The remaining heroes, regular guards and merchants that made up the caravan that killed your brother are quickly hunted down by your mother. Their barely recognisable bodies are dropped across the town as a demonstration of what happens to those who offend Goltyrsyx. This has resulted is a noticeable upswing in the number of would be heroes making attempts on the lair, but so far the kobold's traps have been enough to handle them. You continue to study with Thorom, progressing slowly through the notes he has on prepared magic.

>Longer term actions are: get more elves, travel further afield to acquire more loot (especially magical loot), find worthwhile slaves.

roll 3d20 and 1d5 for the number of years that pass before things get interesting again.

Rolled 1

Interesting.

>>22167241
Huh.
>>
>>22167163
We should capture some more experienced wizards among the adventurers to help us develop our skills.
>>
>>22167163
>Longer term actions are: get more elves, travel further afield to acquire more loot (especially magical loot), find worthwhile slaves.
There was also "subdue our sister into usefulness"
>>
>>22167278
If i remember right high was bad in this quest. I think we need to hold on to our draconic buts, we got level 20 PCs incoming...
>>
>>22167241
>>22167314

In this case high is good (this will generally be the case for long term actions you don't actively control).

>>22167163
How hot does our breath get ? Can it break or melt rocks ? What about iron ?
>>
>>22167341
>>22167314
I tfeared that it meant that 59 or 60 years had passed before something interesting happened.
>>
>>22167350
I think the 1d5 was the roll for the years.
>>
>>22167365
So the 19 and 2 crits were for our longer term actions?

Best roll I've ever done

Over the past year, your agents in Imgodidartak's lands have highly successful, with nineteen elves joining your growing colony. Non of them have particularly noteworthy skills, but they are familiar with some basic trades your settlement has so far been lacking. Three new births have also been reported, bringing your number of elven slaves up to an even seventy.

You have ventured further afield than usual in your quest for treasure. Most of your victims carried little of value, but one lightly armed individual carried an expensive looking amulet and a pair of daggers that are definitely enchanted. You can't tell what the amulet does yet, but it's certainly magical.

While returning from one such raid, you spot signs of a battle in progress. Circling overhead and keeping yourself between the battle and the sun, you observe the scene. Several poorly armed villagers and a few semi-professional looking soldiers have formed a shield wall and are advancing on a set of makeshift fortifications built around a rocky outcrop in the middle of a glade. A hail of darts shoots out from the fortifications, but the shield wall absorbs most of the fire. One of the militia is caught in the leg as the dart passes through his crude wicker shield. He yelp and immediately pulls the dart out as one of the more professional looking men screams at him to get back in formation. He stumbles back to the line, almost tripping over his feet by the time he reaches it. Two steps later, he topples forward, twitching faintly and foaming at the mouth. The rest of the line slowly moves together to cover the gap.

You catch sight of one of the figures in the fortifications. It's small, reptilian and clad in crude leather armour; a kobold. There are only a few of them from what you can see, but even a few kobolds can quickly become a lot of kobolds. You swoop down, blasting the largest concentration of humans with your breath. Half of them, including most of the actual soldiers, die immediately. The remaining half break and run. Excited chittering starts coming from the fortifications - you can pick out a few words of draconic, but most of it blends into noise.

The humans were all peasants or mediocre guardsmen, half of them are dead the other half are fleeing. Ignoring them for now, you approach the fortifications, slightly wary of the poisoned darts they're using. It is always possible they already work for another dragon, but it's unlikely they will attack you without explicit orders. One of the kobolds emerges from the fortifications, he looks bruised and bloodied, but his eyes are full of hope. More heads begin to emerge from behind walls and under logs.

Puffing yourself up slighly, and trying to sound as haughty and dignified as possible you speak to them. "Whom do you serve?"

There is more chittering from the gathered kobolds. The senior looking one who approached you gathers his thoughts for a moment them speaks. "Long time ago, we serve great green one called Ihkfedelom. But he die, many, many years ago, before any alive today were born." There is cringing and pathetic yowls from the other kobolds. The lead kobold pauses and you take the opportunity to make him an offer he's unlikely to refuse.
>>
"So you serve no-one. Fortunate, as I am in need of some servants," you tell him. Kobolds have an almost pathological need to serve dragons. Creation myths aside, you suspect they were originally created by a powerful wyrm as a slave race.

His eyes light up at this and there is more excited chittering from the crowd. "Yes! We serve you lord! We know many things about digging and trapping and crafting!" He's almost jumping up and down at this point.

A quick chat with what's left of the clan reveals there are 24 surviving kobolds. After the green they worked for was slain by a band of wandering heroes some forty years ago, their town in his lair was destroyed and looted. Forced to flee, they wandered from place to place within the forest, trying to establish a new lair in the hopes a dragon would come. After years of being picked off by wildlife or the elements, they managed to form a small village. Unfortunately, it was next to a human village and they immediately tried to exterminate the kobolds. Most of them ended up being slaughtered by the village and the few survivors had taken refuge in one of the old lookouts their ancestors had used when working for the green. The village has about one hundred and eighty inhabitants. It used to have around two hundred, but your pass on the militia killed twenty or so of them. Going by the stories they've excitedly told you, they've built 'the coming dragon' up to almost messianic proportions.

The kobolds are eager to serve and await your command. What do you want to do with them?
>>
>>22167618
Wonderful, we can always use kobolds, make sure we get all the information they have on the local area
>>
>>22167631
lets get them back home, we'll set them off in an area where mother dear won't annex them but close enough their on hand. we may even be able to set to work on a lair soon
>>
Repeat again in a louder more threatening voice "WHOM DO YOU SERVE?!"

Repeat until they get the hint.
>>
Where is it located ?
>>
>>22167631
Have we decided on a lair? if so we can set to work in its construction right away
>>
>>22167631

Does the nearby area look like it could be used as a lair? Could we question the kobolds where their former master lived, perhaps maybe claiming it for ourselves?
>>
Oh, nice. We should have them live with the elves for a moment, before we're sure we can bring them to the lair without losing them to mother. We should also find out where their old master's lair was. Maybe we could take it for ourselves.

The village, we should terrorize it, yes. If they really fear dragons that much, they will probably ask random adventurers to slay us, which should be good exercise for us. Considering their size, a powerful adventurer is unlikely to come.
>>
>>22167673
this is good idea, we can cover up the kobolds and ourselves with the elves, soon it will just seem a lonely area known for rather anti-social elves
>>
You are currently ~200km south-south-west of you mothers lair, in the small forest next to the mountains. Their old masters lair was thoroughly wrecked and looted and a significant portion of its dragon sized access points depended on being able to breath water.
>>
At some point it might be wise to relocate our elves out of our mother's lands to a place where they can expand more freely.

What are the prospects for lairs in the known lands? Perhaps something volcanic or rich in ore.
>>
>>22167696
Perhaps we could still use it as a temporary outpost, The forest is next to the mountains correct? we could use the old lair as a base camp while we built a new one
>>
>>22167665
>>22167673
I think it's not time yet to decide on a lair. We'd best spend some more years with our mother first.

