Chronicles of a Brighter Future
Or Bright Quest

Merry Spacemass, everybody! Do you know where your Zeon is invading?

WARNING.
The Following Thread Will Contain At Least One Of The Following: Questing, Gundam, Zeon Fanwank, Brainwashing, Zabi Apologists, Slapping, Newtypes, and Horribly Contrived Plot Devices. Hide This Thread If You’re Not Buying Any, Because It Is Exactly What It Says On The Tin.

Previous Thread can be found at: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Bright%20Quest

Quest runs from 9:30am, PST, until 2pm PST OR until interest peters out / I need to sleep.

The system:
Roll D20's. On rare occasion, I'll ask for a D100.

What is a NewType?
NewType powers, since they are plot breaking, will be based on a point system. At the moment, Bright has 0.75 NTP - NewType Points. He used one to shoot down three nukes with the Musai Longfellow’s main battery during the Battle of Loum, (off screen) and has been busy fighting 'OldTypes' over the California HLV GSO Point, which earns him .75.

Char Aznable currently has 1.5 NTP.

For every natural 20 you roll, you'll get .5 NTP. If you roll an 11 on a d20, it will be worth .25 of a NTP. Double rolls on a D100 will also garner .25 NTP.

You can exchange 1 NTP for an automatic critical success / plot breaking idea. You can also exchange 1 NTP to reduce an opposing main character's plot armor by 1/4 or 1/2 on any actions you take against them - the amount reduced will be situational, and depend on what you're planning on doing.

Here's the general gist of what we're working with:
Bright Noah joins Zeon instead of the Earth Federation (for reasons as yet unexplored), and is promoted to Captain of the Musai class cruiser ‘Longfellow’ for his actions during the One Week Battle / Battle of Loum. Newly minted Majors Bright and Char Aznable are ordered by Dozle Zabi to perform a joint investigation of the rumored Earth Federation Mobile Suit in development at Side 7.

Last Thread:
The Date is 0079.07.28
The location: Space Fortress SOLOMON

You accompanied Char to a meeting with a members of Zeon’s Research and Development asteroid, Pezun Project - Professor Ceff and a technician named Christine, who saddled you with five modified EMS-10b Zudah’s that May or May Not Explode – jury’s still out on that one, and they require testing of the various modifications performed on them. Professor Ceff also seems to have both stolen and illegally modified a new pattern Musai space cruiser to house the Zudah’s and their support team, so it’s a package deal. At least it can also hold three Zaku II’s on top of it all – how, exactly, you have no idea. But you’re fairly sure you’ll hear all about it once your Wing Commander, 2nd Lt. Jean Hatzenbuehler, comes aboard.

Even with the usual headache of crew transfers between ships, you’re not looking forward to that in the slightest.

You received your Major’s uniform. It’s a bit snug, but it is brand new. It also sports a personal insignia, a tower shield with a sunburst on a black field overlaid by a capital C. The ‘C’ refers to the ‘Creed’ nickname given to you by your fellow troops.

Inventory:
You received your Orders, but they are on an SD Card. You need Access to a Secure Computer to read through them. You have one in your Quarters on the Longfellow.

Command: Musai Final Type ‘Siegfried’
MS Compliment: 8 (2 in Kommusai hangar)
|-> 2 EMS-10bz Zudah ‘ZuZak’ –Zudah w/ Zaku backpack thruster unit.
|-> 2 EMS-10bs Zudah ‘Solar Job’ –Tower Shield w/ Solar Panels (interior), extra capacitors / batteries.
|-> 1 EMS-10bx Zudah ‘Triple’ – 3 standard Zudah main verniers on backpack unit.
|-> 3 MS-06F Zaku II

Rumors:
Char’s Zaku IIS is Pink.
You have two nicknames. Fellow Survivors of Loum call you ‘Svalinn’ – ‘The Shield that Stands before the Sun’. Other troops know you for your brilliant grasp of tactics used to hold the EFF Space Fleet off of the HLV Geo-Synchronous orbit above California. They call you ‘Zeon’s Creed’, or simply ‘Creed’.
Last thread, the votes were tied for:
>[X] Use a shore line to call the Longfellow and notify them of the change in berth.
>[X] Head to the Armory. Promotions! Promotions! Promotions!
>[X] Find a Computer to review your official Mission Briefing and other notes.

