The system:
See Image or the Pastebin for a detailed ruleset. pastebin.com/e3q4q0MP
That'll tell you more than you wanted to know.

Basic rules still apply (Grey Box): Roll d20: Highest dice roll out of the first three rolls is used for the Dice Check (DC), while all three rolls are averaged to determine other internal factors, if applicable. Natural 20’s and Critical Failures (1) supersede all other rolls made.

Roll d100: d100’s are used for different factors, the most applicable of which will be listed at the call for the roll. High is always better.

Rolling for Time: When asked to roll for time, the first roll response will be used, with additional rolls used as necessary. This is the only time low rolls are desired.

NewType powers, since they are plot breaking, will be based on a point system.
For every natural 20 you roll, you'll get .5 NTP. If you roll an 11 on a d20, it will be worth .25 of a NTP. Double rolls on a D100 will also garner .25 NTP.

You can exchange 1 NTP for an automatic critical success / plot breaking idea. You can also exchange 1 NTP to reduce an opposing main character's plot armor by 1/4 or 1/2 on any actions you take against them - the amount reduced will be situational, and depend on what you're planning on doing.

Here's the general gist of what we're working with:
Bright Noah joins Zeon instead of the Earth Federation (For Reasons Yet Unexplored), and is promoted to Captain of the Musai class cruiser ‘Longfellow’ for his actions during the One Week Battle / Battle of Loum. Newly minted Majors Bright and Char Aznable are ordered by Dozle Zabi to perform a joint investigation of the rumored Earth Federation Mobile Suit in development at Side 7.

Last Time, On Bright Quest....
We had our first case of ship to ship and MS combat! Which ended with the disabling of two RB-79 Balls and the destruction of one more, along with the death of a lot of Saberfish class fighters. Jean also managed to snipe the Engines of the enemy Salamis cruiser, leaving them dead in the water! Well, metaphorically, at least. So, there were 4 votes to [X] Request their Surrender, as Bright is an Officer and a Gentleman. We will pick up doing just that, but first, I need two d100's rolled - the first to determine just how badly the Salamis was hit, the second to determine how amenable the EFF Captain will be towards the idea of surrender.

As always, it's good to see you all, and to have you all here, participating in my silly Giant Robot Game.

--------------------

Bright considered Jean’s request to stand down. “No… Rather, get the Zudah’s on the hull – rearm with Bazooka’s. Jean, I want you positioned above the bridge, with the one thirty five – if they launch rockets, snipe the launchers and their particle cannons. Get the Zaku’s to snag any disabled Balls, then fall in for Escort duty. Siegfried, move ahead one quarter speed! Destination: the enemy Salamis. Let’s see what we’ve found.”

“Course set for enemy cruiser, aye,” echoed the helmsman. “All ahead one quarter.”

The Zudah’s carefully launched from their bay, rearmed with Zaku bazooka’s as ordered. Jean’s machine flew by the main window, offering a salute. The 135 mm anti-ship cannon was slung over one arm, and the mono-eye swiveled to scan the bridge, throwing a pinkish hue over the command staff for the brief moment it passed over them.

A heavy reverberation echoed through the bridge as the Zudah set down and clamped to the hull. “In position,” Jean reported.

Bright nodded, and then asked of the communications officer, “Minovsky dispersion?”

“High, captain. The enemy cruiser must have had their spreader set to max to help hide themselves.”

He considered this. High Minovsky particle radiation levels completely jammed all forms of electronic emissions, like radio waves. Communications by radio would be restricted to extremely close range – laser based communications would need to be used, as high frequency laser light was the least effected by Minovsky radiation, although high enough levels could prevent even Laser comms from working. As such, he inquired “Can we use the laser comm. to contact the enemy ship?”
>>
>>22823469

“We will be within range to do so shortly, sir. Approximately three minutes until optimal laser strength is reached with this level of M Particle dispersion, sir.”

Bright had a few moments to compose himself, and think of a good spiel.

[Rolls - +25 for Jean’s Marksmanship!]
[Salamis – 31 + 25 = 56. Engines disabled, ship at half power]
[EFF Captain – 41 + 25 = 66. Fairly amenable to suggestion! Best come up with a good speech!]
[Prison Ship with salvaged Magellan is a possibility! You have the Salvaged Salamis’ Capsule, the Magellan’s Capsule, the Siegfried’s Kommusai, and the enemy Salamis’ capsule available for use as transport!]

