Two years ago, you were a Magical Girl, and you were the very picture of one. Beautiful, generously-endowed, and generally peerless in three key areas: combat, markmanship, and housewifery. You can easily fight four grown men at once, put a round in a flea's ass 400 yards away, and perform a tea ceremony worthy of royalty - all in the same day. And you have done exactly that, in the same order, during the course of your storied career.During the course of said career, however, you've gotten yourself into certain situations that may in fact rely on a fourth key area: a singular force of will that your superiors had told you time and again was your best asset, tempered with the kindest soul imaginable. A cold, sharp mind of what needed to be done, sheathed with an almost heroic moral code that you stubbornly held fast to. An iron fist in a velvet glove. This is one of those situations. And you can't help but feel that this might be where everything ends.
>>20161365You are Tomoe Mami. Two years ago, you accepted an assignment from your Incubator, Kyuubey, to purge a gestating Witch a few blocks away from your own apartment. With Miki Sayaka, fellow Magical Girl and Eversor, you made your way to the chasm between realities, where the real world as you knew it ended and the Witch's barrier began. Barely having transformed did the both of you detect another Magical Girl inside the barier with you - and they're as close to death as anyone can ever be. With Sayaka's help, you find her in the worst position imaginable.Supine on the ground, unconscious, and with what looks to be wurm-like monsters flying overhead. Each one the size of whales. Each one grinning madly with mouths bristling with teeth. Their eyes, mad and wide and staring, darting eratically in different directions, as if looking for something to murder. You need to get her out of here. What did you do in this situation?[]You distracted the monsters.[]You had Sayaka be the distraction.[]You had some other plan up your sleeve.
IM HERE!!!!!
[X]You distracted the monsters.Fire EVERYTHING Mami!
[X]You distracted the monsters.I have yet to read anything but this sounds like what Mami would do so I cast my vote anyway
>>20161365Insert forboding music here.
>>20161372We distracted the monsters. We didn't have the time to try anything else, so Sayaka was told to grab the girl and escape while we covered them
>>20161365>[x]You had some other plan up your sleeve.A witch can have many arms, but only one core. Find it, and cut it out.
>>20161372[x]Distract them yourself, use Sayaka as injured magical girl shuttle service.
[x]Distract them by shooting a target away from Sayaka and the girl. Possibly at the roof or at a point near the roof to draw the attention of the worms.
>>20161372>[]You distracted the monsters.Sayaka gets the other girl to safety
>>20161448>thinking they wouldn't follow the sound of the gunshot as opposed to the bullet impact
I wonder how likely it would be for the flashback to end in a paradox
>>20161463Unlikely.Remember the picture in the first thread.

>>20161480This picture.
>>20161372[x]You distracted the monsters.Set flintlocks to SPAM
>>20161480Mami with a red bloody line crossing through her neck in a memorial photo, I guess.
[x] You distracted the monstersDo this.
>>20161486Fun fact - losing head wouldn't kill you for good. Losing Soul Gem would.Mami had it in her hairpin in ep. 3 of PMMM, so she lost both at the same time.
>>20161505Yeah that's not smart.I think MGNQ Mami has it somewhere else, or she's a copy, like murderface, which would link copies to golden weapons.
And now I leave for work. I'll catch the rest of the thread on the archive or at lunch if it's still running then.Don't die, tg!
>[x]You thought of some other planI'd try to think of some clever plan here, but I'm not too familiar with either of these MG's powers. And we don't have a lot of resources at our disposal, either.Although, if we can move about the room without getting seen, Sayaka and might be able to rig up some sort of distraction using clever use of muskets and ribbons. Unlimited swords on the part of Sayaka could create a very dangerous sniper's nest. When the musket nest is triggered, those creatures will immediately go to investigate the noise, probably with murderous intent. Hopefully they'll be slowed enough by the ridiculous amount of swords so that Mami and Sayaka can go and free this magical girl.
Why don't we use our ribbons to hold all the whales in place
>>20161552Sayaka has her unlimited swords and enhanced regeneration. Mami has unlimited rifles and ribbons for binding or building structures like platforms.
>[x]You distracted the monsters.Even without meta knowledge it's easy to see that sending Sayaka in against those flying close combat beasts would be too dangerous. Lets make it our priority to get the other girl and then get out. To do that we should distract the candy whales from a distance whilst Sayaka gets the other magical girl.
>>20161402 >>20161383 >>20161382Yes. Yes, of course. You didn't have time to process a whole lot of theoreticals, or go over a well-planned practical with Sayaka. You were acting on pure instinct. You saw someone that needed saving. Someone that needed protecting. And you, Mami Tomoe, would not let that Magical Girl remain here for a moment longer. If she is well and truly dead, then at the very least, you can give her a decent burial. If she was still alive, then you can finally sleep a bit easier at night, knowing that some good comes out of being a Magical Girl. Not much, but some."Get her out of here, Sayaka-chan." You whisper to Sayaka just as you tear your beret off and fling it into the air above you - just as you throw both hands downward in a quick, practiced gesture. The combined movement causing approximately twenty ivory-clad rifles to snap into reality around you, each one stabbed perfectly into the ground, a forest of slender white stalks. "The moment I start firing, I want you to run as fast as you can, grab her, and get her out of here. Make for the barrier's exit. I will hold them as long as I can, and then follow you out." You catch your beret, and slash it across the air in front of you once, twice, three times - dispensing even more of your weapons in front of you, neat little rows of weaponry, just begging to be used. Just waiting to kill. You let out a breath as you confirm that none of them turned out to be gold.[1/2]
>>20161578ribbon dome with swords pointed outward, unlimited blade works-ribbon porcupine, try chewing through that ya bloody witch.probably a horrible idea but fun to imagine.
>>20161596There's no reason that they'd be gold, though. You...you've never had one turn out like that. Why are you worried? No. No. Focus. You have a life to save here."O-okay. I'll..." Sayaka seems to blink slowly at you as your plan sinks in. "Wait. What? You're going to distract them?" Her eyes go wide. "M-Mami-san, I know you want to save that girl and all, but I think maybe we should--"You reach down to pull out a rifle, one in each hand, and murmur a brief prayer as you hold them up. Each rifle solid in its weight, each flint glowing crimson red in warm anticipation. The simplest and most elegant firearm you've ever had the pleasure to fire - and God knows you've tried everything else. Point, aim, shoot. No need to reload - just throw it away or use it as a club if there's need to. You turn to Sayaka and give her a smile, before saying four words that you know worked every single time. Four words you took care not to abuse, so as not to dull their effect. Four words that you knew would settle this argument here and now, and have Sayaka doing what you've just ordered her to do."I'm counting on you."[2/3]
>>20161638Sayaka nods, swallowing audibly. "O-okay. Alright, Mami-san. I'm...I'll do it. I'll meet you outside the Barrier." She smiles as well, awkwardly at first, but then more confidently as your encouragement takes effect. So simple, Sayaka-chan was. So predictable. That was why you liked her so much. With another snap, you hold out both rifles, fingers curling around the triggers. How did you distract the monsters?[]You engaged each target one by one, making sure to pump enough shots to kill before moving on to the next.[]You gave Sayaka covering fire by shooting at as many targets as you can in the shortest span of time.[]You shoot but making sure not to hit the monsters. You wanted them to be distracted, not necessarily aggressive.

