You were a 30 year old awkward lonely overweight virgin neckbeard who lived in his mother's basement. You were granted the unusual birthday present of being turned into a petite female elven bard entirely against your will and dropped naked in the middle of a forest. You and the gentle orc ranger, Jack Carson, and the wild elf scout, Varaia, became traveling partners after misadventures in the frontier town of Salvation.

You all boarded a train bound for Newport and had multiple, increasingly dangerous encounters with rail workers turned bandit. Jack found out he needed to go to Mildania to save his brother and sister from the Blackmountain organized crime family, so you all took a ship to Mildania; it ended up getting sunk by deep ones. After working your way through the countryside and meeting some of Jack's family, you ended up staying with his childhood friend Millie as you started your war against the Blackmountain family.

You, Jack, and Millie are currently all doing your own things while you wait for Varaia to get back with intelligence on potential Blackmountain targets.

You hear a knock at the warehouse's main door.

What do you do?

better safe than sorry.

Yeah, lets try this.

It would not be better if we could hide in another room? Save some energy, cast invis if required.

You wrap yourself and Jack in a field of invisibility. Millie goes to open the door. She takes a deep breath and unlocks all of the locks, then opens it up. Standing there is a young orc who looks much like Jack or Will, but instead of being built like Jack or lanky like Will he's lithe and lean, like a runner or an acrobat. His head and face both have the short hair of someone who shaved them both a week or two ago.

"Millie," he says. His voice is rough, hard. "Where is he?"

Jack steps out of the invisibility effect, so you just drop it instead of trying to maintain it. "Rory," says Jack. "Thank God you're okay." Jack walks up towards him, reaches his arms out to give him a hug, and then gets punched by Rory right in the gut. "Rory, what the fuck?" asks Jack, gasping and bending over.

"That's for letting Emma get sucked into this," declares Rory. He looks angry. "You should have done what I'm doing now, or just accepted prison, instead of running away."

"Yeah," agrees Jack, catching his breath and standing up. "Yeah, I probably should have. I'm here now, though. I'm going to try to make things right."

Rory glares at him. You think he might just toss another punch. His look softens, though. "I missed you, Jack. We all did."

"I missed you too, Rory. How did you find us?"

"I found black blood at a hit on a crackhouse. Talked to a few of the escaped whores. Used the blood to track you to this building. Cleaned it up, too."

What do you do?
>>
>>22917913
We step out of the invis spells and we approach to talk to him.

- Hi there! Jack fucked me in the ass.
>>
>>22917913

What an ass. Taking on a whole city in a fit of delusional berserking.

he should've waited for us.

"Be careful where you hit him. He got shot while trying to clean up your mess."

It would help to coordinate our actions.

>>
>>22918086

I'm inclined to agree. She's a wild elf, too, which makes her least streetwise character of the pack, possibly including Nona with her implanted knowledge. Here's hoping we won't have to rescue another named damsel in distress.

"Be careful where you hit him," you say, feeling protective. "He's still hurting from last night."

"I figured," replies Rory. "That was the point."

You give him a little glare, then ask, "So, what all have you been doing? And do you know where Emma is?"

He glares right back. "I've been hitting money and goods that are in transit. Trying to bleed them dry, and kill off the thugs they trust enough to make the transfers. I hear you all were using my persona too - the talk right now is all about The Ghosts. As for Emma, she's being held at a high-class bordello in the Main Hall."

"We know which one you're talking about," says Millie.

"Well, its security is tight. Lots of wealthy, famous patrons who value anonymity and safety. I haven't had the muscle to hit it - yet. They've been preparing Emma for a debut, though. Not sure when it's going to happen, but it will be sometime in the next week. We have to try to get her out of there before then."

"What's the plan, then?" you ask.

He takes a good, hard look at you, then asks, "And who the fuck are you supposed to be?"

What do you say?
>>
>>22918561
hire out our services as a top notch bard, of course. we need a man on the inside.... and we are a man on the inside

"I'm Nona, Jack's friend."
Maybe with a little smirk.

"We can stand here and fight each other, or we can discuss a plan how to rescue Emma and destroy the blackmountains. Your call."

