Your heart pounds as Kaliel murmurs something to you, far to the north.
<I... I killed it.> Kaliel murmured, in the back of your mind. <The spiders attacked, and- and- I had to. But the toxin...>
Your perception of her blurred, and what you finally get before it vanishes completely was one word.
<H-help.>
And then your sense of her was gone. You had to do something. Marigold, Kell, and your father were out in the courtyard with you.
>Wat do?
>>
Rolled 59

Try to draw the poison out of her, so it's just a ball of poison hovering a few feet away.
>>
>>20878925
>Wat do?
Call Dras'lea.
<Could you be so kind and bring Kaliel to my current location, please?>
If that doesn't work, call Gehenna and Aeriel.
<Can you teleport Marigold and Me to Kaliel? She's somewhere under Carved Fortress, atm>
If that's another negative, try to channel Marigold's talent through the ring. If that doesn't work as well, try to heal her through it once more.
>>
You key your ring again.
<Could you be so kind and bring Kaliel to my current location, please?> You ask Dras'lea.
<I am busy.> Comes her response.
<Gehenna, Aeriel.> You say next, keying your ring again. <Can you teleport Marigold and I to Kaliel? She's somewhere under carved fortress.>
<I can teleport you *to* carved fortress, but probably not under, not in such short notice.> He responded. <Nobody has a map of the place, and you don't want to teleport into a physical object. That's just asking for bad news.>

You grit your teeth, and feel your soulflame serpent pulse. You close your eyes, and focus...

Kaliel was limping ever forward in a dark tunnel, dragging something fleshy behind her, gritting her teeth, eyes glazed over. You reach for the poison inside her body, and carefully, you try to draw it out of her bloodstream, to suck the poison out. The world swims, and a painful bulge welled up from her shoulder- all of the poison collected into one space. She doesn't seem to notice it, so you redouble your efforts, trying to break the skin- which bursts, sending blue-white toxin into a sphere behind her, as she continues walking, mindlessly.

You hear chittering behind her as she finally collapses, several pale, hand-sized spiders carefully coming closer.

>>
You clench your fist, and try to raise up some fire to scare off the spiders- and all that happens is the soulfire ring sparks with light, draining you of power.

"I'll be right back." You say, and take Marigold's hand. You focus, and tear through reality, landing in front of Kaliel, Marigold at your side. You quickly reach out a hand, and, legs trembling, you raise an earth elemental, which starts stomping on the spiders as more and more step through the walls, chittering angrily.
You draw Rikar, which blazes with astral fire.

That's new.

Marigold kneels near Kaliel.
"What's going on?" She asked, putting her hands on Kaliel's chest, closing her eyes.
>>
>>20879070
"She called me over the ring, telling me she was poisoned and needed my help. Can you heal her?"

No. Our signature spells are Summon Elemental, Control Magic, and Soulfire.

"I don't really know. Kal just contacted me with the rings and said she needed help."
>>
"She called me over the ring, telling me she was poisoned and needed my help." You say. "Can you heal her?"
"I- I can try." She said. Kaliel started twitching, and then light shone from Marigold's hands.

One of the chittering spiders climb *through* the earth elemental, as if it wasn't there, and chittered toward you, still angry-
So you smashed it with Rikar, the blazing astral fire turning the spider into little but ash.
"This... This isn't easy." Marigold said, breathing deeply, and Kaliel's twitching got worse. Her living armor twitched, and slammed it's tail into the hard stone of the tunnel. More chittering spiders arrived, and you saw what Kaliel had been dragging with her- a humongous, dead spider, nearly as large as an entire person.
>>

You reach out a hand, and the soulflame serpent unwinds itself, and swells, and swells, blazing with soulflame. It swirled around you, Marigold, Kaliel, and the spider she'd been dragging. As if the fire wasn't there, the chittering spiders tried to walk through it, but the snake simply tore down onto them, mouth agape, as magic poured from the silver lines in your arms, making the serpent faster, and stronger.

Finally, the spiders stopped their constant advances, and stepped through the walls of the tunnel, vanishing from view.
Kaliel continued twitching, but Marigold shushed her, pouring ever more power into her talent. A nearby pile of moss sprouted a strange flower, which bloomed toward your cousin, but she didn't seem to notice.

Finally, Kaliel shuddered, and was still. Your sense of her heartbeat came back, and her beat was strong, and certain.
"I think- I think she'll live." Marigold said.
>>
>>20879205
"Thank you, Marigold. I'm sorry for bringing you here without asking, but I think you understand why I did it. If we manage to get her outside, we should either be able to get help from the orcs, or Gehenna and Aeriel can bring us back to Triune's Gift."

"I do." She said, and nodded.

"I feel rather unappreciated right now... say, Mar, do you want to carry Kaliel, or the spider's corpse?"
Then get moving, although the spiders have retreated for the moment, who knows when they will be back.
>>
"Everything's okay, Kal." You say. "Mar, do you want to carry Kaliel, or the spider's corpse?"
"The spider keeps... oozing." Marigold says. "And it's too big for me to carry."
You nod, and Marigold pulls Kaliel to her feet. For the most part, she's still unconscious, but if led, she still walks.

