"Please. I'm a fourteen year old girl. Do you think greed or corruption would play any part in my rule?""That's precisely what I'm saying." She said. "I may have been high lady for less than an hour, but... you're rather idealistic. You'll age, and you'll gain greed and corruption. It's inevitable. Now, I'm not critisizing anything- if anyone can pull off the sort of thing you plan, it's most likely you- I'm just... warning you. I'll listen to Sirius, and I'll join his coalition. Or yours, I'm still not clear on that... But be careful not to fall.""Kristoph is sworn to tell me if I start doing stuff like that. I have several friends who will set me straight before that happens." You shrug. "I have no interest in wealth and power.""I see." She said, and sipped at her tea. You swipe a biscuit for Grayson. "I'm not a dictator, and I won't become one." You say.She smiled. "I believe you. You know, when I was your age, I started squiring. I'd already known what I was going to do with my life- I was going to be a knight." She said, and leaned forward. "And I succeeded! If I can. . .why can't you? I wish you good luck."

You nod, and she starts chanting. You close your eyes, and push your magic into the spell she's weaving. It takes... quite a long time, but you recognize bits from that shapeshifting spell, and from your nightly magic-textbook reading, you can tell that she's doing quite a long, involved spell- one that explains each and every fact about the creature she's creating. From what little you know, you can tell that she's not using her mind to shape the spell- it's usually faster, but not as easy and takes a tremendous amount of focus. An amorphous blob of flesh appears in front of you, and as Kaliel continues chanting, it continues changing. First, the paws sprout out, complete with finger-like appendages and claws. Second, the head. Third, the tail- almost more like a fin than a tail; and fourth, the two long, spindly appendages, tipped with claws. You see them twitch, and the claws spread, before squeezing back into a spike.> Zerglingatta acquired! The spell complete, you pull away- despite your willpower being quite strong, it seemed this spell took a lot more than a normal spell."...Wow." I'll get to work deciphering them now. Hey, Gehenna?""Yeah?" Gehenna asks."You're good at dates and times, right?""Right." He responds. "It's my specialty, after all.""Then come help." She said, and he walked over. You close your eyes, and reach toward the world key.Strange... it's stopped ringing. You quickly grab the Brick and Move it with you. When you come to, the brick is sitting in your palm, perfectly cleaned of blood.
rolled 48 = 48>>19794318Scry on Eidolon, just to make sure he be dead
>>19794318Why do we want this fucking brick again? It's a fucking brick. And for all we know it was load-bearing and when we visit the place again it will be a pile of rubble.
rolled 47 = 47Well since we have the Brick we might as well Bind him to it. Rolling.((With how well we seem to move things its almost getting to be another natural spell))
rolled 81 = 81>>19794318We have some Eidolon blood around, maybe that will help.>>19794358It's the brick we smashed Eidolon's face in with, it's not connected to the cathedral any more. We didn't smash the whole cathedral into his face. Although maybe we should have.
>>19794381Would be a bitch to have with us.
You close your eyes.It *was* eidolon's murder weapon, so it should serve well to contain his soul...You reach outward... but nothing. You can't grasp anything, let alone anything in the spirit realm. It's as if there's no true connection, on the deepest level. your magic fades into the ether, and your muscles ache- no matter, you probably have at least a quarter of your magic power left. Perhaps with Eidolon's blood, you could bind him...You open your eyes, and see Gehenna and Raziel both hunched over one of Gehenna's books, speaking in hushed tones about random numbers and equinoxes- an almanac, it looks like.
>>19794412I presume even with blood we were unsuccessful.
rolled 27 = 27>>19794412Just summon him normally in a circle with the blood then.We can keep the brick as a backup non-magical face-smasher and maybe build it into the foundation of our palace or something symbolic like that later.
rolled 58 = 58Looks like that was a bust, oh well. Lets use up the rest of our magic on something silly. We do need to build more stamina.>>Rolling to have Bob, Greyson and Kell be able to share his thoughts \ emotions with Ishelda. No hivemind and should be their choice when to do so.
rolled 87 = 87I suggest scrying Eidolon just to make sure he's dead.
Finally, they stop speaking."Bad news." Gehenna says. "We have at most, a week, or the stars will be in the wrong position for another hundred years.""This is why I hate rituals." Raziel says. "The stars need to be just right, or it has to be the right day of the week, or you need some nebulous amount of arbitrary metaphysical concepts, like honor or chastity. . It's useless.""I. . I enjoy them." Gehenna says. "They're like puzzles.""Gehenna?" You ask. "May I use Eidolon's blood?""Certainly." He says, and pulls a phial of blood out of his robeYou close your eyes, the brick in one hand, and the phial in the other. Using the phial as a beacon, you call some. . strange, ghostly entity, snatching it with your magic, and binding it to the brick. You head Eidolon screaming, and see a spectral rabbit.Heh.The brick shimmers, and then chunks fall off of it, shaping it into a perfectly carved, statuette of a rabbit. glinting eyes of ruby stare out, and the same markings that were on Gareth's skull is now on the brick. "Do you want his crystal, too? The one he asked us to keep hold of?" Gehenna asked. He didn't seem to notice the rabbit statuette.
>>19794456So, set up a tele-empathic link? I'm down with that.
rolled 67 = 67Is hivemind capable of going intos spirit realm? I hope yes
Wait why is the world key not ringing anymore?
rolled 82 = 82>>19794412What about the Heart? It was named after his wife and it's just a useless crystal now but there might be an emotional connection there.
>>19794497Oh no thanks, I already got him.
rolled 43 = 43>>19794497Sure, let's see what the crystal is. We can't accidentally bring him back to life with it or anything now that he's bound.
"Sure, let's see it." You say, and he pulls it out of his robe... Then opens up the lockbox it's in, and *then* unwraps the cloth around it.The crystal is a pale, pale blue, very similar to a spellcrystal, but it's different, somehow. It reminds you of Ser Bubbles, back when you had first met him. You can't seem to discern what it is, mostly... save that it's related to Ser Bubbles, somehow.
>>19794615Ask Bubbles what it is. Seems the obvious course of action.

