>It's been a while, hasn't it?
>Come closer and let me grab your ass.
>Wizard Curse: Plump Grabbable Ass Quest Part 12

You are Roger Smith, young man turned young woman by way of the magic of a crazy ass-wizard lady and trapped within a cursed dress which is possessed by the tormented spirit of the dress's first victim. Luckily, because you are wearing the dress, you have been given a great deal of magical power which has allowed you to become a rather capable magic-user, at the cost of some control over yourself and your sanity. Although, you have been holding up rather well, for the most part.

Presently, in your journey to turn back to normal, you have traveled to the Bridge City of Arisca with the aid of your retired Adventurer parents. There, you completed some simple work for a merchant in exchange for an audience with two of Arisca's most powerful Wizards. While waiting for that meeting, you've managed to collect your own little party of adventurers, learn some new spells, met Millia's strange friend, who was able to show you all the terrible mistakes you could have made, and, most recently, had a very public little session with Millia at a local bathhouse, among other things.

After having a couple days to fool around and get into some trouble, you have finally received the message you were waiting for. In two day's time, you are to meet with the Wizards. You have decided that, rather than tell them all the dangerous details up front, you will approach them as a prospective student looking for a teacher.

I've uploaded Fade to Black 3 and the start of a short story which has no relation to Ass Quest, at least at the moment.

>IRC Channel for chit-chat and direct contact
#AssQuest on irc.rizon.net

And then the obligatory explanation:

As I type, I take suggestions from you guys. Ideas you might have for dialog, choices, things to do, and what not. You can also suggest things as the devil on Roger's shoulder by posting with Spoiler text ([*spoiler]words here[*/spoiler] minus the asterisks)

If you have ideas, do please participate. Good discussion between my walls of text gives me more inspiration and allows me to work on the next one more easily, without having to wait as long. I can't promise that I'll use everything posted, at least not right away, but don't feel like you are being ignored.

I will also use dice rolls from time to time. The way I run dice in this quest requires that you, the participants, hit a certain DC in a certain number of rolls. So, I could, for instance, tell you to "Hit 15 or higher in 2 rolls" and if the first two rolls posted after that call roll 15 or higher, it's a success. Otherwise, it's a failure.

Rolling dice does not give you narrative control or direct influence over what happens next any more than any other post. Rolling can just as easily get the opposite of what you want.

It's morning.. It might be.. You glance around the room, trying to gain your bearings. You're in a dark library. It's the illusionary one you made last night, although some of the details have vanished. Fewer books on the shelves, one of the room's actual walls is visible, and just little bits faded out of non-existence. You were still sleepy, but not tired enough to fall asleep again.

You roll to one side, finding Millia resting on your arm. You two had really worn each other out last night. The soreness in your back made you regret doing it all while sitting in that stiff chair.

The kitty ears are gone, you notice. At least you could still do limited durations on others without any lingering side-effects, unlike what you did to yourself, last time. Your butt had already gotten so big.. You groan at yourself for having such a girlish thought.

There was so much for you to do today. You needed to get moving, because otherwise, you'd miss the chance to practice as much as possible before meeting with the Wizards. Millia promised you some rather intensive lessons to prepare. If you didn't make an impressive showing, then the chances of either of them taking you as a student seemed unlikely.

You lean in and steal a kiss with Millia, causing her to stir. She begins kissing back first before waking. When you finally pull away, she smiles and begins to sit up as well. "Good morning, Dorothy…" she says softly. "Mornin' Miss Lili," you reply, grinning like an idiot and feeling a certain masculine pride you hadn't felt before. You had successfully pleasured a Succubus last night, and the both of you knew it.

Millia raises her arms above her head and arches her back, pressing her chest out towards you as she gives a languid stretch. "Nnnngh.. So, I think we need to start your intense training. You have a lot of magic to burn off and a lot to learn. Where should we start?"

You climb out from your bed and fetch your steepled hat from the floor where it had fallen over the course of last nights festivities. You place it atop your head and adjust it until it sits on your head just right. You take a moment to smooth and fix your dress, still in the slim and form-fitting evening gown configuration it had taken the previous night, before you turn back to Millia.

There was so much you could ask to learn. Magic was a dangerously vast field of study with very few known limits. Not to mention, you've got more than enough power and two very skilled and and knowledgeable sources of aid in Millia and Lucile. The possibilities set before you were so numerous that you had trouble deciding the best place for you to start.

Shouldn't we try to learn a few magic tricks to show our aptitude to the wizards?
We don't want to attract too much attention, so why not learn magic beneath us so their expectations are lowered?

"I think it might be wise for me to learn some more of the basic spells. The little cantrips and stuff," you start to tell her, "I'll need to show them that I have potential, but prove that I still need more practice. If I show up throwing around powerful spells, they might just turn me away and tell me I don't need them."

Millia nods and climbs out of the bed, her form shifting effortlessly from her true succubus self, to her human disguise, and then again into her usual garb. "That's a very practical thought," she tells you with a smirk. "The basics may be perfect for what we need. Good for demonstrating skill and reasonably safe for a beginner to practice, but not something anyone would question a beginner learning." Millia saunters over to you, taking a moment to circle around before taking a spot behind you. She takes your hat and tosses it across the room, "Hey!" "Now, most wizards are both lazy and practical. Beginners may not want to waste their mana using little spells that pick things up for them or create lights when they can just walk over and get it or light up a torch... But you're not most wizards."

She takes your hands and guides them through a set of arcane gestures. You try to focus on the exact movements, but you are partially distracted by how removed Millia's presence is. You barely feel her pressed against you, despite he moving your arms around. "Your spell gives it form and your magic and will give it life." You nod quietly, attempting to repeat the gesture and cast the spell.

You feel a portion of your focus shift out in front of you, taking the shape of an invisible phantom hand. "Good.. Now use it to grab your hat and bring it back here."

You carefully guide it across the room and will the hand closed around the brim. You see the edge of your hat crumple just slightly. You then begin to draw it back to you, shakily floating your hat back to your head. You release it and it drops atop your head. You let go of the spell as well and adjusted your hat again.

Millia takes your hat again and tosses it across the room, "You need to practice, Dorothy. Once more." You want to pout, but comply all the same. She throws your hat, you retrieve it with the Ghost Hand, then she throws it again. After a few times, your grip is starting to feel more steady and natural. Where it felt like grabbing something with a stick, it starts to feel like reaching over with your actual arm. Your grip gets steadier and Millia's guiding hands stop moving to corrects yours as much.

