You are Ssen, a Lamia raised by a human Paladin who adopted you after killing the ones who birthed you. You are grown now, and Father has passed on. After a great deal of work, you have become a Paladin like your Father, and now take up his duties.

You are accompanied by your best friend from childhood, the insect druid Tricia; Mage, a magic user who ran away from his family of cannibal raiders known as the Ghouls (Yes, his name is Mage. It was his idea); Persephone, a 22-year old thief/ex-guerllia fighter (She goes by Peri), and Mari, a 13-year old prodigy scholar/now sniper, who has her mind and soul trapped within Peri's body; and Lea, a deeply religious musician/martial artist, trained by her father, a famous trainer for arena fighters, she's covered from her mouth down in bandages to hide the horrific state her body has become thanks to the 'cures' that saved her from cancer.

Your journey continues...

You finished your business in Bronze Peak, a few heart to heart talks, some conversation with Paul the Harpy to arrange a meeting with the Harpy Queen. Then you headed back to Stone Hall.

On the way you were attacked by four Passion servants of the Dramatae. You dispatched them with ease, and captured one of them. A little interrogation of the man told you that there was an event that has caused panic among the Dramatae, and those that worship Citadel.

It has rained within Citadel.

This is apparently a bigger deal than it sounds. Isen revealed some of the semi-confidential history of the Newgates. Before he was a Newgates and the unquestioned rulers of Citadel, the first to sit upon Citadel's throne was the leader of a horde of raiders, who sacked and eliminated the Bear Tribe, he was then visited by the Messenger of the Light (A being that fits the description of Peace's possible true form) and told that if he defeated one more group of people, she would give them the city they had just taken, and shower them with blessings and gifts. They did so and the Newgate line, and Citadel was born, and has been growing ever since.

Your headquarters at the Lighthouse has been outfitted quite splendidly, despite the fact that Ambrose and Barney seem intent on spending any money they receive on old books, esoteric junk, and random inventions. Though the water cascades (Showers) and the Constructed Hot Spring, (Hot tub) are not unwelcome additions.

Still, after some lovely time in the lovely warm water with the lovely Tricia, it's back to work. No Rest For The Righteous.

"Mirrors!" Ambrose says as he slaps his head as he looks at the barrels of Lantern Coins that you've brought to him. "Of course! Why didn't I make that connection?" He goes to his collection of books and takes out a map. "I always thought that it was strange...yes..." He gets a quill and a ruler. He starts drawing lines. "Ah HA! Seven plus ages of wondering, and it's clear as day now." He's drawn a pentagon on the map, with a line from each corner going straight into the middle. "So elegant. So simple, but so amazingly powerful...how did they figure it out?" He smiles as he looks at the five/six of you and taps the map. "Do you know what this is?"
>>

"Beyond a pentagon and some lines going to the middle? Not a clue so do explain."

"The final battle that broke the power of the Dragon Who Was Of Shadow. There was always one thing that alway confused me. The Lightbringer marched his army to do battle with the Dragon's hordes of minions. It's spawn, its servants, the monster legions, and the traitorous humans. But the Caligo Clarus wasn't wait them. Instead, they went to these five positions here, and a small force right here." He points at all six points of the design. "No one has ever been able to understand why the elite of the Lightbringer's elite, and his most loyal, would break rank. Now, it's clear as day. They were forming a Grand Seal." He laughs. "The mother of all binding spells...13 rings. It had to be."

"That's not possible." Mage says. "No one has made a binding ring with more than two. The size of the thing would be immense, and the chances of a mistake in any one of those rings would be disastrous. Also, there's no room! A 13 ring seal would be massive." He traces circles around the center point.

"Not if you did this." Ambrose says. He draws two circles around each point.

"OH!" Mari says. "A circle of rings! That's ingenious. But how..."

"They stamped them on the mirrors!" Mage says. "You carve in the runes and...that's how you make sure they don't get smudged or incorrect." He nods. "Then you activate them with magic and..." Mage lets out a low whistle.

"That's enough to break the back of a God." Mari says. "The Grand Seal of Light. The First Lantern. Okay, so...what was the seal that was inscribed on the mirrors?"

