacksmith is not responsible what other people do with his weapons, right?"
>>
>>19397931
"If you created them, could you not unmake them? And use that to build an alliance on?"
>>
>>19397931
"Why? As far as we have seen the troll actually serve a purpose at the demon wall. That would clearly mean they are not entirely evil."
>>
>>19398001
> That would clearly mean they are not entirely evil.

We already know they are not evil. They are animals, animals cannot be evil or good
>>
>>19397931
"Do you know why an Elf name [Kyara's father] would be inside the wall fighting the demons?"

rolled 15 = 15

We should probably have detect lies on during this conversation.
>>
"Why not?"
"Because they massacred her people. It would have been much more difficult to ally with the orcs after that. She was not very 'tame', as they say, and would not have listened to reason."
"You created them, could you not unmake them?"
"Of course not." He said. "They're not a spell I could deactivate- they're a species in their own right."
"Do you know why the elf named Kyvann would be inside the wall, fighting the demons?"
"Oh, yes, most certainly." He said. "He arrived at our tower several years ago in an airship, and we. . talked for some time. He felt he could close the demon portal and free the hobgoblins of their obligations, so he left."
>>
>>19398080
No. We just used a lot of magic.

>>19398088
What did you talk about if it is not a secret? And do you think it is possible he could succeeded?

>It shouldn't be hard to ally with other races either. Just write up a long-lasting agreement [just like in real life. Treaties and alliances do not expire just because the leadership changed. That was true even in monarchical times]
Why don't they simply make long-lasting treaties?
>>
>>19398117
>We just used a lot of magic
When? The last thing I remember doing was scrying which was like a day ago and the Queen gave us a boost to recover from that.

>>19398130
That's probably wise.
>>
>>19398154
>When? The last thing I remember doing was scrying which was like a day ago and the Queen gave us a boost to recover from that.
Was that a day ago? I thought it just happened.
Anyway, not a good idea to do magic around a member of a race that is magically strong.
>>
"What did you talk about, if it's not secret?"
"Me and Kyvann? We spoke about. . exactly what you and I are speaking about now. The demons."
"Do you think it's possible he could succeed?"
"Who knows?" He asked, shrugging. "I certainly don't. It would be possible to close the portal if we sacrificed another species, but. . he would shy away from that."
"What else can you tell me about the demons? Their origins, why they invade the worlds. . "
"I don't know." He said. "I've never had the chance to find out."
"Why didn't you simply make a long-lasting treaty?" You ask. "For the alliances."
"Hah. A treaty? Those aren't worth the paper they're written on." He said, snorting derisively.
>>
>>19398206
>"Hah. A treaty? Those aren't worth the paper they're written on." He said, snorting derisively.
"You say that out of experience?"
"Well.... I suppose even a hundred year alliance is just a season for a long-lived race like yours."
Also, before ending the conversation we should apologize for Uriel even if what happened was justified at a length
>>
>>19398206
"Mayhaps not for you, but there are some who respect them."
>>
>>19398175
Well we travelled from the fortress to the current city since then and that sort of distance was about 2-3 days sailing. I'm not sure how fast we fly but we weren't even tired after the scry so I'm sure we could manage a little spell like lie detection easily if the dice didn't suck so much.
>>
"But the very apocalypse is nigh if the hobgoblins should fail in their defense of the wall. Isn't that enough of a plight to keep such a treaty upheld?"
>>
>>19398250
I see. You're right.
Still, I don't want to risk it, this might be the only chance we get to speak to their leaders. Since our magic is on a bullshit-scale in terms of power, we could scan the information retroactively for lies. (Some kind of a divination spell. Or we could write the whole thing down on a paper and cast a spell that highlights any false data, etc)
>>
>>19398276
We aren't really talking about that. He doesn't seem to care about the demons. We're talking about all this sneaky stuff they are doing and why they wont try diplomatic approach for world domination (like establishing alliances)
>>
>>19398206
Are there any Orgres left?
>>
"You say that out of experience?"
"I was old even in my last world. I'd seen too many treaties and promises broken." He said.
"But the very apocalypse is nigh, if the hobgoblins should fail in their defense of the wall. Isn't that enough of a plight to keep such a treaty upheld?"
"Bah, the demons only have a single portal to use." He said. "That isn't on the scale of an apocalypse. I'm not very worried about them."
"Are there any ogres left?"
"There are. . a few." He said. "But they can't really. . speak, right now. They're mutants. Monsters." He shrugged. "Something about the warped lands. . when you heal yourself, it heals you . . wrong. Slowly, at first, but when you do it for hundreds of years. . ."
He shudders with revulsion.
>>
>>19398330
"But is the demonic portal a two-way gate?"
>>
>>19398330
[I wonder if we could revert their changes]
"Do they all reside in the wastelands?"
"Speaking of which, how do you even keep alive there? I heard something about a knife..."

