You are the Overlord, it's an inherited position, you rule over your surrounding lands from a tower made of black stone. It's kind of a shithole really, your mother, the last overlord was doing a great job. She'd murdered all the local nobles, abolished serfdom and was slowly building an empire with an army of golems. Then some little special snowflake chosen one came in, offed her with divine aid and sacked the tower.

Now here YOU are in your ruined tower of black stone, not a single piece of furniture intact, brimming with dark magic whilst that little bastard continent in the name of the god's of light. You're not going to stand for that. It's time to live up to all the great overlords who came before you. You raise your hands, close your eyes and call upon your dark magical powers.

>Conjure up a servant creature, these will do all your work for you.
>Conjure up a basic soldier unit, these will be your first soldiers.
>Decide what kind of multi class you are Mage/? what is your second class?

I think it's clear what we need to do.

We need to bring METAL to this land. We're an arcane mage powered by METAL and DARKNESS.

First we shall summon up PAIN ELEMENTALS to do our bidding, fleshy, squishy, things built from pain and suffering, they make a mean smoothie.

Then we shall summon up uhm...okay I'm dry, we worship metal and have pain elementals to act as our imps, or workers, what kind of metal soldier shall we have?
>>
I'm thinking wizard/artificer or something like that.

How about clockwork soldiers?
>>

Sounds okay to me.
But I was attracted to this quest because of Evil Sorcerer Quest.

You spend days building it all. It takes ever piece of unbroken equipment but by the time you're done you have them ready for work.

Homunculi, built from your blood, flesh, and hair. 3 feet tall, 100 pounds, and completely loyal to you. Ready to perform your every whim.

They're quite useful when it comes to building your Chrome army, soldiers built from steel, plated in chrome and equipped with swords and crossbows. Ready to fight and kill in your name.

For ages The Overlord has worn a cape and platemail. You trade that in today, you wear a leather coat over your platemail. You are the Overlord of METAL and you will crush all who oppose you beneath an ironshod boot. The gods of metal are at your back and the arcane energies of your black tower flow through you. Built on the intersection of 13 currents of dark magic. Your tower influences the land around it, it suits your personality and will. For eons the lands around the black tower have changed drastically.
>>
You are an arcane mage of terrific might, fueld by the energies of the black tower, you wear a magical suit of armor that increases your strength and damage resistance. You wear a black leather jacket that...well it looks boss okay?

Anyway, the black tower influences the land around it, the lands are linked to the tower and shaped by the mind and soul of the overlord, her animals, and even your subjects slowly change to suit you. The Lands have been deserts, forests, jungles, and even once an inland sea.

What kind of lands do you rule?
>>
We must capture princesses and holld them in a tower. It's required. Any thoughts about being a blatant expy from the overlord series of video games?
>>

It would be mildly amusing but the guy didn't even talk. He was just a vessel for all manner of psychotic urges. I'd like to think we can talk and have a motivation other than EVIL.

We should all read the evil overlord list too.
>>
Freshwater mangrove swamp jungles! The water rolls in from the coast and theres always at least 12 feet of water present in our lands at anygiven time. There are some forests on the border, but most of our lands are flooded swamps with villages and stuff built in the treetops.

Also remember that the our Overlord's mother had emancipated the local peasants, abolished serfdom, and was creating an army that didn't require conscripts.

The peasants would be all like "Hey! That's the asshole that wants to make us serfs and put nobles above us again! Let's get'im!"

rolled 4, 1, 4 = 9

1: Water
2: Forest
3: Mountain
4: Desert

Okay after noting all of this pretty intelligent planning I'll just roll 3d4 for terrain, then you guys can build up an industry and other such stuff, or plan to at anyrate.
>>
>>20347092
>4, 1, 4
>Desert, Water, Desert
Goddammit, OP, you've turned us into the Middle East!
>>
>>20347100
I say that we should conquer some mountain territory as soon as possible
>>
>>20347092
As long as the deserts are red dirt that's ok

That means there is iron in the ground
>>
rolled 1, 2, 3 = 6

Okay I'm gonna say 75% land, with an enormous in-land lake built up around our tower, with our tower being on an island in the center of the lake.

