You are Ssen, a Lamia raised by a human Paladin who adopted you after killing the ones who birthed you. You are grown now, and Father has passed on. After a great deal of work, you have become a Paladin like your Father, and now take up his duties.

You are accompanied by your best friend from childhood, the insect druid Tricia; Mage, a magic user who ran away from his family of cannibal raiders known as the Ghouls (Yes, his name is Mage. It was his idea); Persephone, a 22-year old thief/ex-guerllia fighter (She goes by Peri), and Mari, a 13-year old prodigy scholar/now sniper, who has her mind and soul trapped within Peri's body; and Lea, a deeply religious musician/martial artist, trained by her father, a famous trainer for arena fighters, she's covered from her mouth down in bandages to hide the horrific state her body has become thanks to the 'cures' that saved her from cancer.

Your journey continues...

You took the plunge and dived into the pool of bigotry and hate known as First Stone Hall, a shantytown filled with the people who hated the new changes a Citadel-Free world inflicted upon them.

You marched an army of Occuli to their front door, and followed their 'spiritual leader,' Father Billings to the center of the town. The 'town' was in very bad shape, disease was rampant, housing was ramshackle at best, and everyone was on the brink of starvation. You discovered that BIllings actually did care for the people under his watch, but was enamored with his own glory and growing flock, so he preached the words of justified hate because that's what the First Stone people wanted to hear.

At the town 'square' you faced down Lord Gammar, who was out for your blood, blaming the death of Paladin Bobbi Odette, a relative of his, on you. He ordered a duel of honor, with Sally Allbread, the sociopathic trainer of the Purist raider forces, being his champion.

You used the duel to buy time, in order for Peri/Mari to pull off their plan. Tricia had discovered that Gammar had been hoarding food, and the location of the stash as well. With the use of a well placed blast stone, the food stash was exposed for all of the starving residents to see. A riot broke out almost instantly as people scrambled for the precious food. It only seemed to grow and grow, with fires starting as First Stone Hall pulled itself apart. You ordered the Occuli forces inside to quell the riot and evacuate people from the inferno. You rescued Father Billings personally, who was shocked to have his life saved by a monster. Apparently it caused a spiritual awakening in the man, because he gave a sermon to his flock, recanting the message of hate and urging his people to accept the new world that they now faced.

Paladin Avery, with a little help from the naga Scheherazade, aka Granny, managed to convince Isen the Audacious, aka Prince Itzak, to stay and help stabilize Stone Hall.
>>
You had another dream of the Dramatae and their efforts. The Lightbringers seem to have, once more, failed to live up to their expectations. Also, that they are looking for someone to fill the vacancy in their group, the one who wears the Rage mask. You got a name and a location out of them, Jeremy Sandover a man who lives in Stone Hall. Apparently he has an 'audition' coming up, and one of the tasks may be to eliminate some complications to the Dramatae's efforts...and nothing's been more complicated than you.

Also, Stone Hall has two more leads you need to follow up on. The Fifth Humor showed you a vision of a huge pile of Lantern Coins, the scattered remains of the First Lantern. The legendary 'weapon' that defeated the Dragon Who Was Of Shadow. Also, there's an old comrade of your Father's, someone named Tallow, who was supposedly also in contact with the Fifth.

However, with Stone Hall back on more stable footing, and Robin Goodfellow's return of your Nightmare, Stone Hall is only a brief trip away, so you might have a day or two to enjoy Stone Hall.

Good to be back!
>>
Right if I remember correctly we were planning a day on the beach and then leaving afterwords. Someone mentioned a joke that since Isen will be busy with his duties he could always send Tara in his stead.

We should also warn Granny that the Dramatae have assigned a prospective member to destroy the horde of the Old One. As she is the oldest one we know she might be a target. Personally I think its the dragon of Bronze Peak though. Horde is a very dragony word.

First things first though, see how Mage is doing on that translation spell. We want it to be complete before we leave as one of the big problems with cohabitation between Lizards and Humies are the fact aht most can't talk to one another.
>>
>>24017272
>Stone Hall is only a brief trip away, so you might have a day or two to enjoy Stone Hall.

Right, anyways.

Day at the beach with side order of poking fun at Isen for not being able to come. I would like to speak with bird lady before we go anywhere. Also, waiting on Mage finish that translator spell.
>>
Ha-ha! YES! And it's almost midnight. Time for Paladin Lamia adventures.
>>
>>24017272
>Jeremy Sandover a man who lives in Stone Hall.

>>Stone Hall is only a brief trip away, so you might have a day or two to enjoy Stone Hall.

Right sorry, dumbass moment 1 of the day. BRONZE PEAK is where Sandover lives and is 1 day away.
>>
>>24017307
Mage is down with Granny in the undercity, he's got something that looks like a tall tripod of metal sticks, supporting a clear glass sphere.

"Hey Seen, so I think I got it." Mage says. "You want the long technical explanation, or the short version that's a little inaccurate?"
>>
>>24017307
>Personally I think its the dragon of Bronze Peak though

I agree with this actually. Though speaking with Granny about what we saw should at help clear up anything we might be misunderstanding. There is possibly that 'Old One' might refer to something we haven't heard of or seen yet.
>>
>>24017435
I probably won't understand the technical version... but give it to me anyway.
>>
>>24017435
"I'll take a guess as to what the short one is; It's magic. I don't got explain shit.

"Hit me with the technical version."
>>
>>24017435
If you want to geek out, don't let me stop you.
>>
(setting details ahoy!)
>>
>>24017450
"I probably won't understand the technical version...but give it to me anyway." You say.

"Alright, the Empire Babble spell is projected as an auditory/luminous field from the sphere. This normally scrambles the language centers of the brain just a little and alters the eardrums slightly. It makes it sound that people are talking nonsense to each other. The rods, however are Ghoul Horns, they cast a slight form of fleshshaping magic, more specifically, the magic that returns an altered Ghoul's body to a more stable state. So what happens is that the language centers in the brain and their ears, all get reset, and then reconfigured back into the same uniform standard. This circumvents both the domination effects of the Empire magic and the flesh rending/need for flesh of the Ghoul magic, because I'm only using half of each spell.

"We set a few of these things up in the city, and boom, everyone will be able to understand each other. Now, it wont change the lizard people's tongue, but it'll let humans learn it, and how to speak it, and visa versa."

"The boy's no fool." Granny says. "We tested it on some of my people, and Mage as well. It seems to work...although Mage's magic may have altered the study, so you never know how standard humans may react."

"I'm pretty sure that it'll go perfectly." Mage says with that 'This should work...or melt people's heads' smile.
>>
Oh man, lamia quest is back before schedule. My snacks are still cooking, but WELCOME BACK ECHO!
>>
>>24017604
Right, we need a test group of people first before we spread these around the entire city. I wonder if the good father and some his flock is willing to volunteer? It woudl be a good gesture that they are willing to work past their hates. Otherwise just ask around the city for 'em
>>
>>24017640
>>24016922
Yes, Echobro. We missed you.
>>
>>24017604
"Maybe would should increase the pool of test subjects before doing the whole town. I'm sure Avery and myself can find some volunteers or ... well maybe in Avery case /volunteers/.

"Good work thus far Mage.

"And Granny can we speak private for a bit?"
>>
It IS nice to have Echo back. Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend.

Yep. increase the test group, work on how we will distribute these once they are ready.
>>
Oh and don't forget to tell Mage and Granny they did an excellent job.
>>
>>24017706
"Well, we need to test it with humans of course." You say. "You think we should get Billings or some of his flock down here?"

"Who?" Mage asks. He has been out of the loop about the situation topside. "Eh, well if you can talk him into coming down, or anyone else, we'll see."

Billings is uneasy, but he views this as the 'saved my life' favor. He's not too pleased to be in the tunnels or the undercity, and he views the device with distrust, but stands there frowning. (Granny has hidden away from Billings.)

"Okay, let's do this." Mage says. "Uhh...don't look directly at the apparatus."

The device glows, the sphere glows white and the poles glow yellow, there's a deep THRUMMMM...and Billings winces and puts his hands over his ears. The lights fade andBIllings shakes his head.

"Makes my ears pop." He mutters.

"Hello." The "Elder" Lizard Person says. "You speak with me now?" He asks.

Bliings blinks. "Yes...by His Light...yes I can."

The Lizard Person flicks his tongue in approval. "I have been taught your tongue, but need much help. Same with people. Can you help?"

Billings pauses and then nods. "Yes...yes, I have much to atone for. This is suitable penance."

You and Mage roll your eyes. The man's ego hasn't changed much, now he's trying to all noble about how he takes on his new hair shirt.

Still it's a start.

"Okay, so I can have the Conclave and the Mages build these." Mage says. "Now we just need a name...like Mage's Amazing Tongue Twister." He smiles at you and then frowns. "Too Isen?"
>>
>>24017956
"Mage, it's your first commercially deployed magical device.

You are allowed to be as Isen as you want."
>>
>>24017956

>>

>Oh god naming things again
>>
Its a bit Isen. But you have the right to be proud.

>>
>>24017956

How about "Mage's Multilingual Mnemonic Modeler?"

It's a bit of a mouthful, but I think that covers all of the bases. And it has alliteration!
>>
>>24017986
"Mage, it's your first commercially deployed magical device.

"You are allowed to be as Isen as you want." You say. "Although, maybe you should use a less...complicated name. Why not the name of the Paladin who first travelled to the Desert Tribes and translated the dialects, Rosetta?"

"The Rosetta...I like it." Mage says.

"Rosetta Device...made by Mage Patrick."