And I managed everything save the last when sleep claimed me.

So then, Major Bright Noah:

Now that you are fitted with a shiny new uniform, you can access computers at the following locations:

[ ] The Longfellow – check SD card for OPORD and any other relevant data, as well as ensure 2nd Lt. Mohai Bret moved your gear (he knows where your stuff is – but maybe not that the location of that bottle of 0075 single malt whisky you’ve stashed away, just in case).
[ ] The Siegfried – you have your hardware encryption key on you, so accessing the files on your new command is also an option. Also, touring and talking with your new Pezun techs you’ve acquired.

To the Longfeloow, to ensure your liqour makes the transition, then. Oh, and the SD card - I suppose that's important, too.

You have too routes that can get you there.

[ ] Officer Car - get there, get orders, get gear, get out.
[ ] Stroll. Find a park. Take in some greenery - this is the first psudo-shore leave you've had in 5 months of constant skirmishes, after all.

The hangar bay SHOULD remain more or less unmolested - there's only so much jean (pic related) can do with a full R&D Development team between him and his idiocy. We could strap on a thruster pack and go spelunking through the lower levels, but I think it'd be better to just take a car right now.

Deciding it was an excellent opportunity to take in something other than the blackness of space and explosions, Bright Noah consulted one of the ever-present location maps and found a course that would take him towards dock thirteen and through on of the small Greenery Zones scattered about the fortress.

[DC 10 Pass]
As Bright boarded the command car to take him to Rommel Park, he heard an announcement over the comm. System – “Scheduled rainfall to commence in 5 minutes in all Green Zones. Please take an umbrella.”

There happens to be an umbrella in the command car, and Bright took it, just in case.

a minute or two of quiet travel later, Bright arrived, and had to admit, the comfortable hue of the trees and simulated sky were setting his mind at ease. Quiet chirps of small birds played over the small area, about the size of a city block on Zum, and Bright headed for a bench to take it in for a bit.

Except the bench was occupied by a rather beautiful blonde. She was dozing in the sun, her captain’s uniform open, letting her impressive bust breathe.

‘Definitely, definitely a beautiful day in Solomon,’ Bright mused, enjoying a brief glance.

She awoke with a start, and she snapped her gaze to Bright immediately. “Can I help you, Major?”

Bright’s mental clock ticked down, and he took three quick strides forward, causing the woman to back away slightly in surprise as the purloined umbrella snapped open and covered the both of them – just as the large, heavy drops of simulated rain began to fall.

“No, ma’am,” Bright replied, smiling.

“Where did? The? What?” She spotted your personal insignia and her eyes narrowed. “Creed?”

“That’s what they call me. Bright Noah, miss - a pleasure to meet you.”

“Where did? The? What?” She spotted your personal insignia and her eyes narrowed. “Creed?”

“That’s what they call me. Bright Noah, miss - a pleasure to meet you.”

She took a moment to zip her front back into place, before eyeing him. “Jane Conty. You do this often? ”

“Here and there,” Bright said, shrugging. “Usually I save it for the Feds, but...”

She sighed. “Thanks. Last thing I needed was to head back to the office drenched. Could I ask you to escort me back to the command cars?”

“Of course,” Bright replied.

She opened a small pack of cigarettes, the green Zones being on of the few places you could smoke on Solomon, and lit up. “What brings you in from the front?” she asked.

“Dozle Zabi.”

“Ahhh.” She shot bright a sideways glance. “Classified?”

