The sun was high in the sky, and the mountains were less than a day's walk away. Sky's base of operations was less than a day's walk away. At your side was Ariana, Astora, Kelaris, Cass, Thor, Lyra, and Tannis.

"That isn't fun." Lyra said, wiping down her armor to make certain it didn't get rusted from the water.
"It's fine for me and Abel." Astora said.
"That's because you can do your witchitude." Lyra said, and Astora grinned at her.

Kelaris didn't smile. Not even slightly. He just paced, impatiently, looking to the mountain that you'd discovered held Sky and her companions. Cass and Thor were talking in a low voice about what they planned to do after this, and you heard the word Sanctuary more than once.

Ariana simply sat there, her wings twitching now and then.
"There are some Forged to the south of us." She said, alert gryphon eyes peering out into the distance. "But they don't see us. They're just patrolling."

Tannis, for her part, had changed out of her sandborn clothing, and was once again wearing nothing but the animal furs that maenads tended to wear, drinking from the river.

"Then we'll head north for the treeline. The forest should slow them down if they come after us."

Calling it now, we're gonna die.
>>
"Then we'll head north, for the treeline." You say. "The forest should slow them down if they come after us."
"Good idea." Kelaris said, and set off, his hand on his sword. You and the rest of your group crept into the foliage, carefully winding north to northeast, dodging at least two more patrols. For their considerable strength and toughness, the forged had one downside- they weren't very aware of their surroundings, when not directly controlled.

Eventually, you reached a great basin at the base of the mountain, with a strange, dirt mound in the center, and multiple doorways set into the stone, nearly four or five hundred yards away. Kelaris pulled the group into the bushes, and you crouched, eyes wary. Through one of the doors, you see the obvious pink hair of Dirae walking, something in her arms, as she left one of the doorways and entered another.

"Up there." Ariana said, and you looked upward- set rather high in the mountain, nearly five stories up, was a great cave in the side of the mountain, open to the air. "I think I see forged up there."

"The mound in the center looks like a trap." Thor said.

You see no forged anywhere- but one of the doors, set low into the mountain was a squat, forged-sized oval, complete with a ramp leading up to it.

>Wat do?
>>
>>23283991
"It probably is a trap. Dirae *has* to die before Sky, and I'm sure at least Sky knows it."

I'd rather save our tenacity points for saving our friends lives rather than performing some big spell. Besides the spell cant kill dirae or sky.

"It probably is a trap." You say. "Dirae has to die before Sky, and I'm sure at least Sky knows it."
"So you think she's showing Dirae off, trying to coax you in." Kelaris whispered. "This isn't going to be easy. They know we're coming, and we're going to *have* to enter through one of those doors. They could have trapped any and all of them."

"Keep observing for now." You say, going perfectly still in the bushes.

You remember this. Crouching, creeping, staying still for hours at a time, watching for your quarry.

As you watch, Anakata came out, something else in her arms, and entered in another doorway. Gareth did the same, with two Glamoured village women following her, and you had to squeeze Kelaris's arm to keep him from leaving the bushes.

Finally, Sky stepped out, walking toward the mound in the center, before taking a seat down on it, sighing, looking up to the sky. She sat there for some time, until... a bulky, powerful man came out as well, wolfish features on his face, sitting down next to Sky. You recognized him, from months ago.

"... I thought I killed him." Astora said.
"That shapeshifting bastard." Cass said.
"Who?" Thor said.
"That man is a werewolf. We thought he was dead."

Massive destruction. Do iiiit.

>>
>You have two tenacity points.

There, the mound, the werewolf, and Sky sat there. You could say the Spell- it was merely a single word, but the cost... Was it worth it?

Lyra noticed the steely look in your eyes.
"If you use it now, you'll only kill the werewolf." She said. "We need to get Dirae before we get Sky."
"But it would disable her." Ariana said. "We don't know how long, but long enough."

"It'll give us the advantage." You say, and when the two get up after talking for some time, you knew it was now or never. The werewolf took Sky's hand, and gently kissed it, saying something-
And then you drew back your bow, kraken arrow in hand, and let loose.

It caught Sky in the chest, and she collapsed, her body locking up. You feel Magic inside of her, holding her still, preventing her from doing much of anything.

