Quest runs from 9:30am, PST, until 2pm PST OR until interest peters out / I need to sleep.

The system:
Roll D20's. On rare occasion, I'll ask for a D100.

What is a NewType?
NewType powers, since they are plot breaking, will be based on a point system.

Currently:
Bright Noah has 1 NTP
Char Aznable has 1.5 NTP
Amuro Ray has 2 NTP

For every natural 20 you roll, you'll get .5 NTP. If you roll an 11 on a d20, it will be worth .25 of a NTP. Double rolls on a D100 will also garner .25 NTP.

You can exchange 1 NTP for an automatic critical success / plot breaking idea. You can also exchange 1 NTP to reduce an opposing main character's plot armor by 1/4 or 1/2 on any actions you take against them - the amount reduced will be situational, and depend on what you're planning on doing.

Here's the general gist of what we're working with:
Bright Noah joins Zeon instead of the Earth Federation (For Reasons Yet Unexplored), and is promoted to Captain of the Musai class cruiser ‘Longfellow’ for his actions during the One Week Battle / Battle of Loum. Newly minted Majors Bright and Char Aznable are ordered by Dozle Zabi to perform a joint investigation of the rumored Earth Federation Mobile Suit in development at Side 7.

Last thread we did a lot of interviews. I mean, a LOT of interviews.

Today, Bright has an appointment with Jane Conty, a ZIRCON Agent. So, before I can write any exposition, I need some rolls. Jane was snooping around, trying to find some EFEMRIAL documents for your Zudah op, or to aid in your infiltrating the EFF Mobile Suit Dev base.

Roll 3 d20's, and a d100, please.

This is one of those situations that I'm not sure how much info to give out.

So, I'll try to drop some hints before bludgeoning you guys over the head with "ARE YOU SURE"s.

The things you need to perfectly pull off a 'False Flag Captured Zudah' operation are as follows (list if from an earlier thread, so it's not cheating):
Earth Federation Black Ops Documentation
Earth Federation Uniforms
Earth Federation Forces Vessel - such as a Salamis pattern cruiser or a Magellan pattern battleship.

And here's the hint: proper credentials (or something that looks p[roper) got American spies into and out of East Germany via the Berlin Wall with minimal fuss and bother. This is a similar situation.

>>
>>22545833
Basically, the 'Narrative' version is the full thing, with grammar, 2nd / 3rd person fixes, and additional story bits added in here and there to improve flow and overall story telling. I freely admit to making a lot of mistakes (an admit I'll be making even more, I assure you) with this, and the fact you fine fellows / ladies are willing to play my silly little game of Giant Robots both honors and amuses me.

So, you can probably cut / paste the entire thing into the Google doc, and have everything including today's. Once I finish it.

>INCOMING

Bright picked up the phone as it rang. “Noah, go ahead.”

“Mohai here,” said Bret, “Your commando teams arrived – their awaiting inspection in cargo bay 3.”

“Copy,” Bright said, eyeing the clock. “I’ve been expecting a Captain Conty for the past few minutes, now. If she shows, escort her to the war room, would you?”

“Sure thing, Captain.”

“Noah, out.” Bright said, and made way to the third cargo bay. Upon arrival, he found several men and women setting up camp. Cots were being lined up and attached to walls with magnetic strips in an orderly, if somewhat reserved, fashion.

A man and a woman were overseeing the operation, and Bright approached them. They wore the standard Zeon infantry uniform, one with Sergeant Stripes and the other with a 2nd Lieutenant’s pin on his collar. “Welcome aboard,” he said, returning their salutes. “I’m Major Bright Noah, commanding officer of the ‘Siegfried’. How are you settling in?”

“Second Lieutenant Lannie Kissick, CO of the Hammer Slammer’s, sir,” offered the stoky man, who held his hand out for a shake. They did, and the woman also shook Bright’s hand, offering “Sergeant Coralie Romera, of the Moon Breaker’s, sir. Pleasure to be here.”

“Roomier than I thought it’d be, Captain, what with all the parts being loaded up and all,” Lannie continued. “Thought for sure you’d be stuffing us in an air lock or in the Kommusai bay, or somethin’.”

“Hey now,” Coralie said, smacking her fellow commander, “None of that. The accommodations are fine, sir.”

Bright shook his head. “I admit, from the outside, the Siegfried looks a bit cramped, but she’s nearly twice as wide as a regular Musai. There looks to be plenty of room to spare for everyone.”
>>
>>22546789
“Twice, sir? Really? It looked big, but, I didnea know it was that big,” Coralie replied.

“You could say she’s got a really large bust, then, and gams that coul-“ Coralie smacked Lannie again. “-och! What? I’m just… alluding, is all. No harm meant,” he said.

“The Captain’s right in front ouch ye, yah bloomin’ idiot.”

Bright sighed. “I’m willing to over look a little here and there – you men and women are going to be a great asset to have, and the ship won’t mind a little joshing. Just keep it respectful, please.”

“Right-o, sir. And speaking of, to what death defying missive have we been posted here for? If you don’t mind me asking?”

“Well, Lieutenant, we have been ordered to sneak aboard Side 7, and steal intel and material from the feds,” Bight said. “I requisitioned your squads to help facilitate that.”

The two let that settle for a moment, before Lannie asked, in an Irish baroque so thich Bright could have cut it, “Canae we bring the tanks?”

“Lannie!”

Okay, the tanks they have are Magella Attack Tanks.
You can find more info on them here:
http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Magella_Attack_Tank

The top half can fly. The main gun can punch through a GM's armor. It has a tri-barreled machine gun for anti-personnel.

While it IS true the Zeon forces have fewer resources, the Odessa Mining operation is at full swing, sending Zeon materials at a prodigious rate.

Building a tank is cheap when compared with building a Zaku. Also, I'm flat out prepared to say 'If Char can get 3 Zaku's IN Side 7 without anyone the wiser, you can get 4 tanks in no problem.'

Also, you can attach signle use solid fuel rockets to ANYTHING. Steering it might be problematic, but catching stuff is what you have Zaku's and Zudah's for.

This is entirely up to you, guys. Do you want tanks for the infiltration op? Think worst / best case scenario.
>>
>>22547112

best case scenario - Side 7 becomes a territory of the Principality of Zeon.
worst case scenario - Everybody dies. Feddies advance the GM project. Zeon is utterly destroyed.
Funny case scenario - Federation Mass Produces Zudahs
>>
>>22547112
Worst case, they have to fly out with only the top half. I mean, besides they all die, or their presence is detected before our Covert-Zudah reaches the research facility.

Best case, they shoot up the ship docks, steal a ship, and we get the Gundam.
>>
>>22547148
Your Jib. I like the cut of it.

>[X] Let There Be Tanks

[Rolls: First 2 of the three 20’s earlier. Average 14.3 and 13 – Commandos above average in competency, but have quirks.]