“Most assuredly.”

“Interesting?”

“Yes.”

“Dangerous?”

“Potentially.”

She exhaled a long steam of smoke and smiled. “Playing it close to the chest?”

“Always.”

As they reached the command cars, Jane snubbed her cigarette and threw the butt into a butt can. She then pulled a card out of her pocket and offered it to Bright. “I owe you a coffee, at least.” She said. “Give me a ring next time you’re on Solomon, maybe we can get together. I’d love to hear some of your stories from the front lines.”

Bright nodded, and saw her on her way.

That went passably well.

Shaking the excess water from the umbrella, bright returned it to the command car’s glove compartment and proceeded to dock thirteen, bay one. The slightly battle scarred green paint of the Longfellow came into view, along with various members of the crew moving their gear. Bright noticed Jean was glowering at the rest of his wingmen, who were glaring right back at him.

[ ] See what’s up, doc?

>[X] See what’s up, doc?

Bright detoured towards the gathering of Mobile Suit pilots. “Lieutenant! Is everything in order for the MS transfer?”

Jean transferred his glower to you, but blinked it off, seeing the new uniform. “Uh, sir? A moment of your time?”

Bright gestured magnanimously to the side, and accompanied Jean. Once a fair distance from the other pilots, Jean spoke up. “It’s the situation with the Zaku’s, sir. We aren’t taking it well.”

Bright sighed. “I know. I was a bit surprised as well, to be honest. Still, as I understand it,” he thought back to what Char had said on the Zudah, “The new machines are supposed to be quite fast. There might be some hiccups, seeing as they are… experimental, in nature, but we have a service crew from Pezun to ensure any necessary repairs are quickly done.”

Lt. Hatzenbuehler scrubbed his hand though his hair, “I hear you sir – but… those are our Zakus!”

A man can grow attached to anything he’s used often; and it goes double for a soldier and his equipment. It is what keeps him or her alive on the battlefield, after all.

[ ] Allay Jean’s fears – offer to take the ‘most dangerous one’ for yourself. (Triple)

Bright placed a hand on Jean’s shoulder, and moved to pan his other arm across their vision, indicating the ship. “Do you see that scuffing on the Longfellow’s paint, Lieutenant?”

“...yes.” Jean replied.

“She got them when I used her main batteries to shoot down three Feddie nukes. The scorch marks are from when I ordered her through enemy fire to support the Papua’s providing essential war materials. There were feddies, feddies everywhere.”

“…and you drove the ship in without Mobile Suit cover,” Jean said.

“And I drove the ship in without Mobile Suit cover.” Bright finished. “Because you lot had been tied up with those Salamis’ balls at field G. My point is, did you honestly expect to keep your machine forever, Lieutenant? The Longfellow and its Zakus belong to Zeon - not to me, not to you - Zeon. The materials of war are only ever loaned to us. Good thing, too, because I don't think I could afford the insurance for a Musai.”

“It still sucks.”

Bright’s shoulders slumped. “I know. I understand. I’m being forced to give up my ship.” A moment later, Bright continued, “Look, this is probably classified eyes only, but I’m going to need you and your men at their best, so keep it under your helmet,” he looked ariund, but no one was near enough to overhear. "There is a real chance that we will be going up against mobile suit opposition in this operation.”

Jean stiffened.

“We need the best. The Zaku is reliable, and we will still have three available to us. The Zudah is fast, agile, and packs just as much punch as the Zaku.”

“It does?”

“It uses the same equipment, Jean,” Bright said with a nod. He pulled away from him and headed towards the Longfellow’s boarding ramp. At the gantry door, he paused, and turned back to the sullen group of pilots. “Oh. And I‘ve heard test pilots get all the girls. Just look at Char.”

The men looked to each other, and then began ‘discussing’ who would be piloting what.

