>I hope you don't have anything better to do, because it's time for...
>Wizard Curse: Plump Grabbable Ass Quest 17

You are Roger Smith, a young man, turned young woman by way of crazy ass-magic, currently tied up in a personal quest to reclaim control of your life and gender and break the curse of the magical and possessed dress that you are stuck wearing and that will slowly drive you crazy if left alone.

With the help of your accidentally summoned Succubus familiar, a bandit you turned into a cat girl in self-defense, a six-armed Asuran pilgrim, and your retired adventurer parents, you have made it to the Bridge City of Arisca and secured a meeting with two famous Wizards.

You managed to impress the Master Wizards Ocotob and Rossellini enough to secure a sort of apprenticeship under one of them. After some short deliberation, you decided to study under Tom Rossellini in hopes of learning enough about Enchanting to begin unraveling the Dress's many enchantments. It's been three days since the first meeting and you've been busy moving into and getting situated in Tom's workshop.

>How this works
I type up the story, guided along by the suggestions and choices that people suggest. I can't possibly implement every idea, but I'll try to work in a lot of them alongside doing my usual thing. So, if you've got any ideas, or things you'd like to see, do post them. It helps me to write faster and makes things more interesting.

Also, since it matters, if you want to suggest things for Roger to do, then do so in plain text. If you want to suggest things as Lucile and the Dress, the proverbial devil on Roger's shoulder, you can do so in spoiler text. ([*spoiler]words here[*/spoiler] minus the asterisks)

I'll also use dice rolls whenever I feel like it to shape some decisions. Instead of just giving it to the highest roll, since that's stupid, I give you a target number, and you have a certain number of posts to meet or beat that number on 3d6. For instance, if I were to tell you to hit 12 or better in 4 rolls, if any of the first 4 dice rolls following that prompt roll 12 or higher, then you succeed. Otherwise, you fail.

Rolling dice does not give you narrative control or direct influence over what happens next any more than any other post. Rolling can just as easily get the opposite of what you want.

The past three days have kept you busy. Following your successful meeting, you had one last night with your parents and had a small party to celebrate your successful apprenticeship before they finally parted ways with you and headed back home to await your return. Jultun even brought you flowers, a bouquet of lilies, as a congratulatory gift. The humor of it was lost on him and everyone else, except Millia. You've still got them in a vase, sitting on your new desk in your new lodgings above Tom's workshop.

Your new room is more of an attic, but in terms of floorspace, it's considerably larger than the single room you had back at the Feisty Penguin, though considerably less furnished. Thankfully, you had that mysterious sack of coins, which allowed you to afford a bed, some shelves, and a desk. Hekaton was an invaluable asset for getting all of it up to your third floor room.

You had to do some convincing, but you got Tom to agree to let Danny and Hekaton stay with you. He was wary of you bringing your whole party along for lessons, and even more curious as to what you expect your party to do while you're taking your lessons. Millia was kind enough to suggest that she had plenty of business in the city to keep her busy, that Danny could tag along, and that Hekaton could still train at his uncle's gym.

As long as they stay out of the workshop area, they are welcome to live in with you in your attic. Obviously, one of the first things you did was set up a divider and a series of strategically placed silence wards. Hekaton doesn't seem to mind the new accommodations, but he doesn't seem keen on hanging around for several months, or even years, while you learn magic. You'll have to find a way to keep him

You've yet to start any actual work under Tom's guidance, just yet. He's had you purchase some study material first and left you to learn the basics of enchanting before launching into any serious lessons. This meant a trip to the book store and a visit with Taiva, the lovely Elven Librarian.

She was quite impressed with your new apprenticeship, having never met anyone who worked for such a prestigious figure. The Rossellini Enchantment Company is quite well known all around the world, according to her.

While picking up your new books, once more thankful for the windfall of anonymously donated coins, you were able to finally schedule a proper date with Taiva. Your initial plan of having her come find you at the Feisty Penguin never panned out, and the past few days have been nonstop. You haven't even really had any time to really settle down and have a proper play session with Millia, making her settle for some light fooling around before bed.

Fortunately, your schedule has aligned with Taiva's, leaving you both with tomorrow afternoon clear for your date, though you're not sure if she knows it’s a date. Either way, it should be pretty nice taking a tour of the city with her.

It's morning now, and you're looking forward to your first lessons under Tom. You've been studying the basics extensively for the past few nights, using the spell Millia taught you to rapidly read through the book, which you've done several times already. This has given you some much needed insight into the enchanting process, as well as made you feel especially lucky to be working in one of the best workshops in the world. The wealth of resources and materials available to you as Tom's student.

The enchanting process requires some expensive materials and equipment, neither of which you'd never be able to afford on your own. Tom has them in bulk.

You head downstairs after changing up your outfit, something you've gotten used to doing every morning, so as not to arouse any suspicion with Tom and his assistants. Luckily Lucile and the Dress have been very cooperative with the constant wardrobe changes. The idea of getting dressed up for the sake of a man seems to sit well with them.

You first stop in the kitchen to grab something to eat. Millia and the rest of your party can sleep in while you get to work. Not like they are allowed in the workshop anyways. They'll probably be up in and hour or two, anyways. From the sounds of it, Hekaton and Jultun might start training together to pass the time and Millia is going to be training Danny on ladylike etiquette.

The back end of the store where the workshop is housed is especially impressive, you think to yourself. Through the use of some extensive enchanting on the structure of the building itself, refined over generations of research by his family, Tom has created a room that is ten times larger on the inside than it is on the outside, allowing him to maintain a storefront in Arisca's classier districts without needing to take up any more space than normal. It's his pride and joy, as far as personal works go.