Ambrose shrugs. "No idea."

"Marvelous." Peri says. "So we only know the what, and half the how, and it doesn't even matter because the stuff we need to make the mirrors is useless anyway."

"It's more than we had before." Lea says.

"Ssen?" Tricia asks. "Any ideas, or do we just focus on the disasters that we've created personally?"
>>
>>24422657
"It will have to wait until later, perhaps the last of the Bear tribe can illuminate us on the specifics of the seal, but we need to stabilize Bronze Peaks /now/ before it gets worse."

"Agreed." Mage and Peri/Mari say.

"I'll keep looking into it. See what I can find." Ambrose says.

Do you want to grab the Princess, Isen, and Tara and head out, or is there anything else you want to do in Stone Hall before you leave?

Don't really have time at the moment. We need to get Bronze Peak back on track soon. After? Yes, break time, research time, whatever time.

"I have to go visit someone. Then we'll go. Ambrose, do be sure to write this down, make copies them, and send them some place safe. If the lighthouse burns down and we all die, I want to make sure they're not lost."

"It's sad that I don't even think that's the slightest bit paranoid." Peri says.

"Say hello to the old woman for me." Tricia says. "We'll get everything ready to go when you get back."

"You head down to the tunnels, and to the undercity. There's actually humans milling around here, fixing up the tiles, working on the sewage lines, and walking around the undercity. Scheherazade is in her cave, out of the way. She's sleeping put she stretches as she gets up as you come inside. "Hello Little Worm." She says with a smile. "So, sounds like you've had a busy week since you left. I hear tales of Harpies in Bronze Peak, soon." She looks at you. "So, what have you been up to exactly?"

"Well, I tried to lay low. I also found out I am quite possibly one of the least skilled low layers out there.

I'll go in roughly chronological order. We met the lightbringers on accident, and got threatened by the dramatae. After that we met my father's old friend, and arranged a visit to the bear shrine. Ran into trouble with citadel vampires, and found some ancient and wondrous books. Could only be read by descendants of rocs, dragons, leviathans, and trolls. They're full of ancient secrets, I wanted you to read the troll one someday actually. After that we befriended a whorehouse owner, met a dragon, earned and then lost his respect, learned even more ancient knowledge, saved said whorehouse owner, destabilized the economy onaccidentandandand"

"The 'laying low' plan sort of failed badly. Plus, I met Isen's great-great-great-great-GREAT-Great grandfather."

"Eh?"

"I met the Dragon 'Old One.' Imagine a creature with Isen's ego, only more."

"Oh, Him." Granny says, rolling her eyes. "Gives me nothing but grief because I care for people who aren't myself." She sighs. "But go back to the laying low part."

You tell her everything. Discovering the shrine and facing down Passion Trivalon. Saving Sandover from becoming the new Rage. Traveling the Dark Peaks and facing down the remnants of the Dragon Who Was Of Shadow. Then of your talk with Old One, and the attack by Passion Sally and her army of Blanks. The Lightbringers, and how you turned Ava, and the terrible incident. Then of how Bronze Peak is bankrupt, and how the Harpies will help. Then of your journey back here, and the attack by even more Passion, and how it has apparently rained in Citadel.

"It rained in Citadel?" Granny says. "Huh, last time I heard of that happening was about 20 years ago."

You can't help but smirk. That must have been Father. You can't help but feel a little smug that you now have a chance to do him one better.

"But, I'm worried. Six Passions? That means they're desperate. I've never heard of them getting more than two. Even then, they'd never do actual field work. They manipulate people into getting what they want. Everything's breaking apart...I don't know if that's a good thing or not."
>>
>>24423450
their masks SPECIFICALLY follow those rules.

If they have a group of mooks they have way, way, WAY more health and power. Due, mostly, to draining it from the mooks.
>>

"I don't know either- it wasn't supposed to break this fast. I'm not sure how citadel lived this long if my insane bumbling is dismantling it. Maybe it just can't deal with the unexpected?"
>>
>>24423455
"I think it is, but it's breaking apart a little to fast for me to deal with right now."

>>24423500
Maybe not having a Rage is hurting them far more then we thought?