The werewolf suddenly whirled around, looking for someone, before picking Sky up and running toward the doorway.
Lyra raised her own crossbow, and fired at the werewolf, but missed.
As he ran, you notice... the mound move, slightly.

Can the giant thing even fit inside? It might be easier to avoid it, and go through the doors and save the tenacity.

At the very lease, wait until it shows itself, so we don't waste all the energy on the dirt covering.
>>
>>23284559
If it's a giant Forged, wait for it to be fully exposed before we hit it with the spell. If it doesn't move any more, keep watching.

>>23284618
>She went back inside.

"We need a way in that isn't past the mound." you say, and look- but the way the basin was shaped, there was no way to enter it without climbing over the rocks on the edges, or without leaving the cover of the foliage.

There was suddenly the sound of a loud howl, and then... a gong.

Then the ground started shaking, and tearing itself out of the ground was...

"Oh, gods." Kelaris said. You'd never heard that swear before. "It's a wyrm."

An enormous, muscled creature, with thick, stone-covered hide, the enormous snake-like burrower tore out of the ground, shooting into the sky, roaring, before diving back into the ground.

And... now the mound was moving around the entire basin. It was Awake, now.

The mountain was now in full operation, as you see three humans you don't recognize come out of the cave set high into the mountain, standing atop forged... with ballistae set into their backs. They stood on the ledge, Glamoured, ready for anything.
>>
>>23284687
Yeah, I'd like to wait for it to expose itself so we don't waste the spell on glassing the dirt.
>>
>>23284709
I wish we had companions that could use a bow.

Get Lyra to shoot the three humans with cold iron bolts, or our arrows if she doesn't have any, then drop a meteor on the wurm, it probably carved the damn place, then shoot any humans left ourselves.

Damn, that's not orbital bombardment material.

Cold Iron arrow the three humans with our bow and Lyra helping us.
>>
>>23284709
Is the Wyrm confined to the basin?
>>
"Lyra, shoot those up there with cold iron." You say.
"I just have sanctis, and I can't shoot that far!" She said, and started firing bolts upward, missing most of the time, her steel bolts sparking against the stone. "They don't give us much practice."
You draw your own bow, cold iron arrow in hand, and the powerful, dragon-made bow shot the arrow into the sky, where it caught one of the humans in the shoulder.

He had barely enough time un-glamoured to scream as he fell off the cliff, smashing into the ground below. You fire another cold iron arrow, and miss, the arrow shattering against the stone. Lyra catches him with a bolt just below the knee, but the glamoured man ignored it.

As if sensing the movement, the Wyrm tore out of the ground again, devouring the battered body when it came back down, and went back to it's patrol.
"It's a wyrm, oh god." Kelaris was saying, his eyes wide.
"Is the wyrm confined to the basin?" You ask.
"It's not leaving, but it could leap over." He said, his lips trembling. He grabbed something off of his hips and slammed it into your arms- Kale's book, bound in a satchel.
"Give that to Leez if that... that thing eats me." He said.

"If you can draw it out I'll use Cyan's spell on it."
>>
>>23284880
"Kelaris, you're about to do something extremely stupid aren't you?"

Keep on taking out the ballistae users, watch for what Kelaris is going to do, he's probably going to attack the Wyrm, we'll need to support him with that, a teleport on top of the wyrm and hammering it in the skull might work, or having Astora burninate it.
>>
>>23284880
"I'm not going to let that thing eat you."
We can draw it out by knocking another guy off, then use Cyan's spell when it comes up to eat him.

>It's a warpick. A onehanded weapon with a hammer on one side of the head, a long, curved spike shapes like a dragon's tooth on the other end.

"If it doesn't eat me too." You say, and fire another arrow- but miss again. the distance and angle is making things difficult.
"Kelaris, I need you to Glamour something- anything- in the center to draw it out. I'll hit it with the spell."
"I.. I can't." He said. "My origin... I can't make anything but visual glamours, and... it's blind."

He took a step forward- and you grabbed his shoulder again.
"Don't even think about doing something stupid." You say. "I promised to get you through this alive, and I damn well am going to keep that promise. Calm down."
"This... *thing* is the antithesis of my origin." He said. "It is the opposite of all things made. It's the destroyer. I can't change my nature, Abel. It is my foe. It is the foe of all elfkind. How did Gareth *tame* it?!"
"It was Sky." Ariana said.
>>
>>23285022
"Cass, Thor, go with Kelaris and try and coax the wurm out into the open. Kelaris, try to keep your head about it."