You aren't alone in the workshop for long before Tom comes shuffling down the stairs. He nods at you before detouring into the kitchen, then returning with a mug of coffee in hand, which he seems to sip from perpetually as he approaches you. "You ready to learn, kiddo?"

You nod eagerly. The excitement of all of this is enough to make you forget about dresses and curses, just for a little while. You get to learn magic and enchanting from the best in the business!

Tom smirks and begins to prepare the worktable, "Alright, then.. Tell me, what is it you want to make?" The question catches you off guard. You go to say something, but pause to think about it.

"There has to be something. You went out of your way to get my attention and become my apprentice. You've been studying my books nonstop for the past few days.. There has to be some idea you're itching to bring to life." He takes a sip from his mug again, "I'm not going to waste any time here. We're going to start big and see what you're really capable of."

>Well? I know it took forever to get here, but what is it you want to start making?

May as well go big, you think to yourself. "I want to learn how to create a room that's bigger on the inside like this one," you finally tell him. He raises a single eyebrow and takes another sip. "I figure you'd go for some kind of staff or invisibility cloak," he glances towards the stairs, "Is the attic not big enough for all of you up there?"

You shake your head, "No, no! It's plenty of space, but.. If we're going to start with the big stuff, why not something like that?" Tom sighs as he realizes that he just went and made a lot more work for himself. "Can't fault your ambition, Dorothy," he says softly before straightening himself up and readjusting his dirtied robes, "Well, setting up another expanded room is a lengthy and difficult process. We'd have to open up the walls rip up the floorboards to get to the internal structure.. Would you be alright with something smaller, first? If you can pull this off, it's a considerable leap forward from your complete lack of experience."

You nod along, letting him talk, "Smaller would be fine, Mast-" you cut yourself off, feeling the slightest twinge of the dress on your tongue. "..Tom." He chuckles and tuts you, "I keep telling you, no more formalities. My assistants would start getting the wrong idea if I brought in some cute young thing and made he call me 'Master' all the time." Oooh~! He thinks you're cute! He's never said that before!

You lower your head some, "Just a slip of the tongue.. I apologize." He shrugs and begins laying out a large sheet of paper, "No harm done. Now," a nearby quill springs to life and begins moving across the paper, outlining what you've learned is a basic enchanting circle, "A simpler version of this expanded interior enchantment can be used for bags, boxes, wardrobes, and stuff like that. If you can learn to do this, then I might just let you loose to try this on your own room. What is it you want to expand the insides of?"

+1 for Bag/Box of holding, a box would probably be easier since it's stable but a bag is more convenient.

You discuss the possibilities with Tom for a short while before you come to the conclusion that a bag would be the best idea, since it is simple and practical. Tom begins to outline some of the basic elements of the enchantment, most of which you understand without much difficulty. In the past few days, you'd learned a lot from speed-reading through Tom's books over and over.

Enchanting was a process that involves and enchanter binding a particular spell or magical effect and any contingent effects into an object. A wide variety of different materials must then be used to seal the enchantment into the object and create a conduit for it, so it can continue to absorb ambient magical energy from the air around it, thus staying charged and usable. Everything else just comes down to magical knowledge and how skillfully an enchanter can weave a spell.

With most of the groundwork laid, all that's left is for you to get a suitable bag. Tom suggests something new and unused, so there's nothing that might interfere with the process. So, you head out to search the market for a suitably stylish and magically untainted bag to use. You'd gotten familiar with the local area in the past couple days, while shopping for the rest of your furnishings, so you are able to quickly locate a supply store that has what you're looking for.

You pick out a nice, light satchel bag made of a soft leather that's been dyed a sort of sky blue color and pay for it, still dipping into your mystery funds to cover the cost. You've yet to even spend the platinum coin, yet. Maybe you won't have to. Tom has mentioned, offhand, that once you get comfortable int he workshop, he may be start to pay you a small salary.

When you arrive back at the Rossellini Enchanting Company, Tom's Assistants have already shown up to officially open the shop.

and the last is a tama and probably the one whose skill is closest to Tom but because of his small stature none of the clients appears to take him/her seriously at the dismay of his coworkers as that cause him to sometime anger him and at other make him go into depression, by a cruel twist of fate his best work is done while under depression.

You return to the Rossellini Enchanting Company and enter through the front door. An enchanted chime rings out a melodious tune, one which changes every time its rung to avoid any annoyance on the part of the workers.

Oswald bows politely to you and holds open the partition so you can enter the workshop. He runs the storefront for Tom, handling any sales, appraisals, request negotiations, and everything to do with keeping the sales floor looking immaculate for customers. He's an older human, already graying at the temples, with a bushy black moustache and a pair of spectacles balanced on the bridge of his nose. You try not to think of him as a butler, but he's just so damn respectful and helpful to you and the other Assistants.

Speaking of the other Assistants, the rest of them have arrived to put in their daily work while you were out shopping. Each one was more or less autonomous, since Tom was an especially hands-off sort of boss.

Oswald process any requests or orders and sets them up on the board for the employees to pick and choose which projects they work on, unless the order specifically asks for one of them by name to fill the order. When this happens, it usually means a nice little bonus for that worker. The only catch to the system is that Tom gets first dibs on any orders that come in, allowing him to cherry pick his workload.

You immediately see that Abigail and Casey has taken up their post at their side-by-side worktables. You've been warned several times already not to mess with their work areas, even though you haven't even had the chance to go near them til now.

