Okay, Civ Quest, here's the Background.

You're General Foundries, or Fabrique Generale. You specialize in AI, Robots, and Automated Industrial Manufacture. 200 years ago Earth was struck by Asteroid Geddon, altering the Earth's orbit. The wide spread effects are unknown but North America is tropical from Coast to Coast. Now you operate out of a 500 story tower in the ruins of a Mid Western Metropolis called Light City. You destroyed a gang of slavers who controlled people via drugs, allied yourself with Christian Fundamentalist Barbarians and the Remnants of a Beleagured Biotech Megacorp. You've been involved in several skirmishes and engagements with a mysterious high tech group known only as "The Majesty."
>>
Last game had to be shut down because it was 2:00 AM on my end. BUT you sent out a squad of soldiers in your Salvaged Majesty Helo with Aerial Drone Support to investigate a mysterious signal from a group called "The Republic."

Also you made contact with an Orbiting Satellite, I'll get to that in a minute. In the meantime, after action report.
>>
The Majesty Helo was retrofitted with SA/SS Missile Launchers and one of the Fully Auto Anti Material Rifles that was had left lying around from the Crown Breaker Prototyping tests. We loaded up some Heavy Gun Rovers and had 12 men (plus the pilot and copilot) kitted in HAUBERK Armor. Supplies consisted of extra ammunition, rations, and a fireld repair kit, it was assumed that this would be all that was required to complete the mission.

We set out with the objective of contacting "The Republic" and made contact with "General Shultz" roughly two days into our expedition (it seems that Geddonite-C interferes with long range radio communication.) We were able to determine that "The Republic" is conglomeration of elements of the Old U.S. government and military and that they are at war with "The Order of Cincinatus" a conglomeration of tribes and other technologically advanced elements who worship "Queen Cassandra" and believe that the woman in question has a divine right to rule over all Mankind.

continued.
>>
>>21595360
YAY! Fabrique time!
>>
The Republic states that it is a Representative Democracy intent on establishing the Laws and Customs of the old U.S. and changing those customs to fit the situations where they no longer apply. (cultivation of Hemp for instance is not only legal but encouraged.) They State that the Order of Cincinatus has no goals aside from removing resistance to the Autocratic rule of Queen Cassandra and that genocide and slavery are well within their SOP. We didn't have much in the way of contact with The Republic aside from some short conversations but our contact with the Order of Cincinatus's military branch seems to bear this out.

We reached what appeared to be an old Maximum Security prison after around 6 days of flight, it appeared to be home to 5000+ soldiers and civilians who used a combination of conventional antiballistics armor and weaponry, power armor, artillery, antiair devices, APCs, Tanks, and the occasional air strike by super sonic aircraft from somewhere out east.

continued.
>>
The Republic Forces were engaged by a Military presence roughly 10000 strong, this force made use of Cargo Helos to transport supplies and troops, Assault gunships, Power Armor, APCs, Tanks, small groups of Artillery and AA guns. Note that the highly advanced portions of the Cincinatus military forces consisted of what we now recognize to be weaponry of Majesty manufacture, they even had identical markings and combat doctrines. These Majesty forces however were maybe 2000 men strong. They were supported by what we recognize to be mollochians, men using fire arms and antiballistics vests, tribals who appear to ride a mixed group of 250 pund dogs and horses, and what appears to be a supply train of merchants leading out west.

We were contacted by a man identifying himself as "War Master John" who demanded we turn over the salvaged helo, all of our technological secrets, the control codes to our automated forces and submit to "The Rightful Rule of Good Queen Cassandra" needless to say we refused.
>>
Our helo came underfire from elements of the Cincinatus armed forces and we were forced to retreat. The Aerial drones were invaluable in buying time for the transport to escape but the fixed wing drones expended all ammunition in their HMGs and all of their missiles. In combat. The Aerial Helo fared much better and actually managed to force the only persistant pursuer (a dedicated combat gunship) to retreat.

The Cargo Helo however was too heavily damaged during the retreat to recover, it crashed 3 days from Light city and our soldiers were forced to return on foot after destroying or salvaging whatever technology they could.

Its rather clear now that we are small fish in a big pond.

For Tommorow.
>>
How good is our power armor compared to Majestys?
>>
>>21595774
>Helo lost
Damn!

If i understood: the Republic is located in the ex-prison right?
>>
Okay you have a heavily modified military spy satellite in orbit, One of your head researchers managed to contact it and hack it. Last turn it was damaged by a micro meteorite and combat with a community of communication satellites.

You see, near Earth orbit is full of junk and automated satellites with self repair systems that have managed to survive by jury rigging repairs with junk and caniballizing one another. In fact some some of the Satellites up there are so large and powerful that they could probably quallify as small weapons of war.

Now, your Satellite is a Rubicon Industries device with a small nuclear power plant, some solar panels for recharging, a system of ion thrusters for manuvering, a very complex AI with self repair subroutines, and a complex system of spy equipment that lets you spy on stuff on earth. (provided other autonomous satellites don't try to stop you.) Now you roll for this guy same as everything else, 3d100s, and you try to do stuff.

Feel free to ask questions.

How possible would it be to infiltrate Majesty's base?

I know they have those thermal detectors but, how about a small robot? Just to go in, connect to one of their computers and transmit a little bit of information?
>>
Well, I guess we need to ally with the Republic or at least work closely together with them.

And I think we should share the information with our friends ar DBRL

Can the satellite build more of itself?
Can it build weapons for orbital attack?
Can we use it as a relay to hack into other satellites?

From the Data you've gathered you now know that you've been facing auxilliary units that aren't as advanced as the Majesty frontline combat models. Pic related, they were fielding type 3 style units against the Republic, who have similar units. Stealth systems were evident on both sides of the engagement.

As near as you can tell the Ex-Prison is just a base and that the Majesty are part of a larger group called "The Order of Cincinatus" who serve a leadership figure called "Queen Catherine."

From the looks of things the Majesty are based somewhere out west, and The Republic are based somewhere out east.
>>
>>21595922
Do we have any armaments or tech that Republic would be interested in? Do they have equivalent of Crownbreakers for example?
>>
>>21595875
>>21595874
>>21595883
You haven't even laid eyes on the Majesty's Light City base. You don't know how feasible infiltartion is. Also you'd need to design a stealth robot of some sort and at least prototype it if not mass produce it.

The Satellite would need to scavenge or steal components to build more of itself. You can design weapons to help it in combat with other orbital robots and it would take ALOT of resources and power to make orbital attacks feasible. Also from the looks of things oribital attack satellites are at the top of the food chain and they actively seek out and devour other orbital attack satellites so you'd have to be able to defeat one in a fight if you wanted orbital attack capability. (The smallest one in your satellites records wighs more than 10 times your satellite and has 6 ICBMs as well as 2 dozen point defense weapons) You could use it to hack into other satellites I guess, don't expect it to be easy though.
>>
>>21595922
>Type 3

WELP! Gonna need bigger guns for that!
>>
>>21595986
You saw RPGs, Surface to Air Missiles, Surface to Surface missiles, Flak Guns, CIWS devices , Lasers, Anti Material Rifles (Single Shot, Semi Auto, and Fully Auto,) Grenades, Grenade launchers, spears, sords, knives, attack animals and obvious recepients of the Yellow, Red, and Blue Packages on both sides. The majesty was making heavy use of tribals and local pro slaver groups as well as mutants of the variety that attacked you.

Both sides had people in leather, metal, and antiballistics armor alongside people in power armor. Which only makes sense because if you fielded that many troops you wouldn't be able to supply them all with power armor either. You're stretched to capacity on that as is.
>>
>>21596123
ha-Ha!
No one has robots! We still have an edge!

We really should focus on Robots and AI, I've been saying this the whole time.
>>
>>21595990
majesty armor has a chess theme and crown iconography.

You hav corporate iconography and a knight theme.

