>>Previous threads can be found at: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Sorceress%20QuestThe Jormungandr sails into port at Carved Fortress, docking there. Kiyara still has her hand on the wheel- she seemed to be acclimating to her scars without any notable issue. For the most part, she seems simply glad her father is okay. The knights, you can tell, are relieved to be home."Lady Ishelda." The king said, bowing deeply. "I should like you to accompany me into the honored hall. Your friends may come as well. . But it is probably not a good idea to bring the Coven before the king.""I'll come anyway." Ezekiel said.Raziel looks like she wants to say something. . but she stays silent. Ezekiel doesn't seem to notice.
>"before the king">"before the queen">Yaay, i messed up
>>19446352"Well, it's your choice. Your help was invaluable during the retrieval so that should work in your favor. Raziel, you can come as well if you want."Are we going to bring Kiara's father too?
"Well, it's your choice." You say. "Your help was invaluble during the retrieval, so that should work in your favor. Raziel, you can come as well if you want."She nods her thanks. The entire group, including Grubwort and his crew, leave the jormungandr and make it up the large stairs into the Carved Fortress."Brother!" The queen calls, and stands suddenly. "You've returned!"You and the queen go through the standard pleasantries, curtsying and greeting one another, and she has some of the cooks bring out enough food for everyone. You notice that she pointedly *doesn't* say anything about the two kalak in the room, instead getting them the same food as everyone else."So, how was the mission?" She asks.
>>19446493Nobody died and we were able to retrieve Kiyara's father from the demons. So, it went probably a well as one can expect a mission into enemy territory to go.
I'm playing King's Bounty: Armored Princess right now and can't help notice the similarities between it and this quest:-Both have a princess as MC-Both are from another world-Both fled from onslaught of demons (although in this case, her world is not completely destroyed. The last castle of humanity still stands and the whole world has been suspended in time when the Princess fled to another world)-Depending what character you choose and how you specialize it, you can have a powerful mage who specializes in summoning-Both lead armies. The game itself is pretty damn awesome too. A mix of Might&Magic games and a RPG
>>19446530except we underestimated the enemy too much
"Nobody was killed, and we were able to accomplish our objective. Other than underestimating our enemy, it went as well as one can expect such a mission to go." You say, and smile brightly."I see." The queen said. "I am glad.""Venerable Queen." Kyvann said, with a chuckle to himself. "I'm way gladder than you are."
>>19446591"And it seem Kyvann lost his mind.... just a little bit""He could tell us more about the demons and perhaps how to permanently remove them from this world."
>>19446613 I wonder if we could heal him....
"And it would seem that Kyvann lost his mind. . just a little bit." You say demurely, having a sip of tea."Now, I'm completely unsuitable for my councillor work." He said, with a shrug. "But I don't really mind. That is, if this isn't all a delusion in my head. Because the nature of reality is so. . abnormal for me, it's hard for me to be serious about absolutely anything.""I see. That must be why it's impossible for me to tell if what you're saying is true or false. You don't know if anything is." The queen said, putting her fingers on her chin. "Lady Ishelda, if I may ask. .what and who are those two?" She asks, eying the kalak.
>>19446652Oh boy, she doesn't know already?I guess it's time to prove how good Ishelda is when it comes to diplomacy.Any suggestions?
>>19446652"They're two of the persons who helped us."
>>19446700Well, we start with their names how they are great mages and how their help was invaluable, that they are allies who helped us, etc, etc. And then we tell her who they are.
rolled 37 = 37>>19446652they are members of the coven. and they were essential in the mission. i gave them the option if they wanted to come in and they did.
>>19446729damn it why are my dice on
"Raziel and Ezekiel; brother and sister, two of the people who helped us." you say. "They are powerful mages, and their help was essential. Without them, I don't know if we would have returned intact. They're also members of the coven."". . I see." She said, and eyed them. She closed her eyes, and you see her form ogrish words on her lips, but then went back to eating.
---"All in all." Lewin was telling one of the orcish women, quite overtly bragging. "We sent them back to hell, with blade and bolt and spell.""Will you be writing a poem about it?" She asked, awed."Most certainly." He said, confidently.---"I still don't get why you kept one of the shieldbearer's arms." One of the knights ask the other."Well, it's simple- I want to make a shield for myself out of it." The other orc says. "The kite shields are good, but. .this is the first time I'd done something so influential. It's entirely possible that this kind of mission changed the entire face of the world. I want a keepsake."---You note that Ell is sitting alone, picking at his food.
