Your day starts when Lasciel, whose form tightly clings to you, stirs. You've been awake for some time, but didn't feel the need to disturb her after last night. You had a fight about the circlet and things got a bit ugly. You called her an unholy bitch, voices were raised, objects were thrown, and she questioned whether saving your life really was worth what she sacrificed. That last barb hit home. She apologised, and so did you, you both knew when the argument had gone too far. You spent the rest of the night making up, very thankful that your thick door and the privacy it offers.

In hindsight, maybe it wasn't such a bad night after all. It reminded you that Lasciel can be petty and demanding, but she does care about you in a very true sense. Looking down at her in your arms, you wonder if the same isn't true of yourself. You give her an experimental nip in the ear, and she shivers. "Time to get up, we'll be at Newport in a few hours."

You follow your usual morning routine, a quick wash before putting on your pants and checking the mirror for any spontaneous beard growth. As expected for one of your gender, your beard is exactly as absent as it was yesterday, but you give yourself a nick on the chin with the razor anyway. Then you take a seat as your demonic bed warmer binds your chest, it's tedious and a bit uncomfortable, but it's that or sink back into obscurity.
>>
It could be a lot worse, of course, you could have been born with Lasciel's generous assets and then this would be nothing short of painful. Those assets press against your back as she winds the cloth around you. "Kie's not coping so well running both engineering and the guns. This is compounded with the fact that we've got catgirls in charge of keeping the ship afloat and moving, and you know how they are. I'm surprised she hasn't complained to you herself, actually." She ties off the fabric and gives you a kiss on the neck.

"Don't forget your ripcord," she reminds you as you turn to leave, just as she has every day for the last two years. You'll probably never live that one down. But it was your fault, after all, so you don't stop her from bringing it up. You check your wrist, but it's still tied there. A simple knot that comes undone when you pull on the end. Not like you can fuck it up, you smile.

"Right, one last thing," she says as you have your hand on the door, "Safiya seriously needs to get out of the ship. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but she's spent the last three months on board, hasn't taken any shore leave, it's not good for her health. If you do go recruiting, be sure to take her with you, hit a pub, see if you can set her up with someone."

You open the heavy door and the 15 catgirls trying to listen at the door fall in front of you with a muffled thump. You can't help but laugh.

Where are you going to head first?

You are Redbeard the Cleanshaven, the 6th most feared Pirate in all the skies.
You give orders to your crew by yelling at them.
Roll a dice, if you get 4 or above, it's a success.
Different monstergirls roll different dice, ranging from the dragon's mighty d20 to a catgirl's pitiful d4.
Most girls will have specialities, and roll better dice when they stick to what they know.
Rolling a 1 is bad. 'girls may get injured, killed, desert from your crew, or simply be distracted by a ball of yarn if they roll a 1.

Any named girl rolls 2 dice, and is generally a lot more resistant to injury or desertion.
Anyone not specifically mentioned is assumed to be a catgirl. They're more or less useless, so you probably don't want to rely on them.
>>
Wooo~
>>
>>20779182
Right then we've got stuff to do.

What's the ETA to Newport, I'd rather ransom off the Yacht and her crew as soon as possible. Also is Newport a good place to recruit people or are there any nearby cities which are better for finding hives of scum and villainy?
>>
You step over the giggling pile of catgirls and head up towards the bridge. When you arrive you find the bridge occupied by Safiya and a half dozen catgirls. You can see from the charts that that you are about 3 hours away from Newport.

Newport is a small but densely packed port town. It was built as an outpost and colony hub during the expansion of Baald's empire. However the thick vegetation and uneven terrain surrounding the location proved far too difficult to clear, so it quickly fell into disuse. Newport was later reclaimed and fortified by the empire during the mage wars, but after Baald was killed the armies withdrew, leaving Newport to fend for itself. It is currently run as a small city-state, and it's location near a few long distance trade routes has ensured it's survival. It's not a bad holiday destination, very tropical and it is home to a fair few pirates, to whom the officials turn a deliberate blind eye.

"Captain, you're here early," Your helmsman says, "did you ssskip breakfassst again?"
>>
>>20779471
"I can always eat later.