"Everyone else, we need to get closer so I can take out the last of those guys."

We still have a cold Iron arrow left, yeah? Save it for Gareth.
>>
>>23285022
"Let's drop a big hot bag of fuckin' space rocks on it."

Teleport in with Wyvern (it's restored iirc?), as we feel it jump into the air, spell, then teleport out.

>>

"I'm going to splatter it across the basin, Kelaris."
I'm for the teleport in, teleport out, SPLAT plan, myself.
>>
"I didn't say we aren't going to kill it." You say. "We're just going to go about it intelligently, not charge in blindly. We're going to *craft* a plan to kill it."

And then you draw Wyvern, and teleport into the heart of the basin. Blindly.

A ballista bolt slams down right next to you, and the two glamoured men set into the cliff fire again, barely missing.

Something tears out of the ground, as the Wyrm aims for you, and you part your lips, ready to cast the spell-

When something in your arm, something in your empty hand- shattered.

And a bright red dragon tore out of the sky, slamming into the Wyrm's head, raw momentum slamming the wyrm's head into the side of the basin, claws and teeth flailing and gnashing.

Another ballista bolt slams down next to you, and you quickly teleport back into the bushes, Wyvern hovering somewhere behind you. You can feel it- and it graciously warns you that if you use it two more times without sating it... it will eat you. You have one more free jump, it said.

Astora's eyes were low, and she was grinning. Her arm- and shoulder- was openly flaming, now. A light was in her eyes.
"Don't worry- I'll take care of it." She said, and you heard a dragon's exulting roar as it tore the wyrm asunder.
>>
>>23285177
Grin back at her.
"Well, I was going to call fire and brimstone down upon it, but it looks like you've got that part covered."

4. watch wyrm fly into the air
5. ????
6. It's raining wyrm, hallelujah! (Alternatively, profit!)

It was the only plan we had going, and it wasn't -too- bad. Exa was only doing what the general consensus was.
>>
"Well, damn." You say. "Looks like I don't get to rain fire on his parade." You say, and then you charge into the basin again, Wyvern in hand. The two glamoured men on the ballista were firing at Tori's familiar, but she shielded herself with the Wyrm's writhing, no doubt dying, corpse, rolling on her back so that the bolts slam into its hide.

Still charging, you had no idea how far the teleportation would go, but you had to hope...

And then you tore through space again, and you were in the sky, skidding down the cliff- and you caught yourself, wyvern still in hand, as you felt it nudging your shoulder. You pull yourself up, and then you're staring straight into a ballista.

The glamoured man didn't seem to notice, turning it to the dragon again, and you take the chance to kill both of them.

The three Forged, tailless, with ballista set into their backs, didn't seem to react to your sudden appearance. They simply weren't smart enough.

Wyvern was still nudging at your back. You didn't sate it, for whatever reason, the two dead corpses in the cavern.

looking around at the cavern proper, it was mostly empty, save ballista bolts and a few disabled forged, tools strewn about the ground- but they didn't seem to have power cores. There were two hallways on the left and right of the cavern you were in, and out of one of them, you hear a growl.

"You." The werewolf snarled, coming up the left hallway. "You're the one with the bow. You shot her, didn't you? Didn't you?!"

You slam your Aqua Sanctis rifle down at him, and sparks started dancing off of his constantly-regenerating body, melting it away just slower than he was regenerating. Buying time, you draw the rifle, one-handed, and then trying to hold it there, you pull the trigger.

Without the proper bracing... your hand shuddered, the two-handed weapon blasting out of your hand, as the shot went wide. The regenerating werewolf took an unsteady, half-regenerated step forward, and you drew the Avatar, slamming the spear through his skull, trying to chant again from the start- but his regeneration was too powerful.

Out of lack of anything else to do, you do the only thing you can, one arm paralyzed, bleeding and in pain- you kick him in the head, sheathe the avatar, pick up the dropped Sanctis carbine, and you run down the other hallway, bolting into the base, holding your shoulder, trying to keep pressure on it. You were bleeding, dizzy, and you stumble into some crates, in some sort of warehouse. Crates surrounded you, and you eventually sidled your back up against one of the walls, hidden by a crate.