Bright entered the Longfellow to find a large man with a large chair draped over one shoulder, doing his damnedest to keep from knocking heads with the bloody thing. On seeing Bright, he offered a salute with his off hand. “The new uniform suits you, sir.”

“Thank you, Mohai.” Bright said. Once upon a time, he had thought of The Human Zaku with such words as ‘huge’, and ‘immovable’, but having seen Dozle Zabi in person, he could only use ‘large’ now for the Seven Foot tall former asteroid miner and semi-pro Blitzball player. “Start on my quarter’s yet?”

“No, sir. I was intending to pack your gear last, on the off chance you’d come to see the old gal off yourself,” 2nd Lt. Bret said agreeably.

“Watch who you’re calling old. The Longfellow’s only been in service for two years.”

Mohai nodded. “True, sir. Still, I’ll be up nights, thinking of her as ‘home’ for a while yet I imagine.”

“It looks as if the new ship has a little more headroom,” Bright offered.
[2/3]
>>
>>22203553
“Does it, now?” A speculative gleam came into the large man’s eyes. “Does it now, indeed.” He hefted the chair. “With respects, sir, I had best be about installing this. Be quite a fine mess if it’s not installed when we leave port now, won’t it?”

Bright thought to the console that still bore the man’s hand print from where he had gripped it during the fast burn to Loum. “Yes, you should.”

Another salute, which bright returned, and Mohai was on his way.

Bright quickly made his way to his quarters, and turned on the screen for his computer terminal. Inserting the SD card and his hardware encryption key, the computer spent a moment decoding the information before offering Bright his choice of four files:

Bright opened the Zircon Report document first. It details which colony in Side 7 was suspected to house the EFF MS Development project, based on personnel and material movements.

It also gave locations to maintenance hatches large enough to accommodate Zaku’s, and some exterior access hatches that a small strike team of commandos might utilize to gain entry to the colony.

[Bright now knows the V project is in Side 7, Bunch 1, Cylinder 1 – Green Noa]

INTASCREDCHK is an Intelligence Asset Credibility Check, vetting the various people who provided the information, as well as reports on the credibility of the ZIRCON agents currently in Side 7/1/1.

The bottom most section of the document recommends infiltrating a small team of MS pilots to steal the enemy MS. It was filed by a fellow codenamed ‘Ulysses’, but seems to be less than favored by his superiors as it relies on valuable pilots and command personnel to use a public transport to gain entry disguised as civilians, followed by a further reconnaissance and inserting personnel to capture the enemy mobile suits.

Definitly risky, but Bright liked the idea, overall. Frontal assaults were easy – making the enemy do a double take and scream your name to the heavens while you take all their gear? Priceless.

OPORD is pictured to the left. A... succinct reminder of what you’re doing. Definitely Dozle’s style.

A minute or two after Bright perused the documents, but before his brain has a chance to ruminate on them in detail, the phone rings. “Noah.”

“Captain,” the calm voice of your comm. operator answers, “I have a communication incoming from the Flamel. It’s Char Aznable, sir.”

“Put him through.”

A moment later the vidscreen on your computer shows Char’s face, and he holds up the SD card he received. “Have you managed to go through the documentation yet?”

“Just now.”

“Good. I wanted to have your thoughts on which route to take. Travel through side six’s neutral space, or cut through the defenses at Side 5.”

“There’s always Loum,” Bright said.

“I dislike being radioactive,” Char returned.

[ ] Pass through Side 6 space (Less likely to result in a battle)
[ ] Run the blockade at Side 5 (Exposing ships to EFF Forces)
[ ] Cut through the Loum Debris Field (Dangerous levels of radiation and debries, gravity slingshot maneuver will cut 5 days from the trip to Side 7)

now that we have ascertained our mission objective and got a plan for what to do.

before finalizing our plan, we should move our stuff from the longfellow onto the siegfried. then we can plan...
>>
>>22203888
We shouldn't risk a battle at Side 5, because that could delay our mission, damage our forces, and possibly put our target on alert.

