>Behind you, Einstein hovered. You could check his data at any time, you knew: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8

The cafeteria was almost empty, with Damien, Alex, and Jilly nowhere to be seen. The hamburgers you'd made for Anna and yourself were still warm, and Summer seemed to be waiting for a chance to snatch one. Sarvesh was in the corner, peeling ... fruit, it looked, with his mandibles, cutting off the peel with the sharp tips - which he also ate, it looked. Oranges for dinner, for him.
"This is really good." Anna said, a satisfied look in her eyes as juices from the burger ran down her chin. She almost seemed to be trying to make up for being so cold to you earlier.
While you were distracted, when you look back at your plate, you notice that one of your three were missing- and summer was eating it herself.
It was late at night, and as soon as dinner was over, you could do almost anything. Now that you think you know how to do technopathy without destroying things, you could go back up to the computer room...
>>
>>23627940
Let's go see if anyone is around the computer room and let them know we had a breakthrough earlier today.
>>
>>23627940
"Of course, something as greasy and unhealthy as a burger is legally obligated to taste amazing."

When we're done eating/chatting, might as well see if we can't do some technopathy this time instead of failing constantly.
>>
>>23627940
I think we're going to make more hamburgers for everyone. Summer stole our last one, so we must be hungry.
>>
>>23627940
"I'm glad you're enjoying it, Anna."
>>
"Of course. Something as greasy and unhealthhy as a burger is legally oblicated to taste amazing." You say. "I'm glad you're enjoying it, Anna."
She nodded.
"I think I'm ruined for rations, now." She said, taking a final bite of hers as you finish up the rest of yours, somewhat glad that you'd made plenty.
For a time later, while Anna and Summer chat, you finish up your meal and get to your feet.
"Are you going to go do some of your training?" Summer asked, scrambling to her feet. "Can I come with? I want to see what they have you doing."
>>

"Sure! It's a bit boring though, I just sit in a supercomputer array and think things. Then the circuits burn out."

"Sure. It's all flashing lights and I'm making everything explode, so you'll have to let me pat you if I get miserable." You say. "Hopefully, after I managed to get things to work today, I'll have more luck!
"Hopefully." Summer said.

"I think I'm going to bed early tonight." Anna said. "All this walking around is making me tired. Good night, you two." She said, and waved at you as you and Summer made your way toward the technopathy computer.

"This looks a lot like what they have for my manifestation." Summer said.
"That's because it's the same general concept." Keen said. "Allow the psion to see the direct effects of their powers close up, teach them to use it more easily."
He was the only one there, but he seemed to have recreated Mini-Elysium from scratch.
"So, Heather, are you ready to try again?" Keen asked. "The doc asked me to shut all this down after your failures, but Damien blew past and told me that you'd be here. He had some sort of fire in his eyes."

STOP ROLLING
>>
Not long later, under Keen's direction, you climb out of the chamber.
"Aha!" He said, holding the small computer. "It seems like it was a conceptual issue or something like it. It was just the way you were thinking of it, it looked. See if you can direct it to send me a message."
Not even in the chamber, you focus on the computer, and ask it to send a message to Keen - which it does, apparently, when his personacom pings.
He grinned, setting the computer down and looking at the data.
"Apparently it's mostly lighting up your language centers." He said. "I'm not a researcher or a brain scientist, but it looks like you're using mostly telepathy with a bit of telekinesis."

So does this mean the whole machine was a waste of time and effort?

Sorry about that.

I might just try mailing things to people, or chatting to Einstein for a bit.

Speaking of which, technopathy: "Einstein, play some music." as though we were talking at him.
>>
>>23628313
Not with that roll we aren't
>>
"Everything went better than expected!" You say, grinning. The computers around you were almost buzzing now, their minds determined to do their duty. They didn't have much personality, you felt, but you were rather certain you could... 'talk' to them, or even 'talk' to Einstein.
"So does this mean the whole machine was a waste of time and effort?"
"Oh, of course not." Keen said. "You'll still need practice, and if not, then it's still a supercomputer. Those are always useful."
Summer manifested a human body quickly, and clapped, as Dr. Manus came into the room.
"Heya, Doc. Apparently we had a breakthrough. Look at this data."
Manus read through the data on the computers for a bit, and then nodded.
"It all looks good." He said. "Heather, did you try something differently, or something?"
>>
>>23628328
"Yeah. I was thinking 'mechanics' but I needed to be thinking 'minds'."
>>
>>23628328
"Yep, I need to think of it more as telepathy than anything else."

