You know why she's crying. It's pretty obvious really. Here she is, stuck in a place that's much like her own, but really quite unknown to her.She lost all that she loves, she's lost the girls. She, in all intents and purposes, doesn't exist. It's actually quite reasonable to breakdown.Hell, if it was you [and it really is you by someway] you'd think your reaction would be worse. You reach out to her and wrap her in a wordless embrace. She continues to silently cry on your shoulder.-----------------------------------------------------------------Minutes pass, her tears soaks your shoulder, but thankfully she begins to calm down."You okay now?" you ask this other version of yourself."Y-yeah." she answers."Great. Now let's fix up that hand real quick." you pull out your flask and hand it to her.She downs a few gulps of Healing Blue and hands it back to you."I guess I need to build up my stuff again huh?" she says as she does this."Don't worry. We'll help.""Ayasaki Susan, you are now officially sanctioned Bureau Trainee. Handler will be Mike "The Director tells her this."Further required testing, overseen by me. Would Susan know about the house? I'm pretty sure the split happened before we got it and I don't recall any mention of her finding Gulliver's shop.
>>19656493fair point, but we don't want to give her the impression that isn't entitled to a place in our family and in our home. she can get breathing room at the resort easily, there's plenty of space.

I can't. I don't want to intrude.""Bullshit. I'm the closest thing to a relative you have here. We're practically twins. well... weird, timeywimey, domensionally twins, but still... Besides, the girls will flip thier shit when they see you."That pained expression again, it appeared when you said -girls-."Please, I insist. You don't have to be alone here. You mentillate as you walk down the hall.Hina and Perrine walk out of one of the empty bedrooms furthest from yours, The twins and surprisingly, Mio walks out of the master bedroom powertools in hand."You're early." Erica comments as she steals a glance at Susan. Mio holds her hand out and grins at this."Family meeting." >>19656731Some of you know that Hayate in his spare time has been fiddling with a gender-swap potion, entirely for academic purposes, and has an unsuccessful test run a while back. I'm Hayate, from a different timeline where the gender-swap potion worked and was permenant. Then shenanigans occurred, time and space got all twisted up and I ended up here, long story. Since having two Hayates around would make things confusing I'm going by Susan now. I think that pretty much covers it.

>>19656731This is a bit hard to explainI am Hayate from another dimension or reality or something, the director just said lots of letters and numbersI made a mistake when I tried to make a gender change potion and got stuck this way, when I tried to undo it the doctor ended up splitting me off from the male me and I ended up alone in this empty "storage" bureau of the directorsI ended up running around looking for anyone and after a while I found where Hayate was and I could see a shadow of him. Then the director appeared and said something about me being waste from the doctor fixing me in my dimension. So I am now in the bureau and listed as Hayate's sister and he invited me to stay here because he said it was my house anyway
>>19656731"I don't understand what exactly has happened, but I will lay out the facts as I know them.I'm Hayate. I succeeded in creating a genderswap potion several weeks ago, but the effects were not reversible. I was doing some tests with The Doctor (however long it's been since the split), when something very strange happened. Once I left the Doctor's lab, I found the bureau to be abandoned. I had no equipment, no device, no one. I was alone. Just now, I was following some sounds when I came upon the Director outside the detention area. She told me that I was in an alternate dimension of the bureau that only she has access to. She brought me here. I don't know what's going to happen now. >>19657565>"So... What's with Perrinne, Yuki and the Major?"Well that's complicated. Apparently at some point in the future I'll go back to when I visited the witches' home dimension and get Perrine pregnant. She's certainly on the exact same tier as a device personality - and has memories to boot. What Kraus did to that device was alter its personality in Naru's and insert her memories before it had even taking its first metaphorical breath. It's less like abortion and more like if a fetus had its genome completely rewritten and some memories implanted part way through gestation. We've dealt with construct NPC's in sims before and since that incident, and haven't had any problem with them getting erased. Naru is a special case.
>>19658540The fact of the matter is this: We knew and cared about Naru.Does anyone remember when we killed Raz? We didn't even so much as blink when we killed him. Hell some of us felt accomplished.