>>19446828Seems like he could use a bit of company."Not to your linking?"
>>19446828go and talk to him. find out why he is off alone
"Not to your liking?" You ask."No, lady, I just. . feel out of place." He said, looking around. "I mean, everyone here accomplished something big- like slaying demons, protecting others. . even Kiyara made the airship, and she's not even a spellcaster. I am, but I'm just. . not as good. There's a reason I was just overseeing the warehouse."
>>19446864"Without your help, the demons would have surely destroyed the airship while it was moored to the tower. You kept the ship intact while we were fighting, if you had failed, none of us would have survived, no matter how many demons we had slain. You were an important part of crew, and I'd be very happy if you'd continue to be."
>>19446906Lets ask him if he wants to help us try to create elementals with orichilum(whatever the name of that metal was) and energy core.I am thinking we should approach the queen about the coven, although i am not completely sure it would be the best idea."Venerable Queen, we have discovered much about The Coven. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask."
rolled 43 = 43>>19446926i think those would be golems. elementals power down when out of energy, elementals vanish
>>19446934damn it golems power down, elementals vanish
>>19446934So air golems? Anyway, lets ask him to help us with some sort of project, i am sure he is skilled at something.
>>19446958i dont think it is possible to make a pure air golem, they need a structure. something to be there when they power down. though maybe a skeleton on some sort that surrounds itself with a vortex when active would be cool. and fast, but not as fast or as fluid as a pure air golem
>>19446972Mhm, with an orichrulum skeleton we could potentially create any sort of golems. Maybe a RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE golem?
rolled 82 = 82>>19446994powering it would be hard though, theoreticaly we could make the vortex golem (what i am calling the wind with sceleton) run of of the weave with a few crystals or maybe powered by ell, but im not sure anyone besides us can power things with rage
"Without your help, the demons would have surely destroyed the airship while it was moored to the tower." You say. "You kept the ship intact while we were fighting; if you had failed, none of us would have survived, no matter how many demons we had slain. You're an important part of the crew, and I'd be very happy if you'd continue to be. Plus. . I'd like your help with a few projects.""I'm not a very good crafter. . but I am an extraordinary assistant." He said. "Or so I choose to believe. I'll stay on board. Not to mention, I think Kiyara was talking about building her own airship so that her and her father can wander about the world- you might need someone who can pilot an airship.""Hey, Ell." Fellwind said, sitting down on the other side of him. "You think you're useless, right? Well. . look at Lewin.""What?""Just look at him. What do you see?""I see an adventurer. One who tore apart an ancient troll with a magic bow, and one who slayed a demon.""You know what I see?""What?""The son of a brewer." Fellwind said. "Because that's what he was when I met him. Lewin. . he's determined. More determined than anyone else I've ever met. What I'm getting at is this- he was useless. . .until he decided he wasn't. You can do the same."
>>19447019How is the weave powered? Is it like a tax collection from fey government, each year all the spellcasters submit a set amount of magic? Or is it something else?
>>19447019Hey, the world needs brewers too.
>>19447010What if we enchant the orchicalium with rage. Would that work you think?
"How is the weave powered?" You ask, suddenly."Well. .plants." He says. "Some of the villages, close to the spires, grow these large, beautiful flowers, called Galadriel's Light. They take sunlight, and convert it into magic energy. That gets routed to the spires, which charges the weave."
rolled 25 = 25>>19447086im pretty sure it would create a rage golem, but it might have to same problem that bubbles originaly had. no one could power it. and it will burn through what power it does have quickly. but that might be wrong, it is just a feeling i get
>>19447116>>19447117Well. Angry flower golem here we come.
>>19447116right now i am wondering if that is what the flowers on the trolls are. a modified version of these. and now i want to make our mini-troll into a solar to magic converter for us.
>>19447116where does bubbles get his power anyway?