At the moment you soldiers are around 7 feet tall when they're in the armor, you could develop more combat focused armor or focus on develop vehicles and robots.
>>
>>21596123
>Lasers, Anti Material Rifles (Single Shot, Semi Auto, and Fully Auto,)

First thing first! Get some of them! Adapt the rifles for Crownbreakers and get the specifics of the lasers
>>
>>21596160
oh and artillery and vehicles. both sides had some APCS and tanks and aircraft. jets of somekind and a high altitude bomber (you saw it drop supplies into The Republic base) for the Republic and Helos with combat and transport roles for The Majesty.
>>
Rolled 73

>>21595989
Well, I vote we scout for this base and start researching stealth
>>
>>21596170
you have semi auto crownbreakers, they're your standard model. You never bothered to produce fully auto ones. Hell its a free action to start producing those since it wouldn't take much to modify your manufacturing facilities to do that.

even in power armor your guys would have to go prone to use them though. Only brawler armor can handle a burst from a Regicide Rifle while standing up.

They'd also make great emplaced weapons.
>>
>>21596244
we have a spy satellite, might as well use it
>>
Rolled 25

>>21596258
But it can't steal precious research information from Majesty.
>>
>>21596258
>>21596244
There's a weather satellite in your satellite's way. It's armed with some nasty close combat manipulators and a high capacity battery that lets it lace its attacks with damaging electrical current. You have a single gauss weapon on board your satellite and a small directional EMP weapon that basically fries unprotected electronics (making hacking impossible and destrying some salvageable components but it does help in a fight)

Would like to engage the weather satellite in the hopes of achieving optimum spying position?
>>
>>21596312
what makes you so certain you can do that yourself?
>>
>>21596345
That's why I'm voting for scouting.
>>
>>21596312
Eh, wouldn't it be better that we know where the base is and the surrounding terrain?

And I think your plan on sending stealthy robot to steal research is bollocks. No way there are not prepared for something like that
>>
Oh, and the Darwinnians are somewhat disturbed to find out that the Majesty aren't a local phenomena. They'd like your help in setting up better defenses for their building. (generally speaking, 3 walls, some gun emplacements stuff like that.)

They'll give you 80 genemods treatments in exchange for the weaponry they need to man the aforementioned defenses. (would cost you 2 RU.)
>>
>>21596423
Please, this keeps getting brushed over in every thread and it's something that NO ONE has, but we should research Gauss Weapons for our troops.
>>
Rolled 7, 94, 79 = 180

>>21596323
Keep distances from satellite and pelt it with gauss weaponry

3d100 you said?
>>
>>21596358
Well A: you don't know where the base even is, just the general direction of that base. (hey its only a 250 mile diameter of apocalyptic metroplis surrounding your tower which is infested with much larger mutated versions of rats, cats, and dogs. What could be so difficult about scouting that?) B: these people have a noted history of being willing to kill their own men if they feel their tech secrets are in danger and C: you don't even have a prototype stealth bot.

Not that I'm not trying to be snide or grumpy, just pointing out that your suggested course is so very difficult.
>>
>>21596438
With Geddonite-C this should be pretty easy now too.
>>
>>21596423
Would be great if they'd merge with us and move all of their stuff into our tower.
They should have warmed up to idea now, right?
>>
>>21596438
>>21596439
1d100. You can roll up to 3 times. that 7 is pretty nasty. Please roll again.

Note that the Gauss weapon in question can only fire once every fifteen minutes and hits with the force of your average hunting rifle.

Yes, you can make gauss weapons that hit with the force of a Anti-Material rifle. But that would suck up all the juice in one of your geddonite batteries and you have no real efficient way to recharge them at the moment.

The satellite uses solar cells to recharge its weapons and...you know space. So its got sunlight that isn't filtered through clouds, not to mention extremely advanced soler energy cells to make use of.
>>
>>21596516
Geddonite-C mostly uses electromagnetism to attract lightning, however if you researched its main uses some more you might find some uses for it.
>>
Rolled 75

>>21596567
I was thinking of the Gauss Rifles more for our sniper teams as support rather than a frontline weapon.

Anyway, we ARE behind on Geddonite research, so I'm going to propose rapid charging systems for this week's research.
>>
>>21596516
Geddonite C is no use for gauss weaponry...

Tough it attract lightning real good

IIRC Geddonite B was the "energy storage" strain, what does Geddonite A do?
>>
>>21596520
I said give it a year, a year is usally counted as 52 weeks and even then I never said anything about whether or not they'd do it.

You have an office in their base. You never did give them one in yours. You going to do that or what?

Oh and V-town has a bathhouse and better food and stuff now. They'd like weapons but they're not complaining about the upgrade in amenities.
>>
>>21596624
super conductor. Takes a small amount of electricity and turns it into a large amount of electricity, its what makes the geddonite batteries rechargeable.
>>

We'll just retroactively apply that since everyone agreed on the office thing in principle.

Also, yeah, give them 2 RU and help them improve defences.

Did we ever give/trade Crownreakers with them?
>>
>>21596717
rubns it through specialized cells that increase the amount of electricity, its simple silicon based life. I'm not saying they do it instantly, but geddonite A is designed to take electricity and increase it.

Not like magic, but in an attempt to provide food for itself like photosynthesis with heat or electricity. Basically the geddonite mutated after absorbing some energy from a bunch of batteries, its designed to "eat" heat but its learned to subsist on electricity.

Think of it as a plant thats kinda like an electric eel.

The infiltrators come in different shapes, reminescent of common incospicuous insects, the Infiltrator have the ability of estabilishing wireless connection and to store data when direct transmission to the rover is not applicable

And since i suck a bag of dicks at writing here is the TL;DR

Rover with load of memory
Small robot bugs to infiltrate
Large selection of bug types, from cockroaches to flies
>>
>>21596728
Your Satellite is able to scavenge the large battery from the Weather Satellite's corpse before being overwhelmed by scavenger bots. It escapes and integrates the battery into its structure allowing it to fire its main weapon more frequently.

Okay you've discovered the Majesty base, its located on the west side of Light City and it is surrouned by 4 walls, several trenches which appear to be manned by troops of some sort, multiple gun emplacements AA and Artillery batteries.

Judging from your spy footage it appears to be a refueling base for their helos.

Okkay you spend most of the week expanding on your biofuel production a part of this is expanding your hydroponics bay and converting your bifuel manufacturing devices to be able to produce more fuel. In the end you manage to double your production capacity.(can now field 300 heavy rovers, 12 APCs/Wrecking Rovers, 6 tanks. and 12 Aerial drones, provided they use biofuel.)

You also work on expanding your geddonite manufacturing processes. This requires dedicating several stories of your tower to producing large amounts of the strange crystalline life form. You do manage to figure out a more efficient method of feeding them (specific minerals and organic substances as well as certain ranges of electric current and certain kinds of radiation, mostly Ultra Violet) which will help your farming attempts in the future. (+10 to expanding your geddonite farms next turn.)

Oh,a nd you manufacture a lot of guns and ammo and send it down to the DBRL under a guarded escort.

In fact, we should establish a standard procedure for what we do with the Satellite for a while: for any turn we're not using it for recon or trying something specific, we have it attack a significantly weaker target in search of salvage. For those of you that are commenting on how we need to develop better power production so that we can actually use our Geddonite power storage to maximum effect rather than being unable to recharge much of fucking anything:

Project OVERCHARGE: This would involve using the tall service core of our vehicle and its height for huge power generation and Geddonite farming, along with creating a system to distribute that power from the top of the tower to receiver units that can be stationed anywhere, and probably mobile units as well because, while Geddonite is a great energy storage medium and slowly recharges, we have begun to approach the bottleneck in terms of what our current power generation system will allow us to field. In essence, we need a massive battery charger system.

As such, making use of systems that will incorporate solar collectors, electromagnetic power generation using our mile-high tower's height to take advantage of changes within the earth's magnetic field (on a given day, these can be huge even on an hourly basis with a long enough sensor), atmospheric pressure, and heat exchange between the top and bottom or inside and outside of our tower will give us a massive power generation system.