"Very good.. Now you can fix your hat." You quickly adjust it, hopefully one last time. "You need to be proficient with these spells, so don't feel like you can get by with the bare minimum. From now on, anything you need to grab that's out of reach should be with your Ghost Hand."
>>
>>22266997

"I understand, Miss Lili," You turn your head to smile up at her. It's not out of reach, what with her right behind you, but you begin to cast again. This time, you guide the Ghost Hand around and plant it against Millia's butt, grabbing one cheek tightly. You note the faint sensation of actually touching her and make a mental note to build up the ability to feel things through the ghost hand.

Millia doesn't jump or yelp. Instead, you feel her pressing back against the hand, wiggling her butt into your ghost hand, "Mmmm.. Now, Dorothy, we can't spend all night and all day playing around. We have much more to practice." The faint pressure of her pushing back against your ghost hand is enough to resist any force you can exert with it. "Let me just try something.." you tell her as you attempt to compartmentalize your focus. Just enough on one side to hold the spell while you prepare another one.

You have to slow yourself down, but you eventually feel another hand spring into existence. You guide it around to grab the other cheek, giving Millia a firm squeeze with both ghost hands and lifting her just a bit before the spell gives out on its own. You hear Millia's heels hit the floor as she drops from her tippytoes.

Millia giggles softly and drapes her arms over your shoulders, gently hugging you by the neck, "Ghost hands are weak. Capable of only lifting no more than a few pounds each. You can compensate with extra hands, but that starts to require so much concentration that it becomes hand to manage."
>>
>>22267329

"Just remember to keep using it when-ever possible, darling. It will allow you to burn away some extra magic and allow your Ghost Hands to become more potent." You nod eagerly, "I will, but what's next?"

Millia ponders for a moment, "I think I know. One more simple spell before we head downstairs and get breakfast. I want you to close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose." You followed her instructed and inhaled as much as you could. "Do you smell that?" she asks, "That sort of damp, musky smell?" Your face starts to redden, "Your dress may keep you clean, but the bed and the chair and the floor.." You start to exhale and open your eyes, "And there's a spell to do something about that, right?"

Millia gives you a nod in reply. "Like I said. Wizards are lazy. Who wants to clean their own messes or wash their own clothes?" She begins to instruct you once more, guiding you through the motions of a simple cleaning spell. You have less difficulty getting the hang of this one. It's almost like creating a bucket of water and simple pouring it over the dirtied area. She has you clear the room, which is a fairly simple task for such a small room. When you finish, you swear it's cleaner than it was when you first entered.

"Very good! Now we won't be charged any extra for ruining their sheets." You and Millia share a laugh, though it's more of a nervous, embarrassed chuckle from you. "So, what's next? Fireballs and magic armor? Shooting icicles from my hands?" Millia starts to head for the door, "How about something simpler. We can go over some Wizard etiquette and a few more cantrips over breakfast, okay?"

Your mind is swimming with the possibilities of what you might do with the few spells you already know. You had so many options that it made you wonder how Wizards could get so preoccupied with more powerful spells when even their weaker ones could be used in so many different ways. Ghost hand alone could already be used for many things and if you could make it more powerful, or even learn to manage more of them, you could be quite dangerous. You'll have to keep all these ideas in mind once this is all over.

On your way down, you catch Hekaton and Danny slowly trudging out of their room. Both of them look rather worn out and possibly hung over. You wave them over and they slowly make their way to join you, "Mornin' Princess..." she croaks softly. Hekaton bobs his head and grunts in greeting. Despite having bathed with you yesterday, there was a certain odor about Danny. Her dress, which she'd been wearing for the past 3 days, was starting to show stains and looking worse for the wear.

You glance to Millia and she gives you a affirmative nod, having noticed the same. Without waiting for permission, you begin to cast that cleaning spell again and throw it towards Danny. Like wiping the dirt off a window, every bit of dirt and discoloration is wiped away from Danny, leaving her dress perfectly white again.

"NYAAA!! HEY! Careful with that magic shit! I'm still jumpy from the first time ya did that ta me!" You reach over and tug and primp her clothing, making her look considerably less disheveled. "You're welcome."

You reach up and gently scratch Danny behind her ears, "Don't be like that.. Your dress needed a good cleaning. Kind of my fault, leaving you with only the one outfit, after all." Danny relaxes, whether she really wants to or not, but doesn't say anything. "Don't worry, Danny. I'll keep you clean long enough for us to secure a proper wardrobe for you."

The four of you make it down to the tavern area, which is empty at this early hour. The sun hasn't even been up that long, and other than a couple of weary looking people at opposite corners of the room, no one is really getting drunk.

You take time to stop by the bar and put in an order for some food for breakfast, fresh fruits and breads and some juice, before you grab a table off to the side. No one is likely to bother you this early in the day, anyways, so it doesn't really matter where you sit, for now.

"So, you had more spells in mind for me, Miss Lili?" you ask as you sit beside her. Danny and Hekaton take a seat across from the two of you. "More magic? I thought you were all freaked about about usin' magic? Somethin' about your crazy curse." Danny asks as she grabs an orange from the tray in the middle and begins ripping it open. "It's more complicated than that. I need to be able to convince some wizards that I'm a worthy student, so I need to practice every spell I can for the next few days."

You create a ghost hand and grab a piece of honeybread, "So, that means lots and lots of magic." Danny grimaces, "Sounds like a whole lotta bad news ta me.. Nothin' good has come from your magic.."

You roll your eyes at her, "None of us would be here if it wasn't for magic. It's a silver lining.." you bite into the bread, still holding it with the ghost hand. You fold your arms under your chest and lean back, "Beside, I remember a certain someone being particularly thankful because of some magic stuff that had happened." Danny's ears flatten against her head and she slumps back, looking flustered "Yeah.. Well, just don't do any stupid stuff with it."

You drop the bread into your hand and move the ghost hand over to give Danny's breasts a quick squeeze before dispelling it quickly. Danny yelps and nervously scrambles around, looking for the offending groper. Hekaton has his hands occupied in one way or another, two elbows on the table, one set folder, with the other two holding food and drink, Millia and you out of reach. You start to snicker, trying not to spit bread everywhere. She glares daggers at you while you turn to Millia, "So.. More magic lessons?"

Millia gives you a proud smile, like a Master approving of their student using all the things they've taught them. "Of course! I think I have another one which you might find useful." She begins another quick lesson. A few bits of magical theory that are starting to make more sense. A simple gesture or two. A sculpting of intent, laced with magic to create the effect. "Arcane Sight allows you to see the strands of magic that weave through everything. It allows you to attune your sight to a sort of energy that's typically invisible."