We can still settle the kobolds at a strategic location. Actually, we probably should get them to join our elves. Both groups will benefit of the association and grow faster. When we have 50 or 100 kobolds, we'll move them to a new place where they can start improving their abilities and usefulness.

Can we carry 24 kobolds in flight ?
>>
Hows our struggling wizard doing?
>>
>>22167724
but of course, we still need to scout this area, we'll give the elves a few years to adapt to the kobolds and like wise the kobolds with the elves, just so long as they become used to coworking.
>>
I think we should move them back to our territory.
>>
>>22167717
we should look for something volcanic, it would fit our fire sub-type well, plus natural defences
>>
>>22167717
I think there's three strategic points where we could establish our kobolds.
The tip of the mountain range, or the low elevation part, to interrupt or build a trade route, and maybe start mining stuff.
Or the wood to the west, between the two black dragons. It's dangerous, but I want more information on this area.
In the long term, I think that killing the silver dragon and taking its lair will put us in the most strategically interesting position. We can build a kingdom in the plains, and start trading with the coastal cities and the northern islands. Lizardmen can be found on the coast, ultimately we might be able to conquer the blacks territory and get those too. I don't expect blacks to team up, while the bronze, copper and gold dragons south and east might. If we get our sister to help we'll kill them all.
>>
>>22167741

With that, how's morale, productivity, and loyalty among the elves?
>>
>>22167805
Forgot pic.
Anyway, that's mid- to long-term. For now we need the kobolds to multiply. Setting them up with the elves is best.

By the way, how did those kobolds live, while they were on their own ? Do they know how to farm ?
>>
>>22167654
I think they already came to that conclusion on their own.

Kobolds would probably make better factory workers than elves, all things considered.

Here's a map of your potential lairs so far.

1. At the base of the mountains. very little of note is out here, but there is what looks like a good spot for a town to be establish. It would still be fairly isolated and wouldn't see much trade.

2. The southernmost island. The economy is based on piracy, fishing and trading, generally in that order. There is a juvenile bronze in the area. There is little interest in it from the outside world as it is dirt poor.

3. The plains. Not much out here but nomads, but the steady flow of trinkets they could provide would mean a slow, safe way to build your hoard. It might be possible to civilise the region, it you'd be starting from scratch and the locals like raiding settlements.

A single question mark means you know there's a dragon but not it's age. Double means you aren't sure if there is a dragon.
>>
>>22167857
A bronze juvenile is weaker than we are correct?
>>
I'd like to explore more to the south first along the path of the mountain range.
>>
The kobolds know how to farm and all the basics involved in running a small settlement. The stuff they know how to grow underground is less than palatable, even if it is technically edible.
>>
>>22167887

What sort of skills do the elves have? Are they more suited to the forests, or would they do well in the plains?

A bunch of cowboy ranch elves could be pretty interesting.
>>
I'm liking the sound of the plains so far. Although I'll never be content until we have a volcano fortress next to a major shipping route and several cities.
>>
I vote we wait until we are a young adult and take control of Island #2. Could be a decent start to an empire.
>>
>>22167932

It seems like we would have relatively few natural resources there.

I like the idea of living on top of some kobold-worked precious metal mine.
>>
>>22167932

I don't think red dragons and water mix too well. That said I agree that we could maybe eventually form PIRATE ISLAND/CITY, the beginning of our nautical empire. PIRATE ISLAND rules the waves.

I want the plains because it gives us a lot with which to work with, and it's been stated that it's possible to tame and civilise the region under us. We can start our own elf/kobold kingdom
>>
>>22167887
Bring them to the elves. Order them to make children. Their activities shall be dedicated to give them the means to multiply faster.

Intervene regularily with our clerical powers to help them along. Try to make a bard of one of them to take over midwife duties.
>>
>>22167857
I'd still say the mountains, we're near a good area for mining, have some breathing room. Also it is not as though we cannot travel to conduct raids
>>
A juvenile bronze would be noticeably stronger than you, though it's only a decade or two older, so if you wait a bit you will start to overshadow them.

Larger maps will have to wait until next week, as they take a while to think up.

Elves always seem to prefer the forest, even when other locations would make more sense. Moral is somewhat erratic - these are not the most mentally healthy of elves. Most seem content to just try and get on with life, a few seem to almost worship you as their saviour (Hatherlan's wife is among them). If there is any discontent, it's well hidden.

Any decisions on what to do with the kobolds? You can carry all twenty four of them easily, they've even put together a crude gondola for the purpose.
>>
>>22167984
lets bring them back home, we can set them to work right away, then we should time skip five years to let things come together
>>
>>22167984
Have them join the elves and cooperate.
Try to do it discreetly. Just to see if we are able to do things without our motheer noticing.
>>
>>22167984
Yeah, bring them back to our village. Am I correct in assuming that by the time we become a young adult we will have the edge? Especially since in D&D 3.5 90+% of dragons are lazy and are content to let age increase their power.
>>
>>22167984
>>22167919
Where are the active volcanoes on this mountain range ?
>>
There are no active volcanoes nearby.

Take them back to the village it is.
>>
We may want to consider loaning out our magical items to loyal servants who will put them to good use.
>>
>>22168057
By the way, can our wizard help us identify that amulet ?
If not, find another one to do it.
>>
>>22168049
Yeah, and start to breed.
>>
Did we ever find out who those dragon hunters were? where they came from and if they had any friends or shit, stuff like that has a way of coming back to bite our tail. we've already seen an uptick in adventurers, I'd be willing to bet they had some form of association with the hunters
>>
>>22168175
It's been a year already. If someone's coming that didn't come yet, it can only be one of the adventurers' offspring. We're cool for 10 or 20 years.

As for the adventurers, they just heard dragons were causing trouble and probably came for their own reasons. They're dead anyway.
>>
>>22168277
even so the whole scenario just rubs me wrong. we should stay alert
>>
>>22168175

Yeah, they had friends. Mom took care of them.
>>
>>22168311
how many friends though? the clearly were not just the run of the mill adventurers, someone somewhere will undoubtedly be out to avenge them. it may not be for years but it will come. I advocate no path of action, simply that we keep this on the backs of our mind
>>
>>22168349
>the clearly were not just the run of the mill adventurers
They looked a lot like it.
>>
Would it be possible to cow that town of about 180 humans into serving us?

they seem suitably imprinted to fear a dragon.
>>
>>22168450
Eh, the problem with acquiring minions is that we need to move them out of our mother's territory when the time comes. Therefor we should focus on the fanatically devoted, like our kolbolds, and the desperate and loyal, like our elves.

Also, waiting on OP
>>
>>22168450
I don't think so. It would only get Temur to send a proper force to kick us out.
>>
>>22168477
this, we could likely find a number of humans who are desperate and would gladly serve us. that is for later however when we have the ability to change form, till then lets work on our elves and kobolds, both of whom are very ripe for cultivation to us
>>
We should focus on building a cult
>>
>>22168080
In fact, it would be a good idea to order the elves and kobolds to try to breed half-blood hybrids. Mainly because NG elves and LE kobolds don't usually stand reach other, so this breeding program would foster cross-cultural tolerance, but also because it's funny to imagine their efforts in bed.
>>
>>22168527
.... no
>>
>>22168527
no.