How does the route look? There any turbulence or other things that'll delay us expected?

Saf dear, when was the last time you got off the ship? More importantly when did you last get laid?

Don't bother answering, you've been cooped up here piloting so you're coming with when I go to shore, Captain's orders so don't you dare try to wriggle out of this."
>>
>>20779189
I dunno, catgirls did pretty good swarming that one ship in the first thread
>>
"I can always eat later," you reply. You have, after all, gone for far longer then a single morning without food before. "How does the route look? There any turbulence or other things that'll delay us expected?
"No, it looksss like clear skies today. We won't be able to catch any wind to speed up, but we won't lose time either."

"Saf dear, when was the last time you got off the ship? More importantly when did you last get laid?" You open your mouth to continue but she interrupts.
"C-Captain! That's a bit of a personal question! A-And besides, I like it here on the ship."
>>
>>20779634
and the ship wont fuck you, no matter how much you pray to that little shrine you have disguised behind the boilers. You are on mandatory shore leave, unless the ship's engines explode.
>>
>>20779634
"I'm sorry Saf but I can't hear you over the sound of being your Captain. The health and wellbeing of my crew is of my utmost priority, so you're coming with me to shore.

Don't make me use my captain voice and start pointing to my captain's hat to make my point dear. It's best if you just come along quietly, I'm sure our beloved ship will manage without you for a bit."
>>
"I'm sorry Saf but I can't hear you over the sound of being your Captain. The health and well being of my crew is of my utmost priority, so you're coming with me to shore."
"With you? O-on a date? I'd love to!" Safia grabs a catgirl with her tail and deposits it at the helm.

"I'll go prepare at once," she says as she slithers off down the hall towards her quarters.
>>
>>20779788
Well on the bright side we're getting her off the ship, on the down side she thinks it's a date. We'll deal with that later.

Talk to Kie, ask what races she would suggest picking up to take over engineering so she can focus on gunnery.
>>
>>20779788
We may need to explain to Saf that we don't like her that way, preferably before she gets her hopes up and we break her heart.
>>
Oh, hey, don't we need to get in touch with the local government to ransom their healer?
And isn't the city of Newport under fucking quarantine, what with them having a plague outbreak, which is why they needed the angel healer?
>>
You head down to the lower decks in search of Kie. The heavy wooden floors give way to metal plates and the oak beams above your head are replaced with cables and pipes that carry energy and fuel around the working parts of the ship. Eventually you reach the main door to the engine room and heft it open. The engine room is large, but full of machinery. Spider silk threads run across the roof, tying various cables, tools and catgirls out of the way. Kie's voice calls out from behind a large humming machine, "Hey you by the door, grab a Second Type D from the pile to your left and bring it over here."

You look at the toolbox sitting beside the door. You don't recognise any of them and none of them are labelled.
>>
>>20780151
"Kie, I have no idea what you just said. Can you describe it for me?"
>>
>>20780151
"Kie, I have no idea which one that is. Describe it please.

But this segues nicely into what I came here to talk about, I noticed you were pulling double duties with engineering and gunnery and was planning on getting you some help. I'd like your input on this decision."
>>
>>20780142
Yeah, we should probably stop off by the Angel's room and let her know we'll be ransoming her off soon, so she'll be able get back to her good work very quickly Maybe even ahead of schedule, if everything goes well.
>>
>>20780254
Not a bad point.

"Kie, I have no idea what you just said. Can you describe it for me?"
"Oh, Redbeard, I didn't realise it was you." Her tone instantly softens from the harsh commanding tone that she had used before. "I thought it was the catgirl I sent to get coffee. It's the L shaped one with the purple stripe."
Find the tool amongst the pile and pick it up.

"This segues nicely into what I came here to talk about, I noticed you were pulling double duties with engineering and gunnery and was planning on getting you some help. I'd like your input on this decision."
"Fucking finally! We NEED someone to replace these catgirls, I'm sick of correcting their mistakes, splicing clawed wires and cleaning fur out of the turbines."