Mage then goes through he steps of disassembling the device to take it to the Staves Guild members, using Billing's help. You slide over to Granny's dwelling.

"Did the man's head melt?" Granny asks.
>>
>>24018084
"Fortunately not. I've had enough of cleaning up his messes for one lifetime."
>>
>>24018084
No, the device worked. And he agreed to help the Elder with learning common. I think he deserves a chance to make up for his mistakes and doing so will let him see Lizards as people as well.
>>
>>24018084
"He seems fine. Maybe a bit bigheaded, in fact, but not molten."

What did we want to talk to granny about anyway?

Also, echo, when was the last time we shed? Do our companions know about it? Are we going to have an embarrassing/hilarious shedding break while traveling later on?
>>
>>24018084
>>24018084
"I wish it had melted his ego! But no, he's fine."
>>
>>24018084
"No, though it might have done his ego some good if it had"

"But regardless, we now have a functioning method of communication"
>>
>>24018149
>What did we want to talk to granny about anyway?

Dream, Old Ones hoard, maybe ask if she knows a Jeremy Sandover (doubt it but wroth a shot). I think that's what we wanted to talk about at least.
>>
>>24018194
>hoard
>horde
>>
>>24018194
fair enough.

Oh, what do you think of my crazy theory:

The first lantern brought the dragon down to the level of the people, right?

And the modern day dragon is, we think, the fifth humor and is in human form, right?

What if the coins are formed into a body that we seal citadel in?
>>
>>24018149
"He seems fine. Maybe a bit bigheaded, in fact, but not molten. At least he agreed to help the Elder with learning common. I think he deserves a chance to make up for his mistakes and doing so will let him see Lizards as people as well."

"A Paladin to the end...tell me Worm, when you say those things, is it because you want to ape your Father, you really believe in this, or do you just want no one to even question that you can be anything else than a Paladin?"

"Scheherazade, have you ever heard of someone named Jeremy Sandover?"

"Sorry, don't get out much." She shrugs.

"Someone known as the Old One, or a big horde of lantern coins?"

Granny sighed. "Old One's a Dragon Title, I tend to stay away from those things. They get...possessive. Worse if they think you're related to them. We are their distant kin after all, and Dragons love pretty things that belong to them."

>>24018149
>Also, echo, when was the last time we shed? Do our companions know about it?

You did it durning the caravan trip. The others know about it, but you find it hideously embarrassing (you have to strip) ...despite that it feels very nice both during and after.
>>
>>24018259
My only problem is Granny has said every time those coins showed it only lead to failure (Spear/Bell/Sword). Part of me thinks those things are just a trap that wont work against the Humors or Citadel no matter what shape they're in.
>>
>>24018259
>releasing the coins into the populace and spreading it over such a wide area is in fact a necessity for a country wide ritual, there is nowhere that they cannot touch
>>
>>24018358

We could try reforming it into a lantern. It was very potent in its first form for whatever reason. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be a weapon or disrupting device at all, but a beacon or some sort of tool to help people.
>>
>>24018355
"I hope you're not speaking from experience."
>>
>>24018355
>"A Paladin to the end...tell me Worm, when you say those things, is it because you want to ape your Father, you really believe in this, or do you just want no one to even question that you can be anything else than a Paladin?"

"Because I was given a chance once and I wish to give everyone I meet same.

"Think that 'Old One' would be willing to listen if I said its horde was in danger?"

>>24018425
Maybe. But I think it would be prudent to look for another way of beating them that doesn't involve those coins.
>>
>>24018449
"I hope you're not speaking from experience."

"My advice is to make the thing think that there's something better that it should have, or that you aren't worth being part of it's collection...and NEVER steal from a Dragon. They don't mind bargains though."
>>
>>24018494
"And I'm a Paladin, because I was given a chance once and I wish to give everyone I meet same.

"Think that 'Old One' would be willing to listen if I said its horde was in danger?"

"No question." Granny nods. "But again, don't place all your faith in those coins. No one's been able to get them to work to their advantage." She sighed.
>>
>>24018509
>Officially holding off on fixing our appearance until after dealing with the Dragon.
>>
>>24018555
I think we got most of it fixed though.
>>
>>24018355
>"A Paladin to the end...

"I may sound more like a paladin about this issue than others. I have strong feelings on the topic of redemption is all."
>>
>>24018509
>>24018555
>>24018566
Screw that. Let's bring the dragon a gift.

What are dragons when they wake up? Hungry and greedy. We don't have enough money to satisfy a dragon's greed, but do you think an entire herd of cattle, prepared and roasted in spices, will be enough for a dragon's hunger?
>>
>>24018614
Bring it porn, wine, fireworks and steak.
>>
>>24018614
Let's not. The exchange of info tends to be a powerful one and telling him that there is a threat to its horde from the humors would carry a lot of weight on its own.

>>24018540
Ask Granny if she has any ideas or old leads she couldn't acted on how to stop the humors if the coins are not the way to do it.
>>
>>24018540

>>
>>24018667

>>
You know, i can't recall granny ever actually using our name
>>
>>24018728
I think we gave it to her, but whatever.
>>
>>24018709
I just remember us talking to someone about the 'First Lantern' and how it wasn't really lantern but more metaphors and such. It was with the guy that was coughing and wheezing every time he spoke. I might be getting things crossed in my memory, wouldn't be the first and won't be the last.

>>24018728
Have we ever called anything but Granny?
>>
>>24018762
On occasion, as we do know her name, or at least, the one she gave us to use.
>>
>>24018762
Yeah, but he's like, a dude, and thats what the coins are supposed to be, pieces of the lantern right? So why would the lantern be metaphorical if the coins that were made from it aren't?
>>
>>24018798
Because legends and myths get things wrong a lot of the times?
>>
>>24018824
You've let Citadels influence blind you to the truth, Boy-o.
>>
>>24018655
"No one's tried to make them what they should be. I think it's supposed to be a lantern, not a sword, and not a bell."

Granny shrugs. "Perhaps."

"The Humors are also getting increasingly aggressive." You say.

"Well, I think we know who's responsible for THAT now, don't we, Little Worm?" She chuckles. "I don't know about the other three...but do not try to fight the one who wears Peace." She sighs. "I don't think that one's completely human."

She shakes her head. "Enough of dark talk and dragons. You should be up there enjoying your youth and victory. Shoo, Little Worm."
>>
>>24018867
Not really, just questioning everything. One thing, to me, that's been proven is no one source of information has been 100% right or wrong. Somewhere between each one has hint at the truth which we need to dig out. I just don't want to run with one idea and only that idea when it could very well be wrong.
>>
goodbye Scheherazade, stay safe.

>>24018889
Now on to that beach party of sorts. Because now it's day off time. Well kinda. Never really a day off for Paladin but goddam we can try.

"Too bad you can't join me up there. Times seem to be changing!"

oh, I just thought of something.
Hey, do you guys remember those old lightbringer songs?

The ones lea told us that were about the lightbringers fighting a giant naga?

Remember how granny told us she used her coins to make a spear?

Remember how the 5th told us that granny took her spear to fight the lightbringers of her time?

We have a song we can hear at any time that details granny's fight, if we care to hear it.
>>
>>24018889
Hug the naga.
>>
>>24018889

One last question: if we should encounter the chosen Lightbringers in our travels, should we attempt to interact with them? Or would the Humours not take too kindly to that?

"Goodbye Scheherazade, stay safe."

"Same to you, Little Worm." She says.

You head back up. You reach the sunlight and instantly have a basket shoved into your arms.

"Come on, we're going on a picnic." Tricia says. She's dressed in a sundress and has on an even bigger hat.

Peri's in a decidedly revealing, low cut white dress, and Lea's got on a loose hooded robed, but she's not wearing her facial bandages. Tara's there she's carrying a giant umbrella, a few folding chairs, and another basket. She's dressed in her skimpy pit fighter 'uniform.'

"We've got our own little chunk of beach to ourselves behind the Lighthouse." Tricia says. "We're going to test it out."

"A picnic? I had almost given up on that. What would I do without your surprises?"

"Go nuts and eat people." Tricia says.

The beach is nice, a little less sand and a little more pebble perhaps, but nice. Lea spends a lot of the time in the water, she's doing her usual katas, but it's nice to know that she isn't as self-concious about her body around the group as she used to be.

Tricia and Peri are playing some kind of game with a ball, you aren't sure if there are any real rules apart from hitting the ball at each other, but they seem to be having fun.

Tara is sunbathing. You're a little jealous at the horned girl's figure...but the knowledge that most of it is fake is helpful.

"So, where are you guys, like, going next?" Tara asks. "Cause, you know, we can always use the help to fix things and stuff here."

Tara laughs. Then she waves. You turn to look. It's Mage, Sophie, Gregory, and Barney heading down the steps to the beach that lead to the lighthouse.

Gregory is carrying a box, and glaring at Mage and Sophie who are walking hand in hand and chatting. Barney's got one of his contraptions.

"This is something I bought from a guy along with a half-dozen other things...only thing that worked in Citadel, but I couldn't make enough to sell regularly. Give me a bit to set it up." He takes the box Gregory has and starts setting together something that involves two buckets, one inside the other, a lot of ice, cream, sugar, honey, a few drops of a brown liquid, a crank, and a lot of twisting and swearing as he spins the handle over the buckets. "This should be ready in about ten minutes or so...trust me, you'll love it!"

"It looks like it has the makings of being good. Will there be enough for everyone?"

"Hopefully. I'll need to make maybe a batch or two, but no seconds." Barney says.