“And just how do you intend to sneak tanks onto a Federation colony?” Bright asked.

“About the same way you intend to get Zaku’s in there. Just a fair bit smaller, easier ta hide, and more maneuverable, is all,” Lannie replied.

Bright did some quick mental calculations on space verses tonnage. “I’m going to need most of your men to be scouts and infiltration assets… but I think we can manage four tanks. The Megalla’s are single seaters, right?” Lannie nodded. “Then let there be tanks,” Bright said.

“From the mouth o’God to the ears of babes,” Lannie said with a grin.

“I swear, tha mouth o’ yours is gonnea get us inta trouble,” Coralie griped, but shrugged. “Wha’ do I care? Save fer all the extra semtex I’ll be carryin’ to get your fat ass outta the mud.”

The phone on the side of the wall rang, and a commando answered it as Bright watched the two carry on, half amused. The fellow came up to Bright, saluted, and said “Sir, Lieutenant Bret is on the horn for you.”

“Thank you,” Bright said, nodding, and took the call. “Noah.”

“Captain, your Major Conty is awaiting you in the war room.”

“Thank you, Mohai. Noah out,” Bright said. He bid goodbye to the two Commando CO’s, who only paused in their good natured argument to salute him, and headed aft for a ring elevator to take him to the War Room and CIC under the bridge.

Meeting Jane there was also a handy excuse to tour the Combat Information Center of the Siegfried, which he had yet to see in person.

It did not disappoint. It was a fairly large room, about half the size of the bridge, with several screens which would display the known positions of enemy ships and units when active, along with a large computerized table that would allow for inputting information, searching the ships’ database, issuing text commands to various operators’ consoles, and zooming into the graphical sensor data.

The table was on, and was currently displaying an animated logo of the ship’s name, along with a spinning Zeon icon. On it was a manila folder, which was rather large, and two steaming cups of coffee.

And an attractive blonde. Although she was sitting at the table, rather than on it.

Bright offered her a smile as he said, “Major Conty. A pleasure to see you again.”

She rose, and offered Bright a salute, which he returned, before gesturing towards the coffee, and the file folder. “Yes. Sorry for the delay, but I think I may have found something you’ll like more than the coffee I owed you.”

“Oh?”

She gestured to both the coffee and the folder, and said “Take a look.”

Bright sipped at the coffee and opened the folder with his free hand. He skimmed the document.

He then put the cup down, before he dropped it.

Top Secret.

Offical EFEMRIAL Use Only.

Operation ‘Chimera’.

He read the document in silence, Jane settling in around her coffee with a slight smile on her features, like the cat that got the canary.

The EFF Op Orders detailed the creation of a special team to overlook Pezun while hidden in the Loum Shoal Field, and to capture and analyize any and all Zeon MS equipment they could get their hands on – from Pezun, or presumably from the Debris Field itself.

It also went on to state the commander of the operation was to report to Luna II if under duress or with significant findings. If they were cut off from Luna II, however, orders stated to fall back to EFF Forces located at Side 7.

And while signed by a Rear Admiral Jamitov Hymen, there was no issuance date.

Bright put the OpOrd document down and looked at Jane. She raised a single eyebrow at him as he considered what to say.

>What Say To The Nice Lady, Bright?

This infomation gives me a great deal to think about and plan for."

I don't follow this quest and am just dropping in, but why on Earth don't you get 1 NTP point for rolling a 100 on a D100. Also, RAW, characters would get .5 NTP if they rolled a 20 on a D100.
>>
>>22548970
I think these are the forged orders we had asked for.
>>
>>22548847
Seriously?

This won't withstand any healthy amount of probing, and then I'll be naked in the grasp of the enemy. I need something more vigorous to ride in on.
>>
>>22549023
>Why not 1 NTP on Roll 100 with 1d100
Because they have 10 times the opportunity to gain .25 NTP while reaching a target number, and I count all doubles in all rolls made in the thread - unless everyone's rolling everywhere all the time.

This isn't QUITE Orgre Civ Quest, just yet.

If anyone actually got a 100, they'd get either .5 NTP and Success OR Above Automatic Success. The latter is very, very powerful.

I'll adjust the rules as written though. Thank you, Wild Anon!

According to the Char's Deleted Affair Manga, Jamitov Hymen was a rear admiral during the OYW. To the best of my knowledge, Jamitov has enough power and clout to issue orders like this.

Am I wrong? Please, if you know something I don't let me know.

here is the operation specs.

Operation Midnight Insertion

Objectives;
1 - Infiltrate Side 7, V Project Facility
2 - Capture/Destroy all Project resources

Second Objective becomes active at the same time Operation Doublefox and Meteor Shower Commence. Upon Capture of V-Project materials, use any available heavy movers to advance on the Hanger Access Elevator. This should coincide with Operation Doublefox as Access to the Hanger bay should be available. Load all captured resources and the infiltration team onto the Transport secured by Doublefox.

Operation Doublefox

Objectives;
1 - Ex-filtrate Operation Midnight Insertion
2 - Capture/Destroy Federation Warships
3 - Cripple Side 7 Military Plausibility

Prior to Operation Meteor Shower commencing, the Moon Breaker Commando Unit is to infiltrate Side 7's Hanger Bay through the use of Maintenance Airlocks, and prepare to seize control of both Hanger Door Control and the Heavy Loading Elevator Controls. Upon commencing of Operation Meteor Shower, both the Hammer Slammers and Burst Falcon Squad assault the Hanger Bay through the Doors which should rest in our control. At least one Federation Warship must be captured in order to assist with the Ex-filtration. Upon Departure, Moon Breakers are to detonate Explosives to either Destroy or Cripple the Hanger. All forces with then randevou with the Seigfried to return to Zeon Controlled Space.

Operation Meteor Shower

Objectives;
1 - Disable enemy communications
2 - Distraction of External units

He's a real character, but if you spell his last name Hymen, it sounds too much like a joke. I was confused because it would have fit the tone of the quest if you'd made up his name.

If you think about some of these names, the designers clearly had the jokes in mind. I mean, look at Quattro.

Quattro Bajeena. Slender. Denim. Jean.

But, being fair, that WAS another typo. It and all other instances should read 'Jamitov Hyman'.

In the middle of a Paragraph, Ramba Rahl forgot to Type! My mistake!

Also, I needed to use a real, named EFF Character here. There are plot reasons.

Are there any other reasons it shouldn't be Jamitov, while we're at it? Or was it just the typo that threw you?

Bright double checked the authorization codes section, and found three sets of challenge / counter-challenge ciphers, but no other codes. The name of the vessel to be used for the operation was not stated either, but that wasn’t surprising. Black Ops, and all that.

“While this appears to be, well, exactly the documentation I felt I needed for the plan I outlined to you,” Bright said, pausing.

“I sense a ‘however’,” Jane said.

Bright ducked his head in acknowledgement. “I have a few concerns. There’s no issuance date, but it’s signed.”