Please scry for the World Key
rolled 79 = 79>>19794665Rolling for this
>>19794615Ask Bubbles what it is. Then, let's figure out the boons we'll ask of Gareth.Since we're playing the collecting game, I think this sounds reasonable, though I'd ask of your opinions on it. And Exabyte's as to whether or not the third boon is valid.Boon one: Tell me of your master and her plans, why you've been harassing me all this time, and your story. If the 'and' somehow make it count grammatically as more than one then we'll just go with a general 'spill your guts' boon and then start asking questions.Boon two: Cut all ties to the Void Queen, and keep them cut for all time.Boon three: Join the counsel of spirits I'm building and serve as an adviser and confidant as Azariel is doing. You're free to roam the spiritual realm as you see fit, but I may call upon you through the totem. Since this boon is binding, you will be expected to answer unless something stops you.
>>19794715>The third isn't valid, as boons have to be 'completed' sometime. If it's a constant thing, it doesn't count as a boon. You can deal with the crystal later- for now, you need to find out what happened to the World Key.You close your eyes, and scry for it. It's easy to find, still not being rung... And it's simply sitting in the belltower of the cathedral.Oh. Simple- they just aren't ringing it right now.You pull away from the scry, and bring up the crystal."Bubbles? Do you know what this is?" You ask, showing it to him and Ell.Bubbles sparks, and a strong pulse of magic comes from him. It blows you, Ell, and Kristoph off of their feet, as the crystal tears itself away from your hand, and implants itself into the bracer."It contains. . .Orders." Bubbles says, the four pale blue crystals glinting from his surface. "From Eidolon. Codeword, Resurgence."You suddenly have a bad feeling.>Roll 1d100>Not your own magic-related, so I'm taking only the first roll.

Suddenly, the crystals flickered back orange."It's a good thing I have my own standing order to prevent me from having to do anything against my will." Bubbles said. "I am rather surprised he kept a fourth part of me in reserve. It's just like him."Ell pushed himself to his feet. "Are you certain, bubbles?""I am certain." He responded.
>>19794734Would it be valid if it were changed to an offer, a consideration, rather than an order?>>19794767You roll-blocking motherhubber. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE JUST DONE?

