Attention anyone who's interested! It's time for the Civilization Quest once again! Tuesday's thread was non-existent, due to a lack of participants, so the quest is officially on probation as of now. I'm starting to suspect it may have run its course anyway. I'll be the first to admit it's no-where near as busy as it used to be. That said, let's hope for a good thread today!

You are the Long Fangs tribe, a primitive tribe of peoples on the cusp of the Bronze Age. With the assistance of your heroes and the guidance of your gods, it falls to you to guide your people through the ages, steering them through good times and bad, towards their eventual, far-off destiny. Do you think you are up to the task? Can you (to steal a phrase) build a civilization to stand the test of time?

Previous thread is here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/23807735/

The full archives are here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Red%20White%20and%20Britfag

The IRC channel is #Longfangs

Who's ready to get this show on the road?
>>
You shall have my less than stellar copper axe!
>>
A wild participant appears.

I'm here.
>>
>>23929122
Here we go, CivQuest Part 69 take two.
>>
C'mon yeah. Lets do our best to make sure Trym isn't going to die again and then get shit done in our village.

At some point today we should probably send a couple envoys down to the RB and ES to see if they are feeling a bit better after that whole sunset war debacle.

Plus all the other stuff we planned to do. Oh, wait, we'll send the envoys after we have our damned kingsmoot. Looks better that way.
>>
>>23929299
Sounds reasonable. Although it'll have to show if we actually get back to the village in this thread.
>>
>>23929351
I do hope so. Trym is hurt obviously, but hopefully the magical fox-folk can do something in the way of making him not die after, you know, freeing them from a repressive leader and all of that. Maybe even give him some sort of gift, eh?
>>
Don't panic, I'm deer

Onwards to slay more gods!
>>
I am here and ready to go!
>>
LETS ROCK!
>>
no idea what this is, specator with intent of joining in the future

>Previously on Civilization Quest
>Fighting his way through the blinding pain, Trym lifts his spear, knowing full well what is coming now. Ilfa howls, her tails fanning behind her as a seemingly endless rain of burning bolts lashes towards Trym like a hailstorm. Having only moments to react, Trym hurls himself to the ground. Though a few of the bolts of blue fire do indeed find their mark, he escapes the worst of the storm. As it passes, Trym looks up, just in time to see Ilfa diving bodily for him! Acting on pure instinct, Trym lifts his spear between himself and Ilfa..! Changing her direction mid-flight proves too much for her and with a choking gasp of shock, Ilfa falls onto the beaten-copper point of the spear, being impaled clean through her breastbone. Her hands try to move, to push herself up as she paws feebly at the ash-wood staff of the spear, but slowly, strength leaves her limbs and she looks down at Trym, her face a mask of pain, fear and regret, as she dies.

Newcomers always welcome. Right now we're in a hero-questing situation. Soon we will return to civ building.
>>
>>23929618
Could we conceivably bring the body back with us? Having the corpse of a spirit to study would be a huge boon.
>>
>>23929631
Thank you,

I will just be reading with the hero qeust, seeing i have no clue whats happening. Due homework i don't have the time to actively read the pastebin atm
>>
>>23929648
"Hey just killed the shit out of your former leader and Yotaha's sister aaaaaand we're gonna take the body back and do weird stuff with it."

Sure.
>>
>>23929672
Sounds like a plan to me, honestly if they don't want it we should. Also, threaten whomever disagrees. We just killed their best warrior, so I don't think they are that set on messing with us at this point.
>>
>>23929648
I second this if at all possible.
>>
>>23929687
I mean, we COULD claim it as a trophy. That ought to work.
I readily agree with Ref? What have I become?
>>
>>23929687
I'd agree until I remembered that Trym is in no condition to threaten anybody after that battle and derrik cant take on a village of fox people.

Besides that, we literally just met these people, why would we want to make them angry at us?

this is a fox right?
why not wear it as a scarf
>>
Also if our research doesn't yield any results, we will at least be left with a nice rug for Trym's hut, or another nice fur to trade to the spray folk.
>>
>>23929753
I have no issues with a trophy of some sort, but I don't think taking her body to feed the children god flesh is a good way to make spirit friends. I mean, Trym can beat them, our heroes can beat them I'm sure, but our villages suffering at their hands because you want to dick around a dead body?

Besides, how do you even justify wanting to take the body other than as a trophy? Are you intending to skin her and hang it in Tryms house because she looks pretty human as best as I can tell.
>>
>>23929799
Dude, we're feeding this to the children. Too good of an opportunity to pass up. God's flesh will be excellent.