>>
>>22918865
No, I was not talking about messing with his mind, I was talking about using illusions and such so we look more powerful and menacing that we are, so he behaves with us. Just like Gandalf did a couple times at the movies.

I think you meant elf ears but I like this idea fuck yea multitasking

>>22918845

>>
>>22918883

Gandalf was generally rather downplaying himself to appear a normal old person with magical capacity though. He was a middle-earth's equivalent of an Archangel.
>>
"I'm Nona. I'm one of Jack's friends. I'm here to help," you say, simply. He gives you a long, hard stare. You get the impression that he doesn't trust you at all, but doesn't want to refuse your help.

"So, here's the deal. The place has one entrance with two armed guards at the door. Inside, there's a security checkpoint, also with two armed guards, one of them for a patdown and the other in a bulletproof kiosk. The door at the checkpoint is blast-resistant and is deadbolted unless at button in the kiosk is pressed. On the ground floor, there's an auction room with individual anonymous booths, each of which has a door that locks and a one-way mirror into the main auction room. The girls are kept in luxury rooms on the second floor, except when being auctioned. The doors are locked and only opened when it's time for an auction or time to let a customer in. The only person with a key to the girls' rooms is the brothel's manager, and he has at least one bodyguard with him at all times. What's worse, the entire building is monitored by an MI with eyes in every room and every hallway - it can sound an alarm and lock down all the doors in the event of an emergency."

He makes illustrating gesticulations as he explains all that, short jabs and motions to denote actions, people, and structures.

"So, we need to figure out how to get in, get Emma, and get out alive."

What do you say?
>>
>>22918956

MI sounds like the way to go.

Any standing magical defences we should be aware of? Guards with True Sight?
>>
>>22918956
so wear is the IM housed? hack and we got control and no alarms the

when does the manager leave he seams like another week point jump him and the guard away from the place and we got the keys then there not much Left to do
>>
>>22918956
I'm still going with entertainment, or we magic ourselves up to look like prospective clients?
>>
>>22918988

I mean, where is the MI physically located? We could make a deal with it - see if we can persuade it to look the other way, or outright abandon its station and go with us if we have a medium for it. It might come in handy later. when we're stealing the airship.
>>
>>22918956
"Can he lock the walls?" Hold up the force-pistol. "Because I was just kinda planning on making our own doors. As for wealthy or influential people visiting the place, they know the crimes they're committing. At least we'll be giving them a quick death. More than they deserve. Millie, can you hack an MI? Or at least kill one?"
>>
>>22918956
whats an MI?
>>
"Once our Wild Elf assassin gets back, we can form a solid plan. I want Varaia's opinions."
>>
>>22919074

I do not agree with coming in loud. In fact, it would be best to not alarm the thugs until the captives are secured. Do we have means of capturing images, camera-like, that would be difficult or impossible to dismiss as a forgery? We could gather incriminating evidence on those influential people.

As for the MI, We seemed to have some success with the water elemental. Combined with our legacy knowledge, we should be able to have a nice chat with the overwatch MI.
>>

>>22919138
See, here I was thinking that a bit of Arson would be appropriate. Large fires at the front and back entrances. They can't call a fire department because of the nature of their business, so they have to handle it themselves. We use the grappling hook and ram-pistol to go in through the roof while all the guards are downstairs. Once we've evac'ed Emma and the other girls, we can demolish the building with force and fire, killing the other guards and the patrons and covering any evidence that it was us."
>>
>>22919217
>See, here I was thinking that a bit of Arson would be appropriate

Don't forget your clown-like make up, anon.

No, just no. The neighbors and such can and surely will call the firemen and the policemen. We will attract too much attention. Nothing with fire.
>>
"Sounds like the MI and the manager are the biggest obstacles, but also the biggest weaknesses. Do you know where the MI is housed? Do you know the manager's routine? We might be able to jump him or pickpocket him when he's somewhere else," you say. You use illusions to illustrate your points instead, putting together a rough concept based on his description of the place and your idea of what a brothel manager and MI core would look like.

"I'm not sure where the MI is, but I'm willing to bet it's on the premises," he says.

