"Ishelda?" You hear Raziel knocking on your door, softly. You hear her shift her feet, and something feels. . wrong about it.Grayson seems to hear it too, and moves his head up quickly, mildly alarmed. . but then he sniffs twice, and lowers his head again. She knocks again, and you figure that if Grayson isn't worrying about it, you shouldn't either- So you open the door.In front of the doorway, you see a statuesque, human woman, with long black hair, a hawk-like nose, and dark blue eyes. She wrinkled her nose. "Yeah, I'm not used to this form. Too many fingers, and having lips are weird as hell. You okay?"

Raziel says."Velrid is doing it right, see? Do you really want to be upstaged by your brother? Tense up your. . heel things, and don't use them at all.""Yes, Raziel." You simply sit down on the deck and watch, as the group learns ballroom dancing- The lizardmen, surprisingly, are the best at it, despite their abnormal physiology. Raziel trades off with Velrid, and then she shifts the pairs around, as she starts to teach Ezekiel and Ell.
So Lewin did give the blade back but are we going to keep it or tell him to keep it? Should probably decide that soon.

Just something for later but we should see how Sacrifice affects our magic. Inb4 emo Ishy.
>>19505673Fellwind said, "I give it you." then went below. We picked it up and went below, heard the two talking and Fellwind call us a monster. We fled sobbing after dropping the sword. Presumably Lewin then asked Raziel to give it to us, being the decent guy he is.
Let's just give the sword back to him, he has more use to it than us, and knows how to use it.
>>19505673I'd like to give it back to him. Not because he deserves either it or forgiveness, but because when you give a gift in good faith, it isn't yours anymore regardless of the circumstances. He probably gave it back because he didn't want to feel like he owes us. We should show him we're a better person than he is, and remind him that it is his property to do with as he sees fit. What he does with it after that reminder is up to him.tl;dr: be the bigger man, even when you're the little girl.
Ezekiel, you can see, is somewhat wary about it, So you do what you can. You reach out with your magic, and darken the air outside of the airship, simulating night. Then you close your eyes. . and remember the last ball you'd been to. The music was soft, yet moving. . and so you bring it forth with your power.Everyone looks over to you, but you're simply sitting there, moving one of your hands as if you were holding a conductor's baton.

"Ogres.""What?!" Raziel asked, sitting up."Did you notice the elemental I summoned earlier? What was it made of?""I wasn't here, then." She said, then closed her eyes, and chanted a spell. "Serenity, or some weak. . joy or excitement." She said. "Some kind of positive emotion, but not very active.""How did you know about the world I was from?""When the golem woke me up, I was able to browse it's memory. You declared yourself the 'Crown Princess of Arcturus' when you knighted it." She said, and shrugged.
"How do you know so many things?""I'm tricksy.""What's your talent?""That's something I won't say." She said."Where are you from?""Something else I won't say.""What was your relationship with Eidolon?"She opened a single, glimmering red eye. "That's *definitely* something I won't say, even if you'd given me Rikar.""What do you know about sorcery?""Very little." She said. "Just that certain mindless beasts can use magic via emotion. . so it stands to reason that there would be a Talent that lets a person with a mind use magic the same way.""Where can I find the best tea in this world?""Well. . I'm somewhat partial to swamp brew, and that's. . technically a tea. . " She says. "Speaking of which, I noticed you have some casks here. . ""No. It's mine." Raziel said, with a glare.

>>19507876Can we at least give her a rabbity nickname?"why do you want to go to the human provinces?"
"Would raising a dragon using necromancy break the sacrifice?""No." she said. "The nature of the ogre's sacrifice was that 'all dragonkind would die, and remain dead'. Undead doesn't really defy that. of course, if you raise them permenantly, and make them a body like you did for me, that would be 'true life' rather than the 'false life' of necromancy.""Do you know of any alchemized substances you'd be willing to share with me?"". . There is the material that Azariel's tower is made out of- I call it ebonstone. She said."Is there anyone in this world you'd recommend I meet with that I have not already?""Know this." She says, raising a hand. "This world. . has been slumbering for a long time. When you came here... You started to meddle. . waking things up. Azariel has taken to his throne again. The orcish king has entered battle. The archdemon was slain. I have returned to this world. the elven council is united because of Kyvann's return, and the high lords are no longer fighting one another, because you alerted them to Uriel's treachery. The lizardman empire is changing. My answer is this; it's in your nature to meet the important people in this world. That's the conclusion I've come to. Raziel said, but Impulse shushed her."Azariel's throne is an artifact made out of the stone of . . some kind of mountain from the kalak homeworld. Seer's Peak, It would be called in this language. What it does is gives. . distance to spells. As long as you sit within it, your magic can reach the entire continent. >>19509636Aawww sheet. And I was going to be nice and vote to give her the crystal back.
>>19509639Well that went well. She cheats us, we get even and try to get this situation back on the grounds we agreed to, she cheats us even more as a result. Can we get out of this without violence, Exabyte, or at least part with frayed relations and Bubbles intact and back on our side?Impulse is helpful. But she's too, not surprisingly, impulsive. This may be because we don't trust her, which may be why she doesn't trust us, but there's no telling if she'll actually be trustworthy if we trust her and give her magic and crystal back or that she'll give Mr. Bubbles back. The clearest solution, is to simply erase the unsealing magic she stole from the crystal- that's too dangerous to leave with her, because that can theoretically be used to 'unseal' any number of metaphysical locks, many of which would best go untampered- unseal her magic as we promised, and get Bubbles back (and with us recognized as 'Eidolon') in exchange. That's assuming she's amiable to leaving the most violent result of this situation as a mere Mexican standoff, which is being rather optimistic. Being more pessimistic she might not wait and just try and kill everyone immediately until we give it back and she won't plan on giving back anything she's taken. What's the chances of the optimistic result, Exabyte?
>>19510013We did erase the spell.>>19509636>You graze your hand over it, and feel the imprints of the unsealing spell you had put on it. You wipe it clean. . then you toy with the idea of keeping it.

>>19510112Exabyte! Stop being ominous, it's scary! Also:>"Take the crystal from the girl." She says."I'm not a girl, I'm a monster."
>>19510056Yes, yes, one step down, I'm aware.>>19510112She wants to understand magic as well as she can. Hence, one motivation for stealing the unsealing spell. One no doubt far more important than that mere "I want my magic back" thing. Though being magically impaired makes magical study harder.I think the 'toying with the idea of keeping it' thing was a bit out of left field, we were just taking the crystal from her, as she took our magic. But in any case, you don't steal the work of your colleagues. We've endeavored to understand magic plenty. And she just jipped our work, in addition to breaking her word! And now she's taken something of ours as a bargaining chip as we just did, that something being Ser Bubbles, a thinking (if overtly logical and law-riddled) and pseudoliving being. She's overstepped severely. So, negotiating and explaining these facts will no doubt see us giving her magic and crystal doodad of learning back, and her giving our golem back minus the sleeper code and agreeing not to take magic from us we aren't willing to share. And if she's some kind of devil in disguise, well, shit, we'll just have to leave a magical killswitch enchantment on her magic as we fiddle with and unseal it. Simple.
I think we should do what Mr 97 >>19509397 here suggested and seal the artifact. She can have it back when it's been rendered much more difficult to use and then get the hell off our ship
>>19510112We can diplomance anyone, once we make it clear to her that the spell is no longer on the heart she'll understand her best chances of getting her magic back and understanding the unsealing mechanism is to stand down and not try to cheat us.Also last thread Impulse said something about us all being from the noblest of Lineages, and she included Grayson in that.