We will breed the elves with our superior draconic seed, then will do likewise with the kobold and anything else that is female, not with each other though... unless it would be hot
>>
hmmm

red half-dragon knightly order?
would be.... strange.
>>
>>22168634
we could make them more of a monastic order, it would explain their seclusion to outsiders and would make them better spies and assassins

The simple twig a branch basket the kobolds weaved to carry you in proved adequate, if rather heavy after more than an hours flight. You direct them to one of the high points near to the village and set them to work establishing a settlement of their own within it. Kobolds do not do well out in the open. You take Zakik, their chief, to see your elves and to explain the situation to them.

"Forgiveness Great One, but I not understand why you need the no-eared long-ears. Kobolds work harder and not waste time with singing and playing. Kobolds make sure that all things they do is useful." You aren't sure how their dialect of draconic ended up so mangled in only forty years. It seems to be a common problem with wild kobolds. Or perhaps the green was just too lazy to teach them.

"These are not the typical elves of the forest. They've had much of the usual frivolities tortured out of them by a neighbouring dragon. He was crude well past the point of stupidity in the way he treated them, but they no longer seek to waste their time on poetry and frolicking, as most elves tend to. Now they dedicate their time to serving me. Granted, they aren't as loyal as your kind tend to be, but you have the advantage of instinctive knowledge of draconic superiority. Besides, they belong to me, why waste an asset?"

He considers this for before speaking. "Old Ihkfedelom saying are that he not take people as hoard. He say they fet old and die to quickly to be worth effort. Gold and jewels lasts forever." He has yet to let go of the habits of his tribes former master, even though he died long before he was born.

"True, but they also tend to be self replenishing. Besides, I am not Ihkfedelom," you reply.

He bows his head at this. "Of course, Great One."
>>
>>22168570
Speaking of which, how's our plan to seduce our sister into obedience progressing? We could send a couple of our kobolds to her as a gesture of goodwill and to spy on her. We need to know what makes her tick, what are her turn-ons and turn-offs etc.
>>
You arrive at the village, the elves stop what they are doing and kowtow to you, as is now the custom. It makes a nice change from your mother's insistence that her own servant bow so low they fold in half at the waist. It makes it clear that they are yours. You recognise the lead elf who approaches you, despite the veil he now wears. Most of your elves have taken to covering their faces. They say they dislike being reminded by their scars of their time under Imgodidartak. A few refuse to cover them, saying the scars are part of their history and should not be ignored.

"Hatherlan," you greet their leader. "This is Zakik, one of my newest servants. He and his tribe will be living in the rise north-west of here." Zakik nods to the lead elf, who nods back, neutrally.

"Where is Thorom?" You ask.

Hatherlan pauses for a moment. "He's been going over the notes he took during your studies with him, Great One. He says he think there might be a way use your magic to prepare a spell, without actually drawing on the-"

"Bring him here, I have something for him to examine."

Thorom arrives a few minutes later. "Can I help you Great One?" He says the title with less reverence that most. The elves likely learned to at least sound sincere when addressing dragons and the kobolds practically worship dragons to begin with. When he says it, it just sounds like a normal title. He's probably just copying the elves to try and fit in, but hasn't quite manage to make it sound like he really means it. Though, as you've made it clear you have no interest in harming him, he doesn't really have much reason to force himself to learn.

"What can you tell me about these three items." You have Zakik hand over the two daggers and the amulet. Thorom eyes the kobold suspiciously for a second before taking them. Zakik just grins back.
>>
>>22168527
Elves are usually CN. But our elves are more PTSD than anything else.
I think they'll get along with the kobolds. If they don't, we'll order them to get along and they will obey.
And of course, crossbreeds can't happen without considerable magical help.
>>
He carefully examines the two blades. "Well, these two are simple enough. They each have a second tier general enchantment on them. They would be almost impossible to destroy without magic, could cut through most weaker armour and could counter magical defenses to a degree." He stops and looks at the amulet, examining the detailed engravings and feeling how the chain attaches. "This though? I'm not sure. I'll have to look over it tonight. I should have an answer by tomorrow, even it's just 'I don't know'."

"Then I will return tomorrow. Hatherlan said you had some findings concerning my magic being able to prepare a spell?" He nods at this. "Then I will examine your findings on that as well, when I return."

You walk out of the village to avoid causing damage to the fragile, temporary shacks your new slaves are living in. On the way you hear them discussing something concerning Imgodidartak. You stop and listen.

The small group of elves are clustered around each other. Most are half dazed, something quite common in recent recruits who are still getting used to theri new lives. One of them continues to speak. "He just killed them. Elethina, Joranis and Karanas. He didn't even taunt them like usual he just-" they notice you're paying attention to them and immediately cower, dropping to their knees before you.

The one who had been speaking starts pleading with you. "Forgiveness, G-Great one, w-we didn't-"

"You do not need to fear me," you say, in as relaxed a manner as possible. They probably should fear you, but given their mental state it's best not to remind them of that. "What has Imgodidartak been doing that is unusual?"
>>
The elf seems almost confused as he realises you aren't going to kill him for some imagined slight. "Um, w-well, about a week ago, when the hate was out hunting, a group of animals came out of the forest - they were not behaving like normal animals, they were crazed. They fought his guardians for a while, then fled. When the poisonous hate returned, he was furious - moreso than I have ever seen. He killed many of us, I don't know why." He avoid making eye contact throughout this, almost expecting you to kill him there and then for not being able to tell you what you want to know.

You consider this for a moment. "Very well, if you learn of anything new with regards to his activities, tell Hatherlan and tell him I want to hear about it." The elf is quite surprised that that is the end of the matter.

As you pick up Zakik to return him to his tribe, you overhear one of you elves discussing something with him.

"We will visit tomorrow, friend. If you have anything you need help with, don't hesitate to ask. All slaves of the red saviour should work together for his greater purpose." The elf seems quite exited to be talking to him for some reason. Zakik just nods and walks towards you.

"What was that about?" you ask.

"Some of your elfs are smarter than other - know how world works," he exclaims happily.

Upon returning to the main lair - an increasingly rare even these days - you catch sight of your mother's hoard. In it, you recognise several items similar to those you know to be in possession of the green. Which would explain why he's so angry.
>>
>>22168672
we shall not say anything to mother, but will begin to have more elves taken out of greens way. he will think they either died from mum or he killed them already. also let see what shes up to now
>>
>>22168672
If need be we can spin this to the elves that we are taking a more active stance against old green
>>
>>22168654

You won't be able to seduce her due to psychological blocks to prevent inbreeding. Dragons are pretty resistant to inbreeding as they have to deal with a much smaller population that most, but brother/sister is closer than they can get away with, or would be willing to resort to.
>>
>>22168728
Aww shucks, seems we have to resort to rape then. She's weaker than us, right?
>>
>>22168728

Fair enough, but perhaps we can work on building the dragon-sibling bond a little. So that when we both move out of Mom's lair, we can strike some sort of mutually-beneficial non-aggression deal with our sister if she settles in a neighboring territory.