Make all the computers display a thumbs up.
>>
>>23628328
"Can I test it against encrypted files? Do you think I can break through them?"
>>
>>23628328
"Yeah, I figured it out in the isolation chamber. Managed to talk to Damian's personacom even though he Predicted me failing."
>>
>>23628328
All I have to do is talk to the cute machines as though they are alive. Which is kinda what I do anyway, but now they talk back!
>>
>>23628328

>>
>>23628350
>break through them
You mean ask the computer nicely to give us the decryption key?
>>
"Yeah." You say. "I was thinking 'mechanics', but I needed to be thinking 'minds'."
You softly ask the computers nearby to display a thumbs up, and most of them did, Elysium and the technician's computer too high-strung to obey any orders from anything that wasn't their designated master.
"Can I test it against encrypted files? Do you think I could break through them?"
".. Sure, go ahead." The doctor said. "James?"
"On it." James said, and transferred a file to Elysium.

You climb into the chamber again, pull the goggles on, and focus on Elysium. Almost immediately you know where the file is... but when you try to understand it, to look inside it. Elysium directly stops you. If you don't have the key, it says, you don't need to.

If we know where it is, even if Elysium won't let us look inside it, can't we have it transfer the file to Einstein, who will almost certainly let us decrypt it without any hassle?
>>
You focus, trying to peer past Elysium into the file, but it 'steps' into your way again, its' presence directly blocking you.
You spend a little time asking it to move, promising to give it new parts, but it refuses. Insulted, even by the idea that it would prefer components over obeying it's directives... and finally, frustrated, you try to force your way through.
The fans on the computer all start up, and your mind slams into a wall made of pure RAM.

"Elysium won't let me look at it." You say, and pout.
"Interesting. The computer thinks you're an unauthorized user. Give me a second." Keen said.
A moment later, reluctantly, Elysium 'stepped' aside, allowing you access to the file. You get a minor headache, your mind confused as to how to decrypt the file without Elysium to help, and you can't quite understand it. It feels almost like trying to solve one of the harder math problems after a class that you slept in - you don't even know where to even start. It was all just dizzying information, both to you *and* to Elysium, and you can't figure out what the file is.

"It's all numbers!" You say. "I'm not good at numbers, and Elysium won't help me."
"Just... try to calm down." Summer said. "It's like in school. You can let your subconscious do it, if you keep from thinking about it too directly."
"... Wait, is *that* how you had that good of transcripts?" Manus asked.
"I was able to sleep through classes." Summer responded, gloatingly.
"Well, good thing to know that the entire class can just subconsciously know everything I try to teach." Manus said, grumbling.

You close your eyes, and think toward the file, trying to subconsciously figure it out...
And a key appears in your mind.
Focusing on the key, you gently slide it into the lock of the encrypted file. Your headache gets worse, but elysium starts running, the drives whining and chips pulsing with power as it decrypts the file.
The picture was a trid of an adorable kitten, and borrowing Elysium's graphics software, you watch it.

"D'aww." Summer said.

"... My head hurts." You say, finally, climbing out of the chamber.
"I think I heard something about Jilly having the same problem, eventually." Manus said. "I'll talk to her counselor about that, and about Summer's counselor about the way the machine works for her."
"It works fine." Summer said.
"I assume so, but I'll talk to him to make sure." He said, and turned to you. The two of you made your way out of the room, and toward the cafeteria.
"What's your Extranet address, Summer?" You ask.
"It's, um, Spring Showers, at Khaluea." She said. "Khaluea is my homeworld."
"Shall we get ice cream?" You ask. "And then find something to do? I wonder if I could telekinesis water. That would be cool."
"It would, wouldn't it? Just make it all blobby like water gets in zeroG."

"It's a really large moon orbiting a violet gas giant." Summer said. "It's made of really tall, pretty towers, all interconnected and those make up the streets. It's pretty. And then our house was also really big, but that's because daddy's rather rich." She said. "The moon doesn't actually have seasons, though."
You nod - all you knew of Heaven's Jewel was that it had a dry season and a wet season, and no more.