Also what other 'evils' could Peace send the Lightbringer after? Though I can guess of one... you. You battled Lightbringers before and he would definately believe you were evil after stabbing Ava. Be careful Granny.
>>
>>24423551
They don't know she's still alive. That's why we have to not tell anybody that she exists ever.

Peace is freaking out badly. So badly that she just dumped the Lightbringers off at the dragons cave and didn't expect us to be there. In Ava's memory, Peace couldn't understand how we could have resisted the Dragon Who Was of Shadow. And now only Adahn is left.

So she throws 4 Passions against us to try to steamroll us with brute force, only we take then apart easily. That obviously a badly-planned attack of desperation. And there is still no Rage.

Peace is starting to lose it.
>>
>>24423813
All I want to do is roughly take the controls of this crazy thing from peace and interrogate from her how the hell to drive it

because we're going right for a cliff

Peace having to adopt Rage's duties isn't meshing too well.
>>

it gets even better when you realize this:

Peace's "penance"? the killing of iztak?

It's the thing that set such a huge fire under us about citadel, and learning to deal with it.
>>
>>24423529
"I think it is, but it's breaking apart a little to fast for me to deal with right now."

"You've disrupted its feeding time, and you've cut off two of its 'limbs,' so to speak." Granny says. "Plus it seems the Dramatae can create a different story to save their lives." She nods. "It's gotten too big, so it has to start feeding on its own magic to stay alive. The rain and the other little things will be the first to go." She nods. "Probably not much else will happen for a while, unless someone keeps pushing. Probably doesn't help that the Dramatae seem to be using magic left and right to make an army."

"In the long run I think it will be good at least in terms of ending Citadel, but I truly dread the cost people could pay if we cannot mitigate some of the problems it causes." You say.

Granny sighs. "That's what caused the Chimmeri to break off at the last moment, same with all the other attempts. The Dramatae have hostages. Countless numbers of them." She shakes her head. "I still don't see a way around that, and what if you do manage to do that pipe dream of converting Citadel to the Light?" She says. "Would that change anything? Is it okay for this crime against nature happen as long as you don't do this other one?" She shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I'm not asking you for answers. I'm just worried. When people get this close, things start to fall apart."

"Anyway," She looks at you. "Harpies, huh? Well, don't try to fight them. They aren't too keen on raw physical strength. Strong wings aren't always the best. Bravery and cunning is their wheelhouse. Ducking and darting through a ravine during an avalanche, that's something they can respect. How quick are your reaction times these days? They should been improving..." She rolls her eyes. "But you don't know how...of course." She sighs. This isn't my thing. Apparently I'm supposed to just be as strong as a troll...but we'll see if my method works for you."

(cont)
>>
>>24423878
She slithers away and comes back with a small jar of what looks like red moss. "This is a very stupid idea." She says. "But the idea is simple, eat this, and then..." She looks around and shrugs. "Well...try to kill me." She looks at it. "It's...well...it's the last bit of something the Chimmeri made for sister and me. They put me and sister in a cave, and let us go at it. By the time it wore off, we at least knew how to use the strength in our bodies." She tosses the jar back and forth. "This will make you forget yourself, mostly, make you how you'd be if there wasn't any Citadel, and your father never found you. Just for a while. Your body remembers how to do things, but the mind can get in the way. Once you come back, it should be easier for you to pull out a little of that part of you, while still staying in control." She shrugs. "Your call Little Worm."

You know, I think Ssen would make a good serpent queen.

She's crafty and made of poison. And understands where to find herds of cattle.

Hey we haven't gone over the deep end yet. But this is the highest we've rolled for it too.

Ugh, that...that bitch! "Fuck you, Granny!" Ohh, you're going to show her with a nice...wait...how...ugh...head...

Granny lowers her good arm. "Oh thank the stars." She says.

You snarl and hiss at Not-Same....Granny...wait...

"Yeah, I think we've gone far enough." Granny says. She raises her hand, a blue/white glow charges at the tip of her blade, then she slams her hand on the ground.

Everything goes black.

You wake up in Granny's picture room, on one of her hay nests. Your barbs are gone, folded back into you, your claws are out though, gleaming nails, bone white and hard. You're covered in bandages, and you can feel the thingle of magic on your shoulder.