Then you heard sniffling and padding, as the werewolf was tracking you through the warehouse.

"I smell you..." He said, and you still saw sparks dancing off from somewhere in the warehouse. He was still covered in Aqua Sanctis.

You grab one of your weightiest, thickest coins, inadvertently covering it in blood, and then you throw it across the warehouse, where it dinged against a crate. The werewolf darted in that direction, sniffing- and it apparently smelled the blood on the coin, getting closer.

Then you dart back to where you came from, making your way back to the large cave, several stories up. Below, you saw the basin, Astora's dragon trashing several Forged as they came out, your friends there. You waved- and you hear Ariana screech, tearing into the air, skidding down next to you.
"You!" The werewolf snarled, loping up the hallway.
"Climb on!" Ariana said, and you do so, clinging on with your one arm. She leapt out of the cave, soaring down to everyone else, who was hiding behind the stone corpse of the wyrm.

"Abel!" Astora said when she saw your shoulder. Dizzy, you almost fall off of Ariana, as Kelaris caught you.
"... It tore right through your scales." Cass said.

You note that Astora was holding your injured hand. You still didn't feel it.

You take a deep breath. "Severed... the nerve in my arm. Can't feel it. He regenerates too fast... for me to do anything to him." You say, as Thor started bandaging your shoulder.
Then you get an idea.

You pull out the blue phial you'd found at the cabin, and then you struggle to twist it open- and Astora twists it open for you.

You sip it- and then pain flashed into your arm for a moment, as the nerves started to reconnect, slowly but surely.
"... A... A healing potion." Kelaris said, as the healing stopped. You take another sip, and it healed more, and then another sip, trying not to waste any or take too much.

The wyrm's body twitched.
"The werewolf is shooting ballista bolts at us, now." Ariana said, peeking over, as you continually drank the potion. At about half-empty, your arm stopped burning, and your mind cleared, no longer woozy from pain or blood loss.

"What silver weapons do we have? I've only a few arrows." You say. "How do you think he survived being eaten, anyway?"
"You didn't eat him with silver teeth, or a silver stomach." Lyra said. "You kill a werewolf with silver. Nothing else, even completely destroying the body, or burning it into ash, will work."
"Void." Ariana said. "I can use Void."
"No." Astora responded. "If we can coax him out, I can... throw him away. Pick him up and take him too far away. to help Sky."
"My sword contains silver." Lyra said. "If I can get close to him..."

"If you guys can keep him away from me for about half a minute, I can cast the spell to remove him from the moon cycle." You say.

"... Then I guess it's a good thing he interrupted me earlier." You say. "Let's try and get Lyra to him, then. Ariana can carry her."
"What about the ballista?" Cass asked.
You turn to Astora.
"Can you break his ballista with the Gift of Flame?"
"There's nothing I can't break, now that my familiar is back." Astora said, and took a step out from behind the Wyrm. There were three flashes of fire and light, and the ballista snapped, their cables snapping from the heat.
"There. The ballista are gone." She said.

The oval forged-door opened, and more Forged started crawling out, as Astora's familiar started smashing them, taking to the air now and then to stay out of tail and pincer range.
"Go." Kelaris said, and Ariana shot into the air, Lyra on her back.
"I can't hold off the forged forever." Astora said. "If I go soultorn again from this, I'm going to be so pissed."

You take a deep breath, and, your head clear again, you evaluate your situation.
The basin now has a large Wyrm corpse on the right side of it, which you, Tannis, Cass, Thor, Kelaris, and Tori are waiting. The Forged door, and Tori's dragon, are fighting on the left side, as Forged keep climbing out. There were three separate doors in the front, as well as a large open cave at the top, where Ariana, Lyra, and the werewolf are fighting.
"The more time we waste, the more time they have to prepare." Kelaris said. "And... I need to kill Gareth while she's unaware."
In a quiet voice, he continued. "She knows my weakness."