>>23929800
Wait, idea! How do you think the Sprayfolk would react to an actual god's pelt?
>>
>>23929815
Ritual cannibalism of a defeated foe is part of several celtic cultures. Developing it wouldn't be so bad for us, it just so happens that she is a god.

Also, we need something to give to the Earthsplitters as a boon of friendship. What about a god's corpse?
>>
>>23929848
Tails then. We take the tails unless Yotaha has issues with that. I want friends and desecrating bodies without their consent might go against that a bit, but a trophy of tails would be lovely.
>>
>>23929888
Lets see if they mind us taking the whole body first. I want it in our tribe for experimentation.
>>
>>23929904
If you can come up with a non-creepy way of explaining why we want to body, then I might even agree to that. Not that my vote really matters if everybody else wants to go that route but still.

"Hey, lemme get that body pls. Weird stuff. I want to do it."

And if they agree, poor Derrik is going to have to haul that thing out while helping Trym. Nobody ever stops to think of the logistics.
>>
>>23929605
Hope you stick around! These threads can be a bit slow, so sorry in advance
>>23929618
Yotaha hurries over, to where Trym lies in the dirt, letting his spear and the impaled corpse fall to one side as he gasps for breath, his wounds catching up to him. Yotaha gestures for two followers to take Trym back inside the village, while she kneels at her sister's side. She gently closes Ilfa's eyes, before kissing her fingers and touching them to Ilfa's forehead, a blue flame blossoming there and consuming the corpse, burning with such intensity that soon, not even bones remain, the flames dying out, alongside those that Ilfa ignited during the battle.

Yotaha stands and walks back inside the village with Derrik and her followers, Ilfa's minions having mysteriously vanished into the forest, after the death of their leader.

Derrik and a pair of fox-folk care for Trym, doing their best to heal his injuries that night and the following day, while the rest of the fox-folk celebrate Ilfa's defeat, a large part of the celebrations seeming to be re-telling the story so often and exaggerating or changing the details so much, that by the morning of the next day, the tale bares almost no resemblance to fact whatsoever!

In spite of Trym's injuries, Derrik heavily advises that they leave as soon as possible, stating that he doesn't know the effects of long-term stays in the Deep Forest and that Yotaha delivered something of an ominous warning to him...
>cont.
>>
To sum the discussion up until this point up:
>Heads or Tails

>>23929799
I was just reminded that we are dealing with fox-people that are similar in physique to humans but with foxlike features and tails. So it would probably look a bit weird like that.
But if we can't get anything useful out of her, making her a symbol or trophy would still work nicely and remind everybody of Trym's badassery.

>>23929937
Well... you got a point there. I doubt we can tell the remaining fox folk we want that corpse to try and stick different weapons in it or use magic on it to see what works best.
>>
>>23929942
Before we leave let us claim our prize from Yotaha, she promised us reward. Also, ask her if she would send some of her Fox Folk to help escort us through the path to the deep woods.
>>
>>23929942

Yeah i am still here, thanks for the ??courtesy?
Anyway i just took a trip and looking/giving suggestions
>>
>>23929972

>>
>>23929984
Second
>>
>>23929993
Yup. We'll snort it for godly power ups.
>>
>>23929993
If there is any left... Well we could perhaps use that in magic rituals or something, but seeing how her sister dealt with the body, I doubt she will be happy about that.

>>23929984
And take one of them for !SCIENCE!
>>
>>23929984
Dont wast the foxfolk on that!

Ask some of them to come back to the village with us and teach us their magic, Derrik can guide us through the forest fine.
>>
>>23930049
If they're willing to do so then I'm good for that. I doubt they will come to teach us though.

We could offer the Earthsplitters magic in exchange for their friendship again as well.
>>
>>23930095
If we get magic then we shouldn't trade it, we need to store it and keep it and become the only place in the world with the mystical fix to all of your problems.
>>
>>23930095
Meanwhile in the woods somewhere...

"Hey, Gerrin, that's a fancy fucking bone spear you have there. Can I see it for a moment?"

"Why?"

"I just want to feel its power, just for a moment, I've known you for years now and if you dont want me to I'll gladly just walk on and let you get back to your day."

"Sure, whatever."

*Looks over the spear* "Ah, rather nice.*
*breaks Ya'Jal over his knee, also breaks his own knee in the process*
*Gerrin attack nameless villager*

"Worthless spear. It was... worth it."