She takes a long look around the room, as if searching for something, "Hmm.. There's several magical and enchanted objects in this tavern and I want you to point them out for me. Use the spell and find them."

You begin to cast with Millia's touch subtly correcting your gestures, giving life to the new spell. When you finally release it immediately feels as it it has backfired on you, blowing back in your face. The surge of magic washes over your vision and when your eyes finally readjust, the meaning of 'Arcane Vision' becomes much clearer.

All around you, the Feisty Penguin tavern seems more muted and less distinct, but hanging in the air, like a faint fog is something that wasn't there before. Current currents swirl and slip through the room, drifting between tables and through the little cracks and crevices of the walls around you. Magic itself, you think...

The magic fog that surrounds people seems to swirl with more energy. It moves more quickly around some more than others. You look down at yourself and instantly stop to marvel at the intricacy of the magic woven around you. Hundreds upon hundreds of tightly woven strands of magic make up the dress. Countless enchantments woven intricately with the sort of care and skill you'd never witnessed before.

"I think you have a pretty extreme example of what an enchanted item might look like. Now look for others," Millia instructs in a soft tone.

You begin to scan the room once more, this time looking carefully for the bright threads amongst the fog. "That man's weapon.." you point out a man in the corner who appears to have a magically enhanced edge on his blade. "The ring on his right hand.." you point out another man who had just moved his hand into sight.. "And.. Your whip.. Two different ones, I think." You'd never thought to look at it closely, but the whip the Millia carried was woven with two distinct strands that extended from handle to tip.
>>
>>22269489
And now to learn what do all this means, so we can distinguish whats what.
>>
>>22269489
Keep on looking around, see if there's any embarrassing magical items. Also look at the people around us, see if we can see any magical influence in Hek's extra arms, Millia's entire self, Danny's ears and other cat traits.

Millia nods and begins to explain, "That's right. Enchanted objects carry spells within them, woven tightly, rather than being loose and flowing like natural magic." You look back down at the dress, trying to comprehend how many different spells there must be. "What does it all mean? How do you tell what they are all?"

You take a good look at your party members, trying to see if you can make out any enchantments within them. You expect to find something that would give away Danny's state as a victim of magic, but find no such strands. You search Hekaton to see if there might be some sort of magic behind his arms, but there's nothing like that within him. You turn to scrutinize Millia and manage to make out the faintest hint of something.. It's like an enchantment, but not quite as tightly woven as the others.

Between the three of them, you are only able to distinguish one unique magical feature between them. The magical fog that drifts and swirls around them appears to follow unique patterns. Millia, Danny, and Hekaton each have a distinct aura, just barely visible in the fog around them.

You feel your vision begin to go out of focus as the spell fades and wears off. Soon you are just staring at normal fabric wrapped around your usual, feminine body. Your eyes take time to adjust to just how vibrant everything is without the arcane sight. "When you start to become familiar with a wider variety of spells, you'll be able to distinguish spells by decoding the intent contained within an enchantment."

That might explain what's going on with Millia.. A sort of illusionary enchantment, but one that's been built in. Not quite a spell, but close to it. That didn't explain Danny's situation, however..
>>
>>22270057
Strange, we'll have to talk to Millia later about how we could be wrong, but we think our transformation of Danny went very deep and became her natural state. And we can ask about the magical fog/auras.

This is a very good spell to practice.

Practice using Ghost Hand to eat and feed Millia, ask Hek for tips on controlling six hands at once.
>>
>>22270057
It's obvious. Danny is all natural.
>>
>>22270057
danny being "natural" as a catgirl might become a problem, or not I'm not sure since so far he -has- enjoyed is condition quite a bit
>>
>>22270254
It's weird, not really a problem.

Rather it could be more of a blessing, now no one will try to decurse her against her wishes or look at her weird because she's enchanted her tits.
>>
>>22270057

>inb4 we are same as Danny.
>>
>>22270057

"I doubt they'll expect you to be able to identify and untangle and complex enchantments, but just as long as you know that you can eventually decipher them, you will be far better off." You nod to Millia, trying to understand what you've already seen. Perhaps if you could take a good look at one of you illusionary image spells you might be able to see if that's what Millia has going on..

"That explains some things.. Except for Danny.." you tell Millia. Danny perks up, looking at the two of you in between mouthfuls of food, "Me?" Millia raises an eyebrow at your question, "How do you mean?" You try to think how to word it, careful not to spill any secrets that Danny wouldn't want revealed. "When I accidentally gave Danny those cat ears and everything.. That was a sort of spell, right? That should be visible with the arcane sight, right? When I took a good look at her, I couldn't seen anything. No magic at all."

Millia shakes her head, "Transformative magic is tricky like that, unless there's some sort of catch or duration or limit put on it. Once it has been cast, then it's just done. It's not a spell that is just constantly going all the time. That would drain your mana dry instantly, then only leave it going for a matter of hours. Once the victim is changed then that's all there is to it. The effect is done and the spell is gone."

Everyone at the table stares at Millia as she expounds on the finer details. "Think of it like a Fireball spell. You've all seen or heard of Wizards doing that, right? Well, when they throw out a fireball, they aren't making a permanent fire. They are making a brief moment where fire exists and then once it's out there, that's all the wizard has to worry about."
>>
>>22270480
I strongly suspect that the dress will shroud any attempts to 'scry' ourselves. Worth a shot though!
>>
>>22270735
While we're on the subject, ask her if there's anyway one COULD tell that someone had been a victim of transformation magic.

It'd be important to especially if Danny is with us at the meeting, we don't want them to call us on our bluffs. Maybe there's some kind of tell, "the inside of this person is still male-I mean not catgirl" kind of thing.

Which means we might have to do something about hiding the enchantments on our dress too? Surely two master wizards would be aware of the enchantments on the dress. It'll weaken our cover.

The implications behind this new information cause you to take a moment to yourself. You sigh heavily and close your eyes. "So there's not some sort of simple spell to just undo all of this..?" "I'm afraid that the only way to break spells like yours or Danny's is to cast a similar spell to change you again," Millia tells you. "And that means I need to practice more transformation magic..." Oh! How perfect! I can think of all sorts of things you could change into for practice!

You groaned and lowered your head onto the table. "Maybe I'll just ask the Wizards to teach me, since every Wizard is apparently some perverted monster with dangerous unchecked powers.." I take offense to that, you know.. And it had been such a peaceful morning without the voice in your head..