"Oi!" Gregory snaps. "Stay where I can see you!"

"Brother, I WILL turn you into a frog." Sophie snaps. You kind of feel envious a little, Sophie's got a lower body that rivals Tara's.

Of course, Mage's face is one of mixed excitement, and pure nervous terror as the other magic user leads him around a clump of rocks.

Gregory swears and mutters under his breath. "If he does anything to her...I swear..."

"So, who's this guy you gotta stop?" Tara asks. "Another guy like those losers in that crap hole you burnt to the ground?"
>>
Someone who wishes to keep the status quo forever. Someone dangerous.

On second thought; fuck it, Tricia likes our tail. :3

"Eww." Barney says. "Okay," He gets a small bowl and a wooden spoon. He opens the lid and scoops something solid and white into the bowl and hands it to you. "You eat this...go ahead. Try it!"

You take an experimental lick. By His Light and all that it Illuminates, this is one of the greatest things you've ever tried. Cold, sweet, and your tongue gets to experience every lovely little nuance, the honey, the vanilla, and the silky smooth taste of heaven.

By the time you return from your confectionary bliss, the bowl is empty and you're licking your face clean.

"So...uhhh...you liked it. I guess." Barney says, a little stunned at your reaction.

"Barney, you truly are a GENIUS." You say. "Everyone! Come over here and try this. NOW!"

The group hurries over and Barney doles out as much as he can so that everyone gets a little taste. Then he goes back to making more before the rest of the ice melts.

"Yeah, I so wish I could take credit for this one." Barney says. "But no, I feel really lucky that I managed to snag this one along with a bunch of others. There's this asshole, Sandover, tried to buy this out from under me. Thankfully, I got it in a package deal from this guy, he had these wild ideas about how to use ice and snow."

"Don't talk about him." Gregory says. "Ruins my appetite." He says as he starts into his picnic lunch, trying his hardest to ignore the rumpledness of Sophie and Mage's clothes.
>>
>>24020276
"So tell me, why can't you make big batches of the stuff?"

"I tried, even tried to use my pride and joy person mover by hooking it up to the crank with the chain...but it kept on breaking. And again, that much ice or snow would mean I'd have to charge people an insane amount for even this little bit."

"Ah, pity, but about this Sandover asshole? I've heard the name before. Just who exactly is he?"

The two men look at each other and shake their heads. "He's a prick," Barney says. "He's the last guy I made cards for."

"He was part of Cups, but he left when he got rich enough." Gregory says.

"Doing what?" Tricia asks.

"He developed the technique for that." He gestures to Tara's face. "The guy would go on and on about the merits of beauty and how people who were pretty, or smarter, or 'better' deserved to have the world give them things on that virtue alone." Barney shook his head. "Asshole thought that I was using some of my inventions wrong. Jerk."

"He kept trying to talk me into acting...you know...and told Sophie to dress like a tramp." Gregory shakes his head. "I never liked him, and the way he talked about Citadel was creepy. Like he fetishized it."

"Oh no, he did." Barney says as he cranks the ice cream maker. "I saw him actually tongue kiss one of the statues and whisper to it once." He shook his head. "He wanted me to make stuff that was just...dumb or dangerous. He was REALLY interested in the you-know-what." Barney mimes the pistol. "Said that if we 'fit' as part of 'his beautiful vision' that our lives would be better. I told him to go fuck himself."

"Same here." Gregory says. "I also made his shirts a third of an inch too tight."
>>

"He's at Bronze Peak?" Barney asks. "Well, it can't be good."

"Probably there to bother the artificers or sneer at the dwarves who aren't drunk or in the mine." Gregory said. "Guy was the weirdest speciest I ever saw. He didn't hate other species, just got weird if they weren't stereotypes." He shrugs. "Well, he can stay inside that mountain for as long as he wants, as far as I'm concerned."

>>
>>24020898
"Thanks for the info. Anyways, keep up the good work, Barney. I'm sure your inventions will be received better here than at Citadel."

"Here's hoping, and as long as you guys are letting me stay under your roof, a part of my proceeds will go to the Claigo Clarus."

"And I'll have your new tabards and uniforms ready by tomorrow." Gregory says.

"Okay," Tricia says. "Enough work, come on Ssen. I wanna swim!"

Of course, 'swimming' with Tricia means that she clings to you as your tail does the majority of the work, still, she makes sure that things don't get too boring.

The day passes and the sun sets. A fire is built and warmer clothes are put on as you all cook a little dinner.

Isen shows up just in time to be utterly heart broken that he missed seeing everyone in their beach clothes and that he doesn't get any ic cream ever. Tara hands him a roasted piece of chicken and whispers something in his ear, that seems to cheer him up, but he does grumble about work as he sits there and chews.

"Ugh, Dad makes this crap look so easy." Isen massages his head. "I KNEW I didn't want to do this. You have it so easy Sexy Scales, all you have to do is show up and stab things."

You give Tara a 'really?' look. She sighs and shrugs. "He makes me laugh. Also, after we're married if he cheats on me, I'll, like, pull it off." Tara whispers to you.

"Well, it is a shame you got to miss the swimming. Perhaps, by the time we get back, things will have settled down here. We'd almost certainly take the chance to use the beach next time we are here."

"I'm going to hold you to that promise." Isen says.

"Sure, sure. Know anything about Bronze Peak? Maybe some stories to share if you've been there. Trying to get as much info as I can before we head that way."

Isen shrugs. "I went there with the guys that I hired to be my entourage once. It's like every other town, guilds, a Travelers, and a Conclave. I didn't check out the Artificer's workshop though, and I didn't wanna see the mines. There's supposed to be this mountain path to a goat sanctuary or something like that. Also there's a temple way way up there, but that was a hike so I didn't bother."

"It's a Temple to the Great Bear." Lea says. "It and all the other totems that the Third Age people who lived in those mountains worshipped before they became part of Citadel.

"My father went there to study in the old library that's there. It's where he learned a lot of the moves that I know." She takes a drink. "It's a beautiful place, very spiritual. It shows how people always know of His Light, even if they use the wrong name for Him."

"I'll make some inner lining to your armor and a decent shawl." Gregory says. "Wont take me half a day, really."

"Alright, what happened to the other totems?" You ask Lea.

Lea shrugs. "Abandoned in favor of His Light, I won't lie, there's been record of a few more violent 'conversions' but once Bronze Peak became part of Citadel Kingdom, people just naturally abandoned the totems on their own." She frowns. "That was probably not because of inner enlightenment, though, was it?" She sighs. "Horrid thing."

This seems to signal the end of the evening. The others all make their way back to the Lighthouse, and Tara throws Isen over her shoulder and takes him back to the manor, a big grin on his face.

Tricia punches you in the shoulder as she blushes. "You always know what to say." She kisses you on the neck.

You don't know if it's just your senses, or a biological advantage that lamias developed to snare food better. But Tricia always says that you have a faint taste of sweet nectar, and Tricia of course, has a lingering tang of honey to her own self.

After a big the two of you got back up to sleep. The morning comes and you all go through the motions of getting the wagon and the Nightmare ready for travel. Gregory's winter clothes are lovely and very warm and fit perfectly under your armor.

Mage is reluctant to try the haste spell on the Nightmare. "It's already a jacked up creature that's got magic pumping through it." He says as the wagon thunders along down the road. "I don't want to risk it."

"Also," Lea says over her shoulder as she guides the beast. "I doubt the wagon could withstand any more strain."

"This thing has been through a lot." Mari says.

Better, Billings is preaching tolerance and shouting down other people who are being stubborn. It's lost a lot of the power that it had thanks to the fall of First Stone and Billings' change of message, but it's going to be a while before there's widespread acceptance. However, it seems to be more of a 'When' than an 'If' for now.

"What about Lightmare?" Mage says.

There's a moment, then all the girls burst out laughing.

"Hey! It's a cool name!" Mage protests.

The wagon is still filled with laughter as the road rolls along.

Eventually you pass an inn 'The Slanted End' The sun is setting, and you can rest here for the night and arrive at Bronze Peak a little before mid-day.

You hitch up the Nightmare, and go inside. It looks like a regular inn. There's a few people at the tables, sounds of life from the upper floors, and a man pouring drinks at the bar.

There's a few glances in your direction, but then they look back to what they were doing before. The others are standing in front of you, so they don't instantly notice what you are.

"Welcome to Slanted End, how can I-ayayaugh!" The waitress screams as she sees you and realizes what you are.

"Monster!" She shrieks.

The other men jump up m their card game, but one, dressed in priest robes holds up his hand. "Hold!"

He walks up to you and looks at your circlet and mantle. "This is...oh my...this is the Paladin Serpent. The talking, intelligent lamia that became a Paladin." He bows. "We are honored by your presence."

The waitress just scowls and heads back to the kitchen. The other men slowly sit back intot heir seats and try to restart their card game, they are Not-Looking at you very intently. The bartender glares daggers at you.

"Friendly place." Peri mutters.

There's a spot on the wall where something used to hang, you can see the discoloration in the wood. Apparently it was there for a while, and now its gone. It was about as big as a loaf of bread, vertically positioned, and rectangular.

Hmmm. Too small for a shield, too broad for a sword or similar weapon; bit small for a painting but perhaps a small picture. What's the shape? (I'd kinda like to look at it for a moment and try to guess from its shape before we just directly ask the bartender.)

"What?" Mari says. "That's 5 times the usual price!"

"For a Traveler's piece of crap sure, but I run a nicer establishment...and..." He pinches the bridge of his nose and shakes his head. "Ughh...so, like I said. 10 gold."