Bright requested Jane Conty make herself available on the bridge, and after a minute, she arrived. He then drew her and Mohai Bret aside and discussed generalities on Terms of Surrender and the Antarctic Treaty.

Consensus is as follows: Antarctic treaty states all POWs must be treated humanely.
In space, this is taken to mean prisoners must be allowed food, air, water, power (for proper heating and cooling), and access to restroom facilities.

When the parties agree to terms, the surrender may be conditional, i.e. if the surrendering party promises to submit only after the victor makes certain promises. Otherwise it is a ‘surrender at discretion’ (unconditional surrender); the victor makes no promises of treatment other than those provided by the laws and customs of war.

A belligerent will only agree to surrender unconditionally if completely incapable of continuing hostilities.

The Antarctic Treaty upholds the resolution made in the Third Geneva Convention, stating that prisoners of war should not be mistreated or abused. Zeon policy requires that surrendered persons should be secured and safeguarded while being evacuated from the battlefield. Similar regulations exist in the Earth Federation Forces.

[I’m heading out for a smoke. Back in 20 minutes.]
>>
>>22823900

hmmm. Prisoners will disrupt the initial plan... do we have enough forces to leave a token guard force on the wrecked Magellan to 'look after' our Feddie guests? Definately ask about the prison ship idea. We don't want any feddies with us while we are preforming the operations.

On the plus side, we can interrogate the ships captain and intelligence officer for information that could help us in our plans...
>>
>>22823960
we we could leave them in the ruins we already pressurized one ship kick them over there
when we leave them in the feld send a message for some one to pick them up we could really use that ship and any documents they have
>>
>>22823960
I'd say just go with the prison ship idea and just slag and weld absolutely everything but the minimum required by the Antarctic Treaty. Hopefully, Zeon Command will send someone by to retrieve the Magellan and occupants when we get that message out.
>>
>>22823960
Again, there's nothing stopping us from taking one of them capsules and sealing the viewports with, like, an extra metal casing?

Also, more balls! get them space worthy and working on the Salamis after we get the prisoners dealt with!

Sidenote: Is it really a good idea to have Jean showcasing the Zudah?
>>
>>22823900
Terms as follows:
1. EFF POW's will be transferred to the Magellan (after we've made sure that the engines, communications, and nav-com are all disabled).
2. POW's will be provided with food, water, air, and a working fusion reactor for power.
3. A message will be sent to Pezun for them to come and pick up the Magellan; we will only move out when Pezun confirms that they have received the message and that a towing vessel is on its way.
>>
>>22824053
Sounds good to me.
>>
>>22824053

we shall do this, though i still think we should leave a squad of Zeon soldiers to keep the reactor secure...

You can leave them in the Magellan. As discussed in the last thread, it is pressurized, and has several days worth of air, water, and food on-board. Those were not moved yet, as the Siegfried's stores are, while not maxed out, well and above what you need (Bright ordered 4 months worth of air, food, and water for the Siegfried).

The Magellan's engines were in a worse state than the derelict Salamis you originally found - primarily due to the fact Magellan's have 4 engine nacelles (sections) to the Salamis' single engine nacelle. The usable parts were moved to the Salamis to make repairs, leaving the Magellan a floating hull unable to move on it's own power. It's capsule, a small ship which can (uncomfortably) holding 100 people and is re-entry capable, is working - although I assume you'll take or destroy the capsule after leaving the area. It's communication's equipment was badly damaged, enough so that your shipboard mechanics had to enlist the help of the Pezun techs to set up a portable laser com suite to enable communications between it, the Salvaged Salamis, and the Siegfried.

Wielding the doors to the bridge, engineering, and other critical areas to ensure anyone aboard cannot call out for help / self destruct the ship is doable by your engineers.

The debris and background radiation in the Loum Shoal Field makes radio communications out of it impossible, which means if anyone found anything of value, they'd need to enter the field to retrieve it and exit the field to report it. This is why the Shoal Fields are left more or less alone in cannon.
>>
>>22824220
As such, is the Zudah IS seen, photographed, etc, no one will know about it until the EFF personnel get a chance to report it, which they won't if all goes according to plan.