Jane nodded. “The order was indeed written by Admiral Hyman – it was shelved, though, in favor of accelerating something called the ‘V-Project’. As for the signature,” She shrugged, “I’m not sure where my contact got it. But signed orders are signed orders. And if presented during a high level of Minovsky radiation, they’d need to be taken at face value, wouldn’t they?” she asked.

“Then the federation may have made more advancements to their V-Project than we initially believed,” bright said, tapping his chin in thought. “Either way, the Loum Shoal Field was our planned route, so no time will be lost searching for sings of an EFF espionage team around the general areas overlooking Pezun.” He thought on it some more, and chuckled. “Heh. It could even be combined with the test runs on the Zudahs. This information gives me a great deal to think about and plan for. Which leads into a question – if these were to be verified, would they pass?”
>>
“On Side Seven, Locally, yes, thanks to the signature. But, again, it isn’t on the books, officially. I was attempting to convince my contact to work a little hacking magic and pre-date this thing, getting it into electronic circulation so it could past a cursory inspection, but…” she shrugged. “I wasn’t able to convince him the information I could offer in exchange would be worth the risk.”

“Which leads me to another question,” Bright said. “What are these documents going to cost me?”

Jane held up an SD card between her fingers. As soon as bright saw it, she flicked it to him. He caught it, and inserted it and his hardware encryption key into the data slot on the table.

Transfer papers for one Conty, Jane, Cpt. Zeon Intelligence to the Siegfried, indefinite term, opened up before him. Signed by… Kycilla Zabi.

Bright’s brain froze for a moment.

He looked up to her. “Well. Pleasure to be working with you, Major.”

“The pleasure is mine, I assure you, Captain,” she returned.

>Did I cover everything adequately?
>Any further questions for your new Intelligence Operative?
>>
>>22549858
The Federation uniforms, and any way of either getting a working Salamis, or the parts needed to fix one up in the Loum Shoal Field?
>>
>>22549908
That is important.
>>
> The Federation uniforms, and any way of either getting a working Salamis, or the parts needed to fix one up in the Loum Shoal Field?

“Were you able to secure any Federal Issue uniforms?” Bright asked.

Jane shook her head. “Sadly, no. The few that are available in space are ‘prized war trophies’ from rare ramming and ship to ship insertions.” Another of her little, one shoulder shrugs, “I couldn’t pry them out of their owner’s cold, dead hands. You’d have better luck fishing at Loum.”

Bright nodded, thinking to himself. He knew that full repair of a derelict hull was going to be impossible outside of a drydock facility. But if they were able to find a ship with minimal damage, say a strike on the main bridge, but else wise intact, or a few hits to the forward bow – his mechanics, and the techs on loan from Pexun, should be able to patch one up enough to be mobile. This particular set of Op Orders actually allowed for a ‘derelict hull’ disguise, and as such worrying about cosmetic fixes was tertiary, leaving only air tight and capable of moving at speed as the main goals.

Bright also knew most spacecraft utilized similar parts. The Republic of Zeon had only declared it’s independence eleven years prior, and the current Magellan battleship and Salamis cruisers were twenty years old. Many Zeon ships tended to use the same engine parts, if he remembered correctly, so as long as he had enough spare, the main thing he had to count on was luck.

Or patching up a Kommusai from a derelict Musai cruiser, and claiming they stole it from Pezun, along with the MS. That was always a fall back option. He added it to plan A23, and C22.
>>
>>22550199

“Fair enough,” he replied at length. “Do you know of any major changes to EFF vessel parts manufacture?”

Jean nodded, taking Bright by surprise. “Funny you should mention that. An agent stationed in Von Braun reported an increase in lunar Titanium, and some very specific parts orders issued to Anaheim Electronics. He was unable to secure copies, but said it wasn’t anything he’d seen requisitioned for a Salamis before. Something about a ‘Craft system’, he thought.”

“Huh.” Bright grunted. Interesting, but uninformative. He quickly typed out a note requisitioning extra engine parts and tools, and sent it to the ready room for someone to fill.

>Anything else? Or Skip to 1900, and take off?

And those are just the ones I can remember. There's probably more in the fluff.

>>
>>22550705
Tanks have fuckton damaging cannons and outrange typical MS at the downside of having a huge firing range gap...or did(it used to be in the previous few incarnations that the tanks would have a blind spot in the range of 3-4, cannons going 4-6 or 5-7 and the machineguns covering 102) Rated Damage on the cannon is comparable to Neue Ziel's smaller beam cannon, PRIOR to factoring Unit Attack Stat.

Additional Unit Costs for reference:
Zaku I: 11700
Gouf: 14600
Dom: 15400

Oh, and cheapest unit/most expensive on my list so far?
Dopp: 9500
GP03D: 128800

This is only a 70%-ish completion, so none of the endgame boss stuff.

If you want some Capital Ship information, most of it is available right off the bat.

Most Expensive: Turn A's Soliel, Princess Diana's personal ride, at 900,000
Least Expensive: Gallop, at 60,000

In between for Zeon/EF for OYW and possible reference material for your siegfried.

Gallop(menutioned above)
Jotunheim-class transport(from IGLOO): 61,200
Salamis: 64,800
Musai: 66,300
Magellan: 72,000
Gaw: 73,200
Big Tray: 96,600
Gwazin: 287,700
Doros: 300,000
Zanzibar: 461,700
White Base: 470,700

Prices are based on weaponry and size it seems, the main factor seems to be terrain capability.
>>
>>22551048
A dolos being cheaper than a zanzibar? I am not convinced this should be used. I mean, yeah, the dolos isn't as good a ship as a zanzibar, but it should still consume far more resources to build.

These costs seem to be heavily gameplay oriented.
>>
>>22551123
That they are. Sadly, G-Gen currently only allows 5 or 9 measly MS to a ship, no matter how large they are. And the friggin' Dolos is supposed to be a ship with a 100 MS force.

The first game of the current system, the UC-only spirits, allowed for 12 MS to a ship, but they downgraded that to make room for ship-board master units.

In the mean time, have a look at this youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zBIQCm54dfY#t=13s

That is an artist's rendition of Arthur C. Clarke's Rama from Rendezvous with Rama. Rama is 30 miles long, which is half again the size of a classic O'Neil Island 3 Spherical Colony, but gives a good representation of what a closed type, like Zum City or the rest of Side 3, would look like.

>>22551173
This is the Okawara art for the Musai Kai's MS deck.

I have no idea what they were thinking.

Flip them sidewways, head to toe on the walls, and you could fit 4 Zaku II's in there, easy. it's SPACE. There's no gravity. A simple loading arm and push / retrieve and load an MS just fine.

Sigh. Now you know why ZUDAH BAY.

Still, the information has merit as a starting point on required resources to make things in the UC universe - which I was a bit lacking in before. As such, greatly appreciated, KBT.