"Yes, probably," agrees Millie. "I would put it in the basement, assuming that there aren't any tunnels running under it right there."

"As for the manager," continues Rory, "I've followed him a bit. He keeps his bodyguard on him while he's out and about, his car looks to be armored, and his home has an alarm system and his bodyguard has the guest room. Plus, he keeps in regular contact with his higher-ups and employees, so if we steal the key or take him out, it would have to be right before the raid to keep them from locking the place down."

It's then that Varaia walks in through the front door followed by Will. "I found Will wandering around a couple blocks away and brought hi- Is that Rory?"

"Rory!" calls out Will, walking up and giving his brother a big hug. "I'm glad you're okay."

What do you do?
>>
>>22919443
"Rory, Varaia. Varaia, Rory. Don't worry, she's with us."
>>
>>22919430
No, Ghosts. We need to make it look like the souls of the damned rose up and slaughtered everyone in there.
>>
>>22919443

Introduce her.

Now, back to business... this notion of tunnels underneath the establishment deserves investigation. Perhaps the proprietor does have an alternate escape route in case the situation goes sour? I for one would have at least one such thing when operating a less than legal establishment.

Next in, did the enchantment book say anything of defences or wards? Manager is unlikely to have a guardian that could be turned against him by a random urchin with magical talent.

Is there a favourable spot Varaia could take to cover our escape with a rifle?

I don't suppose we can use our bardic spellsong to break glass...?
>>
"Tunnels?" you ask. He got you thinking of something. "Why wouldn't there be a tunnel? If I was running a brothel, I would sure as hell have some secret way out. This is Varaia, by the way. Varaia, Rory."

"Huh. That's a good idea," admits Rory. "I'll see if I can find anything out about a tunnel in the area. I doubt he would have had a fresh one dug, since it's in the main hall, so it's probably an old one that he broke into or refurbished." He doesn't give Varaia much in the way of attention beyond glancing at her, but he does pat his brother on the back. "If I find one, that may be our way in and our way to the MI. That doesn't solve the key situation, though."

"Does the place have wards? What about the guards?" you ask.

"They've all got all kinds of resistance training. If they even suspect that you're coming at them, it'll probably be almost impossible to get an illusion or enchantment to stick. Plus, a few of the highest-ranking ones are mediocre diviners. Won't be able to scry or anything, but they should be able to see magic."

"Hey, Nona?" asks Will, coming up and standing in front of you, blocking your view of the others. He seems to either not notice or is ignoring the fact that you had been having a conversation. "Can we talk about something? In private?"

What do you do?
>>
>>22919936
"It can't wait? We are planning an invasion here."

"Oh, fine, we will follow you."
>>
>>22919936
might be important. still, be cautious...
>>
>>22919936

"We'll come up with something."

then

>>22919991
>>
>>22919936
of course will what do you need?
>>
"We'll come up with something," you assure Rory. "Yes, Will? Can it wait?"

"Not really," says Will. "I want to talk to you when you might have time. Who knows how busy you'll be later?"

"Yeah, okay," you say. He leads you off to one side while the others get back to talking about ideas for how to get the key and infiltrating the brothel.

"Okay, so," he says, once you're away from the group. "I saw that you were reading a book on enchanting. I want you to go into my mind and fix it."

"...what?" you ask.

"You saw how my house was. How I am," he says, scratching the back of your head. "Something isn't right with my mind. It doesn't work the way it should. It makes my family worried, and it makes me ashamed. I want you to find what's wrong and get rid of it - or find what's missing and fill it in, I dunno. I mean, that's something that people with enchanting can do, right? Fix memories, personalities, that kind of thing? I wouldn't trust a stranger to do it, no matter how expensive they were. Jack - he really trusts you, though. If Jack trusts you, I do too. Can you help?"

What do you say to that?
>>
>>22920319
"That's something skilled enchanters can do, yes. But I'm not that good. All I know how to do is break things. Maybe, when I get better, I might be able to help you, but right now I'm worried about doing more damage. I will help you when I can, but it'll have to wait."
>>
>>22920319

"I don't think that would be a very good idea, Will. I'm not yet experienced with enchantment magic, and I could easily do something wrong and harm you horribly."

pause.