"Is there any way to magically identify someone who has been transformed?" You roll your head to the side, still resting it on the table, and look towards Millia, "Not unless you scrutinize them very, very closely. It's a lengthy process that even a skilled Wizard wouldn't bother doing unless they had a reason to." You sigh heavily, "What about a way to hide enchantments? The Dress is lit up like a bonfire. If they so much as glance my way, they'll probably be able to tell that something isn't right. If I'm not honest with them, they won't teach me anything."

Millia smiled reassuringly, "There is a spell for that. It is a little bit more complex than what we want to show off, but it's not a spell for showing off. It's something less direct and overt. I think it would be ideal for a magic user like you, Dorothy."
>>
>>22271483
"Is it safe to practice here?"
>>
>>22271483
"That sounds good. Should we practice it in private or can it be done in public?

"Is it a spell that's safe to cast here? In public with everyone watching?" you ask Millia, taking a quick look around. Millia nods, taking a similar scan of the room, "Unless there are any over-zealous Wizard-Hunters looking to pick a fight, I don't think anyone will mind if you use another spell."

The lesson she gives this time is more complicated than any spell you've cast on your own. You've sat in the backseat of your own body and witnessed Lucile and the Dress cast spells more complex than this, but you've never tried one yourself.

The first you attempt it you actually fail. You'd never failed to use magic til now and it's frustrating in a way you weren't expecting to feel. Millia had said that even failing spells would be good for burning off your extra mana and serve as a learning experience, but you just can't feel okay about this.

You try again and fail.. You grit your teeth and feel Millia assert her grip, trying to guide you again. Aww.. Do you need some help? This one isn't even so bad. I could just do it for you this time And now you're getting pitied..

You take a deep breath and prepare yourself to try again. You want to do this on your own. You don't want to rely on Lucile and just coast your way through this. You want to be your own wizard, not some magical puppet.. The offer stands.

"One more time.." you mutter to Millia, repeating the gestures one more time. Sculpt the mana, lace it with your intent.. Give it form and life.. and.. and... "Damn it!" you curse out loud as you botch the spell again. "Calm down Dorothy. You're getting too worked up," Millia tells you, rubbing your back gently.

You huff a heavy sigh, "It's just usually not this hard. Most spells just make sense to me, but I keep messing this one up.. It's the dress messing with my concentration." You're lying to them now and blaming me..? Now you felt guilty too..

Millia smiles reassuring and begins to explain the basics again. She tells you it's okay to have some difficulty with this spell. It is more intricate than the others you've learned. You nod, following along again, thinking maybe there's something you're doing wrong..

I'll only help out, but now you owe me now.. Give me what I want and I guarantee you'll be able to cast this spell. You wince internally, knowing you'd said you would be somewhat more lenient.. The only issue is what she wanted. Longer Hair. It's the only thing you keep fighting me on and I want it even more now.

So, give up your short hair in exchange for a tricky spell...
>>
>>22273246

ok fine, but not too much longer please...
>>
>>22273290

>>
>>22273246
"Lucile, I want to be able to cast this spell. It isn't even about the hair, me being able to cast the spell is different from you casting it for me. I want to learn and master this, if your offer means that I know how to cast the spell, understand why I had trouble with it, and so on than sure, I can add a few inches. But if it's just you casting the spell for me than my answer is no."
>>
>>22273329
I think thats what the 'help' meant, but its good to put it into words.
>>
>>22273246

No, no, this is a slippery slope of owing and dealing. We need to learn to magic on our own, or we are basically just backseat mages in this quest.
>>
>>22273380

lats time we said no she made us wear heels. Now she really wants it. If we don't give here this who knows what she'll make us wear next.

maybe a bunny girl outfit with a special attachment in the tail, or a really easy access dress with a sign on our back.
>>
>>22273246
"No deal. You want longer hair you have to give more than help with this one spell.

I know how much you want it, and you know that I can shut you down if you try it, I've done it before. So if you want it that much, you're going to have to up your offer."
>>
>>22273246
Fine, but only shoulder length. No longer!
>>
>>22273443

Don't rub our ability to block her in her face. That will just make her want to screw us over badly to teach us a lesson. We need to live in a fairly happy balance with the dress for now, or this is going to be miserable for us both.
>>
>>22273246
No. No no no no no. We are NOT budging on this issue... Yet. Certainly not for help.

If we DO change our hair length... We change it regularly, we put OURSELVES in control and we change it when WE want. Like first thing in the morning, like putting on clothes. We are who we are inside. Not even the dress can change that, so long as we hold on. We've come so far, we CAN hold on. We KNOW we can.

All the same... Turn Lucile down politely. And apologise publicly for blaming her. That was uncalled for. I agree with >>22273329 in that we need to learn to do this on our own. The easiest road is not always the best.

You rub your temples, trying to get your thoughts straight. It's so hard thinking a conversation with a voice in your head. Every little whim and passing idea feels like a sentence. She knows you're considering her offer and that you might accept and she can probably tell that you are just as likely to snap down on her and try to block her out for a while. It's a sort of negotiating which requires a great deal of mental finesse, which you were having trouble maintaining in all of your frustration.

Okay, Lucile, if you're deadset on changing my hair, I want more than just one little hint. You were one of the greatest female wizards of your time, weren''t you? I want you tutoring me the same way Millia is. You know I can't promise anything... But as long as you don't kick me while I'm down, I will give you a hand where I can.

That sounds like it's in line with the general agreement that two of you already had. Just a little longer with your hair for some additional magical lessons. I knew you'd come to see it my way! Your hair was already growing anyways! Sooner or later I'd get what I wanted. This way I just don't have to wait!

"Roger..? Roger! Are you still with us?"

You snap from your internal conversation and look up. At some point, your parents had sat down to join you. Most of the food was gone and you're still sitting where you were, staring at your hands. "Oh.. Yeah! Yeah.. I was just negotiating with Lucile.." you tell them, sitting up straight.

One more time.. Gestures like so.. Mana like this.. Now, magic really is quite simple. The trick is to make your intent crystal clear. You can feel the familiar pull of the dress welling up inside you. Don't stop casting.. You're on the right track, you're just not instructing your spell the right way. You aren't sure what that's supposed to mean, yet, but you keep on the right track, slowly pulling and sculpting mana from within yourself.

Your little Succubutt friend is trying to teach you a Magical Shroud spell. The trick with this spell is that you need it to be adaptive. It needs to know to adjust itself to the sort of things you're trying to hide. Like cutting a piece of cloth to the right size so it covers something. You'd only felt Lucile being this calm and in control once before and that was during your meeting with Yurara. Discussing magical theory was the closest thing to peace she had.