>>19398330

>>
"I'm sorry about Uriel."
>>
Hey... this is a sandbox right?
I mean, the apocalypse is all well and good
yay unity and love and all that
Why aren't we raising an army of the undead to do our bidding and fight the hordes of demons?
Why do we have to go about this the nice foofy way?
>>
>>19398388
Because as much as we like to act all grimdark most of /tg/ are white knights.
>>
>>19398388
I dunno.
Undead is probably not our thing but we DEFINITELY could make an army of constructs and elementals or, heck, invent our own sentient race like Hobgoblins.
>>
>>19398412
We would just need a lot of time making them.
Time which we definitely have. It could also serve as a good training for our magical muscles.

Remember, our magic is pretty much just limited by our imagination.
>>
>>19398409
>>19398412
That's a shame
We could be the benevolent necromancer queen of the world
We raise the beloved dead to come back and fight for their living families
We don't do it out of disrespect, this is war, and in such times we use all we have.
We honour our brave dead warriors, and shall lay them to rest when the war is over
It seems like a decent idea really

"Do they all reside in the wastelands?"
"They view it as their natural home. . Of course, they're mad by this point. . "
"Speaking of which, how do you even keep alive there? I heard something about a knife. . ."
"Oh, yes." He said. "It's quite a long story, but. . the lizardmen used willing sacrifices to create the warped lands. The knife is the one that did the deed, and through a very advanced and ancient ritual, I can. . reverse it's effect. In a small area."
"Is the demonic portal a two-way gate?"
He froze.
Then blinked.
"I- I didn't even- Why would you even ask that? I'm not going to try to find out."
"I've been covering you with questions, but there must have been a reason for you to contact me, right?"
"Yes." He said. "But I've already accomplished my objective. You are not Uriel. You had his magic power, once upon a time, but no longer. That was what I had to check."
"I'm sorry about Uriel." You say.
"He made his own choices." He responds. "He spoke secrets he shouldn't have, and he knew it would kill him."
>>

Ishelda is the type of person who finds social solutions (Like talking it out or getting allies to help) rather than brute force. Necromancy is taboo, so doing it will make her much less effective at that kind of thing.

These are flimsy reasons to the contrary
You're just saying Necromancy is evil because its "Ew yucky"
Think pragmatically or die horribly
You won't be able to charm these demons to death when they show up.
>>
>>19398433
Why necromancy? It is boring.
And no, there is no "benevolent" necromancy. No one wants to see their family being raised from dead and used like tools. No matter how logical you think it is to use labor that is just lying around.

We could do ANYTHING and you settle for boring raise zombies/skeletons? Come on man, have some imagination!
>>
"His mind might not have been right at the time. . " You say.
He raised an eyebrow. "Then he was not strong enough to keep his mind from being distorted. He asked me for a mission, and so I gave him one. That was the choice he should not have made."
>>
>>19398470
That might be the case, but we didn't know that, seeing as we are so young. Think about it, it actually might have been allured to by her father that it was not all roses and cakes by his last speech. I think as a character Ishelda can either grow and learn that everything REALLY isn't roses and cakes, or she can keep going, with that naive outlook, a naive, yet inherently good, that she can make friends, overcome problems, and conflicts through the power of magic, benevolence, and be regal as shit in the process.
>>
>>19398498
Hey, there's perfectly useful potential soldiers lying in graves the world over
It might not be imaginative, but you can't deny it would be easier than making golems from scratch
You'd need artisans to craft the bodies before we could enchant them
>>
>>19398489
Do you think Ishelda could do anything against on her own with Necromancy?
Do you think anyone would help her, knowing that she's a necromancer?

Again, it is logical but only very few people will agree with this. Besides, magical constructs (or any other alternatives) would be much more powerful than undead.