"And then there's the issue ... even if I did it, somehow managed to not fuck up... would it still be you? Maybe the same aspect of your mind that causes you to have a disorderly household is the one that allows you to create such beautiful art."
>>
>>22920319
Oh wow.

That's, uh...

I mean yeah, I COULD do it. But it would be really difficult and so much could go wrong...

Tell you what. I can't do it now, I'm not sure I have the skill. But once I'm sure that I can help you without accidentally leaving you a vegetable, you can be certain that I will.

OOC would it be possible to just take a look inside?
>>
>>22920319
NO well I can't ..not even sure how it would work on that level its far beyond me, that is the kind of thing that takes years and years a life time to be good at. I mean I just learned magic about a month ago,I am good but not that good.

there are simpler less drastic way to help with things like that

great one is a check list, plan your day your week step by step small reminders notes.

I could probable with Milly build a MI smart enough to do most of that with you but.

I promise I will do my best to learn more so I can help eventually...
>>
>>22920319

we are still very inexperienced and this is not something we can just wave our hands at.

we understand how he feels but until get a lot more skilled in this mind altering/rending business we can't take the risk. We know what happens if we try to hard.

also if we did alter his mind successfully his family would never forgive us. their mother already sees us as the girl who split up Jack and Millie (sort of).

he should discuss it with them before we do anything.
>>
>>22920319
yeah, definitely too risky, at least now.
>>
>>22920420
>"And then there's the issue ... even if I did it, somehow managed to not fuck up... would it still be you? Maybe the same aspect of your mind that causes you to have a disorderly household is the one that allows you to create such beautiful art."

Good point.

I can think of a dozen different techniques that would help him get his life under control, but as a neckbeard, Nona wouldn't have any experience with them (Or his former life wouldn't have been so dismal).
>>
>>22920625
you trying to say a neck beard virgin at 30 hasten herd those things and just didn't do them ?
>>
"I'm sorry, Will, but I'm not that experienced. I would probably do a lot more damage than good if I tried something like that," you say. You leave out the part that you're afraid of what you might do if you really got up in someone's mind again - would you lose control? He looks crestfallen. "Plus, who knows what all is tied into that? What if your artistic abilities are the upside to your problems? I promise I'll take a look if I ever get good enough to try something like that, but only if I'm sure I won't hurt you."

"Sure. Yeah. Okay," says Will. He's staring down at his feet and rubbing his beard. "Thanks, Nona. And, uh. Don't tell Jack. Or Rory. That I wanted to do this, that is. I'm, uh. I'm not proud of it. And I don't want to get their hopes up. In case it never happens."

"Sure, Will," you say. You put a hand on his shoulder to try to comfort him. "You'll be okay in the end."

He nods and walks towards the kitchen.

What do you do now?

>I'm going to leave now
>I'll be gone for an hour, maybe two
>feel free to leave any and all suggestions, plans, ideas, and actions while I'm gone, I'll read them all for the next post when I get back
>>
>>22920705
Maybe. Maybe not. The techniques I learned aren't commonly taught.
>>
>>22920933
read more and harder look into what will wants see if it is possible to do something about it
>>
>>22920937

Really? Now I'm intrigued.

>>22920933

We should definitely check for tunnel escape routes before we do anything, but if we are going to hit the manager, we should try to do so on his leisure time, preferably when he's drunk.
>>
>>22921069
We should try to make a pressing of his key instead of just stealing it.
>>
>>22921167

That would require to spirit it away without him noticing, not to mention if it's so important it's likely to have magic equivalent of encryption on it.

We could try seducing him, I suppose, although I'd rather not go that way.
>>
>>22921215
You can make a pressing in a matter of seconds. We would just need to have our hands on it for a moment. That said, you're right about the magical encryption. I didn't consider that. If the MI is in control of the doors, there's probably a magical element to the key.

But if we have control of the MI, that shouldn't matter, right?
>>
>>22920933
Okay, a place like this would probably have live music, it adds to the ambiance, we can play piano songs that no one else knows which will give us an in, and song music is subtle and pretty much impossible to straight up resist.