You grab the spider, and start dragging it, as the three of you walk through the dark caverns, utterly lost. The twisty, turning passages seem all alike, and you don't know which one is taking you out of the caverns, and which ones take you deeper.

>No, it's all stone. No crystals at all.

You pluck the flower that sprouted from the moss, and continue on your way, eerily honing in on the correct path. It seems almost zig-zagging.
"Are you sure you know which way you're going?" She asked, and you nod, pushing forward. Eventually, you see a light in the distance, and you ascend further, reaching a stone, brick structure, with lit torches on each wall.
"How did you- oh, we're still going, then." Marigold says, as you continue on, going through doorway, rooms, more brick tunnels, and finally a set of stairs, which lead you to a dusty, dead-end room. Footsteps in the dust show you that it seems that someone had just walked through a wall...

Curious, you push on a few bricks on the wall, and just by some crazy, random happenstance, you push on one, and it slides inward, the entire wall pushing to the side.
"Kaliel!" You hear Dariel ask. "Are you back?"
You walk through the doorway, and climb up another few sets of stairs, and see Dariel there, still just as fuzzy as regularly.
You're in Sardriel's tower, it seems.

"It's me, Ishelda." You say, as you focus, weaving mind shields around Marigold and yourself. "Kaliel ran into some problems, and Marigold and I had to get her out of trouble. She needs rest, I think."
"... Right, right!" He said, looking this way and that. "There's her bed over here." He said, quickly leading you further up the tower, leading you to a large nest of pillows, complete with some kind of blanket. Marigold sets her down, and you put the blanket on her, kissing her on the forehead.
Just outside of the room, Dariel was waiting when you finally came out.
"So... what happened?" He asked, somewhat anxiously. He leaned from foot to foot, shifting his weight.

"I don't know, but it involved lots of spiders."

Creep up on Dariel. "You know what's going to happen next, don't you?" Wait a moment. "But that will have to wait until later."

Also, call the people back home. "Dad, sorry for disappearing so suddenly, but Kaliel nearly managed to get herself killed."

"Raz, I'm going to apologise properly in person later, Kaliel almost got herself killed and I had to travel to Carved Fortress to save her life. But for now, I'm sorry for teasing you. "

"Let go." He said, rather harshly. "Erm, sorry." He said, a moment later. "I've been rather antsy lately..."

Eventually, you find yourself sitting on a stool in Kaliel's room, while Marigold and Dariel talk just outside.
<Dad, I'm sorry for disappearing so suddenly, but Kaliel nearly managed to get herself killed.>
<Then of course you needed to go.> He responded. <It's fine, just come back when you can.>
Still weak, you see Kaliel blink once or twice, swimming in and out of consciousness.

Suddenly, Sardriel, in his blind elven form, stepped into the room.

"You're here too?" He asked. "Oh well."
"I heard about your little incident with Dras. What exactly happened?"

"Yeah, because she's broken. In the head. Can't feel pain, or desire, happiness, or anything, and her mind is too... slippery to build any of the infrastructure for that kind of stuff. She's insane, that way."
"What, exactly, does your normal spell do?"
"It's a little mix of everything. Happiness, pleasurable sensations, euphoria, ecstasy... good things. But queen of emptiness can't feel any of it."

Because I'd say it's quite important when using dangerously wide-reaching mental magic."
"Listen." He said. "I don't just shove those feelings inside their heads like you assume. That'd break their minds. They ask *me* to help. There are dozens of people across the world that I've helped that don't come here, and that's because when the spell wore off, they weren't in such a bad place anymore. The people here are the ones that couldn't handle things after it wore off. Whatever sort of superiority you think you have over me, I still make people happy."

"Huh. You're the only one that believes me." He said, and shrugged. "No, Not particularly. Wiping their memories isn't perfect, and they'll still be addicted to the spell, afterwards. The only thing I can do is just to keep them with me until they age and die happy- so that's what I've been doing."
>>
>>20880406
"Hasn't anyone bothered to use a lie detection cantrip, if they're so suspicious of your sincerity? And if you really do just want to help people, then why the geas on you?"

"I'm sorry for being harsh. There's still bad blood between I and mind magic, from Uriel's machinations, and I'm on edge after Kaliel was hurt so badly. I thought I was going to lose her."

He sighed, and took a seat.
"No, no it isn't. Some of them don't even have situations." He said. "I've tried weaning them off, but after one of them killed themselves, I decided it wasn't worth it. They're with me for life, I suppose."
"And what happens after that?" You ask. "Are they screaming for you for the rest of eternity in the afterlife, like they were when you were knocked out?"
"I, uh, never considered that." He said, after a moment.

Though, if I had a few more opportunities to examine Dras'lea's mind, I could probably kill off all of their emotions, and slowly, ever so slowly bring them back." He said, and shrugged. "I only asked two women that." He said. "You, because you're a solemn girl, and Dras'lea, who looks even sadder than you did, last time I took a look at you. I never asked the girl who's currently hugging Dariel, because she sounds ecstatic. I don't touch what isn't broken."
"You do have the girls draped at your feet most of the time, to be fair. Like lapcats, but people. A conscious change to that image might be wise."
He shrugged. "I let them do what they want to do."