"There's not enough standing evidence that the demons can be struck against, easily or otherwise. And if so, then I must unite the realm, which you have ruled as impossible, which I disagree with, but moreover, the hobgoblins have the threat contained for now. The way is clear to me now; there is much work to do. Kobolds to uplift, economies to revive, diplomatic relations to cool and old grudges to settle for the grudgebearers. Always, such work. It seems doubtful the demons will be able to be crushed, but as I have already made it out to be a great threat, which it is, then there will be reason enough for the nations of this world to shorten the hobgoblin's front line and lessen their burden. But first, I have an elf to rescue, for I have made a promise. I thank you for this great deal of information, Azariel. But I must ask a further favor of you. I need your son Ezekiel."

This.
And >>19398620
>>
"Keep your friends close, keep your enemies for tea."
He raised an eyebrow, and then chuckled.
"You offered me tea, did you not? I will ask Ezekiel what he thinks, and he will make the decision."
"What do you know about the dragons?"
"Not much, I have to admit. They were long dead by the time I arrived here."
"Is it possible to summon new ones into this realm, or. . bring them back to life?"
"If you want to cause the apocalypse, certainly, bring them back to life." He said in a sarcastic tone. "Such a thing would weaken the sacrifice, and thus, weaken the spell protecting this world. Sacrifice has no power if it is not permanent."
>>
>>19398662
We only know of ONE other caster in our world that was allured to and he died and was at a venerable age. We don't actually know his power level compared to ours though that and when we first got here, we could tell that magic was that much more abundant or easier to manipulate compared to our world.
>>
rolled 89 = 89

>>19398715
So its set we gonna summon dragons but this will weaken sacrife so we need shitloads of dragons
>>
So basically, what you guys are saying, is that we aren't needed to protect the world from the demons
Why not just take over?
You're all telling me you don't fancy a spot of world domination followed by benevolent dictatorship Havelock Vetinari style?
>>
>>19398645

The closest we had was Evil Quest but even then there were a lot of moralfaggotory present, especially about the main waifu interest (forgot her name). One could say we did it out of nefarious interests but I know that /tg/ enticed her just to save her from her father and brother who wanted to marry her off to someone.

Yes, I am saying that we have hard time not playing idealized character. For example, I do not think Ishelda is being roleplayed properly. She has seen her entire world burn, her family being ripped into pieces and can never ever come back and is lost in an alien world. What is the first thing she does when she comes here? Befriend a fucking bear and go on adventures! Fret about noble dresses and other noble/childish things like that.
It would be more believable if she had a massive PTSD from which she would need months to recover and perhaps would never entirely heal from. You could argue that she acts this way because of UPBRINGING but believe me, no amount of upbringing and lessons could help her deal so easily like we did.

>>19398747
Nah, Ishelda wouldn't be into world domination, she would however, be into a new nation where all the races and her friends could live and have tea. ala. Avatar's Republic City style

"What do you know about other continents in this world?"
>>
Is it bad that I can already envision this world to be a hub of sorts by the near end of the quest, where one would have to travel to move on to other worlds?
>>
>>19398735
>>19398759
No. Fuck no. We are not stupid enough to loose demons onto the world because hurr dragunz xD

>>19398754
There was also Heresy Quest, which was hilarious and fun and had no shortage of bastardry (albeit of the comedic variety) but that fell apart early and quickly because of a silly waifu eldar ho we had in our harem of bitches while we were carving out a little extra-heretical empire with our Alpha level psyker powers (we rolled for it legitimately, it was nuts) and some lolsorandumb Khornefags going KILL HER KILL HER KILL HEERRRR and somehow that ignited a giant shitstorm which killed the quest.

In any case, I'm trying to get us after the demons because it seems like the only logical choice for Ishelda. She wants those fuckers dead. Dead. DEAD. We have other goals, and there is more to our character. But there must be a massive flaw to Ishelda's character from what she's gone through. And I'm fairly certain that flaws is an unending desire for childish revenge. Revenge that involves genocide upon demonkind.
>>
>>19398754
except you know, since she IS so young, the only ones she may have that kind of tie to would be her parents and maybe her childhood friends, but like it was said, we don't know much of her past

She could in fact be extremely sheltered due to her upbringing not having many friends or mentors, this leads to the fact that, when she should be torn up and PTSD about it, she is still young, fresh, and able to recover from something like that. Exabyte has stated that she is repressing, which she just might be doing exactly that by distracting herself, but now she has something to focus on at hand. I could see her becoming an emotional wreck at somepoint in the future because she really DOESN'T know what to do as a 10-14 year old girl with the possible fate of the world she now has friends and what not on in her small delicate hands.
>>
>>19398795
Out of all things you could suggest, you go for the certain apocalyptic scenario? It is just plain idiotic.

