You and Lotus make your way to the arena where the announcer lays some flattering promises about you on the crowd.

"Aaaaaaaand in this corner, the three man team making their way into the arena now. The saviors of love and justice, the one, the only, teeeeeaaaaaammmmmm Deevon!" He shouts making you raise your eyebrows in suprise.

In the middle of the group is the same old Deevon, long bangs, annoying outfit, cocksure attitude which makes you want to hit him, but he seems to have changed his team members. One of them is wearing an overly frilly white dress and waving around a want with a heart on top. She has red hair and does a quick dance which involves twirling her wand around and striking a pose, with one leg up one eye closed, her tongue sticking out, and looking through her index and middle fingers.

"Here she is! Magical Girl Ruri-chan here to protect the hopes and loves of girls everywhere! Maryokoooo!" She shouts.

On Deevon's other side is a character similar to Durga's, a cat girl minus the muscles and scars. she is wearing a sailor uniform and trips as she walks into the ring. You are about to let it go when she opens her mouth.

"Nyaaa, mimi-chan fell~"

You look at Lotus who seems to be at a bit of a loss.

"It doesn't matter! You are gunna pay for looking down on us! We made it this far! And After we take you down, we will take down Mania and make her come back to our side. Prepare yourself Chen! Your sneaky tactics won't work this time!" He shouts pulling out his gun.

Lotus gives a quick nod while pulling out her sword and getting ready to charge.

Your provocation seems to have worked as the two of them charge you quickly, Mimi yelling "Nya!" With Deevon seemingly just grunting in a effort of confirm his own sexuality.

As Lotus jumps to slash at the Magical girl you hear her shout at you. "Stupid Chen! Deevon-oniichan was brainwashed by the Dark Empire in order to hurt people and stop love from getting in their way. But my little sister powers awakened and broke his mind free from their evil hold which-" She seems to continue on a very detailed and long winded plot, but you can't focus as the cat girl scores a good hit on you which is followed up by Deevon trying to put a round in your head.

You roll to the side and try to mix in some of the attack magic you have been unlocking. Shouting 'Gan Bolg!' A spike of earth breaks from the ground and scores a hit on Deevon, but Mimi casually dodges to the side.

You throw out a quick buff and glance to see if Lotus is alright and see her dodging and blocking a staggering number of fire-balls from Ruri.

"-from the planet Arithnotan which is hidden behind the moon, where love is made from hope and spread to the hearts of all girls, the Dark Empire-" She is still going on then.

You charge into the middle of them and begin slashing at the pair of them while spinning, your fans scoring more hits than they can make against you. You see a darkness spell which has small area of effect and get an idea.

You let Deevon hit you and fall back some, acting staggered. He runs forward to try and take off your head when you cast the spell directly under your feet. A small circle of darkness opens up below you, and spikes of shadow lunge forth, impaling Deevon.

Mimi is about to avenge her companion when she hears Ruri shout. She instead turns and makes her way over to stop Lotus from impaling her.

"You must work for the hellfire knights who ride on wings of ash and brought the capital city of Arithnotan, Love miracle palace, to its knees during the dark war which-" You instead tune her out and get to healing Lotus and providing buffs.

With you healing and buffing constantly she is able to abandon defense and take down the cat-girl then turn to finish off Ruri.

The cheer of the crowd is deafening as you make your way back to the spectator seats.

You put back on your visor and look at the arena where the announcer is making some last minute adjustments to his uncomfortably large afro. After a moment he turns towards the crowd.

"Ladies and gentleman. Funky brothas and sisters too. This is it, the moment you've been waiting for. The final match! Who will go on to take on the king, and who will be the one to fall. On this side, the Bloody Mary of the battlefield, the single minded enemy of all hope. You know her, you fear her, it's MANIA!" He shouts as Mania takes the stagger, her arms still cracked black and with sharpened claws.

You focus on the headache until it feels like your head is about to split open and try to talk to Snark again. "Is there anyway we can cure her of the infection? At this rate she is just going to attack and infect others."

You think it failed again, but feel someone leaning on your shoulder. You are confused momentarily but look over to see Snark leaning against your character model. You pop a few pain killers before he talks. "I could always eat her core. Those things we fought last time were not people, just husks, but if you could beat her bad enough to make her manifest her avatar, and then we beat that and I should be able to gobble it up and make it a part of me." He informs you making you nod your head as you remember the two headed dog from last time.

stepping forward you point your fan at Mania and smile. "You're about to get the beating you've been begging for, I want to see you under my boot afterwards."