It's in the thread now, it's cannon.
>>
>>23930167
...Dick
>>
>>23930153
Maybe we should trade us using their magic to help them?

Also if we do this we need to create a school for it, a shaman school that will develop into a magi college. We can apply our written word to create magic runes, it'd be awesome!
>>
>>23930243
Magic is so rare in this setting though, the kind that isn't very connected to any particular bitchy god at least. Keep the magic secret if we can get it. Also I doubt that we could create magic runes or anything, how would that even work?
>>
>>23930243
Well, it's true, if we want to keep power, we will have to use our magic for services instead of trading itself away.
And while we have some apprentices for our individual shamans, I think your idea of a centralized meeting ground or school for all different shamans is a good idea.

>>23930167
Made me laugh. We all know we'd have done it.
>>
>>23930276
So, no magi college?
>>
>>23930278
Have a place where children can learn of the gods and try and evoke their power for MAGIC?!
>>
>>23930276
>>23930297
I think there's no harm in trying. And I'm sure even if it's not purely magical (as in fireballs and shit) in nature, a united "magi" of our shamans would be a good idea and they could perhaps teach each other tricks.

>>23930316
I feel like that is a reference to something...
>>
>>23930297
Not saying it isn't possible, just that Britfag would make us explain the process more than just "Okay, we invent magic runes and evocation". Magic in this setting is generally Low Fantasy (with the exception of The Burning Bitche's LazorCnon and Divine, what I'm hoping for is that these foxfolk know something about magic that isn't very Divine in nature.
>>
>>23930342
Of course we wouldn't get a kickstart and suddenly be able to cast lvl 7 spells right away, but with such a college and the discussion and proximity of the shamans, we could justify a slow passive research at least. I'm sure some of them ought to discover something at some point.
>>
Now friends, time to discuss what is important. We need to figure out exactly how we construct events to once more mirror GoT.
>>
>>23930378
So... no meteo?

Then what's the point?
>>
>>23930400
Think of the passive bonus to exp. And we will just have to farm a bit more. I mean we just killed a boss mob; if we could claim the loot as a trophy I'm sure our shamans could squeeze some exp outta there.

>>23930393
You had your chance. Next thing we mirror will be something else, because nobody would get my REFerence.
>>
>>23930444

"What do you mean you can't promise us safety?"
Yotaha shook her head sadly, sitting opposite Derrik, "I am not my sister," he explained, "I cannot and will not keep the fox-folk tied to my will. My sister kept them in line through fear; I will attempt to do the same through respect, but it may take some time - longer, perhaps, than many human lifetimes."
"You told us that you could keep our village safe, that you could stop the attacks," gritted Derrik, jabbing a finger at the fox-spirit.
"I said no such thing. I simply asked for your help," she responded meekly, bowing her head, "I can promise nothing, but rest assured that you will by no means face the same numbers, or hostility as when my sister ruled. Further, I have a gift for you, should you accept it. My sister may have promised you great wealth, but I would offer something of a different kind."

Derrik relates his meeting to Trym as they breakfast and they discuss their options, pondering what to do now.

A) Accept the gift and leave
B) Refuse the gift and leave
C) Make an ultimatum regarding fox-spirits in the mortal realm
D) Other
>>
>>23930832
Do we know what the gift is? Does it entail magic knowledge?
>>
>>23930832
D) Ask what the gift is before accepting. Also, tell her that if we can not be defended then we ask she allow a few of the fox folk, those who are willing, to come with us. They will watch the village and we will teach them our culture.

"If you can not protect us fully then give us this boon. Send with us a few of the foxkin. I am sure some are curious of the ways of humans and can learn much int he village. In return they will be able to see the signs of the deep woods more easily than us, and teach us the ways of the spirit folk."
>>
On a different note, what could the gift be? It's not riches, so I don't expect any kind of material wealth.

Knowledge? MAGIC?!

A. But with this.

"We humbly accept your gift and look forward to continued friendship between our lands and yours. Perhaps this is the beginning of a proud time for our people and yours and we look forward to being part of that process. This said, we will defend ourselves against incursions by your people as we would expect you to do were the situations reversed. We understand your desire to lead through respect, but until such a time as your people are united, we must look to protect our own people as well. I hope this does not hinder the growth of our mutual ties."
>>
>>23930936
But friendship is magic! So we're good, right?
>>
>>23930955
We have the right to be a bit angry with her at the moment Josh. We don't always have to be so level headed in negotiations.
>>
>>23930975
We knew this would happen. Maybe you specifically didn't but she made no promise to keep her people entirely in line. Heck, britfag even offered up as much in a hint when he said that she might not be strong enough to control the foxfolk.