I think we should split our forces. The majority pass through Side 6, while a few units cut through Loum. We will ask for volunteers for the Loum detour; we won't order anyone to take it. We should think about ways to harden the ships against radiation and impact, or otherwise minimize the risk involved.

The Siegfried itself will take the Loum route, unless there is a high probability that we will grow extra fingers or the ship will crash into a wreck and blow up. We can't take the chance that the Feddies will move their project materials before we reach Side 7.
>>
>>22203943
Think we should pass through side six, as we would want to arrive as a group anyway.
>>
>>22203976
The extra time could give us a better opportunity to infiltrate. It is also possible that the Feddies will transfer project materials before our forces that pass through Side 6 will get there. In that case, we would want someone there to intercept those materials, or at least track their route.
>>
>[x] Pass through Side 6 space (Less likely to result in a battle)
Char is right, being radioactive is bad.
>>
>>22203999
Wait changing my vote to change my vote to splitting our forces.
Based on what happens in Episode 1 of Mobile Suit Gundam, i know Char will botch the plan if we send him in a way that makes him arrive first, so i we pick the quicker route and Char's the slower route.
>>
>>22203943
The Siegfried was designed with the known hazards of Shoal zones and radioactive debris field in mind. It's also a damn sight faster then a regular Musai. If you were to take the Sigfried alone through the remains of Loum on full burn, and perform a hard slingshot maneuver, the Siegfried could arrive 15 days ahead of Char's Flamel if he travels at fleet speed through Side 6.

As of right now, I have 1 vote for the Side 6 route, and two for Loum. I'll give it another five minutes, if no change, then we'll split the ships and Bright will revisit Loum.

the advance infiltration team will go through side 6 as 'civilians' so that we can get more detailed recon on the V project.

after sufficient time is given to allow the advance team to get to side 7, the siegfried begins it's journey.
assuming that the time gap allowing the advance team to gain access to side 7, provides enough time for the auto-pilot tests on the Zudahs so the MS pilots can get used to handling them during the journey. hopefully by the time our main force arrives at side 7, the advance team will be able to provide adaquate data reguarding the V-project, we will then be able to make a precision strike, exfiltrating both our forces AND the V-project, if we can. if not then a quick burn operation should suffice...

Why is everyone rolling d6?

Anyway - this is why it takes so long to use the Side 6 route - the Colonies are constantly 'falling' away from you, as the close earth Lagrange points are on the Moon's orbital path, and have to rotate with it.

If you try to go beyond the moon and wait, the forces at Side 1 will curb stop you - that's why Side 1 is the EFF Space HQ.

Really, i think Char taking the Side 6 route while we go through Loum is better. This is a vote for splitting up.
>>
>>22204084
>after sufficient time is given to allow the advance team to get to side 7
But we are the advance team if the Siegfried goes through Loum, since we'll be the ones arriving 15 days ahead of Char's Side 6 Route.

And quite frankly, that's better because we could then infiltrate the colony via the maintenance hatches and contact ZIRCON assets already in the colony.

We could then attempt to steal the mobile suits, then have Char provide a distraction while we escape.
>>
So, to sum up:

General consensus, as I read it, is to let Char take the Flamel through Side 6 space.

Bright and the Siegfried will take the route through Loum's Shoal Field. And will arrive 10 / 15 days before the Flamel will. 10 if you want to 'park' outside the debris field and field test the Zudah's in a highly mobile random environment. The techs from Pezun would love that. The pilots.. not so much.

...of course, Bright could always try to pilot a Zudah. Is your Major Badass enough to Pilot a Mobile Suit? Roll a d100 to find out.

If you want to go with 'Ulysses' civilian infiltration plan, you'll need a Public class transport shuttle.

>>
>>22204772
Let me get this straight:
Amuro has 1.20 NTP that he can use to outmaneuver us and get to the Gundam and activate it before we can steal it.