Continued below.
>>
>>21597725
Emitters to send this energy from the top of our tower, taking advantage of its good vantage point, to various locations around the city through the air have been previously described as possible (by the OP); as such, we will have to develop and create them. Mobile emitters have been previously described as possible.

We will also have to seed Geddonite fungus properly throughout the service core to create the initial collector, our 'reservior' system.

Of course, the curvature of the earth limits the effectiveness of this means to the horizon, though relay emitters might be possible within Light City itself.

Addendum: Given Geddonite-C's potential for harvesting energy through controlled lightning attraction, it is likely we could eventually add a module that would allow us to control this method without risk of serious collateral damage.
>>
>>21597737

Project DAUNTLESS: This is the premier walking/rolling tank suspension, also cross-applicable to other areas. It uses a combination of treads, legs, and backup wheel systems to ensure that the post-impact wasteland cannot stop a heavily armored land vehicle. It involves integrated suspension research and comes in three separate parts.

Project to develop radiation cleanup materials with Darwin, as yet non-codenamed: This is slated to take six resource units and give Darwin and ourselves a good opportunity to stabilize our corporate relationship; it will also allow us opportunities to learn their corporate culture and find out if they're merger material.

Project GOLIATH: This is the primary development project for a tank design, robotic or otherwise. As we are without even a working prototype of a conventional tank model from the twentieth century, it would be wise to start there; however, there are other matters to attend to first.

Projects LONGBOW and RINGMAIL: These are the finished projects for developing a number of features for our power armor's protection capacity (RINGMAIL) and sensors (LONGBOW). The features can be listed later, but highlights include protection from all known Majesty weapon systems, advancements over their armor designs, and active camo. It is important to note that these technologies and features are cross-applicable to our entire arsenal.
>>
>>21597786
Project PURGATIVE: This project is finished; it sought to create useful medical technologies for treating people in the jungles and wastes of the post-impact age. It was undertaken with the help of our allies in Darwin Labs, and includes advanced decontaminants, radiation sickness and burn treatment, and an extremely effective antitoxin.

Project SANGREAL is a follow-up system proposed for integrating these newfound capacities with RINGMAIL and LONGBOW. SANGREAL will develop a battlefield-usable dosage, storage, and administration system for the a restorative substance capable of bringing power armor users back from the brink of death and allowing them a chance to reach medical assistance; this system is to be compatible with RINGMAIL standards.

SANGREAL will also require either a constant, slow application of the curative substances or sufficient biomonitoring sensors and danger-detection intelligence built into the armor itself to administer the substance effectively, not to mention a means of making the process cheaper. It is possible that users will be able to administer curatives to themselves when they detect a certain level of danger or are informed of it (for example, "sarge says the area's full of hostiles, put your drip on for the next hour").

There is also the possibility that SANGREAL will be good for little else aside from life preservation when someone is near death, as when vitals are failing. However, this is sufficient for force conservation concerns.

Note: I proposed SANGREAL thinking that our Ambrosia antitoxin from PURGATIVE was a general remedy. As such, we will need to develop the curative first. I suggest we name it Panacea.

Project SONATA: This project will create two non-lethal suppression and incapacitation weapons.

The first is a sonic emitter that disrupts, but does not destroy or permanently damage, the eardrum. People will experience a lot of pain and likely have no capacity to fight our forces. This will be a potent weapon in coralling the escaped lab animals that Darwin developed (the giant rats and shit) if we use a concerted effort and herd them.

Part one will also require an addition to RINGMAIL/LONGBOW to shield our troops from the ill-effects.

Part two is more complex and more direct - it relies on sonic vibrations being transmitted at low frequencies to incapacitate armored forces.

In essence, if we fit a strong electromagnet powered by a geddonite battery to a sonic emitter with the goal of having it attach to someone in metal armor and make them feel the effects of the vibrations, we will likely render the target unable to stand, focus, or hold down his lunch without killing him. This won't be likely to trip Majesty power armor self-destruct switches unless they are generally impervious to shaking or buffeting, and given the previous experience we've had watching their troops survive the kinetic buffeting encountered in RPG and grenade explosions without triggering self-destruct mechanisms this should be a low enough risk to be worth investigating, the possibility of deadman switches et cetera notwithstanding.

Continued.
>>
>>21597869
Continues.

We can use our taser and missile equipment as a baseline; a dart or, if necessary, heavier projectile containing multiple darts, will be fired/launched in the general direction of the target (preferably an aimed shot). If the weapon hits, the electromagnet triggers on contact using pressure detection (nose of dart being impacted allows the circuit to be closed between the magnetic coil and the battery). After a fraction of a second, the sonic emitter should begin operation and incapacitate the victim nearly immediately.

Use is suggested alongside of blackout equipment like faraday-cage nets and smokescreens so as to effectively cut off any feeds the target might be broadcasting and create a communications blackout.

In effect, this may give us a chance at live capture of Majesty troops for depriefing and possible reverse-engineering of their armor.
>>
Finally there's Project STARGAZER, which is the ongoing operation with our satellite.

Aside from that, I'm proposing project FIRELANCE, which will look into railgun technologies (also known as Gauss weaponry). I'm suggesting the name because Gauss weapons that move fast enough might leave a trail of fire behind them (talk about a tracer round) and because a lot of current experimental gauss weapons run into problems involving fucking explosions and fires.

However, we should take a few turns to cement our gains and get ourselves up to four RU a week.
>>
[first my machine crashes and now captcha eats my post...]

Okay RRAngel manages to capture enough scavenger Robots to expand its solar collection wings and it even collects enough Ion Thrusters to increase its speed, however it uses all the scrap metal that could've gone into armor plating securing the new solar panels and ion thrusters to its chassis. Its faster and it can fire its gauss weapons with a little more oomph.

You have 2RU remaining for this turn.

With due respect for Equity Lord.

For those who have just picked up and are scared by the details, here is the short version:

OVERCHARGE: Use our tower to transmit power at great distance without using wires via artificial controlled lightning strikes.
DAUNTLESS: All-Terrain capacity for Rovers and Tanks.
GOLIATH: A tank, it doesn't get more simpler than that
LONGBOW: Sensor, sniping, recoinassance and all those thing that make sneaky bastards cry
RINGMAIL: Armor for our power armor and rovers, it's simple as that
UNNAMED DARWIN-COLLABORATION PROJECT: Cleaning the land from the radiations
PURGATIVE: Better life trough chems, from super aspirine to vaccines for the nastier viruses
SANGREAL: On-The-Field first aid kit for our soldiers integrated in their power armor
SONATA: Brown note gun, useful for sedating riots, capturing Majesty troops and fighting constipation
STARGAZER: All about space, gaining control of space, eating other space satellites, hacking space satellites, satellites and satellites accessories
FIRELANCE: Big Fucking (Rail)Gun

You manage to get a working prototype of an Attack Helo assembled, it's armed with missile launchers, a pair of fully auto crownbreakers, sensory equipment and full array of targetting devices. It's based on the Aerial Attack Drone that you produced a few weeks ago.

Sadly issues with the Geddonite power supply and scaling up the RINGMAIL stealth technology have force your scientists and engineers to go back to the drawing board.

You've got an attack helo with LONGBOW tech, missile launchers, a pair of fully auto crownbreakers, and a geddonite power supply. However the RINGMAIL stealth system doesn't work. It's usable but you'll need to fix the issues with the scaled up stealth system if you want the helo to be stealthy.

We should make some armour for our big dudes at some point.
>>
Also, since everyone mentions it but nothing gets done, I'm proposing Project CITADEL to beef up defenses and infrastructure for ourselves and others.