You can contact Pezun via laser com link after exiting the Shoal Field, as it is on the same side of Earth as your planned exit point. There is too much debris to contact Pezun at the moment - unless you decide to send a capsule craft or the Kommusai.

The number of personnel on a Salamis is equivalent to the number of personnel on an Aircraft Carrier: approx. 3,200.
>>
>>22824220
so we take there ship transfer there food and air and crew into the salvaged ship

hide a few ms in there ship after fixing its Engines
then trojan horse the shit out of side 7
>>
>>22824239
Should we have a Kommusai get out of the debris field and contact Pezun, then report back to us? Or should we contact Pezun after the Seigfried clears the debris field?
>>
>>22824288
You'll need to investigate the enemy Salamis before you can assess (roll for) the damage to the engine. At the moment, Jean put a very large bullet straight through them, leaving the cruiser more or less at your mercy.

>>22824301
You can do either. Though do note, a Kommusai can hold two mobile suits, and Pezun IS an R&D focused asteroid base, which hold the defensive line between Zeon and Side 2.
>>
>>22824301

have the Seigfried contact Pezun once we have left the debris field. it will return there once we have infiltrated side 7 for the Zudah testing. that way, it can keep an eye on the captured Salamis and the prison ship until the reclamation teams arrive to take the prisoners and the shiny, only slightly damaged, Salamis back for repairs and to be used for infiltration and sabotage missions.
>>
>>22824338
How much time would having the Kommusai go and get off the message take?

We have a few days here while we perform our Zudah tests and repair the Salamis, so some days should be fine.

Huh. Sounds like that's enough to use the Kommusai while we concentrate on getting the Salamis ready and moving the prisoners.

I'm voting to put that into the surrender deal; we will only leave once we receive confirmation from Pezun that they'll send a recovery vessel. That should make it more likely for the EFF Captain to surrender.

>>22824558

>>
>>22824558

>>
>>22824781
Alright, here’s what I gather as the consensus:

Laser comm. to the enemy ship, requesting their surrender under the following terms:

>1. Due to the sensitive nature of your mission, no enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried.
>2. The Enemy Cruiser will not target, fire, or engage in hostilities upon the Siegfried, her crew, or any derelict craft or debris within the Loum Shoal Field.
>3. The Enemy Cruiser shall surrender it’s capsule craft, unmanned, at once.
>4. All enemy personnel will be required to wear Normal Suits without utility belts (no tools, pressure tape, or weapons), and be escorted via capsule craft piloted and protected by Zeon Commando Teams to a Magellan hull that is promised to be pressurized and capable of supporting human life for the duration of the wait necessary for a Zeon transport to arrive and take the EFF personnel into custody.
>5. Enemy personnel shall be transferred via capsule craft to said pressurized hull.
>6. The Siegfried will remain on station until communications guaranteeing the transfer of enemy personnel is received from Pezun or other Zeon Command HQ.

Edited, put tool twice instead of tool and weapons, and added the Commandos (Hammer Slammer's, Moon breaker's) as prisoner escorts.

>1. Due to the prototype nature of your cargo, no enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried.

>>
>>22824548
No, uh...wasn't it that if you roll the double or 20, it applies to all major characters?
>>
>>22824839
Only objection is to tell them that we're on a classified mission.

If they ask to be taken aboard the Siegfried, simply refuse due to security concerns.
>>
>>22824866
True, save for two things:

A) Both ships are dead in the water.
B) There was concern in the previous thread about the possibility of EFF Personnel sneaking tools and communications equipment aboard the Magellan during transfer. otherwise you could have them carry their own food, air and water aboard, saving your crew some time and effort.

>>22824890
>1. Due to the sensitive nature of your mission, no enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried.

Your proposed change to: Due to the prototype nature of your cargo, no enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried.

Still tells them you have something worth seeing. how about...

No enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried due to security concerns?

>>22824919
I did that for the 20 I rolled several threads ago. I'll leave it to vote - if you want the rule
>If Char rolls a Double or a Nat. 20, NTP's are gained by every character capable of gaining NTP's
I'll allow it.

Just remember, that's going for EVERY character - including your enemies.
>>
>>22824975

how about just leaving it for the Nat 20/100s? that way it's less for you to keep tabs on.