>>20161642How's about we shoot all of them to get their attention first, then go for them one at a time? Couldn't stand to let Sayaka or this strange other magical girl get (any more) hurt, now.
>>20161642>[]You gave Sayaka covering fire by shooting at as many targets as you can in the shortest span of time.If we aim for optimum cover fire, I suggest we pick this, so all clown whale witches are focused on Mami and Mami alone. Risky but it gets the job done
>[]You engaged each target one by one, making sure to pump enough shots to kill before moving on to the next.Killing them as they enter the killzone will do us a lot more good than if we merely injure two or four at a time.

Give Sayaka covering fire.We can't trust that they will all go for us just because we attack, they seem to be watching the hurt girl so Sayaka might get caught if we don't cover her.
Kill them as we go. They will turn hostile pretty quick, but if we hit a fuckton, they'll all be provoked and none will be down. The idea is to be a distraction, but that doesn't involve getting ourselves mobbed and ganked.
>>20161642>[x]You gave Sayaka covering fire by shooting at as many targets as you can in the shortest span of time.Covering fire! We want them all to come for us, instead of any going after Sayaka.

Gentlemen.show me your battle beats.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=992Bge849ZE
Really, what is the rate that Mami can summon rifles?Does she make an apperence after her head was bitten off? I only read vol 1 of the manga (and the anime is licensed!)
>>20161850i think the rate is: as soon as 1 leaves her hat she can summon the next
>>20161850Yes. Flashbacks to Homura's previous loops. Also, there are these things called 'torrents'. You should totally check them out.
This should be appropriate:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07qt2SXcfP0>>20161850Gun creation rate is fairly high, an average dozen or set of guns per summon set[though individual guns are summoned one at a time], maximum nearing a hundred or so.>Does she make an apperence after her head was bitten off?Technically, no, she was dead as dead can be. Though she did appear in alternate timelines, most memorable of which is when she lost major SANs points and murdered kyoko I believe
Oh hey, a song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h9RFezubG0
Something that was brought to my attention: Mami knew about black eyes and golden weapons two years before Chiaki. So, she knew or had some idea of what Kirika was going through.Mami trying to save Kirika was her attempt at saving herself by extension. Chiaki refusing to back off and mercilessly killing Kirika was a reflection of what Chiaki might do to her too.Food for thought.
I much prefer this music sharing to the usual argument storms.
>>20161867I thought she was alive at the end since the witch that killed her technically never existed?
>>20161888I mentioned that last thread I think. It is an interesting development and it explains why she was so reserved around Chiaki.
>>20161888It does explain a fair amount of UNDERSTANDING that Mami displayed.
>>20161670 >>20161658 >>20161653You bring both rifles closer together as you draw a beat on one of the monsters - this particular one looking bigger and meaner and nastier than the rest. The forest of teeth in its drooling mouth stained pink, as if it just had a particularly ambulatory meal. A meal that probably didn't have time to even scream. It will be the first to die, you decide. You feel Sayaka tense up beside you, crouching low on the ground. She'd abandoned both of her swords behind her - she'll need her hands free to grab the girl, of course - and you hear her whisper a prayer of her own, one you recognize as the Litany of Fear. A smile briefly crosses your lips at the irony of the situation. Anyone else would have been scared out of their wits, Magical Girl or no. Being outnumbered in a Witch Barrier is not a situation anyone deserves to be in, no matter what the reason. Unless the reason itself was to save a life. In which case, you do not have a right to be scared. You have no right, no time, no room to be. For you are, after all, to be their salvation. Their angel. You stopped being afraid the moment you decided to save her.[1/2]

>>20161939Her boobs are her ammunition pouches. they look soft and fluffy but there's hundreds of rounds of ammunition in there.
>>20161941here: >>20161682
>>20161906Your fingers tighten around the triggers, and it's with a small indrawn breath that you pull them all the way. The hammers clicking as they slam forward in perfect time. Triggering the firing mechanism with a spray of red-hot flinders. Both rifles kicking in your hands, the brutal recoil making your entire frame quiver, the blinding flash of the muzzle flare erupting a split second before the thunder-crack of the twin detonations. The noise loud enough to echo throughout the entire chamber. You've already disposed of the rifles and had already picked up two fresh ones even before the rounds themselves make impact. The two bolts of golden light spearing right through a grinning face, right between the eyes, having turned towards you as soon as the guns themselves had barked their brutal roar. You've already picked a new target even before the light in those crazed, multi-hued eyes dim as it wobbles in the air before crashing into the ground in a crumpling nose dive.Sayaka utters the worst expletive you've ever heard from her so far before she all but disappears from your side. You only catch a brief glimpse of her cape unfurling behind her as she runs, impossibly fast, almost fast enough to be unseen. And it's then that everything goes to hell, as ten other faces turn towards you. Smiling. Grinning.Hungry.How did you proceed?