Granny slides into view. She's also got some bandages on, and is drinking some very strong smeeling, obviously medicinal tea. Her hood has folded back down."Okay...so...we're never doing that again. Ever." She sighs. "Still, haven't fought like that in ages. How you feel, little snake?"

You sit there silently for a moment. Taking in what just happened. <You okay?> You ask.

<I've been through worse.> Granny says. <Surprises left and right from you, the acid, the barbs, the noxious fumes, and damn but you're fast.>

<Everything hurts, and I still feel slightly crazy. All venoms and blood and quickquick.>

<It'll pass.> She says. <But how do you FEEL?>

"Rather monstrous. How about you? It's a very strange experience to have memories of yourself acting without rational thought, but I have some pretty clear memories of ripping into that skin that I couldn't bite into."

"Yeah, yeah, good job." Granny says rubbing her still slightly numb arm. "You got me. No need to get too excited about it. You snapped a few quills doing it."

"And did you know I had claws and barbs like that? Because I didn't. And they itch like hell."

"I had no idea about the bard. Never seen those things on a lamia. The claws I knew about but thought that yours were those nails of yours. Guess I was wrong."

"How did you survive fighting like that multiple times?"

"Practice, training, and...well..." She shrugs. "Instinct. When we stay what we are and don't let other things tell us what we should be...we can be pretty fucking scary."

"Anyway to put these away?" You wave your claws a bit. They still sting where they ripped through your old cuticles.

"Well, maybe not all the way, but if they're like my blades...relax your fingers, you'll feel the new muscles...well you'll be aware of muscles you never knew you had.

Your fingers relax and you can feel your claws slowly slide back and your skin creep over them. It feel weird as hell, and now it looks like you just have bone white nails.

"Now, one last thing." Granny says. Without warning she takes a swing at you, without even thinking you twitch the quick-quick muscles that still ache...a LOT, but you move your body out of the way of Granny's fist so that it passes harmlessly by you.
>>

"Yeah. And I think we're going to have to call you a Dawnchaser from now on, because that was definitely our caliber of crazy."

And hug Granny, gently like because we're both sore.

Also, thanks for telling me how to retract my claws. to go through all that trouble learning the spear and never be able to make a fist would have been annoying."

"Try having five foot long stakes coming out of your wrists." Granny says.

"Fair enough. Any idea how I can make anti-venom? I've never had the opportunity to learn how and my fellow Caligo Clairus aren't exactly as... Resilient as you. Not that I'm expecting anything but... When I was little-, well littler there was an accident. I don't to have to be afraid like that again."

Granny shrugs. "It isn't too hard. Just requires the venom you want to have, a couple of herbs that are fairly common, and then a proper treatment of boiling it and letting the mixture settle." She says. "It takes about two days. But..." She hands you a good sized bottle. "It's not your own personal brand, but it'll keep other people's bones from melting. Might even save your own life if you get bit by your own kind, but you'll need to use a needle and inject it straight into your heart. Quickly." There's a needle attached to a small air bladder fasted to the bottle. "Consider it a prize for actually making me bleed."

Okay guys, weigh options. On the one hand barbs are super cool and allow for massive damage against a single target.

On the other hand clear poison burns through shit with ease and can kill a whole army of people in a gruesome manner.

One the one hand the barbs will interrupt any tail poison we have.

On the other hand the clear will corrode any armor we have.

I am still deciding.

You twist and relax something within you and AH...ohhh that's cold...and dripping from your tail. It's causing small puff of smoke to rise from the stone floor and leaves stains, but doesn't actively eat away at it. Must not be that strong, but painful as Hell if it made Granny scream. Oh, oh, ewww. It's dripping from your fingers. It feels really gross.

The barbs are not an option. Maybe that's for the best, popping them out now hurt like hell, and you get the feeling that they weren't even close to being full grown.

Also, you're not sure if it was the blood moss, or all the activity, or just going savage, but you've without a doubt got another half-a-foot of tail to work with. Thank His Light you got to relax your skin in that simulated hotspring last night.

"You done, or are you going to keep messing up my home?" Granny asks pointing at the acid dripping from your fingers.

