Sorry, I meant functionally the same in that enchanted weapons of each class are simply extra dice with perhaps alternative attack methods. For example a sword made of warped space might bypass a kinetic defense ward, but I doubt it would do more than add a bonus die to the attack roll. I'm surprised that we wouldnt be strengthening ranged weapons for absurd recoil instead of eliminating the kickback, so no one without superhuman strength could use them against us.

My theory remains that something is trapped under/in Scholomance, some very ancient and powerful entity, and the whole point of Scholomance is to keep it placated with a constant diet of paranoia, pain, misery and death.

The job of the archmages is to ensure that Scholomance stays as it is, and they keep feeding it new students.

For someone who actually seems decent, like Carl, that's probably torture. For most of the archmages, they probably don't see much difference between students and cattle, and consider all those lives destroyed a small price to pay for their power.

Scholomance has to be the way it is to make an interesting story for Femcock.