It gets us in the building, lets us scope it out more, and once we're in we might be able to help the others in somehow or hit the MI.
>>
>>22921812
this.
also, we might want to keep Vararia hidden or something. I'd imagine a brothel would see a wild elf as an exotic addition to their wares. We don't want her getting grabbed.
>>
>>22921959

How would they be grabbing anything when they are busy bleeding? Although I wouldn't mind having her outside to cover our escape... how good is she with a sniper rifle?
>>
>>22921989
Horrible. She had never even used a gun before we met her. She's an archer.
>>
>>22921812
Addition to this, we probably can't just show up at their door and say "I WANT TO PLAY YOU THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE." Just won't work.

But if we meet the manager outside, we through sheer "coincidence" bump into him, we can start talking, lead the conversation to us being a good musician but not having a job, and asking if he knows anywhere that could use a pretty elf playing the piano. This seems like a place that would want a pretty elf wearing a slinky dress playing the piano, I'm thinking some Ray Charles would go over well.
>>
>>22921989
remember the incident with the deep ones?
>>22922013
>>"I WANT TO PLAY YOU THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE."
that should be our battle cry, especially if we were to go with the weaponized dubstep idea.
>>
>>22922013
This.
We could also dress for the occasion and flirt some. Maybe Jack will be uncomfortable, but is for a greater cause.
>>
>>22922087
>"I WANT TO PLAY YOU THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE."
>weaponized wubstep
Beautiful.
>>
>>22921989
Not all that good, but we give her a bow and she can probably stick someone in the eye from 100 yards.

>>22922094
We do need to dress for the occasion. I'm not saying skimpy, but classy and sexy, this place's equivalent to a cocktail dress. I can't remember how prominent our bust is, if we've got good sized tits we should probably have the neckline plunge a bit.

This means we have to go clothes shopping.
>>
>>22922187
>I can't remember how prominent our bust is
Petite.
>>
>>22922187
Shopping trip!!!
but yeah, if mammary serves (hyuk hyuk), we don't have much in the fun-bags department. apparently Vararia is bigger....so, a plunging neckline probably won't do.
>>
>>22922224
>>22922221
We can still work with that. Make sure the dress is tight enough to show off our slimness, and we probably have nice legs so keep the dress shortish, maybe get sheer stockings because you can never go wrong with stockings.
>>
>>22922240
your fetish is showing...
>>
>>22922240
Heels! We need heels!

BTW: can we... fill... our bra with something, use illusions and such?
>>
>>22922291
That isn't even my fetish, I admit to liking women wearing stockings, but I wouldn't call my fetish.

Or a decently long tight evening gown would work.

>>22922317
Keep the heels short, at least on the day of the heist, we might not be at all good with them, bard training might not have covered that, and on the day of the heist we're likely to have to do things on the inside and run around some.

And these people are watching for magic, I'd rather not give them something to get them to start being suspicious. We're perfectly pretty without magic enhancements.
>>
>>22920933
Our plan should be tied mainly around the MI and cutting off other forms of communication, I think.

With our muscle, we can probably take out the guards strategically, and that won't be too big a problem. The manager and MI are the only main issues that we can see now. If we can find the tunnel, we'll see if that doesn't lead to some sort of base of operations where the security room is.
>>
You head back over to the planning group. "Hey, I had an idea," you mention to them. "A place like this is sure to have live music played, right? I mean, these are high-class customers."

"I don't like where you're going with this," says Jack immediately.

"Sooo," you say, continuing on. "What if I get myself in as the inside man? Cozy up to the managers during off hours, drop hints about being an extremely talented, unemployed musician, get him to hire me on. I could gather intelligence, maybe even open doors or get access to certain things, like the MI or the manager's keys. What do you guys think?"

"Absolutely not," says Jack, looking indignant.

"Sounds really dangerous," says Varaia, looking worried.

"It could work," notes Millie.

"I like it. It could be exactly what we need," says Rory, contemplatively. "You can work on infiltrating while I work on finding out more about any possible secret entrances."

