The weapons rack that, if you're honest with yourself, you didn't really want to approach so much as look at. Sure, the weapons arranged neatly on it can be considered beautiful, it not garishly ostentatious - but something about them just feels off. A subtle wrongness you can't really pinpoint.

They do look rather fetching, though. Very eye-catching.

You look at Kharn again, and she nods at you, encouragingly almost. The grin curling her lips almost insufferable.

You reach for the bangles. She said they changed into...metal gauntlets or something, right? That'd help at least. The chainaxes do look tempting, but you'd probably hurt yourself trying to figure out what to do with one of them, let alone two. The gun and the sword do look particularly useful, but you'd rather try something that's out of your comfort zone, but not so much that you'd be stumped on how to use them effectively.

You know where you stand with gauntlets, at least.

It's all about punching people really hard. Not even you could screw that up.

Strangely enough, the chainaxes - the huge, ugly monstrosities, birthed from the unholy union of two massive axes and two equally-massive chainsaws - feel nothing. Right now you're going with what seems to be the least bit disturbing, the least bit daunting. The least likely to drive you insane.

It does sound like an enviable thing to see, if it weren't so morbid.

"Ha! You would not say that if you had not lost your memory." She hefts the smaller chainaxe up, resting it against her shoulder. "It is the best fate any of us can ever hope for. Certainly, it is better than the alternative, eh?"

You are silent at that, before glancing down at your bangles. So far, they haven't really done anything, besides look pretty. You point this out to Kharn, who has the audacity to look as confused as you are.

Sure it's rather unsporting, as your opponent's all but chosen to use a close-combat weapon, although their reach and size kind of renders their classification slightly moot. You're not that desperate for the sword yet, and--

There's a small spark as both bangles come in contact with each other, resulting in a brief flash of golden light. You close your eyes reflexively at this - at the same time hearing the sound of metal sliding, folding, clicking against each other. Feeling your arms suddenly sheathed in cold, unforgiving metal, from halfway up your upper arms to your fingertips. A coldness that disappears and melts into a comfortable warmth as the light finally fades.

You reach up with a hand to cover your mouth just as you open your eyes in a squint - and find that your vision is suddenly covered by a giant, brutally-clawed hand. Not like Kharn's - this was, in effect, a giant robot hand, painted completely black, the edges scarred and chipped, showing brilliant gold underneath.

You shake your head. Later. You'll think about them later. Not now.

You look down at your new arms - courtesy of the golden bangles - and you experimentally move them, trying out your range of movement and such. Despite you suddenly having robot gorilla arms made to punch deities' faces in and through the back of their heads, they actually feel light.

Certainly, there's an obvious weight to your movements now, but you're still balanced, and it barely takes any effort for you to move these gigantic slabs of superdense metal posing as your hands. You can even wiggle the fingers around, although there's a curious grinding sound as some of the joints scrape against each other. Not a totally unpleasant thing, all in all.

The best part, of course, is that nothing else seems to be happening. No voices, no strange visions, nothing of the sort.

Well, there's the bit about you suddenly being excited about punching things with these babies, but you can probably attribute that to having them in the first place.

"Ahaha, look at you, like little child unwrapping first present at Christmas Day and getting coming-of-age vodka!" Kharn brings you back to reality, a wide smile on her face as she leans against the shaft of the bigger of the two chainaxes, the smaller one slung onto her back. "You are not experiencing anything strange, yes? No strange voices out of nowhere, no mysterious sights?"

Well, not really, unless you count the sudden names--

"See?" Kharn shakes her head, chuckling. "That proves it, the procedure was a success. Of course, there is still memory issue to deal with, but...I think you are dealing with it very well, for someone who does not remember her past."

Both chainaxes spark as Kharn crashes them against each other, before crouching low, rows upon rows of monomolecular chainteeth resting against the canvas of the training mat as she prepares to spring. You blink at the sudden change of air in your supposed best friend, but choose to ignore it - instead stepping away from the rack in order to give yourself more room to charge. Both your gauntleted hands crunching into fists, flowers in reverse bloom. You crash them together as well, in mimicry of Kharn's - and you feel the ground underneath you tremble gently, in reply to the almost thunderous, bassy impact of the two metal fists colliding.

You promise to yourself that this next round will end up quite differently from the first.

Mainly with you punching Kharn into next week.