This includes:

-A second exclusion zone with a wall, 200 feet from the first wall and thus at a 300 foot radius around the tower. Aside from the simple benefit of a second buffer zone between our most vital facilities and the outside world, it will also be useful in shielding the town we build outside the tower from bad shit should, for example, the tower be nuked or sabotaged and collapse.

-A third wall, at least a hundred meters outside of the first two.

-Gun emplacements, fortifications, and patrols on the walls.

-A town of primarily bunker-style buildings between the outermost wall and the second exclusion zone wall for our people to live in and to house our secondary facilities, to assist in decentralizing our industrial systems should (for example) the tower get nuked.

-Use of the 50-story and 70-story skyscrapers around our tower (first is 500 feet out, second is 700) as secondary anti-air gun emplacement systems and lookout posts/sniper roosts to facilitate early warning.

-A sensor net in the vicinity of our territory, to give us more early warning of ground forces.

-Sealing, cleaning, and installation of blast doors in the sewers and utility tunnels connected to our tower, and possibly exploration, mapping, etc of them for use as an underground travel system (maybe we'll find a subway) to give us flexibility when we have an enemy inside our guard like the current Majesty air superiority situation.
>>

I can wholeheartedly approve this suggestion
>>
A force of 250 Mollochians riding armored trucks is making their way towards The Tower through the ruins of Light City. They have 100 men on giant dogs with them and you can see that they have 10 ultra heavy power armor suits with them. (10 foot tall suits of armor with miniguns for arms and shoulder mounted rocket launchers.)

The trucks have HMGs and Black Powder Rocket launchers mounted on them. They are marching in an orderly fashion and they appear to be communicating with local majesty forces via encrypted radio signals. They will reach the tower within a week.

You have been ordered to surrender your technology and people to Queen Cassandra's mercy and to be judged for heinous crimes against the Order of Cincinatus.
>>
>>21598325
Wait, the Molocians have radio contact with the Majesty? This could be our big break against the Majesty if we could get our hands on the radio
>>
>>21598260
I think we basically get that for free so long as we specify it, but sure.

>>21598154
Thanks for the cred, but that's kind of weaksauce. Here:

PROJECT LIST:

INFRASTRUCTURE:
CITADEL: (VERY HIGH PRIORITY) Defenses in, decentralization of, and integration of various things in our territory so we can get some breathing room.
OVERCHARGE: (Pretty high priority, guys.) A huge powerplant system that would, in OP's words, allow us to dominate Light City.

TECHNOLOGIES:
DAUNTLESS: All-terrain, redundant drive systems for vehicles featuring wheels, treads, and legs. It actually makes sence once you read the details. Originally for tanks.
LONGBOW: Sensor, sniping, recoinassance and all those thing that make sneaky bastards cry
RINGMAIL: Various armor technologies, especially for power armor but useful on other vehicles also.
SANGREAL: In-field trauma care systems for power armor.
PURGATIVE: Better medical care, also radiation removal and treatment.
STARGAZER: Satellite location and use.

WEAPONS SYSTEMS:
GOLIATH: A long-term project for developing tank systems. Short term solutions likely/probable.
SONATA: Sonic weapons. One is a crowd-control screamer, one is for tagging someone with a vibrating emitter that will be the equivalent of a brown note (for capturing power-armored soldiers so we can interrogate them).
FIRELANCE: Gauss weaponry and railguns, culminating in a Big Fucking (Rail)Gun.
>>
>>21598394
If we can put together a SONATA prototype for in-field use, we can take them alive.
>>
>>21598430
We should work on the Sonata prototype and organize the Parish and the DBRL for a counter offensive in the mean-time
>>
>>21598394
you don't know that the mollochians have a radio, just that 10 guys in power armor that's basically a bipedal walking tank are accompanying 350 men on trucks and gigantic dogs to attack you.
>>
>>21598325
Use one to two resources to prototype a ranged system for Sonata. Use remaining resources from this set to manufacture power armor, including for our brawler team snipers. Give them fully automatic Crownbreakers.

Contact our allies and tell them to get their heads down. Coordinate flak fire to clear Majesty forces out of the air and reload our own aerial drones; reduce their forces from the air and observe the effect Crownbreaker fire has on their suits.

Send in Teuton teams only after we observe the drones' effects on them. Thin them out to some degree if possible; also, prioritize putting Crownbreaker rounds through engine blocks and the guts and brains of their animals so they're slowed considerably. Deploy drones conservatively, from safe vantage points, at least until they've largely been slowed, and make use of pincer attacks and the flexibility of our drones' speed and air power with coordinated flak and howitzer fire to attack them from multiple directions.

Once a dent has been made in their mobility, send in the power armored troops, preferably with a team in an air vehicle we spend the rest of the week building. A prototype is fine for now.

Capturing the weaker forces for debriefing would be good too.
>>
>>21598430

>>
>>21598542

>>
>>21598529

>>
>>21598325
By the way OP, how big in terms of tons are the top of the line attack satellites?

You can just ballpark it, I'm curious what it would take to get us into the space weapons business.
>>
>>21598499
We have SSM's right? Do they have the range to hit the mollochians? Preferably we would want to eliminate the power armor guys before they get close.
>>
>>21598623
I think we have air to surface, but not surface to surface? Not that that makes any sense.

If we have SSMs, we should integrate them into the above plans, power-armored troops should be able to use the heavier launchers pretty easily.
>>
>>21598602
The largest satellite up there weighs 500 tons and has a screen of several dozen slave units. It mounts a railcannon in its belly and has an array of solar panels that has a surface area of roughly a kilometer all told. (though you'd have to detach them and lay them out flat.) But that's THE KING and it is the biggest, meanest satellite of them all.

if you want an attack satellite though you need a small nuclear reactor and at least 25 tones of weight. Your guy doesn't even clock at half a ton.
>>
>>21598745
Good to know.

There seem no objections to my modified plan, can I roll for it?

That's a set of rolls for the Sonata prototype and another for the fight, right? The helo manufacture and power armor and crownbreaker modifications are less than unknown processes, but we can roll if you like.
>>
>>21598663
you have AP RPGs and HE RPGs, you also have the same models of SAMs and SSMs, its just that RPGs are cheaper and more effective on the forces that have attacked you so far so you've used those instead of SSMs, maybe occasionally using a spotter and launcher an SSM from afar. so far your SSMs are fairly short ranged because you haven't bothered to develop artillery strike style missile operations.

Note that inbetween you and DBRL you have maybe 18 howitzers. (6 on your walls, 12 on theirs.)

So yes, you have short range SSMs which can use IR lasers for targetting. Oh and you have incendiary versions of all your current explosives.
>>
>>21598745
How difficult would it be for out satellite to enter atmosphere and crash into our foes?

>>
You manage to develop a portable Faraday cage that can be deployed in the field and used to to cut off a target device (provided its around 5 feet wide and 12 feet long) from electronic transmissions of any kind.

On top of that you manage to develop a rifle (essentially a China Lake Grenade Launcher) that can fire a shell that contains a large dart. This dart has an extremely effective adhesive at its tip and it will adhere itself to any surface it touches. (The adhesive can be dissolved with a spray) The dart carries a small sonic device with it which transmits sound through the surface it touches, it is effectively a sonic weapon designed to disable a person inside a suit of powered armor. Its effectiveness is unknown, though it has managed to get men in Teuton armor to fall to their knees and wretch.

These devices have not been mass produced and ar in the prototype stage (you have like... 12 of them all told with enough reloads for a battle.)

That leaves us with what? 1 RU?
>>
>>21599518
I suggest using that resource unit to further refine power armor manufacturing if someone can't think of something better.

We won't be able to develop AND produce things in sufficient quality for battlefield use here in less than two turns (usually we get one prototype of something big, like a tank when we research).

We have drones, we have air mobility, we have artillery. Let's do this fucking thing.

>>21599725

>>
>>21599758
We get survivability, which is important. There was a force clashing not far away that dwarfed our entire population.

Missiles we can make any time we want.