>>
>>22825117
Nah. As we discussed last thread, I seem to be far too subtle with my in-exposition hints about stuff. If I ever roll a perfect 100, you'll get a reveal that would only otherwise be granted via exposition, player guided plot points, or someone seeing it and announcing it in thread. This one can't be purchased via NTP's.

Writing.

>>22825169
After discussing the idea of requesting the surrender of the Salamis, Bright, Mohai, and Jane agreed upon the following terms:

1. No enemy personnel will be allowed to board the Siegfried, due to security concerns.
2. The enemy cruiser will not target, fire, or engage in hostilities upon the Siegfried, her crew, or any derelict craft or debris within the Loum Shoal Field.
3. The enemy cruiser shall surrender its capsule craft, unmanned, at once.

“Looks good,” Jane commented, handing Bright a fresh cup of coffee. “Should satisfy the Antarctic Treaty requirements, while keeping them out of our hair. What made you think of using the Magellan as a prison ship, anyway?”

Bright took a long sip before shrugging. “I like to keep my options open, and think on how things can be used even if they seem unusable. Char likes to say how one needs to think ‘two steps ahead’ of an enemy,” Bright took another sip of coffee. “I like to stay over the horizon, when I can.”

Mohai chuckled. “You certainly kept them hopping every time the EFF came to play over California.”

“It’s thanks to that experience that we’re in this position,” Bright countered. “Our crews are sharp, our MS Team coordinated. These fellows chose the wrong fight.”
>>
>>22825372

Jane shook her head. “You owe me some war stories,” she reminded him.

“Once things are a bit calmer, I’ll be happy to oblige you,” Bright answered, and then turned to the comms officer, saying “Open a channel to the enemy Salamis, laser, radio, and signal light – just in case we’ve knocked out their communications.” As the woman nodded that the channel was open, bright announced, “Attention enemy vessel – you are dead in the water and I request your surrender. Please respond post haste to negotiate the Terms of Surrender. Message repeats.”

The comms officer turned the system over to automatically rebroadcast Bright’s message as the captain walked back to his chair and sat down to enjoy his coffee while he waited. Jane, having little to do now that her reports to Pezun concerning the derelict had been compiled and entered into laser comm. que, took up station behind him to his left, while Mohai stood by Bright’s right.

>>
>>22825636
If this was /m/, I would heavily condone the use of Meta in thread. As this is /tg/, the meta info can be a bit useful as not everyone knows Gundam lore. The series has also been out for 30 odd years, so pretending not to know anything about it at all, or not letting information on it cloud your judgement, is similar to playing a Jedi Knight in the SW universe during the time shown via the movies and NOT trying to recruit Luke Skywalker. Or playing a D&D Game set in Middle Earth and trying to save Boromir.

It's a difficult balancing act.

However, I will say that any suggestion for Bright's actions that relies exclusively on Meta knowledge to make decisions Bright would otherwise have no inkling to make WILL cost NTPs. Does that sound fair?

We're trying to have a fun, light hearted romp in the Gundam Universe. As long as it doesn't get too out of hand, I'm not going to mind it.

[DC 80 PASS]

“Incoming message from the EFF Salamis, identifying itself as the ‘Nero’. Putting it on the main screen now,” said the communications operator.

The main screen flipped from observation view to communications mode, and showed a rather stern looking fellow, nearly a double for Mohai in looks, muscles, and height if the chair behind him was any indication. There was a faint haze of smoke in the background, and muffled words were being hastily and quietly exchanged just beyond the audio pick up.

Bright took a sip of coffee as he looked the other chap over: standard EFF uniform, no obvious decorations, no campaign ribbons – either a modest fellow or someone who had not yet done anything of note. Bright was convinced by the set of the other man’s jaw that it was the former, rather than the latter.

Bright set his cup on the table, where a magnet on the bottom affixed it to the surface with a soft click as he stood and clasped his hands behind his back, addressing the monitor. “This is the AAZ Cruiser Siegfried, Bright Noah commanding. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?” he asked.

“This is the EFF vessel Nero, Captain Brutus Sharp, commanding,” the other man replied coolly.