"Dras'lea might be willing to help you. I'll mention it next time I talk to her. In the meantime, if all they need is a fresh start, well, New Arcturus is about as fresh as it gets right now."
"Until I finish that spell, I want to keep them near me in case anything goes wrong." He said. "But I can send them to you if I think any of them are ready. But I probably need one of those magic communication enchantments. I could probably break into the web if I needed to, but it's a lot easier to just have a ring instead."
>>
>>20880840
"Sure. You can break in? How hard would it be for somebody to eavesdrop on me when I'm using them?"
>>
>>20880840
"I'd be happy to give you a ring. But, um. Do I really look solemn? I mean, I know I'm sometimes a bit serious, b-but solemn?"
>>
>>20880840
"I look that distraught? You will forgive me if I limit the ring to mine. With your unique abilities, I would prefer building some trust before I provide you with easy access to everybody I hold dear on this world."
>>
>>20880840
"Sadly, I don't have any of them on me. I was in a bit of rush to get here. I'll see if Aeriel can bring one with him before he comes to pick me up."

>>20880861
I kinda want to know that also.
>>
>>20880868
It's just talking, dude. We give these things out to basically everyone we meet, they never had to have background checks before.
>>
"Sadly, I don't have any of them on me. I was in a bit of a rush to get here." You say. "You can break in? How hard would it be for somebody to eavesdrop on me when I'm using them?"
"Not easy, that's for sure." He said. "Enchantment magic is very... touchy, when it comes to things. Someone with not enough power couldn't reach into the web, and someone who tries to brute force everything would simply break the web, or let everyone know that they're listening in." He said. "I don't think I could do it without accidentally letting everyone know I'm in." He said, shrugging. "Without a ring, at least."
>>
>>20880889
But they also have never said 'I could just break into the network.'
>>
>>20880889
Most cannot use powerful mind-magic. I would have suggested safeguards for the Queen of Sosaria had I been here for that and I am glad someone thinks of it now.
>>
>>20880908
If he can easily break any restrictions we place on it, what's the point of restricting it? It's more useful to show trust.
>>
>>20880913
Wasn't her power based on her voice? She needed to physically say something for it to affect.
>>
>>20880932
Yeah, that was kind of the whole point of the ring. So she could talk to people without mind controlling them.
>>
>>20880905
"So, Dras'lea could likely do it. She's got hold of a ring somehow and she's very powerful."

<Aeriel, could you please come to Sardriel's tower to pick us up? And bring a spare communication ring.>
>>
"So, Dras'lea could likely do it. She's got hold of a ring, somehow, and she's very powerful."
"Power isn't important." He said. "Power's the least important thing when it comes to enchantment, and even then, it's only ever used to break wards. Finesse is the important thing. To be able to weave the daintiest spells... That said, Dras'lea could probably do it, but that's because I have a feeling she's a *lot* older than she pretends to be." He said.

<Aeriel, could you please come to Sardriel's tower to pick us up? And bring a spare communication ring.>
<If I'm coming to pick you up, I'll just open a portal. Better if you're going both ways.> He responded. <I'm working on it right now.>

"Um, do I really look solemn? I mean, I know I'm sometimes a bit serious, b-but solemn?"
"You looked like... like you'd never smiled before in your life." He said, and shrugged. "But you were worried about that kid with the mind control spell on him, at the time, and I can't see right now."
>>
>>20881046
"Would you mind teaching me, at some point in the future? And I guess we're both not exactly experts when it comes to making the impression we want to."
>>
>>20881046
"True, last time I came was because I was worried about him and this time was because I was worried about Kal. I probably haven't looked very cheerful."
>>
>>20881046
"Why are you blind?"
>>
"Why are you blind?" You ask.
"I tried an enchantment spell that was a bit too... high level for me, and I put too much power into it. My eyes work and everything, but my mind can't process it properly." He said. "I can use other people's minds to regain my sight, but I'm still too low level to fix it myself."
He shrugged. "And Azariel was never too interested in enchantment, so he didn't bring most of the kalak books on it, other than the basics. I've had to build my specialty from the ground up, and learn what I can from human and elven spellbooks."
>>
Rolled 32

Ask if he wants his eyes fixed.

Rolling to fix eye connection.
>>
>>20881179
"I can understand putting more than you have into a spell all too well. What are the risks of failed enchantment?"

Am I the only one who finds Sardriel a little too not-so-bad? Something seems fishy.

"I see. So it's not something you can just heal."

But we can. We're MAGIC.
>>
Guys, if we're gonna do this we should do it right.

Drop a fate point.
>>
Rolled 34

>>20881238
We don't care enough about him for a 99.
>>
>>20881238
Let's not. He's not really a friend, and we might need that fate point, since we're coming up on at least two serious confrontations.
>>
>>20881238
On Sardriel? People didn't even want to use it to stop Gary escaping and you want to blow it on him? If we can't do it, he can wait and deal with the consequences of his mistakes until he's good enough to fix it himself.
>>
"I can understand putting more than you have into a spell all too well. What are the risks of a failed enchantment?"
"Major brain damage." He said. "From the peek into Dras'lea's mind, I'd say she has something like that, but... deliberate, almost."
He shrugged. "I'm lucky to still have a grasp of my magic." He said.