Abigail is a human woman who is few years older, and about a head taller, than you. She always carries herself like a princess walking amongst her subjects, but she's really not that bad. She just takes her work very, very seriously. You've overheard her talking about enchanting as an art-form before. You've never seen anyone criticize her work. She has lovely, smooth auburn hair that she keeps long and tied back when she's working, which is most of the time. You've yet to see her in plain clothes, but even her work clothes are quite nice.

Casey is Abigail's boyfriend or maybe fiance. You haven't dared to pry on that subject, just yet. His actual name is something in Elven, but no one around even attempts to pronounce it.

From the looks of him, you'd think he was a brute. He's built much like Arthur, though somewhat slimmer a ten foot tall pillar of muscle. He's a half-elf like you, except his other half is giant. It's hard to really tell what kind of person he is, since he doesn't talk much, unless he's bickering with Abigail. That's what led you to assume they were some sort of couple. When he does talk, though, it definitely sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

Over in the corner was Edmund, hard at work at his custom-built worktable. Being a Tama, and thus quite short, he required a lowered work space. From what Tom had told you directly when he introduced you to the three of them, Edmund was the second best in the shop, next to Tom himself. Tama weren't magically null, like the Tau, but it was rare to find one with such innate talent like him.

Edmund's plating was a steely cobalt color with a sleek and efficient style that gave him a certain unearthly quality. Unlike others of his kind, which styled themselves after common types of armor and equipment, his was especially mechanical.

You offer a polite wave and a smile to them as you pass through, careful to give each one a wide berth, to avoid interfering in any way. Casey nods, Abigail doesn't even look up, and Edmund raises an inscription implement in your direction.

You return to Tom's worktable and hold up the bag for him to see. He takes it without saying anything and begins to examine it for a short while before turning the whole thing inside out, "This is going to be our work surface. This is where you're going to bind the enchantment to the rest of the bag."

While you were gone, he'd prepared a proper magic circle for you, while also detailing the elements of the 'expanded interior' effect on a separate sheet for you. He begins to fetch some materials and set them out for you, "I've done a lot of the hard work for you. The trick here is casting the spell with enough skill through the circle into the bag, then sealing it properly so it becomes an enchantment. If you can follow directions well enough, then you should be able to do this." Tom takes a step back and leaves you to take the lead.

You take a deep breath and begin to pull from the knowledge you'd acquired from studying. First, prep the item with a suitable catalyst to act as the conduit. You look through the materials Tom had supplied. You reach for one, but something on Tom's instructions catches your eye. You instead reach for something more potent, to properly contain the spell. You catch Tom nodding out of the corner of your eye. You take a brush and begin to apply a sort of crystal-infused adhesive to the inside of the satchel/

"You can do this...", you tell yourself under your breath as you start the spell casting portion. This was Tom's personally crafted spell. Messing it up would be insulting, now that you think of it.

You read over the instructions one last time, thoroughly double checking every bit of his handwriting before you begin to cast...

You begin to weave the spell, creating a sort of ribbon of arcane instructions that you guide along the prepped inside-out surface of the satchel. It's almost like knitting, you imagine, as you lay out the ribbon across the satchel, embedding the magic into it.. But as you reach the end of the spell, things don't feel quite right.

The spacing on the enchantment doesn't seem quite right. You distinctly remember reading something about 'closing the chain' when you finish with an enchantment.. Nothing seems to be happening to the bag either...

You bite your bottom lip and look to Tom for guidance. He doesn't look disappointed , but he doesn't look happy either. He shakes his head and approaches your worktable. With a flourish of his wrist he reaches over to the bag and grabs your enchantment with his bare hands. You'd never seen someone handle magic in that way. With a stiff tug, the whole thing becomes unraveled, leaving only a puff of smoke.

"You need to think of your spell like a piece of string that you are lining all along the object you are enchanting. It needs to be wrapped around the object and tied off to stay in place," he explains in a very, as-a-matter-of-fact tone. You shrink back meekly as he dismantles your work with ease. "You need to estimate and space out your spell along the surface."

He pulls up a sort of metal rig consisting of several metal arms. It's like the sort of thing that watchmakers or jewelers use to hold their work in place, except much larger. He begins to clip the bag to it so it is hung up in the air for you, "It also helps to have the full surface of the object available to you to work on."

Tom pats you on the back and urges you forward to the table again, "Try one more time."

>27!

You start the process one more time, carefully spacing your ribbon of enchantment around the satchel, outlining and tracing the edges of the bag, eventually bringing it to a close along the inner mouth of the satchel, neatly closing the whole thing upon itself.

You draw your hands back and finally take a breath. Tom's not moving any closer to tear it apart, so that's a good sign..

Suddenly, the fabric of the satchel begins to distort and warp before your eyes. Your face lights up for a moment then turns to an expression of surprise and fear as the bag begins to expand outward across the work table, knocking things over in the process.

What once was nothing more than a few square feet of leather and fabric now looks like a bed sheet spread haphazardly over your worktable. Tom finds it quite funny, from the sounds of it.

The two of you pull it down from the rigging and Tom helps you to stuff in the insides all the way back into the back, turning it outside-in. Amazingly, your enchantment works perfectly and as it is reoriented, all that spacious fabric folds in on itself, returning the satchel back it it's proper dimensions.

To give it a proper test, Tom fetches a broom and has you hold the bag open for him while he presses the broom into the bag, making it vanish without any distortion or visible changes to the outside of the bag.

"Not bad at all, Dorothy!" he keep pressing forward, til he's shoulder deep in the satchel, "There's still more for you to learn about the orientation and application of the spell chain, but this is admirable work for a beginner.. Even if I did do all the hard parts for you." He looks up and smirks at you, letting you know he's kidding with you. He pulls the broom from the satchel and sets it down.