>>
"But Winter did, didn't she?" You ask, and pull Summer into a hug.
"We were twins." She said. "That's how we saw it."
"How did they, uh, end up adopting you?"
"I have a little explanation of the process on my birth certificate." She said. "Dad paid for me, I was cloned from a tiger from four hundred years ago, and then given transgenes when I was still in the artificial womb to make me bigger and fluffier, and then uplifted when I was a cub. Apparently I was ... adopted... because my mom always wanted a pet when she was growing up, and the two of them decided that Winter would want a sister, as well. So they decided on doing both at once."
>>
>>23629111
The only thing I can think to say is about how they don't know Winter is dead, and I don't think we should talk about that now.

So just hug her. And eat/feed her ice cream.
>>

"How about option three?" She asked. "Keep eating ice cream and then just hug for a bit."

Some time later, you were pinned to the floor of the cafeteria.

Summer was asleep, her six hundred pound frame keeping your legs pinned down entirely. You were full up on ice cream, but the cafeteria was too cold and hard for you to go to sleep there easily. The time, you estimate, is almost midnight, and talking to Einstein confirms that.

You've been awake for less than six seconds and you're already petting the fluffy belly, snuggling up next to Summer. You're there for only a few minutes before you mentally ask Einstein what your email is. When he sends you the garbled data, you close your eyes and try to decrypt it.

You're screaming before you hit the ground, your back arching, your mind pounding with unimaginable, impossible pain, limbs seizuring out of control, your heart pounding it's way out of your ribcage, trying to tear it out.

Someone's talking to you.
The noise causes you pain.
You have to destroy the noise. You have to remove it. Make it... go away.
Your hand lashes out, claws tearing into her face-
"Heather!" Summer suddenly says, her voice full of worry.

You take a deep breath... and open your eyes again. Your fingernails had fur underneath them, and Summer looked to be missing a bit, a small amount of blood under her cheek.
"Heather, are you okay?" She asked. "Please, talk to me."

"Oh god, oh god, I'm so sorry." You say, your head pounding. "I- I just tried something -"
Those thoughts, near the end... those weren't your thoughts. It wasn't your pain you felt... but you're not sure who's.
"I... I think I'm okay." you say, quietly, and the hug her tightly, trying to stop your limbs trembling. "I'm so sorry, Summer."
"It's okay." Summer said. "It's okay."
While you hugged her, she started purring, the sound - and feel- comforting, helping you stop trembling uncontrollably. You took a deep breath as Summer held you close.
"I'll be okay, you'll be okay, we'll all be okay." Summer said, and licked her paw, wiping at her cheek. She did so a few times, until the blood had all been wiped away.

You notice she didn't ask what you'd tried.

"Hey, I was wondering if either of you wanted to grab breakfast." Alex said, and you wanted to kill him.
"Just a second!" Summer called, and - kill Alex - hugged you close.

"... Okay. Okay." She said. "I'll go. Kill Alex, Heather. Be careful, Heather." Summer said, and got to her paws, running out of the room.

And then you were alone. Alone in your thoughts.

"Message recieved - Kill Alex." Einstein said, bringing a knife down on Alex's neck, tearing out his heart with a claw of steel.
"From CorvusMonedula." It continued.

You kill Alex - open the message - and the words in it are simple.
"The message follows: Your name." Einstein said. "Is Heather Leery. You are Arcturus. Alex... Alex is Prometheus."

Something in your mind... snaps. A tendril, from far away, something that was touching your mind - snapped, and that alien part of you was gone.
Reality crystallized, and you took a deep breath.
You were you again.

"Warning." Einstein said. "Quantum entanglement has been lost. Access to the Extranet has been lost. Warning. The station's Quantum Entanglement has been lost. Access to the Extranet has been lost. Warning. The station's Quantum entanglement has been lost. Access to the intranet has been lost. Message received from CorvusMonedula."

More people have recieved that message then you. People who can't fight it it. Warn everyone you can that they are NOT to open that message. Use telepathy and technomancy to contact everyone and get a view on Alex.

So, looks like what happened to us/at Burer's Glyph is done through the net, probably with some kind of advanced technopathy. Good thing we decided to focus on it ourselves.
>>
"Einstein, play it." You say, and you hear Damien's voice.