"What?" Peri looks at Lea.

"What used to hang on the wall over there?" You ask as you point.

"What?" The man turns and looks. "Ummm, I don't...the clock. I had a cuckoo clock there...why'd I take it down?" He turns back to the group. "Like I said. 50 gold. Take it or leave it, sleeping in the stable's free if you can take the cold."

True; I just meant "might be", as in let's talk to the bartender and see what's wrong, and get a little more information before we start invoking protection in a crowded bar.
>>
>>24023955
good point, and that prayer does not even fit the situation, we need the ones we used when our companions where trapped, not the one to shield us from citadel.

>>
>>24023992
Stone Hall was immune; we'd better get used to the rest of the world not being so sheltered. Since when do we turn away from a problem?

Perhaps Citadel is getting stronger because the Lightbringers are making progress, or because they passed through here?

"By any chance, did a pair of young travelers pass through here recently, on their way to Bronze Peak? We were told we might meet them along the way."
>>
>>24023770
"Are you alright?"

"Yeah...sorry." He says.

"Hello!" A voice says. "Did I hear someone come in?" A woman's voice says as she comes down from the floor above. She's...well...you spot the telltale scars of someone who's gone through the same procedure as Tara did, only this lady...wow...how the hell does she not have crippling back pain? Not to mention that the table, with its napkins and dining mats has more fabric on it than she does. The worst thing is that you think this stuff is supposed to be armor. But there's no way in His Light that that could block anything other than a very specific arrow shot to a very specific spot.

She also has ridiculously long hair that's dyed blue. Yeah, you and Lea have long hair, but there's a reason you tie it up out of the way. That's just asking for a snag or a pull or something bad.

She's got on a pair of gauntlets that you've never seen before either. They've studded with gemstones and covered with runes. Again, completely impractical, especially if they're magic based, who would be fool enough to generate magic focused around their own hands, even Ghouls aren't that suicidal.

"Ummm, I...ummm..." She looks around. She taps Lea on the shoulder again.

"Please stop doing that." Lea says pushing her hand off.

The girl just turns around and heads back towards the stairs, she walks by the waitress again. "Hello, and welcome to the Slanted End, it's 10 gold a night if you'd like to rest." She says again.

"Ssen," Mage says. "I think we should have been running away about ten minutes ago."

The innkeeper stops staring out into space and looks back at you. "Anyway, it's 50 gold for a night, it's the same for everyone, and I have to make a living you know. Travelers are putting everyone out of business, but I assure you that it's work the cost."

>>24024232
Citadel hates us at the moment; I'd guess it's the one making the bartender dislike us and want to charge us more.

Citadel seems to be fairly firm in its control unless the targets in question are fairly strong-willed. Or someone attempting to override Citadel's influence with compulsion magic, with limited success.

Both because our party probably has much better chances than they do, and more importantly because we're not necessarily out to unquestioningly charge at their target head-on. Among other things, we're likely to try to talk to it first.

Maybe the big evil is the Dragon, not quite dead yet, and Citadel wants to keep it tamped down even though it's "reformed"?

We don't actually know that detail; we know they'd be biologically ours, whether that means snaky or not.

We don't know that. They have our genetics. They'd be half-half-snake.

>>
>>24024761
Holy crap. The Lightbringers have been living life In a standard grindfest MMO
>>
>>24024761
How about we walk over and try to talk to the priest? We certainly got his attention before, though the tension in the room helped with that. We could thank him, at least.

>>24024826
This seems promising; previously, we had more luck when we persistently confronted the cracks in whatever facade Citadel had put up.
>>
>>24024761
I don't think we can confront them in this place. How about we slip a letter below their door so they can meet us.

I'm really agreeing with this. As much as I want to just leave. Something about this:

>"What?" Lea asks.

>The girl blinks and steps back. "Umm...hello?"

>"Hello." Lea says.

>"Can we help you?" Tricia asks.

>"Maybe into some actual clothes." Peri mutters.

>"Ummm, I...ummm..." She looks around. She taps Lea on the shoulder again.

>"Please stop doing that." Lea says pushing her hand off.

I want to talk to the girl at the very least. Not saying anything important but just talk.

"Well, Mari. We can start by doing *this*. tap her shoulder and giggle a bit before realizing how sad the whole thing is.

This is great and is exactly the kind of thing an NPC would do.

>>
>>24024388
Hmmm. What about this actually says the voices upstairs are the Lightbringers? We originally recognized the girl, who isn't upstairs. I think we might be chasing the wrong lead here.

>>24024947
Nice idea, if we had a spare. There's the Lantern coin, but that seems rather precious to be handing out. And besides, they'd probably think it was too awesome to use and save it in their inventory forever rather than using it.

>>24024947

We're going to find a whole chest of them in Bronze Peak, hopefully. Seeing as the fate of everything ever rests on these guys, I think we can spare it.
>>
>>24025063
We might have trouble finding more without a sample. Still, it's an interesting notion.

>>24025026

>>
>>24024761
I am seconding this

>>
You can give them the Lantern Coin, and Lea is willing to give up her medallion. (Since her true symbol is a part of her, but she isn't totally aware of that.) So you can give either to them.

Now here's the question, do you go up to face them solo, or do you want to bring the entire party up with you as well? Just so you remember, your presence slightly knocked the inn people back to reality, but the girl's presence sent them back into their trance and now they're locked in it. You and your friends are still autonomous...for now.
>>
>>24025158
Is Lea's medallion actually a Clarus medallion at this point? What does it have in its center?

A bucket of water slams into your face and you're sputtering and choking next to Lea.

"I think they're coming out of it." Mage says.

"Oh, blessed be His Light." Tricia says as she hugs you.

"What happened?" Peri asks, holding her head in pain.

"I managed to bang our head against a wall." Mari says. "You were acting as loopy as those two."

"We got to the top of the stairs, and then you...changed." Tricia said. "Lea too," You started to babble nonsense about being 'the new face of Citadel' and how 'the Paladin order was now enlightened' and Lea started to sound like Billings! You hit me in the face Lea!"

"Sorry." Lea groans. "How'd we get down here?"

"I hit you both with a sleep spell. Since you were already out of it, it wasn't too hard." Mage says. "Mari took out Peri, and then we dragged you all out here until you came back to your senses."

"Got it."

The four of you get tied up and you head up the stares, Mage watching concerned from the bottom.

Your ears pop, your head spins, and you get that wonderful feeling of bli-

Tricia slaps you across the face, and the world clicks back into focus. You're still on the top stairs.

"You back?" She whispers.

Peri is shaking her head violently, swearing under her breath at Mari. She holds up a hand. "She's okay...she's okay."

Lea looks fine and a little pissed.

Tricia shakes you shoulder. "Snake, are you okay?"

"I hate this place." You mutter.

"We're okay, Mage." Lea signals. "Go find that clock."

"Gotcha."

You take a deep breath and knock on the door that you hear the voices coming from.

The boy who opens the door looks almost as stupid as the woman does. At least his armor is a bit more sensible, although it does look like half of it he took out of a rummage sale. If you do not use a shield, like you do, you shouldn't have just one shoulder armored. Especially if you use that big two handed sword on his back that you hope is a weapon. Although the design of the thing is totally impractical, and the engravings and etchings of dragons are snags and jams and chips just waiting to happen. Not to mention that he has far far too many fasteners, clasps and belts on his person, with way too many pouches. Peri has five, at the most, and they're all half the size of one of this guy's. Not to mention the kid needs a haircut, you don't have anything against bangs, seeing as you look quite good in them, but having half of your hair hang over your face and cover one of your eyes is just stupid. Vision is important, and vanity can get you stabbed in the side.

"Yes?" He asks. "Who are you?"

"Oh, well, your companion tried to greet us earlier, and it seems we were a little brisk with her, we were busy with getting our room. I came by to introduce myself and my friends properly." You motion to the others.

"Tricia Greats." "Persephone Marina." "Lea Ughruda."

"And this," Mari says, with a decidedly Isen-esque flourish. "Is Lady Paladin Ssen Patrick, the Paladin Serpent. Savior of Purple Sands, Champion of First Wood, Liberator of Stone Hall, and Hero of Citadel." She says with a smirk.

"Wait..." The boy says, looking you up and down. "Ssen Patrick...YOU'RE the Paladin that killed the Ghoul King and saved Stone Hall?" He flexes his hands and looks to the side for a moment, then looks back at you. "I was supposed to do that! I mean...thanks...I guess." He says sulkily. "We could have done it too, you know...if they hadn't cheated."

"Be nice!" The girl says. "Thank you Lady Paladin, you're...you're...you're a lamia!" She says, staring at your body.

"Really?" Peri gasps. "Tricia, did you hear that?!"

"When were you going to tell us Ssen?" Tricia says.

The girls break into laughter, as Peri swats them both.

"Okay, so...you wanted to say hello. So, hello..." He looks uncomfortable, so does the girl. As if they has no idea what to say to a person that isn't a response to something they said.

You look behind them at their room, the innkeeper wasn't lying, this place is worth more than just 10...maybe not 50, but still...but you don't really see any personal belongings to these people that aren't weapons or travel supplies. No books like Lea and Mage, no little puzzle toys like Mari, and no little badly-folded paper animals like Tricia. (She asked Princess Mumei to show her how and she's picked up the hobby) These are two people who just live for fighting and the road.

And from the smell in the room and their pheromones, each other. But there's something else, how she doesn't totally look at him, and little things like that.

Wow that kid is a jerk. Not Sora for sure. Even Leon and Cloud would've slapped his shit.