You lean over the softly vibrating machine and find Kie, with her head and shoulders buried inside a mass of cables spilling out of an open hatch. Her spiderlegs are shifting restlessly.
>>
>>20780392
"Well then, do you have any suggestions for the sort of crew I should be looking for?"
>>
>>20780392
"Yes, well, what sort of 'girl would you prefer to assist in here? Possibly take over, if she's good enough."
>>
Can we get a gunnery Harpy? Oh tell me we can get a gunnery Harpy.
>>
>>20780572
I'm not sure how good a harpy would work on cannon. Not having arms could be a problem.
>>
"Well then, do you have any suggestions for the sort of crew I should be looking for, what sort of 'girl would you prefer to assist in here? Possibly take over, if she's good enough."
"Anyone but catgirls."

She pulls her head out of the machinery. "To be honest, skill and experience on a similar ship is more important then any natural talent. We've such a mix of stuff here, the power coupler is from a yacht, the generator is ex-military and the soul catcher is from a bloody fort!" She indicates each in turn with a leg, "Any competent crew could manage with a decent leader, but I'm stuck with catgirls after Fik!ile left."

There's a bit of a sad story behind that one, your last chief engineer was an ant queen who lived in between the thaumic reactor and fuel line 4. She had a whole host of drones do the manual labour, and even had one on the bridge to communicate with you. It was rather confusing when they would speak with her voice, but they never seemed any worse off for it.

>continued
>>
>>20780644
Fik!ile left on somewhat bitter terms after Lasciel took the head off a drone who had tunnelled it's way up through your floor as you slept. The poor girl probably never even realised her mistake before the demon's claws had severed it's neck. Which, as Lasciel had explained, was the point. If she saw you then half of your crew would have known about what she saw instantly.

While you agree with Lasciel and stood by her when the queen objected, it caused her to leave on bad terms. And so you find yourself here a month later with no skilled crew.

>>20780572
If you want. Feel free to suggest some crew members you'd like to see.
>>
>>20780655
>Feel free to suggest some crew members you'd like to see.
I'd like to see Dragongirls just sort of in general, but for the sort of work we're looking to replace the catgirls under Kie specifically...
"Maybe some mousegirls, then? I'd imagine on the whole they'd be dexterous, clever, and good at getting into tight spaces."
>>
>>20780644
"Yacht, military, fort. Got it. I'll see who I can find."

So, what's a soul catcher do? More specifically than catch souls.

Let's see if we can find Saf, and disabuse her of her date concept. Say Lasciel wouldn't be able to stand it, or something.

>>20780655
What about a... cursed Gremlin, that can't break shit, only makes it better.
>>
>Re: monstergirl types.
>At the bottom are the animal-girls, catgirls, mouse girls, etc. They're all functionally equivalent, rolling d4's and generally being adorable. Catgirls are the most common because they have Litters.
>Next up are the were-animal girls, these ones are 'standard' in terms of rarity and power, and come in all sorts of types. Your lizardwoman and werebats are examples of these.
>Then we have centaur types, like Safiya and Kie.
>Finally there are the rarest type of 'girls, the ones based off myth and legend. These include dragons, demons, angels and other similarly rare and powerful creatures.

"Yacht, military, fort. Got it. I'll see who I can find. Maybe some mousegirls, then? I'd imagine on the whole they'd be dexterous, clever, and good at getting into tight spaces."
"If you can find some in Newport, sure. Unless you want anything else from me, captain, I really should get back to fixing this."

>continue talking?
>Where to?
>>
>>20780923
"You want to come into town with the rest of us? I'll probably be setting up shore leave in shifts for most of the crew but if you want to help out with finding crew I'd love to have you.

If you're not planning on leaving is there anything you'd like us to pick up for you? Any special trinkets, items, souvenirs, tools, that sort of thing."

>>20780778
Dragongirls would be good as more shocktroopers, prolly, yeah. Or whatever else they're skilled in. Probably pretty damn rare, though.

>>20780655
I, uh, I'd also like to see a competent Catgirl. Maybe of a Big Cat variety, as I've been viewing the run-of-the-mill catgirl as housecat based.

So, serious tigergirl is serious, an' shit. Weretiger, maybe.

>>20780923
"Good luck."