"I think you'll do fine here," his smirk turns into a smile, which you gladly return in kind.

"Thank you, Tom," you tell him with every ounce of sincerity you can muster.

Tom leaves you to clean up the worktable while he goes to find something suitable for you to do. It doesn't take long to arrange things and get the table looking nice again. As a little momento, you roll up the magic circle and take the notes Tom left for you, and place both of them into the satchel.

You take a moment to hold it up and examine it with the Arcane Sight spell, just to make sure everything is in order. You'd studied enough to know that even working enchantments can degrade over time if they aren't constructed properly.

With Arcane Sight activated, you are able to see the way your bag is slowly sapping ambient mana from the air. The flow is steady and consistent, no doubt because of the magic circle Tom drafted for you. More importantly, you can see the lines of arcane script, magically inlaid throughout the satchel in the same configuration your applied them in.

There's nothing special about the way you arranged it. You just sort of oriented it in the most obvious and efficient way. You glance over your shoulder to take a peek at what Abigail is working on, just to see how she does it.

She has a breastplate in front of her, one which she is quickly and effortlessly casting a spell into. Her work, unlike yours, has an undeniable elegance to it. Instead of just laying the spell along the edges, the way you did, the ribbon of her enchantment is like fine calligraphy, expertly entwined into the armor.

It's a shame, you think, that only other magic users can see such things. It almost seems like a waste that such beautiful work would go unnoticed.

You step out of the workshop and head to the kitchen for the time being. You have a little time to yourself, and there's still the rest of the afternoon ahead of you. Tom will probably return at some point with more work for you, but for now, you are free to do what you please.

You find a ripe peach in the pantry and settle down for a short while to relax. The tension of failing that first enchantment in front of Tom still hangs over you for a moment. You don't want to seem like a helpless fool in front of him.. Not just because of the dress or because you are worried about disappointing your teacher, but because you don't want him hovering over you all the time.

Eventually, once you get the hang of all of the intricacies of enchanting you need to start untangling all these enchantments and curses tangled in the dress..

Speaking of which... Lucile? Are you okay? You've been questionably well behaved today. Hmmm? Who? Me? Just fine, sweetheart! That doesn't inspire confidence.. You were worried about all this being around a master Wizard and member of the consortium might do.. We'll be fine! Just as long as he doesn't get too creative with the way he orders you around.. or if you don't disappoint him too badly.. I might have to do something about that..

You sigh and take a big bite out of the peach. Just as long as you keep Tom appeased or, at least, not prone to ordering you to do anything.. Getting him to talk magical theory isn't bad either.. I like a man who can discuss the finer points of the Arcane Arts..
>>
>>23510741
Oh HO. The Dress is being quiet in the presence of its Masters, and since he isn't giving orders, she's getting a reprieve! The Dress wouldn't dare show initiative in front of the ones who own it, leaving Lucile safe!

Well, I must say this is quite the interesting development. How does this tie into what we know about enchanted items?
>>
>>23511194
Might want to ask Tom about how you could weave an intelligence into an enchantment, I guess? That's basically what we have here.
>>
>>23510741
Tell Lucille that we'll try to get him to talk Magic with us later. Thank her for her time, and get back to magicing things, look at the other people's projects with Magic sight, try to get inspired by them.
>>
So, I think Tom would appreciate us showing some initiative here. What do we want to get magicing next?

There was talk about enlarging our wardrobe or a box, yes?

And the obvious choice is augmenting armor in some way. Or perhaps tinkering if the dress by adding something to it, if we are feeling very ambitious...

Wouldn't be that hard. With everyone living in the attic, going 'mine' on something would seem only natural.

It sounds like Lucile will be okay for the time being. You decide to detour your way to your attic room to check on the rest of your party to see what they're up to.

On the way up, you catch Hekaton heading out. He leans down and Danny reaches up to kiss him before he leaves. "Training?" You ask him, to which he answers with a nod and, "Gonna go knock Jultun around." Just yesterday, the swordsman who trained Arthur arrived in Arisca to begin Jultun's training. Hekaton has been helping out by acting as his sparring partner. Poor kid. Hekaton doesn't pull his punches as much against male opponents.

When you enter the room, Danny has already taken a seat on the modest carpet in the middle of the room, across from Millia. She has a stiff brush in one hand, which she is using to scrub Millia's foot.

Millia smiles and raises her other leg, wiggling toes in your direction, "Afternoon, darling! I'm teaching Danny about hygiene." Danny seems rather focused on the task at hand, dutifully scrubbing away. "Huh.. Anything I should be here to learn?" you ask curiously, taking a seat to watch the two of them. Millia shakes her head, "I doubt it.. Danny, being the adorable little urchin she is never really had the chance to practice regular grooming in the first place. It's something of a remedial course."

You look to Danny, "And you're okay with this?" Danny shrugs, taking Millia's other foot and beginning the scrubbing process again, "I can't jus' keep bein' a dirty slob all the time. Besides! Less reason for you ta splash me with yer magic."

Hard to imagine that she'd already changed so much just from being with Hek.. Awww... All she needed to shape up and change her act was a series of good dickings!

You spend a short while more with them, showing them the new bag you made and demonstrating it by stashing your halberd fully inside, then retrieving it. Millia congratulates you and muses that you may be done with all of this sooner than expected.
>>
>>23511408
Literally everything, given /tg/ dice. That's why I said ambitious.

Still, there wouldn't be too much harm in adding something non intelligence-y to it. Armour it up a bit magically, etc?