>>
>>22551450
I'm betting there will be an increase in opportunities to spend NTP, once this mission really goes tits-up. Which it will.

It's very easy to adjust the "difficulty" to match the amount of NTP available.
>>
>>22551450

this quantity of NTP's, for us, is just a representation of the amount of thought, effort and planning we are putting into the operation.
i would assume that our chances to use the NTP's would be limited to when we can use them. one example is that we could spend 1 NTP on getting Jean behind enemy lines to flank them. we could not use our NTP on getting Jean to take them all out OR if we were in a MS, we could not use a NTP on attacks.
We are a Tactical Genius, not an Ace MS Pilot.
>>
>>22551481
Yes, but the EFF are incompetent.

Whereas the /TG/ dice are 'Equal Opportunity Antagonists'.

I expect the majority of Bright's NTP to be spent as a 'undo the bad roll' button or 'No, Auto Success FTW'.

Also, the effectiveness of the spent / burned NTP is entirely situational. It will make a grand plan better, but make a weak plan only passable. It can be used to increase the susceptibility of a certain character to be persuaded (they can spend NTP to prevent this) or reduce plot armor.

They're FATE points. And they can only be used when the majority votes them to be used.
>>
>>22551655
Yes, /tg/ dice.

“Would you mind giving a briefing to the infiltration team?” Bright asked. “Particularly on Earthnoid slag, speech patterns, our EFERMIRAL documentation clearances-“

“The works?” She asked with a smirk.

Bright shrugged. “You’re the intelligence officer. They need intelligence,” he paused, thinking. “Especially Jean Hatzenbuehler. He needs all the intelligence he can get.”

Jane laughed slightly, and gathered herself up. “I’ll put a briefing together then. It should be ready at about sixteen hundred hours,” she said. “May I be dismissed, sir?”

“Of course,” he said, typing out directives on the table for the commando teams, pilots, and command staff to meet in… let’s see, Cargo bay five was still mostly empty? How? Oh well, Cargo bay five, in one hour.

He then finished his coffee, which had cooled significantly since he had set it down earlier. It was very, very good.

Bright set about to do the few tasks that remained for him in the mean time. Organizing personnel, issuing warnings, listening to Jean complain about Pamila, and seeing Pamila not care in the slightest…

At 1550 hours, Bright entered cargo bay five with a few crewmen who had a podium, projector, and chairs. He set the projector up himself as the others set the podium and chairs up. Jane entered a few minutes later, followed by the rest of the requested personnel.

Lannie was still getting ribbed by Coralie, and shared a long suffering look with Jean, who was sitting between an annoyed Pamila and an amused Lourie. Maryln was in the row behind them, next to Wyatt, and both looked concerned.
>>
>>22551707

The briefing began, and Jane provided a detailed and informative overview of the behavior, linguistic quirks, and jargon expected and in use by EFF personnel. The expected ‘Zeek’ was mentioned, but the fact ‘Dude’ and ‘Mac’ were still in common use was a bit surprising.

[Commandos, Pilots, and Command personnel are now Informed! They will ass muster if questioned by, or talking to, EFF personnel!]

As Jane finished, Bright took the podium, and began his own briefing. “The EFF assemble their troops from across the colonies and the globe. We have some information on the various colonies from before the information blackout in double-oh seventy eight, and also a plethora of information on Earth. I want each of you to pick a location, somewhere, and create a back story for yourself. It doesn’t need to be extensive, but it needs to pass causal conversation. I expect you to hold background checks with each other over the next few days. Do not skimp on this procedure. And for the love of Zeon, do NOT say you’re from Australia,” he said, staring at Jean.

“What? It was the one time. The ONE time! She was cute!” the man protested.

Bright sighed. “Any questions?”

There were none, and Bright allowed them to leave. As they did, he walked to Jane and asked, “Any word on the personnel transfers that tipped off your agents in Side Seven?”She shook her head. “Just that there were a lot more scientists and materials engineers than a single under-construction colony would need,” she paused, and thought a moment. “Several reports did mention civilians were being displaced from their homes near the south dock by the EFF soldiers stationed in the base which had been constructed there last year. Many of the civilians were resentful for it.”
>>
>>22551733
“Displaced….” Bright said, thinking.

“It means, ‘forcibly moved’,” Jane added helpfully.

Bright gave her a wry look, but continued, “That’s probably where we need to focus our efforts. The civilians were most likely moved out to keep them from seeing things.”

“Why not build them underground? Or in a base hangar?” she asked.

Bright shrugged. “I know that’s what I would do. They’re probably thinking of putting their prototypes on display before rolling them out, and painting them some Daikun-awful color combination that looks pretty but would stick out like a sore thumb on the field.”
>>
>>22551744
Bright assigned a crewman to escort Jane to her newly allotted room before he bid her goodbye, and returned to his own room. Checking the computer, he noticed an email from both Christine Ask, the Pezun Technical Sergeant, and also from Char.

He opened the missive from Char first. It was a simple acknowledgement of the Bright’s pervious email to him, an agreement to set for Side Seven at 1900, and a bid of ‘good luck’.

Christine’s email was more involved, with a bit of math on stress tolerances and cable length, but the gist of it was: his idea on testing the Triple by attaching it to the hull had merit, and the Pezun crew were figuring out how best to do it. They needed six hours to work on it, as well as another four for the second Zaku – Zudah tether unit.

1900 Hours came, and a shipboard announcement was issued across the comms. “The Siegfried is now leaving Solomon. Repeat: The Siegfried is now leaving Solomon. All on duty personnel to stations.”

The great ship was lifted off deck by powerful hydraulic lifts, bringing it above the blast line, and the retro rockets flared.

A few minutes later, the Siegfried was in space. She turned about gracefully, and opened her engines for Loum.

>>22552216
Yeah. 9 hours travel time to Loum from Solomon is standard for a Musai. Rolling a d6 is a minimum 30% speed increase over a regular Musai 93xFaster! Ha!) if you rolled a 6. Less = Faster. In this case, 33% Faster? 38%? Something, I cannot into the maths at the moment.

1 would have blown an engine, though. Because 1 is always critical failure.

>>22552271
No, I had a minimum modifier attached to that roll. a 1 there would have been ludicrous, however, and I would have re-rolled it.

It's already ridiculous by UC Standards as is. 27 seconds to launch 5 MS? 36 Seconds to RETRIEVE all 5 of them? Two minutes to re-arm, tops?

You have the revolving door of Musai's, man. Ceff is an evil, evil genius with machines.

Did you sneak by the EFF picket at side 4 undetected? The average roll was 12.75....
>>
>>22552393
I can add to that horror.
Get the Pezun Engineers to alter the zudah bay doors to not be a pop-top(thus blocking the guns) and make it a split hinge.(the doors will provide extra armor to the side while folded out)

Result: the Guns keep going, the only thing blocking them are Zudahs coming and going.
>>
>>22552539
Actually, it is a side hinge - the capacitors that drive the armatures and the Zudah Dias' (Heh, heheheheheheh) are the same ones that collect power to fire the guns.