"Oh gods. Okay, this is simple." He said. "We are all going to *die*. You're the only one that can help us. I don't know how. Jilly is in the cafeteria, Sarvesh is in his room, Anna is in hydroponics. I'm ... I'm in my room. Summer... she's in the hall, with Max, and those... those THINGS. I... don't know where Alex is."

>>

Summer/Max first, they're closest and would be the first to potentially be in danger (from each other).

Don't bother sending messages through normal means, it will most likely be blocked. Use technopathy or telepathy to talk to them directly. Be prepared to help them fight off the darkness.
>>
>>23630073
If we can't get onto everyone, we could talk to Jilly, who can tell to the others.
>>
You scramble to your feet, and then reach out with your mind...
And those tendrils were in the way, entangling everything like brambles. You couldn't reach out.
You slam the door open and run up to Summer and Max, just outside of your door. You pant... and they look at you rather strangely.
"Heather, are you feeling okay?" Max asked.
Alex was nowhere to be seen.
"Heather. Please. Talk to us." Summer said.
There were no.. 'things' nearby, either, as you look this way and that.

And then a Thing suddenly appeared. A massive creature, with four powerfully taloned legs, and two... scythes for arms. Six beady eyes stared out at you...

And it was psionic, you knew.
It snarled, and dove for you, it's jaw splaying open as two secondary jaws snapped out at you.
Max responded instinctively, and blasted it back with TK, sending it slamming into the steel hull of the hallway.
"What the hell..." Max said... and then his tone changed. "Get to the hub. There's a evacuation shuttle there."
The creature started to scramble to it's feet, and blasted Max against the wall with it's own TK.

They are all over the station. . Alex is their target because they are psionic and he destroys that.

Damien said we are going to die unless I do something. And I don't know how. And neither does he.

But... I can feel them. And I know they can be severed.

Try to sever the tendrils.
>>
>>23630110
"Damien sent me a message, the whole station seems to be under attack and if we don't do something everyone will die. I know where everybody except Alex is, do you know where he went?"
>>
>>23630110
Okay, so, let's think about this logically. Max is experienced, and he and Summer are together, so they should be safe to leave alone as they evacuate to the shuttle. Anna is really proficient at psionics that are very combat-useful, and has probably seen fighting before, but she's in hydroponics and might not even know there's danger until it's too late. Sarvesh is huge and powerful and really used to combat in addition to his psionics, so probably in the least danger. Jilly is pretty much an unknown in terms of combat ability. Damien seems pretty weak - his specialty is pretty useless in combat beyond dodging/running away. Alex is helpless but also unknown location.

I'd say Damien -> Anna/Jilly depending on who's closest -> Sarvesh, while keeping an eye out for Alex.
>>
You focus... and slam your own TK into the creature, blasting it back.
"We've got to get the others." You say, and lean into the workshop. "Damien said they're all going to die unless we help."
You pull an entire crate of metal plating out, and with a powerful push, you slam the crate into the creature's head.
It twitches, once, and dies.

And then two more creatures appeared, identical to the first. Their heads tilted... and then the crate was tugged out of the corpse, and shot toward you.

Max stepped in the way, stopping it with telekinesis of his own.
"Go!" He roared... and then you heard the sound of gunfire, from hydroponics.
"... Anna." Summer said.

The corpse demanifested, and that's when you realized.

>>
Could someone have taken over Summer's subconciousness? Tell her to occupy her powers by manifesting harmless things or try to demanifest those creatures.

Don't go anywhere alone! Single psions can be surprised and overwhelmed quite easily, in a group you are basically invincible. Hopefully they don't have an interest in the researchers. They wouldn't stand a chance against those invaders.
>>
You bolt, toward Anna, trying to reach out with your mind to break the tendrils, to break the links controlling them. But they were strong, too strong.
Summer loped after you, the Knight of Burgandymoor there to help Alex.
"They're all the same creature!" You call. "Can you demanifest the copies?"
"I can't!" Summer said. "It doesn't work like that!"

You run past the cafeteria - just to see Jilly torn in half by a pair of scythes. Keen's Jilly writhes in pain, unable to scream, as the scythed, fourlegged creature tilted it's head, looking at you, before stomping his talon down on her skull.
Summer vomited, and you continued running.

"I can't... " The sobbing Summer said. "I can't climb ladders."

Actually, this, tell her to summon her knight for help and go with Anna.