That idea about putting a hammer space in the bosom of it was interesting too... More convenient than a bag, right?

You settle down on the floor beside Millia, "I couldn't have done it without your help," you lean in and kisses her on the cheek. She smiles and kisses you on the lips in exchange. The two of your hold hold the kiss, eyes closed.. at least until Danny gives Millia's leg a sharp tug, jostling her from the kiss.

"I'm all done with yer grubby feet. My turn!" Danny extends a bare foot towards Millia who sighs reluctantly, then takes up the brush. She looks at you apologetically then begins to lecture Danny on the importance of scrubbing away dead skin from the foot.

You sit and chat with the two of them for a little while longer, discussing possible enchanted items you could make for the attic, what things you might be able to remove from the dress first, and so on.

Eventually, Tom calls from downstairs, asking you to return to work. He's found some work suitable for you to practice with. There's an order of some relatively simple light stones that Tom is confident you'll be able to finish for him.

When you return downstairs you see that he's set up some more materials for you. A series of glass spheres to enchant, with a few books to supply you with the steps for setting up a proper magic circle of your own and another book to teach you the light spell that you'll be using. Nothing as difficult as the Expanded Interior enchantment, but if you're going to get any better at this, then you need to practice.

This project keeps you busy for the remainder of the evening. That's pretty boring, so how about we check on someone else for a bit?

How about... Mr. Brogart?

Way back home, things have kind been running fairly smoothly, more or less.

You are now Mr. Brogart, Dwarven entrepreneur and merchant. Since Roger, your young assistant left town and took that supposedly cursed dress with him. Luckily, he left you a replacement of sorts...

Nadia, as you later discovered was her name, has been an enthusiastic helper, even if she is completely useless as far as assistants go. Her energetic, bouncy demeanor has done some good for your business, but trusting her to do anything other than stand around and look pretty, and Gods is she a pretty one, is asking too much.

It's hard to tell, but you're pretty sure she's getting better. She remembers who she is and vaguely how she ended up at your shop, but she's been evasive when it comes to talking about her past and the things she did before she went and magically blasted off your beard (and every other, less important, hair on your face), the clothes swapped a cursed dress onto poor Roger.

If she wasn't such a pleasure to watch trounce around your shop in clothes that should have rightfully shredded off those two enormous hams she calls an ass, you'd have booted her out by now.. You sigh to yourself as you watch her topple an entire shelf while attempting to dust it, sending pieces of armor toppling to the ground.

"What'd I tell ya?! Gently. GENTLY! Just brush the dust off!" You bellow at her, trudging over to fix the shelf. She looks up at you like an scared child, "I'm soooo sorry, fuzzy bear!" You grunt at her, disapproving of the nickname. Your beard was starting to grow back in, but it was hardly proper for a Dwarf. "I can't help it! I'm just not used to all this hard work!" she whines at you.

What are you going to do with this empty headed broad?

You pinch the bridge of your nose, trying to contain your aggravation. "Put the shelf right and go get your punishment costume." She droops and pouts, "Do I have to?.. That cosutme is always too tight!" You nod sternly, "When you mess up, you need to be punished. Otherwise you'll never learn."

She halfheartedly sets the self straight and piles the goods back onto it before trudging to the back of the store to fetch her costume. "I bet you never made your last assistant do this.." She comes back carrying the whole outfit bundled up in her arms and begins to strip in front of you. "My last assistant didn't mess up as often as you do," you retort, trying your hardest not to make a big deal out of this

She puts on the bunny ears headband first, standing absolutely nude, hands on her hips, glaring at you indignantly, "You're the worst boss ever!" "I'm the only boss you've ever had, lass." She starts to pull on the corset, but you remind her to start with the stockings first. You'd feel bad for manipulating her so overtly if the show wasn't so magnificent. Paying to have the outfit tailored for her was worth the extra coin.

You help her with the bow-tie and the cuffs for her wrists before handing her a stack of sales notices. "You know the drill, Nadia. Go be my hoppy little sales-bunny and hand out these fliers." She leans down to hug you, giving you a face full of the most mountainous mammaries you'd ever had the honor of burying your face in. She giggles and pulls back quickly, "Your whiskers tickle!"

You sighs wistfully and then give her colossal backside a motivating slap, "Get on out there, like a good girl!"

You move to the front window and watch as she bounds down the street, eagerly handing out fistfuls of paper to anyone she passes. You reach into a pouch on your belt and fetch your pipe. You spend the next hour simply standing in the window, smoking your pipe, and muttering small praises to the Dwarven Gods of good fortune for dropping such a wonderful gift in your lap.

Outside, she was eagerly telling a local boy, that you recognized as one of Roger's friends, about the sale by shoving wads of fliers at him. The thing that caught your attention was that he was wearing that dress again. Ever since Roger left town a couple weeks ago, you'd periodically see him traipsing around town, all dolled up. He made a convincing girl, but everyone in town knew it was him. There weren't enough people in this town for them to not notice some new girl suddenly appearing.

Nadia appears to be out of fliers. She bounces up and down happily and skips back into the shop, "All done! Now I get to take off the costume, right?" You sigh regretfully, letting a plume of smoke slip off your lips, then nod, "Aye." She gives a happy little bounce on her heels, sending her whole body quivering and wobbling, "Yay!! This thing has been riding up my butt again!"

You head to the back storeroom and open the door, "Come along then, lass. I'll help you get undressed."

...And perhaps we'll check on those two a little bit later.. For now, though, it seems the few of you reading seemed interested in seeing Jultun getting smacked around by Hekaton.