Lots of power = lots of movement, very quickly.
>>
>>22552576

why not just make a giant MS gun which actually FIRES MSs. they can be kept in 'Magazine Racks'. then to re-enter they just jump into an empty Rack where automated machines rearm and reload them so they can be fired out again...
>>
>>22552576
Ah, so it's just a power distribution issue...

I just had another disturbing thought to speed up resupply. If it is a side hinge, how wide does it go? Because if we secure some weapon/ammo racks to the ciieling....

That's a good idea. And the kind of concept you build the ship around. Like the A-10 warthog. or the Nazca class carrier ZAFT uses in Seed.

http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/seed/nazca.htm

The grey bands open up to reveal a magnetic accelerator, which basically makes the MS catapult for the Nazca class a Rail Gun that Fires Mobile Suits. And the ship is built around it.

I jokingly said that it was effectively a prototype of the Big Rang's Oggo repair, rearm, reload setup. So, yeah. It's kinda a prototype of the Big Rang's Oggo RRR setup, just without the conveyors and built into a Musai's center dorsal.

Sorry, screwed up my directions. Bah.

Two hours into the trip, the sensor operator called out, “Sir! Minor sensor return at nine o’clock, high ten, sir!”

“Distance!” Mohai snapped.

“Nine hundred, forty four meters, and falling behind, sir!” was the reply.

Mohai whistled. “The Longfellow was only able to pick things up at the seven hundred met
“Quite the improvement,” Bright said. “Minovsky radiation density?”

“Currently low, sir – background emissions from Solomon at our six o’clock, and some interference from something at twelve o’clock 11 high, sir.”

“Probably some radioactive debris from Loum, scattering out,” Bright said, thinking.

>Enemy at long distance sensor range! Direction: Side Four’s Loum Picket Line.
>He is falling behind! At current speed, you will out pace him easily!
>Do you wish to engage?

>Also, this is a rough diagram of how your sensor's work.

>When given the first direction (9 o'clock) the grey sphere centers on it, so that 9 and 9 are the same position. The second descriptor, 'High ten', means it is above the middle of the ship, at the 'ten o'clock' position of the grey ring.

>12 o'clock, 11 high means the Loum Debris is in front of you, at a 45 degree angle.
>>
>>22563044
And if I don't get another vote for actions in 20 minutes, I'll go full burn until you're out of sensor range of the enemy ship. That will cut an hour off your trip to Loum, as well, putting you there in 4 hours.
>>
>>22563335
I second it.
>>
>>22563376
Bright came to a conclusion. “Give me full power to the engines, until we lose them. Current distance to target?”

“Nine fifty, sir, same position.”

“Engage full burn,” Bright ordered.

A brief claxon wailed, with: “Warning! The ship is to make a full burn, all hands to secure positions!”

Mohai strapped himself into his oversize chair as Bright buckled his own belt. “Think they strapped it down tight enough?”

“We’ll find out shortly,” Mohai said.

Another warning klaxon, and the ship surged forward, the Siegfried’s engines blooming like a newborn star.

“Enemy at nine five five…. Nine six oh, nine seven two… Nine ninety. Enemy lost, sir!”

“Reduce to fleet speed,” Bright ordered. The pressure against him eased as the ship returned to a more sedate speed. “Heading?”

“Two degrees off target, captain,” the helmsman said, adjusting the great wheel that directed the ship. “Adjusting now.”

Yes. That.

[DC 15 Pass]

One hour and forty five minutes later, bright is awoken by the phone. “Bright,” he mumbled.

“Sir, we’ve arrived at the outskirts of the Loum Shoal Field,” the on duty comm. officer stated.

Bright let that sink in for a minute. “On my way.”

He arrived on the bridge, rubbing sleep out of his eyes. “Status?”

“We’re holding speed relative to the shoal field, sir. Sensors are analyzing the debris, looking for a way through.”

Bright nodded, and started out the window. Before him, the seemingly endless expanse of space was filled with thousands of tiny, glittering motes – and several large shadows, the remnants of the colonies that once called this place home.

He sat down to do some math at his workstation. 4 hours to Loum, 3 of it on fleet, twenty minutes of full burn… Assuming the Siegfried could cut though Loum easily, they might well end up at Side 7 in 14 days.

Which gave him time to test the Zudah’s in the debris field, if he wanted.

“Route analyzed,” the sensors operator called out. “Switching to Computer Assisted Piloting.”

“CAP engaged, aye,” repeated the helmsman, stepping away from the wheel, but keeping a sharp eye out for any debris that might swing into their path to quickly for the computer to adjust for.

Bright picked up the phone and called to the ready room. “Jean,” came the swift reply.

“I want a close escort of the Zaku’s while we enter the debris field,” Bright told him, “Send out some of the rookies, and let them get some space. And tell them to keep their eyes peeled.”

Jean groaned, but said, “Fine. I’ll have Lourie head them up.”

Bright hung up, and a few minutes later, his comm. officer reported “Captain Seabrooke, Sergeant Councilman, and PFC Pheonix report ready to launch, sir.”

“Launch Zaku two’s.”

The tree Zaku’s launched from the hanger behind the bridge, and flew into an escort pattern, a broad delta formation that placed Laurie at 12 o’clock, with Kareem at 9 and Pamila at 3. “Eyes open, people,” Lourie said.

“Of course,” was Kareem’s reply.

“Understood,” said Pamila.

Bright watched the window like a hawk. He felt a bit uneasy, and knew Luom was a harsh, unforgiving place. Thankfully, the radiation levels were still in the safe zones, for now.

Ten minutes went by, as the Zaku team swooped and dodge, pushing larger pieces of debris from the ship, and radioing back status reports before Bright spotted something.

“Two o’clock, seven low!” he snapped, seeing the movement.

Pamila’s Zaku immediately swooped in to investigate, finding… [98: Salamis light cruiser!]

“Sir, I’ve found a derelict ship,” Pamila’s voice called over the comm., “Minor damage to the hull midships, and some damage to the engines.”

“Full stop!” Bright called. “Zaku’s: See if you can haul that wreck closer to the Siegfried for a closer examination.”
>>
“Aye aye, full stop,” the helmsman repeated, pulling the throttle down.

“Roger,” came Lourie’s reply.

Sending the Moon Breaker’s in, in case obstructions needed clearing, and also having the mechanics and techs from Pezun head over to investigate reveals…

[Hull integrity: 47%. Engine damage: 90% (10% usable)]

Christine used a small portable Minovsky generator to bring the Salamis’ comm. suite back online, and reported their findings. “We can probably patch the hull up in a few hours – there’s enough air left in the tanks that we can repressurize. The engine, though… We have the parts to fix it, but that will take 56 hours, minimum.”