"Alright." you say. "But if she is aware, just escape. We'll catch her for you." You say.
Kelaris nodded, gravely.
You suddenly turn to Tannis. "Tannis, I'd like you to do me a favor." you say, and she looked up at you.
"If you see Anakata, do not, under any circumstances, fight her." You say. "Just run."
"I will, but, um, why?" She asked. "I beat Anakata last time. It should be easy."
You just sigh, and turn to Astora.
"Everyone, hop on the dragon." You say.
Astora nodded, and the dragon slammed down next to all of you, and you all started climbing up.
"Watch your hands, everyone." Astora said, climbing up onto her own head. She darted into the air, and snagged ahold of the edge of the cave, the dragon too large to climb in properly, and you watched, as Lyra and Ariana doubleteamed the werewolf, Ariana pecking at his eyes now and then, while Lyra used her slab of a sword to hack deep divots in the ground, trying to kill him- and then finally, Ariana pounced, pinning the werewolf just long enough for Lyra to behead it. The wolf died, once and for all, turning back into a naked, burly man. Ariana, scandalized, looked away, while nobody else seemed to care, least of all Lyra.
"That was easy." Lyra said, panting. "Now what?"
"Now we go after Dirae." You say.
"She went into the leftmost door." Kelaris remembered. "And we haven't seen her since. I suspect that each door is a separate part of the base, else they wouldn't have been going into the basin so often."
>>

You put a hand on Ariana's shoulder, and she looked up to you.
"Then the left door it is." You say.

The group flies all the way to the ground, Astora keeping up a wall of flame between you and the Forged, as the group enters the left door.
"Keep your dragon in the sky, so it can't get hurt while we're in here." You tell Astora, and she nods, her dragon shooting up to the top of the mountain.

The cave was deep and dark, the walls smooth. You notice that the hallway was abnormally, incredibly long, and perfectly straight. At the very end of the hallway, in the dark, was a thin, wooden door, barely held together.
You had a foreboding feeling about this.

And then you see the deep gouges in the wall, ceiling, and floor.

The deep gouges with warped, fired slugs slammed into it. A lot of them.

A *lot* of fired bullets went on here.

"Ari!" You cry. "Void in front of us!"
"No!" Astora cried, and stepped forward. You then hear the unmistakable sound of a 2000 RPM minigun start firing. Astora put up her hand, as a great wall of fire burst into existence. "Everyone out! Ari, don't use Void!"

Her hand- and shoulder cracked, as heat poured out of her, disintegrating bullets tearing through the fire and melting before they could hit anyone. You feel the hissing noise as melted lead slammed into Astora's skin, and for the longest time, she stood there, until the whirring stopped.

Then Astora collapsed, rapidly-drying lead covering her body, her skin scalded.
You hear clicks in the next room, and you saw her sitting on an elevated dias, feeding a new belt into her minigun, still giggling.
"Don't use Void. don't, Ariana. Run." Astora said, her teeth gritted.

You bodily leap over the fallen Astora, and run, spear in hand, as you charged toward Dirae. You leap past the Forged who had stepped in the way, and, spear in hand, you... miss, as she leapt away from the mounted minigun. She started giggling, a heavy maul in hand, as Cass and Thor started trying to smash through the Forged.
Dirae just grinned, and brought her hammer down on you. You stepped out of the way, shooting your spear toward her gut.

Her eyes glowing orange, she knocked the tip of your spear away, her hands a blur.
"I'll be serious, now." She said, and smiled.
Then she dropped the hammer, her palms open.
What happened next was... terrifying.
>Field too long!
>>
Reality started to twist, planes becoming vertexes, points becoming lines, as the world fell into non-geometry.
You were no longer looking at a young, maddened girl with pink hair.
You were looking at the source of all madness, bright orange eyes staring out at you, hands covered in it's own blood. You couldn't see the walls, or floor, or your companions. They were unfocused, blurry.
The madness was wearing Dirae's face like a mask, and then, with a blur, it replaced it's own mask with Astora's.
It was a pale, pale imitation of what Gabriel had once done to you, back when you first met your sister in the Order Base. She was trying to replace Astora, like Gabriel had once replaced you.
"I can be anyone." The coiled, black and red madness said, wearing the mask. "See?"
Then it picked up the hammer again, as the Forged- and your companions behind you- shattered and fell apart, their shards blowing with the wind.
But you still had the Avatar, and your weapons.