Let's see if Reilin wants to come along to scout any potential additional marines.
>>
>>20780923
>Where to?
Communications Room or the Bridge, wherever we would go to communicate with the government of Newport in order to negotiate the ransom of their healer.

And come on guys, shoreleave in a city we were just told has a plague outbreak?
>>
>>20781000
True, how about floating our ship over the most afflicted areas drinking expensive wine and laughing? Also there ought to be unplagued areas that we can carouse in.
>>
>>20780923
Head on over to the Angel's room when we're done here. Give her the jewel we salvaged from her circlet.
>>
"I," she says pointedly, "Will be staying here and getting pissed. At least until you get someone else to take over. This won't be fixed today. As for gifts, and I do deserve one, for putting up with this, I'll take anything that's both delicious and at least 30% alcohol."
"Good luck."

You head towards the brig, making sure the small blue gem is still in your possesion. When you arrive you find Reilin standing guard outside with another lizardwoman, both looking bored. From inside the ajar door you can hear the tell tale giggling of catgirls at work.
>>
>>20781176
"How's she been today? Just gonna go have a little chat, let her know she'll be leaving our tender care soon, and what not."
>>
>>20781176
Peek in and see what they're up to.
>>
>>20781176
"Hey Rei, good to see you. I'm here to check up on the prisoner, also I'm planning on shopping around for new hires soon, I figured you'd want input on the boarding and security staff."
>>
>>20781176
Ask Reilin how the prisoner has been, and that we should be ransoming her off pretty soon.
>>
"Hey Rei, good to see you. I'm here to check up on the prisoner, how's she been today? Just gonna go have a little chat, let her know she'll be leaving our tender care soon, and what not."
"Red, you can't get rid of her soon enough. She's got the catgirls doting on her every whim, a three course meal went past me this morning. They usually manage to set fire to pasta, and I'm pretty sure we didn't have a suckling pig on board yesterday. It's just absurd."

You peek around the door and into the cells. There are catgirls at work cleaning every surface, scrubbing furiously and looking immensely happy with themselves. This annoys you, as you make a point of keeping your brig clean at all times. Tal'Rea herself is sitting at a set table, complete with tablecloth, wine glasses and candles, talking quietly to some of them. Usually each cell has only a simple cot and a handbasin.

You turn back to Reilin, "I'm planning on shopping around for new hires soon, I figured you'd want input on the boarding and security staff."
"I would. We can set up in a tavern like usual, they usually like the extra business. I'll spread word around the docks that we're hiring and join you afterwards. I might know a few people who are looking for work."
>>
>>20781411
"Thanks Rei, I'm going to go chat to our holier-than-thou guest."

Wander into the cell, take a seat at the table, get a glass, pour ourself some wine.

"You know, I'm not even mad that you did this, I'm just impressed. You actually got the most useless lumps of fur I've ever seen to make good food. I once saw them set a kitchen on fire while making cereal, cold cereal."
>>
>>20781411
"Good, good."

Enter brig, shoo catgirls out, bar the door behind them. Toss Tal'rea the gem, if she asks what it is, say, "Perhaps I'm a bit sentimental after all."
Either way: "We're due in to Newport shortly, so you'll be free of our tender ministrations soon enough, and back to helping people again."

Look about warily, as though the walls have ears, and lean close to her, "I do have one question, though: How in the nine hells did you get them to do all this?"
>>
>>20781528
>How in the nine hells did you get them to do all this?
I'd say it should be more "How in the Nine Hells did you get them to do this without burning the brig down?"

Maybe her value is more than just as a healer, but as someone who can make catgirls competent?
>>
>>20781554
Maybe they roll d6s under her command.
>>
>>20781554
I'll accept the alteration.

An interesting theory.
>>
"Thanks Rei, I'm going to go chat to our holier-than-thou guest."

You enter the brig and order the catgirls out. A few glance at the angel, who nods her head a fraction, and they all file out, looking downtrodden. Reilin shuts the door behind them.

"You know, I'm not even mad that you did this," you say as you take the seat across from her and pour yourself some wine, "I'm just impressed. How in the Nine Hells did you get them to do this without burning the brig down?"
She smiles softly. "Well, actually, there was a slight accident involving a tail and a pot of boiling oil, but I talked to them and they assure me that they've cleaned up the spill and it won't stain."