Having the powerbase we worked hard to build diminished due to sibling rivalry as a result of Sis moving in next door wouldn't do at all.
>>
>>22168694
I'd say he already knows what we've been doing, we should see about getting refugees out, old green should be on quite the warpath
>>
>>22168728
fine by me.
>>
To clarify, you can see several things in your mother's hoard that are supposedly part of the green's. Considering that his lair was recently raided by a bunch of charmed animals and he has been incredibly pissed off ever since, it seems likely she stole them from him.
>>
>>22168780
...Shut up before you scare away OP.

Our sis doesn't seem to have the temperament to be an effective ruler. I vote we let her get in over her head somewhere and then offer her an out, as our subordinate.
>>
>>22168844
Well then, we should be able to lure many more elves out, carefully of course
>>
>>22168844
then clearly we should wait until he has his showdown with the brass, since mommy just framed him. Then we get as many of the elves out as we can, before Mommy tries to make the rest her minions.
>>
>>22168728
>brother/sister is closer than they can get away with
Get away from who ? Do other dragons care to the point of intervening ?

>>22168785
I think we should add her to our powerbase. By subduing her, manipulating her, or by making her actually want to help us out of affection (fat chance), the way doesn't matter much.
I want to take out another dragon when we establish our adulthood lair, and we'll need her power then.
>>
>>22168885
give the old girl her due, that was a clever plan, and it stirs the pot in a way I like
>>
>>22168889
I'm pretty sure OP is just saying NOPE. Which is fine, as the obsession with our sis was kinda creepy. Lets just find a vulnerable young metallic and seduce her.
>>
Anything specific to do next?

if not then we timeskip a few months (1d6).
>>
>>22168889
Yeah, we should rule as two kings, the dreadful dragon twins! (even though we actually aren't twins)
>>
>>22168780
>>22168785

Why, exactly, are we considering detente with her in the first place? Because I can see two plausible paths before us; a Lawful Neutral tyrant, or a Lawful Evil tyrant. They are largely the same except in how vindictive and malevolent we are when crossed. Either way, our sister is visibly a brute and an idiot, with a heavy tendency towards our regular racial alignment of chaotic evil. She is not reliable. In fact, she's already trying to backbite us with claiming that fighter's death as her own; she's a shit manipulator, but left unchecked she can still bugger us.

Whether we stretch or break the mold of our birth, she is only a temporary asset that we WILL have to liquidate, and soon. There are only advantages to come from murdering her; it makes us the sole descendant of her dynasty (at least in this generation) which means we cannot be punished in retribution lest our mother's position be weakened for lack of any survivable offspring, and without our troublesome sister, we have significantly less to fear of a knife in our back when we move out.

tl;dr dear sister has to die sooner or later. We should start making plans for an assassination. Lessening her in the eyes of our mother would be a good start; any ideas to this end? Perhaps we could have one of our more roguish 'bolds steal something from her horde, and something from his, and place each into the other's, forcing an ill-fated confrontation sure to leave both crippled AND our mother losing patience with her aggression and stupidity?

>>22168844
Quite aware, OP. I suggest we increase our elf-smuggling slightly, since he'll be distracted in his vindictive rage, and figure out how to shelter them properly and safely out of reach. They're fucked if the Poisonous Hate tracks them down, and we'll be out a useful bunch of slaves. We should also figure out what our sister's doing... Actually, do we know what her current standing is with mother?
>>
>>22168927

>>
>>22168927
Send sis a breeding pair of kobolds as a gift.
>>
>>22168927

>>
Yes, it should be possible to steal an entire settlement, if the Green dragon is busy with Mother. We bring someone with us to speak good of our will, then move everybody.

Or we team up with mother dearest and try to steal some gold too. In the next growth stage, we could possibly team up and kill him.
>>
>>22168959
this, then forget her until something interesting comes up, have the kobolds keep an eye on her
>>
>>22168866
>Our sis doesn't seem to have the temperament to be an effective ruler. I vote we let her get in over her head somewhere and then offer her an out, as our subordinate.

This works too. If Sis is not really cut out for leadership, she would probably do well as our captain or soldier....with the possibility of eliminating her if she gets to be too much trouble.

from >>22168785
>>
>>22168952
I want her as her dumb brute self. Our little attack dog.
>>
>>22168927
Prepare the elves and kobolds to fight and flee. Trap the forest, buy them weapons and train them, prepare a refuge in the mountains or deeper in the forest.

Train our magic with thorom further.

Scout out bandit bands on the other side of the mountains. I want human agents.
>>
Very nice. Our elves are getting a little new religion in them.
>>
>>22168991
This dog will inevitably turn rabid. It cannot be trained, it cannot be befriended, I doubt that she can even be housebroken. A ticking timebomb.
>>
>>22168959
That's a bad idea. She won't be thankful, and we don't want her or mom to know we have kobolds.
>>
>>22168972
Team up with mom to try to take the green down, gain loot. Having slaves is fine and all, but it's last not the same thing as having gold and shinies. It's a prestige thing, after all.
>>
>>22169009
Why would she turn rabid ? She's rash, but still rational.
We're the bigger dog anyway. We'll just keep an eye on her.
>>
>>22169017

>>
So it's prepare to steal all of the elves and to evacuate the forest if need be and talk to Goltyrsyx to fin out what's going on. While this is going on, try and get some human agents.

I'll leave your sister for another update, as there's still ongoing discussion.

That's exactly the problem. She has the barest amount of rationality combined with her blunt, malevolent stupidity. I think we should agree to disagree for the time being, as we only need keep an eye on her for now.

>>
>>22169081
>She has the barest amount of rationality combined with her blunt, malevolent stupidity.
That's harsh.
But regardless, her dangerosity is what makes her useful. She's an unwieldy but effective weapon. We'll just have to become a weaponmaster. We can't rely on easy schemes, weak slaves and our own power. See whatgood it did to our kobolds' former master.
> I think we should agree to disagree for the time being, as we only need keep an eye on her for now.
I want to beat the idea that she can do better without us out of her head. Better start soon.

The fight with the green is a good occasion, if it is coming.

One little thing I want to do now is to start playing chess, or the draconic equivalent, with her. And consistently beat her.
>>
I think our sister has the most use for us if her lair is pretty far from ours and we manage to stay in a semi-decent relationship. Sure, there won't be any trust, sure, we will have to pay out of our ass if we want her help, but alone the ability to gain additional muscle increases our options. We want to have as many options as possible.

In short, we need some sort of grudging respect, a strained neutrality, between us. Each needs to be of use for the other. Never forget that we are red dragons though, close alliances will never work out because our egos are far too big.
>>
>>22169144
That won't work out because our sister is so fucking arrogant that loosing at something as trivial as a game would mean nothing to her besides short term rage and long term hatred against us.

She is a dragon. You cannot become the master of a dragon without excessive violence or powerful magic.

Just now we dont have the resources to make sis into a slave or underling.
>>
>>22169149
>>22169175
we just need to brake her ego.

The draconic pride train has no brakes.
>>
>>22169175
>She is a dragon. You cannot become the master of a dragon without excessive violence or powerful magic.
Playing chess and winning certainly won't make her our slave. But it goes a small way in convincing her that we're superior. Hate is fine. It's a feeling that will make her more easily manipulable.
She's not infinitely arrogant. She agreed to work with us on several occasions.