"You can't even be yourself." You say, and then plunge your spear into the coiled madness's gut.

She recoiled... and just like when you killed Stirge, you appeared... somewhere else.

A beach, long ago, when Dirae had first killed Astora's dragon. Except... twisted. Your companions were there, perfectly still, as hooks in their cheeks pulled their mouths into grimacing smiles, the ground glass below your feet instead of sand, the ocean jellified and rough, crusted over like a seeping wound. You see a kraken somewhere in the distance, greyskinned, oozing, moaning as it crawled across the surface of the scabbed wound. Forced to live, like a rough, ugly thing *pretending* to be alive. It was a puppet.

<Welcome to ElysiuM.> Eleven said, the overturned dragon frozen in place, it's ribcage open. the only thing moving was the rapidly beating heart, going haywire, glowing pink. <... BeforE you kill me... Did I make him happy? Did I? Did I? Did I Did I Did I Did I->

You tone her out, bring your spear to bear, and go forth with your grim work.

You open your eyes again, spear in hand, and Cass finished trashing the second Forged.

Kelaris froze.

Now you knew why he hated Gareth so much. Luckily... you also knew what to do.

"Kelaris, catch!" You say, and throw the book at him.

And then Kale caught it- and brought down KElaris's sword onto Gareth, slamming it into her skull.

You hear an echo, and the sound of dripping throughout the world. Dripping... and the sound of a spider chittering.
And then Gareth was gone. That sound, that... Origin... was the only corpse Gareth would ever leave.

"I try to keep my promises." You say. "Don't just toss that sword away. You don't have to keep it, but the sword of a Grand Knight ought to be given to his great, great, lots of greats, grandchildren. Kelaris does deserve to be remembered."
"Oh, good point." He said, with a solemn nod. "But it's safer if I don't touch it."
You pick up the sword, and put it in your bag with your other belongings.
"Now. who's ready to burn a cat?" You ask.
"Cass, Thor, grab that gun off of that dais." You say, as you lock in the belt feed for the minigun.
"... This works like the other gun, right?" Cass asked. "The one you showed me?"
"But it's larger." You add.

Cass grinned. "Thor, you carry it and help me brace, I'll fire it."

The sound of the two thousand RPM minigun later, the broken and twitching Forged lay strewn about the basin, crushed or destroyed by the weapon, as it tore right through their armor and broke their gears.

"This is going to be easy!" Cass said, and stepped into the first doorway-
Then she and Thor collapsed, their necks sliced open, as they collapsed, a blur going right past them.
>Field too long!

>>23287932
Anakata stood straight again, troll blood covering two long, forward-pointed knives on her hands. Kalid wristblades, or something similar.

Thor started gurgling as he willed his wound to regenerate, lying on the ground. Astora raised her hand- and she fell to her knees, holding her shoulder in pain. Now that you're not sharing her pain, she has to deal with it all on her own- and she just expended a lot of flame.

Kale, Ariana, and you all shared looks, and got ready to fight.

Tannis, meanwhile, tackled Anakata, claws extended.

"Tannis, back off!" You cry.
Tannis, wrestling with Anakata, didn't listen.
"I beat her last time!" Tannis called back.

You turn to Kale. "Glamour her!" You say.
He closed his eyes and focused... and shook his head.
"She's wearing cold iron." He said, and then charged.

The three of you make your way toward the wrestling, blurring maenad, fighting and yowling and scratching-
And then Tannis stumbles, and Anakata dove, blade in hand-
So you took out Wyvern- and leapt.

And Anakata's wristblade shot into your stomach, silver blades jamming themselves into your chest, slipping through your ribs.

Wyvern, behind you, bares his teeth, and opens his mouth to devour you-

And then, holding Anakata's wristblades inside of you, you behead her. Wyvern, sated, fell back.

And then you realize that you can't breathe, and collapse, as red comes up to steal your vision.

You come to, as Tannis, sobbing, was forcing you to drink your own potion, the healing patching up your lung as you cough up some blood, finally able to take air into your lungs again.
Everyone, worried- even Cass and Thor, who were mostly regenerated, stood around you.
"Did it work?" Tannis sobbed. "Abel, are you okay?"