"Summer, I'm with you." You say, and kneel next to her. "I need your help. Summon your knight, and let's save Sarvesh."
She sobbed, and you pulled her into a hug.
"I... I can't."
"Summer." You say. "Think. What would the Knight of Burgandymoor do?"
She nodded, sniffling... and focused...

And a shadow Thing appeared, it's eyes gleaming malevolently.
"I killed Jilly." It gloated at Summer, her own manifestation something from her own nightmares. She collapsed, covering her head. "You couldn't save Winter from me, you couldn't save Jilly... Now... I'm going to aim for Heather. You can't. You can't, Summer. You can't save anything."
Summer sobbed, and demanifested the shadow Thing.
"I can't." She sobbed again.
"Sweetie, we need to move." You say.

"They are just manifestations. We have to find the one who is creating them. Do you have any ideas how summer?"

I just want you to know I like that you are introducing mortality of important characters into the game. I don't like how we didn't seem to have any way to prevent her death. Characters being mortal makes everything feel more realistic, achievements more important and everything feel more worthwhile. Characters dying just like that, without any player input makes it feel less like there is actual mortality and more like death is tied purely to the DM's whims.

You slap summer, and she yelped.
"Get it together. Go with Anna, *now*. Move it."
She got to her feet, and followed after Anna's hissing bodysuit. You went the other direction, toward the constant roaring and buzzing.
When you get there, you see that Sarvesh had his carapace scored badly by scythes, and he tore the arms off of a third creature, kicking it's chest in with a foot.

Four more stood there, scythes at the ready, waiting for a time when Sarvesh was weak.

"Go, Heather." Sarvesh said. "There are escape shuttles in the hub. I can hold them off."
Another one of the Things pounced, scoring across his head and slashing off one of his lower arms, and Sarvesh roared, headbutting the creature and stomping on it's fallen form.

You try to lift the shell on the ground...
And you got dizzy, your mind trying to dim, but you lifted it... and slammed it into the creature. The shell exploded, beads slamming into it's head. It collapsed, dropping the shotgun.
Two more creatures, both with scythes, walked up behind you, and you suddenly lost the ability to see. You were exhausted, so exhausted, and no matter what you thought of trying, you didn't have enought *strength* left.
"Sarvesh, Go." You say. "You and the others get in that ship and leave."

"One moment." Sarvesh said, simply.
He didn't say it to you.
He said it to the creatures.

Then, with his one remaining hand... he touched you.

And you saw the past.
You saw a small female human, giggling at you, shyly asking you hundreds, thousands of questions.
She was beautiful, her hair sheening in your favorite shade of ultraviolet.
You saw her working on a drone, as you did your best to help, your lower arms clumsy compared to her dextrous movements.
For a sliver of a moment, you loved her.

And then you were floating in Zero-G, as you heard the loudest bellow of all, from below.
"Heather?" You heard Anna's voice.
"Heather?!" Summer responded. "You're okay!"
"Come on, Heather." Anna said, and you felt a human hand grab yours.

"Take care of her." Anna said.

"Heather... Alex and Damien... they didn't make it. Damien left a note on his body. He said... he'd rigged the fusion plant to explode." Summer said, tugging you somewhere in Zero-G, and next you knew, you were strapped into a chair.

You reach out to Sarvesh, far below, your mind weaving through the brambles and tendrils of the Void Queen's mind... and you gently touch him.
<I'm not going to forgive you for this, Sarvesh.> You say.
<I know.> He said, pleasantly. <I love you.>
<Sarvesh, please, don't do this. Come with us!>
<I can't. I have too much mass.> He said, and for a moment, you hated him more than anything for sounding so *happy*. <Tell my tribe I'm sorry.>

Honestly, why do they think moving into the space-shuttle will help us against the monsters that pop out of the air? If they creator of these things is even somewhat intelligent they will keep an eye on our movement and what we say, in which case it is most likely hidden on the shuttle. Another possibility is that they are doing this from far away. We know our limits are mostly psychological. The attacker being on another ship or planet would explain how it happened so suddenly without an unauthorized ship having docked here. The third possibility I see is that someone has hijacked Summer's powers.
All of these options would mean that leaving the station alone means absolutely nothing to the void queen and just puts us in an even worse situation than before.

"The station's gone." Anna said, from your right.
From your left, in the bed, Summer responded.
"Yes. Yes it is." Summer responded, and sobbed.
Your mind refused to do anything from that point on.