The desert has plenty of rare metals, and cave systems full of iron and other stuff like that. Also this means we have fiercely independent desert tribesmen as subject and a handful of desert cities straight out of all those arabian nights legends.

>Treasury: Low
>you have like... a bag of gold mom left you.

The middle east has oil in it.

You know what petroleum is good for?

Flamethrowers, that's what its good for.

You already have chrome soldiers, think about the enemies face when you roll up on him in tanks.

'course that'll take a fuck ton of resources but the point still stands.

We should try to set up some mine to get said resources.

Here is evil overlord list
www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html
>>
rolled 6, 6 = 12

>>20347202
MOST of the local populace are shiftless bastards, and absolutely worthless. You'll have to start conquering the newblood nobles who've moved in before they'll take you seriously and do as you say.

Basically after you conquer a city (there are 3 of them) you'll be abble to ens- er, LIBERATE some LOYAL SERVANTS to work for you.

You manage to recover some maps. Most of them are burnt and half destroyed, that divine little fuck works a real number on the tower. However you do find some good info.

1: Magical Ore
2: Iron
3: Petroleum
4: Coal
5: Gemstones
6: Overlord Caches

Thankfully mother encoded these maps so only someone with the secret overlord decoder ring could get any info on them, sadly most of them are half burned so you're only able to yield 1/10 the secrets you'd normall get from them.
>>
>>20347284
Nearest city then
>>
>>20347284

Do we know how well fortified the nearest city is?

Also, I want my minions. You know which ones I'm talking about.
>>
rolled 6, 4 = 10

>>20347246
You'd need to research the charm or domination spell for stuff like that. You do have enough magical resources to research one spell.

You got lucky, really unbelievably lucky. Mother left behind some caches of equipment and resources behind. You get your diving equipment and your homunculi help you dredge the lake, eventually you manage to recover quite a few resources and trinkets.

>Treasury: Very high
>GOLD AND GEMS EVERYWHERE!
>Magical Resources: Very High
>TOMES AND SCROLLS AND MAGICAL REAGENTS!
>Manpower
>Low, just the homunculi, the chrome soldiers, and you. Gettin kinda lonely man.

Well mom was pretty well prepared and made sure her baby boy would have plenty of resources to build his empire when she wasn't there to protect him.

You have two actions left.

You can research spells, build stuff (like a ballista or something...), or make magical items.

what would you like to do?
>>
>>20347195
Seriously, we start a fantasy quest. 5 seconds later, swords are hopelessly obsolete. And as figher says "I like swords!"
>>
So if were talking about justice here were gonna hunt down the so called Hero ,his noble backers and for good measure I say we murder their God. We will be doing all this good of the local peasantry and the memory of our mother. These are some nice non evil motivations.
>>
>>20347363

Research conjuration spells for creating additional golems. Our current manpower is somewhat...lacking..
>>
>>20347358
Do you want preying mantis mounts, or praying mantis soldiers?
Either way that's one project, requiring both gold and magical resources. You'll be able to do 3 more projects after that.

The nearest city, according to your maps is Dijallahad, by all accounts the Chosen one nearly razed the place to the ground. They're having a hard time rebuilding and the locals are pretty pissed at the chosen one for causing so much damage. They were really proud of their fortifications.

The Local lord has a habit of "taxing" his subjects by kidnapping pretty boys and girls and adding them to his harem. He's got your basic soldiers, chainmail, crossbows, spears, swords.
>>
>>20347363
Use magical regants to make blantant expys of overlord's minions. Then get to overlording!
>>
Mindconroll research, keeping rebellions in check and infiltrations will be much easier with it

Then make magic swords! or chainswords.., or something.