And you want to reduce us from 1.0NTP to 0.5 NTP, just to do some flashy moves in the middle of nowhere, where no one but our own crew could ever see us.

Are those your priorities?
>>
>>22204835
What? I guess being tired messed up my brain. Changing my vote to average.
>>
>>22204835
NewType points and piloting ability are two different tings.

Refer to first post for an explanation of NTP.

Char's Pilot ability score is 100.
Amuro's Pilot ability score is 120.

Char has 1.5 NTP.
Amuro has 2 NTP.

You can burn NTP to improve odds, reduce pl;ot armor, and pull off maneuvers you otherwise wouldn't be able to - like keeping one roll out of three.

Can someone tally the votes? I'm plotting over here.
>>
>>22204880
So basically between us and Char we'll have 2.5 NTP over Amuro's .5 NTP, but at the same time it means we effectively only cancel out Amuro's since the .5 can't be used.
>>
>>22204880
So it's a choice between having only 0.5 NTP or having trouble keeping up with Amuro IF we end up fighting him in a Mobile Suit Fight, is that what you mean?
>>
>>22204943
No it decides between getting buttfucked by Amuro in Side 7 or not.
>>
>>22204917
>we'll have 2.5 NTP over Amuro's .5 NTP
No. It'll be 2.5 NTP over Amuro's 2.0 NTP
And that's only if both Char and Bright are in the same battle fighting Amuro at the same time.

Not if Char's outside running a distraction while we go up against Amuro in trying to steal the Gundam before him.
>>
>>22204880
>>22204880
But i thought Amuro at first sucked at piloting? If he were already better than Char he would've curb stomped him in the first battle gundam vs. Zaku.
>>
>>22204951
I don't want to get buttfucked!
>>
>>22204962
You're right, Amuro only survived because of the Gundam.
>>
>>22204917
unless we can generate some more points during our journey there & the infiltration...

anyway, Amuro only found the gundam due to Chars forces attacking side 7. if we don't attack until WE have the gundam, the Amuro does not get it...

anyway, we are only piloting the zudah to prove a point. not to become Zeons next ace pilot...

also at the moment, votes are 5 for burn, 3 for keep... hopefully we don't burn half our points on proving a point to our MS ace...
>>
>>22204880
Can the Pilot Ability Score be improved?

And this vote is for determining Bright's Pilot Ability Score, not to see the degree of success he has in the test run of the Zudah?
>>
>>22205007
Well, i think burning the NP will make us a MS ace almost on Chars level if i understood this right. And being a MS ace is incredibly useful. It increases our options significantly.
>>
>>22205007
It's 3 for Burn, 5 for keep, because 2 people misread the 0.5 as 0.05 and retracted their votes later.
>>
>>22204962
He did suck, and Char was being cautious during their first several sorties. At the end of the series, however, Amuro's NewType Space Autism grants him 20 points to piloting, where Char is just manually dexterous. Char's NewType abilities usually pinpoint Amuro and get him in trouble.

>>22205019
Piloting bility can be improved through training until you hit 100. After that, you're either gifted (Amuro) damn good AND Gifted (Kamille) or scientifically enhanced.
>>
>>22205019

i would assume so as pilots usually get better the more they practice and test their skills, that and amuro goes from not knowing anything to being a true ace pilot...

>>22205035
sorry, missed that thanks for the correct.
>>
>>22205035
Count my vote as going to whichever means we don't get "buttfucked" later on.
>>
>>22205007
>>22205034
But the only way to generate NTP is either by nat20's on a d20, an 11 on a d20, or a double on a d100.