"So it's not something you can just heal."
"Not with healing magic, no." He said. "Minds are like... lattices of enchantment, except naturally created over time. The spot that lets me tell what my eyes are seeing is all tangled, and it's all but impossible to fix them."
"May I try?"
"Well, if you damage me, you'll have to take care of the girls for me." He said. "As long as you know that, go ahead. My ward is down."

>[] Heal him? (Using the 81 roll)
>[] Don't.
>>
Or maybe we can ask him if he let us try before just doing it?

That's always bugged me. Never bother to ask anyone.
>>
>>20881270
Heal him
>>
>>20881270
Of course heal him, using the 81.
>>
>>20881270
>[] Don't.

Kinda of risky(even with a 81[we don't know what the DC is]) and do we really want to take care of all those girls if we mess this up?
>>
>>20881270
Does the 81 actually heal him? If not guaranteed, we might be better off waiting until tomorrow so we can be at max juice.
>>
>>20881298
Come on, an 81 is good enough for just about anything. Besides, would Exa really offer us the option, stating what roll he will use, knowing that it doesn't beat the DC?
>>
>>20881270
The greentext makes me think 81 isn't good enough. But we've worked with minds before, it should work. And even if it doesn't work an 81 shouldn't fuck him up any worse than he is. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
>>
>>20881270
Heal him/
>>
>>20881310
maybe.
>>
>>20881310
Any good GM would. It be up to players to decide on. Thus only their fault.
>>
Do it.
>>
>>20881326
I take this as a GM saying "Are you SURE you want to . . . . ." THOSE DECISIONS ARE NEVER GOOD.
>>
I'm going to go ahead and guess that his blindness is somehow linked to his geas, and that healing it stops the geas from affecting him.
>>
>>20881310
He totally would.
>>
>>20881326
Could just be that there will be consequences for doing so beyond the risk of failing.
>>
Maybe Exa is just fucking with us.
>>
>>20881338
I don't think any of the kalak are in a position where they would accept his offer. Makes no difference.
>>
Pretty sure the Geas ended when Azariel died. Just like all the other Geas' on the Kalak about talking about their homeland. We just neglected to tell him.
>>
>>20881371
That's what I thought as well.
>>
>>20881359
Unless he's been lying the whole time and is actually an immoral bastard. Or I'm just paranoid.
That being said, doo eet.
>>
This is a bad idea...
>>
>>20881371
It might not have. The geas about their homeworld was a blanket geas on all of them, and was probably tied directly to Azariel. The one on Sardriel is solely on him, and is thus tied to him directly.
>>
You nod, and put your hands on his temples, bringing forth your magic. You close your eyes, and you distinctly feel that there's something... off, in his mind. Something strange, and twisted... and you slowly twist it back into place. When you open your eyes again, his own eyes are perfectly, crystal clear. He grinned.
"You're beautiful!" He said, and gave you a hug.

"She's mine." Kaliel said, stepping out of her room.
"You're beautiful too!" Sardriel said, suddenly pointing at her.
"Uhm. What?"
>>
>>20881270
Do it, what could possibly go wrong.
>>
>>20881407
"Fixed his sight."
>>
>>20881407
I TOLD y'all he wouldn't do that.
>>
>>20881407
"I fixed his eyes."
>>
>>20881407
"I fixed his eyes. Somehow. Magic!"
>>
>>20881394
The best kind.
But why's he letting somebody he's only met twice fuck with his brain when we could damage it permanently? That's way more trusting than I'd be of him. In fact we still have our mind ward up even though he's probably not going to do anything.
>>
>>20881433
Probably because we're the first person in forever to actually believe that he isn't just a creepy perv.
>>
>>20881407
"Kaliel shouldn't you be resting! Also, fixed his sight."
>>
>>20881420
Just because he didn't do it this time does not prove he wouldn't do it ever. He would.
>>
"I fixed his eyes." You say. "Somehow. Magic!"
"Magic, obviously." Sardriel said. "But that wasn't wizardry, I know that much. You have a mind-effecting talent?"
"Sorcery." Kaliel said. "Though she's been learning wizardry."
<He hasn't... done anything to you, has he?> She asked.
>>
>>20881407
"I didn't damage anything, did I?"
>>
>>20881450
and it seems that he really wanted to get his eyesight back, and was willing to trust a near stranger for even the slightest chance to get it back.
>>
>>20881472
<I'm fine, just messing with the 'creep's' head. I think you guys gave me the wrong impression of him.>

"If I try to magic things, then they get magic'd. It's a gift. Except when it burns. I've run out of power hard a few times."
>>
>>20881472
<No, we just talked a bit. I still have my wards up. It seems he's terribly understood, quite weird, but actually not malevolent.>

"It's sorcery. I can do pretty much anything I want, although it tends to be quite... temperamental, at times.>
>>

<No, mind ward up and running. Still wouldn't trust this guy. But at least, for now, he isn't full blown scumbag like I had thought. Still a creep though.>

"Oh, I suppose I never told you about that. It's a talent, I just...imagine what spell I want to do, and if I pump enough magic into it, it just works. Unfortunately it's all rather capricious and unpredictable. Sometimes I can make an artifact without even trying, sometimes I spend the entirety of my reserves on a simple ball of light."
>>
>>20881472
<My mind shield is still up. It seems that he's not as bad as I thought at first. It seems that he mostly does that thing to people who are completely dejected, and most of them are left better off than they were before. "And she has a *lot* of reserves." Kaliel said, and then walked closer, pulling you into a hug. In a low, almost whispering voice, she continued on.
"... I missed you." She said, and closed her eyes. "Thank you for coming."