“Captain Sharp,” Bright continued, “I hereby request you stand down, and review the Terms of Surrender I am transmitting to your vessel, to which I hope you will agree. Any attempt to acquire my ship, or my mobile suit escort, in a firing solution will negate the proceeding negotiations and I will be forced to resume hostilities. Do I have your understanding on this matter?”
>>
>>22826555
“Aye, you do,” came the sharp, clipped reply. Bright nodded to the communications officer, who proceeded to transmit the terms Bright’s command staff had agreed upon. An aide approached Captain Sharp with a data pad a instant later, presumably containing the terms if the tightening of the muscles in the man’s jaw was any indication.

After a long moment, the EFF captain sighed, then coughed a bit on the smoke. “Were my vessel in better shape, sir, I would turn her guns on you and take my chances. As it is, I am forced to… agree… with your terms, as I find myself in an unenviable position of having a wounded ship, and an enemy vessel with mobile suit support off my starboard bow,” he grimaced. “And as our air circulation system has been knocked offline, I am also forced to ask you hurry with the proceedings, and get my men off this ship as soon as possible.”

Bright raised an eyebrow. “Is she in danger of blowing, sir? Or is it just the air circulation issue that has you worried?”

“Air, though the engines are in a bad way. What the hell did you hit us with?” Sharp asked. “It didn’t burn so much as tear through the hull like wet tissue paper, and god bless any man caught between it and the way out.”

“I am afraid that information is classified, sir,” Bright said.

“Figures,” the other captain grunted. “I formally accept your Terms of Surrender. I and my men will abide by them.”

Bright quickly issued the orders to the Zaku team, which had just dropped two disabled balls off with the shipboard mechanics repairing the salvaged Salamis, to return with the Magellan and Salamis’ capsules in tow to begin evacuation of the captured enemy cruiser.

get a pilot status report from the current Zaku team. If they are in good condition, oversee the Prisoner transfer to the Magellan wreck. See who wants to assist the Pezun techs with the remote testing of the two upgraded Zudahs (not the Zuzaks or the Triple Z)

Get some fresh pilots in those zakus. See if we can't get the rest to do the zudah trials simultaneously.

whoa whoa whoa, hold up on the test trials. can't let them see stuff while the transfer is ongoing. And get that Komusai launched for information relay!
>>
>>22827717
Gah. Sorry. Got into a conversation with my land lord about smart phones. Didn't think I was gone THAT long.

Sometimes it sucks being the 'tech guy'.

So, let's see here.

So, we're switching Zaku pilot's AFTER they escort the enemy personnel to the Magellan? Then, fresh pilots will do another Salvage sweep?

Also, KBT has put out a call for sending the Kommusai for immediate launch, to tell Pezun of the prisoners and the derelict locations. Anyone else want this?
>>
>>22827837
Another vote for the Kommusai.
Can we send Councilman along in a Zaku II as an escort just in case?
>>
>>22827895
Humn... Interesting choice. Yes. You can. would you want him providing escort for the five and a half hour journey, or riding in the Kommusai, launching only if necessary?

This WILL bring your Zaku team down two 2 Zaku II's for the duration of the trip.

Although, I suppose it's possible you guys might find another Zaku I or II foalting around during salvage patrol. And there's always the Balls, once they are repaired.

sounds good to me
>>
>>22827973
Well, we were going to stay here for the 11 hours to do the tests and repair the Salamis, so I don't see why not.

Have Councilman in the Kommusai, launching only if needed.

Bright requested a status report on the Zaku pilot’s. The comm.’s officer relayed the request, then reported, “Sir, Captain Seabrooke and PFC Stuessy are reporting minor fatigue. Sergeant Tavolacci reports all clear, sir.”

“Chance always over estimates himself,” Mohai rumbled.

“If they are up to it, have them escort the capsules during transfer. Also, keep weapon ready – if the commandos radio about trouble, shake them up,” Bright ordered.

“Aye.”

The Zaku team reported they felt able to mind the store for the transfer, and soon after, arrived with the two capsules. The Salamis’ capsule was painted grey with blue stripes, and the Magellan’s capsule a uniform olive green.

Lourie flew her Zaku over to the enemy Salamis, and returned two minutes later with their capsule in tow, also painted grey but with a yellow stripe down the center. “They didn’t give me any fuss, sir,” she reported via touch transmission. “I went up to the bridge, requested they release their capsule empty, to be manned by our personnel, and they released the docking clamps right away.”