Let's try to talk again in the morning when hurt egos have been nursed a bit.
>>
I'll bet his personality is just standard emo protagonist.

Give them the Clarius, tell them that it might come in handy 'in Dark places.'
>>
>>24026511
"Alright, get a haircut Fuck-O."
>>
>>24026673
I wouldn't give him anything but the girl. Now there's the link we want to focus on. It might be the obvious option but this guy is a jackass.
>>
>>24026706
Agreed; we need someone in a frame of mind to listen.
>>
>>24026700
That's what we really want to say so badly but cannot.
>>
>>24026571
this
>>
>>24026722
No. I'd rather not tell them what room we're in.

We may WANT them to be free from the control of the Dramatae, but for now they're fully engaged in the story. They're unpredictable.
>>
>>24026571
This, minus the room information; instead, tempt fate further by sitting outside to watch the stars, and see if we get company.
>>
>>24026788
>sit outside to watch the starts
>in a JRPG
Oh jesus you KNOW we're going to get company.
>>
>>24026673
You hold out the Caligo Clarus medallion. "Here, a gift from us to you. It might come handy in Dark Places."

The boy sneers at you as he takes it. "Whatever."

"May His Light be with you and light your way through your life and beyond in your Journey."

He rolls his eyes. "Whatever." He closes the door.

"What a prick." Mari says.

"He is rather rude." Lea says. "Also he's very unpleasant to that girl. He should be told how to better behaved."

"I think Lea just said that she wanted to punch someone in the face." Mari says.

"Nah, nah." Peri says. "That's 'I'm going to crush his nuts with a single stomp in Lea-speak."

Lea shakes her head and goes to the room you all rented. The rest of you follow them, and start figuring out who sleeps where.

Mage knocks on the door and comes inside. "They tossed the clock down into the root cellar." He says. "I found it and got it working again. The people seem to be snapping out of it, too. They're none the worse for wear, just a little freaked at how much time they've lost. Also, I didn't feel that wooziness when I came upstairs."

"The sooner we wake up and get back on the road the better." Tricia sighed.
>>
>>24026815
"Whatever."
>>
>>24026815
>clocks are this effective
Is it even possible that the first lantern was a clock? I doubt it.
>>
>>24026835
"Whatever."

The group groans and someone throws a pillow at you.
>>
>>24026839
You know. If it had enough gears maybe. But that's one hell of big clock.
>>
>>24026839
A clock does seem like the embodiment of change, and everything Citadel would hate. But then again, the Lantern wasn't used against Citadel, but against the Dragon.

>>24026862
I'm voting for the tempt-the-RPG-plot option: sit outside and see if the girl wanders out and joins us for a conversation. If not, worst case we go to bed a bit late.
>>
>>24026862
>>24026815
Laugh, go check to see if the room has a balcony. For operation STARSBEWATCHED.

"Well, that's some great work mage. I'd hate to wake up to everybody being all... strange like that."

They do make that chiming sound, and Granny said the bell worked until the Dramatae broke it. A proper clocktower?

>giving the medallion to him

Ugh. What a waste.

Just grab some sleep.
>>
>>24026944
Wait, did we give him OUR medallion? As in our old man's medallion? Because if we did, what the fuck, /tg/? We're getting that shit back right now.
>>
>>24026983
We gave him Lea's.
>>
>>24026983
No, Lea's; she volunteered it, and wasn't as attached to it as we are to ours.

Still dubious, though.
>>
>>24026983
no, we gave him lea's medallion, who was okay to part with it.

I sincerely hope it wasn't of major sentimental value.

We should make extra clarigos.
>>
>>24026907
"Well, that's some great work mage. I'd hate to wake up to everybody being all... strange like that."

There's no balcony in the room, but there is one on the upper floor here, it's a patio that gives a gorgeous look of the Bronze Peak mountain.
>>
>>24026983
I really hoping it was Leas. I still don't get how that one got picked out of the rest options though.
>>
>>24026983
I believe we gave him Lea's, at least that was our intent.
>>
>>24027011
Perfect. Sit outside with Tricia; no sense wasting a view like that it if the girl *doesn't* show.
>>
>>24027011
Let's go out there! Invite tricia and the folks! Heck, I'll do it!

"I think I'm going to go and enjoy the gorgeous patio I found out here. Any of you want to go catch the view?"
>>
>>24026996
>>24026997
>>24027004
>>24027013
Good thing. Cause giving him ANY medallion is of questionable utility, and giving him our father's would be like giving away an artifact.
>>
Is it okay for a paladin to be tricksy?

Because I notice more and more wheels within wheels in her plans as time goes on. Now we're pulling tzeench bullshit like giving an amulet to a guy in the hopes that it comes into play later at a critical time.
>>
>>24027097

It's perfectly fine. A Paladin can do very well with a lot of foresight and the initiative to act on long-term plans.

Lawful Smart Good > Lawful Stupid Good.
>>
>>24027097
To cause the plans of those who spread darkness to crumble inward upon themselves?

I'll allow it.

Lawful Good not Lawful Stupid
>>
>>24027046
"I think I'm going to go and enjoy the gorgeous patio I found out here. Any of you want to go catch the view?"

"Give me a bit," Tricia says. "I'll join you."

You go out and lean against the balcony, taking a deep breath of the calm mountain air. You hear someone walk up behind you.

"Hey, Tri-" You start to say, and then pause.

You're looking into the face of Peace.

And now you can't move your body at all.

"If you scream, Comedy and Tragedy will kill your partners, do you understand?" The Humor says.

You are allowed to nod.
>>
>>24027097
Of course we're tricksy. We're a snake.
We're not going to win this by blindly charging into Citadel and trying to Smite Evil on the palace.
>>
>>24027132
Nod. That's pretty easy to understand.
Damnit, this wasn't the random encounter we wanted!
>>
>>24027132
God damn it why didn't we gtfo when we had the chance.

"Fair enough. So then, what's your business?"

nod.
>>
>>24027176
Let's try NOT antagonising him.
>>
>>24027132
If we find an ideal moment comment that the Lightbringers are lacking in the people skills department.
>>
>>24027132
"You know, that's one of the most startling entrances I've ever seen."
>>
>>24027200
Our continued existence antagonizes it, and if it wanted us dead right now we'd probably be dead.
>>
>>24027176
Holy hell no. Just nod and let him talk.
>>
>>24027162
You nod.

The pressure that's around your mouth is gone.

"So," Peace says. You can't tell anything from the voice, it's one of those calm genderless tones. "I assume you wish to skip the usual banter we save for those two." Peace gestures with his head at the direction of where the Lightbringers are. "So, I will proceed to my questions.

"Are you following the Fifth's plan for widespread genocide in order to perform a ritual that will revive the Dragon Who Was Of Shadow?"
>>
>>24027256

"Not quite. We want to convert Citadel. Transform it, so it doesn't need the Lightbringer sacrifices anymore."
>>
>>24027256
"I'm going to Bronze Peak to talk to a mage about my friend. First I've heard of reviving the Dragon."
>>
>>24027256
"Uh, no. This is the first I've heard of it, and Paladins and genocide don't tend to mix. Why would we want to do *that*?"
>>
>>24027256
"I don't know."
>>
>>24027279
That's...*almost* tempting, if we think the Dramatae aren't blindly loyal to Citadel's current wishes, and instead just want to satisfy it to keep the world turning another day.
>>
>>24027256
Honestly cock an eyebrow because the fuck?

"I wasn't aware of any such plan, but had I been, you can be sure I'd have shot that right down."
>>
>>24027256
"No. We're still trying to confirm whether or not the dragon who was of shadow is still alive. It helps to know that you think it's dead."
>>
>>24027283
I like this. We are not lying and I'm sure they have a spell that detects truth on all of us.
>>
>>24027279
"Not quite. We want to convert Citadel. Transform it, so it doesn't need the Lightbringer sacrifices anymore."

Peace nods. "Do you possess any of the shards of the Great Shadow, or have any of the Black Phoenix Feathers?"
>>
>>24027342
"I have... some coins of the First Lantern?"
>>
>>24027342
"Not a clue what either of those are. Care to elaborate?"
>>
>>24027256
You're a smart... creature. You've been observing me. Do I REALLY strike you as the type to support "widespread genocide", for any reason?
>>
>>24027357
Definitely not this. Keep that secret as long as possible.
>>
>>24027342
"Never even heard of them before, care to tell me about them?"
>>
>>24027342
I'm 90% positive this guy is lying to trick us into distrusting The Fifth.
>>
>>24027342
"I don't think so. What do they look like?"
>>
>>24027342
Genuine look of confusion.
>>
>>24027374
I like this. The first time we responded with a statement; let's respond with a question and see if Peace outright ignores it or says something.
>>
>>24027357
Not this. Be cooperative in tone but not stupidly helpful to them. Let them give us as much information as they're willing before we answer.
>>
>>24027377
Probably.
But I distrust the fifth anyway. And so does Granny.
>>
>>24027377
Yeah, he might be trying to toss out a thousand MacGuffins to keep us busy, playing to his plot-making strengths. We're not biting on his plot hooks.
>>
>>24027342

"Not a clue what either of those are. Care to elaborate?"

Peace just pauses as they examine your face. "Please know that if you lie to me, and we find them, they will be destroyed. I have already destroyed other pieces, so know that those methods are pointless."

"Do you wish to uproot the current Newgate family and place Prince Oppel, Princess Coral, or Prince Errol on the throne?"
>>
No.
>>
>>24027486

...no. Why? Why would you even ask?
>>
>>24027486
"No, I don't even know any of those people."