>>21599668
>>21599688
The problem with brute mods is that over time, more and more equipment will have to be customized for them. Our robotics are going to get better, not worse. Let the machines do the heavy lifting; we can make a bigger power-armor model (the middleweight mech I've been pushing for) without sacrificing much.

Also, every brute mod we place in tandem with a second mod takes up either a toughness slot, rendering the result strong but vulnerable, or an agility slot, creating an allegedly stronger trooper that can't do as well when it comes to handling complex weapons systems. Ogryns are just going to get slaughtered here.
>>
>>21599758
We already have that kind of munition. It's called artillery. Missiles without developed guidance will just miss.
>>
>>21599747
that roll was for long range missiles though.

anyway you've hit your production cap, you can only produce so many suits of power armor with garbage as your resources.

If you want to expand your armed forces you're going to have to start using non power armored soldiers.
>>
>>21599725

But we are not using them like Ogryns, when are using them as elite snipers.
>>
>>21599840
why do I keep typing we as when?
>>
>>21599812
Combination of IR targetting beams and radiod coordinated for guided missiles, its what we use in RL.

Launch the missile, it travels to point A as long as you have a targetting beam laid down it'll hit the target, otherwise it just crashes somewhere.

I mean you only have targeting beams build into every suit of power armor and combat robot you've ever constructed.
>>
>>21599840
They're likely worse snipers than our smaller teams, at this point. The toughness package has many benefits, including letting you eat anything you want and other things that let them remain in the field for longer. They're also more vulnerable to power armor malfunctions, or for example to the sonic weapon system or their suits overheating from prolonged exposure to explosions, et cetera.

In essence, they are less tactically flexible, harder to support for long-term fieldwork, and more vulnerable than agility+toughness troops. They're like ogryns compared to stormtroopers, except they're a bit smarter and a lot more vulnerable than ogryns. Putting a strong man in armor that won't do him that much good isn't going to make up the difference when he's facing a fucking tank.
>>
>>21599876
Which begs the question of why we don't already have such systems, or what we're rolling for if we do.

Is it that the missiles themselves don't have guidance hardware?
>>
>>21600162
No what our current missiles lack is range. The missiles we use now are shoulder mounted launchers which kinda lack range.
>>
>>21599876
I suggest we focus on stealth, long range missiles (including necessary targeting research) and satellite technology.

That way we could use cloaked spotters and never actually have to face the big heavy stuff directly. Also cloaked missiles.

By the way you stated that our satellite had very advanced AI, is this AI better than the one we can currently produce?
If so I suggest we transfer down a copy for research purposes.

Okay due to a load of stuff you don't need to know about I had to bow out without giving you fair warning last night.

However I'm free for the day.

We got anybody who wants to continue playing?

Oh and as for power armor:

You can only us and maintain 1000 units at the moment. when you hit 6 RUs per turn you'll get 2000 units of power armor. at the moment you can equip 750 units of power armor with your HAUBERK modifications, seeing as how you'll only ever field half to one quarter of your population in battle its a bit pointless to improve power armor production (in this case make equipping and producing HAUBERK cheaper.)

Now your targeteing tech is built into, basically anything that uses thermographics or night vision, as well as your RPGs and SS/SA Missile Launchers. This means just about everything you field could sight for artillery class missiles (which is what you'd be developing.)

Though maybe you should forget the missiles and work on BARDING (RINGMAIL tech for your vehicles.)

I wish to continue.

Ready to rock. We need all our boys ready for those cock suckin' Molochians and their buddies. Power armor and heavy weapons, and every Rover we can field. These guys are putting on a show of force? Let's show off a little while we stomp their skulls under foot.
>>

>>21609118
Unless I somehow missed where we already dealt with it. In which case, disregard my faggotry, I'm still here.
>>
Okay I'll write up your missiles, then I'll start on the battle AAR. Put on some boss music or something. (I like slamjam remixes.)
>>
Your guys in R&D develop a software application and install a Marker Light on the attack helo. From there they develop a launching platform and install it on the roof of The Tower. With that done they manufacture 2 Shrapnel missile (designed to detonate mid air and shower an area with razor shrp fragments of metal.) 2 Incendiary Missiles (designed to blanket an area in napalm) and 2 Bunker Busters (designed to punch through layers of concrete and steel armor, just in case.)

These missiles have been readied for use and will be available in the coming battle and for other future conflicts, however you must use RUs to make more if you wish to make them a regular part of your combat actions.

Please note that BALLISTA munitions have only been designed for use in the confines of Light City and will have to be modified if you want to use them outside of your city.
>>
>>21609218
are these missiles similar in size to the ones used by M270 MLRS?
>>
We spotted a combined force of Mollochians and what appear to be super heavy variations of Majesty Power Armor. Rather than give in to their demands we chose to fight, first began Stage 1 of our operation by coordinating with The Parish and the DBRL to force Majesty Helos out of the sky with concentrated Flak Fire. Our enemies appeared prepared for this eventuallity and continued marching on the tower. Then we enacted Stage 2 our plan and began shelling the enemy column, they responded by moving beyond range of our guns and bunkering down. We attempted some modifications on our guns and even use of BALLISTA type weapons but a combination of weather and terrain made striking their new position impossible.

We were forced to enact Stage 3 of our plans. Using Parishioners and Darwinnian security forces as auxilliaries we moved in on their position. Heavy Gun Rovers took the fore and our Stealthed Helo was on site to provide our forces with aerial support along with our aerial drones.

continued.
>>
>>21609218
Since it's a relatively small band of elite troops (only 10 power armored guys + a bunch of mooks). I suggest we use this opportunity to test several new weapons. Starting by testing the crown-breaker and "brown note" darts on the power armor, followed by an incendiary rocket on Mollochian. Depending on the results follow up with the Shrapnel and if necessary(though I doubt it) bunker buster.
>>
1 hour and 27 minutes after engagement of Stage 3 our troops were engaged by Tribal Cavalry mounted on what can only be described as gigantic dogs. Use of HMGs, LMGs, Crownbreakers, Assault Rifles, and SMGs proved enough to either force retreat or kill both animals and riders. Several Tribals and Mounts were captured and sent back to the Holding Facility at The Tower, they were escorted by a combination of DBRL Security Forces and Parishioner Samaritans.

The enemy encampment was overseen by a 100 story sky scraper and despite heavy structural damage to the building several squads of Green Eye troopers were able to scale it and paint a Marker Light on the encampment, permission was granted for the use of a BALLISTA shrapnel missile and the enemy took heavy casualties. However they were able to get a trio of Cargo Helos onto the battlefield by flying extremely low and taking advantage of the remaining tall structures of the Light City ruins.

Continued.
>>
>>21609434
what options do we have for increasing our population?
>>
Our Spotters on the Sky Scraper were unable to be a further use to us in the battle due to Majesty Shock Troopers who were landed by the Low Flying Helos. 2 Men were killed with what appears to be a modified Browning M2 and 1 was killed by a Helo Mounted Laser. The Cargo Helos were driven off by Gun Rover fire and the Spotter themselves but the Spotters were forced to spend most of the battle fending off assaults by the Majesty Shock Troopers.

The BALLISTA Long Range Missile managed to kill One Third of the fielding Majesty Expeditionary force and 4 of the 10 Ultra Heavy Majesty Troopers, hover we were unable to field anymore BALLISTA missiles due to the use of both a smoke screen and a primitive but effective radio jammer and what appear to be that the Majesty force fielded.

Attempts were made to capture the Ultra Heavy troopers with SONATA but it appears the device is not suited to taking down an opponent of their caliber. It suggested that the device be upscaled in the near future.

continued.
>>
>>21609560
we are currently getting a steady increase form the Parish and Viktry town, I think.
>>
The Ultra Heavy Troopers were able to kill ten Teutonic Troopers, fifty Gunrovers and wound 50 more Teutonic troopers with a combination of Lasers, Fully Automatic Anti Material Weaponry, and AP Missiles., however they went down to AP variant SSMs and after they were taken out of the picture the battle mostly became a matter of mopping up remaining Mollochian and Tribal forces.