Deculture please go on ;_;
>>20161991 >>20161988 >>20161987It's a bit disconcerting to note, right then, that they didn't so much as recognize that one of their kind had just been summarily dealt with - but they even seemed to take delight in it, as you see three of the grinning beasts break off from the pack now slowly floating towards you. They slither through the air, bodies quivering in an almost liquid fashion as they eagerly converge onto the corpse of their slain kin - and it's then that you see them start to feast. Cannibalizing their relative. Teeth ripping into skin, muscle, bone. The wet crunching making your very skin crawl as you watch this bestial, taboo feasting, nearly distracting you from the fact that you have the rapt attention of a number of these creatures, a horde of them drifting ever closer, each one looking at you with hunger in their eyes. It's only when they seem to have gotten enough of an eyeful of you that they start to charge. No longer meandering through the thick, cloying air - you actually see them rear up and then dive towards you, eyes gleaming, mouths opening. Each one poised to either swallow you hole or bite a neat chunk out of your body. Either way, you did not envision yourself dying in such a fashion. Such an exagerrated, almost cartoonish death. Eaten alive by a Witch in its own barrier?Certainly not.
>>20162251It's August already. That means all the kids were taken away on holiday by their parents.
>>20162255Oh, thank you. I was beginning to think I was in the wrong thread. It was rather eerie. It might be because we're Mami. We do seem to be agreeing far more on what to do, seeing as there is less room for character (mis)interpretation.
Oh, Mami. If only you knew.
>>20162251>>20162350We are also in a flashback thread; no one's favorite ships are being threatened. Hopefully, though, this means that we're collectively coming together about trying to live up to all the effort Deculture is putting into this.
Deculture has also taken a few days off, quests tend to lose posters when that happens. And with less posters there's less chance of argument.
>>20162354You're welcome, good sir. Might I interest you in some fine wines while we wait for deculture to post?
This is now a gentlemen only thread.
>>20162396Classy people in suits only.
Also, I too worry about Mami's Golden Gun. Does she still have it in the main timeline? Has she been suppressing it's effects the whole time? Or has she somehow rid herself of it, and if so, how, because we might want to know how to do that. And what's QB's angle, here, if he knew that at least at one point she had one; Did maybe he not want to risk Mami to experiment, so he pawned the responsibility off to us (ie; Kirika and Murderface being much more expendable then Mami, his most loyal follower)?
>>20162415Silly Mami, that's not a musket.
>>20162373Thank you, but no. I'm sitting here watching sci-fi and drinking scotch whilst waiting. A finer evening I cannot imagine.
>>20162396>>20162415...Shit, we should have STARTED with this pics. Maybe it would have kept the right mindset. *laugh*
>>20162341You start shooting. And shooting. And shooting some more. Discarding rifles with every shot, alternating between hands. Each discharge thunderous and meaningful. Each stab of recoil forced into stability with clenched teeth and braced limbs. Your curls - and other certain elements on your body - shaking briefly with every ground-shaking tremor of every rifle blast. You've already killed three of them before the fourth one smashes right into the ground you've been standing on a moment ago. Scattering inert rifles everywhere. It's just too unfortunate that you've already jumped up onto its sinewy back, running down its length. A halo of rifles hovering around you as you continue the uninterrupted stream of unrelenting gunfire, ready to be snatched up at a moment's notice. You don't notice it yourself, but you're smiling as you do this. With another jump, you hop off the monster's back - grabbing a rifle in each hand as you become airborne - and you roll to the side as you land, just another of the monsters swoop in to try and catch you in its mouth. You give it both barrels, blasting its face open with a booming report. The things smell bad when they die, you think, before tossing the spent rifles over your shoulders and grabbing two fresh ones.Five targets are dead. Six remain in the air - and you notice that two of them seem to have changed. Subtly. You realize that those are the same two that had been feasting on the one you first killed. What did you do then?[]You checked on Sayaka to see how she's doing. []You continued to attack. Purge them all first.
>>20162418Kyuubey does not strike me as the sort to get attached, even to his most valuable employee.Kyuubey probably plans to observe for now, see what happens and plan accordingly. The witch he's dealing with is immensely powerful, and if played correctly, would yield gigatons worth of energy.
>>20162361This is also a flashback/exposition episode. Not a whole lot of arguing to go around here, since it's very action driven and gives insight into some of the characters that Chiaki interacts with.Let's just hope that this persists when we get back to the present.
>>20162458[x]You continued to attack. Purge them all first.Concentrate attacks on the two that had been feasting. Don't want to get blind-sided by some new Witch power.Trust Sayaka to have done as we ordered.
>>20162458Disregard given options.Snipe out the different ones, don't even give them the chance to be a new threat.
Oh, so all the kiddies can shout "swag" and then have the shitstorm gain the pro-swag, anti-swag and whothefuckcaresaboutswag factions? Haha, no, thank you. Though by that logic anything short of the kittens one anon was posting were to blame for it.

>>20162477I agree here; go specificly after the fresh ones, who appear to have powered up from eathing their breathern. Don't let them corral you into making a bad move. >>20162458>>[]You continued to attack. Purge them all first.yeah, we do more to help her making sure the freaky beast things are dead.
>>20162458Ignore Sayaka for now, even though she's young she is capable. Splitting our attention right now could be fatal for everyone. >>20162512No, QB knows. Mami even asked him about it when she was changing for this mission, after she checked her eyes in the mirror. He knows. To this very day he knew. I just am worried about his plan. Though if Mami told the OTHERS she had a scary golden weapon... who knows. >"Ah. About that." Kyuubey is silent for a moment. "Well, from your readings, your levels have already normalized. No fluctuations, not like the last time. And your eyes have reverted to their normal color, correct?">You say yes after looking closely in your dresser's mirror. Yellow irises, white sclera, and not a wrinkle on your face. Well, of course you don't have wrinkles - you're much too young to worry about that.>"Then what happened was a fluke, a one-time occurence. Nothing more. A temporary by-product of Witch exposure. You've had no relapses ever since that incident, so it's logical to assume that you will never have it again. Put it out of your head, Tomoe Mami, and focus on your assignments. People's lives are at stake, here, and they deserve your complete attention."