((I should point out the way I am running it I have sort of a 'pool' of failures to draw from. If you fail by a lot, get a natural 1, or enemy gets a natural 100 I draw from the pool and something 'changes' You will only die after being broken in so many ways))

You waste no time buffing and debuffing as normal and let Lotus take the front. You stand back and let her take care of the brunt of melee as you lay down heavy magic attacks from the rear. Lotus scores a nasty hit on her which sends her back into the wall. You think you have this pretty well in hand and Lotus moves in for the finishing blow when you headache gets worse and you hear a cracking sound from Mania. You look up and see thorns have split out of her body and are impaling Lotus. You briefly think you catch sight of something being pulled out of her as she falls to the ground not moving.

"Lotus!" You shout and step back, pelting Mania with spells, your Goblin ring reducing the cool-down time to pretty much nothing.

She ignores it however and dashes forward with that insane speed she had before when she fought Shimabuku. You toss up a buff and charge as well, catching her fist on your fan. Looking at her now, it seems the black cracks have gotten further along her arms and are now crisscrossing her neck and chest. The pair of you start a dance of death with each other, your blades missing by centimeters and dodging her fists and kicks by the same. You think you have the upper hand when you feel the buffs wear off, and you realize this is what she was waiting for. She deliver a powerful kick to your midsection and then follows it up with a straight across your jaw. You wobble on your feet for a second causing her to let out a small sigh of displeasure.

She walks forward, clearly intent on finishing the fight, when you lash out with a point blank magic attack. She steps away for a second as you rebuff and start laying into her with your fans, abandoning any sense of elegance and just acting on pure primal fury.

Her body gains countless cuts and wounds, however you can not manage to finish her and she delivers a high kick which feels like it is going to take off your head. You lay on the ground in a daze as she stands over you. "Almost Chen. I'll strangle you with my hair, so don't look so down." She quietly tells you as she licks the tip of her middle finger and forms her hands into the familiar piercing shape you remember.

You are so tired, so very tired. It would be nice to just give up, to rest...

Just as you think that your knee flies out into hers and you hear a sickening crack as it goes to the wrong side. She screams and falls back as you stand up and give an arrogant smile.

Wasting no time you stab into her, slashing away with your fans which seem to have small black dots floating around them. You push her back into the wall and begin slamming your knee into her stomach and holding her in place. Hey, weren't these the moves they taught you in the academy before you went into the agency?

You slip you ankle behind her broken leg and push her down before slamming the sharpened edge of your fan into her throat. You can't help but feel that something is wrong with this picture as she barely moves her head aside before getting beheaded and you continue trying to stab her.

I am nearly there!" Before screaming as black dots pour out of her, and then standing in her place is a large dragon like creature.

You smile at the large creature and then focus on the headache again. You relax and let the power flow through you, envelop you, devour you. The madness that comes with it, the raw emotions which shift and change, and the pure power that the madness brings. You throw back your head and scream "SNARK" before you feel the black dots overwhelm you and turn you into your vague angel shaped form. You gently float in the black abyss and notice that you feel a bit... different from last time. You look at your abilities and see you gained a new power from when you ate the dog headed creature. Activating it, a pair of snakes fly from your torso and land on the dragon creature, biting and going into the beast's body.

It lets out a scream and charges at you, but the you see the snakes digging into its body and slowing the beast down, giving you enough time to launch your scatter-gun full of burrowing needles into it and shift away. You note that many of Snark's attacks seem to be the sort that slowly build up and damage over time and wonder, momentarily, if it says something about his personality.

Or yours, considering how well you use it.

You will have to think on it later as the dragon opens it's mouth and launches a beam at you. You panic for a moment, however just before contact your body seems to break apart and scatter to pieces, only coming back together when the beam is gone.

You flit by the creature, peppering it with needles as you go, until you see something called 'Protect break' occur. Remembering what happened last time, you gently settle over the dragon, and the giant mouth hidden under your head opens wide and bites into the creature. You feel energy course into you, and find two cores inside it.

After eating from the creature the black dots seem to break apart as Mania screams, then she hits the ground panting heavily and letting out a soft moan.

You can't help but feel she is probably in a coma in the real world right now as you set the core on her it does not go right in so you focus inwardly at snark, more difficult now that your headache is going away.

"Snark. Could you maybe... j.... damn it, you know." You think but just get an amused reply.

"Know what? If you don't say it, this mean gluttonous snark can't know what you mean." He replies, clearly not cooperating until he gets what he wants.

"Fine, will you please help me jam it inside her." You Sigh, the cackle he replies with making you hate him all the more.