>>20347407

>>20347453
TITANIUM GOLEM.
Stronger than steel, and lighter.

And Preying Mantis Soldiers.
>>
So far I'm getting Preying Mantis soldiers, and mindcontrol. We don't need overlord minions we have golems and homunculi.

Okay anything else? you've got two actions left this week and those will be what you create for this week if you choose to do so.
>>
>>20347518
Meh preying mantice golems are rather weird. Can't we just summon the legions of hell instead?
>>
>>20347518

>>
>>20347505
I've played D&D...different house rules I guess.

I always ditched the EXP cost because I didn't USE EXP, I just gave the characters levels when I felt that it was time to up the anty, usually this was followed by a boss fight.

1: charm
2: domination
3: possession
4: enchanted item (like a ring or something)
1: Colour spray
2: Poisonus
3: Gigantic
4: Golem-modified (sword arms, that kind of thing.)

After studying forbidden tome of arcane lore (signed by your mother, containing a note telling you how much she loves you.) You develop of spell that will let you subjugate the weak willed and turn them into your slaves.

Deep in the basement of the black tower you toil away in your labs and modify the common preying mantis, turning it into a venemous nmonstrosity. Your Common HELLMANTIS soldier stand 5 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds and secretes a highly toxic poison from fangs embedded in its forelimbs.

>Treasury

>>20347681

and preying Mantis weren't horrifying enough these things could probably cleave a horse in two and eat the remains in less than 10 minutes
>>
>>20347669
I'll decide on what makes the most sense for a story, the rsandom tables add for a bit of spice.

If you really decide to do Titanium golems, well do them later you don't have titanium and you'd need major resources to make them. They'll be high tier golems, probably equipped with your most fearsome magical weapons. show some patience.
>>
>>20347371
I dunno about you but I am thinking chainswords all over golems would be metal as all fuck.

It also makes them melee effective and if we make tanks we can add choppy bits to the sides...

Christ this must be what being an ork is like, all these thoughts of dakka and choppa. I need some green facepaint and big teef I think
>>
>>20347681
Marshal our forces and liberate Dijallahad.

The ruler will be given 1 chance to surrender. If he surrenders, he will be allowed to rule in our stead, and he will implement some of our mother's progressive social programs.
If he resists, we will slaughter him and his guards.
>>
>>20347711
Fair enough. Still making random tables is all well and good, but if you ask your players for suggestions please only incluide what they suggest in the table.
>>
Can we get more precise troop count?
(no need to count every soldier just enough to compare it with others)
also find a city you can stage an uprising with MC powers and then move your troops to LIBERATE it from the evil gouverment
>>
You send a strongly worded letter to the nobles of Dijalahad, on black paper, written in glowing red ink. It has the seal of the black tower. In your mother's day this was usually enough to get the people to do as she wanted.

They send your homunculi's head back in a basket. The messenger apologizes and you send him on his way with a small tip.

You make a note to feed the Sultan of Dijallahad to Hell-Mantids from the feet up.

You marshal your forces and marsh on the city. In your hands you wield an enormous iron axe that you made and enchanted yourself. It's pretty standard fair, nothing special about it, but it does the job.

You have one primary slot and one secondary slot.

What are your primary units and what are your secondary units?
>>
>>20347757
well I make the suggestion the subject of the table. Sure we could have giant mantis soldiers, but what if we make them special giant mantis soldiers? and if we have mind control spells, what kind of mind control spells will we have? thus the table. Think of it as researching something, sometimes you don't get the precise path you wanted but, most of the time you get the result you wanted.

anyways your MC powers basicaly turn people into zombies (voodoo, not flesheating), great for interrogation, not so much for uprisings.

blame the dice.

>>20347781

Okay you've built up a sort of Guerilla strike force and prepare to march on Dijalahad, thankfully a river running from your lake leads to each of the 3 cities you can take Dijallahad from the docks or you can march overland and go after her gates.

Which will it be?

I think Chrome soldiers will sink in the water, so go for the overland route.