Return the hug.

"I could just take my spider with me and all of us can go home." She said. "I can cut things short... Or, you could come with me. We're just going to be coasting down the weave to Vithriel's temple. Inside the weave, Sparrow can go at maximum speed, so we can be there in less than a day."
>>
Stay with Kaliel. Abel and Gehenna got this empire building thing down pat.
>>
>>20881663
"If I'm not needed at home? Sure. I haven't seen Vithriel in ages, we really need to catch up."

Stay with Kaliel, she may be good at biomancy, but she's not a good fighter.

"Alright, I'd better be there to protect you when you somehow almost get killed by inanimate crystals." You say. "I don't think New Arcturus will collapse if I'm not there for a day, just let me sort some stuff out at home. I rushed off in the middle of a conversation."
"I'm glad." She said, giving you a kiss.

"Erm..." Marigold said, coming into the room. "Some of Dariel's fluff came off. Is that bad?"

"... You know, I could just turn Fellwind into a kalak chick again." Kaliel said.
"... I'm still not sure what's going on." Marigold said.
"He's just moulting." You say, while he struggles in your arms. "It should mean that soon he can use his real feathers. It's the kalak version of puberty, and he might be a bit temperamental for a few weeks, but that's it, I think."

A good armour should help with that.

No, don't set off her 'wah wah I'm not creepy' again.

Why would he want ARMOR from a WEAPONsmith?
>>
no, no! don't do this guys... Dariel will NEVER forgive us.
>>

Because Redglare does both, and repeating the word armour that often in one sentence sounds like crap.

>>
>>20881894
And definitely don't do this.
We're a queen, we should have tact.

"I'll just... leave you alone to moult." You say.
"Thank you." He said. "And... I'm sorry for getting frustrated with you earlier."

Together with Marigold and Kaliel, you leave the room, just to see a large, pure black portal appear on the wall of the hallway, and Aeriel poke his head through.
"Heh, I missed the first time." He said. "Ended up high in the sky. Caught some cloud on accident. How long do you need the portal open?"
>>
>>20881883
This please.

"Well...I decided I'm going to stay with Kaliel for the rest of her trip, so it's just Marigold. Oh, and the ring if you have it?"

"Just a few minutes, need to explain to Gehenna that I'll be adventuring with Kaliel for a while."
>>
>>20881952
"i'm going to be travelling with Kaliel, so just long enough for Mar to go through. Do you have the ring?"
>>
>>20881952
"An hour, maybe two. I'll need to pack a few things, say goodbye to dad, and apologize to Raz."
>>
>>20881952
"For a little bit. Gehenna wouldn't happen be near by would he?"
>>
>>20881952
You can go back now Marigold, I want to spend a bit of time with Kaliel, if that's alright.

Maybe half a day or so.
>>
>>20881952
"Not long at all. You're just taking Marigold, and Dariel if he wants to visit New Arcturus.

I'm popping home for a little bit to tell people I'll be gone for a day or two before coming back and spending some time with Kaliel, besides I needed to visit the Lizard people to ask if I could get some Mithril for Redglare anyways."
>>
>>20881952
"A little while. I'm going to go with Kal for the last bit of her trip so I'll need to set up a regent and stuff."
>>
"An hour, maybe two. I'm going to be travelling with Kaliel, and so I need to pack a few things, say goodbye to dad, and apologize to Raz. Gehenna wouldn't happen to be nearby, would he?"
"Yeah, he's just on the other side." He said. "And here's the ring."
"I'll take it to Sardriel." Kaliel said. "And I need to dissect that spider and put it on the ship." She added. She put a hand on your cheek, and kissed you again, before trotting off to go find the spider... which you essentially dumped in the middle of a hallway.
You and Marigold step through the portal, and end up on Jormungandr again, your stomach twisting as you did so. Gehenna was napping at the table, leaning forward, his wings twitching now and then.
>>
>>20882042
Let him catch a few more minutes of sleep. We can pack our things and talk to Raziel and Dad before speaking to him.
"Aeriel, do you know where my father is?"
>>
>>20882042
Poke him, and let him know what's up.
Find Father and Raz, apologize for running off, explain situation.
>>
>>20882042
"Gehenna, wake up please.

I'm going to be gone for a day or two, I'm accompanying Kaliel for the last part of her journey and visiting Vithriel. Is there anything I should bring up with Vithriel and the rest of the mothers, aside from Redglare wanting some Mithril for experimentation?

I'm leaving Marigold as regent, as usual, should you need my consent for anything simply ring me."
>>
>>20882042
(sigh) "I told your brother to get more aids to help him."

(pinch his cheek) "Gehenna, sorry to wake you but I need to inform you on a few things. One, I'll be leaving for a half-day to day at most. Two, I'll be dealing with getting the Mithril from the Lizardflok personally so you wont need to worry about that. And thank you for working so hard."

