He hasn't even made it halfway across the room before he suddenly exclaims “Oh, I almost forgot!” He reaches into his pocket, pulls out a crumpled piece of paper, and hands it to your father. “The Scholomance isn't exactly located in this reality. The main entrance is in a cave in Sibiu. That paper can tell you some of the easier ways to get there.”

As you and your family continue to stare at him in disbelief, he chuckles and walks right into the wall. As his body touches the wall, it seems to flow around him like liquid and in an instant he has passed through it.

You're Eztli Venkman, aspiring Mexican bloodmage.

Every day since you learned about Scholomance has been dedicated to learning magic. Simple alchemy came naturally to you, and soon you picked up the basics of conjuration.

As you experimented more and more, you came to the realization that working blood into your spells seemed to make them easier. Whether it was simply transmuting some poor animal into a rock or using summoning circles drawn in blood to bind minor elementals, it always seemed to just come naturally.

Tomorrow morning you're leaving your family for Scholomance. You feel somewhat nervous, but at the same time you're excited for what's to come.

When you looked at that paper the mage gave your father, the easiest way to travel seemed to be a portal located in a cenote a couple dozen km away. At least this way you won't have to take a plane.

You start packing for the trip tomorrow, might as well get it out of the way now, right?

You grab a stack of notebooks, your phone, laptop, a few changes of clothes, and some bottles of blood. You take care to wrap your belongings up in plastic so that they doesn't get ruined by water.

As you look at the bottles you realize that this won't last for very long and you'll need to find a new source soon.

After all, it's not like you can just pop into the butcher's down the street when you're half a world away and you don't exactly want to take to cutting yourself to perform spells.

With your bags packed, you lay down and get some rest. "I'm going to need it", you say to yourself.

When you wake up in the morning your parents are watching you from the doorway. You haven't exactly made much of an effort to hide your magical studies from them, and you suspect the only reason they haven't tried stop you is the fear of another man walking through their walls.

Despite their worry, both of them force a smile and wish you a good morning. Breakfast is uneventful; it's like they're trying to pretend that this is just another normal day. That you aren't leaving for a year. When you finish your bacon you stand up and ask your dad if he'll drive you to the cenote. He agrees.

The car ride is fairly silent, and it's going to be another hour or two before you get there. Do you want to do anything for the remainder of the ride?

You stand warily overlooking the pit. You toss a small pebble in to gauge the depth, but it's no use. After a couple of cm the water becomes too black to make anything out.

You pick up your bag with your left hand and sling it over your shoulder. You turn around to face your dad, your back to the cenote. As he nods you throw up your right arm for a Nazi salute and jump into the air and proceed to jump backwards into the pit.

You land flat on your back, the impact creating a resounding smack, and slowly start to sink into the water. As you sink you snicker internally over the look of mild shock on your dad's face.

You're not sure just how far down you are before you start to feel it. It starts as a mild flowing sensation, but soon it feels like your getting shot out of a giant fire hose.

The next thing you know, your absolutely drenched and lying face-down in the middle of a mountain road. You can see a bus coming up towards you from further down on the mountain. You take a look in the other direction and you can see a crack in the mountainside. It looks like some faint light is coming from within.

You decide to make your way towards the crack, after all, the bus should be rolling by in a few minutes anyway. If the crack turns out to be nothing, you can wave it down.

After a couple minutes of walking uphill you reach the crack. By now you're starting to get a bit chilly, but you shrug it off. Peeking your head into the crack, you find that it continues on for quite a ways.

Stumbling around in the dim light, you work your way towards the other end. About halfway through you start to hear something. Humming maybe? Whatever it is, it's getting louder now.

Once you finally walk out the other end you find yourself in a massive cavern. Looking around you notice all the different styles of buildings. It seems that architecture from all over the world has been snatched up and stuck down at random.

That's when you notice that the humming's stopped. You can see an old woman sitting at a table and staring at you. After a couple seconds of silence she yells, "Oi! Ya jus' ganna stan' thee like a block or what?"

As you look around it's pretty obvious that most of these buildings are abandoned, or at least, they don't have any occupants that give a damn about the condition.

As you walk into the structure, you pass several groups of students, all of whom look to be a couple years older than yourself. None of them make any effort to come talk to you, although you notice that a couple of them staring at you from the time you came within their field of vision to the time you stepped through the doors.

You quickly go to find your room. It only took a couple minutes. You look around the room taking note of the contents. Two small beds, two desks, a toilet, and a sink. For some reason you have a window that opens to reveal a wall. You sit down on one of the beds and set down your bags. Your roommate hasn't shown up yet.

You take a look at your phone. It's 9:00pm. What do?

Continuing further, you find a man with a clipboard checking one of the empty rooms. At the same time you hear the shuffle of feet and some hushed voices start to intrude on the silence that had permeated the air since you arrived at the dorms.

"No, sorry. And good luck to the person that tries to make one. For the most part, Scholomance is constantly growing and shifting. New buildings are commonly created, ported in, or stuffed into dimensional pockets. The central plaza area is where all of your classes will be held for the first couple years. Library's there too."

As you thank him, people begin to file through the halls. A few of them are knocking on locked doors, although most of them just go on into the rooms themselves having arrived before their roommate.

You can hear talking outside, so you look out of one of the windows in the hall. You can see the some older students talking to a few of the new arrivals. The group that was eyeing you isn't talking to any of them, though.

"Yeah, sometimes student will set up traps in the dorms. Lots of different reasons, some want to test out their new home defense system on someone unsuspecting. Other times students will set them up as some kind of revenge against future students when they fail out."

"Well thanks, then", you tell him. He nods and goes back to scribbling on the clipboard.

You decide to go talk to the older students you saw earlier. Maybe they'll have some information. When you walk through the door they instantly focus their attention on you.

I'm in central standard time, so that's an hour behind server time.

I get out of classes around 2pm on Mon + Weds and 3pm on Tues + Thurs.

I was thinking I'd run it starting about 4:00pm my time, 5:00pm server time (I think that's 17:00) most days. Maybe start sooner on Fri and weekends.