"Of course you will. Of course you will." You say, returning the hug. Sniffling a little.

You both let go, you start by giving Granny some samples of your poisons for her to make anti-venoms and just poke around with.

"By the way," You asks as you had over a hissing stone jar filled with Clear. "What /was/ that bolt you knocked me out with?"

"A spell." She says. "Maybe some day I'll teach you what I know about Magic. Of course, step one is to find a really nasty son-of-a-bitch magic user...and eat him."

She laughs at your horrified expression. "Nagas can do magic. Leviathan's have all that poison, and can think in twenty twisted ways, so they say. But Trolls are the Sons of Their Father, and the Daughters of Their Mother, and they Do Not Forget." She tweaks your nose. "Gotta have SOME advantage over you, if you get so fast I can't ever hit you, don't I?"

>Maybe some day I'll teach you what I know about Magic.

"And sure, if I live long enough I'd love to learn some magic from you. You know what might help me live longer? Magic."

(With a big grin so she knows we're mostly joking.)
>>
>>24429216
"I'm sure it'll be some time before I'm THAT fast. Eating someone... I think I might just not learn magic for a while. A long while."

"Oh, and there was a reason I came down here, other than to regale you with my stories. Isen is coming with us to bronze peak for a week or so, to settle the negotiations with the harpies. So it's not violating his contract or whatever you have with him, and all that. He wanted me to talk to you, or write to you about it."

Laugh, "Yea, I am curious, what does the hood do?"

"Speaking of Trolls, the Bear Shrine has a book that can probably only be read by Trollkin, I am borrowing the Dragon book from Old One and it had a wealth of knowledge about dragons, Beautiful Ones etc."

Granny shakes her head. "Get that minotaur girl. The Minotaurs are a troll offshoot. She'd have an easier time than me. Same with you and a Mer trying to read the Leviathan book, I assume they had one for each, right? Yeah. Rocs anyone can figure out if you can get the code." She sighs. "It's getting late. Our little training session took longer than I thought, what with us both needing first aid." She gives you another hug. "Take care, and don't take any shit from the harpies or that old sack of scales."

Isen, we should say something about stealing for a bit.

She nods and waves her hands. "Fine, fine. If it collapses in a week without him, then we had bigger problems anyway." She sighs. "Just be careful about this. You'll be formally making an alliance and a government that has no input whatsoever from Citadel. A Newgate presence might not be enough to mitigate it. Especially if things are starting to go crazy over there.

"Now go, Little Snake. Go change the world some more." She smiles at you. "I'm proud."

>>
>>24429539
Alright, here's how Lamia Dodge works. You can choose it as an action if you're being attacked. If they miss, they miss. If they hit, and you roll higher, they miss. If you beat their roll by 5+ then you are now directly behind them and get a +2 (Or +1/+1 if it's a combo) to your attack.

If you want to burn a turn, you can drip the Black onto Beacon. All attacks with Beacon will now give a chance to paralyze, BUT Beacon will not light while it is poisoned.

Spend a turn, or pick to do this at the start of combat, and you can extend your claws and cover them with Clear. You'll get two attacks per round. (Four with a successful dodge, that includes dodges that are below 5+) and every attack give a cumulative chance for acid damage.

If you want, you can spend three rounds mixing all three poisons within you and spit out a mass of bile that will spread the Yellow fumes. These fumes are deadly, to almost everyone. That includes the other Dawnchasers.

Any further questions?

on our fingers. Extending a claw to count on for each one. We will not mention this.
>>
>>24430248

>>
>>24430279
Hey Tricia, guess what? I have claws!
>>
>>24430275
Yes. That causes a full-body lock down. If you give them a double does, it will freeze heir hearts causing slow brain death.

>>24430283
Your AC is the same. You don't quite have the hang of being quick-quick while carrying Beacon, Clang and in full armor. Train a bit.

>>24430302
You can, but it's less effective. A mixture of White/Black then Clear is not the same as White/Black/Clear.
>>
>>24430372
>You can, but it's less effective.

>>24430248
With Lamia Dodge, do you mean a separate opposed roll, as opposed to the attack roll they hit with?