Over at the King of Iron Fist Gym, Hekaton was starting his usual warm up. With Roger getting settled into her new job, he had to find something to do. They weren't the best sparring partners, but at least they gave him someone to practice with.

With Jultun beginning his training under some Giant Swordmaster, Hekaton quickly found himself with a new sparring partner. A partner which he didn't feel any reason to hold back against, like he did with Danny and the rest of the girls. If the kid wanted to travel the land facing danger and saving lives, then he'll need more than a few bruises.

Hekaton was halfway through his warm-up, doing a set of two-hundred pushups per pair of arms, when Arthur and Jultun arrived with his new swordmaster trainer right behind them. He was a true giant, so he had to step over the outside wall to even enter the gym. At a whopping 13 feet tall, he was an imposing sight, even moreso than Hekaton, who was immediately sizing him up as an opponent. He'd fought larger creatures before. He could probably take this guy, even if the sword on his back was taller than him.

Arthur, Jultun, and Master Turrol, as they keep calling him, begin discussing Jultun's training. Occasionally Hekaton notices them mentioning him, but he just keeps to his warm-up. There are dummies that need punching and muscles that need stretching.

Jultun is outfitted with a variety of weighted training gear and run through some basic forms for a short while before they finally called for Hekaton to run Jultun through his paces. Practicing sword forms was good and all, but practical experience is ideal.

You are Hekaton and you've waited long enough to fight something. That's not to say that your life is consumed by combat, but you can only go so long without a properly satisfying challenge.

Now, this Jultun child that you've been called upon to help train is no enemy to you. In fact, you don't really even know him all that well. He's some son of a friend of a friend's parents. You haven't gotten to know him, but Roger seems to like him well enough. That doesn't mean you won't take any pleasure from knocking him around.

You tighten the straps on your padded practice gloves, not that a thing layer of leather and cloth would reduce the force of your blows, but it's a courtesy. You're not trying to kill the child, merely make him into a better warrior by punching him many times.

Turrol and Arthur take a seat ringside and Arthur urges you to begin by saying, "Don't hold back," to neither one of you in particular.

Jultun tries to keep you at distance with his wood longsword, carefully strafing around you to try and find a gap in your stance. There were probably a few. You were far from perfect, but he'd never be able to exploit them.

You spread your six arms out wide and begin taking wide sweeping swings at him, in a sort of game to draw out his focus to one side. Jultun makes the immediate mistake of trying to parry your blows with his sword. It may have worked if he was a larger, stronger man wielding a larger, heavier weapon, but the gentle wooden rapping on your hardened knuckles didn't halt your swings.

With his guard drawn to one side, you lurch forward and bring a lower fist to meet with one of his kidneys, staggering him back a step. He stays standing, but grunts from the pain. Not many fights were won in a single punch anyways.

Turrol's weighted training armor helped to absorb the blow, but both of you were quickly aware of just how much it was slowing him down.

Jultun distances himself and takes his stance again..

You have numerous advantages over this poor kid, but his Father and his trainer don't want you to hold back. All the better, if this turns him into a better opponent. It will make lingering around this city that much more bearable.

You begin your barrage again forcing him to back pedal into a defensive stance, swaying out of the way of most blows while blocking with the flat of his blade. Every so often he'll try to strike at you, but you have more than enough hands to swat him away.

Little by little, Jultun begins to pull you into a sort of rhythm, blocking every few punches, dodging a few more, taking a hit, blocking some more. You find it somewhat admirable the way he's trying to read you while also moving to take blows in less painful areas by bracing himself with his back foot.

He's fighting far more cautiously, trying not to take another direct hit, which begins to bore you. It's not enough to simply rain fists down upon him, you want to spice this fight up. You throw one last solid punch, which he catches with his shoulder and bicep, then roll the momentum back around again, bringing all three of your left fists back in a column of punches that should have caught his right side.

(fucking field limits)

He slipped right past your strikes and swung his sword, meeting with your own shoulder. He finally hit you!

You chuckle deeply and begin to lunge at him again with swift heavy blows, "Good! Don't stop now!" you laugh at him. He's been drawing you out, trying to make your attacks more direct and easier to counter. You intend to give him what he wanted.

Your practice with Jultun becomes more spirited from that point. You no longer bother trying to just press down on him with endless strikes. Instead, you are putting your full force behind it, forcing Jultun to keep moving and to strike at you whenever possible.

Unfortunately for Jultun, he is a much weaker warrior than you. He's quickly getting winded and his form is getting more sloppy. He manages a few more hits on you, but they more like desperate taps. You finally end the match when you land a pair of fists against his stomach and chest, sending him gliding across the ring.

Jultun drops his sword and gasp for breath for a few moments. Turrol sits and watches him for several minutes, allowing him steady himself again before he begins to critique and advise Jultun's technique. His deep booming voice feels like a large drum pounding against your chest.

They excuse you for the time being, telling you that they'll call on you again soon enough to resume his training, after he's had more practice. You grunt, giving Jultun an approving nod. You figure you'll cool down with some practice on the dummies, then head back to the workshop.

At the very least, you now know that there's hope for the kid. He'll make a good sparring partner, as long as you're hanging around here.

You are Roger again, back at Tom's workshop.

You've spent the remainder of your day hard at work one half a dozen light spheres, as requested.

The actual light spell that you had to use is quite simple. It's barely a cantrip, by all rights, but the request called for light stones that could be activated or deactivated, requiring you to put in some additional effort and study. Tom left you with a pile of books to help you figure out exactly what you needed to do.

You spent most of your time learning how to properly construct the magic circle needed, but once you had that figured out, you were able to churn them out quickly enough. The store had already closed for the day by the time you'd finished, though.