She gave you a hug- and then kissed you on the lips, breathing you in- and then darted away as Astora stepped closer.
"I- I uh-" Tannis said... and then turned into a cat, running behind one of the Forged bodies, creeping behind it. She wasn't hiding very well- her tail poked out, writhing and wagging with anxiety.

Astora sighed, and pulled you to your feet.
"That was stupid." She said. "That was really really stupid."
"Best plan ever." You say. "I knew it would work.

Astora smacked you in the back of the head, then sighed.
"Now, let's go kill Sky." She said.

"Good plan." You say.
"If I recall correctly," Ariana said. "The werewolf took Sky through the center door."
"She'll still be paralyzed by that arrow." you say. "And if she isn't, I'll be pissed."

The group made their way into the middle doorway, and climb in, going down the hallway. You pass what looked like an open dining room, several bedrooms- some labeled for Gareth, some for Anakata, one without a name- but a wolf paw, so you expect it belonged to the werewolf- and then you go up the coiling, spiral set of stairs at the very end of the hallway.

You go higher and higher up the mountain, in the front of the group as your friends walk, and eventually, you enter a large room, no doubt above the cave from earlier.

It was a humongous, stone room, nearly fifty completed forged standing there, Sky sitting in a seat near the top, a staff in one hand and a gauss rifle in the other.

She met your eyes... then sighed, dropping the gauss rifle. Waved her staff, and the forged split, giving you passage to her seat- and she tossed the staff toward you, where it collided against the floor- and you heard a snap as something inside broke.

The Forged collapsed, dead.

"... Do it." Sky said, eyes half lidded, and her mouth moving strangely. She was still mostly paralyzed, you could tell.

"Next time, if there is a next time," You said. "Just live your life. Erase all your memories. Be someone else."
And then you stabbed her.

There you were, reality twisting around you, as you were transported to the same Somewhere that you went when you slayed Stirge, and Dirae.
Except this time... it was the inside of a great dome, computers covering the walls, with a glass cage in the center. Sky stood there, hugging her knees, entirely nude.

And then I smashed the glass, freeing her.

Hello, Abel, I said, a blurry figure in front of you.

My name is Azure. Sorry about pulling you into all this. There's just not much to do, most of the time.

Then I turned to the girl in the cage, and sighed... and pulled Sapphire to her feet.

"So, this one's over." Sapphire said. "Next time I might put myself into a puppet like you did with Abel."

But... I'm not controlling Abel, I said, confused. I thought that was you, I said.

BUT FIRST... WE ASK YOU. Rogue said. MAY WE HAVE THE VALE?
AND ABEL? AND CASSANDRA, AND ASTORA? Ares asked.
THE WITCHES, THE MAENAD, THE ORDER? ATLASK, THE FREE CITIES? Rogue continued.

Quietly, very quietly, Ares continued.
<I once said, to the sapient AI you birthed, Abel... that his friends did not exist, in that fictional world, in your mental world. I asked him if he considered them real, no matter how fictional they were. Does he still feel that way?>

Your mind reeled- you were confused, and you didn't understand it, and your head pounded. I, for my part, was speechless.

<There are one quintillion, one hundred and fifty-two quadrillion, nine hundred and twenty-one trillion, five hundred and four billion, six hundred and six million, eight hundred forty-six thousand, nine hundred seventy five realities that exist.> Rogue said. <I control one very far away from here. WE CAN WORK TOGETHER, I SUPPOSE. They said, at the same time.

Stay in contact, yeah? I asked. D-does that mean that the squids control everything, everywhere?

WE'RE THE STORYTELLERS. They said. THAT'S ALL WE'VE EVER BEEN.

And then they were gone.

Abel was gone.

The entire Vale was missing, the simulated world inside my head. Deintegrated shards of myself- The Cadmium Dynamics West AI, Eleven, even Sapphire- all remained, but Abel... that strange, peculiar AI I'd generated, the one who claimed sapience... was gone.

And then suddenly, the radio crackled.

I have, but then anon mentioned that it was rather shitty to put my name on something that was made with a ton of your guys' input, and I felt bad about it. I still might, though.
>why did the beginning suck such hairy donkey dong
I don't know why, really. Abel was lackluster as a character until around the second thread, and decided 'fuck it' and suddenly Hyperintelligent Space Squids out of nowhere come to watch Azure tell stories to herself to pass the time (and meddle. A lot. All of the crossover names and such between SORQ and VaQ was explicitly Rogue's meddling.)