Within ten minutes, the Moon Breaker’s and the Hammer Slammer’s had their 24 commandos split into three eight man teams, the companies intermixed to allow for demolitions and heavy weapons expertise on each team. 2nd Lieutenant Kissick had insisted on the idea before Bright himself could, stating that “Between my boys gun’s and Coralie’s bomb sniffin’ bitches, we’ll keep ‘em in line, sir, or I’ll eat me hat.”

And by Snakes, I mean Bombs. Or maybe just Snakes. Snake in space sounds scary enough for me.

>>22828461
The Siegfried took up station between the enemy Salamis and the derelicts previously salvaged to overlook the transfer operation. It took three and a half hours to complete, with the three shuttles each making three trips, and the EFF enlisted men being crammed in a bit tighter than they would otherwise like to be for a ten minute flight.

There were a few minor incidents. One man had managed to smuggle in a small digital camera, and photographed the Zudah’s on the Siegfried’s hull. Since he had left the flash on, Jean was able to radio it in right away. Another man had tried to argue his pet snake was allowed to go with him. It was promptly spaced by Coralie, muttering that they ‘didnea need no fucking snakes on a mother fucking plane.’ One man got a little too fresh with one of the Moon breaker’s girls, and received a nasty knock upside the head for it. The reverse held for one of the Slammer’s men, who had thought to take advantage of a EFF female crewmember, before his mates rattled him for being an idiot. The final incident came on the last shuttle, carrying the Nero’s command personnel.

Captain Sharp had tried to smoke a pipe. One of his crew members sharply reprimanded him, however, and he put the thing away, growling about how he couldn’t even smoke in Zeon air.

With the transfer of the EFF personnel completed, the Breaker’s and the Slammer’s proceeded to comb the Nero while in Normal Suits, to avoid breathing the acrid, smoke filled air.

clearly we find plans for either the Solar Ray, OR the keys to Jaburo...

“How’s the Zudah team holding up?” Bright asked.

“They report all good, sir. Though PFC Pheonix seems to be asleep, and Jean is muttering something about targets.”

“Bring them back into the Zudah bay. Get Handwerker and Retersdorf into the Zaku’s once Seabrooke, Tavolacci and Steussy clear them. Have Councilman take the last Zaku and transfer it to the Komusai. Jane,” Bright said, turning to her, “If your report on the salvageable derelicts location is complete, could you add in the bit about the prisoners, our Terms of Surrender, and send them via sealed SD card to the Kommusai’s captain? I’d prefer to get word on this to Pezun sooner than later.”

Jane snapped off a salute, said “On it,” and make a quick exit.

A half hour later, Sergeant Romera contacted the Siegfried on the Nero’s Laser Comm. “Sir, we’ve found something o’er here that you’re goinea wannea see, soonest.”

“What is it, Sergeant?” Bright asked.

“Transmitting now, sir. It’s a doozie, it is.”

A minute’s silence went by on the brigde before the computer accepted the data transfer, and rendered an image on the screen.

It was a mobile suit, in wire frame. Several sections were left uncompleted, as if the person making the model didn’t know just yet what fit where, but the general idea was there. Along with a name.

Over the comm. line, came Coralie’s voice again. “Info here places it… at Libot, sir. They’re building this in Side Six.”

“Well Fuck,” Mohai said.

Emblazoned on the top of the screen, read ‘Renpou Prototype RX-78-2 NT1’.

And as the rendered shield for the unit rotated, the name could be read, scrawled across the top.

‘Alex’

so, continuing tomorrow if the thread is still up or are we done till next week? just want to know if i should try and keep this thread on life-support or just to let it die...
>>
>>22829423
I've got a game of D&D to attend to in three hours, so I might not be up for it come morning.

Though it was a bit short tonight, wasn't it? Humn.

But, you did find schematics for the Alex. Hoo boy, someone's going to be quite pissed. Wonder if this was why Sharp was willing to fire on the Siegfried, had he any mobility at all left in the Nero?