>>20162567We're in deep shit once we switch back to Chiaki. Iori is mad, Mami is a golden weapon user, Midori wants to jump our bones, oh boy.
>>20162556ahahaha
>>20162567If QB's goal is the same as in the anime, then the end goal would probably the harvest of Faust's grief seed, or whoever that giant grief seed belongs to.Id wager that would yield immense levels of energy, maybe enough to stall entropy
[x]You checked on Sayaka to see how she's doing.Remember, Mami is a gold weapon user. What sets gold weapon users off? Combat.Better finish this quickly.
Actually, anybody else feel like tunnel vision? Maybe it would be smarter to spare Sayaka a glance.
>Started rewatching Madoka>Up to episode 3>MGNQ with Mami and the Golden WeaponsI can already feel the despair.
>>20162598Hm.. I had not considered that angle, that this might all be some plot to actually DEVELOP a witch strong enough for him to fill his quota (or whatever the hell the Incubators compare to each other with) in one fell swoop. He IS lazy, after all. Why do what you can do in 10 steps when you have other people do all the work and you step in at the end?
>>20162611If we check on her, we may well draw the attention of the witch-things to her as well. And that would be terrible.Just a thought.

>>20162744Kriemhild Gretchen is Madoka's witch. Most timelines, she's powerful enough to kill all humanity in ten or so days. In the final timeline, when Madoka becomes a 'goddess', Kriemhild Gretchen becomes so large that Earth is the size of one of her eyes. She was probably an universal threat then, but Madoka won out.
>>20162744>I kinda assumed that all of this is Madoka's little universe/witch barrier when she succumbed to that world-spanning witch[Gretchin I think],Kriemhild Gretchen IS Madoka witch form.I think you're thinking of Walpurgisnacht.

>>20162817Galactic then. Some people just can't appreciate hyperbole, I swear!
>>20162744My pet theory is that the entire planned community of Mitakihara Town is actually a plot by QB to raise and harvest magical girls, by using his wishes on various members of the community to build his perfect society; one that has just enough boredom and quiet despair that people want out or want to change the world. This being a planned community, it would have taken a lot of drive and effort by a lot of people to get it to where it is. That 'owning' your city, building it to the dream town YOU want it to be, is prime to the mindset to the people that live there. That people like Madoka's mother drive everything they have into their careers, potentially pushing family and friends to the side. Her moms snap wish was to get rid of her partner so she could take over the company; perfect ground for QB. Hell, the first witches in the area were probubly the founders of the city, who wished for a utopia dream where their daughters could build the life they wanted with their own two hands. Meanwhile, QB smiled and girls died.

>>20162529 >>20162477 >>20162476Yes. You continued. You decided that Sayaka didn't need to be checked on. She was your junior, yes, but she was also an Eversor. If she couldn't handle a simple extraction then you wouldn't have allowed her to tag along. The smile on your face goes wider as you slip into your rhythm, getting into your zone - and it's here that you momentarily stop being the kind, the warm, the sincere Tomoe Mami that all the juniors look up to and all the seniors look toward to for advice. The outward persona that others know you and love you by melts away, revealing yourself at your very core.A very efficient Magical Girl who sincerely enjoys what she does and is frighteningly good at it.Your movements stop becoming crisp and calculated - rather, they become quicker, easier, more fluid, more instinctive. Your body feels lighter than ever before as you discharge, dispose, and dispense rifles in the same movement. You barely even feel the recoil now, how they used to nearly jolt your shoulder out of joint if you shot a rifle without the proper bracing all but a distant memory. No longer is this some simple dealing of death in long range, this is a dance to you now. One that sees another of the beasts dead, its snake-like body torn asunder by a dozen golden rounds being rifled into it from a dozen different directions all at once.
>>20162943>dozen golden roundswe dun goofed
>>20162943It crashes into the ground just as you reach up with one hand to adjust your beret as you run - before flicking that hand outwards, your fingers closing upon the manifested rifle's handle just as it materialized. At the same time, you track the beasts remaining aloft above you - trying to pinpoint the ones that had been consuming the flesh of their own. Both your hands gripping your rifle.There. You see both of them, already heading towards one of the corpses you had reduced one of their comrades into. The others, meanwhile, are still trying their level best to pursue you.You roll to the side just in time as one of them lunge at you again, smashing its grinning face into the cake-wall of the chamber. You come to a stop on one knee, your rifle at your cheek as you aim down its barrel in a classic firing position - and it's then that you realize something that makes your blood run cold.You...you just drew a golden weapon. It's one of your rifles, the gilding is the same, the rifling is the same, even its weight...and yet it is pure gold, brilliant, almost luminous. What did you do with it?[]You used it. It being gold doesn't mean anything.[]You threw it away, and tried to draw another.

>>20163043It's implied that she had a black eyes episode, probably with blood lust, after drawing a golden rifle. ITtwas heavily implied that she told Kyubey about the episode and the black eyes, as she had him check her soul gem readings. It's not mentioned whether she mentioned the golden rifle or not.The implied episode and altered soul gem readings are enough for her inner dialogue to dread drawing a golden rifle and feel relieved at drawing a silver one. That's enough, I think.

[X]You used it. It being gold doesn't mean anything.I think Mami can take a few corruption points, firing speed is of the essence here.
>>20163152>OP picThat's meta knowledge. For all you know it might be how Mami ends up AFTER the flashback. If Mami went FLESH OF FALLEN ANGELS after using a golden rifle, I'm okay with dropping it, but if it wasn't caused by a rifle (remember, Chiaki switched without the golden gun a few times), I don't think dropping a weapon when her life could depend on it is a sane choice.
>>20163043Mami has already noticed the effects and contacted kyuubey about them once if not the weapons and seemed rather worried to the point of checking her eyes in a mirror
>>20163196>>20163152Whoops, sorry. I read your quoted post number wrong.