I think we can beat her into being our servant with reasonable (for a dragon) amounts of violence and psychological pressure.
>>
>>22169216

The seven new elves you've acquired from Imgodidartak say he has calmed down substantially over the last five months and has been working on something secret. Your spy network is threadbare, but you can get enough contacts to learn that most of the elves are to cowed and terrified of retribution to do anything that might get his attention. This means convincing them to join you isn't a realistic option. However, it might be possible to forcibly remove from his lands if you can convince them they have been ordered to. Your spies say they have a reasonably trustworthy agent with relatively high authority who might be able to convincingly order a large number of elves to flee. None of them know how many are likely to come, neither are they certain that their agent could manage it at all.

Fortunately, your kobolds have discovered an underground river beneath the eastern forest. They haven't finished exploring all of it, but it looks like it leads most of the way to the foothills of the mountains. You could have the entire population underground and on their way in about ten minutes if you gave the order.

You asked your mother what was going on with the green and were told to mind your own business. The five human bandits you tried to bribe into your service have yet to re-emerge. It's almost as if they don't expect a red dragon to keep it's word and pay them - or to not dismember them.

As you are returning from your latest foray south of the mountains, you catch sight of an unfamiliar form gliding over the foothills. You haven't seen the dragon before, but you recognise him by description: Imgodidartak. His current course will take him within a few kilometers of your slaves village. After that he will pass into the northern plains, where your mother tends to spend the day hunting and terrorising humans. You can outpace his current speed if you try and know the land well enough that you can keep terrain between you and him for now.

What do you do?
>>
>>22169216
See, and that arrogance on our part (thinking that we are inherently superior to her) will make her hate us even more. She will never (not without very good rolls) admit that she isn't the best of the litter, you can see it in how she reacted after our attack on the caravan.

Even though we did almost all the work she claimed it as her win because she killed the fighter and we got a bit more wounded than her.

That isn't rational. She isn't rational. Trying to convince her with violence and psychology will only make her react with more violence, and we aren't phyisically superior enough that we could hold her down without effort. She might even have a chance at killing us if she catches us in one unlucky spot.

Yeah, she claimed that. To our mother.

It's rational to try and convince people that you're important when you're expected to but can't really deliver.
Take a look at politicians.
>we aren't phyisically superior enough that we could hold her down without effort. She might even have a chance at killing us if she catches us in one unlucky spot.
We can get yet more physically superior with training. I bet we are magically superior.

Let her hate us, attack us, and lose. Make sure we're prepared and watching her.

You race back to the elven village, barely avoiding crossing paths with Imgodidartak as he changes course to take advantage of the updrafts from a nearby ridge. You circle the village and immediately below orders.

"Head for the passage. Now! Imgodidartak id heading this way." This is less effective than you desire. While many of them follow your instructions (albeit in a rather panicked manner), a large number simply panic. Some collapse, hyperventilating, other just curl up into a ball and wail. Those who are still coherent manage to drag off most of them, but they are forced to leave ten behind, unable to carry them all fast enough. The only upside is that your more fanatical followers seem to be holding together better than average. While having something to cling onto fanatically doesn't exactly help their mental health, it has at least papered over the cracks.

You briefly consider grabbing the amulet of invisibility from Thorom, but you don't have time. You don't have time to risk carrying the remaining ten elves either. Imogodidark could pass overhead at any moment. You head north and land on a small hill that lets you see the area surrounding the village, taking care to hide in the bushes so you can't be seen from the air.

A few minutes later Imgodidartak passes overhead. He sees the village and swoops down to investigate. You lose sight of him for a few minutes as he drops beneath the treeline, but them he reappears and resumes his flight in the direction of the northern plains. A few minutes later, you take off once more, flying over the village. It has been destroyed. The buildings are smashed and partially dissolved, while the ten elves that were left behind have had their limbs ripped off at the knee and elbow and their eyes gouged out. They will probably die shortly without help.

What do you do?

Attempting to beat Imgodidartak to you mother, you divert away slightly. Hopefully you will be able to gain altitude and soar most of the way, thus avoiding getting exhausted by the time you get there. If it works, you'll keep far enough away that he can't see you, while occasionally dipping close to his flightpath to make sure he is going where you think he's going. Unfortunately, the headwinds have other ideas. Unable to outrun him at altitude, you're forced to stick close to the ground where the wind is slower. The wind close to Imgodidartak seems to be favourable, but you can't risk getting close to him and you haven't been able to overtake him yet. Straining to keep slightly above what you think is his speed, you continue your flight to Goltyrsyx.

After what feels like the longest flight you've ever endured, you catch sight of Goltyrsyx. She's soaring across the plains, occasionally circling over the villages, solely to make them wonder if she's going to attack. Imgodidartak is nowhere in sight. You begin your ascent, hoping to warn her before he does show up.
>>
Shortly before you can reach her, your senses twinge, powerful magic is being cast. Your mother feels it too, her head snapping towards a region of apparently empty sky. She does this just in time for a thin band of transparent material to emerge from thin air. The air ripples as the the spell is cast, revealing Imgodidartak. The band of material splits as it approaches Goltyrsyx, wrapping her in a thin, almost transparent web. As the web wraps tighter it coils around her wings, forcing them against her body and she begins to plummet. You see Imgodidartak grin at her and discard a slowly disintegrating scroll.

Cursing at Imgodidartak, she tries to dispel the web. The spell ignores her attempts and she continues to fall. Despite being a capable spellcaster, even more so than the average red, she has never bothered to learn flight based spells, seeing them as pointless for a dragon. Imgodidartak turns towards you. You glances back at the still-falling Goltyrsyx before grinning at you. You still have quite a bit of distance between you, but he's faster in a sprint.

What do you do?

If she falls from that height, she's toast.
>>
>>22170117
Flee for your life, there's nothing we can do here!
>>
Let me run through our combat options:
1. Hand to hand: He's stronger than us, and we have no way to bypass his tough hide.
2. Spells. Now we are talking. Best options here are RAy of enfeeblement (Dragons suck against touch spells, we drain strength) or color spray, because that's always a good option.
>>
>>22170198
color spray, he's strong but dumb as an ox
>>
>>22170117

Hit him with Ray of Enfeeblement and then see if we can free Mother. If not, then we need to fly for our lives.
>>
>>22170212
Are you kidding me? He is likely smarter and a better mage than us. He is older, after all.
>>
>>22170198
lets go with the ray, he's already high on pride
>>
>>22170212
actually, the more obscure but better option is Ray of clumsiness. Its a first level touch spell that drains dexterity, which dragons have damn little of to begin with. I'd prefer to use shivering touch but that's a that's a third level spell (Also, we would probably one shot the guy.)
>>
>>22170295
sounds good

let him get close then blast him

So it's try and avoid him, while hitting him with ray of enfeeblement and possibly colour spray.

Your spells are limited to the srd stuff for now (Thorom doesn't have access to the more exotic ones and you have a limited selection of sorcerous one).
>>
>>22170198
>>22170212
Color spray is shit against 5HD+ monsters. In fact, nothing we have is going to hurt him, better just to flee. Sucks for mom, though.
>>
Oh man oh man, I just got into this quest and don't know what the hell is going on, but it sure is interesting!