This is true. We also plan on putting Itzak there but don't mention it.

>>
>>24027486

This might actually make an interesting point to Peace.
>>
>>24027486
No, no, and no.

Honestly, you seem to have way more ideas about what I should be doing with my time than I do.
>>
>>24027513
"No, I don't even know any of those people."

Another pause. "You dalliances with Prince Itzak were upsetting, however with him busy in Stone Hall, his disruptive presence will no longer cause the Newgates to squabble or possibly fracture. We do not wish a child puppet, or a sociopath upon the shining throne." Peace says.

Peace then reaches into your armor and feels around for the inner pocket and takes out the Lantern coin. Peace looks at it for a moment. "Hmm." He returns it to your pocket.

"Thank you for your cooperation." Peace says. "Please do not antagonize the Lightbringers further, or we will kill you. Do you understand?"
>>
>>24027613
"We don't wish to antagonize them. Would you object to us helping them?"
>>
>>24027613

We know exactly how he got that way; we saw him break, in our dreams. Losing three close friends and wanting to keep the love of your life alive would do that to you, and a gruff attitude seems like the least of the damage.
>>
>>24027613
"I was not trying to antagonize them, just trying to be friendly."

"However, we will not turn them away should they come to us for advice."
>>
if we want to be cheeky we could ask for our father's sword back.
>>
>>24027700
Heh. "Since you seem so unbothered by that coin, I don't suppose I could have a certain sword or spear back, then?"
>>
>>24027626
"We don't wish to antagonize them. Would you object to us helping them?"

"Yes." Peace says.

"To be fair, I was just trying to have a friendly chat with them. If anybody was being antagonistic it was your Lightbringer. You ought to teach him some manners."

"No." Peace says.

"Alright, it's fine by me. The boy didn't seem particularly sociable, anyway."

"That is of no importance." Peace says. "Good night, Paladin."

Peace snaps their fingers, and you slump to the ground asleep.

You awake in a pile with the other Dawnchasers.

"Mmph..." Mage looks up to see all the girls in their night clothes lying next to him, on top of him, or under him (in your tail's case). "Oh, this dream..." He smiles. "Alright ladies, go ahead."
>>
>>24027700
Ha. We should, but do we want to tip him off like that? I mean there is chance he doesn't know. Small. Still a chance.
>>
>>24027626
We're not becoming lightbringers, helping them only helps them on their way to becoming sacrifices.
>>
>>24027613
I hardly count saying "hello" as "antagonistic", but sure. If that's out-of-bounds, so be it.

Now would you please leave my friends and me in peace for like five fucking minutes?
>>
>>24027700
I don't even want to know what he would ask for in return.
>>
>>24027700
Bad idea. It served father poorly and what we have of him which we keep with us is his love, not some tool he used to shed blood in a failed shadow war. Besides, to say that would show how much we know.

"In your dreams, brother." Then, "I don't suppose anyone else just had a really unpleasant meeting with one of the Dramatae?"
>>
>>24027724
"Not the time, kiddo. We have a lot of laying low to do. Let's hit the bricks. Pack your shit up, we'll eat on the road."

"What?" Mage blinks.

"Gah!" Pei/Mari wake up. "Everyone! Run the Dramatae have..." She looks around, at the room you've rented and the mass of people she's with. "Dumped us all on the floor."

You all untangle yourselves and get back upright.

"Okay, so..." Tricia says. "What I remember happening is those two freaks coming into the room, freezing us all, and then asking us weird questions, then making us fall asleep."

"Same." Peri/Mari say.

"Yeah." Mage says.

"I remember that too." Lea says.
>>
"I was just talking to Peace, but yeah weird questions."

This
>>
>>24027826

Nope. We leave calmly, quietly, like nothing happened. We draw no attention to ourselves. Allowing ourselves or our cohort to panic solves nothing.
>>
>>24027852
I had the third one do the same. What did they ask you?
>>
>>24027852
"I also remember being jumped by that one extremely spooky guy who shot me with a crossbow once.

Yeah, we'd really like to get ahead of the Lightbringers, and see if we can spoil their next quest too.
>>
>>24027852
I agree, lets get on the road. Then comapre notes. Basically exchange what questions they ask, get opinions and whether Mari or Lea has heard of any of these things. In any case we are not going to pursue them. We have our own quests.
>>
>>24027905
That and going against them is clearly a curb stomp at this point.

>>
>>24027967
Nice.

Oh, on a vaguely related note:
>>24027852
Once we get on the road again, I think we want Mage to start researching some form of magical sending. Long-distance messaging seems highly useful; we'd like to stay in contact with Granny, Isen and Tara, Barney, Gregory and Sophie, Avery...
>>
>>24027967
I wonder if anyone has made any. If not might want to get Barney on that. Even if it doesn't like we think it will, they're still fuck awesome to have.
>>
>>24027967
Pocketwatches are for ENHANCING magic.
>>
>>24027876
"Same with me.

"Let's get out of here before anything else happens. We'll talk on the road." You say.

"Agreed." The group says. You all gather up your things, and head out for the stables.

"The Lightbringers are gone." Mage says, pointing at the open door.

Peri runs inside to take a quick look and then comes out with a small note. "This was on the floor."

Paladin Serpent,
I'm sorry, he's usually like that, failing at Stone Hall, and then having someone else succeed for him upset him. Thank you for the beautiful medallion, he tried to throw it away, but I kept it. It'll be our secret. Safe travels, and may His Light be with you.
----
And you can't read the signature but it must be the girl's.

You hook up Lightmare, after a night like that you need a chuckle, and the wagon takes off once more.

After about ten minutes everyone starts talking at once. Peri/Mari whistles through her fingers. "Oi! Okay, one at a time! First thing, Ssen, you were the one outside, what questions did they ask you?"

Ah, good, it might do some good after all.

>And you can't read the signature but it must be the girl's.

Even a completely unreadable scrawl isn't information-free; can we try to puzzle *something* out of it, or is it the signature of someone who doesn't bother actually making more than a squiggle?

> After about ten minutes everyone starts talking at once. Peri/Mari whistles through her fingers. "Oi! Okay, one at a time! First thing, Ssen, you were the one outside, what questions did they ask you?"

Come to think of it, can we really be sure that Granny and the Fifth aren't just using us for their own ends? They appear to be benevolent for now, but have they given us a reason to trust them completely?
>>
>>24028192
nope, none at all. We don't trust them completely.

But we greatly admire granny, traitor or not.
>>
>>24028192
Granny I trust more than the Fifth. Fifth really hasn't given us ... anything as far as I remember.
>>
>>24028192
I have a very hard time believing that of Granny. The Fifth did seem somewhat morally ambiguous, and possibly playing us, but it provided us with a lead in Bronze Peak where we wanted to go anyway, and his information fit with the Lantern coins, so we might as well go with that for now in the absence of more useful information.

Of course, judging by the past uses of them, it could also turn out that the Lantern coins and the whole history behind them are *all* fakes designed as distractions no more real than the "shards of the Great Shadow" and the "Black Phoenix Feathers". This story is so meta that it's hard to trust anything we here. And I love it for that.
>>
>>24028077
You bow your head, and the others do the same. "May evil's eyes see only His Light, and may their ears hear only the Teachings."

"Amen."

"Alright, it was Peace, the one who shot me in Citadel who jumped me. And our conversation was about as pleasant as yours it seems. It seemed to have a million crazy ideas about what it thought we might be doing...

"In no particular order, they asked whether I had pieces of the dragon of shadows or some kind of dark phoenix. They asked if I was going to help one of three princes onto the throne, all of whose names escape me at the moment. They asked if I was trying to commit genocide or revive the dark dragon. And he also threatened me and you guys a lot, and that was it. "

The others nod. "That's what the other two asked us. They also laid it on pretty thick about how the Fifth was a bad guy and that stopping Citadel will cause a genocide."

"Oh, hang on." You take out the coin, and search in your pocket...nothing. You hand it to Mage. "He took a look at this and gave it back, did he leave any surprises?"

Mage takes the coin and concentrates for a bit, then he shakes his head. "Nothing that I can sense, but those bastards use magic that's leaps and bounds beyond my stuff." He hands the coin back. "So, I'd be careful anyway."

"Well, what about Ghoul magic, can you pick up and traces of Peace's body or something?"

Mage waves his staff, and then shakes his head. "Zilch."

"Alright, worth a shot." You say as you put the coin back into place. "Are we missing anything?" You ask.

A quick check shows that everything is there and in one piece.

"So...are they trying to freak us out, setting us up, or trying to send us down a wrong path?" Peri asks.

"Or maybe they don't view us significant enough to be a threat." Mari says.
>>
>>24028265
They've done a damned good job of keeping their motives and the extent of their knowledge about us a mystery thus far. There's truly little concrete we can know about them until we find out from a third party.
>>
>>24028265
"Little of both would be my guess. They would want us questioning what were doing to delay us long enough for the Lightbringers to finish off their mission. Right now we just need keep forging ahead with our plans. It centrally does add more things to look up though."
>>
>>24028318
Forgot quotation marks. That's my dialogue suggestion.
>>
>>24028265
"So far, I'm inclined to believe they're feeding us misinformation the same way they play with the Lightbringers. It couldn't hurt to look up some of the things they mentioned, but I think we want to stick with our plan for now. That they mentioned the Dragon is interesting, given the previous mention of the Human Daughter raised by the Dragon, but I don't think we should immediately start distrusting the Fifth just because Peace claims he has some kind of genocidal plan. Let's not go running off and doing things based on what the Dramatae say; we're not Lightbringers."
>>
>>24028324
>They would want us questioning what were doing to delay us long enough for the Lightbringers to finish off their mission.