>>20162989 >>20162984 >>20162975That's right, you did. You took it by the rifle and tossed it as far as you could, away from you, horrified that you even contemplated using it. Even if you knew, somehow, that one shot from the golden weapon would end anything in its path - you know that nothing good would ever come from using it. You raise your arm to dispense another rifle, any rifle, praying fervently and desperately to any god who will listen to you to make it a normal one - when it's then that a blast of hot, humid, putrid air nearly flattens you against the wall behind you. You look up----and see one of the beasts right on top of you, its gigantic maw open. Its teeth jagged, blackly-charged with death, gilding a cavernous mouth curiously resembling that of a human being's - if that human being had jagged ivory tusks for teeth, of course, and had a mouth large enough to swallow a bus. Foul strings of saliva and muck and witchstuff dripping from its palate. With no time to move, to dodge, or even to scream - there is one thought that crosses your mind as you stare into the abyss. >>20163280As you feel rather than see the monster's jaws start to close over your head, the motion curiously slow, almost meandering - the last words that leave your lips is a phrase. A short one, made up of five words. Nonsensical to everyone who might hear it, although they would probably remark how foreboding it is.A crimson tinge coloring your vision as you feel the rough shape of a rifle handle press against your hand. Luxioriously warm, reassuringly solid. A golden shine filling your vision briefly. This is not how you planned on dying. Not at all. But if it's your time, it's your time. All you want now is to die fighting."MAMI!"The scream jolts you out of your reverie, the bloody mist in your vision clearing up as if it never was in the first place. The hand that roughly grabs a handful of your corset - tugging you back roughly and all but slamming you hard against the wall behind you - knocks the wind of you, and for the briefest moment the edges of your vision blur white.Making it hard to focus on Sayaka as she interposes herself between you and the monster, the sword in her hands already traveling in a deadly upward arc.The beast seems to freeze in place, before the upper half of its face slides momentarily to the side, before falling away in a ground-shaking impact. The rest of its body falls in the other direction a heartbeat later, black putrid blood geysering out of each half in turbulent bursts.[2/3]

>>20163511>>20163489>>20163457>>20163426I suppose that's one advantage of the QB company. In the anime the magical girls couldn't stop hunting the witches their soul gem would eventually blacken. However here, QB can move girls into performing important support role (remember when we were about the entire the silent room, it was commented that not all girls are out in the field) and get the ones that are hunting witches to keep supplying grief seeds. I suppose that advantage is good enough to offset a potential explosion in witch population