That said, a gift is a gift and the last thing we need to do is make her decide we dont need one or possibly make her hostile to us.

Yotaha smiles when asked what her gift might be. "That's not how it works," she replies, "I assure you, it's nothing harmful. If you're reluctant, of course, you needn't accept it."
"As to my people," she goes on, "I cannot send them with you. Foxes may come and go of their own accord, but while I will try to guide them, I will not order them to perform a task, save in direst need. Besides, this has been a difficult time for them and they will need some time to allow things to return to normal. A human may rationalise and push aside something like this in a day, but we are not human." She smiles to punctuate her point, her teeth just slightly too pointed, her eyes gleaming and her golden tails seeming to shine faintly in the sunlight.

>>23931836
Alright, I like this, I'll change to this.
>>
>>23931836
One thing to have, have Derrik accept the actual gift in case it is something "magical" like youth or strength.
>>
>>23931943
Plus it helps keep with the theme of Trym being only a man, yet still fighting and slaying even gods.
>>
>>23931943
What would old Derrik use strength for? He probably won't survive. Besides, he's a hunter, not a warrior.

I think the only time when Derrik taking the gift would be an advantage would be if it was actual youth. In every other case, Trym would benefit more (he lives longer and can reap the benefits).
Even magic powers wouldn't be much more useful in Derrik's hands than in Trym's.
>>
>>23931973
Probably won't survive Trym.*
>>
>>23931973
But if Trym accepts this gift from a god and it DOES turn out to be a blessing, would honor not dictate that every future victory of Trym's is not longer solely his own?

Let Derrik accept the gift if it's a blessing of some sort, or try to find a way to keep it and pass it on to someone who needs it back home.
>>
>>23931973
I concur with this since its an entirely valid point. And who says its an intangible gift anyway?
>>
>>23931973
He is a spiritualist, our strongest priest. He is also the only one who can travel to the deep woods.
>>
>>23932010
To expand on this idea...
If she offers eternal youth, ask for a potion of immortality instead. If it isn't already made to travel, try and find a way to preserve whatever the gift is so we can use it at a later date.

Also, we could call her in to bless the Crown when we finally make Trym the king.
>>
>>23932010
If you go at it like that and not from a purely profit oriented stand point, then I could see some merit in it... But I still believe our greatest hero should recieve the prize.

>>23932017
Maybe it's just a nice mug with an inscription?

>>23932025
And he's old as fuck and even with his wolf-magic giving him strength, probably going to die soon.
I don't say he wouldn't deserve it, but there's more merit to be had if our soon-to-be chief and hero of heroes recieves the gift.
And I'm sure his young apprentice can soon find her way there as well.
>>
I'd also like to point out that it seems kind of a dick move for Trym to kill Ilfa(and nearly die) and then have Derrik swing in and jack his prize.

Plus, as Hruntis priest, how do you think it would fly having the blessings of two different spirits?
>>
>>23932062
He might be Hruntis priest, but compared to most of the other priests he has a lot more freedom, Hrunti is not the type to be angered by multiple blessings, if I remember right he is very laid back about how we chose to worship.

Also Tyrm is a brilliant soldier, but he is in no way a spiritualist, gonna have to disagree with you Josh, we should almost certainly give this blessing to Derrik, providing he is willing to take it.
>>
>>23932269
Or providing that it's even a blessing.
>>
Trym graciously accepts the gift, but taking Yotaha by surprise, insists that Derrik have it. She seems taken aback at first, then smiles and giggles quietly. "How about this," she asks, though it's really more of a statement, "Both of you shall receive it. You shall know it when you see it."

With that, Yotaha tasks one of her fox-folk to lead the heroes back to their entrance to the Deep Forest. It turns out to actually be a fairly straightforward path, across the bridge over the river and down a relatively clear trail, though Trym has to lean on his spear for support a little.

Again, Trym lays his hand upon Derrik's shoulder and the aged priest leads the pair of them into the trees, seemingly at random, though this time, the fox-folk guide walks with them and the oppressive feeling of the path back to the mortal realm seems less oppressive. Finally, the two heroes emerge from the treeline, to see the familiar bulk of the Wolf Oak before them. Glancing back, Trym just catches the glimpse of a pair of yellow fox eyes gleaming from the undergrowth, before with a flurry of multiple, bushy tails, a large fox vanishes into the bushes.