About these mantis soldiers.
Do they have nuerotoxin? (shuts down nervous system) or hemotoxin(destroys blood)?
Because I'm thinking the ability to disable would come in handy.
>>
>>20347948
you have boats, 2/3rds of your forces are mantids, 1/3rd are chrom soldiers.

>>20347958
The docks have some guards posted, during the day, and a small patrolling force that keeps watch over the slums and the docks at night. The city walls are in a chambles and the gates to most of the inner and outer gatehouses have been torn right off their hinges and reduced to building materials for the locals.

and yes you can infiltrate under cover of darkness, the city doesn't have any unusually cavernous sewers though so you'lll have to storm the docks if you want to take the city via the docks.
>>
>>20348014
nuerotoxin, usually lethal but they can be trained to capture and not kill.
>>
>>20348019
I think we should storm the docks under cover of night.

Have the Mantis go in, secure a beach head, then bring in the Chrome Soldiers.

It will probably be easier than trying to take the city from the desert where we'll be easily seen from miles away, just by the dust plume kicked up by our marching soldiers.
>>
>>20348079
Agreed
>>
oh and either way you're spending one level of wealth to build boats for the dock invasion or wagons for the overland invasion (how else are you gonna carry food for the mantids? you really have quite a few of them. )
>>
>>20348079
Dust plumes still get kicked up at night. A sentry would just need to watch for stars "going out".

I say we attack from the westerly desert(or opposite direction of rising sun) with the sun reflecting off the chrome soldiers they'll have no idea what they're facing. Then at last second have the mantis soldiers "jump" over and wreck havok on their lines.

>>
>>20348126
[I dropped down a dice table, one of the results was "poison" these are mad-science/magic mantids they have fangs on their forelimbs. So they're bruce lee with a syringe full of cyanide]

You have boats built, if you're going to invade Dijallahad you'll need to take them by surprise. Day and night you build sturdy, simple, rowboats. When you have a hundred of the things you finally set out on your invasion.

The chrome golems row and the Mantids just sort of, crawl about everywhere. They'll do as they're told but they're still nothing more than enormous insects. Eventually night turns into day and you finally reach the docks of Dijallahad.

>roll3d20 for stealthy invasion.

>>20348176

An eight foot tall magical mantid still doesnt need injectable neurotoxin. It could tear a hole in plate armour with no effort. It could slice a horse in twain.

Thats great. Unfortunatly you only have 5 foot tall insect monstrosities
>>
You storm the docks in a recorcious tide of chittering death, some of the guards try to take the boats but they find themselves confronted by Chrome Golems, swords and crossbow bolts end the bid to take the boats.

The mantids meanwhile crawl over houses and smasg windows. They kill guards whilst they sleep, they kill guards whilst they eat, they kill guards whilst they rape whore in allies. Itr's an unstippable wave of poisonus graceful death.

You take the slums and docks with relative ease, there are no survivors on the enemy's side.

You order the mantids forward and they swarm over evey available surface. Soon enough you find yourself at the foot of the palace. The sun is the barest glimmer on the horizon and a guard spots you. He's about to call out but a mantis drops down on him from above.

The mantid's swarm into the palace, some of the guards are smart enough to throw down their weapons and curl into a ball. The rest find themselves being eaten alive by mantises.

You find yourself in the harem chambers after one of your mantids raises the portcullis gate. (You call him ahkmhed now, he's taken to wearing a turban)

Lord William Starcrossed is dead, his haram has literally torn him appart and decorated his chambers with the innards of their former lord, they've just started on the Lord's family and you can hear the screams 10 rooms away.

>You've taken Dijallahad! You haven't earned much in the way of material goods but you HAVE earned respect. If you want a good uprising to start the people need to respect you.
>>
You have some vulteers brought bqack to the black tower, normal humans, some of whom have relatives with the desert nomads.