>>20164206>make mistake >call it trollingsure bro. Let's just continue with the quest, shall we?Deculture-chaaaaaa~n!
>>20164220Anytime man, anytime. *laugh*
>>20164220You are horrible. And not in the good sense. Just bad.
>>20163812 >>20163800 >>20163796 >>20163794You let Sayaka lead the way, the Eversor's grip painfully tight around your wrist, enough that you're sure that her fingers will definitely leave marks later - but you give no voice to your pain as you try to keep up. You hear them feasting more on their dead, and you turn against the impulse of looking. You fear that you'd lose more than your own breakfast if you do.Its' a bit funny how things turned out. Earlier you were in your element, blasting away with your rifles. Now you're letting yourself get led out of a Barrier like a horror-struck novice - and by your own junior, no less. You manage to barely get out of there as the remaining beasts are swept up in their feeding frenzy, and as you run past the wooden doors leading to the chamber, it's then that you stop, pulling Sayaka to a halt as you do so. She turns towards you, clearly incensed and ready to reiterate how it's important that you leave - when you hold up a hand as you tug your ribbon free from your collar.Your hand is shaking as you does so, but that is enough to silence her. For now.She nods and steps back as you kick both doors close, shoving a few rifles through the handles to wedge them shut. It's here, then, that you twirl the ribbon around your arm - golden light twisting into the material as you continue to manipulate its form - and it's then that it takes shape into the grand, cannon-sized barrel of the firearm you make a point to finish off each Witch you encounter with. A graceful tripod manifesting underneath it just as you prop it up in front of the doors, facing the room itself.[1/2]
>>20164301Tiro Claymore
>>20164328Tiro grapeshot claymoreNormal tiro finale just fires a cannonball right?
>>20164301Another length of ribbon pulled, this time from your sleeve, and you tie a makeshift tripwire with the cannon itself as the stinger. Should anyone - or anything - force the doorway to open hard enough, they would then trigger the biggest weapon in your arsenal. Making it fire into their stupid faces.Giving you and Sayaka enough time to get back to the outside world. And safety. You nod to the Eversor and she grabs your hand again. This time, you hold onto hers, as tightly as you can.The exit is almost in sight when you hear the roar of discharge, and feel the impact of the blastwave making the very ground under your feet tremble."Tiro Finale," you murmur to yourself, remembering the wink at the end. You can't forget that.Today started off strangely, and continued in an even stranger fashion. But that never meant you forgetting your own conventions. That would be just unprofessional."H-here it is! The exit! Mami-san, this is the exit--" Sayaka exclaims, almost tearful in relief as she points towards a glowing scar in the air only a few meters away from you - and you can definitely see the outside world peeking in from it. You gasp in agreement.Out of this Nightmare. Away from the Golden Weapon. It's over. It should be. It's done. You saved another life, while being saved yourself.You...you should probably think about retirement.Light floods everything as Sayaka all but drags you through the wound in reality.[2/3]
Hope your wife still loves you. Oh wait, you can't tech up.
>>20164377*sudden sense of foreboding*
Was it ever mentioned that Chiaki properly thanked Sayaka and Mami? Because we really should if she hasn't.
>>20164377GET ON WITH IT!
>>20164377brace for impact!
>>20164449We've lost our memories several times since then. There's no way to know.
>>20164377I... I can`t deal with the tension anymore!
>>20164465Oh right, forgot about that. Hopefully she wasn't a bitch and thanked them properly, they deserve it.
>>20164483From the way Sayaka acts towards us in the present, I'm guessing that Homu is probably going to be a bit Murderface.
>>20164483She is probably too busy being nearly dead to say anything.
>>20164509Personally, I wanna see the Full Murderface Experience (tm). I wanna EARN that scorn from Sayaka.
All worth it Nazca?
>>20164530I think its way simpler than that. She`s jelly because Mumi spends so much time doting on Murderface while Murderface completly sucks at socializing and seems to take everything Mumi does for granted. Girls are like that.
>>20164377And at that very moment - as you stumble back into the real world, feeling asphalt under your feet instead of layered cake, breathing air instead of sugary vapors - you feel a wave of nausea coming over you. One so powerful that it takes all your willpower not to retch. Sayaka is not as fortunate, and more of the breakfast you made for her ends up where it probably shouldn't be."Ugh. Wash it out, Miki," You hear a cool, silken-smooth voice say, and you look up to see a tall young woman, slender in form and in costume, hand Sayaka a water bottle. Her Magical Girl outfit as black as her short hair, offset by the presence of flared sleeves ending in white ruffles. A black leather eyepatch covering one of her eyes in a rakish angle - the other one, a bright purple, widens in concern as it focuses on you. But only for a moment. You try to smile at her, but you feel the ground start to tilt - and you almost fall, before you're caught by the one person you had long since considered your equal. Her cold, gloved hands a comfort as they grip you and hold you up."K-Kirika...I..." You try to talk, but the nausea overcomes you again. You grit your teeth, swallowing bile. You will not throw up on your best friend. "What's going on...? I feel...sick..."The girl you're holding onto for dear life sighs, before leading you to one of the benches nearby. "It'll pass. Deep breaths, Mami, slow and steady." You let Kirika maneuver you onto the bench itself - you feel much too weak to do anything right now. "Exposure to 'em always does that. A few more days and you'll get used to it."[3/4]
>>20164530Ooooh, yes! Even at the height of the shitstorm, we still didn't go full Murderface. It'd be interesting to see how bad we can make things if we all work together...
>>20164619>"Exposure to 'em always does that. A few more days and you'll get used to it."is she talking about the beasts or the golden weapons?
>>20164610Also the "Mami nearly died to save this alcoholic bitch?!" could be a pertty big factor
>>20164619>themOh dear, how long has Mami known about Kirika being batshit crazy...
>>20164619>Exposure to 'emWitches, or golden weapons?
>>20164619>"K-Kirika...I..." You try to talk, but the nausea overcomes you again. You grit your teeth, swallowing bile. You will not throw up on your best friend. "What's going on...? I feel...sick..."Now I feel bad for pulping her.
>>20164656I think the weapons.
>>20164619>before you're caught by the one person you had long since considered your equal.>"K-Kirika...I..." ... You will not throw up on your best friend.Wow, we killed Mamis best friend. No wonder she hates us.
>>20164641>>20164656Has to be golden weapons - or at least not witches. Kirika knows Mami, so she'd know that she's a veteran. The only new thing that leaps out in this scenario, the only thing that we know to be common to both of them... well...
>>20164641I'm guessing Kirika means the witch. The golden weapon was a new thing for her two years in the future. This version of Charlotte seems a lot more powerful than the canon one. I wonder if this is all hinting at super witches oe something similar.
>>20164619> Kirika saves the day>mfw
>>20164667She was dead already.Pinky was wearing her like a condom.
>>20164667>>20164673And I know feel annoyed at Mami, for giving us the cold shoulder after she knows exactly how messed up we'd be with the Deagle. Yes, we did whack what was left of her best friend, but it's looking more and more like she put us in that situation.
>>20164702Fuck, *now.Stupid alcohol...
>>20164702...I wonder if that's why she was such good friends with us? Us, Kirika, and herself. The only (known) golden weapon users. She was watching out for us. No wonder Sayaka couldn't figure out why she was doting on us so.
>>20164702She knew how far Kirika had fallen though.Even Mami saw that Kirika wasn't there any more and she had failed to save her best friend when she got stabbed. She was as much mourning her as feeling ashamed that she couldn't help her.