>>19794835We can't delete any of his orders because he has the standing order to discriminate about orders to maintain his free will. Don't be silly.
So can this hivemind acess spirit world or not? If yes how much it take for them to make everything one?
"Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Sir Bubbles, are you alright? what were the orders?""Obey Eidolon. If eidolon is deceased, bring him back to life. If Eidolon is disguised, recognize him by the word 'resurgence'." Bubbles says. "Overall, it's a second set of the standing orders I had when we first met. I'm deleting them." He said. "But now that I have a fourth part of me, I'm... better than alright. More powerful."
>>19794808What were the orders? Do you think there are any more parts you're missing?>>19794813Rolled a 35 instead of a 90. Yep, I did that deliberately. You mad?

Raziel, Gehenna, do you think we can fit in two of these rituals before the week is through, and our opportunity lost?""Certainly." Gehenna said. "These rituals aren't too energy intensive- you just have to do it right. We can do it twice. Why do you ask?"You hold up the rabbit statuette."Oh.""Anytime you're ready," Raziel said, having drawn a circle on the deck, and lit black candles. It's still in bright daylight, but she doesn't seem to care. "Put the soul container inside the center of here."> [] Eidolon> [] Gareth> [] Other???
>>19795015Now we ride to Orcland and play with Bob and Kell for the trip.
>>19795015Eidolon first. Asking Gareth about the Void Queen is probably going to lead to a thread-end and that's no good, so we'll start with Eidolon.

>>19795015> [x] OtherStand in it! Our body contains our soul, and when we're forced to release it we'll transcend! Flawless plan!
You set down the statuette, and Raziel starts chanting, in some strange, alien tongue you've never heard before. It's beautiful, almost painfully so, and something... remorseful lies behind it. As she sings, the candles glow brighter, and suddenly burn the dark red of hellfire.Light shines from the rabbit, and an ethereal face ascends above it."I have been bound by the Arakoatoa Compact, and must give you three boons. In trade, you must free me after my boons have been given. If either of us break this compact, their souls and lifeblood are forfeit, and the Arakoatoa will arrive. Do you agree to this compact, Ishelda, Queen of Arcturus?" The voice- Eidolon's apparently- said, somewhat robotically- as if he were reciting what he had to say. His voice returned to 'normal', and the face sneered. "And before you ask, no, I don't know what the hell the Arakoatoa is. Just let's get this over with so I can get out."

"Raz, you didn't say anything about forefitting my life." You say, but she's still singing that unearthly, alien song."Uh. . .Then I recommend not breaking it." Gehenna says. "You'll be fine if you don't. In fact, it's entirely possible that the Arakoatoa or whatever have died off.""Good day, Eidolon. "How did you manage to not get killed for so long with that attitude?""Because I'm awesome." The whispers faded."What exactly did you turn into, when you first came back to life?""A chimera." He said. "A fusion of every sapient being I'd ever seen before, with the strengths of all. I'd spent a lot of time in The Mind designing it.""Could you elaborate upon the Gearworks and the Sunder?""The sunder is a hammer. Massive, powerful, and it can only be moved by the arm of the holder. It can be an unstoppable force, an unmovable object, whatever the holder desires. I've seen Tyr stand on it, suspended by it as if gravity did not exist. Gearworks, meanwhile, is. . .different. It's a puzzlebox, with constantly shifting sides. I've only been able to get past the first stage, and ended up within a . . labyrinth. It's the only artifact I know of that is more powerful than the World Key. When I almost starved to death, and left the labyrinth, the Gearworks was gone.""Why did you all choose to play the Game? >>19796170Actually, the mana tea was basically 'why the hell not, it makes sense' so yeah, you can make mana potions. Also you can cure astral fire by making tea out of the modified, anti-astral-fire GL.>>19796184>Not exactly. The closest you can do is what you're doing now. It's either completely free, or bound to an object.>>19796185>Hasn't been, since you added the GL. Alongside removing the mast and sails, they also wired long GL vines alongside the outside of the ship, and the cabins each have windows now and stuff. The windows were an afterthought, after they figured you couldn't go in water anyway, or you'd drown the flowers.
As one of our questions we should have asked if there was any way he could be resurrected again or if he had any more contingency plans. It might have been safe to free him. Can we still ask questions seeing as the ritual isn't over?