>>
>>22564653

>>
>>22564874
You requisitioned enough parts from Solomon to rebuild the Siegfried's engines from the ground up. The parts for Zeon and EFF engines come from the same manufacturers, and while built differently, your shipboard mechanics are more than capable of faking a Salamis pattern engine block.

It will take 3 days for your shipboard mechanics to fix the Salamis by themselves. With the Pezun tech's help that can be shaved down to 2 days.

>>22564816
You could try that idea. You have no real notion on how much thrust the Triple puts out, and the idea was to link it to the Sigfried in order to test it. If it DOES explode, while attached to a scrapped ship, that would certainly minimize potential damages to the Siegfried. It's up to you. The ship to Zudah tether will be done in an hour, I believe.

You can always tow the derilict behind the Siegfried, using the Zaku's for fine movement - although the Zaku pilot's won't appreciate it much.

>>22564795
You can still roll to find debris. The battle of Loum destroyed 70% of the EFF Space force, after all. That's a lot of Scrap. There's a reason Delaz holed up here.

“Get her linked up to the Siegfried,” Bright ordered. “We’ll tow her until we can find a calmer area to work in. Captain Seabrooke.”

“Yes, sir?” Lourie asked over comms.

“Good job. Keep a sharp eye out for any other useful debris. If you or your pilots become fatigued, come back – we’ll swap you out with someone fresh.”

Lourie smiled. “Roger that, sir.”

****

Another few hours passed, as the two ships made a slow, careful trip deeper into the shoal zone.

[16] At one point, Pamila realized the large cylinder she had been moving away from the scrapped ship’s path was actually a Salamis engine nacelle. She radioed her find to Christine, and brought it in, where the techs lashed it to the side of the hull. [-4 hours repair time!]

[18] Kareem spotted something, and radioed permission to investigate. A few minutes later, he returned, towing an [RB-79 Ball]. Lourie’s Zaku kept its mono eye on the two machines for a long moment, before she flew off to her position at 12 o’clock.

Kareem brought the ball to the Salamis, where a tech hopped in and clamped the manipulators to the hull. “Thanks!” he said, waiving. “This will speed up the heavy moving!”

[Ball improves repair speed! -5 hours!]

[50] An hour passes, with no immediate dangers present.

[41] Another hour passes. A chunk of debris Lourie missed slips by, and cuts one of the Salamis tow cables. It is repaired in short order.
>>
>>22565749

[74] Another thirty minutes pass, until Bright called Mohai over, and pointed out the window. “Are you seeing that?”

“Looks like a section of Colony wall, sir,” Mohai said, nodding.

“Sensors, give me a sweep for debris.”

“Wait one, sir…” [Roll of 98] “Debris appears stabile. It extends beyond our sensor grid, sir. Set course?”

“Yes. Let’s see what we’ve found.”

****

[20] Pamila spots something! It’s a Magellan battleship!

Kareem followed Pamila, saying “You cannot simply fly off, you must ask permission to break formation first.”

“I don’t follow your orders, old man,” Pamila snapped.

The Magellan was booby trapped! The main cannon fires!

Kareem rolled a 2 + 5 (piloting). 7!

Pamila rolled a 13 + 8 (piloting). 21!

Pamila felt the oncoming danger, and quickly blasted out of the way. Kareem, coming up behind her, had barely anytime to dodge at all. A quick prayer to his ancestors and allah, and a reliance on his knowledge of where he should be, put him just outside of the beam cannon strike.

The green bolt sizzled closely by, eating through his Zaku’s left leg power connector! Thrust is reduced by 2!.

“This is why you do not move without permission, child!” Kareem snapped at Pamila, his hands shaking on the controls with the adrenaline of a near miss. “Now, back to the ship.”

A chagrined Pamila complied, reporting the location of the Magellan. Lourie, Pamila, and Christine in the RB-79, tow it in towards the Siegfried.

[Magellan found! Condition: Hull 33%. Engines 40%. Main canons slagged from failed capacitors and booby-trap discharge!]

This particular piece seemed to be about 3km long, and would provide a nice sheltered area to make repairs and test out the Zudahs. That's interesting. Ace suits cost the same? The extra tuning they require to get the specks up higher must be half pilot skill and half extra maintenance time, then.

So, I assume the plan would be to salvage the usable parts off the Magellan's engine to repair the Salamis BEFORE strapping a potentially explosive mobile suit to it?

Or do you want to scrap the Salamis for the Magellan? The Magellan is larger, and has more armor, but a slower top speed. here are also fewer of them left than the Salamis pattern cruisers.
>>

The Magellan has slightly lower hull integrity, but it has 30% more engine remaining.

On the other hand, with there being less Magellans remaining, it would have been more likely for a spec ops unit like Midnight Insertion to be given a Salamis, especially because the cruiser is faster.
>>
>>22566141
That's because the Magellan was a Battleship to the Salamis' Cruiser. However, neither ship was ever built with MS Hangar in mind at this point in time, as apparently GMs and Balls were just locked to the side of the ship until it was time to deploy.

Besides, the Salamis gets the better deal, staying in service through upgrades and retrofits for 80 years.

Additional idea: use the Magellan as a "shell" for the Salamis.

Magellan spec: 307 meter length, 102 meter width, 96 meter height

Salamis spec: 288 meter length, 68.5 meter width, 61.3 meter height
>>
>>22566195
The Magellan has 4 engine nacelles, with 4 verniers each. That would be more explosive than the Salamis, with it's single engine nacelle, and 4 rocket verniers.

>>22566358

hmmm, how many suspected military hangers does side 7 have and how large are they?

we don't want to completely destroy their fleet assets as that would put a rather large hole in our extraction plan. depending on the size, use whichever one could destroy/cripple 50% of the hanger and it's docked ships.

According to your intel, the EFF on S7 took over the entire 'south dock'.

In this image, that would be the dock where the mirror's meet the colony wall. There is also a North Dock, which is a bit smaller, and tends to receive civilian shipments, as well as ship out the various goods manufactured by the colony. Food from the Ag Ring, stuff like that.

I think there are eight hangars in the South Dock block.

Actually...
Bright Noah now has 3.5 NTP!

Bright issued orders for the Hammer Slammer’s and Moon Breaker’s to suit up and search the Salamis and the Magellan battleships before he turned in for the night.

[17, 11] [Commandos found: 77 Uniforms with various rank insignias! Two months worth of food and water, unspoiled! Ten days worth of air on the Magellan! 9 Days worth of air left on the Salamis!]

And that’s the last post for the day. Thanks for playing, everyone!

Check the twitter at 3xFaster for general updates. I’ll try to get a BQ running Thurs – Sun, 9:30 am PST, at least once a week.
>>
>>22566619

how long would it take to get the Magellan into good enough shape to have it limp into side 7?

if there is enough time to fix it while testing the Zudahs, then i say we go with the Magellan.

rigging the engine with remote explosives should be enough to shut down one of the hangers. then Operation Doublefox can destroy /take over another dock(s) while Operation Meteor Shower can tie up any deployed forces.