Shit. You hope it doesn't say something about your plan when The Ghost is the one who's most behind it.

"Millie, could you make explosives? Just in case we need to make our own door or take the place down," asks Rory.

"I suppose I could, but that sounds a little too reckless for an exfiltration like this."

"Hey, just in case."

You casually note that Will has started cooking something, maybe dinner for the group?

What do you do now?
>>
>>22922591

He can cook? I'd be careful in case he does anything extravagant. Farting won't help us get the spot.

As for the infiltration, I suppose we could make a name for ourselves in a pub the manager attends.

After we do our shopping.

Give Jack and Varaia a hug and kiss.

"Jack, Varaia, I love the both of you, and I'm touched that you're concerned for me. But I have to do this, it's our best shot at saving Emma.

A bard is in some ways similar to a druid, just more urban, we thrive effortlessly in urban environments and social situations. Of the people here I am the best at this, I won't be caught, I won't be discovered, I'll be in my element. Trust the bard."
>>
>>22922591
Assure Jack we can take care of ourselves, and we won't end up actually working there. Just play music.
>>
>>22922591
check up on Will, maybe we can make him a MI personal assistant or something?
at the very least find something to occupy him for the heist.
>>
>>22922591
Tell them that you promise you won't do any sort of inside infiltration while you're there. We're just going to work like a regular musician, and maybe if we get to go to lunch or the locker room or something, we'll see the MI there.

>Trust the bard
>>
You give both Jack and Varaia a quick hug and kiss. "I have to do this. It's for Emma. Don't worry, though, this sort of stuff - cities, socializing, intrigue - it's my natural environment. I'm a bard. Plus, I'm just going to be working as a musician and keeping my eyes open. No unnecessary risks," you say.

"Okay," says Varaia. She seems soothed by you promising not to take any unnecessary risks. Jack, though, still seems upset by the idea.

"Food!" calls out Will, putting a platter down on the table. It looks like he took every leftover in the fridge, mixed it all together with egg and cheese, and fried it in a pan until it was some weird leftover casserole omelet thing. You're not sure if it will taste good - at all - but it looks relatively safe to eat, at least.

Rory and Will both grab a piece. Jack and Millie are eying it uncertainly. Varaia's looking towards the kitchen like she's considering actually cooking something.

What do you do?
>>
>>22923004
Well, it is food, and we've got a busy day ahead of us.

Take a few bites, ascertain if it's at least half decent, eat it, and then it's time to go shopping, we need to look the part for this.

Words I never want to hear out of my playing group

>"Trust the Bard."
>>

>>22922994
When it comes to social infiltration, lying, or singing you should trust the bard. That's kinda their job description.

Also did our bard training include how to walk in heels?
>>
>>22923004
"This might be the bravest thing I've ever done, including riding a bear naked and using enough magic to pass out in front of Deep Ones." and take a bite.

Who knows? Madness and genius are separated only by success, let's see if Will's eccentricities tipped over into genius this time.
>>
>>22923065
>Also did our bard training include how to walk in heels?

>your skills include walking in heels, walking in stilts, clowning, the art of the mime, and beatboxing
>>
>>22923031
right up there there with 'theres no way this can fail,' and 'hey guys, watch this'
>>
>>22923250
>beatboxing
we must not let this go to waste.
>>
>>22923286
>>22923250
>walking in stilts
>walking in heels
>miming
>beatboxing

We must somehow combine these.
>>
>>22923250
Excellent, we should get some heels, some nice clothing, all of that, after breakfast. We need to look the part, and that involves sexy/classy clothing.
>>
You decide to try some of the monstrosity that Will put out on the table. It's not the worst thing you've ever eaten. You wouldn't call it good, but with the amount of cheese in it, it sure is food. Varaia actually does make a break for the kitchen and cooks up something for her, Jack, and Millie while you, Rory, and Will just eat from the convenient pile. This is the most in touch with your old neckbeard self that you've felt in months.

When everyone is fed, Will and Rory both head for the door. "I'm going to go back to my hotel room," says Will, before ducking out. Rory just leaves without saying anything.