You see some black spots connect from your character's hand to Lotus' body, then gently float the core into her. It vanishes in a pink light.

After a second or two Lotus opens her eyes and looks at you. "Hey there Chen I, wow, that is unpleasant. What happened?"

You promise to tell her later as you escort her back to the stadium. You pause momentarily and look towards where Mania fell, but her body is nowhere to be seen. You get the feeling that is a problem which is not going away any time soon.

You tell Lotus to get some rest while you excuse yourself for a few moments. You begin wandering around the arena area anf eventually find her standing on a balcony area talking to the ninja you remember seeing at the Moon Tree meeting. You wait for a few seconds while they finish up there conversation and the ninja walks away when you approach.

You walk up to her and do not feel anything from her. "Walking away are you? Even after I was going to put my boot in your face." You comment calmly trying to feel for even the slightest hint of infection.

She just continues staring at you, and when you are just about to apologize you get a notification that Mania wishes to add you as a friend and share member information.

"As agreed" She states calmly.

You furrow your brow in thought, but before you can ask what she means by that you notice she is kneeling down and kissing your foot. You re about to say something when she gates out.

You accept the friend request and share contact information with the crazy lady. There is nothing that could possibly go wrong with that.

You make your way back to the stadium and take a seat next to Lotus. You notice you got a short mail from Durga.

"Hey, where did you go? The match was just about to start."

You type up a quick reply that you were just making friends with Mania and she replied almost instantly.

"You mean the hardcore sadist woman who was killing people to get off?"

"I worry for your future Anon."

You close the window just as soon as the announcer takes the stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, with a full house and fans tuning in from all over the world, the final match is about to begin! You look and see Raum as he was before. Covered in bandages and looking like an accident victim carrying two swords by his sides and holding them in a reverse grip. He looks around idly and you notice that your headache with him could be worse than Mania.

"They have taken almost everything from him." You hear Snark comment, his voice twinged with a hint of sadness.

"And in this corner, their meteoric rise through the ranks perhaps a sign of things to come. The unstoppable beauties whose light has become like a sun in this city of eternal night, the bloody stained guardians of hell. The tomboys of calamity, heeeeerrrrrreeeeee's Chen and Lotus!"

The crowd is standing and cheering, drowning you out as you protest. "No, I have a penis. Seriously."

The pair of you are now standing facing Raum. Lotus seems positively bristling, and you notice her eyes glowing pink faintly, your own black spots resonating with her.

Since the rolling's already been done, drop debuffs on him and then drag him straight into an avatar battle. We seem to be faster them Tarvos, so try and get Raum's attention by firing the needles at him and whenever he looks away hit him with something stupidly big.

We should also try and find a way to communicate what we learned from Snark to Lotus just incase she doesn't know, and have both of us ready for a Data Drain when his Protect breaks. We should probably let her eat his core too, kind of symbolizing that she "destroyed" Raum, hopefully giving her closure while we save him.

The Avatars of the Cursed Wave were the only things to really stand up to AIDA, in the GU series of games. They are distinct, yet possess necessary tools to deal with stuff like that. I think it might be handy to keep Lotus around as a contingency to deal with us in case we lose control.

We cannot really assume that Snark's long-term goals align with our own. He appears to be intelligent and cooperative enough, but he is a glutton at heart, and may be playing the long game. If we can't keep him under control, it may not be great for us later down the line.

As you cast your buff and debuffs you smile gently at Raum. "Please stop doppelganging emo teenagers from angsty video games." You taunt causing him to glance at you, though if it was effective or not, you can not really tell.

You decide to step back and let Lotus have at Raum by her self this time around. You keep on holding up the Buffs on her, rebuffing just before they run out and healing when Raum's half-hearted strikes manage to connect through luck more than anything. This is personal for her, and you will not let her be denied.

Lotus tosses Raum up in the air before connecting a perfect mid section swing. You think you feel Raum try and summon his creature to fight, but a quick flash of pink from Lotus and a solid hit manage to counter it. Raum seems to be starting to pay attention, what few synapses left inside him flaring to life as he tries to counter, but Lotus is too deep in her rhythm and too buffed for him to catch her.

She slowly hacks into Raum from the extremities into the torso and then knock him down.

The two of you wait, knowing that it could not be over, and sure enough, like some sort of zombie he gets back up. He looks at the two of you, his eye finally gaining some focus. He lets out an animalistic roar and glows light green before shouting "Innis", and then before you stands the parody of the reaper wrapped in a cloak of bandages and belts, his arms blades of light.