Some time later, you open your eyes and you can see. Summer was asleep, stuffed into the bed, sobbing, and Anna was perfectly silent.

Best case scenario void queen is a complete idiot and got itself killed one the station. Second best scenario, which I think is most likely because of meta reasons, the void queen will have left the station before the explosion and cannot attack us until she finds us again or doesn't care about us anymore because she just wanted to kill Alex. In the first case we just bought us a little time, depending on how good at scrying she is this could mean as little as she takes to follow us. If she just wanted to kill Alex, which we have every reason to believe, this could have all ended the moment he died. No need to kill all survivors and run away.
Seriously though we will only survive if void queen acts like a cliché villain and ignores us / only sends minor threats at us until we are strong enough to fight her. Suddenly killing most of the cast without a serious chance to fight back is not fun.

You sob, and then curl up in your chair, closing your eyes.

I don't hate you, Damien's note said.
I know I should, at least a little, for not helping me. But I don't.
But I don't. The Void Queen is here, and she wants to... kill all of us. Destroy every psionic creature in that galaxy except for her. I've seen her. In all her beauty and terror... and I knew she invested quite a lot of her power to reach here, to break our quantum computers, our bubble drives, to manifest her creatures here...
I only had one choice, if I wanted to delay her. I've rigged the fusion plant to explode. I've never been good with tech, but it was the only choice I had. She's... weakened, now. I'm buying you time.
I foresaw her killing you as soon as you left the station. I'm going to fucking change fate if I do this.

Good luck, Heather.

You look down at the writing on the back of the painting, reading Damien's note again, the green stuff in your mouth.
It's been at least three days since you, Summer, and Anna escaped the station. The Bubble drive is mostly dead, and you're traveling only twice the speed of light. Even the computer's navigational quantum entanglement is gone, and Anna has to constantly stop and check things to make certain you didn't crash into a stellar object.
Summer's been almost as nonfunctional as you are... but Anna'd seemed strong. Until she broke down crying, a few days ago, but none of you talk about that.
"There's... something on the scanners." Anna said.

The Ishelda, a colony ship from the year 2106.
Anna pulled the ship out of bubble drive, and the sudden jerk woke Summer up, as she sat up from the bed.
"What? What is it?" She asked.
Anna flipped open the shutters... and you saw an enormous ship, larger than any station you'd seen in your life, all the lights off. It was dead, and ancient beyond belief.

Unless he was still processing all the changes that were in place since we interfered with Alex's fate. The Void Queen probably would have taken months to find us without our contact information found on Alex's old computer.

Is there anyone on board? I thought all the slower then light colony ships had arrived by now.

Damien said something about this, a while ago. He said he saw me travelling the stars on a huge ship, and that I would pick who was with me.
Then break into tears again.

Yay, random (most likely fateful) encounter! Just after we have just been told "You are the only one who can save the world from the BBEG." and becoming one of the few survivors of our previous group. This is turning into a generic modern fantasy plot surprisingly quickly.

"We need supplies, parts, and so on. We should investigate, maybe loot it." You say. "It's floating around dead, then? It sure doesn't seem powered at the moment."
"Is there anyone on board? I thought all the slower than light colony ships had arrived by now."
"They should have." Anna said, looking out at it.
"Damien ... Damien said something about this, a while ago. He said he saw me on a huge ship, and that I would have someone with me..."
You sniffle, and curl up.. and then Summer coasts toward you, laying her head on your lap. You start petting her.
"We should probably investigate." You say, eventually. "Maybe we can get power going?"
"Maybe." Anna said, and took a deep breath, putting on her business face.
"Maybe there's still something entangled in there." She said, and zoomed in the camera again, looking across the sides of the ship for an airlock, or something similar.
You close your eyes, and reach out for it... but it's too far for you to sense anything.
"I found an airlock." Anna said, finally. "I'm going to bubble us closer."
She pulled the switch, and you saw nothing but green light as you shot forward, screeching through space, and not long later, you shuddered in your seat as she pulled out of it. Now you were much closer, and you could see the writing on the side of the ancient, colossal ship, the name mostly blasted away by various micrometeorites.
The Ishelda.

Summer craned up to look at it, and stretched. "... How many of us should go in there? All of us?"