You can feel the faintest influence of the Dress guiding your spell. You're doing most of the work, but it's filling in the fine print for you. At the same time, you can feel fingertips tickling across your scalp. You know your hair is growing, but all you care about is the spell for now.

And, when all else fails, you can always overdo it. Cast a wide net! You finally let the spell go and grin wide as you feel it spring to life, whirling over you. And there you go! The feeling of a successful spell is infinitely better than a failed one.

You take one additional moment to yourself and cast Arcane Sight again to make sure it worked. When you look down at yourself to see nothing. No strands, no light, no delicately woven magic. Simply just the faint whispers of your own aura twisting amongst the ambient mana, slightly obscured by the hair falling into your eyes.
>>
>>22274786

You muster up your best mental hug, envisioning an image of Lucile and yourself, embracing tightly. Thank you, Lucile. Thank you. I'm glad I could get a chance to share something like this with you. Aww, sweetheart.. I'm just glad I could help for once.

You cast a quick ghost hand and lift your hat with one hand, pushing your hair back of your ears with the ghost hand before dropping the hat down again. With arcane sight, you can actually see the ghost hand as you move it about. It's a tangle of raw magic in a rough, hand-like shape. You watch it for a short while, moving it about and admiring the way it moves through the ambient mana.

"Roger.. Your hair." You look up to see the stunned faces of, well, everyone. You let your spells go and give a smile, "It's okay! Honestly.. It was just a little something to relax Lucile so she could give me some help with the more difficult magic."

You lean back in your chair and look to Millia, "That magical shroud spell is harder than you made it sound." Millia shrugs casually, "I have a great deal of magical knowledge and I could go on for hours about theory, but I'm woefully limited in practice." You give her a quizzical look, "How exactly is that..? How do you get one but not the other?" She smiles playfully, "By having a friend like Yurara."

>So, where were we

You fidget nervously, trying to resist the urge to mess with your new hair. You can feel it constantly brushing against your neck and shoulders. It's still a decision that you weren't happy to make, but you needed to be able to use this spell when it matters most. It would allow you to protect yourself and Lucile, which is what matters most in all of this. You don't want anyone else taking the dress and tormenting her any further and you don't want anyone using the dress against you.

But still.. Your hair! You've never had it this long. Even if it's only to your shoulders, it still feels like the Roger you thought you were has been completely buried beneath an impenetrable layer of femininity.

You push some stray, lengthened hairs from your face, tucking them behind your ear and look to your Mother and Millia for help, "Do either of you have a bit of string or something so I can tie this new hair back?"

They rummage through their pockets but turn up nothing. Millia excuses herself and heads over to the bar. You see her talking with the bartender for a short while before they hand her something. She turns and holds up a length of white ribbon. Before you can protest, she's moved behind you and removed your hat... again.

All this new hair still bothers you, but you can't help but notice how nice it feels as Millia runs her fingers through it and along your scalp. It's pleasant, but in a feminine sort of way that you immediately feel guilty for enjoying.

You feel her tie most of your hair back into a ponytail, but some strands, just long enough to hang in your face, but not long enough to reach the ponytail, still sit loose. You reflexively reach to push them back, tucking them over one ear.

"You tied it in a bow, didn't you..?" Millia nods as she sits beside you again. She hands you your hate with a smile, "Think of it as a disguise."
>>
>>22281290
>she hands you your hate

Haha, whoops. Should be "Hat", obviously.

Let's practice magic by using Ghost hands to eat.

You want to say something to Millia, but hold back, letting out a pouty groan instead. This was your choice after all, and you are the one who has to live with the consequences.

Danny snickers at you from across the table, appearing rather entertained by your misfortune. "Hush, or I'll give you hair down to your heels." Danny tries to stifle her laughter by taking a drink, but you can still hear her sputtering.

You go to reach for a piece of fruit, but Millia slaps your hand. "We're not done practicing. Not until we run you absolutely dry of all extra mana and magic power for the day." You sigh and begin to cast ghost hand again. It's so silly to use it to take a piece of food only a few inches out of reach, but you do it anyways, snatching a shiny green apple from the center of the table.

You turn to your parents, now that you've overcome to latest set of crises, "So, what are your plans for today? I think Millia and I will just be brushing up on spells and wizardly manners and stuff for the day, so I can be ready for tomorrow."

Your Father reaches down and sets out a small rectangular box. He lifts the lid and shows you a collection of 10 phials, neatly packed with straw. "Well, we wanted to deliver these to make sure you avoid any happy little accidents." He slides the box towards you, "Keep at least one with you at all times, just in case the Dress decides it doesn't feel like negotiating."

You lift one of the phials from the box and examine it for a moment. Each one appears to contain enough for one quick gulp. "You'll need a place to keep those. Maybe we can get you a handbag.." Millia says, leaning closer to take a look as well.

"We're still going to be around, but we were planning on gathering supplies for our return trip," your Mother begins to tell you, "If you need anything, we're still here to help, but after we deliver you to the meeting, we'll be leaving."
>>
>>22282080
If we do want to get a bag, we should check with Lucile at least once, make sure it's appropriate.
Or perhaps the dress could make pockets?
>>
>>22282115
Pretty much this, see if the dress will let us at least have pockets.
>>

Why not a belt/pouch that is specifically made to carry vials? (like it has a loop things, that makes sure vials don't move around).

You takes a bite of the apple, holding it firmly with your ghost hand while you repackage the phials of clarity potion. "I don't know about a handbag.. Maybe I'll try bargaining with Lucile some more. See if she'll let me have a more respectable outfit with pockets, or maybe some pouches.. Actually, this all ties together really nicely, now that I think about it." You look back up at your parents, "I was wondering if your two had ever dealt with wizards this way before? I need to know everything I can. What I should wear, how I should greet them, and anything else that matters."

your parents hold a small conversation on their side of the table, recounting the times they'd encountered wizards and other magic users. "Well, we've fought our share of them over the years, but that might not do you any good.. Well, it might, but we'll get to that." Your Father strokes his beard thoughtfully, "We did meet a few Royal Viziers in our time. They like to be treated with respect and lots of it. Any Wizard who has achieved some sort of high station has likely earned it in some way."

Millia nods in agreement, "Respect is key, but that goes without saying for any noble or royal. If they have a title, you will want to use it whenever possible. As for how to dress, you should at least be presentable, but if you want to approach them as a fellow Wizard, you should wear your finest robes if you are trying to appear as an equal. Like other nobles, fine clothing denotes status and wealth and refinement."
>>

You attempt to envision an outfit that would make you look like the sort of respectable young wizard that would garner the respect of two powerful master wizards. Some flowing robes, maybe with a bandolier for your phials. You always thought bandoliers always had a sort of masculine flair to them. You make a mental note to get one and fill it with other potions once this whole dress ordeal is over.