Raz was the one exception and we even tried taking to him first. We will flip if we find out what happened. You don't have to like it any more than I liked us getting Naru this shitty way
>>19658840Raz was not the one exception. There was also Caster in the Bluebeard Scenario. The only hesitation we did was to keep him talking while we took in the situation, then Timestopping to kill him as soon as we identified where the last of the kids were. If I'm remembering correctly, we've actually only played through 5 simulations that weren't against combat exercises against fellow trainees:1. Bluebeard2. Infinicon3. Melmo's combat sim against monsters4. Raz5. St. Vicious1 we didn't show any reluctance to kill, 2 we didn't kill partly because we didn't have lethal weaponry and killing would have taken longer than simple KO's, 3 didn't really have anything resembling sapients, 4 we didn't hesitate to try to kill Raz (talking to him was just fight banter, it didn't involve trying to get out of killing him), 5 we wanted to complete the mission without calling in a strike because we thought we could do better, and we don't like the idea of calling in an airstrike that would kill civilians. And as for real-world situations where we killed, we've already killed sentients in the form of the Martians that attacked Castle Barin. It was in self-defense, yes, but we killed those Martians without any hesitation or even any remorse.
>>19659084We were disappointed, but it was Hina that took it really hard.
>>19659037Blue beard was a magus not a humanInfinicon we didn't killMelmo's sim was against non humansRaz was a fully thinking human constructWe fought our shadow selfSt vicious we avoided civilian casualties and destroyed an alien life formWe didn't see any Martians in the castle barin attack and they were threatening our friendsWe wanted to drug Raz which was why we tried talking to himEvery other situation we have hesitated to hurt anything that has no reason to cause us harm.Like say an AI that is just about the be activatedWe didn't kill it but it will cause us a problem because Kraus did so happily. We trust him but this is a new side that Hayate was almost certainly unaware ofAnyway until LG says one way or the other it isn't going to change muchAlso the Raz fight he tweeted "you now realize Raz was Hayate's first reall kill and it was up close" we haven't seen anything from it but that doesn't mean he isn't keeping some PTSD in reserve to fuck us with
>>19659084Where the hell did my post go?>Plus during the bluebeard mission we took it really hard when he killed those kids>>19659102This is true.
>>19659109>We wanted to drug Raz which was why we tried talking to himThat was us putting Molotov into his tea. That's pretty much explosive assassination; there was nothing nonlethal about that.
>>19659155I never mentioned what to drug him with.I actually wanted to watch him explode from Molotov teaI am just saying it isn't particularly in our character to pass such things off given our history of these sorts of events with even lesser constructs
>>19659184And I agree to an extent that our character is far more willing to choose a non-violent approach when possible. And, if Kraus really did delete a fully sapient AI, and we find out that he did it with a cavalier attitude, then yes, I think we should be a little disturbed by it. But I don't think that we should flip shit over it like we did when we thought we lost Naru the first time, since part of the reason why we were so invested in her was because she reminded us of ourselves so much. And as for the loss of NPC constructs in sims, I think our character would be disappointed at their deaths, equivalent to scoring badly on a test (which it technically is, since these are training sims), or losing at a video game. Be a little sad, but don't lose any sleep over it.
>>19659266SeeI agree on that point, but I still think it would be more than scoring badly on a test. So far Hayate seems to have a pretty big savior complex where he must save everyone he can because he is afraid of losing anyoneThe only time we were truly cavalier about a civvie death was the kids in the Bluebeard scenario but that I think was largely because Hina was in trouble. That and we still saved most of them
Now for the most pressing issue of all: How do we eliminate our parents as a threat?
>>19659329Point Nanoha at our planetTell her to go crazy
>>19659329First, we sever all legal ties with them, so that they can't hold any kind of legal hold over us, or put us into contracts of any kind. Then, maybe pay off with the Yakuza and give them a bonus to 'remove' our parents.>>19659350As much as I like that idea, I don't want a black mark to go on her record for our sake.
>>19659360I like it, it's constructive>>19659350Hina's family and that nice little rich girl we met, we have some ties there that we don't hate.
>>19659329What parents? Our parents are dead. It's the only logical explanation. Thus, who ever claims to be our parents must be either imposters, or zombies. One we can kick out without any twinge of conscience, and the other we can destroy with impunity.>>19659360We should ask Mike if he can do something about those legal ties while we're still in training.
>>19658564Yep he crossed the world real out, expect something terrible regarding Naru.
>>19659381Maybe have a death certificate forged, and our old identity listed as dead, while creating a new identity for us in the National Register?
>>19659381>Our parents are deadHayate's parents are fucking cockroaches man, they wouldn't die if a nuke were dropped on them. They'd find a way to sell us to whoever dropped the nuke so they could go on a three day gambling bender in Vegas.
>>19659457Of course they're not actually dead. Yet. It's an excuse to do horrible things to the "imposters/zombies"
>>19659480If you think about it, if Hayate and Mio are our great parents in this timeline, would we not be the legal guardians of our parents?
>>19659543our great grandparents*
>>19659543I think it doesn't really work that Hayate & Mio are our ancestors in our own timeline. Between Hero of Japan and Best Butler of all Butlers as influences, there would have to be some serious drift to reach the recklessness of Hayate's parents
>>19659631Well there goes reverse sell our parents as a plan...
>>19659671What?
>>19659706Im not sure anymore, came up with it after sleeping through my Roman Law course one day.
>>19659727We get them declared unfit to take care of themselves and then we take legal custody and sell them to someone! Brilliant!
>>19659861Eh, let's just cut legal ties. To start with.
>>19659350But A-tan might still be down there. That reminds me, where was it we did the scrying from where we saw Bike-kun? Because I've been thinking of maybe doing that again, and maybe using it to find A-tan's ring. Or maybe even A-tan herself.
Honestly I think trying to deal with his parents might be the one thing that sends Hayate into a complete breakdown. They've been in complete control of his life for a very long time and he's definitely not yet over everything they've done to him.If they turned up suddenly I would expect Hayate to be unable to do anything about them unless the girls were there to save him from them
>>19660133That's definitely an option, but I like the incredulous rage alternative, which is what I've been suggesting all along with the "My parents are dead" lines.
>>19660133>>19660369And then we can get cool sith powers?
>>19660629Wait, what?
>>19660650Im under the assumption that any "evil" actions will set us on the way to spawning negayate.
>>19660754Nah. Not when it involves Hayate's asshole parents.
>>19660763If I remember Fallout 3, killing bad characters adds good Karma, you may just be right... but then again no man is as accursed as the kinslayer.
>>19660782They aren't kin if we disown/divorce/whatever them.
>>19660953I mean, genetic links can only carry you so far.
>>19661000Again this is true.