You pull the sapphire from your pocket and make to throw it at her, but you feel almost compelled to be calm and civil, so you just grip it tightly.

"We're due in to Newport shortly, so you'll be free of our tender ministrations soon enough, and back to helping people again."
"You've talked to Newport already? How much are you making them pay for what they should freely have?"
>>
>>20781692
"Haven't opened up negotiations yet. Was planning on doing that in a bit.

As for the payment, that really depends on how much they have. I'll take what I can get, which given the situation ought to be a pretty good chunk of cash, people rarely fuss over gold and gems when there's a plague around.

By the by do you happen to know the standard pricing for Angels?"

The second line should be casual and accompanied by sipping the wine and the last one rather joking.
>>
>>20781692
"Haven't talked to them yet, but what the hell are you talking about? I'm not selling anything that should be free."
>>
>>20781692
"Enough that this has been worth my time, but not so much that they'll be in any real difficulty."

Hand her the gem, with the prior suggested line about being sentimental.

>>20781758
>>20781766
I'm not sure we should let on that we haven't talked to Newport yet.

>>20781766
She was already on her way to Newport when we raided the ship she was on.
>>
>>20781776
I realize. The implication is that her services should be payed for just like any other service in high demand.
>>
>>20781776
I agree we shouldn't let on that we haven't opened negotiations yet.
She might offer something to bring down the price if she thinks that Newport is already struggling to come up with her ransom.
>>
>>20781779
Ah, I misunderstood your post, then. You're saying she should be demanding payment for her healing services?
>>
>>20781810
'Cause if that is what you're getting at, it's probably just gonna end up in another argument with her.
>>
Why is this a quest and not an actual game? Why is it being posted late American and middle of the night-Morning European?
>>
>>20781920
Because the guy running it is in Australia.
>>
>>20781980
Well he should move then.
>>
>>20781980
That's an awful excuse
>>
>It would make a neat wargame, which was the origional plan, but people seemed to want more talky stuff, and I'm still trying to recover from the derails thrown around in thread 1.

"Haven't opened up negotiations yet, but I'll take what I can get, which given the situation ought to be a pretty good chunk of cash. By the by do you happen to know the standard pricing for Angels?"
"I don't believe a... man has ever ransomed one before," she says with the slightest of pauses, "few seek to sell dirt to dryads."
What the hell are you talking about? I'm not selling anything that should be free. "
"Do you not understand compassion? How to give to those in need?"
You used to be a person in need, starving on the streets. No angel ever gave you food. Well... no true angel, at least.

"Perhaps I'm a bit sentimental after all," you hold out your hand and place the gem in hers.
She gasps audibly. "You saved it! How did you know!?"

>continued

>>20782009
Tal'Rea takes the sapphire and holds it to her chest. "It is said that when an angel cries her tears turn into gemstones before they hit the ground. This isn't true, of course, but we do tend to see more in precious stones then others do. This one holds great meaning to me. When I was just a child my father was never around. He was a field doctor in the mage wars. A great man, or so I was told. This sapphire is from the day I learned he had died. He was in a hospital camp, working in the surgery. The camp was shelled, everyone died. This small speck of colour reminds me that some people are pure. It is those people I work my life for."

"Our meeting here was not for nothing. This is a sign, I believe, but I don't know whether it is meant for you or for I."
>>
>>20781980
>Implying anyone would actually live in Australia
>>
>>20782026
>If you can get past the spiders, snakes, wasps, jellyfish, spiders, sheep, poisonous plants, spiders, kangaroos, drop bears and, of course, all the spiders, then it's actually quite a nice place to live.

>>20782009
"I've been in need, and the only way I got out of it was by taking what I needed. It's unfortunate what happened to your father. I'm glad you can take comfort from the gem. Now, if you will excuse me," lightly mocking, "I have a reputation to work on."