20164619You furrow your brow as you glance up at her. Exposure to who? Get used to what?Kirika blinks, before smiling as she brushes sweat-matted hair away from your eyes."The Culexus, of course. Kyuubey sent three of them as backup, along with yours truly. We'll mop up the Witch, while you can accompany your little rescue party back to Headquarters on medevac. Your unnamed Magical Girl along with you."You blink in confusion, before looking past Kirika to see the trio of girls standing next to the Barrier gateway. Each one of them clad in form-fitting black, their uniforms padded at main joints and spiked in some certain key impact areas. Their faces covered by what looks to be custom-built biker helmets, designed to hug and encase the skull rather than become a shell of armor. The front stylized into a grinning skull."Those...those are Culexus?" You manage to whisper, feeling every word sour upon your speaking them. It's the first time you've seen them - they've always been a sort of Officio legend. Officially, they exist, but they've always been concealed. Maybe it was because their entire point - and what made them so infamous - was that their strengths, one way or another, was based on physically disabling a Magical Girl by simply being in the same room as her. Sometimes even just the same street, or even the same country. Walking Anti-Magic batteries. One of them crouches slightly to help Sayaka up, only to have the blue-haired Eversor slap the offered hand away. You shake your head, and look up at Kirika. What did you do at this moment?[]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was.[]You passed out after thanking Kirika. You don't remember much after that.
>>20164740[x]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was.Too nice to pass out without checking on the rescued MG.
>>20164740[x]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was. Also>One of them crouches slightly to help Sayaka up, only to have the blue-haired Eversor slap the offered hand away. Being a Culexus is suffering and social stigma.
>>20164763seconded
>>20164740>[]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was.PLOT or timeskip. Decisions, decisions.
>>20164740Asked about the magical girl we saved.Mami won't rest until she knows everything is fine and she has the willpower to push through.
>>20164722Mami was friends with us before we got the deagle.
>>20164740Check in on Homura. We need to start figuring out just how much this flashback is going to tell us about our past.
>>20164740What do we want?INFORMATION!When do we want it?NOW!
>>20164740[x] Ask
[]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was.
>>20164740[]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was.its only natural to be concerned.haven't seen her since we got out, Sayaka should know something about the subject.
>>20164769foreveralone
>[x]You asked about the Magical Girl, and how she was. Also warn Kirika about that trap that was set up on the double doors. It's obvious as hell from this side, but the possibility of shrapnel from an explosion hitting a charging Witch-thing might be a possible hazard to look out for.
>>20164783Maybe she could somehow tell? I don't know, maybe you're right. *shrug*
>>20164722Or she hears something from Homura while she is caring for her, hears what happened to her what she gave up to try and fix everything.Mami may well be the only one who really knew much about murderface at all and so she dotes on her because she feels sorry for her.
>>20164769To be perfectly fair, the Culexis' mere presence is causing all that nausea and vomiting. It's a reasonable response to go "oh god get away from me so I'll stop puking my guts up" instead of accepting a helping hand from them.
>>20164832She didn't need to slap the hand away though,Reasonable or not there is still a very large element of Sayaka being a bitch.
Another thought on Mami's "retirement" to being kyuubeys secretary,She was reassigned to watch murderface much like murderface was given Midori to watch. In case anything came up or anything went wrong she was needed to deal with it. She gets around the suspicion because she is nice and caring towards murderface.
>>20164780 >>20164769 >>20164763The nausea seems to be ebbing slightly, but it is replaced with a rather alarming sense of fatigue - and you lean into Kirika's frame, one gloved hand grasping her sleeve feebly. You desperately want to sleep, to rest, to dream this horrible start to the day away - but you force yourself to remain awake. The girl is important. She is important. You manage to pull yourself close to Kirika and whisper your question into her ear. After a moment, she nods, a smile on her face."Don't worry about her, Mami. One of the Culexus jump-started her Soul Gem the moment she saw her lying there, right outside the barrier gate. Used up two Grief Seeds, too. Nice girls, those Culexus." Kirika clicks her tongue. "Sayaka could have left her in a less inconspicuous spot, but she was trying her best, so I can't fault her for that." "S-so...she's safe? The girl is safe?" You ask as you close your eyes. You almost feel like crying in relief. "She'll be alright...?""Already on the way to recovery as we speak. We'll lock her in the Silent Room, of course, ask her just how she ended up there. Basic debriefing stuff." Kirika smiles again. "Also, find out what kind of irresponsible Incubator she has. Letting her rot away in a Barrier? Not very nice. Anyway, I figure she's in better shape than you, and..." It's then that your best friend's voice starts to fade. "Mami? Hey, Mami? Don't...fall asleep on me now. Wait, does this mean I'm that boring to talk to? Mami?"You smile and hold her tighter as you finally let yourself fall into a dark, dreamless, tired sleep.Everything's going to be okay from now on, you think. Everything's going to be okay.
>>20164890>Everything's going to be okay from now on, you think. Everything's going to be okay.Mami has no fucking clue how fucked things are going to get
>>20164890>Everything's going to be okay.>Noir.Ha ha. No.
>>20164904She was right for the next two years,It is after that point that the other shoe dropped.Chikuwa!
>>20164890>jump-started her Soul Gem ... Used up two Grief Seeds, too.Am I to believe jumping a soul gem adds corruption? Also, seems like Chiaki is probably bound to Mami the same way Midori is bound to her.
>>20164890>Nice girls, those Culexus.Awww and evrybody is cold to them.
>>20164927Nah what she did was cleansed the corruption in chiaki's soul gem, jump starting doesn't cause corruption.
And this ends the first flashback for Magical Girl Noir Quest! The next thread will be focusing once more on Chiaki!Thank you for everyone who participated, and as always, feedback is always appreciated!
>>20164890The more I see Kirika act like a best bro the more depressed I get over killing her.
>>20164927Uses a ton of magic, I'd assume, to restart a soul. It wouldn't suprise me that two seeds worth is a lot. Mami mentioned earlier that simple healing take a ton of magic, too.
>Everything's going to be okay from now on, you think. Everything's going to be okay.
>>20164944you had me nervous and have left me hungry for more.great thread!
Homura has a huge jagged whole in her chest where her heart should be and Kirika says she's perfectly fine and in better shape than Mami.I find this really funny for some reason.
>>20164947Yeah but that Kirika was long gone by the time we killed her.She was more like an extension of Pinky by our time rolled around.
>>20164944Thanks for running the quest for us, Deculture, you're the best!
>>20164950We jump started midori's soul multiple times with no corruption issues. It's what they do when they touch the, together
>>20164944Thanks for the thread Deculture. You had better response time this time, nicely done.
>>20164944Damn it, I only just got back from doing real life things. Oh well, at least things seemed to go swimmingly enough.I substantially enjoyed the flashback threads--will we be seeing more of their ilk in the future? And, as always, thanks for writing this. You're golden.
>>20164890>Everything's going to be okay from now on, you think. Everything's going to be okay.I have too much experience with Madoka quests to feel relieved at this.
>>20164975Midori was merely away from her body. Homura was dead.
>>20164947She's an asshole to everyone who is not up to her level. She DID blind Kyoko in one eye just to make a gesture, after all. That type of arrogance probably made her particularly vulnerable to the lure of the golden weapons.
Hey we did what we had to do, we weren't prepared to lay down our lives just to see if she could still play nice.Anyway, it looks like Kuubs (QB) has his own versions of Blacks/nulls