Back at the village, the two are given a hero's welcome, especially after Derrik relates the story of their adventure, whereupon it is immediately taken up and his characteristic, reticent and dour style is thrown out in favour of a tale that has Trym seducing fox-tailed princesses, slaying hundreds of foes and the very gods of the deep forest bowing to him and swearing to never trouble the Long Fangs again!

Action Points: THREE

A) Send out scouts (specify direction)
B) Send some hunters out to hunt game and catch fish
C) Gather resources (not food)
D) Gather wild food in the forest
E) Have your wise ones try to solve a problem
F) Hold a cultural event (specify)
G) Craft specific objects
H) Send envoys to another tribe
I) Other
J) Ask the elders for advice (No cost)
>>
>>23932803
H) Send Trym to visit his son, also let us talk to them about bringing the kid back to the village at some point.
B) And send the water goddess to bless the fishing side of things.
F) A celebration of the village as a whole, basically an excuse to bring the Bronze smith into the tribe.
>>
>>23932870
I'll agree to this for now.
>>
>>23932803
B. With lesser priestess of Hrunti lady and Chani
D. Does Perwan have a priest? If so, send them along. Harvest priest might equate out to wild fruits and veggies. Maybe?
I. Those wolves should have had pups by now, we need to get on training them.
>>
>>23932870
Seems good to me. I'd like to suggest praising all our gods in the celebration as well, because they haven't gottem much love recently.
On the other hand the celebration could have too many focuses then with all that.

...Steppin back to think for a minute
>>
>>23932870
This, but I would like to add something. Add Derrik hunting in the woods, brining the wolf priestess.
>>
>>23932922
I thought that was implied, but yes it is a general celebration.
>>
Ok, so guys, as for the food situation. Month 8 is when the harvest/fishing happens. It gives us enough food to last the entire winter, so we should be ok if we don't get food next turn.
>>
>>23932803
We just returned from slaying gods, a celebration is in order!
B) Hunting and Fishing will be required for this feast!

F)This feast will signify our victory in the lands of the gods, and will begin to set Trym up for assuming leadership of the tribe.

G) To signify Trym's victory, a branch from Wolf Oak is to be taken (With Hrunti's permission) and fashioned into a crown. The spikes of the crown shall be made from the long fangs of forest beasts, and the circlet is to be set with smooth stones from Chani's river.*****
Should we ask the gods to bless the crown before or after we make Trym king?
>>
>>23933017
Fuck that, I don't want a tribal leader yet, he has no spiritual abilities, in a world filled with gods the priests should rule if we are going to have a leadership structure.
>>
>>23933017
Seconding this. I think the best time to crown Trym would be right now, while his victory is still fresh. Most other stuff isn't time-sensitive.
>>
>>23933066
Jacov, don't you understand the beauty of Trym???

With little to no assistance from the gods, Trym has killed beings more powerful than any mortal.

Letting a priest rule would only lead to religious favoritism amongst the elite, and in a polytheistic world like this, that is not a good thing.
>>
>>23933017
Will second this. It's Trym's destiny.
>>
>>23933017
secunding
>>
>>23933017
Trym cant be king yet, we havent had the Kingsmoot that was voted on before the thread got quest-railed.

As for the feast, we already had a feast to signify their return. I'd suggest getting more food and doing little shit we keep meaning to do but end up forgetting when people get all caught up in the "We're great lets ride this until we die" attitude.

We do need to get the smith on our side but surely that can wait until the harvest feast, eh?
>>
>>23933017
I'm good with this.
>>
>>23933135
He isn't going to be king, the Crown will only signify his place of honor amongst the tribe. WHEN he becomes king, that's when it'll be a true symbol of office.
>>
>>23933161
>>23933135
Yep, crowning him will only strengthen his claim when the time of the kingsmoot comes. NOW is the best time to fashion the crown, while his victory is still fresh.

I know you realize the importance of strong claims.

I really am not comfortable with us having a king, especially one who is not blessed by a god, wouldn't a ruling council of priests be better, guiding us in the way of the gods.
>>
>>23933207
Wouldn't a ruling council of priests just fight for their particular god's dominance amongst the council?

And as stated before, HE WON"T BE KING YET
>>
>>23933017
I'll get behind this. It makes sense.
>>
>>23933207
It will be a king chosen by a council. And he won't be king yet.
>>
>>23933224
Not if they all had one vote, we manage to get things done despite us all only having one vote. And I have no doubt that it would mean they could micro manage there gods area of business, who is going to be better at dictating distribution of food. Trym or The priest of the harvest god?