Anyone got a summary?
>>
We probably cant do anything for mother as is, shes old enought to get herself out of this mess, the web will probably be flamed or broken by pure strength.

Ascend, the one thing all flying battles is this: those higher up have an advantage. we can easily rain down spells to distract him if were above him. So long as we can keep him occupied long enought for mother to get loose. And if all turns sour we can dive to gain speed running away.

Our flame breath will let us ascend faster than hes capable of (hot air under the wing).
>>
>>22170323
So, we don't have a chance at saving mother? Sucks.

>>
Rolled 2, 7 = 9

>>22170323
I say afterwords we try to burn the web. Mom is fire resistant, so it won't hurt her, and hopefully the spell will be weakened or broken by our cleansing fire.
>>
For reference, the spell she was hit with was this: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20031116a&page=5
>>
>>22170441
True. But I just thought we were buying mom a few seconds to get herself out of there, and in the process weakening the dragon a bit. That Ray will smart a lot if he gets caught in melee with Mommy.
>>
>>22170517
lets hit the fucker with the ray, district him until the spell ends
>>
>>22170489
The green is a brute and in it for blood now, I don't think that he'll listen. Besides, there's not much to negotiate about, is there? He wantd mom dead and her hoard, there's nothing to be gained for him not to kill us (and sis).
>>
>>22170580

If he's arrogant enough, feigned capitulation might buy us a few minutes for mom to gather her strength while he strokes his ego.

But hopefully the ray will do something.
>>
>>22170630
only as last resort, I'd say taunt him into chasing us, his rage is his master and a poor decision maker

Fuck, he's right. We have to stop or at least slow her descent. Can we grab on to her and flap enough to slow her to a non-lethal speed?
>>

>>
>>22170700
>>22170685
I say we flee now that green is occupied with mom, let's get some distance between us and uncle hate rape here. Besides, falling damage gets capped at 20 d6, she can totally take it.
>>
>>22170748
Can we cast that? Since one can escape the net via escape artist check it might work... Of course, we would need to overcome mothers considerable spell resistance.
>>

We'll flee with mom. If we abandon her now, even if she survives the fall, she's going to be helpless. If we don't at least get her out of that web, she's as good as dead.

Willing targets dont get affected by resistance do they? so long as she understands wtf were doing it should be fine. still need to get past big evil git first.

You immediately veer off, diving to gain as much speed as possible. Imgodidartak follows you, lazily gliding and waiting to see what you do. You level off after gaining some speed and distance. Imgodidartak begins his run, a predatory gleam in his eyes. You continue to try to keep as much distance between him and you as possible, but he's still closing. Five hundred metres, four hundred, three hundred - you start to prepare to cast enfeeblement on him. I won't last long, but it might slow him down enough. Two hundred, one hundred - now! The spell leaps from your claws, crossing the terrifyingly small distance between you and the elder green. It hits his right primary pectoral and holds for a second, before breaking loose as his spell resistance counters it. He's only a few metres away now. Thinking quickly, you pour power into one of your remaining prepared spells. Painfully bright light flashes from your palm, Imgodidartak snarls in pain as he's forced to blink.

You immediately rotate your wings vertically, using them as a drogue to put distance between the two of you. He strikes out blindly, guessing at what you're doing and the blow connects with your tail. Pain shoots through you as his claws dig in and are torn loose again. Nothing was broken, but you have several deep gashes running down your tail. You dive again, trading altitude for time and distance. Imgodidartak circles around lazily, knowing time is on his side here. He glares at you for a second, sneering, before exploding into a second run. You have a few seconds before he reaches you. Goltyrsyx has almost reached the ground now, still trapped in the web of force. She is casting a spell you don't recognise.

Same as before, or something different?

We could try the reduce person spell on Goltyrsyx. Might work.

Considering Imgodidartak we need to gain height and try to blind him with our breath attack. I'm don't know what spells we have left, but we should throw whatever we still have at him.
>>
well, what does he not expect us to do?

Is their anyway to use some kind of explosion/fire spell to fire us upwards fast? wede have to wait for his dive to come close, and make sure hes not directly above us, if we can get above and behind him we can cause some problems for him. Dig our claws in on his back and attack his wings.

still depends on if we can suddenly shoot up and over him using our wings and a spell.

Imgodidartak races towards you once again, a gleeful look on his face. You know he won't fall for the same trick twice and attempting to use your spells on him is likely doomed to failure. You stare him in the eye, waiting until the last possible second, then you unleash your breath. He's prepared for it, of course. He came here to Goltyrsyx and would have to be insane not to take precautions against fire. But the momentary flames temporarily obscure his view of you. He continues his run, believing you thought this might distract him. You close you wings and plummet. he sails overhead, snapping at thin air, while you recover and start flying in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

You see Goltyrsyx get within moments of hitting the ground, when clouds explode from her claws, filling the air beneath her. She hits the conjured cloudbank and vanishes into it in an instant. She'd always mocked anyone for suggesting that spells like featherfall could be useful for a dragon. "Why waste time learning to cast something you can already do," she would tell you, when asked. Even with her immense pride, you don't doubt she'll reconsider that view now, if she survives.
>>
Imgodidartak circles a few times, glaring at you imperiously, almost as if your continued existence is an insult. He looks like he's lining up for another run when he pauses. He's noticed the fog where Goltyrsyx has landed and immediately turns away from you to investigate. It makes sense. She's the major threat in this battle, not you. He can afford to come back and kill you later. You'd feel insulted if you weren't so relieved.

Still there's no way of knowing just what state Goltyrsyx is in. You can't see her through the thick clouds and Imgodidartak is rapidly closing in on her. If she's dead, there's nothing stopping him from coming back for another go at you. If she's alive, she might need time to recover. At least this time you have the advantage he will be trying to get there as fast as possible. Every moment he delays is another potential healing spell applied. He might ignore you if you don't slow him down too much - or he might not.

What do you do?

>>

Clip one of his wings. Swing back around and slash that shit to bits, making as long a rent as possible with tooth or claw. Hell, if we have horns and spines at this age, we could probably just do a corkscrew and slash his shit with our back before turning back upright and gliding off. If need be or we miss, hit him in the face with another blast and veer away.

Spells won't work because he's magic resistant, but his wings shouldn't be too tough to penetrate.

Running away will kill us in what defines us as a RED dragon. We might have been able to get away, but we won't be able to be a true red dragon.

Imgodidartak continues his descent towards your mother. Fortunately, you were between the two of them, so catching up is not much of an issue. Unfortunately, your dive has left you much lower than him. You veer off to the side so your flightpaths don't cross and start climbing hard. You climb over him quickly as he dives towards the ground and quickly start lining up your run. Imgodidartak continues to dive towards the fog cloud, ignoring you as he goes. You start to drop towards him, lining up to hit his right wing. He continues to drop down towards Goltyrsyx, you continue to dive. During the last few seconds you alomst overshoot him and turn you steep dive into a near freefall. He still hasn't noticed you.