You set each of the six light spheres in front of you and gave them each a gentle tap. One by one, they begin to emit a warm yellow light that slowly intensifies until it fills the room. Then you tapped then again and they quickly dim. You carefully wrap each one and pack them away in a small crate and leave them on a table near the storefront and sign off on the notice, all as instructed.

You gather up a few of the books you used today, intending to study them tonight before bed, then make your way to the kitchen to grab something to eat.

You are halfway through a sandwich when Abigail walks in. She removes her work apron and folds it neatly before placing it over the back of a nearby chair. You didn't even notice that she was still here, since everyone else had left over an hour ago. She picks through the pantry for a short while before taking a seat across from you at the table.

There's a lengthy awkward silence while she carefully prepares her food before she finally looks directly at you. "So, new girl," She says in a neutral intonation. You straighten up your posture and brush the crumbs from your face, "What's so special about you? Tom's never taken an apprentice before."

Another reason is probably that people like me and I had the right contacts.

But the main thing is that the Fae left me a crown and Tom found it interesting and is letting me work under him to learn more Enchantment so I can investigate this."

You do your best to look and shrug casually at her, "I'm not all that special.. Perhaps a little talented and hard working.. But I don't know, you'd have to ask the Fae." You punctuate that last part with a tip of your hat, showing Abigail the flower crown.

She looks incredulous, "The Fae, hmm?" You remove your hat and slide it across the table so she can get a closer look, "A genuine Fae Gift. It hasn't so much as shed a single petal since I got it." She examines it closely, scrutinizing every little detail, "And this is why Tom took you in?" she asks coolly.

You begin to explain the short version of the story, telling her that you fear the Fae may come for you one day to claim a favor they feel they are owed for the crown and that Tom took an interest in your plight. You're hoping to learn enough under him to both prepare, in case they do show up, and possibly unravel some clues from the crown. It doesn't seem like she's trying to be aggressive or mean, but you're not sure she knows any other way to interact with people.

She slides that hat back and you put it on once more, "It's an interesting store, at least.. Perhaps missing some juicy details, but that's okay." You're not sure what she means by that, but you let it slide. "As long as you aren't getting in the way, I don't have any problem with you. I'm just curious why some small town wild-talent is getting such special treatment. No offense, dear." You try to hide your confusion, "None taken, I suppose.."

Your conversation is interrupted by Hekaton entering through the back door. He strolls by casually, stopping to grab some dried meat from the pantry. "Heya, Hek. How was training?" you ask. "Went good," he grunts back at you, and with that, heads straight upstairs.

Abigail raises a single, quizzical eyebrow at you. You finish the rest of your sandwich and offer her a smile before fathering your things and following Hek upstairs. "A story for another time."

Once you make it back up to your attic, you find Hekaton standing by the door, absentmindedly eating the dried meat. When you look inside the room, you can see why he stopped. Millia has apparently gotten to the underwear portion of Danny's lessons, and the two of them are currently standing topless, while Millia helps Danny wrestle a bra around her excessive endowments.

You stand besides him and quietly watch for a short while. "You wreak right now, Hek," you tell him. He takes a deep sniff, but doesn't take his eyes off the show, "I know."

"See, now you just adjust the cups like so.. And.. See? Doesn't that feel better?" Millia asks Danny, giving her breasts a playful heft. Danny nods, staring down at herself, looking sort of impressed, "I guess it does.." Millia takes a step back and nods approvingly, "How'd you even go this long without knowing how to put a bra on?" Danny shrugs, making her chest bounce, "I've just been pulling it over my head like a shirt.."

They eventually notice the two of you standing there and offer various happy greetings. You give Millia a hug and scratch Danny behind the ears before letting her run over to greet Hekaton.

The rest of the night passes pretty peacefully. You fill out your journal, read a few books, gives Hekaton a quick wash with the cleansing spell, and spend some time fooling around with Millia. You would have made a whole night out of it if you didn't have more work tomorrow morning and your date with Taiva in the afternoon.. Poor Millia, you'll have to make it up to her at some point.

Good question. Was there something in particular we wanted to attempt making before we skip to the date?
>>
>>23532102
I thought we were going to ask about adding or removing spells from pre-existing magical items?
>>
>>23531999
>reread Homestuck
Is that even possible? Reading it even ONCE takes fucking FOREVER.
>>
>>23532102
I did like the idea of getting the Dress to absorb the Sack of Holding we made.

We were going to ask Tom about some things, but we needed a plausible story for it first.

>>23532164
I consider 1000 page books a good length for light fantasy novels. Homestuck takes approximately two good weekends, depending on how long the flash games take.
Maybe 3, now, it's been a while since I did a reread.
>>
>>23532202
>Sack of Holding
I don't like the idea of dressing holding our items hostage, or to have any say about them.
>>
>>23532220
The idea was to put the enlargement within the bosom so we could fit more stuff there.
It's not technically part of the dress, aye? Still might be a bad idea.

Shall we do Weapon enchantments, maybe? Combine a magical focus into our sword on a stick?
>>
>>23532220
you might not like it. but we do
>>
>>23532291
Indeed
>>
>>23532291
>>23532302
Do we even have the bust to justify a cleavagespace bra?

And really, this sounds like a good punishment for Some Pervert to inflict on us should we fail a dress roll. Bra of Holding and the tits to match.
>>
>>23532220
>attempt to enchant the dress into a bosom of holding
>the enchantment inverts in our mistake
>it now makes anything it holds appear bigger

Let's do it.
>>
>>23532359
The bust being small doesn't matter. That's kind of the point of the enchantment.