"Then . . what about the flowers on the trolls?" You ask yourself, almost under your breath."Those look different." He says. "And they smell much stronger. If anything, I'd guess it's how ancient trolls control the smaller ones- with smell."You turn back, and ask bubbles to come closer, and he does."Where do you get your power from?""All of my power is carried within crystals in my torso. Last time I recharged, it was done using the crystals in your pouch."
rolled 13 = 13>>19447218wow, then he is very efficient. he has been going for quite a long time on one charge
>>19447218"So that's what happened to them. How often do you need to recharge, barring high drain scenarios, any way?"
>>19447218So that's what happened to all our crystals."It's rude to take things without asking."
"So that's what happened to them. . You're very efficient, then- you've been going for quite a long time on one charge." You say."Of course- I was built by Eidolon. Not to mention, I have not had to use any of my secondary abilities, which drain power quickly.""How often do you need to recharge, barring high drain scenarios, any way?""Once a week, during times of high physical activity. Four times a year, during times of low physical activity. While slumbering or dormant, I could last, theoretically, longer than the orichalum in my body could."
>>19447276(we need to look into this. i like the idea of a golem army)(we also need to look into how to make orchilum, it just seems so useful)
>>19447276how is the rest of the party doing? specifical the bird siblings. i would hate for something to happen to them
>>19447276"Well. I think we might need to find an alternative power source than my reserve crystals. Any ideas? Perhaps one of the sacred Fey flowers?"
"Well, I think we might need to find an alternative power source than my reserve crystals. Any ideas?""I'm. . not certain." Ell said. "But I do have. .a bit of an idea. But it would be. . well, very, very illegal. In some countries, at least.""Lady." Grubwort said, approaching you, after a talk with the venerable royalty. He looked. . unhappy.
>>19447349"What is it, Grubwort? Do they want to take away your ship?"
"What is it, Grubwort? Do they want to take away your ship?""In a way." He said. "Me and the crew are needed at Sirius City, but the Venerable King insists that you keep Jormungandr. We already have a new ship from Shipwright at Venerable Refuge, but. ."
>>19447349"Grubwort. You look serious, and not jovial. This of all times is not one where you should be being serious. If you are being serious, something is wrong, and if you are serious NOW, something is horribly wrong. What's wrong?"
>>19447409"Oh dear me, no. You cannot separate a captain from his ship! That's just not right. What are we to do?"
>>19447409If we need to part ways with Grubwort, we should at least create a parting present. I was thinking a hat that emits calm aura, like the one Grayson have. It will help other orcs stay calm and not fly into rage around him.
"Oh dear me, no. You cannot separate a captain from his ship! That's just not right. What are we to do?""Nothing to do. We orcs are different with our ships than you men. I'll miss her, but my new ship will serve me well- we'll spend most of our time in port, anyway." He said, and put hand on your head. "I guess you're the captain of the Jormungandr now."
>>19447506"I don't think I'll ever be quite as great a captain as you Grubwort, nor will I have as great a crew as yours. It was an honor and a privilege to know you. I hope that one day, we'll cross paths again. Good luck."
"I don't think I'll ever be quite as great a captain as you, Grubwort, nor will I have as great a crew as yours." You say."That's because you're just a little girl." He said, chuckling."It was an honor and a privilege to know you. I hope that one day, we'll cross paths again. Good luck." You say, curtsying to him."Grayskin told me something before we left- He said that you have something I don't. He couldn't quite put his finger on it... But good luck, Ishelda. Take care of Jormungandr for me, will you?"
rolled 5 = 5>>19447575what about this? >>19447494
rolled 30 = 30>>19447575what about this? >>19447494
rolled 36 = 36>>19447494throwing my support in as well, quite a good idea for a parting gift.
>>19447575Right. It's time to account for the fact that we hadn't informed the Venerable Queen of Ezekiel, as we promised we would, before we head off to gloat to the Council.
rolled 37 = 37>>19447529ehh why not
But it's his ship!!!!
rolled 63 = 63>>19447575don't worry, I will.do we have enough crew for the ship?
>>19447506"It won't be the same without you. Would you have any advice for a new captain, then?"
>>19447838Goddamnit, that is not the post I was trying to make.Exabyte's been unable to post, so he said on twitter he's calling it for today. This was said... a while ago. I haven't been able to post either, or this would have been here sooner.