Lotus responds in kind with "Tarvos" and you follow it up by screaming "Snark", your own avatars coming into play.

Your wings seems more solid than before.

Guess Raum has been spending too much time CRAWLING IN HIS SKIIIIIN, instead of fighting people who can fight back.

You decide to try out your new attack before you do anything and draw your wings together. Where they touch a small light glows and then launches a beam surrounded in what looks like thorns. It is a bit slower than the beam used on you before and Innis dodges easily, but it gives you some ideas. Tarvos flies in and uses the large sword jutting out of the winged serpent's mouth to start slashing away at him. He slides and back steps and when she finally scores a hit, Innis just shatters like glass and reappears somewhere else. Unluckily for him, that somewhere else happens to be where you threw out your pair of snakes who bite into him and start coiling around him.

You move up closer to him, your more solid wings allowing you to fly faster than before and start firing away with your needles. They score only a few hits as he focuses on you while slashing which gives Tavos a chance to launch some sort of beam cannon at him. It scores perfectly and as soon as he turns away to look at her you fire your agony cannon. The light envelops him, and the thorns which surrounded it coil and bind him even further. He is now moving like a crawl, which makes it easy to avoid a charge he tries to use on you.

You see Tarvos charge up an orb of energy which envelops Innis, but it does not seem to find purchase on him and you hear Snark sigh. "She got too greedy, you have to let it cook before you eat, before you eat." He sings to some tuneless song.

You continue firing needles into him until he is all but no longer moving and you can practically taste his fear and panic. Tarvos coils up and then launches itself at Innis, skewering him.

You see 'Protect break' and coil around him, your mouth biting into his false flesh and ripping the black dots from within.

"Tch, that's it, huh?" You hear snark complain before Innis breaks into particles of light and falls to the ground. The two of you follow suit.

Basically he is saying Raum's epitaph, his big monster thing, was full of black dots. Snark wanted to eat all the black dots and rip his epitaph out, but if he did that it would have probably killed raum, so he just took most of it. The epitaph will recover, but we have sort of a copy of it.

"It's gone Lotus, the infection is-" You start then you hear Snark add in "AIDA" "Yeah, the AIDA infection is gone, all that's left is the player. He was just a victim too, the real bad guys are CC Corp for keeping these things a secret, for using people and allowing creeps like Hamelin to use these things like puppets." You plead, trying to make her see reason.

"She isn't coming back Chen. She is never coming back. I at least deserve this much." She counters.

"We don't know that she can't be brought back, I am certain the secret to that is somewhere in 'The World'. Please, trust me. I will do everything I can to try and get your sister back." You tell her making her pause and look down at Raum.

It is a tense couple of seconds before she nods her head and lets herself be led off.

"AND THERE YOU GO LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT WE HAVE NEW DEMON PALACE EMPERORS! WITH A VICTORY HUG THE TWO OF THEM WALK OFF BACK INTO THE WORLD, ASSURE OF THEIR PLACE! THANK YOU FOR THE EXCITING EVENING! GOODNIGHT!" The announcer shouts as you leave.

You are now standing outside of the Arena. It is the middle of the night in the real world so Lotus said her goodbyes.

As you wait around for Durga to catch up with you, you mentally focus on Snark, finding it easier now that you have gotten used to him. "Hey, Snark. Would it have worked? Would killing him have brought her sister back?" You ask, doubt clouding your mind.

Oh, he is also made of black dots, but I am pretty sure he is not trying to kill me. Probably." You tell her.

"Uh, you okay Anon? Maybe you have been playing this game too long. She offers looking concerned at you.

"He is quite real, I promise. Didn't you see me go all black dotty when I was fighting Sadist chick? Or the champ?" You ask causing her to nod.

"That was him. He is pretty chatty when you can get him going." You explain making her shake her head again.

"Yeah, I saw that but I can't see... can I talk to him? Maybe? Then I would be able to believe you." She asks making you look inwards.

The main reason I'm inclined to trust him is that with the two other AIDA-infected PCs, Mania and Raum, it seems like their AIDA were able to dramatically influence the players' behavior, to the detriment of their sanity.

I don't see why Snark wouldn't be able to do the same, but he appears to have no interest in it. Before I knew what he really was, he even used the aforementioned ability to alter my character's perception to mimic a player character and offered me advice.

However, going back to the 'part computer virus' part, he does appear to want to infect other PCs, doing it to Mania when I PKed her several days ago, so that is somewhat worrisome.

Upon seeing the undesirable effect infection had on Mania's personality, I believe I was able to persuade Snark from not doing that in the future without my permission, but I'm not completely certain."