Then find dad and Raz.
>>
"Gehenna, wake up, please." You say, poking him. He suddenly sits up, and rubs at his eyes.
"Yes?"
"I'm going to be gone for a day or two. I'm accompanying Kaliel for the last part of her journey, and visiting Vithriel. Is there anything I should bring up with vithriel and the rest of the mothers, aside from Redglare wanting some Mithril for experimentation?"
"Well, you could inform them that we'd like more shipments of seeds to come with the next batch of immigrants." He said. "Vineapples and striplisk have been a hit with the non-lizardmen populace, so we need enough seeds and supplies for a proper farm. Other than that, I can't think of anything." He said. "Anything else?"
"And thank you for working so hard." You say, and he laughed dryly- strange, you've never heard him laugh before.
"Yes, I've been working so hard, by sleeping in and letting my assistants to my work for me." He said, chuckling.
"Do you know where my father is?"
"He's in the courtyard, with redglare." He says.

You look over the edge of Jormungandr, and see Redglare standing there, an axe in his good hand, and your father standing there, the golden sword in his. The two came together, weapons flashing and sparking as they sparred.
>>
>>20882144
Oh dear. I hope someone told Redglare that Marigold's healing can't really be relied on at the moment.
>>
>>20882144
Oh, interesting. Go down and see who wins.
Should they be doing that with proper weapons and no Marigold around?
>>

Watch and make sure Marigold is nearby.
Also discretely place bets on Redglare.
>>
>>20882144
"You're the best Gehenna, if there's anything you ever want just let me know."

Watch our boys fight for a bit while heading down there. make sure Marigold is alright. After the fight we'll tell our dad that we're going out for a day and to make sure to meet everyone while we're gone.
>>
You and Marigold make your way down there, where you see a small crowd has gathered. Eventually, you see Raziel, Fellwind, and Jeanne standing in a small group, so you sneak up next to them.
"Five corvus on Redglare." You say. Raziel laughs.
"Betting against your own father? Fine, I'll take that." She says. "Five corvus on Abel."

As you watch, you quickly see that Redglare's at a disadvantage. He was unused to weilding a weapon with only one hand, and so his guard was much lower than normal, though that was balanced by your father's lack of mobility. With a hiss, your father parried a blow, leaned forward, and brought the hilt of his sword forward, slamming into Redglare's stomach. He quickly brought it upwards, crunching into the hobgoblin's chin, and the arcturian blacksmith fell back, and started laughing.
"See, now you owe me." Raziel said, giving you a grin. "Welcome back."
>>
>>20882233
"I'm not back for long. I'm going to be joining Kaliel for the last bit of her journey. She was attacked by the spiders and was really hurt. I'll be gone for a day or two.

I also wanted to apologize for teasing you about my father. I don't mind if you think he's handsome, with or without feathers. That's between you and him."
>>
>>20882233
You'll have money at last! Won't it be wonderful!
>>
Quick question, do we know if the VQ looks like us to other people? I don't recall Kaliel or Sandriel saying what she looked like, just that it was Dras'Lea/Void Queen.
>>
>>20882233
"Pitching cripples against each other in lethal duels and betting on them is wrong. I'm going to go and pass a law against it."
>>
>>20882233
"I won't stay for long. Kaliel got hurt really badly this time, so I'm going to join her on the last bit of her journey. But before doing that, I would like to apologize. I shouldn't have teased you like that. I'm glad you think that highly of my family."
>>
>>20882233
"Won't be here long, I need to go help Kaliel with her adventuring.

Also, I wanted to apologize for teasing you about Abel. It was between you and him what is going on and what isn't."
>>
>>20882233
"Consider it part of the apology for earlier." (grin right back at her)

"I think I took my teasing a bit far. Sorry about that."

"Congrats father. Well fought Redglare.

"Sorry for leaving so quickly dad without saying anything. I was in a bit of panic. Sadly I'll be leaving again to accompany Kaliel on the last part of journey. Hopefully, it wont take to long."

"Ah, Redglare, I'll be down in Lizardmens empire so hopefully I'll be able bring some Mithril for you sooner than we thought!"
>>
>>20882233
"I've got to apologise, Raz. We're friends, best friends even, and it's okay if you tell me you find somebody attractive. As long as I'm on top of that list, I don't mind."
>>
>>20882233
"Will I have to be your buttler as well? Or would you prefer it if I repaid you in some other way?"
>>
>>20882342
I think its really not fair to be flirting with Raz. Shes our best friend and our girlfriends sister. We don't want to send the wrong signals and mess up our relationship with her.
>>
>>20882375
We can pay her back. We're not lacking in cash.
>>
"You'll have money at last!" You say, taking the corvus out of your purse and giving it to her. "Won't it be wonderful?"
"I'm vizier, remember?" She asked. "I get paid like... some amount leo every few weeks. I don't remember how much, but I could get it anytime." She said. "I just have to ask Gehenna."
"Also, I wanted to apologize for teasing you." You say, and she laughed again.
"Don't worry about it." She said. "We're friends, we're supposed to tease eachother."
"And I won't stay for long." You say. "Kaliel got hurt really badly this time, so I'm going to join her on the last leg of her journey."
"Well, as long as you be careful and don't distract her by shaking your tailfeathers too much." She said, grinning at you. "She told me about that."
You make your way into the center of the group, where your father was pulling Redglare to his feet.
"Sorry for leaving so quickly, Dad, without saying anything. I was in a bit of a panic."
"But everything's okay now, is it?" He asked. "If so, that's good."
"It is, but sadly I'll be leaving again, to accompany Kaliel on the last part of her journey. Hopefully, it won't take too long."
"Oh, fair enough." He said. "Take care, dove."
>>
>>20882424
"You too. Don't do anything I wouldn't do, and please don't do the stuff I would do, either."
>>
>>20882424
Raziel and Ghenna can look after you, if you have any issues, talk to them.