We currently have 40 triabl riders and 50 Mollochian soldiers in custody at the Holding facility, 13 of our men died in this battle as well as 5 Parishioners and 2 DBRL security members.

It is worth noting that the DBRL Security teams equipped their commanders in power armor that appears to have its own stealth tech and long range communications technology.

For Tommorow.

You get a steady trickle of recruits from V-Town and the Parish, enough to replace losses from disease, old age, and accidents, occasionally (like now) a large group of immigrants comes in from somewhere to join up. In this case its a group of gangers from the outskirts of the city who want a shot at the good life, 170 of them have set up shop in V-Town. They're rowdy but they do as they're told.

You got 40 tribals, 50 Mollochians, some radioactive power armor junk, a whole mess of giant dogs from that fight.

If you want to increase your population you can venture out of the city and start recruiting from the Small Settlements out in the Geddonite Plains. Might wanna start exploring your world.

nah, bigger, each one is about 12 feet long. They're meant for air strikes, instead of mounting them on bombers or whatever you've just slapped them on your Tower. You can develop rocket artillery if you like though.
>>
>>21609675
I suggest 1 to CITADEL, 1 to stockpiling BALLISTA (or making a production line for them if we need to), and 1 to DAUNTLESS.

By the way I have an idea for a new anti-air Ballista munition designed to introduce any large groups of enemy air units to the concept of macross missile madness. What do you think?
>>
>>21609792
I was referring to the guided missiles that they can use instead of rockets which are 13 feet long.

You see pic related? No the one on the bottom. Yeah you could make that now, but it'd be slow and cumbersome and a big target like a tank would be without the added manuverability. You need to research integration of hexapod and wheel/tread drive locomotion if you want mechs to be a reality.

Now take a look at the top mech and the bottom mech. now in my worled, they'd both be equally slow, except the top mech is taller so it prevents a larger target profile.

You've already got robots with rifles, RPGS, SS/SA MLs, and other nasty shit mounted on them, aside from being unable to clomb stairs they don't have much in the way of noticable flaws.

No offense bro, but, just what is the point of a bipedal robot? a hexapedal robot could climb stairs just as easily.

Because it's cool. Duh. Even the most pragmatic quests need some cool shit once in a while. Like bipedal mechs. Humanoid bipedal mechs, to be precise.

>>21609902
Not that we don't have cool AND pragmatic stuff (like power armor and GunRovers), but we need some stuff that's there just because it's cool.
>>
>>21609921
This is the perfect time to spend resources on increasing our RU per week intake and fortifying so we can send out exploration teams.

As such, I'm going to push for CITADEL to get all resources this turn so as to get the V-towners into a position where they can start paying us for their amenities, and use whatever's left over and next turn's RUs to increase our Wreckingrover regimen.

As for why mechs are a cool idea, we have the benefit of kinesthetic control schemes there. A single mech pilot could move a two-legged, more or less human-shaped low profile vehicle by thought more easily than he could move a hexapodal one, though it would essentially be something like upscaled power armor. Though it might have the capacity to fall back onto wheeled, treaded, or other systems for redundancy (probably treads, that Armor Core shit with the tank legs might not be too inane after all), it would decrease the number of people that would be required to man a single heavy vehicle.

Since we have a population that isn't all that huge, it is evident that less people driving tanks and tank-like devices would be better than more people.
>>
>>21609902
Good a reason as any I guess, and you'd have to develop Bipedal systems for medium sized walker mechs if you don't want spider mechs. (Which are cool as well, screw anyone who says other wise.) But you need consensus for this. Since, you know you coyuld just make six leged medium sized walkers for patrols and stuff.

anyway at the moment your Teutonic Troopers are "only" 7 feet tall in their armor so they could fit into a mildly upscaled APC pretty easy. You could produce an APC based on WreckingRover designs that can haul 12 people or a combat APC based on the same designs that can haul 6 people but has stronger attack systems.

1 RU for research 2 RU for an immedietly usable prototype.
>>
>>21609990
So, two resources to building the second exclusion zone wall and the outer wall, and one to building the V-towners a residential bunker, basically a barracks with decent amenities and a good amount of food storage, facilities for education etc. They'll be asked to assist where they can, possibly only in resource gathering.

I never did get why our guys were seven feet tall. Barring some kind of antenna or a pole attached to them, they'd have to have foot-thick platform shoes and a six-inch thick helmet if the average height is five foot six.
>>
>>21609985
That's about 2 RU, one for a wall, and one for manning that wall with a metric fuck ton of guns. Leaving you with 1 RU to spend on whatever.

oh and its week 51.
>>
Rolled 2

>>21609990
We have three RU this turn, right? I would advise spending one on Research (it's not priority right now, full honesty) of the upscaled APCs, and another on researching/developing Bipedal systems for walkers. Last one goes to CITADEL.

>>21609985 has a great point about the walkers. One man tanks, plus if humanoid that can do stuff like heavy lifting as easily as cranes an shit. ...I also like the idea of treads on backup.
>>
>>21609861
research the integration of hexapod and wheel/tread drive locomotion if you want mechs to be a reality.
And this:
PROJECT GUNGNIR:
Project Gungnir is an attempt to create appropriate vehicle scale weapons for our expanding forces. It attempts to recreate two related technologies: the tank gun, and the Chain Gun. The Chain gun will be modeled on the M242 Bushmaster, while the tank gun will be build along the lines of the Rheinmetall 120 mm gun used by Bradley MBTs
>>
>>21609861
>No offense bro, but, just what is the point of a bipedal robot? a hexapedal robot could climb stairs just as easily.

You know, this was my point when I was trying to get us research robotics and AI instead of PA. Sure, we can strap some AI into PA and call it a day but a dedicated killbot should look nothing like a human.
I imagine it having 4 to six legs, retractable manipulators, all double-jointed and with melee weapons, our bots should have integrated weapons if possible instead of wielding them in arms (no need to reload as ammo is directly fed and would be much harder to disarm), they shouldn't heads at all (obvious weakness) instead the optics and other sensor equipment would be mounted on the chassis all around (360 degree vision), etc etc

The only reason to develop human-looking robots is for infiltration.
>>
Rolled 34

>>21610051
This works too. Last RU good for researching/developing bipedal walker systems? And yes, I know I sound dumb saying APCs aren't priority, then spending RU on 'cool shit'.
>>
>>21610017
You're using a silicon based life form for power and the 7 feet tall thing bothers you?

But you have a point, They're normal size soldiers now I guess, maybe a few extra inches in the armor, but not as drastic an increase in height as I stated. (This is why you don't stick with decisions made when sleep deprived.)
>>
>>21610060
>>21610091
We can get APCs later, if we put two turns of work into citadel we'll get more resource intake and that'll mean more research can go on at once. That's when we put time and money into things like DAUNTLESS.

The important thing to understand about the walker mechs, which I've been planning with these qualities in mind since like thread two, is that they are a lighter and more flexibile system. They're not tanks. Our tanks will probably be fuckhuge and terrifying.

>>21610082
Added to my running list of projects.

>>21610085
The thing about robotic forces is that they need power and control systems resistant to subversion. We just subverted control of a half-ton satellite by rolling decently, do you think we can afford that with a half-ton surface robot with killer intent? I'm not saying we can't have robots like this, I'm saying that step zero is hardened, redundant, secure control system.
>>
>>21609985
>As such, I'm going to push for CITADEL
second

We might as well provide electricity and plumbing to them too (unless your project already covers that too)
>>
>>21610144

Hmm. I haven't thought about it.
Yeah, we'll need to develop some pretty tight security, maybe install self-destruct and kill-switches like Majesty does.
>>
>>21610093
Eh, the silicon-based lifeform is kind of like a standing black box. It's weird and crazy if you look at it too hard, but it's also more or less the only huge macguffin in the setting and without it the setting wouldn't really work for us, so I can handle it.