Indeed; I think we got more useful information when the Lightbringer boy said that they were supposed to liberate Stone Hall and such.
>>
>>24028359
I think we should perhaps look into what those "markings" she mentioned were.

The ones that prophesized them being lightbringers.
>>

>gets all the credit
>actively tries to steal your quests

This game is bullshit
>>
in the end this is why we want to talk to the Old One. Hes a valid third party that might be able to give us information we can use.
>>
>>24028419
yep. that's the entire reason. We want as many ancient sources as we can find.
>>
>>24028389
Consider the history of candidates for lightbringers: Gullible-as-fuck teenagers

The "marking" is probably just pubic hair ffs. I doubt it'd take more to convince most dumbass, backwater kids.
>>
>>24028438
I thought it was implied that it was like, a carved wall somewhere. That we could go and look at to predict the steps of their quest.
>>
>>24028459
Ah I remember that, I thought some mention of a birthmark, etc. was mae that I'd forgotten. It's so cliche, I wouldn't put it past the dramatae.
>>
>>24028459
We don't know that the wall in question prophesizes anything more than them being Lightbringers. "It's dangerous to go alone, take this." We also have next to no information to allow us to find it or the old sage.
>>
the old sage was probably Rage
>>
>>24028497
Was actually thinking that.
>>
>>24028459
Please. It's the same wall every lightbringer sees. The Humors just go TIME FOR A SACRIFICE and then arrange matters so that their lives match the story.
>>
>>24028338

Let's not go running off and doing things based on what the Dramatae say; we're not Lightbringers." You say.

"Agreed." The group says.

Lightmare speeds through the mountain passes, and finally, you reach the great bronze doors to the city within the mountain. There's a little foot traffic in and out, and a small hawker's market at the great steps.

Mage lets out a low whistle as Peri hooks up Lightmare to the long term stabling post. "That's impressive, what age was this made in, Mari?"

"It pre-dates Citadel actually." Mari says. "Back then of course, the dwarves were an extremely insular culture, a few even couldn't stand full daylight, their eyes and skin were so sensitive."

"Really? Any more like that these days?" Tricia asks.

"No, Seven Ages of Citadel, and a lot of cross-breeding with humans have smashed those traits to ribbons." Mari sighs. "Or so they say, but these days, anything that makes races 'better' has me looking at the shadows." She shakes her head. "This is so messed up, why can't Citadel just be regularly evil and just want to eat people?"

"It does." Lea says.

"You know what I mean." Tricia sighs.

The guard at the door is an Occuli dwarf, and he's just staring open mouthed at you as you and the Dawnchasers approach.
>>
>>24028580
>"BEHOLD, YOUNG ADVENTURER, THE REFRIGERATOR MAGNETS OF ANCIENT PROPHECY!"
>>
>>24028590
Wave at the dwarf. We've not had an actual fan in like... When was the last time we had a fan? Last time I remember was those girls dressing as us in purple sands.
>>
>>24028590
> Occuli dwarf

What's a typical greeting of the Light? I'm trying to come up with something less stereotypically over the top than "May the Light shine upon our meeting."
>>
>>24028590
Greet the fellow politely. Ask that you may enter the city.

I think the first person we shall seek out is Tallow.
>>
>>24028628
>fan
Open-mouthed shock could go either way.
>>
>>24028628
>>24028590
In fact, wave at the dwarf and then, when we get closer, use words to greet him! Two hit social combo!

"Hello there, we're looking to enter the city. Is there any customs check, or are we free to head in?"
>>
>>24028590
>>24028647
This plus asking if there's any guides looking to be hired for a day or two.

Thinking we should hit up the Mage guild here. Or whatever they're called.
>>
>>24028664
That was one of our primary goals in coming here: we wanted to check about Mari and Peri.
>>
>>24028685
Well I mean more first over other places/people. Seems the people in these places tend to have their head on straight, for the most part. We could get a lot useful info in one run.
>>
>>24028628
You wave at the dwarf. He just opens the smaller door within the giant one, and waves you through. There's some protest behind you, as you didn't have to go through processing, or show paperwork or money, but there's the words 'Paladin' and 'Hero' and 'Shut up, and get to the back of the line. Too bad, you jumped out.' behind you.

Bronze Peak within is...almost a carbon copy of First Wood, Purple Sands, or White Tree. The layout is the same. Here are the guilds, here is the arena, here is the market, here is the Traveler's Tavern. The flavor this time is underground and sparkling gems with glowing fungus in the cave roof far above. The entire place glows a light blue, and you see people moving in the city, going into and out of the buildings that look like they grew out of the stone. Citadel's influence, there's no place like home...except for everywhere else.

"So, we looking for this Sandover creep, this Tallow guy that Dad mentioned, or are we going straight into a Dragon hunt?" Tricia asks.
>>
>>24028710
Peri/Mari clear their throats. "We were sort of here for me, remember? I know there's some distractions, but we'd like to know if our brains are going to melt any time soon."
>>
>>24028709
Yeah, and we already have an introduction to them.
>>
>>24028723
>Peri/Mari clear their throats. "We were sort of here for me, remember? I know there's some distractions, but we'd like to know if our brains are going to melt any time soon."

"Any more than they already have, you mean? But yeah, let's track down the Mages here."
>>
>>24028710
"First, the Mage's Guild, I want to make sure Peri and Mari are ok and wont suffer any long term consequences from sharing the same everything."
>>
>>24028723
"Yep, first is that. Also, they might have some info on the rest of stuff we want to check out. Maybe. Well ... one can hope at least."
>>
>>24028723
"Well, obviously, first thing's first. Thank you, peri and meri. And we can grill the wizards about our various distractions."
>>
i wonder if pursuing the line of questions in any mannger will trigger a trap. Think about it... all those plot hooks sound well. like plot hooks genocide. The Black Phoenix. The Shards of the Dragon. Hell even the prince and princesses names. Oppell Opal. Coral, Errol is the only slightly original name.
>>
>>24028751
"Yep, first is that. Also, they might have some info on the rest of stuff we want to check out. Maybe. Well ... one can hope at least."

You head through the town towards the Mage Guild. As you see it at the end of a street, Lea taps you on the shoulder, and points down a street.

SANDOVER'S 'FOREVER BEAUTIFUL' COMPANIONS!
NEVER BE ALONE AGAIN!
RENT TO OWN!
ALL SHAPES, ALL COLORS, ALL RACES!
ASK US ABOUT OUR GROUP BARGAINS!

"That can't be a good sign." Mage mutters.

"At least Barney's signs know they're tacky." Tricia sighs.
>>
Well at least we know where he is.
>>
>>24028847
Well, we've found Sandover, and he's into something sleazy. Not that shocking, if the Dramatae were thinking of recruiting him.
>>
>>24028847
Ignore it for now and head into the Mage Guild; we'll come back later, and we might ask them about their nearby neighbors among many other questions. But we *just* said Peri and Mari were our priority; let's not forget that so quickly.
>>
>>24028847
"Okay, should I be hoping he's selling really creepy dolls and not slaves, or that the dolls are made of wood and stuff and not... dead slaves?"
>>

"I think we found Sandover so that's one thing off the list. Come on lets keep going we can deal with him later."

"Well at least we know where he is." You say.

"Right, one crisis at a time." Peri/Mari say as they push their way into the Mage Collective. She's waving the letter of introduction. "Hello? Is anyone here? We kinda need to talk to the old guys."

An old man enters the foyer. "Is there something I can hel-"

"Here." Peri/Mari hand him the letter. "You got word I was coming. Help me." She says.

"Hmmm, oh...oh yes...alright. Please follow me." He says. "We'll begin your examination, and we think we have recreated the apparatus that caused your situation, or at least a close approximation. We'll need you to check to see if it's creating a similar effect. Then we can see what our options are, once we know exactly what happened."

"Great, can my friends come with?" She points at the group.

"Umm...all those...people...are your friends?"

"Yes. They are." Peri/Mari say.

"Well," He clears his throat. "They're more than welcome to come, but I'm afraid it's going to mostly be a lot of sitting around as we examine how your mind aura resonate your...*He goes into a long technical magic jargon here that Mage even has trouble following, you satisfy the old man by nodding occasionally, finally he returns to the Citadel Tongue* and so you'll just be watching you sit in a chair, us asking if things tingle or not."

"Ugh, sounds like my first examination." Peri/Mari groan.

"It is very similar, yes." He shrugs. "We don't wish to rush this, for reasons I'm sure you appreciate."

"Yeah, yeah. I get it." She sighs. "Okay guys, I'm cool if you want to take off or something while we wait."

"We had some questions actually." Tricia says.

"I'll get someone to come who can help you, in the mean time..." He gestures. "This way miss, and miss." He laughs.

"You think up that joke all on your own?" Peri/Mari say as they head off.

About five minutes later, a younger acolyte comes up to you. "Grand Caster said I was to be at your disposal, regarding questions. I'm Ewing." He bows
>>
hmm did Mage sell that travel spell he made? We could also ask if the rumors of a dragon slumbering somewhere nearby is true. Myabe also ask about Sandover, I bet this guy probably knows all about those 'beautiful companions.'
>>
>>24028975
"Hello there Ewing, I'm Ssen, this is Tricia, mage, and lea. We'd like to talk and see if you can answer any questions about your town we happen to come up with. For instance: Have you been to the artificer's guild? Where is it?"

have this conversation while you find a seat somewhere in the lobby or something. While everyone else finds a seat. They don't make lamia chairs.
>>
>>24028975
Well lets ask first if they have knowledge on whereabouts of Tallow, which they most likely don't. Also, ask who would have such info.