I say go for it.
>>
>>23532102
focus rings
>>
>>23532102
Im good with a skip, but only because I cant think of anything. If we had an enchanted item to try our hand at disenchanting, that would be nice, but we might want more in-workshop practice before we try our hand at that one.
>>
>>23532436
ring gate
>>
>bust of holding

I'm more preferential to a hat of holding, and it's far less stupid than fiddling with the dress.

Plus we can stuff bunnygirls in there and make a bit of coin doing tricks in the street.
>>
>>23532549
That sounds much better.
>>
>>23532220
>>23532248
>>23532359
There's a couple difficulties with that idea. Enchanting the dress in any way will require you to work on the dress while still wearing it, which is sort of difficult to do in the first place, plus it will look weird in the workshop. Also, there's the issue of piling another enchantment into the web of madness that already is the dress.
>>
>>23532649
The idea was to feed the bag to it. It absorbed armor and so on before, yeah? So it theoretically can incorporate the properties of any arbitrary item.

if it has to be clothing, we can get a normal bustier and enchant that first.
>>
>>23532202
At the moment Homestuck has over 600k words. That is quite much longer than Lord of the Rings which is at 468k words.
>>
>>23532676
That'd be minus the Simarrilion and the Hobbit, which I'm sure add up to more than 100k together.

This is getting Off topic though.
>>
>>23532676
Wheel of Time is over 3 Million words. Your point?

>>23532670
Or we could just do the hat, and not try playing with magic we don't understand.
>>
>>23532670
The original idea was that the dress would eat the bag of its own accord if it got mad at us. And then people decided that was the ideal solution.
>>
>>23532725
Yeah but you don't casually reread Wheel of time. It is a lengthy process and not something you reread just because you need to brush up on your shipping sills.
>>
>>23532934
My friend who lent it to me is currently on his third read through. Admittedly, the second one only made it to 8 or something, but he's at 11 now.

On the next morning, you are left to your own devices. The workshop is open as usual and soon Abigail, Casey, and Edmund have arrived and settled into working on their own projects. There's no shortage of work to be done at the Rossellini Enchanting Company. It's one of benefits and difficulties that come with being as popular as they are.

You go through what is becoming your usual routine, changing up your outfit, this time going with a simple, yet flattering aqua-colored sundress. You fetch some food and then go about setting up your work table. You feel like practicing Tom's special enchantment again.

You reach into your satchel and pull out the magic circle diagram and the spell instructions Tom drafted for you yesterday, then you set out the enchanting books.

The finer points of creating custom magic circles still eludes you, but you have enough resources available to guide you through the process of making some basic ones of your own. You're feeling particularly ambitious and decide that what you want to do is try and combine the two projects you've already completed and make an Expanded Interior Enchantment with an on-off function. Something you could activate at a moment's notice to retrieve an item.

This time you're going to use your hat, making sure to take the Fae Flower Crown and place it on your head while you work on the hat itself...

You spend most of the day just working out the magic circle, carefully constructing and detailing the workings on the enchantment and deciphering the parts that you'd used before and how they could be applied to a new circle.

By the time you think you've got it figured out, after pulling Tom aside to check your work, it's almost time to go meet up with Taiva. You hastily put together the enchantment, spiraling it around the steeple of your hat and back again around the brim to tie it off.

It appears that you got the on-off part of the enchantment to work, because the hat doesn't immediately begin to distort in shape. You flip it back into the right orientation and give it a test. The activation, in this case, is running you finger along the brim. You watch the inside of the hat distort, but the inside stays the same. You reach in and give it a test. To your dismay, it's only about an arm's length deep. It's not a huge space, but it's more storage space, you suppose. You swipe your finger along the brim again and it snaps back to normal depth.

You rearrange your hat and flower crown combination, clean your work space, and hurry up stairs to get ready for your date.

Danny and Hekaton are still asleep, having tired themselves out the previous night. You're just glad that your silence wards were actually working, otherwise none of you would have any privacy at all.

You make a mental note to create some sort of enchanted item for Hekaton and Danny that can supply them with the cleansing spell when you're not around. Should be simple enough..

You empty your satchel of any spare Enchanting stuff that you'd been collecting and load in your Halberd, just in case, and the mostly spent purse of anonymously donated coins.

You kiss Millia good bye and tell her you'll let her know all about it when you get back. She smiles knowingly and tells you to have a good time.

You hurry your way to Taiva's bookstore where you find her waiting outside for you. She smiles kindly at you when you come running up. "I'm so glad we finally got the chance to do this. Feels like we've been putting it off for weeks!" you tell her with a wide grin. It's been a few years since you were last on anything that could be considered a date. You're not sure what this is, but you'll take it.

Taiva adjusts her glasses and pulls the shoulder strap on her purse up a bit, "Well, where do you want to go first?"

THE PARK. Always a good start to a date, having a nice walking and talking portion with some good scenery, and then taking her to a nice restaurant.

No! Bad! Bad spell!
Danny needs an actual scrub-down.
By us!

Danny, being scrubbed, by all of his arms at once.

And Tavia, if shes down with scrubbing catgirls
>>
>>23534621
No, we need to do perverted things too.

Unless we can do a spell to like... swap senses with Hekaton and scrub her with the 6 arms ourself.

Though I'm sure we'd regret learning that spell.

Right now, I'm kind of torn between pausing it here and picking up a new thread later with the whole date, or just starting the scene and dragging it on a little bit. I won't be able to dedicate as much time to this tomorrow.
>>
>>23535111
Do it with a new thread.
>>
>>23535111
Don't leave a scene half-finished unless you want to make a cliffhanger.