Also: SHE KNOWS
>>
>>20782010
"I wish that your tears turned into gemstones, I could make a fortune telling you about 3 legged puppies that keep on trying to climb a hill and fall down every time. I hope you like the gem,

Signs and prophecy, that's exactly what I wanted in my life. I've spent most of my life trying not to follow the "path" someone like me was supposed to take, so you'll excuse me if I ignore this sign as well.

Look Tal, the world fucking sucks and unless you're born in the right place to the right people you have to claw your way up to find any of the beauty you talk about. Welcome to the real world, where the rest of us who aren't born with a gaggle of people tripping over themselves to worship live. We have to rely on money. I hope you like the gem, ciao."
>>
>>20782026
Oi. Just because you soft blokes can't deal with a bit of sun and some animals that bite back doesn't make this a bad place to live.
At least it's not bloody England. All rain all the time.
>>
"Well, I could afford a little kindness this time. Don't make me regret it."
>>
>>20782010
"I've learned the hard way that this world does not reward those that only hope for a helping hand, but those that actually go out and take what they need. No one ever gave to me while I was in need; maybe if they had, my mother would still be alive.
"Now, good day, madam, as I have a ransom to negotiate."
>>
"Signs and prophecy, that's exactly what I wanted in my life. I've spent most of my life trying not to follow the "path" someone like me was supposed to take, so you'll excuse me if I ignore this sign as well."
"Yes, you have much torment in your heart, I see that. Your choices have hurt yourself and others close to you."

"Look," you snap, biting back memories, "Tal'Rea, the world fucking sucks and unless you're born in the right place to the right people you have to claw your way up to find any of the beauty you talk about. Welcome to the real world, where the rest of us who aren't born with a gaggle of people tripping over themselves to worship them live. I've been in need, and the only way I got out of it was by taking what I needed. It's unfortunate what happened to your father. I'm glad you can take comfort from the gem."

"Now, if you will excuse me," you say, lightening your tone, "I have a reputation to work on."

You exit the brig and lean back on the shut door. Reilin raises an eyebrow. "So... it went well?"
>>
>>20782106
No offense, but if I had to pick between rain and spiders the size of softballs, I'll gladly pick rain every damn time.
>>
>>20782187
"About as well as can be expected, I suppose. She's good at getting in under my skin somehow."
>>
>>20782187
"Passable. Now I need to go negotiate that ransom."
How much are we supposed to ask for? I assume we've already got a rough amount in mind.
>>
>>20782195
This is good.
>>
Assuming everything they can get ahold of in a day is our limit, I'd suggest 10-15% of that. It's all profit, and we don't bankrupt them so we can come back.
>>
>>20782208
This. We can also threaten to tell their citizenry what they refused to pay if they don't.
>>
>>20782187
"More or less. I managed to get my shots in, it's impossible to argue with someone that fucking self-righteous."

Onto the ransom negotiations. We should not make an offer, let them start, get an idea of how much they have, what they're able to part with, that sort of thing. We have the upper hand in these negotiations so we can make them pay out the nose.
>>

I suppose we shouldn't call it a 'ransom', so much as a 'transportation fee'.
Sure, no matter how you say it, it's a ransom, but appearance is what matters, after all.
>>
>>20782217
I Like this. Creative word usage is always good.
>>
>>20782214
>so we can make them pay out the nose.
Yes, but we shouldn't ask for too much, either.
This is apparently one of the ports we regularly come to for getting new crew, shore leave, and fencing goods. We don't want to become too unwelcome here, especially since this place is also frequented by other pirates, and THEY might be annoyed that we're holding up the healing if their crews are infected.

Not to mention, apparently doing this to an angel is apparently low, even for a pirate. We have our reputation among pirates to think about, too.

>Not to mention, apparently doing this to an angel is apparently low, even for a pirate

Pffft, says the angel.
>>
>Ransoming
>A lowly crew-cat might go for 10 gold sky-doubloons, and an admiral of a navy as much as 100,000
>Most skilled crewmembers are ransomed for about 700 gold.
>You'll have to talk to your dragon about the exact state of your finances, but each chest you stole from the Jewel of Celeste should give you a few thousand. That will be shared out amongst your crew when it's been counted and you've fenced all the trinkets as well.
>You were pretty poor before the last plundering.