The seven foot tall thing doesn't really bother me so much as making me try to picture it and coming up with PLATFORM SHOE SHOCK TROOPERS, with orbital drop capacity because of their massive boots taking the stress. Then I have a giggle.
>>
>>21610147
If it can cover that, sure.

>>21610170
Preferably we don't have to destroy war materiel because of risk of subversion. See, the thing about a complex control system or whatnot is that even if it was subverted, the new operator might lack the training to do jack and shit. This is beneficial to the old operator getting it back.
>>
>>21610051
1 to DAUNTLESS(which is the hexapedal thing)
>>
I am seeing a distinctive lack of Sat Action.
>>
oaky this turn is spent building two walls, one surrounding V-Town, the other acting as a further exclusion zone. Both walls are manned with weaponry and patrols of soldiers are set in place on the walls. Like the first wall they have 4 gates, each acting a direction of the compass. The gates are several feet thick and made of armor grade steel plating. They cal only be opened by sliding them into their storage compartments in the walls.

The V-Towners are given increased amenities. In this case that means bunk style buildings that are around 4 stories or so in height. The bathhouse, cafeteria, and other buildings are also replaced with bunker style buildings. Like the old Geddonite research lab they have internal gun emplacements and roof mounted AA weaponry. As with the geddonite research lab they are supplied with electricity and plumbing.
>>
>>21610235
The (suggested) standard procedure os for it to hunt weaker targets to slowly upscale its capacities every turn. Though if that doesn't go without saying, I'd like to do that.

We've already got at least a couple hundred people squatting in a glorified homeless shelter, we should work on integration really.

Oh and as for your prisoners?

Both groups say they were approached by The Order of Cincinatus and offered food, water, weaponry and a place in "The New Order" if they backed Queen Cassandra. The Mollochians say that their kinsmen will pay ransom and the Tribals swear they won't act against you ever again should you just let them go. (however they can't promise the same for their kin. Oh and the Mollochians state that they are in fact called "Spartans" and that yes, they do enslave barbarians and force them to work for civilised folk.)

A: you can't control things via thought without going all cyberpunk and implanting yourself with some sort of well... implant. B: your current control system makes use of a device which uses electrodes and software to sort of, interface with your nervous system along with a motion capturing system that mimics your movements. Oh and your HUD measures eye movement a facial ticks and has tongue buttons.

The type of mech your talking about a light mech designed for manuverability and.... I dunno LEMs amd Missile launchers wouldn't benefit from "Thought Based Control System" anymore than a Operating system designed from the ground up for a Hexapod based control system. The difference between bipdeal mechs or hexapedal mechs is about 50% aesthetic I'm afraid.

I doubt it's as simple as that, though one component can be that. The other can be air drops of relief supplies with clear instructions (even for illiterates) of how to navigate towards us by determining cardinal directions with the sun and maybe the stars, not to mention how to care for their lighter wounds and a map.

The problem with that is it makes us vulnerable to spies, but it's only a matter of time as it is. Which is why we gotta decentralize.

You do recall that the Order/Majesty has air vehicles flying around our town, right?
>>
>>21610420
The Spartans state that they were given food, resources, and a reliable source of guns and ammunition by The Order of Cincinatus. Certain kinds of Work are for inferior peoples. (MEaning anything that gets you dirty or qualifies as heavy labor) They refuse to sully themselves with such ignoble practices and raid barbarians (anyone who isn't a spartan) for workers so that they can be civilised by honest work for their betters. Apparently they buy into the "Divine Right of Rule" line that the Order of Cincinatus uses to legitimize Queen Catherine's rule and think they have a divine right to conquer other people and use them as slaves.

The Order supports their slaving habits so they sided with the order.

The tribals don't really have a beef with you or the Order, they were just paid to attack you so they did as they were paid. They keep repeating their offer to leave and never come back. (Without an incentive to leave you alone, they can't guarantee their kin will do the same though.)
>>
>>21610538
Wait a minute, ask the Bishop if he'd be offended by it first.

The Christian Church influenced public execution such that people were just nailed to the walls instead of being crucified roman-style, so if he says that'd be disrespectful to his faith then we can do it some other way.

However, if the Order wants to be a bunch of savage fuckwits, we can deal with that.
>>
>>21610538
I doubt few crucified people would get any reaction from Majesty or the Order. They have probably seen and do much more horrible things.

Seriously, it will only taint our efforts at trying to become a bastion of civilization in wasteland.

We'll keep them here until we have sufficient air power for proper cover, but after that they can go home and tell their people what they think.

We can also show them that opposing us means dying horribly, with death by firing squad or crucifixion being publicly displayed with the Spartans to let them know what we're capable of. That's the incentive to fuck off if they don't join, just so they don't think we're soft.

What kind of PA do they have anyway?
did they develop it independently from us?

Wouldn't it be better if we set up joint-project for this so that we both don't waste time when we could improve PA twice as fast?
I mean, we're trying to merge with them anyway and we're already pretty close allies, so giving them our PA research doesn't seem bad to me.

R&RAnegl manages to tak out the satellites manuvering thrusters and manipulators before closing in for the kill. It is able to caniballize the Fox Media Satellite's computer to give itself superior processing power and as much of the other satellite's mass as is possible. It gains a minor power boost from the solar panels and a major armor bonus from the other satellite's bulk, the fision battery proves to be mostly useless and in fact has a minor dangerous leak. Oh and you have its communications suite, turns out it was deisgned to broadcast cable and other entertainment signals.

R&RAngel now has broadcasting capabiliti and weighs in a 2/3rds of a Ton.

>R&RAngel now has broadcasting capabiliti and weighs in a 2/3rds of a Ton.

I would like to use this for various purposes, but first of all we should encourage togetherness with the people of v-town by offering them the entertainment archive's data and allowing them to broadcast their own tv-channels (just a few)
We wouldn't need the satellite for that but it would be nifty for V-town residents to have something to do besides scrap collection.

we can also use this for communications with outlining towns like the one that the Vtown people travel to (i forget the name) just don't forget to add a self modifying encryption to the signal.

Also Dr.D is working with crtyptology to secure sole access to the satellite so that no-one on earth can hijack it from us.

about 10=15 turns of research to develop an actual AI with enough intelligence to be a tactical use. This raises the issue of Synthetic Intelligent and how Human Rights applies to them and loads of other stuff.

Self-fulfilling prophecy, guys.

>better indoctrination

OP and I seem to be using the word for its literal meaning, as in 'to teach a doctrine.' A lot of other people are using it to mean some kind of strange brainwashing process, I guess. When the US marine core uses the word, for example, it means to teach marines things like how to carry and use a certain weapon; this helps bind their troops and units together, but it does not provide magical loyalty.
>>

Ok: satellite upgrade, long range missiles and some tribal prisoner sent in the Room 101.

Okay in regards to the Spartans (formerly the Mollochians) you consult your traders.

They tell you that the Spartans live in a fortified Town out west that is home to about 20000 citezens and 10000 slaves. The Slaves work the fields and orchards that surround the city and do all of the hard labor, any slave that kills a Spartan gets his entire household executed. (and by executed they mean tortured to death one by one, age and gender are irrelevant, pregnant women and children are not exempt from this punishment) The walls of the twon are lined with the bleached bones of disobedient slaves and they are wideley known for both their cruelty to "barbarians" and their smug sense of superiority over non Spartans.

Thats what your Trader bros tell you anyway.

Yeah, because the newfound capacity we have to use it as a communications relay for visual data for our military is trumped by the non-fungible sunk cost of letting junkies and tribals and people who've never seen broadcast cable TV in 200 years put on sitcoms.

Indeed, its not like allowing them to fight for us, by giving them weapons will in any way backfire on us.

Lets put them in V-town, a place they will completely hate, by the very nature of their society and upbringing. And give them weapons and armour. And frequent acess to traders and information about or technology (because they will see plenty there).