How likely are we to generate more NTP before we Gundam-jack the RX-78? Not likely.
>>
>>22205066
This, whatever we choose i think we want to stay alive as long as possible.
>>
>>22205067
But Bright already has only 0.75 NP. We cannot use those NP to do anything amazing since you need at least 1 NP for that shit. Better use them now to get incredibly good at piloting, so we won't even need to use em later.
>>
>>22205111
Bright has 1 NTP. There was an 11 rolled on a d20 up above.
>>
>>22205111
Dude we got 1 NTP because we rolled well, read the thread bit more.
>>
>>22205067

never know, we could get a string of critical successes during our infiltration, i mean two crit successes will net us 1 NTP... the potential still exists. just remember, we have some time before amuro even GETS the gundam. we just need to get it first... after all, how can you stop something you don't know is happening?
>>
>>22205111
>Bright already has only 0.75 NP
What?
No, we have 1.0 NTP.
We got .25 NTP when we were lucky enough to get an 11 on a d20 earlier in the thread.
We now have 1.0 NTP, which can either fuck a character's plot armor, or give us an auto-success on something that fucks the plot.
>>
>>22205123
And piloting a Zudah through a shoal zone would require rolls.

Just letting you know your options.
>>
>>22205111
He has exactly 1 NTP because of the 11 roll. If we use any on piloting, he will have .5.
>>
>>22205140

>[X] Split the ships. (Siegfried -> Loum, Flamel -> Side 6)

After a long moment to consolidate his thoughts on the matter, Bright said, “I’ll take the Siegfried through Loum and enact a modified version of the infiltration plan set down by this ‘Ulysses’ fellow.”

“Modified?”

“We’ll use Zaku’s to transport a group of infiltrators to the man-access hatches noted in the ZIRCON document,” Bright explained. “Once inside, we will meet up with the ZIRCON assets in Side 7 while the Mobile Suit team regroups for extended testing of the Zudah’s. When you arrive on site, you’ll take command of both Mobile Suit wings, and relay your best assessment of the situation in space-“

“Wait, I’ll take command? Where will you be?”

Bright shrugged. “I’m still forming variations of the plan. As such, one calls for my presence on the infiltration team. If I do go that route, then you’ll have command while I’m gone.”

Char didn’t look pleased, but nodded.

“At any rate, should you agree to this plan, you’ll be in a good position to spot any Federation personnel transferring from Earth to Side 7 – they’ll likely be using slingshot to get there that will put them near where side 7 will be a month from now – about the time you’d get there, if I’m crunching the numbers correctly.”

“Humn… meanwhile, your infiltration team would have been on station, what, eight, nine days before us?”

“Minimum – The Sigfried looks to be built for speed. I’m not sure just yet how much faster it would be, but if you’d like to come with us-“

“No, thank you,” Char said.
[1/2]
>>
>>22205231
Bright shook his head. “Let me think on it some more, after I’ve moved my personal items over and gone through the Siegfried’s technical specs – if I can go through the Siegfried’s technical specs,” he amended. “If Ceff stole it, his team might not have them.”

Char nodded, “Until then, Major.”

“Major.”

Bright quickly gathered his personal effects, which weren’t much beyond his aged Luna Single Malt whisky, given to him at his graduation of ESCDATA, Zum City’s Earth Sphere Combat Doctrine And Tactics Academy, by a commander who’s lectures he was found of.

A photograph of his parents. His ESCDATA Diplomas, his photograph of Zeon Daikun. A few other nick knacks.

A quick double check to ensure the bed was turned down properly, and all the drawers were empty, and he saluted the suddenly barren room. “Major Bright Noah, disembarking,” he said quietly, before turning and leaving the echoing halls of the Longfellow behind.

Walking down the gangplank, Bright saw Lt. Mohai waiting, having commandeered one of the cargo vans for his chair. The electric engine gave a quiet hum as Bright approached, and Mohai nodded towards the passenger seat. “Ride?”

Bright hopped in, and the two men drove towards their new ship.

When they arrived, Mohai looked up. And up. And a bit more up. “Headroom? I could do jumping jacks, sir.”

“Let’s hope so, Lieutenant.”