This is a sandbox game and I would like to keep it that way at least for now. I do not want some plotline that will go on for 30 threads
>>
>>19398795
Okay, let's summon that one-fucking-dragon that our powers wouldn't even be enough unless we burned enough to make us blind or summon a baby dragon.
What next fuckface?
After getting slain by the demons that is.
>>
>>19398833

". . That would be a stupid idea." You say, after a moment. You're tempted, but. . it's too much to risk.
"Indeed."
"What do you know about other continents in this world?"
"Not much, I admit." He says. "From my scrying, I can see that there is one other major continent, but it's too far to reach. I presume that there are other races there, caught in this grease trap of a realm. Or it's abandoned."
>>
>>19398833
I would argue the exact opposite. I would think someone who has gone through this, especially this young would do anything just not to be close to it again.
You don't see arachnophobes seeking our spiders to kill them. While she might not have a downright phobia, she could be close to it.

>>19398893
Why this hyperfocus on dragons? There's more to a fantasy world than dragons, you know. We can go about trying to revive the entire race AFTER all the demons are dead.
>>

>>19398917
I love dragons
So what about giant eagles?
>>
"You've been so long here... Why haven't you gone to learn more about them?"
"Perhaps, but my plans are more important than that."
"Even you can't scry if there is intelligent life there? It must be far indeed."
"Scrying is. . very difficult, even with my age." He says. "I'm quite surprised that you've been able to do it as young as you are. Divination is normally weaker the younger one is, but you must be the exception to the rule."
"Could I raise the long-dead spirits of the ogres in the wasteland as a spectral army?"
"Perhaps, but. . my daughter is already doing that. She may get upset at you encroaching her territory." He said, then grinned. "I'm proud of her."
>>
>>19398943
Giant eagles are cool.
We could practically make a new race if we wanted to, although I do not recommend that.

>>19398930
Doesn't sound like a good idea. I would summon a single ogre just for information first and then decide what to do after that.

This >>19398938 and because I have some sneaking suspicions... "What do you know of High Lord Venus?"
>>
Again,
we don't HAVE to deal with the demon problem. Not now, not ever.
We could fuck off and dick around for ten years and the situation would be largely the same.

Why the fuck are you people rushing in so hard?
>>
>>19398956
"It would really help me if you could at least give some hints to what this plan of yours is. And given the large scale it seems to be, if we do not find out from you we will probably bump into it on our travels. You don't want us disrupting your plans do you?"
>>
>>19399026
Because quests invariably get a bit shit and clogged up by around the 8th thread
>>
>>19398943
We can always shapeshift into a dragon. Or create a dragon-shaped golem. Or something that wouldn't end the world.
>>
"Of course someone would think of that first." You say, and throw up your hands. "Do the specters retain their memories? Are they intelligent, or just mindless creatures to command?"
"You'd have to ask her about that. But I believe. .the spirits keep their minds. The bones do not. I could be wrong, of course; I was never a necromancer." He said.
"Azariel, what would you advise as a next move in my plan of unification against the demonic invaders and possible later counter-invasion? Because with so much to do I'm a tad stumped. Save Kiyara's father, and then... Poof. So many wide-reaching goals that they all muddle."
"Counter-invasion. . . " He shrugged. "Your plans won't bother mine, so I'll tell you what I can. Treaties are worthless. They are simply words, and they can be easily broken alongside so many promises. When you have an advantage, take it, and keep it. Make being your ally much too profitable and beneficial to break the alliance. That is my advice."
"And. . what do you know of High Lord Venus?"
"The latest high lord Venus? He is. . a hard man. Hates hobgoblins beyond all reason. I know little else."

Assuming he isn't just an inhumanely stupid oaf. Did the hobgoblins ever bother with a diplomatic approach to acquiring workers for the wall before the thralltaking began?"

My suggestions for uniting the world. Using excessively a common threat to unite enemies, with us being a prominent figure.
1. We get the orcs to help the hobgoblins with the walls. Orc-Hobgoblin alliances assured
2. High lord Venus is angry at hobgoblins. We wage war with the Orc-Hobgoblin alliance and allied humans. The Coven don't like Venus and will join the alliance.
3. If ser Bubbles is right we can easily bind the lizardmen with just being a female.

hmmmm, i cant think of something effective for the elves though
>>
"I know. Good day to you, and thank you for your time." You say. "This was a truly insightful conversation."
"Indeed it was." He responded. "Now, please leave me and Ezekiel for now, so I may speak with him. Your friends should awaken soon."
You turn back, and look toward Grayson, Lewin, and Fellwind- they were asleep this entire time, and you must have not noticed the magic knocking them out.