Ok, saving all psions. Which are creatures that are randomly generated from baseline civilisations. Even if she doesn't decide that killing al intelligent creatures is the only way to ensure there are no more psions, she is obviously the BBEG how has made her entrance by showing how evil she is. This has turned a lighthearted slice of life in space with psionics into "You barely escaped from the evil clutches of the void queen. She has killed all your friends save two emotionally unstable girls (whom you have taken with you and will become your love interests later on). Do you want to swear revenge? y/y

I really doubt we had every psion on the station. They're rare, but in a population measured in trillions (Humans, Centaurs, Nagas, uplifts, non-UPA aliens) there's got to be more than a handful of psions.
The VQ is probably trying to kill off all of them, but just the fact that she exists proves that all psions in the galaxy were NOT on that station.

You, Summer, and Anna all pull on your suits, Anna making sure you knew how to don yours properly... and her hands lingered in some places a bit too much.

"Are we ready?" Anna asked, and Summer nodded.
Then she opened the airlock, and all of you soared out of the Wyvern, toward the Ishelda. The door behind you hissed shut
When you got close to the entrance of the Ishelda, you and Summer making sure Anna didn't drift too far away, you heard the door pipe up.

Exabutt, you're an ass.

Okay, we've got stuff to do now.

First, we do not touch that message, we take Einstein and stick him in a Faraday Cage and cut off all connections of his to the outside, we get that message analyzed by a computer that is only connected to Einstein and nothing else.

Then we tell everyone what we saw in as much detail as we can, especially about the Ishelda, and have plans set up for quick evacuation.

Also, we give Sarvesh a motherfucking hug and tell him we love him too.

hmmm shall we brainstorm a path to save everyone?

Though I think the obvious is to delete that file. No activating it. That won't stop the Void Queen of course but we won't lose Einstein or spend time convulsing in agony.

Step two would be to start to group up early. Anna and Jilly are close together so message them to meet up. Remind Anna of her name. Telepathy didn't work, but I wonder if using Technopathy to connect via the intercom would be better. We could warn everyone that way.

Step Three would be no splitting up.

Step Four is using technopathy to remotely trigger those fusion reactors to save Damien the trouble.

Step Five: Get on the shuttle and vamoose to Ishelda
>>
>>23632560
They still died, even if they aren't dead.
>>
>>23632563
>Telepathy didn't work
Because of the tentacles. If we call out as soon as we wake up and we haven't opened the message, the tentacles might not be there yet.

Also I vote for just repeating the loop over and over getting a little bit more experienced each time until we can destroy galaxies with our mind, then waking up, teleporting the Void Queen in front of us, and slapping her.
>>
>>23632640
It might have been a prophetic dream. We can't take that chance.
>>
>>23632563
Jesus, how do we even do this, send out a message to fucking everyone, tell Anna to grab Alex and everyone fucking gets to the shuttle. We don't know how much time passed when we were in kill everything mode.
>>
>>23632683
Alex is actually on his way to us right now.
>>
>>23632719
except we found him by Anna didnt we?
>>
>>23632719
We need Sarvesh to fetch Jilly and Keen, Damien and Max to fucking hightail it to the shuttle, and we can fetch Anna while Summer gets Alex to the shuttle.
>>
>>23632750
We should probably warn the rest of the staff rather than just running off and leaving them to be slaughtered, even if we don't know most of their names.
>>
>>23632749
He came to ask us to breakfast. Then we sent him away because of all the "kill Alex" in our head. Then we found him by Anna later.
>>
>>23632750
I think we should all meet at a midway point and then head to the shuttles, or hell, get set of the emergency alarm and have everyone head to the shuttles, also have Summer manifest some weapons.
>>
>>23632750
I think groups of two or three are needed to survive this. Soloing it just didn't work. And there is the fact that several of our friends aren't combatants. Jilly, Damien and even Alex. Though Alex could possible disrupt the manifestations just by touching them. Which makes sense since the manifestations didn't even touch Alex. It was Anna.

So when Alex reaches us we take him, Max and Summer over to Damien. We contact Sarvesh and Anna and have them group up with Jilly and Keen. Then we all meet at a halfway point to the shuttle.
>>
>>23632856
And get Summer to make Kalashnikovs.
>>
What about the other researchers and the lunch ladies? There might not be enough room on the shuttle, but if there is, we should give them a chance to escape.