Oh! You have to meet Lewin!
>>
>>20882424
"Want to duel?"
>>
>>20882424
"Love you, I'll be back soon.

Make sure to meet everyone while I'm gone, they're all really friendly. You'll like them, I've found lots of good people here.

If you ever want to talk you can just use one of the rings."
>>
>>20882476
Doesn't seem like the right time for that, to be honest.
>>
>>20882476
I'd rather not stab our father.

Unless we could somehow slice off his leg, and grow a better one... That could work, i guess.
>>
>>20882500
...we don't have to stab him. It's a duel, Rikar will be blunt.
>>
>>20882476
After the adventure with Kaliel.
>>
"Love you, and I'll be back soon." You say. "Make sure to meet everyone while I'm gone. They're all really friendly. You'll like them, I've found lots of good people here."
"I will." He said, and ruffled your hair.
"If you ever want to talk, you can just use one of the rings."
"Right." He responded. "Take care, you."
"You too. Don't do anything I wouldn't do, and please don't do the stuff I would do, either."
"So I'm limited to things you might possibly do?" He asked, and chuckled. "I'll remember that."
>>
>>20882541
I'm a nightmare magnet, but it's not so bad.
>>
>>20882541
Grin.
"Exactly."
Then go and back our supplies.
>>
>>20882541
"Oh no, don't do that. That stuff's the worst. Dangerous but not so dangerous as to stop me trying."
>>

>>20882541
Magic him up a sweet walking stick.
>>
>>20882541
"Pretty much.

If you want to fly just ask Raz, she ought to be able to help you out.

And if someone offers you something called swamp brew you should chug it down, it's made of all natural ingredients so that means it's good for you."
>>
>>20882583
...
What amazing abilities does this walking stick have?
Why didn't you just heal his leg with that roll?
>>
>>20882599
Because dad needs a pimp cane clearly.
>>
>>20882583
Wow.
So our dad is stylin now.
>>
>>20882599
I expected to get a 4...

Well hopefully it'll make walking easer, and be stylish as all fuck.
>>
"Oh no, don't do that. That stuff's the worst. Dangerous, but not so dangerous as to stop me trying." You say.
He chuckled, and ruffled your hair again.
"But first..." You say, and focus... out of the ground, a long, golden object sprouted, complete with a large, crystal handle near the top- a cane, it looked. Very stylish.
"A walking stick?" He asked, and took ahold of it. "Well, I suppose this will be easier on stairs. And when I get older, I can gibber unintelligably and hit people with it."
He chuckled. "Have fun."

"I will." You say, and give him another hug. Then you go back up to your room, pack most of your belongings, and get to the portal again, before stepping through. You see Kaliel with a spider leg on her shoulder.
"Ishelda." She says, giving you a grin.
>>
>>20882697
"Hey Kali, need anything more done here?"
>>
>>20882697
"You look happy, figure something out?"
>>
>>20882697
"Kaliel. So you've been taking apart the spider, learn anything interesting?"
>>
>>20882697
"Hey Kali. Is that a giant arachnid appendage or are you just happy to see me?"
>>
>>20882697
"Kaliel." Return her grin.
"I should be back in a few days at most, if you need anything, you know how to reach me."
>>
>>20882721
I laughed. I support this choice.
>>
"Hey, Kali. Is that a giant arachnic appendage or are you just happy to see me?"
"Yes. Both of them." She said, and gave you a kiss.
"So you've been taking apart the spider. Learn anything interesting?"
"The spider's eggsack taught me a bit more about how reproduction works." She said. "I'm *this* close to figuring out how they move through objects, and I found out... These were made, too." She said. "By the same person who did the island and the sea serpents."
>>
>>20882782
"Huh, now that's an interesting coincidence.
I'll have to ask someone about some ancient mythology, possibly about a creator of monsters."
>>
>>20882782
"Will the spiders die out, now that the big one is dead?"
>>
>>20882782
They certainly left their legacy all over the place.

Did you see Belethor dashing through walls? It's his talent. Something air-related. He said he 'felt like he became the wind'.
>>
>>20882782
"Really. Kal darling this is really interesting, I'm starting to think that you may have rediscovered an art of magic instead of being the first one to make it."
>>
"Will the spiders die out, now that the big one is dead?"
"I hope not!" She says. "But there were way too many spiders for there to be only one mother. They'll be fine."
"Kal, darling, this is really interesting. I'm starting to think that you may have rediscovered an art of magic instead of being the first one to make it."
"I agree." She said. "I've thought the same since I saw the island."
She led you up to the top of the tower, and shoved the leg into a storage space on Sparrow.