Well, Venus is a ruler just of a small part of entire human lands. We might need to make an alliance with all of the human leaders.

In retrospect, i can see that i phrased that very wrong.
2. Since High Lord Venus seems to have a personal feud with hobgoblins we can wage war on him with the Orc-Hobgoblin alliance. We moght also be able to convince some human High Lords to join us and the Coven will likely help as well.

You shake Grayson, and he slowly comes awake. You bury your face in his fur, and think.
First things first- if he did something to you, you need to find out. You close your eyes, and with your magic, feel your own body, making sure nothing is out of place. You don't detect anything odd- not that you can sense, anyway.
Lewin says something, still dazed, but it comes out as mumbling. Fellwind, however, you hear him pull out his blade, and a pulse of magic warns you that his sword is 'active', and doing something.
"That bird is walking toward us." He says. "The one from before."
You pull your face out of Grayson's fur, and see Ezekiel approaching, his eyes no longer orange. Fellwind, still with unfocused eyes, pointed his sword forward. "Stop right there." Fellwind said.
Ezekiel raised his hands. "Lady." He said. "I spoke with Azariel, and. . I'm to come with you."

>>19399689
Is there enough room to take on another set of people, probably being humans? I have a plan, it takes from an unreasonable plan of the other guy about learning shapeshifting/wings. Perhaps, we could go to the human kingdom, ask High Lord Sirius to call a council meeting, do some politics, get another ship commissioned and Kiyara, and we get working on another set of crystals. THEN, we go resupply at the elven kingdom on MAGIC WEAVE STUFF, then go to lizardmen kingdom and pick up a cadre, with the offering to permanently change them into having wings. Yes I know, far reaching etc.... granted this is actually partially doable unlike some of the other plans.

"This airship is a lot like Kyvann's." Ezekiel says, after shooing away the elves and watching the ship. "I mean, it feels the same."

The three of you (And Grayson) ended up belowdeck, your voices muffled by the airship crystal's hum.
"Um, lady, what should I say?" Ezekiel asked.

"You could start with how the trolls is currently one of the few things keeping this world from getting overrun with demons. And from there work out the history of the ogres and what they did to secure this place from the demons. We will need the whole story."
>>
>>19399941
"Haven't you lived for hundreds of years? Should you not know how to handle a situation like this? Oh, dear. Just hold tight for now, then, Ezekiel. Aside from a number of facts- albeit ones I take with a hefty grain of salt- gleaned from Azariel, progenitor of these beings, I've little to say, Venerable King, save that whatever grudges, fears or doubts we have must be tempered by the situation at hand; saving Kyvann and making sure the Hobgoblin's wall does not falter. Which leaves me with questions, Venerable King... Why is it that the Venerable Queen has such contempt for the Kalak?"

And of course, fill him in on what we were told.

"Haven't you lived for hundreds of years? Should you not know how to handle a situation like this?"
"Well, Uriel could, or Raziel, even she could do this. But-"
"You could start with how the trolls are currently one of the few things keeping this world from getting overrun with demons. And from there, work out the history of the ogres and what they did to secure this place from the demons."
"Uh, right. Trolls are. . currently one of the few things keeping this world. . . What was the rest?"
"Oh dear. Just hold on tight for now, then, Ezekiel.
"She very much dislikes people lying to her." The king responded. "In fact, soon after Eidolon taught her to discern lies, she quickly had to re-tame herself, due to . .losing control every time someone said something that wasn't quite true."
>>

Is that just the way she is, or is that a side effect of the spell itself?
>>
"Is that just the way she is, or is that a side-effect of the spell itself?"
"After. . after an ogrish warlord gave her troll seeds and lied to her that they were crops, that became the way she is."
>>
Ezekiel took a deep breath.
"The trolls were made by Azariel, and he made them as a gift to the ogres in trade for land and magic, soon after a large portion of ogre slaves escaped." He said. "Then he gave some more to the hobgoblins, to help them hold back the demons. since then, that's what most of the oldest trolls have been doing."
The king raised an eyebrow.
"Holding back the demons, I mean. Without them. . who knows. . We could all have been slain. It's been a few hundred years."
Ezekiel sighed, and covered his face with his talons.
"What I'm trying to say is- I'm not very good at this- I'm trying to say that the demons are what we should focus on right now. And we should let. . let bygones be bygones?"

