Reading through the books deciphers something you had somehow overlooked before. Each house seems has their own artefacts throughout history; The Hufflepuff Cup, The Debunked Chamber of Salazar Slytherin, The Trident of Rowena Ravenclaw and her Lost Diadem, and last but not least the Sword of Godric Gryiffindor.

You find it odd then to suppose the Slytherin house doesn’t have an artefact to call their own yet Ravenclaw has two?

Further reading and study throughout the night reveals more of the founders of the school…of the rivalry between them and their pursuits for knowledge, justice, power and equality.

Could it be that Salazar coveted Rowena’s knowledge to the point he would have created an enchanted Trident to be her equal? Now you come to think of it the thought of the resigned and eloquently quick witted Ravenclaw Founder ever creating an enchanted symbol of strength doesn’t sit right with you.

Salazar created the Trident. Not Rowena.

The article speculates the reason for the drop in thefts is because the long time Squib Thief has disappeared, all word and trace of him has upped and vanished.