>>22566736

a most excellent session Char. I await those documents you said you would be sending me.
Hopefully by the next thread, i should be able to make the necessary adjustments to keep it flowing.
>>
>>22566779
You're currently at 47 hours for your ship's main repair crews to fix the Salamis.

The Magellan's engines are about the same state of repair as the Salamis - there are more engines, on it, after all. So, say 55 hours to fix it, with just one crew, and no other useful debris found.

Also, I sent the document before starting back up. It should be in your inbox.
>>
>>22566878
don't forget to copy the new NTP totals into the prompt.
>>
>>22566878

excellent. i shall have it ready for the next thread then.
>>
Just sayan, the Salamis is likely to receive less attention than the Magellan. The Salamis is the feddis workhorse, while the Magellans are battleships, and thus mainly used in battle.

A infiltration unit would more than likely use a Salamis rather than a Magellan. So, you can count this as a vote for using the Salamis.
>>
I don't think we want the Magellan anyway. It's primary virtue is is heavy beam armament (which should be used to target MS Carriers btw). Since I think the Salamis still has weapons we should get that, so it will be marginally useful in a fight
>>
>>22569026

we will be using it to get onto side 7 AND to tie up their engineers fixing it as well as using it to take-out said engineers and hanger bay...
a completely slagged weapons system will mean more time the engineers spend near the time bomb...
>>
>>22569026
Well we can also send word to Zeon later on about the battleship's location.
Faster cruiser fits a black ops team, but a battleship? Can be a boon later on in the battlefield.
The more war supplies we steal, the longer zeon can fight, and Win! Seig Zeon!
>>
>>22569138

you make a fair point. I concede my opinion and change my vote to the Salamis.

Probably any devoted salvage operation, besides the radiation, would get notice of the other faction and the area is back to being a battlefield.
>>
>>22569658

just tossing it out there.

though i have just had a rather interesting thought. IF we manage to fully capture the V-Project, there is a possibility that the Feddies will focus on the capture/destruction of their stolen project. This means that we can bait Federation forces into preparing for our return to zeon space through Side 2, so while their fleets are facing Side 7, a contingent of the Space Attack Force can flank the Feddie blockade and in the process Liberate Side 2 from Feddie control.

>>
>>22570458

>>
meanwhile, I'll just be throwing out every possible horribly evil/crazy idea that adds to practical "tactical" genius.

And Char, I'll see if I can dig up a formula stat for how G-Gen calculates damage, because that while listed weaponry damage is the same, the fact that Unit Attack, Unit Defense, and Unit Mobility(the 3 G-Gen modifier stats for a unit) play such a big role will give a rough idea of the supposed tech for the units involved. Probably might give you some ideas on how to tweak zaku/zudah stats in the other system if you're interested.
>>
>>22570514

might of been a diffrent quest then. but i know that one of the quest runners has a thing where if you expand upon what you want to do, it becomes slightly easier to do. i.e.

>there is a guard standing at the door. what do?

>i convince him to let me though [DC 15/20]
or
>i tell the guard that i am here to relieve him of guard duty [DC 13/20]

or i could have made this whole thing up.

All all means - more information is always welcome. Best case, it refines the system. The MSM info I have is useful, but limited.

>>22570663
Ah, that kind of thing. Well, like I said in the intro post, somethings are very situational. If it's the perfect situation, and you make an excellent case for a suggestion, then it will lower the bar. Whereas no argument and a piss poor idea in a situation where it's unlikely to happen will raise the bar for the action.

Kinda like the son of the MS designer getting hit in the face by the MS instruction manual after the jeep it was in was blown sky high by a Zaku's machine gun round. And later, said kid finds said MS for which he has said manual, just sitting there, keys in the ignition, engine idling.

Sounds like a job for a Salamis cruiser... Now, where can you get one of those?

ANYWAY, back to the Loum mining / salvaging question: >>22569698 is more or less correct. If you look at this nifty map I just made up, you can see the areas in which both sides have power, along with neutral areas, and some of the fleet positions.

If either the Zeon or the Eff were to go in force to begin salvaging Loum, the other would send ships in and it would become a Second Battle of Loum.

Add to the fact the EFF don't actually CARE. It's a lot of resources, true, but that's what they have Earth and Luna II for, after all.

Various forces do make use of the parts and equipment there, over the years. Most notably Delaz, but there's also a certain young skamp and his rascally pals from Shangri-la who are 'junk dealers' and make a living off this kind of thing. I can only assume Anaheim Electronics was looting stuff as well, considering the plethora of Mono-eye designs they came up with over the years after the OYW. You make twice as much money when the parts are free!

Pezun sends small expeditions in as well - Loum makes an excellent random obstacle course and target practice area. 08th MS Team episode one occurs on the outskirts of the Loum Shoal Field, in an area I believe is later called the 'Zebra Zone'.

Fully stripping the Loum Shoal Field, assuming you could, would give you war materials in excess of what Zeon managed to mine during Operation Odessa - mainly since all of it is in usable form already, give or take the irradiated parts. It would also clean up an area of space that would otherwise remain littered up to UC 123 and beyond.

Negative? Flack about 'robbing the dead' and rubbing salt in old wounds, mostly. And the inevitable battle that would ensue once the EFF realized what you were up too. You'd also need to build a full scale dry dock to properly salvage hulls to make them battle-ready, NTM the confusion of Salamis' and Magellan's w/ Zeon.

i assume that the data on fleet numbers is only 'known/suspected values' rather than 'actual values', as that would mean that by transfering the majority of the A-Baoa-Qu fleet to join with the Pezun fleet we could take both side 2, Side 7 AND Luna 2... then we could move on to pincer Side 4, combine the majority of our fleets (except token defence fleets for all our our original and newly acquired terratory) and remove all Federation orbital military Presence.

now THAT would be something to take to the negotiation table...
>>
>>22570785
Welp, a little digging around and I have a rough formula, which means I'll be able to keep it simple, unless we want to go the whole nine yards with pilot stats and mood tension, because that needlessly complicates stuff.

In short, the base formula is:
Weapon Rated Damage * (1 + Unit attack/45 - Enemy Unit Defense/45) * 1.25(If critical)

Stat reference;
Magella attack tank:
30mm Vulcan: 1500
175mm Recoiless Cannon: 4000
Unit Attack: 11
Unit Defense: 10

Zaku II
Heat Hawk: 3200
Cracker: 5000
Zaku Machinegun: 2800
Zaku Bazooka: 4000
Unit Attack: 13
Unit Defense: 13

Zudah(combining the list since the leader version has the same stats)
Shield Claw: 3500
Zaku Machinegun: 2800
Zaku Bazooka: 4000
135mm Anti-ship Rifle: 4700
Unit Attack: 18
Unit Defense: 12

And...you mentioned Sturm Fausts, so I'll lift that from 0080 War in the Pocket's Zaku II Kai or Rick Dom II, which is the earliest I can find the weapon being mentioned. Next known spot would be 0083 Stardust Memories on Dom Tropens

Sturm Faust: 4200

Oh, right, I should throw out Musai stats as well.