Manly and adventurous simply won't do.. You need something cute that will get these powerful men to invite you into their private studies for some intensive lessons.. You can't tell if that was the good or bad side of Lucile, but you are certain that something is happening with the dress.

The fabric of the simple evening gown wrapped around your body begins to shift and tug at itself, changing shape before your eyes once more. The fabric darkens to a familiar shade of blue as it become what you'd consider the basic form you'd crafted for it. A short blue dress that fluffs out with layers of lace and silk at your hips, just shy of meeting the stockings that ran all the way up to mid-thigh.

However, instead of covering you with the leather armor which the Dress had absorbed nearly a week ago, you are instead given a wide, cloak-like mantle that drapes over your shoulders with a high collar that reaches up to your jaw. It offers some modesty, since it covers your shoulders and some of your chest, but it only reaches down to the small of your back, not quite obscuring your backside.

Knee-high boots with a slightly raised heel and simple gloves that flare out with lace at the wrists accompany the outfit, giving you a sort of demure look with just a hint of skin. With your mantle and your hat, however, you certainly give the appearance of a magic user, though.

B-but Lucille, a touch of masculinity enchances femininity that much more! Like a woman with an eyepatch.
>>
>letting us get away with a ponytail

C'mon Lucille, step it up.
>>
>>22283417
Well, that's... about as good as we're probably going to get. Though they said "your finest robes" and we don't know anything about noble clothing; is this the right balance between fancy and practical? Get others to review. Also, we need pockets or other ways to hold potions and wands and such somewhere while keeping our hands free. This doesn't have that yet.

Maybe the classic "store it between your breasts" option will work here...
>>
At the very least, this new outfit covers some skin and doesn't make you look like you are trying to attract attention by showing off your body. Still, you were hoping for some kind of belt to hold these potions. Just a hint of masculinity, even if it was only just a silly belt. It's probably for the best, you think. Something manly would probably only high how girlish the rest of you is.

Well, if you put it that way..

You feel something cinch around your hips. you look down to find a sturdy leather belt, buckled to the left side, with a couple pouches and even three bandolier loops hanging on your right side.

You carefully reach over to the box and pull out one of the phials and slip it into one of the loops... It fits! This is perfect! You grab a couple more and slip them onto the belt. You readjust the belt a little, feeling pleased with your new accessory.

You look back up at your party, all of them quietly watching you while you go through another dramatic wardrobe change. "Sorry, everyone.. Sometimes I get tied up in my own head."

Your Mother shakes her head, "Even knowing that you might be in control or unharmed, it's still worrisome to watch this much magic just happening without warning." You laugh nervously, "I know it looks bad, but this is actually the most cooperative the dress has ever been."

You take a few more bites from your apple, "And I think as long as I keep up the magic practice, and keep it occupied, I should be okay. I'm actually feeling much more relaxed about this whole meeting thing tomorrow."

"Speaking of which.." Millia interjects, "We still have much more practice to do. A few ghost hands and some illusions won't be winning over anyone."

You float aside the core of your apple and gulp down the last of your juice. "Alright, I think I've had my fill anyways," you tell her. You grab a napkin with your ghost hand and carefully wiping your face clean.

Millia pushes herself away from the table and takes a look around, "I think we should maybe take our practice elsewhere. There's only so many spells you can cast before you start causing problems for others. I think we should maybe find somewhere safe to practice once we decide what to teach you next."

You nod eagerly, getting up to join her, "I think I'd like that. I'd get to see more of Arisca while we're at it." You look over to Danny and Hekaton, "And you two would be welcome to come, of course." Hekaton nods, rising as well, some food still in his hands, "Need to pick up my gauntlets anyways..." Danny shrugs casually, "No where else for me ta go." Your parents move to join you, "And we have supplies to purchase. We can at least accompany you for a little while."

Millia smiles as the party rises from the table, "Only question now is where to go.."

After a short discussion, you tell her that you'd like to learn some offensive and defensive magic. You certainly have an affinity for the more utility-oriented spells, but being able to look after yourself in a fight is a skill worth having. With that resolved, you figure that the best place would be the King of Iron Fist gym where Hekaton had taken you yesterday.

Along the way, Millia has you practice your arcane sight, which makes your sight-seeing around Arisca very different. You insists that you point out any magic objects you see and to try and discern their purpose, if possible. Unfortunately, out of the handful of random objects you notice, you aren't able to figure any of them out, just by observing their magical patterns.

However, you do get the chance to examine the magical auras of the various adventurers and merchants and citizens around town, while following Hekaton to the metalworking shop that was repairing his gauntlets.

You spot a few people who have especially powerful auras that seem to disrupt the natural mana-flow around them. Likely mages or wizards, Millia explains. Most strange of all, are the Tau that you pass by, who barely have any aura at all. You had heard that their kind had no love for magic, but you suspect the reason went deeper than that in.

Half-way through your detour, your parents break off and wish you luck in your training while they go shopping for their last supplies. Your Mother reminds you to avoid any unnecessary acrobatics if you practice with your halberd.

Before you finally reach the Gym, you stop at a small metalworking shop. It's an open building with only stop pillars holding up the second floor, while the first floor is largely the workshop area. The near-musical sound of pounding anvils and rattling machinery pours out from the area. Luckily, the nearby buildings and businesses appear to be other kinds of blacksmiths and forges.

Both you and Danny shy back from the shop, as the noise is especially potent to your more sensitive ears.

As you approach, you count at least a dozen different dwarves, all stirring around restlessly, jumping between different projects and hurrying between different machinery to keep the forge pumping and the iron hot.

Hekaton breaks off from the group to go talk with one of them who exchanges a few words before disappearing into the second floor. He returns shortly after toting a wooden box, which he opens for Hekaton to examine. The nods back and forth a few times then Hekaton hands over a sack of coin. He plunges all six arms into the box and pulls them out, sheathed in large, heavily reinforced metal gauntlets. Each one has some gilded details inlaid on the back of the hand. Different symbols which you can't recognize from here.

A quick arcane peek reveals that they aren't magical, but that several of the tools hanging from the dwarven craftsmen's belts are.

Semi-agreed. In the limited time we have, we need something that would impress the Wizards, who are probably non combative people. So something complicated or flashy or interesting.
Necromancy is out, unless it's just summoning spirits to chat.
Animating constructs or golems could work, and if we improve our illusions a lot it might be helpful.
Best to avoid transformations ofcourse.