Jack is laid back, reading his new book on the couch. Millie's putting the finishing touches on the staff rifle. Varaia has the goggles from Millie's cyberdeck on and is occasionally cursing under he breath as she tries to figure out how to use 'the damned accursed piece of shit.'

What do you do with your evening?
>>
>>22923626
I think we ought to go shopping, we need some dresses, for casual about the town wear where we "by sheer coincidence" bump into the manager, some evening wear for playing at the brothel, some jewelry, and some heels to complete the outfit.

We should probably ask Millie for suggestions on where to shop, and when we shop we should disguise our self, so we aren't recognized. Maybe bring Jack and/or Varaia along, disguised of course, if they want to help us pick outfits out.
>>
>>22923626

What's left for a bard to do? Take the Arcane Programming Textbook and read up on MI's, I suppose.
>>
>>22921069
>Really? Now I'm intrigued.
The biggest one is The Puppet. Imagine you're invisible. Nobody can see you, nobody can hear you. Standing right in front of you is a puppet that people can see. It'll do anything you want it to, say anything you want. Nobody will identify it with you though because you no longer exist. You live through your puppet. It's a good exercise for getting people to think about how others view you, thinking about yourself objectively, and learning how to fake being social. It's like roleplaying over the internet, you get anonymity within your own body and a measure of freedom.

Sage for off-topic. Sorry to shit up the thread, but if it can help Will, we might bring it up.
>>
>>22923626
well, you said we know how to beatbox. Let's take a shower and try to recreate Skrillex.
>>

this

>>22923816
Thirded! We're going to need how to deal with one if we're going to infiltrate this place.
>>
>>22923788
>skrillex
I'm not so sure thats a good idea...lets save it for when we feel.....destructive.
>>22923816
thirding
we may encounter the MI whilst barding.
>>

This shit right here is why I dropped this quest.
>>
>>22923908

What shit, specifically?
>>
(Slight bump, and what description should I use for this Quest to archive it?)
>>
>>22924457
Not sure. Maybe something like "The Bard and her friends plot a daring rescue."
>>
>>22924457

"The Bard meets the Ghost and makes ready to infiltrate the den of depravity."

Why is that so surprising
>>
You spend your evening reading your enchanting book. Specifically, you spend your time correlating what the book has to say about MIs with your understanding of complex information systems. You think that you're starting to get a very good idea of how do deal with MIs, at least insofar as Enchantment-based work is concerned. You have no idea what the artificer approach is like.

You tuck in after a while, curling up on the couch. Millie was the first to sleep, but Jack and Varaia are still up when you nod off. When you wake up in the morning, you look around and see that everyone else is asleep. Jack still has his book on his chest and Varaia never took the goggles off. You and Millie are the only ones who actually managed to get blankets on and properly entrenched for sleep.

How do you start your day?
>>
>>22924642
>that's 10 upvotes and 6 downvotes
>>
>>22924882
Stretch, talk to Millie about the town and where we would go to get outfits for blending in properly with the crowd we're infiltrating.
>>
>>22924882

I imagine artificier approach is hitting it with a hammer until it yields the results you want.

>starting the day
wake them up with a song. A nice song, I mean, not exploding heavens on them.

OP, Can you transfer a MI onto a different medium? Like if we took with us a magical quantum hard drive or something.
>>
>>22925115
>Can you transfer a MI onto a different medium

>yes
>the nature of the MI affects what media are compatible, though
>for example, a bound elemental and a construct brain are two very different things
>>
>>22925167

(I think you lost your trip there, MonkeyPaw)
>>
>>22925215
>you're right
>I was posting in a different thread
>>
>>22924882
Well, why don't we talk to Millie about some things first. First, we want to know what kind of things an artificer does and what sort of skills she has (and ask about how that staff rifle is going.)

I'm wondering specifically if wand/staff weapons have different functions, like maybe firing tiny needle-shaped bolts of poison or different types of energies.

Then, we ought to ask for her help in picking out an outfit for the place.
>>
>I'm actually going to end it here
>unexpected things came up for me tonight
>I'll be back with the next thread tomorrow afternoon