Okay I know this wouldn't make him king, but it effectively sets him up for it.
>>
>>23933277
We could still have those self-regulating institutions with the king just intervening on that micro level when there is no other way.
Just because he's king doesn't mean he has to take care of all the shit.
>>
Okay, here is an idea of system of government that might make everyone happy.

You have the King, who must AS A RULE be beholden to no gods. This King is a ruler of men, and so it is to Mankind he must always be looking.

The king will be aided by a council of PRIESTS, particularly the HIGH PRIESTS of all major gods currently worshiped. The King can serve as peacemaker when disagreements between the High Priests occur, and these priests will govern areas most concerned with their gods sphere of influence (Hrunti gets the woodesmen, Perwan gets the farmers etc)

The King is basically the High Priest of Man, the High Priests of the other gods are like diplomats on behalf of their patrons wishes for the direction of the tribe.

Does that make any sense?
>>
>>23933277
I maintain that having a chieftain would go a long way in our diplomacy as far as that goes. Besides, Trym already is the defacto leader of our tribe anyway so it really changes nothing except his title.

Our tribe stills pretty much works as a "you get what you earn" kind of tribe so as I said, Trym potentially being chief changes nothing aside from the fact that he can now speak for our entire tribe in negotiations.
>>
>>23933349
I can get behind that.
>>
>>23933349
No, I am against a king. A council of the ruling heads of families is what I would argue for.

>>23933349
I can work with this, it reminds the tribe that their first alliance is with the rest of the tribe, but that serving the gods is important too.
>>
>>23933437
Ruling families creates and aristocracy, which leads to a disparity that also creates a horribly downtrodden lower class. Think Les Miserables.

Plus, with the council being composed of High Priests, we know for a fact that the council achieved their positions though means that the gods found acceptable according to their ethos.
>>
>>23933476
>dat pic
I don't even...
>>
>>23933499
Each family has a vote however, there is no family above the others.
>>
>>23933476
That's a pretty cool dress, in all seriousness.
>>
>>23933544
But it will become that way.
Every time you have a group of people holding power, the group will split into sections. And when one group is winning, the other group is losing by default. Think republicans and democrats in American politics. They can't get shit done because they're more focused on disagreeing with each other than they are on helping society.
>>
>>23933626
We will have no where near the ideological differences of the republicans and dems in our tiny tribe.
>>
>>23933656
But you get the point I'm trying to make, right?
>>
>>23933675
Long term, it could be a problem, but i doubt it.
>>
>>23933626
You can not say against something for how it will become, I can say the same for a chieftain becoming the absolute power and ruling with an iron fist. There are risks down the road for every plan.
>>
>>23933735
A Chieftain ruling with an iron fist will get shit done.

If the people do not like him, they will overthrow him and install a better guy,

If the people do love him, then who is even complaining?

If shit gets too bad and we end up like Hitler in Germany, at least we know that Germany made it out of the war okay.
>>
>>23933808
With Germany making it out okay I mean that the actual country wasn't replaced with something else. They kept their land (mostly) and their culture (mostly)
>>
>>23933735
Except for the fact that he'll be a king with a council. A strong council at that. One that wont take shit from him in the off chance he decided he wanted to give them shit.

No matter what form of government we take there will be risks, but think of it like this. We have no basis for any other kind of government other than tribalism.

And there is a very real reason that most early societies had chiefs. Because it was simple. It's an incredibly simple form of government that requires little to no actual study, which is good, because our tribe is governmentally retarded.
>>
>>23933896
Fine them, I will agree to it. I am just a bit nervous of it, as I would rather external affairs be handled by the council and internal by the king.
>>
The votes have spoken!
>>23933017
To celebrate Trym's safe return, a great feast is planned and prepared! Hunters take to the forest and fishers to the river to bring in nature's bounty and return both with healthy catches!

The festivities take place before Trym leaves for his annual stay with the River Brothers and the entire tribe enjoys the feasting, dancing, singing and drinking, though the celebration drains the last reserves of berry liquor. Some time during the festivities, the heads of several families (only slightly smashed) fashion a branch from the Wolf Oak into a crown of oak leaves and acorns, setting it about Trym's head. The warrior simply laughs it off and wears it for a while, before gracing his son's brow with the gift.

The following day, Trym leaves for the River Brothers village with his wife and son, while the rest of the Long Fangs continue the festival in his name.