You grit your teeth and approach the noisy workshop. You have some difficulty getting any of them to notice you, but you eventually catch the attention of the dwarf conversing with Hekaton.

You point to the hammer hanging from his belt and try to ask a few questions. He strains to hear you at first but the message is eventually conveyed. He explains that it's a sort of runic enchantment that makes it exert extra force onto metals. It amplifies every blow. Her grins wide and adds in "Family Heirloom!"

You nod eagerly and thank him before, sneaking one last arcane peek at it before leaving with Hekaton.

The four of you make your way to the gym, completely your small tour of only a part of Arisca. You check in with Hekaton's uncle again, who looks like he hasn't moved since you last saw him, and drop off your extra belongings that you don't want getting in the way during your practice. You notice Hekaton seems reluctant to part with his gauntlets, but puts them aside anyways.

Millia sidles up beside you as you walk towards one of the sparring rings, "So, what kind of magic did you have in mind for our combat practice today? There are plenty of offensive spells, but few that are acceptable for a friendly sparring match."

Your party gathers by one of the sparring rings, but no one takes up any weapons just yet. Hekaton and Danny aren't quite sure what you need them to do, since they don't know anything about magic.

You discuss the different offensive and defensive spells. If you're going to be practicing with everyone else, then dangerous spells are out the the question. Millia suggests some simpler spells that are about as dangerous as a stiff shove which might be okay to practice with.

While you weigh the different options you take notice of the row of training dummies on the other side of the gym. "Hey Millia.. Would is be possible for me to animate those dummies to train against?" Millia walks over to one of them, and nudges it, "It's certainly possible, but it would be very difficult. They're also sort of flimsy.." You follow her and prod at the dummy, "Then you teach me to cast Mage Armor and we toughen them up!" Millia shrugs, "It's worth a try, I suppose.." You smile eagerly to her.

You spend some time getting familiarized with the new spells. Mage Armor and Arcane Arrow are bother rather simple spells. They feel sort of familiar, especially with how much you've been using ghost hand, lately. Millia explains that they come from the same school of magic.

The animate object spell is far more complicated. It shares a lot of the same ideas of giving your magic form and life, but in a much more literal way. You find yourself struggling to get it to work, even with Lucile's earlier advice in mind. You try tailoring it to the dummy and giving it a will to fight, but it doesn't quite work...

Having trouble again, are we? You sigh, trying not to lapse into frustration and anger again. You liked feeling like a prodigy, but you were starting to question your actual skill.

You feel Lucile and the Dress's influence starting to creep through your body. You're doing well, but remember what I said before. Cast a wide net. Overshoot your goal, if you have to. You consider what that might mean for a spell like this. Not just telling it to live, but being especially thorough with your instructions.

You begin to cast again, this time filling the spell with more commands and directions than you did before. You tell it how to walk and move and handle a weapon and how to get up and continue to fight. This feels more right. You think you might have it this time, but something feels off. The push from Lucile's end is too hard. You can feel her toying with your spell while you're still casting it.

There you go.. Let's just spice this up a little bit more.. We want a good fight from these soldiers, don't we? Wait.. Soldiers? Hold on, Lucile.

You try to get ahold of things, attempting to stall the spell for a little while longer. This doesn't feel like the sort of Lucile who wanted to teach you all about spells..

You feel the spell slip free from your control, though you can still feel it being cast through you. Don't fret, sweetheart. I'm just making sure you have a productive and thrilling training session.

The animation spell leaps from your hands and into the dummy... and then from that dummy into the one's beside it and the one's beside those. Each one slowly begins to move as the spell surges through them, creating ten animated soldiers.

Before, they were simply vaguely man-shaped burlap sacks, stuffed with straw, but as Lucile's enhanced spell takes root in their simple forms, they begin to change in shape, becoming strangely more feminine with cinched waists and flared hips. They lack any distinct features, but their general shape appears to be more lady-like.

You stumble back and grab Millia to pull her away from the dummy. "I'm not controlling them right now.. Lucile did something to the spell before I could cast it." You glance over at Hekaton and Danny who have taken notice of the moving dummies.

A second surge of magic rushes across each dummy, granting them mage armor in the form of ethereal plating, modeled like dresses and gowns around the animated dummies. Consider this a special lesson. You'll learn all about using spells in the heat of battle now!

You inch back towards Hek and Danny, eyeing the weapon rack as the ten dummies begin to saunter and sashay elegantly towards you.

>battle plan wat do?
>>
>>22293125

Millia and Hekaton hold off the dummies as they slowly advance being careful to not let them pass, while Danny attacks from behind and retreats when necessary. we'll cast supportive and offensive magic as necessary being careful not to hit the party.
>>
>>22293125
I guess Mage armor ourselves, maybe Hecaton too and do what we did last training session, which is cover Danny and Millia, and possibly Hecaton too
>>
>>22293125
First, get armed, not with training weapons, but with actual weapons.

Hek will be the front liner, he should devote most of his attention to defense and not letting them surround us. Danny gets actual knives, she's to take out targets of opportunity, cripple them, and backstab. We'll use our polearm's reach to strike at any that Hek is holding off as well as using any actual offensive magic we have.
>>
>>22293125
Dance battle!
>>
>>22293125

There's nothing we can do.

We'll just have to give in to the whims of the sexdummies.
>>
>>22293244

but they are girl dummies and that is forbidden love
>>
>>22293125
Hek and Danny fend them off while we and Millia play support.
>>
>>22293125
How many dummies?
All I can say is we have to avoid being surrounded. But If the dummies are soldiers they probably have a formation so it' s gonna be very hard to try to manipulate them...

You back away while casting ghost hand. Anything that's out of reach should be grabbed with a ghost hand, just like Millia told you. You send it flying over to the weapon rack and snatch the nearest practice polearm you find. You'd get your actual halberd, but the dummies are closing in, blocking the path to the lockers. You are feeling tense, but you stop to remind yourself that they are still only burlap and straw. Magically animated or not, all you need to do is beat them to pieces.

"Okay, everyone! We need to work as a team. Drop them one at a time and watch out for each other!" you shout as you reach to ghost-grab a weapon for Millia as well, lobbing it towards her as you join Hekaton and Danny at the center of the gym. "Don't hold back on your opponents. Fight smart, just like we practiced."

You sink to the back lines with Millia and prepare to cast the arcane arrow spell. You let it fly at the front-most dummy and catch it in the shoulder, making it stumble for only a moment. "Tighter and more focused, Dorothy! Don't just push at them. Punch them!" Millia urged you.