Dijallahad pays taxes to you now, they really would like their walls repaired, and with respect, they suggest that if you did that bandits wouldn't be so bad and they could start mining resources, or building farm or something.
>>
>>20348557
Perhaps we should stop the killing, at least for any children that the former Lord had?

We'll then use our mind control on them, and we can judge them on if they were just unlucky in their birth, or if they actually abused their noble position.
>>
>>20348585
Nah let the people rage, then afterwards they'll realize their only chance of survival would be to totally submit to us.

>>20348578
Let's use some of our minions to rebuild the city walls. Some of our mantids can watch out for bandits in the meantime.
>>
>>20348578

Have them send messages to their relatives that banditry is going to become a very poor career choice in the near future.

As for Dijallahad, reinvest 75% of their taxes into creating Clay Golems that will help repair their walls.
Can we send some 5-mantid squads and a homonculus to control them, to help patrol the city and protect them from bandits until the walls are repaired and the City Watch is able to handle things on its own?

I'm leaning towards rage but if enough people object we'll assume you let the kids live.

You have the servants who have nomad relatives send messages to their relatives, they make it clear that banditry will not be tolerated under your rule. You even send along the black parchment and glowing ink. Too early to tell if it will work.

Okay sending out mantids and chrom golems to patrol for bandits is easy enough, but making clay golems to work will cost one level of rseources both treasury and magical.

Hmm...I think that the investment in clay golems is worth is, since once they're done rebuilding the walls, they can be put to work elsewhere.

homunculi, born of your skin, blood, and hair.

Yeah you got plenty, and you could use them to mine, or rebuild that wall.
>>
>>20349048
First the wall, then mine, alongside the villagers.
>>
rolled 1 = 1

You send the Homunculi out along with large patrols of mantids. The bandits, not being stupid decide to stay away from anything that even looks like it's involved with you. Thay're still ambushing caravans and other desert going groups though.

Regardless you manage to get the walls into decent condition again.
>treasury: Low
the villagers are quite grateful over their ability to man their walls with guards, on top of their monthly taxes (so far miniscule but to be fair the bandits are REALLY fucking up the traderoutes) The newly elected mayor sends his youngest daughter, she's around 14, a little flat chest but well defined. Her name is Jadhna, which apparently isa local desert flower.

Your scouts find a cave that has ore of a strange blue hue. Upon being treated properly it is discovered that this ore generates electrical energy when exposed to magical energy. You can create magical weapons that do lightning damage, you can create armor that absorbs magical energy, and you can find other esoteric uses for this ore.

But first you have to mine it.

You have one more action of this week.

Summon demon/devils. Can't be a proper evil overlord without access to the infernal legions
>>
>>20349277
These bandits are annoying me.

Start sending out false caravans that are actually full of Mantises, Chrome soldiers disguised as travelers, as well as occasionally having a few soldiers hidden among an otherwise normal travelling group or caravan. They won't even consider attacking them out of fear and then we can charge higher taxes and the people won't object in the slightest.

As for the electric ore the possibilities are endless. We could start a magi-technological revolution with this. Start industrializing magic.
>>
>>20349277
We shall have our metal men shoot electro-bolts from their crossbows!
>>
>>20349277
We have to deal with these bandits.
As the poster suggested, send out some false caravans, but I say go one step further, and imbed Chrome Soldiers within regular caravans as well, but insert them once te caravan has left the city. That way, if the bandits are getting their info from a snitch in the city they won't know what caravan is safe.

As for the girl, task two homonculi to help her, and set her to cleaning up the Tower. And pay special attention to our Mother's room.

See if she has enough magical talent to be our apprentice, duh.
>>

Okay chrome soldiers basically look like the terminator skjeletons, only more steam punk, and mantids are... well they're giant fucking mantises you can't hide these people. You could however hire some mercs to capture bandits. Mind control makes for real effective interrogation.

anyway figure out what precisely you want to do with the electric ore (feel free to name it) and I'll either throw down a dice chart or tell you haw much you've suceeded.