>>20164993She wasn't actually dead but damn close to it.That's why Mami and Sayaka rushed to save her last thread.
>>20164999I mean blanks/nullsdamn typing
>>20164944>first flashback>implying moreI... really prefer chiaki.
Thanks for the thread, Deculture! Now I can pay attention to work! Also, if anyone wants to go ahead and post the other Chikuwas I drew up, feel free to do so. I'd do it myself but I'm on my phone.
Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/u/Sweet_Mami=======================================Laughter. I hear laughter. It has been a long time since I heard laughter.I follow the sound to its source. Ah yes, it’s a cherished memory of mine. My wedding day.Strange. Quite a few details don’t match up. In fact, I don’t remember it being this... well, packed. There’s only three people who know. Hell, there’s my entire family. All dressed up for the occasion. I thought they couldn’t afford to fly everyone here. And who would be crazy enough to give iron jewellery to a bride? It doesn’t make sense! I must be going crazy. How could I misremember something that important? At least it’s a happy occasion. My vision fades. I black out....And I’m treated to a gorgeous sight. I smell a fresh sea breeze. I’m lying on what feels like... sand? A beach? I’m lying on a beach?http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=25984992And in front of my eyes is Takane is a bikini. I have to admit, she looks really good in that. Though something seems a bit off.Oh. Her top’s undone. And she’s looking at me. I silently curse my youth.I try to catch her attention. It doesn’t work. I stare, partly in horror and partly in glee, as the bikini top slowly falls off her ample chest. I lean forward...I wake up with a start, to the surprise of the flight attendant at the doorway. I must have fallen off the chair I was on and collided with the table. My left hand throbs with pain.“Captain... the plane is ready for takeoff.” The steward suggests. “Are you okay?”“I’ll be fine.” I reply. “Let’s get ready to fly.”
>>20164984>>20164977>>20164974Thank you! And yes, we'll have more flashback threads, but evenly spaced out between the present time ones. I hope you liked this one, I thought it would be a divisive experience, to be honest.
>>20164999They likely power the Silent Room. >>20165021>The next thread will be focusing once more on Chiaki!
>>20164964it is a harsh reality that could happen to anyone wielding golden weaponry.even though Kirika treated us like crap (and vice versa i assume) i still feel bad that she had to die.>fucking pinky
>>20164944So we're going to be landing in Siberia next thread? Also, didn't ol' one eye say she got her eye sliced with the golden weapon? For some reason I can't remember her name.
>first flashbackSo we aren't done with Mami as PC. Dis gon b gud
>>20165045Kyoko? No it was a regular weapon.I think it even was before Kirika got her golden katana.
>>20165045Kyouko?
>>20165057We could flashback as any number of people, including Matsuda as she remembers her past. All that has been stated was that this was the first flashback. Not Mami's first.
>>20165077>>20165085Yeah, thanks.They why didn't it heal?
Arch up. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Magical%20Girl%20Noir%20Quest>>20165077Hmm... Maybe Kirika's connection/friendship with the Culexus is what caused it to be an unhealable wound?
>>20165021I like the flashbacks because they give us more context for the characters and their relationships.
>>20165105Nobody knows. Instead of healing the eye, the hole was filled with flesh.
>>20165105It was just stated that it healed wrong and that there's absolutely nothing under the eyepatch, not even a scar, just skin.Reason is unknown and probably a plot point of some sort.
>>20165045Yeah I think Kyoko got her eye slashed with the golden katana which is why it wouldn't regrow.
>>20165027Ah great, its you.I hope you put more through about your character being married to Mami then something you just came up with just to annoy people/give your story attention.
>>20165126>>20165136Kyoko actually had QB do that, instead of just leaving a hole. The eye itself wouldn't regrow.I could be wrong, my memory is a little vague.
>>20165029Nooooo! I wanted to see/read the interogation scene with Homuhomu! Why are you always teasing me like that!
The blonde girl shot up out of bed, kicking blankets off her body, sending a pillow flying. She panted heavily, bringing one hand up to pat the sweat off her brow. Her glorious curls damp, laying heavily against her forehead. She had that dream again... where she first met Matsuda. Her last major mission, before Kyubei-san had asked to to let the younger girls handle front line duty. She had been fine with it, at the time. She was able to take a step back, relax, enjoy herself a little. That was until a week ago, though. When her world came crashing down. When her two best friends finally had their... last fight. Kirika and Matsuda's relationship never had been a good one. Somehow, they always got on each others nerves, and Matsuda's... spotty memory didn't help, either. Mami still kicked herself for that one; if only she had been faster, or if she had been the one to heal her, instead of Sayaka, maybe... maybe... But none of that mattered anymore. She kept thinking back to that day, thinking back to every move she made, every shot she fired. Sometimes, sitting here in the dark like this, she wished... maybe... she had just let the girl go. Just left her there, focused on the witch, been the professional and done her job.Maybe... maybe Kirika would still be alive. Recoiling from the thought, the blonde sobbed, unable to stop the flow of tears. Who was she?! Thinking of trading one of her best friends for another? At least... at least Kirika had Oriko. Kirika had lived her life, knew friendship, love, and passion. Matsuda had no one.
>>20165371But... Matsuda spent her life drinking her worries away, trying to kill her emotions with painkillers, tried to chase away another that got too close. SHE certantly didn't want to live her life; she seemed to try to run from it, to immerse herself in her work, to push away any pain for the bloodlust filled moments in between. It's not fair! Why did the one who loved life to it's fullest... have to be... to the one who didn't care. On the roof, she had been filled with such despair. Two golden weapons, pointed at each other, and Mami knew, just knew, that only one ending would be the true one. A weapon would be without it's master by the end of the night. But, she too had a golden rifle; beautiful ivory, filigree in gold. She too had felt it's siren's call, it's overwhelming strength, it's prefect fit in her hand. She had never told them. Not even Kirika, when her eyes opened wide in shock and terror the first night the girl had shown the blonde the beautiful golden katana. Even at the end, with a deadly shootout between the two impossible to avoid, they thought it their destiny, to destroy the only other person with one. Little did either know, that they weren't alone, that a third had been in their midst. If they destiny as gold weapon users was to fight, to kill each other... Mami had done a marvelous job playing the other two, getting them to off one of their collective number for her. Sobbing into the darkness, she clawed at her pillowed gripped between her long fingers. It was her fault. She was suppose to have stopped them. Not lead them into a battle to the death. Maybe... it should have been me...
>>20164944Wait, are we already going to be touching down next thread? Are we going to have a chance to do some damage control back home by sending some text messages to Iori and Mami? And we still need to send that photo of Kyouko to Sayaka.
>>20165566Don't forget to tip off Sayaka about Soul Gem licking. A few brownie points with her couldn't hurt.
Am I the only one who got a laugh out of the litany of fear?
>>20166881It definitely increased my respect for Deculture. A tad.
What's with the sudden influx of people writing addons to quest threads? SWQ started it, and it's spreading and frankly I find it annoying. I wouldn't really mind if they just did in-universe stories on the other side of the world, but when they try to tie it into the main quest, it feels like the quest loses its purity. Especially if the questrunner endorses it. Some tripfag made up an OC and has him involved with one of the characters of the quest, taking away some of the control from Deculture. It feels like thievery, really.
>>20167544I personally don't mind it much, but I can understand where you're coming from. Anyhow, since Sayaka had a pretty big role in the flashback