"I see. I wonder if Azariel's wide-reaching plans included seeding that hatred of lies. And some specific liars. What I do not understand is if Azariel had the ogres seed them in Orcish lands, and later came to harvest the wild fruit, or if perhaps Azariel was simply uncaring that the ogres would likely use the trolls as a terror weapon against the orcs as a side project to his orders, and did nothing to stop them from doing so. I suppose uncaring would make more sense. He is neither malicious nor particularly empathetic; apathy and neutrality appears to be his creed. I know that a great deal of her hatred of the Kalak lies within Azariel's admission of his hand in the making of the trolls, but is there any other reason?"

"In any case, I agree with Ezekiel. That is the most rational decision at the moment. But something will have to be done, Ezekiel, about Azariel's impromptu atrocities. A leader must keep control of his subjects. Allowing the ogres to trick the Orcs into planting trollseed has done no one any good. I suppose the next goal, after saving Kyvann, might be rallying the wild trolls to our cause and stopping their mindless marauding. The how of it is... Well, I'll need some cuttings from the ancient troll we killed, but we'll no doubt have to get those later, unless we can afford to stay a few hours longer to get them."

"Wait. . you could control the wild trolls?" The king asked, looking to you. "I and my sister have been working at it for many, many years, to no avail."

I won't know until I try. But I think I have a chance.
>>
"I won't know until I try. but I think I have a chance."
"It's possible. . in theory." Ezekiel said. "The trolls use smell to communicate, and the oldest ones can overpower the others. With cuttings from an ancient troll, it wouldn't be hard to emulate their smells. . Perhaps make an enchanted item to do it for you." He said.

"We're back on the Weave." Kiyara called out, sticking her head below deck. "Our speed should start picking up."
She vanished again, her message sent.
>>

"Theoretically. It's fairly simple. Give life and consciousness to a troll, teach it to be loyal and good-hearted, and the rest will fall into place as it grows and establishes dominion over smaller trolls, and spreads its ideals to them as it gives them minds. Haven't you ever tried that? And plus, with the magically rich cuttings of an ancient troll, it might not even be necessary to awaken it, merely pump it full of life magic so that it grows especially quickly. It is unlikely this new form of troll will be very big at first, but there is nowhere to go but up for a troll, and he'll likely be an excellent fighter, healer, woodsman and companion, since he will be born of my power and loyal to me. I suppose that the good-hearted simply have never bothered to put in the effort to raise such a magical problem child, unlike the various evil magi. So, Venerable King, can we acquire the cuttings before we go? Oh, and I'll need a nice planter for him."

Man, this airship either travels fast, or the continent is pretty small when you can fly. It took us three days on boat.
>>
>>19400518
>>19400525
Hey, with a troll at our side, won't we also be able to readily expand the ship with any number of rare, quality woods? Leading to us being able to make our ship even fancier, larger, faster and overall better? Oh, yes, indeed.
>>
"Well, I scried simply by wanting to scry, changed Lewins Sword by simply wanting it to be better, took Uriels magic simply by wanting him to stop. I might be able to do quite unexpected things if I just try them."
>>
>>19400525
>She didn't need to conserve energy on the way back, so she had the ship go all out, and so it traveled pretty quickly.

"Well, I scryed simply by wanting to scry, changed Fellwind's sword by simply wanting it to be better, stole Uriel's magic simply by wanting him to stop." You give him an enigmatic smile. "I might be able to do quite unexpected things if I just try them."

Really now, all this sticking to morality is horribly boring
It'd be nice to make a few enemies or something
>>
>>19400599
Ah well. We're still going to make that boisterous head-bashing nature-protecting trollfriend next thread, riiight?

>>19400624
Nonsense. We must befriend everything and everyone. With tea parties.
>>
>>19400640
You think it could be possible to invite the demons to tea parties?

Don't you dare even suggest the CONCEPT of such a blasphemy, you motherfucker.
>>
>>19400846
What if we completely mind-dominate a bunch of them to sit down and have tea with us unwillingly?
>>
>>19400918
This sounds like a good plan that achieves worthwhile goals at minimum expense of resources and almost no risk.
>>
>>19400968
Think of the intimidation factor it will have on the other demons!
>>
>>19400624
truthfully, i think we should be amoral, as in morals only apply when it suits us and our goals.

We should ask Grubwort if we can majik it to be bigger on the inside, or just ask Jormungard if she could do it herself.