Actually, how about mercenary guards, and Chrome Soldiers lying down on the bottom of wagons with blankets over them?
Would that work?

If not, then just the mercs.
>>
We should start refining some of the desert sand into glass. With multi-layered focusing lenses we could greatly improve our scouting, as well as developing solar laser artillery pieces.
>>
>>20349402
surprisingly enough...yes. She could make a decent apprentice with some training.

Anyway you put her in charge of cleaning duties with the homunculi and have her very carefully gather up your mother's belongings along with all the other cleaning that she (or rather the homunculi) do.

Hrmm, you COULD, hide the chrom soldiers in heavy clothing, maybe vieled women...? Point is they'll have to be covered head to toe, but if you upgraded them enough as many as ten could make a huge different, as it is you would need to insert 30 into a caravan.

at most you could manage to hide 15.
>>
>>20349429
It's the desert, any traveler would be wearing a pile of clothing on them to keep the sun from scorching them so we might be able to disguise them, and we can also hide Chromes and Mantises in the wagons, wagons full of surprise deaths.

We can also hire mercs and any captured bandits are brought back to us for interrogation.

Our hidden forces in the caravan don't even need to always win the fight, but make it costly enough that going after trade here is simply not worth it.
>>
>>20349453
actually that would work great for the chrome soldiers. You could add an entire cart full of around 20 or so chrome soldiers, each sealed in a crate ready for the word.

10 could always be active in their head-to-toe disguise.
>>
>>20349429
For the electric ore, let's call it stormariun for now, let's see if we can craft it into a device that absorbs spells targeting the wearer, and then converts it into electricity that can be shot out in a chain lightning effect.
>>
>>20349480
Okay, let's go with that for our Chrome Soldiers, with some mercs thrown in for extra measure.

As for Jadhna, tell her that her apprenticeship as a sorceress under us begins once she finishes her cleaning duties.
>>
>>20349495
I think Stormarium is a good name
>>
>>20349526

Jadhna manages to recover a copper bracelet that your mother owned, its a simple thing, peasant jewelry really, just loops of copper chain. You've always liked it. After adorning your wrist with the jewelry you officialy begin Jadhna's training.

We should go with Illusion, it is a usefull skill and we could use the little desert flower as a diplomat for the human cities under our control.

also we should start using the clay golems to build some defenses around our mines, to protect them from some enterprising bandits.
>>
>>20349596
That would require you to research a whole new spell. Don't bother trying to start a popular uprising with charm spells though. It's nigh impossible. YOu could however research a charm spell that would last for 12 hours and be of some use for various situations.

Anyway Jadhna shows a great deal of talent for Evocation, with just a small sampling of the Dark Tower's energy field she's shown that she's quite powerful. Hurling lightning bolts took you years. however she doesn't show much natural talent for anything else and tires quickly.

Okay the nearest cities consist of Shamballabad, a city run by a corrupt sultaness who has an enormous harem of men and women, she worthe same god as the chosen one and smites anyone who questions her.

Her city is well fortified and defended by an order of militant clerics.

Then there's the city of Buraballabim. Interestingly enough it's sultan is quite reasonable and has sent you a message saying he'll submit to your rule IF you conquer Shamballabad and put the sultaness to the sword (she's had his son hostage for six months.)

Shamballabad doesn't have any rivers leading to it but its begun irrigation using water from YOUR LAKE. She didn't even ask permission.

Shamballabad does a pretty decent amount of river trading and has some effective fortifications and a well trained army.

>>
>>20349856
She's using our lake for her crops? Is she also using it for the rest of the city's water supply, drinking water and so on?