Then the dragon. Any and all info about. Legends, myths, locations, and such. I'm hoping being mage guild they have some info about a bloody dragon.
>>
>>24028975
After the times we've had recently, I'm feeling extra paranoid. Perhaps we should make sure at least one person *does* stay with Peri/Mari? Mage might at least learn something; perhaps he should follow.

> About five minutes later, a younger acolyte comes up to you. "Grand Caster said I was to be at your disposal, regarding questions. I'm Ewing." He bows

"Ah, thank you; we're chasing down quite a number of things at the moment, and we've got a lot more questions than answers, on everything from ancient history to finding our way around Bronze Peak."

>>24029012
Introductions would be good, definitely.

As for questions:
"To start with, do you happen to have any records of the history of Citadel, the Dragon, and the First Lantern? Especially the time when the Dragon was defeated, and what happened afterward?"

"Do you know anything about your nearby neighbor, Sandoval? We heard his name come up before, and it looks like he's got some kind of shady business going on here."

Later on, when we've talked to him for a while, show him the lantern coin and ask him if he's seen anything like it, or records of things like it.
>>
>>24029007
> hmm did Mage sell that travel spell he made? We could also ask if the rumors of a dragon slumbering somewhere nearby is true. Myabe also ask about Sandover, I bet this guy probably knows all about those 'beautiful companions.'

This would also be a good place to see if we can pick up some common spells that Mage doesn't know but that are relatively easy to learn.
>>
>>24029012
"Hello there Ewing, I'm Ssen, this is Tricia, mage, and lea. We'd like to talk and see if you can answer any questions about your town we happen to come up with. For instance: Have you been to the artificer's guild? Where is it?"

"It's next to the conclave." Ewing says as he leads you to a small sitting room. The others are in chairs and you're comfortable in your spot. Tea is brought out, and Ewing fumbles around with it. The kid is obviously just entering puberty and being around three of the most dangerous, and well known, women in Citadel Kingdom is wrecking havoc with his poor little brain. It's kind of amusing.

"Do you know anything about a man named 'Tallow?' We're looking for him." You ask.

"Umm, maybe...there's a guy who owns a blue-smoke cafe, well...I think he owns it, but mostly he just sits there in the haze." He looks at your blank faces. "Blue-Smoke is a smoke that comes off of a type of fungus here, it only grows in Bronze Peak, and shrivels in daylight, but it has a calming effect on people. So we have cafes that regulate the sale and make sure that it's safe."

"So it's like opium." Lea says.

"Oh, no...kinda, but much safer." Ewing says. "Not that, I would know, you have to be older to smoke it." He tries and fails to look innocent.

"Do you happen to have any records of the history of Citadel, the Dragon, and the First Lantern? Especially the time when the Dragon was defeated, and what happened afterward?"

"No, we don't really bother with that stuff here, Bronze Peak is First In Innovation! As the older ones say." He sighs. "The Conclave has the library, I suppose. As for Dragons, I think there's Crazy Ted's Dragon hunts...if you don't mind wasting 20 gold to wander around in the mountains for a day and have a disappointing lunch at the Bear Shrine."

"Do you know anything about your nearby neighbor, Sandoval? We heard his name come up before, and it looks like he's got some kind of shady business going on here."

(More coming)
>>
So guys, idea.
We should really look into the possibility of starting the industrial revolution in Stone Hall. Seriously, what does Citadel hate more than change? Change that steals its worshipers, thats what. People will flock to the city like moths to a lantern, and while we're at it, we can attempt to make it the center of worship for His Light, using the printing machine to print mass copies of His Text.

Also, public school systems.
>>
>>24029109
The Conclave sounds like a good next stop for some of the historical research.

OK, we're probably not going to get any historical records out of these folks. What other paths could we go down? We just recently got stomped *hard* by some magic users; perhaps we could find out more about that.

"What different magical means are there to hold someone in place, or put them to sleep? And what could you do to defend yourself against things like that, or much stronger magic?"
>>
>>24029122
I say we should just improve quality of life, education, and religious service. If the city is ready for industrial revolution, it will happen.
>>
>>24029109
Ewing blushes. "It's not illegal. Mr. Sandover sells..." He fidgets and looks away. "Well, you see...you may have to see for yourself. I'm not really supposed to talk about it, or think about it, or look at that place, or my mother will kill me." He sighs.

"My brother, Mage here," You gesture to Mage.

"Your name is Mage?" Ewing asks. "Seriously? Also, he's your brother?"

"Names aren't our forte." You snap. "Also, YES, he IS my brother."

"I've come up with a few, rather brilliant, spells. My sister," Mage shakes his head at the sound of that word. "My sister got me thinking that I might want to sell them, or trade them for study into your 'innovations.' Is there someone I can talk to?"

"The Caster council, but they're busy with your friend at the moment."

"So, do you know anything about Dragons, here?" You ask.

Ewing shrugs. "Big, powerful, destructive, and they horde shiny things, sleep a lot, and play with their food. One of the wizards equated them to giant scaled, winged, cats. There's really not much to tell about them, last Dragon was killed around 30 or 40 years ago by the Paladins. Now they're just a name used for a tourist trap.

"Any more questions?"
>>
>>24029160
"What do you know about the Phoenix Empire?"
>>
>>24029178
meh we know a princess from there. If we want to know more just ask her.
>>
>>24029160
"No, that's all. Thank you for your time."

Doesn't seem like the library is going to be any good for us, since I'm sure it got whitewashed by Citadel.

Seems like our only courses of action are either check out Sandover's "store" or the blue-smoke cafe.
>>
Lets head to Tallow next.
>>
>>24029160
"Well, regardless of if I have more questions, I DO have more time. So...

What do you do here? You're a student, or assistant? Also, any popular attractions you've not mentioned?"
>>
>>24029178
I kind of wish that the Princess was here. We could ask her about that Black Pheonix thing...I get the feeling that its the Empire's version of the Dragon.

Speaking of the Dragon, I -really- don't think we should trust the Fifth. I've had suspicions for a while, but Peace clinched it. He's the remnants of the Dragon. After all, he DID say that he was a 'land spirit' from before the Citadel, but refused to name himself...
>>
>>24029153
"What different magical means are there to hold someone in place, or put them to sleep? And what could you do to defend yourself against things like that, or much stronger magic?"

"Mmm, depends. Spells can be broken in two ways, you can dispell them or you can reverse them."

"Okay, I know what dispell is," Mage says. "That's when you pump in more power to breaking the spell, than it takes to cast the spell. But I've never heard of reversing."

"Because it's not well known or as easily used." Ewing says. "Reversing a spell is where a person seizes control over a person's magic and instead of breaking control, turns it around. So in your case, you can either dispel and break free, or you reverse it and inflict the hold spell upon the caster."

"Well, how do you do it?" Tricia asks.

"That's the tricky part, it's a True Name magic. You need the name of the caster, the name of the spell, and if the caster has an artifact or a staff or a wand or whatever, you need to gain control over it for a moment. Then at that point, boom, the mage's power is now yours and they're held prisoner by their own power. It sounds simple..."

"Not really." Tricia mutters.

"But it's difficult to pull off, none the less. So most people go for the easier dispel method."
>>
>>24029203
i suspect the same thing... however I'm givinghim the chance that he really is reformed from the old days.
>>
>>24029203
of course he's the remnant of the dragon. I am dealing with him exactly as I would deal with the devil- extensively in as many ways as possible while still being able to foil or protect myself from him, while considering I may need to destroy him some day if I am able.

Thanks for running an awesome quest, Echo! Citadel and the Dramatae ain't got nothin' on your storytelling and plot-weaving, and fortunately you use it for good rather than for "good".

It's incredibly impressive to have sessions this long; having long sessions less often seems preferable to short ones more often, because we build up more momentum as we go. And I'm actually happy to hear the quest will move later in the evening; now I won't miss the start of it. (And just before a weekend, too!)

That is a good plan except the thread will always die by the time you sleep because we are CRAZY ACTIVE and get into autosage inside of like 3 minutes.

I look forward to lamiathon weekend, and will restructure my entertainment scheduling accordingly.

er, by the time you wake up, perhaps not the time you sleep.

Tossing out a few more questions for next time:

Does magical truth detection exist? How accurate is it, can it be fooled, and how?

Any magical means of permanently enhancing armor or weapons?

Any good books or information on spell creation that Mage could look into?

Can you recommend a good blacksmith, especially one who can work with quicksilver or similar materials?

Are there any Paladins in Bronze Peak that we could meet?

And, the open-ended quest hook: Any problems around these parts, anything in Bronze Peak that we could help with?

I still am up for asking about his reccomendations on tourist sites too.

Also those damn humors. Scary motherfuckers. I actually jumped when I read it was a humor and not tricia.

>There's really not much to tell about them, last Dragon was killed around 30 or 40 years ago by the Paladins.

That's a story we should hear, too.

This one is a long shot, but it can't hurt to ask: "Is there any way to find out what form something used to have? For instance, if you melted down a metal object and turned it into a coin, could you detect what it was before it was melted?"

I would like to know this.

Also: quicksilver. Give us. Give us so much.

wait, 30-40 years... could that have been Father and his friends before they discovered Citadel and its influence on the world?
>>
>>24029558
certainly. Dad's group was way more stab oriented than ours, which is more of a diplomancer corps.

Also, since I didn't comment on it at the time-