>>
>>23289405
I did like Ishelda. She ended up as pretty much the scariest person in the world but did her best not to draw attention to that unless someone was being evil.

She could threaten to rip your soul out and make it burn for all eternity and follow through, but she tried not to do things like that.

Well, if their ship/airships count as gear, then Dave would win. Jormungandr (or even fafnir) is significantly more powerful than any magic Ishelda could pull out of her hat.

If it was on an infantry scale, then Ishelda would win. She could transmute his 'drites into pool noodles or something, and then teleport him into a pit or something similar.

Unless, of course, there was a large dice dichotomy between the two. Then the one who rolls higher would win.

Do you remember at the start of the quest when we asked the SpaceSquids about the other weapons? They said the other wielders were out of phase, so we could never meet them.

what was that all about.
>>
>>23289001
Forgot to ask, but are we still immune to Astora's fire?
>>
>>23289810
Straight fist fight? No magic powers, no armor, no powered armor?

That's a tougher question. Ishelda has a lot of brawling experience and is a muscle-sorceress-queen, but Dave has size, weight, and reach on her, and a lot of his internal workings were replaced with superior counterparts, and he can shut off his sense of pain manually and just move by wire.

I'd give it to Dave.
>>
>>23289844
Probably not.
>>
>>23289810
In a fair fistfight?

Well, if Dave didn't use his augs, Ishelda would kick his ass. She ended up a musclegirl near the end of SORQ, if I recall correctly, while Dave was mostly a slightly-overweight nerd, without his augs. With his bullet time, though, he'd probably win.

SHHH, RETCONS. SHHH.
In reality, that was supposed to be a sort of idea that an alternate dimension version of Abel was the one that took up the other weapons... but then I decided the whole Seed thing is a better idea. In short, I retconned. I've got to stop doing that, and that's why I'm taking more time for psion quest, so I can hammer things out so that I won't have to retcon anything.

>>23289844
Oh, right, forgot to answer.

Yes. Yes, you are. You've gained immunity to the Gift of Flame.

That was Onyx's boon.
>>
>>23289957
Does any body else know that Astora is pregnant?
>>
>>23290037
Nobody that Abel knows of, but Cat, the crone, does. Onyx told her.
>>
>>23290037
I'm not entirely sure Tori knows that yet. Onyx could've said it so that only Abel could hear it.
>>
>>23290080
grandma always knows
>>
>>23289957
Please tell me we took the minigun as a trophy.

and some powercores to rebuild Gearworks.
>>
Can we still use our weird abilities brought about by cheating?
>>
>>23290144
You still have the guns, and the knowledge of how to use them, and any knowledge you explicitly used, but the rest of the 'bleedthrough' effects will go away over time.
>>
>>23290174
Perfect, we'll corner the pocketwatch market when we retire from adventuring!
>>
>>23290174
Does that mean we're skilled with spears and hammers as well now?
>>
>>23290198
Why would you need to? You could just get paid for separating shapeshifters from their moons, or... nothing, since the Catastra estate is rich as hell.

>>23290202
You are, yes.
>>
>>23290256
man, there is NEVER an excuse to NOT make money, just because you have it does NOT mean that you can't make more.
>>
>>23290256
Everyone needs a hobby. Also we'd never charge cashmoneys for helping out wereforms.
>>
>>23290256
We wouldn't be able to name ourselves Old Man Abel the Clockmaker though.
>>
>>23290256
Abel actually learning to be a master smith would be a cool hobby.

I thought we were going to give her skills back.

Just caught up. I did not see this end coming, and especially not this soon.

Well done, and it's been a pleasure questing with you.
>>
>>23290793
I don't think we can.
She said that she'd have to relearn everything.
Heh. Abel can teach her.
>>
>>23290810
I think she just meant that she'd be relearning how to tattoo while Abel held onto her skills.
>>
>>23290843
>>23290810
No, she meant she'd relearn the skills she gave you, while she kept her tattooing (and expertise in bed) so she has something to do while she relearns it all.
>>
>>23290843
It's been a while, and I don't feel like going back to check, but I think she gave us everything except her tattooing skills and that she'd have to relearn it.