>>19796251Exabyte, why do you have to make us accidentally become the evil one all the time?
>>19796272No. We can't. We have a WEEK. The Void Queen isn't going to confront us until the next arc.Which is two years in the future. He won't be able to be freed properly until a century passes. If we break the Rabbit, the Arrakoatoa will probably get pissed and destroy us both utterly for disrespecting the Compact by unbinding him before he's given a third boon.Next thread we're going to do some right and proper thinking, because we acted in haste. Maybe ask that he help us heal the Venerable Queen as his third boon, apologize for trying to 'protect' him when he can damn well do it himself, and let him go to his love, wishing them well.>>19796281... Anon. What's wrong with you?I mean, theoretically that might work and keep them both safe, but I don't think Eidolon will like it. I guess we'll have to ask him if he would concede to that, to keep him and her safe from the Void Queen baleeting their souls to get at us.
>>19796332Maybe we can magic up some sort of anti-necromancy field and tie it to his spirit? Then he can have his afterlife uninterrupted by anyone else.
What if we leave his soul bound to the rabbit, but send the rabbit to the afterlife. Then it's impossible for him to come back unless somebody works out how to resurrect a rabbit statue made out of brick.
>>19796267>You can land on land, and it already has a flat bottom, as it's orcish design.>Made up the orcish design fact just now, whee, fiction!>>19796281>The Heart is actually only named after her- it isn't her spirit, soul, or anything about her other than her name. It's Eidolon's monument to her.
>>19796347>>19796383Why are you all so darn focused on preventing him from coming back? He's not interested in the game anymore and probably would've lived happily (barring Void Queen shenanigans) with his love in the afterlife forevermore. What we're trying to prevent is Void Queen shenanigans; his very soul being annihilated. He doesn't even care about that danger, so we should release him. He should live and die by his own hand, not barred by us because "hurr i gotz 2 protekt u." We can ask about keeping him and Keledanis safe in Eidolon's totem, but if that's not cool with him then he's being released. We'd be a monster to keep him trapped.

Idea for another psuedo-badend Ishelda version:Ishelda decides the best way to stop Void Queen is by absorbing and integrating all of the souls under her own will. ALL of them. The Wraith Queen is born, in direct conflict against the Void Queen, Mind Queen, and of course - the Infinite Cloak Works.
>>19796571>Infinite Cloak WorksHAH!
>>19796571>Mind Queenyou mean the "good end" zerg queen from earlier in the thread?
>>19796571What happens when True Ishelda ends up meeting her dozens of multiversal doubles with their silly gimmicks?Heck, what happens when they all meet the Ishelda from the Nearfuture/Space Cyborg Quest universe, who is a HOUSECAT?

>>19796618Obviously they all cease their in-fighting as soon as Cat-Ishelda shows up, and immediately bow down before her as the Queen of Queens.

>>19796748Other than the namesakes and the similar relationship 'loving animal - loving owner', they're not the same people. To be explicit, other than random comments and references, I doubt there will be a crossover quest. At least, not until I've done many more quests.
Okay, so let me see if I've got these straight so far:Void Queen is what happens when Ishelda goes full demon.Mind Queen is what happens when Ishelda goes full hippydippy.Wraith Queen is what happens when Ishelda starts literally eating souls.Infinite Cloak Works is what happens when Ishelda summons ALL the cloaks. So the basic premise is that Ishelda taps into some nigh-infinite power source and goes mad with power. Let's build on that premise. Because reasons.Ishelda goes full mother nature, becomes all of the plants, and creates a sort of world-mind not unlike James Cameron's Avatar. Result: Nature Queen.Ishelda creates an artifact using the new Rose Heart that transforms Astral Fire into Magic energy at an infinite rate, and then has it replace her own heart. It's so efficient that she uses all the stars of every system of every galaxy in her entire dimension to fuel her own power. Result: Tengenn Toppa Gurren Queen or Astral Queen.Ishelda attempts to feed a thunderstorm with magic in order to create rain for the Wastelands so that the new Galadriel flowers will bloom and spread more quickly. The Thunderstorm begins a feedback loop, giving Ishelda more energy through lightning which she then feeds back into the storm. It becomes a planet-wide storm with Ishelda at the center, unable to stop feeding it. Result: Maelstrom Queenc'mon guys, let's come up with even more.
>>19796889dear god what the fuck do you think you're doing?