Its not like it will backfire.

That's EXACTLY what I mean when I say indoctrination. Your Indoctrination methods literally consist of tealling people that they are bad, explaining why they are bad, and telling them that they can be good. Half your interrogation techniques with the Tribals and the Spartans consisted of "Ooh, check out this cool stuff. If you were our buddies you could have some of this cool stuff for a reasonable price!"

The tribals were mpore than happy to have their kids and eldersd grow up in a safe place while their warriors roamed the plains the Spartans are confused by mechanical industrialization. Why use machines when you can use slaves right?

depends on what you're asking for and whether or not it would actually be useful and how it would interact with your available technology.
>>
>>21610893
In retrospect, I suggest we use the Library of Congress database to put together an interrogation team using known practices (preferably not the kind that are outlawed in the Geneva Conventions, but still pretty rough shit) to get as much information out of the Spartans as possible, put them in a secure facility, maybe fit them with explosive collars, and roll every turn to see what we can discover about them tactically.

If we need to execute them publicly, do it when we have the power to provoke the spartans and do it literally in front of their base, within eyeshot, in as provocative a manner as possible to get some of them to abandon their defenses and run right into our killzone.

That'll be when we fucking wipe them out and write something like Sic Semper Tyrranis on their shit.
>>
>>21610950

You have the Spartans shot publicly, you record the court proceeding before hand to indicate that these people were found to be criminals under the proceedings of a civilised justice system. Each of the Spartans is brought out in groups of ten, they are shot with high caliber hunting rifles by troopers selected via lottery. No more than one volley fo rifle fire is required. The corpses are then put on display at the old Vice Lords fortress (now a thoroughly looted ruin.)

The Tribals are let loose, true to their word people begin trickling in, mostly prgenant women, older folks, the occasional group of elders, and sometimes adults who don't feel like running around the plains on an animal of some sort. They're given shelter in V-Town and put to work gathering supplies from the ruins of Light City.

And considering how big we are i assume we can easily target anything incoming to the city with the Missiles we have. By virtue of lasers.

>There are towns all over the place, going to those towns, talking to the people, finding out what they want, setting up a caravan to guive them that item can net you 1/2 to a full RU

This might be simple enough and not cost a lot in manpower. Lets do it.
How many towns do we know that are around? If we don't know many, we should use our satellite to discover some, it would be faster and more efficient than doing it other ways.

Of course, we could just ask people in V-town and the merchants.

So yeah, lets set up as many caravans as we can.

Well...

You're able to destroy all of the attending Scavenger bots, while the Construction satellite does manage to take out a few of your manuvering thrusters you're able to move in for the kill and completely destroy the enemy Satellite's power supply. From there you set to work caniballizing the most important parts of the satellite. Then you're met with a nasty surprise.

The Rubicon industry parts were just the spoils of old battles. The construction devices and old computer of the satellite are Pear Corporation products and incompatable with 90% of the hardware and software in the known word. Thankfully form equals function so the construction devices are useful but the Computer's software is totally useless. R&RAngel wipes out the old Computer and caniballizes everything it can use, the useless stuff becomes makeshift armor plating.

R&R Angel now weighs a ton, if you want to use the construction module you need to write new software.

New project idea: TRINITY- basically bring the other skyscrapers online for our use. Could be combined with CITADEL.
>>
>>21611509
Shmidtsburg and New Sparta so far. No reason you can't find more however.

Might wanna consult your merchants.
>>
>>21611549
Since I've been including retrofitting the skyscrapers in my goals for CITADEL, we can save TRINITY for something more deserving. It's a good codename for a horrible, terrifying weapons-system.

So, guys, four more wrecking rovers this turn would maybe get us up to 5 RU a week.
>>
>>21611543

How good are a Sat's defence against missiles and against smallish robots that have landed on them?
>>
>>21611573
We don't want to do anything with New Sparta jerks and we already have a trade Caravan with Shmidtsburg, right?

Yeah, lets ask merchants and other people.
>>
>>21611573
>>21611581
Also, use the celebrations to wine and dine the merchants to get more information out of them, and to do the same with the leading families of the Parish and the people from DRBL but instead of information, see if we can arrange any new trade deals.

Everything but our top secrets (the satellite, core power armor techs, etc) and literally going over and building new industrial facilities for DRBL is on the table. The Bishop should mostly be told we'll get to his power grid and whatever else was promised in the next few weeks.

The message is that we're eager to work with our allies to secure a better future.
>>
>>21611615

>building new industrial facilities for DRBL

God, no. That there is part of our top secret stuff, because its the only fucking advantage we have.
>>
>>21611640

Beyond what we are using it to build stuff for us of course. But i would probably put it beyond almost any tech we have, because without it we would not be anything resembling what we are right now.

Consult merchants.
Okay, so we what exactly are we doing this week. I know we are making another wreakrover, but what else? Can we use the rest of our RU to move the robotic MBT program along? Then we can get some APC's and we will actually be a mechanized force instead of glorified footsloggers.

>>21611640

We're aiming at eventual merger, so I don't see anything wrong. Besides, it will not hamper our own manufacturing since we'll be building new facilities for them (probably couple entire stories)

dont panic we're only on page 4

4 more WreckingRovers would get you up to 4 and a half.

Missioles are very resource intensive, and you only really have Ion Thrusters to give them thrust, and they'd have to be equiped with a power source AND they'd need some manner of explosive, an EMP I guess, but then you'd need such and such resources.

Missiles are out.

"Tiny " robots are what you've been facing for awhile now, they're armed witrh power drills and saws and stuff like that, some pack malware. Mostly they act like parasite craft and take turns nursing power from their parent craft.

Scavenger bots are orphaned "fighter wing" robots that band together for survival's sake. Basically they're what happens when a satellite with tiny robots gets destroyed and the tiny robots don't get dusted.

anyway gauss weapons and tiny robots are the only real feasable weapons unless you feel like launching a satellite some time soon.
>>
>>21611682

When the eventual merger happens, good for everyone! And i do mean it.

But until then, giving our main advantage. And i do mean main advantage, because we would still be struggling to take over the city if we did not have it. Just feels criminal.

Almost like having a monopoly in a market and giving over what made us get that monopoly free of charge.
>>
Ugh, can we please just do something?
>>
>>21611672
I agreed to develop your stuff next turn if you were okay with four new wrecking rovers this turn. Let me know if you're still up for that, nobody else is really saying anything else.

Everyone else can second it or vote no or suggest something, but come on, guys.

Tense agreement - I was stating that building them new industrial facilities was NOT on the table.
>>
>>21611543
Dr. D will get right on it!

With this new development Dr. Derringer goes down to the manufacturing bowels of the tower to collect some better amenities (rather than continuing to sleep on a cot, she wants a regular bed and such).
While down there she chats up the lead programmer and informs him of her new windfall with R&R Angel acquiring the construction modules.
He happily copies the code for the basement fabbers to a disk for her to at least have something to start from.
Collecting her new digs on a pallet and swinging by the kitchens for a coffee n foodstuffs reload she heads back up to her temporary/permanent roof digs to start the arduous process of putting her new bed together. After that then getting to adapting the programing for our satellite.

I am my own piece.
>see name

>tiny robots and scavenger bots are orphaned craft

I am proposing Project STARCARRIER.

STARCARRIER's goal is to amass a set of fighter wings from the plentiful orphaned fighters in orbit.

This will require our satellite to build orbital facilities and for us to assemble a groundside team capable of subverting control over and supporting fighter operations in orbit, which will include power and maintenance bays, fueling, et cetera. It may even include creating a fabrication system with the tools to rebuild these fightercraft in various ways.

This will give us force projection against other satellites, perhaps some above our weight class, and potentially create a pool of scrapable parts from the fighters for use as raw materials. In addition to this, we will also have disposable forces to throw at enemies which we can lose without putting our primary satellite at too great a risk.