"Now we just set this to go down to the Weave." She said, touching the crystal and whispering a few spells. It shuddered, and took off to the south. "And... Then we just wait." She said.
>>
>>20882885
"Oh, also, your dragon shape crystal worked beautifully, Kal."
>>
>>20882885
"So, how do you want to pass the time? I'm up for anything."
>>
>>20882885
"Could you tell me about your journey so far in more detail? I did hear much about it except whenever you were wounded."
>>
>>20882885
Wait? To get there or for something to happen?

Whatever will we do with our time...
>>
>>20882885
"I wonder how we could possibly pass the time. It's not like we're alone in a secluded airship where no one will hear us.

Kal, do you know what this means? Tea party, with kissing."
>>
>>20882901
"And I added firebreathing to it. Maybe you could study me and see how that works. Or maybe it's just magic."
>>
>>20882990
It's probably just magic, since the firebreathing isn't fire, it's motherfucking radiation.
>>
>>20883036
No, it's radioactive fire.
You don't want her to examine us closely just because she probably won't make any scientific advancements?
>>
"Oh, also, your dragon shape crystal worked beautifully, Kal." You say. "And I added firebreathing to it."
"Ooh, really?" She asked, grinning widely. "I'm glad."
"so, how do you want to pass the time?" You ask. "I'm up for anything."
"Well, normally during this time I just examine the parts I collected from the island, or the spiders..." She said. "But I really don't want to bore you because it'd mostly be me scribbling on paper and mumbling."
>>
>>20883093
"I'm sorry, I'm still not very good at this. Let me try again."

In our must sultry, come hither voice: "I'm up for *anything*."
>>
>>20883093
"You could tell me about them while you write stuff down. I know so little of the actual research you did there."
>>
>>20883107
I like this.
>>
>>20883093
"Well I'll hug you while you work, and you can tell me what you're doing."

This is good.
>>

How about a compromise:

"You could teach me about biomancy? Reproduction seems interesting, and it'd pass the time."
>>
>>20883196
I can take this compromise.
>>
>>20883196
Oh, that would fly so delightfully over her head. I'm okay with it.
>>
"You could teach me about biomancy? Reproduction seems interesting, and it'd pass the time."
"It's not really that interesting." She said. "And... I don't really know how to explain it very well." She said. "It's mostly a mental discipline, and each of the markings symbolize a different limb or feature. It takes pages and pages for a complete creature, and it took me years and years to work on this so well that I could visualize things. I don't think I'll be able to teach it to you, and it's nowhere near as simple as a single rune. It's good for my own projects... but bad for teaching to someone. As for reproduction, well... other than the basic 'information goes into the seed or egg, child comes from the mix' you need to know a lot about biomancy to understand."
>>
>>20883260
Voting to repeat this
>>20883107
>>
>>20883260
Sigh. "Reproduction seems *really* interesting. Could you "teach" me about it" Complete with air quotes.
>>

Second.
>>
>>20883260
"Well, start with the basics, then. We do have quite a bit of time."
>>
>>20883260

"Get it now?"
>>
>>20883260
"Oh. Well maybe some practical lessons would help?"
>>
>>20883093
"Kal, either I am very bad at giving out hints or you are very bad at receiving them.

I want you to put down those notes and stand up so I can carry you to bed and have my way with you."
>>
>>20883280
This, but without the air quotes.
>>
>>20883260
"So biomancy is more of a devotion then just another branch of magic. Oh well."
>>
>>20883294
I laughed at this, and support it.

"Try what?" She asked.

"Kal, either I am very bad at giving out hints, or you are very bad at receiving them." You say. "I want you to put down those notes and stand up so I can carry you to bed and have my way with you."

She put down the notes, and stood up.

since it was not declaring an action, nor was in response to Exabyte calling for a roll, no. we do not get to roll for sex.

Kaliel put down the notes, and stood up.
Ishelda took Kal in her arms, gave her a kiss, and made her way belowdeck, before closing the door behind them.

Kaliel had apparently replaced the bed that had been there with even more pillows, and Ishelda laid her down on one of the flatter, less mountainous piles. She paused to take off some of the more cumbersome items, like Rikar and her shoes, and then crawled her way up and onto Kaliel, staring into her eyes.
Kal pressed her forehead to Ishelda's, savoring the closeness she felt. They kissed, and neither one could say who had started it.

After several moments, they pulled away, both of them giggling nervously. Which only made them giggle at each other even more. Kaliel brushed Ishelda's hair behind her ear, and then let her hand go down to Ishelda's shoulder, and push her dress over and down it. Ishelda obliged her by pulling it the rest of the way off of her arm, and followed with the other side. Kaliel began gently running her thumbs over and around Ishelda's nipples, and Ishelda shuddered at the sensation.

Eventually Ishelda couldn't take it anymore, and took Kaliel's hands by the wrist, and gently pinned them over her head. Ishelda then bent forward and began kissing Kal's neck passionately, while also grinding against her thigh. Kaliel just laid there and let her, writhing and making little gasping noises.
>>
>>20884481
Hey. What are you doing. This is a SFW board.
>>
>>20884689
Finally once she was as hot and bothered as Ishelda was, Kaliel slipped out of her grasp and turned the tables by flipping the two of them over. Ishelda just beamed at her, panting from the excitement of it all. Kaliel couldn't quite help but notice her breasts heaving, but tore her gaze away long enough to look at her face. She couldn't quite remember ever seeing Ishelda look so visibly happy.
