Greetings and good evening /tg/! Sorry if I'm a little slow this evening, although, next to my usual standards, I'm sure you won't notice; I'm splitting my time between this thread and typing something for the unstoppable juggernaut of win that is /tg/'s Knights Harem. What we have created, be it monster of masterpiece, I know not, but it's awesome none the less. That said, on with tonight's quest!

Previous thread is archived here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20686901/

Music for this evening is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHasR3ftpUM&feature=plcp

Kinda getting tired of my music? Feel free to suggest something after today's proceedings.

Welcome back, OP. Let's have some fun tonight.

I have carefully filed down my edges.

Let's rotate.

Love you guys too. Okay!

> No, there hasn't been a horrific plague that swept through and killed a whole bunch of elders and children. I just removed one of the 'child' categories on the population chart. This looks slightly more proportionate. Besides, now the elders and the children both have two categories and balance out.

I'm going to read all of the previous threads so I can get in on the next one.

You should really put your http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Red%20White%20and%20Britfag link up at the beginning. The previous thread tells me next to nothing by itself.

See you next time.

EVENT
The salmon run is in full swing! The river is teaming with fat and healthy fish.

EVENT
The strange seeds planted outside the village look like they're ready for harvest, or so it seems. A few seeds have already fallen from the tall, grass-like plants, to the ground and are being eaten by birds

Action Points: TWO

A) Send out scouts (specify direction)
B) Send some hunters out to hunt game and catch fish
C) Gather resources
D) Have your wise ones research something (specify)
E) Hold a cultural event
F) Craft specific objects
G) Other

D) healing
B) we need some food for winter

G) try to heal the last remaining wounded.
and we need food. question is: fish or grain/seeds? the salmon run will still be there next turn, if weaker. I say
C) gather seeds and maybe try to see what we can make of them.

>>20712291
Yikes, I was waiting for more people to respond... Especially considering we currently have a four-way deadlock with the votes. One for hunting, one for gathering the seeds, one for healing the wounded and another for researching better ways of healing... I won't roll unless there are three options or less, I am afraid. Where is everyone?
>>
where the heck is everyone today?

I really wish I knew... I can't run a quest thread with this few people; it's simply not possible!

I thought there was still demand for the thread, but I guess if there isn't... I'll leave this until twenty past the hour, then if no-one else shows... I guess that's it.

Harem knights a quest?
>>
>>20712795
WE HAVE A TIE-BREAKER! Anon, I love you forever and a day. And no, the Knights Harem is... Look for it here on /tg/ and in the sup/tg/ archive. It's... Calling it a setting is doing it a gross injustice. Just look. Anyway.

Your fishermen head out onto the river, bringing back heaps of fat, tasty fish to be smoked and cooked by the tribe, for the long winter.

Your wise ones try to consider new, better methods of healing, but beyond the basics they have, they are mostly at a loss. There are some potential ideas around, but they would take a good while to research.

I cannot bless you guys enough for your patience. Thank you from the bottom of the shrivelled, black thing in my chest.

Your Wise Ones manage to heal up two more of the wounded, but the other two have simply been left too long and their wounds have started to rot. Sadly, they die of infection.

The tribe gathers the seeds from the plants outside the walls. Almost at once, the husks around them are found to be quite unpalatable, but the seeds within the husks are good to ear, if a little bland. The harvest this small, but this represents a huge breakthrough for the tribe. These are the first crops you have planted, grown and harvested, in all of history.

Something strange occurs in the winter snows. Occasionally, seen glimpsed out in the snow while it falls, can be seen a woman, walking on the edge of the trees. But when she has passed, no footprints can be found.

>>20713201
Good idea, though maybe it would be easier to research if we had some prerequisite tech? Can't think of any, though.
>>
>>20713324

i cant think of any prereqs really either, hopefully we dont need any
>>
>>20713317
The elders seem content with the current position. The winter seems mostly mild, for now. They are content to just let it pass and worry about the world come spring. The reports of the woman are a little worrying, but next to Groza, they feel they have little to fear.
>>
>>20713324

ill agree with these votes
>>
F) We should build something to protect the seeds for the winter.
and I agree to ska's first suggestion
>>
The Wise Ones quickly hit upon a solution to the proposed problem, demonstrating how a log rolls when pushed. Applying this to the tribe's travois gave them a whole new creation: The cart! Although the wheels are still heavy and crude, made from a whole piece of wood from a tree trunk, they are a major advance for the tribe!