If so than why don't we just develop a magical poison thingy. Don't have it kill people, that'd be annoying as then we'd just have an empty city full of corpses, and ruling over that isn't useful. But have it take a few weeks for the effects to be noticeable and have it debilitate and weaken the city defenders to make it easier to take. It should be fixable either through an antidote or a good period of rest and healing, and since its magic we can remove it from the lake and crops after we take the city.
>>
>>20349856
Electrify the water with stormarium and end their water supply. That would sort them out quickly enough in the desert.

we need the water too so no. But sending something down river wouldn't be a bad idea
>>
>>20349899
what you're talking about doing would be massively complex and would just take resources that you don't have.

anyway all the other cities use your lake for water, Dijallahbad among them (and they've been pretty loyal so far.) there's no way to poison the lake (YOUR water supply by the way.) without poisoning everyone. She's justa bitch who's using what's yours without permission.
>>
>>20349899
The problem with that is that she has an entire order of clerics at her beck and call who can purify water.
>>
>>20349955

She's irrigating from our lake, does this mean that there are canals and the like leading into the city from our lake? It obviously has leads to the fields so should we choose we can fuck with her harvest.
>>
>>20349955

Shes likely to have guard patrolling the canals I say we send some Mantis in to capture them(did we train them to do this yet?). Then we can either interrogate them for information or bring them into the fold and start a revolution using them as infiltrators.

>>
>Treasury: High
>Magical Resources: Very high
>Manpower: Low

You set up a stormarium mine, chrome soldier, mantids, and homunculi with some humans workers to help out.

You're pulling in adecent load of stormarium ore, now you just need a use for it.

You can experiment with optics, with some effort you should be able to build a basic telescope for scouting, it'll weigh ten pounds and be two feet long but it should grant you some extra recon capability.

The mayor has no idea where the bandits are, under your mother the bandits raided outlanders, these days they do whatever they want, like move out of official zones of banditry.

it is week five, your sting efforts are paying off. Feeling safe the merchants start investing heavily in trade and you get a sweet cut of the profits.

What would you like to do?
>>
We should use our treasures to hire some regular soldiers from our city and train them to comand our mantis forces, have ahkmhed be some sort of special forces mantis. Sell our stormarium to local merchants to make more money. Have the homunculi work on improving our Clockwork soldiers.

>>20350167
Recruitment. Start looking to found a propa order of blackguards. Btw, is this a human only magical setting? If it is, can we genetically/magically engineer elves and dwarves and such?
>>
How far are irrigation canals from Shamballabad?
Could we close em and set a small fort at the lake shore?
>>
Using the stormarium to create some lightning weapons that the common man could use may even the odds if we get into open conflict with the Sultaness
>>
>>20350167
Start integrating it into elite groups of Chromes as anti-mage units. They absorb the magic and turn it into electricity to power specialized weapons and throw lightning bolts around.

We need some loyal humans that we can use as scouts, spies and the like to get a better idea of Shamballabad's defenses, weaknesses and so on so we can crush it.
>>
Manpower seems fine and dandy but we could really use a Spymaster of sorts but we don't have a lot of leads on that end.
>>
>>20350203
Yhere are plenty of elves and dwarves, according to your mothers old maps there are some abandoned dwarf fortresses in the desert, every now and again they take over an old one or start a new one. You don't know of any active dwarven fortresses.

if you want to installe stormarium parts you'll have to develop each component seperately (weapon, power source, antimagic device et.c etc.) so that's 3 research projects minimum. But it's possible.

the irrigation canals start at the lake shore (you got lucky on this one guys) so you could easily build a fortress and then damn them up.
>>
Summon up some water elementals. They try to irrigate their crops and then they get drowned by walking tidal waves.

>>
>>20350454
Water elementals may be able to cause some havoc to Shamballabad, but they're going to respond with force, and we need more manpower to fend off attacks, especially since we sent a lot of them to the mines.
>>
We dont have the manpower to take on Shamballabad yet so why don't we send the Water Elementals in as spies. Focus on finding dissenters and other forms of help within the city
>>

hpomunculi are magically animated from, dead skin (or small amounts of living skin) blood, and hair. They're not very smart, they have the vocabulary of a child and can follow simple commands. Excellent slave labor though.