Hey KBT, got an email? I have a quest idea....
>>
>>22571617
here ya go.
>>
>>22571231
Known/suspected. The side two garrison isn't very large, IIRC. The reason Zeon never attempted such an action is thus: Luna II is a gaint space fortress, it was moved to S7 for aiding construction, it can be moved back. Covered in guns. Also: Earth. Do you know how the EFF gets new ships into space? By launching them vertically off the surface of the Earth, that's how. They can just decide, if they feel like it, to launch ten Salamis to any point in space that they choose, just by waiting until the right time of day.

Mainly they use this to send new ships to S1, since they need the tonnage there to dissuade Zeon fleets from skipping past S1 and dropping troops off to the Geosynchronous Orbit or Low Earth Orbit zones for Earth Surface operations.

Thus, the majority of Zeon tonnage goes towards protecting troop shipments, and the majority of EFF tonnage makes it hard for them to do it efficiently.

If it's something you guys want to try, it'd be amusing to see how it turns out.

>>22571608
That plan has merit, considering those EFF Fleets are holed up around colonies to prevent just such a thing from occurring, by threat of mass spacenoid genocide. Their guns also vaporize any random debris that threaten the colonies, scoring brownie points with the civilians. Go EFF, and all that.
>>
>>22571648
Thanks.
>>
>>22571720
1. Tow debris into open space.
2. Attach engines, verniers, and control systems.
3. Attach high-density minovsky particle generators.
4. Aim debris at colonies.
5. Accelerate debris to immense velocity and use constant random course changes to assist in spoofing detection.
6. Impact.

If you do it on a large enough scale, you might be able to equal the effectiveness of super nuclear missiles or giant beam cannons, for a vastly inflated cost.
>>
>>22571824
...Doesn't that defeat the purpose of "liberating" the colonies?
>>
>>22571824
...and you want to take out the other colonies, why exactly? Zeon fights to free the spacenoids, not destroy them! (It's the party line, I'm paid to say it)

I mean, if you were able to isolate the EFF Fleets, and THEN use debris for a massive attack, that's one thing, but those sides are 90% Civilian population centers, and people there number in the millions.

>>22571945
I think he's gunning for a Manchurian campaign.

>isolate the EFF Fleets, and THEN use debris for a massive attack

Y'know, if we're able to capture V-Project materials, drawing EFF fleets into vulnerable positions becomes much more doable.
>>
>>22571994

do you think that if we capture the V-project and use it on the Feddies, they will pour their resources into super-projects for the sole purpose of destroying us?
Then Zeon can focus on mass production...

of the Big Zam...
>>
>>22571994
This could be true.

I say could because of two things: What Amuro says to Fraw in ep. 2 or 3 of MSG, when arguing why he won't board the Gundam, and ep. 1 of 08th MS Team. Gihren only gives that speech ONCE, and it's never rebroadcast to my knowledge.
>>
>>22572038
What if we intentionally leaked the plans for the Big Zam? Then, after the Feddies have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on making copies of Dozle Zabi's favorite murder-chair, we engage Operation Transportation Reclamation, steal all the Big Zam knockoffs, and win the war for free.
>>
>>22572181
No, if we pull off the Project V capture, what happens is that the goddamn Siegfried becomes the standard spec musai, the automated repair system renovated to take Zakus and, down the line, Rick Doms, and Gelgoogs.

This is an interesting question. For two reasons.

While the Gundam's learning computer did eventually catalog enough movement control mapping and automate certain combat responses that made it easier for Amuro to pilot, thus making him more effective it was really built for reason 2.

Reason 2 was to pass all that catalogued information into a hard rom chip that would enable All Subsequent MS to be on a similar standing with the ace it was programmed for.

It actually worked as advertised. In the Char's Deleted Affair Manga, the GM's that assault Axis have Amuro's OYW data in them. When being fired upon, they did Amuro's 'Shield Up, Dash to the XXXX' maneuver in the same manner and speed Amuro did it - actually taking control out of the hands of the GM pilot.

Char took one look, went 'I've seen this before', and shot it anyway. The other grunts were missing left and right, though.

So, ask not what the Gundam Learning Computer can do for me! Ask instead what the data the Gundam Learning Computer contains can do for Zaku!
>>
>>22572864

so what you are saying, is that if we install the gundams computer in your zaku, we can have every MS produced have you skill level? so we will have an army of Red Comets...

Ideally you would want as many ace-level people to cycle through the suit as possible during combat and mock combat training with dummy rounds and shooting 'to kill' - that way, any particular flaws of one pilot might be smoothed out by the skills of another. have the Learning Computer max out fast assaults under Char, dodge and evade under Ridden, and defensive tactics and fighting retreats under Shin...

Good luck with that, though.

we will have a civil war as long as Gihren is alive after the assault on Solomon, as his 'kill all earthnoids' policy clashes with Degwin's 'Independence for Spacenoids' one.
also of note is that fact that Degwin KNOWS about the colony laser, seeing as he authorized Gihren to make it.

A Neuro?
Heterochromatic?
A Transpace Guard deep cover operative?
A Trap?

We should ask Jane about the ONI Corps, and how the whole "being a cyber newtype" thing is going for her.

Did you read the GundamWiki page, or did you play Zeonic Front?

Either way, you're bright Noah. How would Bright Noah know to ask about that? Also, Jane isn't a Cyber-Newtype. She's an 'Enchanced Human'. Less powerful, but less prone to psychosis and migraines.

Anyway, since no one's guessed it, what Pamila is will remain a mystery - for now.

Lost War Chronicles, bro. I have the manga.

And isn't "Enhanced Human" the name for Cyber Newtypes in Japan? 強化人間, I think. I know there's at least a few manga and a data installment that uses that term.

Don't wanna destroy your plans, but kinetic kill and nuclear weapons are banned via antarctica treaty. Using scrap to bombard the earthnoid fleet is getting dangerously close to a contract breach.

You do not want to breach the antarctica treaty.

I think the Japanese term for Cyber NewTypes was 'Artificial Newtype', which leads me to believe the Enhanced Human projects, like ONI, were something else, thus different.

Also interesting is the fact that Lost War Chronicles begins before the Flanagan Institute opens it's doors.

As far as I am concerned, 'Enhanced Humans' are something other than Cyber NewTypes. Jane never showed any of the detrimental CNT signs during the manga, either.

Now I can't have Bright yell at them for thinking of breaching the treaty. Ah well.