The tribe heads out to fell timber, but the cold weather means they bring back little usable wood. They collect plenty of splinters and numb toes however!

Hrunti's priest returns to the village one day looking worried and concerned. He claims that Hrunti feels he is not being shown enough respect by the tribe, given the praise they heap on Chani. He has begun to grow short-tempered and moody.

How will the tribe respond?
A) Throw a festival for Hrunti
B) Make offerings at Hrunti's shrine
C) Throw a festival to honour all the gods
D) Ignore him; he's just pouting

Every one needs an annul festival if only to attract tourist.
>>
>>20713724

do we wanna do a big hunt in the middle of winter though?
>>
>>20713747
What better time to really praise hunting skills? Also we don't really do a thorough for-food hunt, just a little one for shits and giggles and ceremony.
>>
>>20711760
Damn, I was waiting all day for this moment to come!
>>
>>20713758
We could send out a few of our best hunters to catch a special kind of animal. Perhaps to hunt a bear [I know they should be hibernating, but since the winter is mild, who knows?]
>>
>>20713864
Oh good, a challenge would be nice! Maybe have a friendly competition with Hrunti? He might enjoy that.
>>
>>20713924
I think a competition against nature is enough for Hrunti.
>>
The village decides that a festival honouring Hrunti is the best way to restore the god's good humour. But what will the festival consist of?

There's some interesting ideas floating around, but what will the tribe settle on?
>>
>>20713997

a yearly hunt with our best hunters
>>
>>20713997
A ceremonial hunt, consisting in only the best hunters [or hunter].
>>
>>20713997
Hunting for a bear sounds good. What if their was a competition who ever brings back the biggest bear wins honor or something like.
>>
>>20714049
That would be kind of pushing it, since the probability of finding a bear that doesn't hibernates is small. 1 bear for the annual winter ceremonial hunt is enough, imo.
>>
>>20713997
Same as the others say. Ceremonial hunt for maybe a challenging beast and honour to the best hunter.

Sorry, gotta leave early today. ...

For this turn I say maybe
C) Gather more wood
and
G) Improve walls with little walkways and maybe towers (maybe gate too?)
>>
>>20714063
You are right it would be too hard to find bear in the middle of winter. Best hunters try and find a bear for honor and Hrunti.
>>
> I take it 'The best' includes your number one everything-spanking hero, Trym Wolfsbane? I'm thinking yes.

The greatest hunters in the village band together, lead by the hero of the tribe, Trym Wolfsbane, all heading out to hunt down the biggest, meanest, ugliest beast in the forest, in honour of Hrunti, the White Wolf. For many long days, they search and track, finally discovering a bear's den, a large, brown bear sleeping inside.

How will the hunters proceed?
A) Sneak up and stab at the bear while it sleeps
B) Lure the bear out, then jump it
C) Lure the bear out, into a trap
D) Call upon Hrunti to grant them the strength to slay the bear
E) Man fuck this, you see the size of that thing? We're going home!
>>
>>20714138
Sneaking would be disshonobru. I say B, they lure the bear out and have a fair fight against it
>>
>>20714138
D. He may be slightly angry with us due to lack of worship, but surely he has to be pleased by our attempt to bring down this mighty beast in his name.
>>
>>20714138
D) then after the prayer A)
>>
>>20714138

D)
>>
>>20714168 here, I change my mind. D) followed by B), because what more glorious way could be to hunt such a beast than with Hrunti's blessing?
>>
If our best cannot take down a bear without relying on sneaky tactics, then we are going to be hard pressed against soldiers.

B and D. Might as well have our god of hunting watch us hunt for him.
>>
>>20714202
I know B) would be a lot more honorable but I also don't want to loose our best hunters in a ceremonial hunt.
>>
>>20714232
He could stay back and just perform the coup de gras
>>
>>20714257
Trym, I mean
>>
>>20714257
That wouldn't be very Trym Wolfsbane-ish, now would it?