Also, there'll be more than this. Off the top of my head, it's a definite that these wee the Midnight Insertion Team, so you'll be finding proper documentation in their computers to support your false flag op. Plus a little more, but my brain is fried at them moment. Like I said on the twitter, wasn't feeling so hot this weekend due to a long week at work, but I enjoy running this for you fine folks, so here we are.

Also, discussion: Should you have these plans and the location of the Alex sent via Pezun to Char, while he's in the area, and continue your original plan without his support? Or leave it be until you finish the original mission, and report it directly to Lord Dozle Zabi, and get yourselves a nice, shiny medal?

Maybe go half and half, inform Dozle and left him know Char's planned route is going that way?
>>
>>22829548

the third idea is the most appealing. We are not a 'Glory Hound', We want what is best for Zeon, and limiting Earth Federation MS capabilities is most Defiantly, best for Zeon. Let me run some theories and simulations, see if i can't have a plan ready to submit to Dozle regarding Chars Assault on Side 6...
You know you want to run it as a Side Quest/Omake
>>
>>22829548
I'd say inform Dozle and get advised on possible deviations from the original plan. We've got enough on our plate at the moment with infiltrating Side 7, but dealing with the Alex could be just as much a boon to Zeon. Defer to high command for this.
>>
>>22829693
I just might. I know I would love it if Apologized did, though. THAT would be awesome.

If >>22825854, is who I think he is (the 'fake' Apologized from the April Fool's ZeonQuest) and wanted to run it, I'd be very amused.

If not, and you guys want it as a side quest, I'll run it as such.
>>
>>22829968

i just thought that it could be something to do if you wanted to run the quest, but were still tweaking some of the mountains of raw information, maps, documents, pictures, psychological profiling, ect.

that, and you'd be the one staring in it. just have us play the poor sod who was assigned as your extra wing-man...

hell, you could even start the side quest complaining about the HLV having been bolted onto your ship just so a fourth Zaku could be fit into it...
>>
>>22830126
Technically it was just the door, to extend the pressure seal.

The reaction is more of a 'God damn, that actually worked?' than anything else, really.

Also, if you re-watch the first few episodes of Gundam, you'll notice something. Char sends out three Zaku II's to Side 7. Three. That's the Falmel's entire compliment. Yet, later, he launches in his Zaku IIS.

So, either he was keeping it in the Komusai, which can hold two Zaku's but needs to be launched to access them, as the hatch of the Komusai is located on the belly, or the Falmel could always hold four Zaku's, even though the specs list it as holding only three.

Mysterious Zaku is Mysterious~~.
>>
>>22829968

Afraid you've got the wrong not-ZeonQuest, Char.

My horrible idea was a ZQ-universe "last days of the war" 1shot to see how many people /tg/ would get killed as a commander :D
>>
>>22830241
It's bigger on the inside.
>>
>>22830241

... Maybe, now this might sound crazy but hear me out, Just Maybe, the Falmel and Chars Zaku are the prototype of the TZMS. That would explain why it was shot out of the Falmel...
>>
>>22829230
Suddenly, I think we have a source of data to advance completion of our higher end MS.

And really, the goddamn NT-1? If it already has the gatling blueprints, there's alot we can do with the mechanism.
>>
>>22830410

Honestly, does the NT-1 even exist at this point?

I could have sworn it was made specifically for Amuro due to his reactions.
>>
>>22830241
wait...if we could store 2 more zakus in the komusai why don't more people do that to get more zakus in their ship?
>>
>>22830458
From my timeline:

UC 0078.03
The Federal Forces secretly begin mobile suit development. Several projects are begun simultaneously as part of the RX Plan.

UC 0079.08
The Federal Forces begin final testing of the Gundam at Side 7. Development of the NT-1 begins at the Augusta base.

The Zeon Army escalates research and prototype manufacturing of mobile armors.

Current date in Bright Quest:
UC 0079.07.30

What you've got are production schematics. It may not exist yet.

>>22830636
Because the Komusai is designed with the MS entry hatch on the bottom. The two tail fins on the back of the Komusai are the two fins you see on the bottom front of a standard musai, or the Siegfried. So the MS entry hatch is literally pressing against the interior hull of the Musai, making it, and anything in it, inaccessible until it is launched.

If the hatch were on the top, like the Space Shuttle's, different story. A full combat load of MS would be 5 per Musai, with the Komusai bay being a pain in the ass, but usable.