A the last second, you cast true strike. He feels the magic being drawn on, but it's too late for him to change course. The spell guides you into the wrist of his right wing at nearly 100 kilomtres per hour. The impact is so hard it feels like you might be about to break your own wrists and when you feels something pop, you think you might have. The howl of pain and rage tells you your strike was effective - and whose wrist actually broke. Spreading your wings and pulling up you see Imgodidartak start to tumble, his right wing flopping uselessly. He spirals down, using his good wing to try and keep control of his fall and guide him closer to Goltyrsyx. At the last second he casts featherfall, floating down the last few dozen metres.
>>
He runs the last few hundred meters towards the artificial fog, knowing he won't get another chance at this. He glares hatefully at you along the way. He won't make the mistake of ignoring you again. He soon reaches the fog and stops for a moment to try and see what is inside it. As he pushes against it the, fog pours around his arm, acting more like water than air. That would explain why she cast the spell, but hitting water at that speed isn't much different to hitting rock. It's somewhat more survivable - for a dragon, at least, but not a sure thing.

Until our dear idiot sister comes and tries to muscle us out, if not kill us outright. Or the surrounding dragons tear our territory apart piecemeal. Great plan, anon.
>>
so have we decided to circle in the air and observe the battle a little longer? OP
>>
>>22172181

Agree. We should keep our distance for now, but be ready to act. His SR is the biggest obstacle to our spellcasting, but some more buff spells for us and Mother might be in order. The true strike for the wing attack was perfect.
>>
>>22172514
Just because she is CE doesn't mean she doesn't expect us to help her. Remember, CE means basically completely selfish. She doesn't measure herself with the same stick she measures others. For DARING to leave her behind she would have to teach us a lesson.

Not to mention that we don't know anything about the defences of the Greens lair. The elves that knew where immediatly snatched by mom.
>>
>>22172535

Wouldn't put it past Sister to try and take credit for our sneak attack on the Green if we run or raid the green's lair.

A red arm emerges from the fog, claws digging into the greens flesh. He tries to jump back but her grip is too strong and he only succeeds in tearing his latest wounds even further. Goltyrsyx springs out of the fog fast. She tries to clamp her jaws around his throat, but he manages to swing far enough to the side that she misses.

You get a good look at your mother. The wingbind is still in effect, though both her wings are clearly broken now. Her left hindleg is also broken and she has numerous cuts across her belly. Unsurprisingly, she's angrier than you have ever seen her before. Even Duskin's death wasn't enough to trigger the sheer unbridled hate her look is directing at the green.
>>
She tries for the throat again, keeping hold of Imgodidartak's arm, but he's quicker. He manages to latch his jaws onto the back of her neck at lets loose a burst of poisonous acid. Goltyrsyx howls in pain as the fumes was h over the back of her neck. She hauls him to the side and rolls, using her superior weight to pin him. She grabs his neck with her free forepaw while using her good hindleg to rake his abdomen, gouging out thick gashes with her claws. Imgodidartak still won't let go. You see Goltyrsyx start casting a spell, Imgodidartak clearly recognises it as he redoubles his efforts in an attempt to disrupt her. He fails and you feel the spell pull away his magical protections. Goltyrsyx immediately directs a burst of flame down at his gut. The flames hit the surrounding grassland and, with nowhere to go, engulfs the duo. You can hear Imgodidartak's scream clearly through the roaring flames. By the time the fire clears, Goltyrsyx is sitting on to of Imgodidartak, jaws around his throat, attempting to chew through his neck. She soon hits something vital and blood begins to spurt from the growing wound. In less than a minute the green is clearly dying, but she continues to chew. A minute later, he is dead. Goltyrsyx continues to chew through his neck until his head is fully severed. Though severely injured, she has won.

>>22172591
Now that you mentioned Sneak attack i am trying to imagine a Great Wyrm with 20 levels as a rogue. It would be glorious.
>>
>>22172607
healing spells or whatever we can do
>>
The wingbind finally faded while Goltyrsyx was decapitating the green. It will likely be a few days before she can heal her wounds to the point she can fly back to the lair.

She looks at you for a second before motioning you over.

"You managed to hold that worm off then." It is not a question. She seems to more than a little surprised that you managed it. You are too.

She looks down at the corpse of Imgodidartak, before returning her gaze to you. "Let that be a lesson to you. Even the most pathetic of beings stand a chance to defeat the strongest of opponents if they have luck and surprise on their side."

You end up being told to bring several of her kobolds out to the scene of the fight. She tells you it's to help harvest Imgodidartak's corpse, but you suspect she needs some medical attention from them. It would take her several days to heal her injuries on her own and it's unlikely she wants to walk home, injured as she is.
>>
>>22172607
Help heal her, discuss loot division.
>>
Land and heal? shes going to want us to go fetch her minions at any rate so we might as well.
>>
>>22172630
Do as told, fly back to lair and get kobolds. Do we know any healing spells?
>>
She wouldn't accept a hug (and it wouldn't be very Redlike), I'm sure, so just give her an awed stare of approval.
>>
>>22172630
Fetch the kobolds and then... we have two choices.

Either we leave her to lick her wounds in private and check on our servants, or we try to help her. I'm not sure mother dearest would like us doing either option, though.

I don't think we should sneak into Imgodidartak's lair yet. Let things calm down, maybe see what our agents can do.
>>
Make sure that by the time she is thinking about it all of the elves work for us. Should be easy if we point out the respective taxation rates.
>>
>>22172630

OOC: did Mom actually praise us? AAHAHAHAHA suck it Sister!!

Use any cure spells we have left on her and then do as she says.

"Understood, Mother." Time to play the red-dragon-equivalent of the good son.
>>
Congratulate mom, ask for a share of the spoils. Demand a part of the green's corpse, considering that you drew first blood it's only fair.
>>
>>22172654
I like this. Also, make sure to visit our and Imgodidartaks elves as soon as possible. If they find out Imgodidartak is dead they might try to make a run for it, we need to get as many of them as possible under our wing.
>>
She is injured. Kill her while she's weak and unsuspecting.
>>
Lets take The Poison Hates head back to the elves, make them bow to us. there is a power vacuum that need be filled, and right now these elves are in a state that is highly susceptible to propaganda
>>
>>22172679
Say you want his heart, consume it to gain his power.
>>
>>22172676
Shouldn't we cure ourselves first? It seems the red dragony thing to do...
>>
>>22172702
his heart and his head, eat his heart in front of the elves after bringing his head to them, not many better displays of power, also do as mother told. see if we can convert more elves now that old green is dead
>>
Do as mother says, tell OUR current elves what happened, and tell them to go gather all their bretheren and anything they can carry to the village.

We dont need to be there in person, playing the good son will put us in good stead with mother.
>>
You don't think she'd be willing to accept healing from you, she's currently nursing a bruised ego and having another dragon help her - even ones she's related to, wouldn't go down well.

There won't be any more updates tonight. I'll start the next session off with a timeskip if you can agree on what to focus on (1-10 years or so). I'll still be watching the thread for an hour or so, so I'll ask you to roll once there's some agreement. Don't be too slow as we're in autosage.