Killed the white wolf, is at the forefront of all negotiations, the front lines of our battle. Naw man, Trym is all carpe diem.
>>
Yes but that still doesn't mean we won't loose good unnamed npcs.
>>
>>20714290
I see your point especially since we just lost a bunch from battle, but Hrunti probably wouldn't be please with killing fish in a barrel no matter how gigantic said fish in said barrel were.
>>
>>20714290
You may be right, but killing a bear in its sleep is not what Hrunti would want. At least go for B and trap the bear, but don't go sneaky-sissy on its ass.
>>
>>20714138
So I guess we pray (D) then go balls out with a (B).
>>
Though they have no offering to give the god, the hunters pray for Hrunti to make them strong for the fight, before standing at the cave entrance and raising a great clamour to force the beast into the open, building a fire, in order to smoke it out.

They don't have to wait long. Before they know it, the bear emerges, roaring its fury at having been awoken into the cold, winter air. The hunters instantly rush in from all sides, jabbing at the bear with spears, some even dropping behind it to prevent it from escaping. The fight is vicious and brutal, the bear snapping spears, breaking bones and slashing open chests with great swings of its huge paws. Towards the end of the fight, the enraged, wounded beast seized a wounded hunter in a deadly bear hug, cracking his bones and killing him almost at once. Finally though, the beast lies dead. It is dragged and carried to Hrunti's shrine, where the god receives the offering gladly, promising to bless all the tribe's hunts in the coming year.

Result: Hrunti is appeased, but three hunters were wounded, with another killed.
>>
>>20714480
Small price for such a blessing, I say
>>
>>20714480
I think that was worth it even though we are in the middle of winter and hunting won't last very long. But having 3 wounded tells me we need to up our medicine.
>>
>>20714480
I wish I had been here earlier to propose this, but now that we've appeased one spirit, we still haven't built that temple Groza asked up to build for him.

And since we make donations to the other two, lets put some of our enemies weapons in there and armor if there is any left after the fire.

>>
>>20714563
I have a proposal for said temple. We build it in the remnants of where our gate used to be. It is the site of our first real battle of the war, and should be a good place for a war god to take up residence. Besides that if we make the entrance to our town a building any invaders will have to go through where all our warriors train in order to enter the city, which should be fairly difficult.
>>
>>20714674
Agreed, but adding on my idea for where is should be.
>>
>>20714690
Sounds good enough to me. Hell, we're building our very own Campus Martius. We'll probably have to look into another entrance eventually though, but I might just be over thinking that.
>>
>>20714690
sounds good as long as the entrance to the temple is facing away from the village.
>>
>>20714783
I'd imagine there would be a front and back entrance since the temple itself would act as a gate/mini castle as far as entering our city and they should work out moderately well for now since we and our enemies lack siege engines and going through the wall would take ridiculously long.
>>
Brit fag should we design this temple or are we just gonna say theirs a temple for Groza and be done with it.
>>
The wise ones manage to heal the broken arm that one of the hunters suffered, but the winter months are harsh on the other two, sapping their strength. They both died peacefully enough, at least.

Work begins on the construction of Groza's shrine, near the site of the tribe's first real battle. The tribe's advances in carpentry mean it is able to be a slightly grander affair than Chani or Hrunti's shrines. Just as the god of battle wanted, it also has a wide area nearby, clear of obstruction, where the strongest of the tribe may pit themselves against each other in combat. The shrine is not yet finished however and looks like it needs a little more work.

Well according to 4chan, this thread was briefly 404'd. Not sure what that's about. Anywho, I think this'll do for tonight.

The shrine to Groza is at last completed, standing proudly in the ground where the tribe won its first victory. The god of battle will surely be pleased!

The Wise Ones delve more into researching new methods of treating the wounded and sick. Although they as yet make no breakthroughs scientifically, Rina cheerfully reports one day that by praying to Chani and channelling a portion of her power, she is able to cleanse and cure some minor injuries and diseases!