"About as well as can be expected, I suppose. She's good at getting in under my skin somehow."
"She is, isn't she? I think that's part of why she's so good with the catgirls."
"Now I need to go negotiate that ransom."

You head up to the bridge and find Illandra already waiting, stretched out over your chair and blowing smoke rings at the ceiling. "We're in range to send to Newport, but I figured you'd want the honours.

Soon enough the Governor’s face fills the main screen. "Redbeard, to what do I owe the dubious pleasure of your company."

"Why I'm here with good news of course! I've brought you your most precious cargo, the cure for all that ails you and your citizenry. Literally.

There's just the small matter of my...transportation fee. It's not cheap keeping such a delicate lady as an Angel in good health and company!"
>>
>>20782342
I'd say this pretty well covers it.
>>
>>20782314
"Hey there Governor.

I'm sure you've heard of the unfortunate occurrence involving a certain "Jewel of Celeste". Fortunately me and my heroic crew, us fine dashing buccaneers of the sky managed to rescue the most precious cargo of them all from some poorly defined antagonists.

It's pretty, has wings, a halo and heals things. You get three guesses as to what or who it is, and the first two don't count.

Sadly my dear Governor I'm going to be forced to charge a transportation fee, I'm sure you understand."
>>
>>20782314
"I seem to have picked up an annoying bint of an angel. She keeps going on about 'goodness' and 'honesty' and all that baloney.
Obviously, I want to get rid of her as soon as possible, but it seems she's a bit down on her luck finance-wise and can't afford to pay her travel fare.
Don't suppose you'd be kind enough to cover that for her? I'm sure she'd be mighty grateful to get out of her horribly comfortable bedroom with round-the-clock catgirl maids and five-star dining.
Wait, actually, maybe she'd like to stay on for a bit. See the sights, go visit some other towns, that sort of thing."

It's not cheap keeping such a delicate lady as an Angel in good health and company!"
"I see. I don't suppose that's going to be particularly cheap, will it?"

>Roll 2d8 for negotiating
>>
rolled 7, 1 = 8

"Nope!"
>>
rolled 5, 4 = 9

finally I can contribute as a lurker
>>
rolled 2, 3 = 5

"My friend, nothing truly worth it is ever cheap. Given that we're friends, we're friends aren't we, and that I happen to like Newport as a port of call I'll give you the friend's rate."

The friend's rate will still be expensive as fuck.
>>
rolled 2, 5 = 7

>that tone
Dammit, someone help me post a Kotomine.jpg?
>>
"My friend, nothing truly worth it is ever cheap. Given that we're friends, we're friends aren't we, and that I happen to like Newport as a port of call I'll give you the friend's rate."

After a short amount of discussions and back and forth you agree on a 'fair' price.

"Alright, 2350 gold sovereigns, and free berthing for the next two seasons. You leave me little choice."
The screen winks out.

"That's a tidy sum we've acquired, all up," Illandra muses, "With our current crew we should be able to get supplies to last another month or two. Of course if we hire more then we'll need another raid. Hopefully one with less..." She looks towards the rest of the ship, "loose ends."

You gain
>2350 gp in potentia
>a home port
>the ire of a governor
You lost
>one angel, hopefully
>a small amount of respect
>4 catgirls

>End of thread.
>We didn't get as far as I would have liked, sorry about that.
>Feedback? Too talky? Not enough catgirls? More boarding action?
>Next thread would probably be hiring and beachside shenanigans.
>>
>>20782501
It was fun, we made money, we had good talks. I like talks, not everything can be action.
>>
I liked it, and I'd enjoy playing again.
>>
>>20782501
Truly it needed more fightan and swashin and bucklin, but you can't put that in every thread or it gets stale.
Look forward to next time.
>>
>Would a different day of the week help? I could run tomorrow, if people would turn up.
>>
>>20782636
I'd be there tomorrow. Maybe not at the very beginning but the rest of it yes.
>>
Damnit, I go away for... a while... and you up and end the thread on me? What the hell, man?

>>20782636
I can just say that Thursday (US) nights aren't good for me. Assuming I can bother to walk to the bus to go to my friend's for D&D. Well, Pathfinder, or whatever the fuck is being played.