As always, suggestions and criticism are welcome.
>>
>>22172630
"Yes, mother. But, I wish you hadn't ended him quite so quick. I had a slow, ironic end in mind for him after seeing the pointless cruelties inflicted on his loyal servants... May I ask a favor? Before you butcher him, I'd like to show my servants his shattered corpse. Place his head on a stake, maybe. I believe it would have a wondrous effect toward ensuring their loyalty to the 'Red Saviour' and his matron, hm?"
>>
>>22172699
Yeah, his head would make for an useful trophy.
>>
>>22172730
Focus: Taking over green's territory as our own powerbase.
>>
>>22172724

I agree with you.

from >>22172676
>>
>>22172730
make sure we bring some trophies back to the elves, then have them inform the relations in greens former territory who they work for now. focus on building up our kobolds. get ready for our inevitable departure
>>
>>22172720
Actually I think that dragon's power lies in their genitalia, consuming his testicles before the elves would send an even stronger message.

For timeskip:
1. Acquire the rest of the elves.
2. Work on slowly subverting our sister into our minion.
3. Work with Spellcaster to acquire more magical knowledge.
4. Train Like a PC. (Pic related)
>>
>>22172759
I disagree. We want to be as far away from mum as possible. She is far too dangerous to have in the neighborhood.
>>
>>22172803
why not both? after we put old greens skull on a pole in the center of the village
>>
Hurry to his lair, pick the bgest loot for us before Mom takes it.
>>
>>22172730
lets timeskip ten years, then we can pick a base, our kobolds will be established and our elves good and conditioned
>>
>>22172806
I agree with most of that. I would also like to add
5. Continue to search for possible hoard locations.
>>
>>22172730
Take over green's elves, set up a cult of personality.
Keep tabs on sis, prepare to figjt with her for dominance if necessary.
Plan a breeding program, those elves and kobolds have vaginas in dire need of dragon semen.
>>
>>22172880
this
>>
>>22172880
Dragons do not become sexually active until age 50.
>>
Hey OP, did you roll for that fight behind the scenes? Could've it gone other way round?
>>
>>22172880
I don't think we have sexual desires and actual working semen yet.
>>
>>22172897
>>22172909
I blame the lack of male role model in our lives. Why must we be born to a dragonic single parent...
>>
>>22172730
so tomorrow then? love this quest
>>
>>22172730
Continue to rule the elves as a strict, but not unfair lord. Transition from slaves to indentured servants when we can. We can't outright release them from bondage yet, it will take some time before they will stay of their own volition, but treating them decently will be enough to earn a level of devotion and contentment that will serve us very well as time goes on. The kobolds, meanwhile, must be nurtured as well, and hopefully, before long, the populations will integrate. Maintain mother's favor and earn respect if possible; she is a valuable ally, after all. Figure out what our sister is up to. Maybe she just acts like a degenerate, bestial idiot, and is actually scheming just like us?
>>
>>22172897

>OH GREAT WYRM, WE HAVE BROUGHT YOU OUR FINEST VIRGIN MAIDENS AS TRIBUTE!

>Ewwwww, cooties! Didn't you read the sign on my treasurefort? NO GIRLS ALLOWED.
>>
>>22172907

Nope, it was this one:
>>22172141

She could have done much better, but she could have done quite a bit worse. Mutual death could have happened too.

So things for next time are:
Get the rest of the elves. Try and impress them and our current ones with Imgodidartak's severed head.
Encourage your cult among the elves.
Continue trying to subvert your sister.
More magic and combat practice.

Timeskip is about 10 years (taking you to the start of the juvenile age.)

Roll 4d20 (low) please.

Next session will probably be on Friday 28th at around 2100-2200 (gmt). Yes I know it's a while, but I need time to come up with stuff for you to do.

Can't we also try to find more lair locations? I don't like any of the already suggested ones...

Anyways, thank you for OPing this. Love your writing style.
>>
>>22173052
If you want Zany idea, just ask. We can come up with a bunch that you can modify as you see fit.
>>
>>22172730
I don't mind a long time skip.
General goals should be probably magic training, raiding to increase our hoard and battle experience, and probably using the death of Imgodidartak to further increase the loyalty of our elves. We should probably also use the time to get all the elves from Imgodid lands to our elf village. We should also search the his lands for anything interesting that mom might have missed(I'm guessing mom will take all of his hoard from his lair to herself, maybe gift a bit to us).

BTW -
You mentioned that the human fighter that we and sis killed had a recently made dragon-bone axe. Considering that the only (then) recently dead dragon was our brother, it is probably our brothers bones. I want it. I don't care how we get it, but we MUST get it.

>>22172909
Hmm, if we're shooting blanks then there's no harm in having a go with our sister. If we can choose our alignment then surely we can choose to be a sexual deviant?
>>
>>22173052
throw in some dragon hunters or adventurers coming to avenge their fallen comrades, is always pliable situation
>>
>>22173132
OP has mentioned we have a strong instinctual barricade preventing incest. To me, it carried a sublimely hidden message of: "No sister fucking in my quest." I think you should let it rest.
>>
>>22173084
>>22173084
Woohoo crit success with our sis!
>>
>>22173179
But could we at least take her prisoner and force her to breed with monsters? It's perfectly valid idea even from an IC point of view.
>>
>>22173235
Why should it be? Its far more effective, less dangerous, and more satisfying to breed with monsters ourselves.

ONCE WE ARE ACTUALLY SEXUALLY ACTIVE.
>>
>>22173120
If I understand correctly, we squirreled the axe away in our horde.
>>

No there's not. You're not suggesting we fuck a bronze or copper dragon, are you ?

>>22172806
The PrCs of this book are a bit lame.

>>22173052
Can we try again to find allies among humans ? For example selling our occasional help to a minor lord or the leader of a rebellion or a mercenary organization.
Not for money, we're not a professional, but for future favors.
Anyway, we should get some of the more faithful elves to develop their social skills. Send them to the human clerics with some money to cure their scars too.
Then we could use them to get intelligence and contacts and negociate things with humans if an opportunity presents itself.
Rolling it before 404.
>>
>>22173543
As long as they aren't white (those guys are morons) and they know whose in charge I will be content.
>>
Oh right, I forgot.

It's silly to round up the elves of the green's woods to bring them to ours. They're a great number and we don't have much to accomodate them. We'd better bring our elves to them, and settle them in and around the emptied lair of Imgo. Or in another preexisting set of buildings (then we'd make Imgo's lair a temple to our cult). If possible, close to the river and the human towns is good.

We should explore those woods with the help of our rangers. There's probably some dangerous things left, and valuable things too, where our mother won't look. Our kobolds could help too, they know how to fight. But not much, for they have to stay a secret from mom.

Additionally, once we get all the elves settled and working (I'm assuming mom will let us take control of them), we'll need to have them build boats and start learning to use them, so that we can bring them and their stuff when we get a lair of our own. Making a settlement on the coast would thus be useful.
>>
>>22174386
Ah, get the kobolds to reproduce as fast as they can too for those next ten years. They can settle in the underground of the big forest and be in contact with the most trustable elves.

Start training more elves to fight, either as duskblades, rangers and barbarians. Get some others to train as clerics of Io, worshipping him as the creator of us.
Find some instructors for them.