The dummies begin to close in, finally within reach. Hekaton grins wide and lunges to throw a heavy singular punch at the unfortunate dummy. His hit whiffs are is narrowly sways out of the way then latches to his arm. It wraps itself over the extended arm and begins to tenderly rub at Hekaton's bicep. To look of sheer confusion and revulsion on his face is priceless.

You line up your shot and release another arcane arrow into the clinging dummy's side. The mage armor protecting it shatters and the dummy falls loose to the ground. It only manages to stand up for a moment before receiving a three-armed uppercut that sends it in a high arc over it's comrades, raining straw down atop them.

"Keep it up, Hekaton!" you shout to him, then quickly turn to Danny, "When they lunge in to grab him, you give them a good smack, got it? Only nine more." You look to Millia, "That leaves us to pick off any that Danny misses or that try to sneak around and flank us."

With the first of the dummies down, the rest start to move with more energy. They lunge and leap in, like dancers. They aren't trying to strike at your group. Instead, each attack is only a means to grab at their targets.

Hekaton has to fight defensively, careful to keep them pressed back and shoved aside, simply because he doesn't want any of these things rubbing themselves on him ever again. As soon as he backhands one down, Danny leaps out and clobbers it with her wooden sword.

This method allows you to pick off two more of them, but with each one down, the remaining dummies get more desperate and clever.

While you are busy trying to line up a shot on the few that Hekaton is holding at bay, you fail to notice the few that have slipped away, ducking behind the equipment around the gym and sneaking closer. You are about to let loose another arcane arrow when the dummy lunges out and tackles you from behind.

You yelp pitifully and feel the spell slip from your hold and vanish before it can be used. You need to keep your focus locked around that spell, because if you lose it, you have to start from scratch!

The dummy's mitten-like hands begin to roam over your body, roughly groping your chest and massaging awkward circles over your ass. You'd probably enjoy this if it weren't for the fact that it was being done by an animated burlap sack..

>pinned by a dummy wat do!?

It's my own fault for putting an hour between updates.
>>
>>22294516
It's not going to be easy to cast in these conditions, which is something we should work on.

We're still holding our polearm, jam the pole part of it between us and the dummy, lever it away, and use that bit of breathing room to blow its head off with an Arrow.
>>
>>22294516

You begin to squirm in its grasp. It may be animated, but the amount of power the dummy actually has is limited. You begin to cast again, using one hand to prep the spell while you pry against the dummy with your weapon.

You close your eyes and focus on the gestures. Performing them with unerring accuracy was all you could focus on.. Not the feeling of clumsy, inarticulate hands squeezing at your assets, like they were checking for ripeness on a piece of fruit.. Definitely not that. Shut that out all together.

You finally slip your hand free and level it at the dummy's face, or lack thereof. You don't merely release the spell this time. Instead, you fire it off with an extra push, popping the dummy's head clear off it's shoulders in a shower of straw and fabric.

You use the polearm to push yourself to your feet more quickly and take a quick scan of the area around you. That was number four, which means there are six more to deal with. Hekaton and Danny are busy with three of them and Millia is pushing back two more with a series of quick sword thrusts. That means there's another one hiding somewhere.

I'm going to debate on whether or not I should allow that, since it's a damn cool idea.
>>
>>22294849
It would be pretty damn cool. It'll require a lot of focus to keep multiple magic hands moving in an extremely precise manner, but if we got really good at it we could cast multiple spells at once. Or cast the same spell multiple times simultaneously.
>>
>>22294878
Or cast a spell when getting molested by animated dummies.
>>
>>22294849
I was actually looking for that image to post, then was beaten to it.

Also it would be amazing.
>>
>>22294895
That too. We'll have to have a chat with Hek, see if he has any tips for coordinating half a dozen hands.

Eventually I'm hoping for us to be able to cast 4 fireballs at once while our other hands are busy fighting with a polearm.

>>22294878

that must take a lot of concentration and way mana than usual since it is basically trying to channel one spell through another.

It's enchanted, you think to yourself.. Rather than preparing another arrow, you cast arcane sight and begin to scan the gym. With two very obvious enchantments, it was easy enough to spot the other one skulking behind a sparring ring, moving to flank Danny.

You curse it for being out of reach, but as soon as you complete the thought, you begin casting and creating another ghost hand. You pour some extra power into it and clench the newly formed hand around the dummy's ankle.

A sharp tug drags it out closer to you. It tries to move, but you have it's light body tethered by the ghost hand. You give it a harsh jostle, bashing it against the ground, shattering the ethereal plates of mage armor protecting it. Were this an actual person, you'd never be able to toss them around so easily, but these dummies do a fair job of making you feel like a powerful and resourceful wizard.

You keep it pinned by the ankle while you prepare another Arcane arrow. With a dismissively wave of your hand, you punch a hole through it's chest and it stops moving. You can't help but feel a little sad for the poor thing.

You think that makes five, but a quick check reveals that you are down to three, and they are moving more frantically than before.

You cast a second ghost hand and simultaneously grab two by the ankles, allowing Hekaton to land a clean bodyblow, while Danny swoops in with a backstab. The last one makes a desperate leap to grapple Danny, but Millia swats it in mid-air, sending it tumbling lifelessly across the gym.

Give casting spells with ghost hands a shot, it might not work, but it could be an interesting avenue to explore.

Your party collectively holds its breath, making sure they don't get up. You scan the area with your arcane sight and confirm with them that the enchantments are gone.

Hekaton starts to laugh first and Danny soon joins in. You chuckle with them and stand tall and proud. Millia pats you on the back and smiles proudly. "You did exceptionally with the few spells you had. Not the sort of practice I had in mind, but I think this worked very well, all things considered."

"Except for all the training dummies you ripped up," calls a gruff voice from across the gym. Hekaton's Uncle is standing on the far end, having apparently been watching your fight this whole time. Hekaton's mood and posture shift drastically. "Uncle..."

"We can fix this, sir. I assure you," Millia shoots a look your way, "Magic got us into this mess and we'll use magic to fix it."

You spend the next hour sweeping up straw and stuffing it back into dummies before Millia starts to teach you the Mend spell. It's another simple bit of magic that fixes tears and rips and little scuffs. By Millia's explanation, it's mostly good for keeping up appearances and patching small things, like training dummies with their heads blown off.

When all is said and done, you set the newly repaired dummies back on their posts and dusts yourself off. "So.. Who's hungry for lunch?"