Do the venoms break down over time, or could we collect a modest supply in a few jars for later use?

Does the clear venom do any damage to materials at all?

Could we drip black paralytic onto our claws?
>>
>>24430279
Also, did we fuck up our armor? I mean we just had what I am assuming is a bunch of protruding spines extend from our... spine. I'm assuming Dad didn't factor that into our armor design. Wonder if we can rig up a sheathing down our back than can flip up a bit when the spines shoot out. Would deflect blows even going up as they catch on the base and allow the spines to shoot out and retract, gravity letting them fall back into place. Get the joint strong enough and it could act as a sword catcher as well.
>>
Well, I'm all for biting every enemy with black venom now. Bites for everyone.

Anyway, I'm done with questions. Show on road let's get!
>>
>>24430372
>Your AC is the same. You don't quite have the hang of being quick-quick while carrying Beacon, Clang and in full armor. Train a bit.

>>24430497
>>24430497

>>
>>24430497
would probably work. let's figure out a counter agent for our gas before implimenting this specific plan though.
>>
>>24430540
If we had a decent supply of them saved up, it wouldn't take Ssen as much time to produce it, and the jar allows throwing ir or leaving it behind and running.
>>
>>24430562
The problem is still the mixing ... we still have to mix all three instead of adding the one.
>>
>>24430428
>With Lamia Dodge, do you mean a separate opposed roll, as opposed to the attack roll they hit with?
Yes. If I'm understanding you right, that is correct. Oh, and say they roll a Crit 20. You get a roll, if can hit 17+ it goes down to just a regular hit. If you crit, then they miss.

>Do the venoms break down over time, or could we collect a modest supply in a few jars for later use?
The Black and Clear do indeed break down over time. They have a half life of a week. By then they're just irritants. That's why having a lamia available to give new venom is so vital in making anti-venom because you get fresh stuff.

The anti-venom, due to the processes it goes through, remains potent for a long period of time.

>Does the clear venom do any damage to materials at all?
Wood yes but slowly, fabrics very much so, metals and stone no.

>Could we drip black paralytic onto our claws?
Yes.

>>
>>24430599
>>With Lamia Dodge, do you mean a separate opposed roll, as opposed to the attack roll they hit with?
>Yes. If I'm understanding you right, that is correct.

Ah, good. I asked because with the rolls most things need to hit right now (Get hit by Mooks: 16, Alphas & Leaders: 15, Bosses: 14), if they actually hit then we'd practically have to crit to roll 5+ more than them, and we'd have *less* chance of doing so on weaker enemies than stronger ones, which wouldn't make sense.

> Oh, and say they roll a Crit 20. You get a roll, if can hit 17+ it goes down to just a regular hit. If you crit, then they miss.

Nice.

>The Black and Clear do indeed break down over time. They have a half life of a week. By then they're just irritants. That's why having a lamia available to give new venom is so vital in making anti-venom because you get fresh stuff.

Fair enough.

>Wood yes but slowly, fabrics very much so, metals and stone no.

So not our armor, then, since it's made of metal and not fabric? (Though we'd better not be fond of any clothing we're wearing.)

>>Could we drip black paralytic onto our claws?
>Yes.

Awesome. That seems like the most effective way to take people out of a fight quickly *and* non-lethally, especially since we get at least two attacks per round with it.
>>
>>24430655
Still in d'awe-shucks mode from touching moment with Gran. Try to resist goofy blush from Trish's show of affection and reply, "Yeah, as usual. I learned a lot though. I mean a LOT. I'll fill you guys in on the road, but try not to be alarmed if I do anything odd."

>>24430706
>most effective way
Only if we're going to be taking out lots of people. One or two? Biting and constriction.

A whole group? black venom tipped claws.

I don't think we should venom up beacon. It doesn't deserve that kind of treatment.

>"Hey." Tirica greets you with a peck on the cheek. "A lizard person said that you'd be late. The old hag beat you around a bit?" She says.

"Yeah, but this time around I beat her around too. Felt really bad about it afterward, but I learned several things about myself in the process. First [claw], I can produce more venoms than just the bone-melting one, including a black paralytic that should help me be less lethal. Second [claw], I can produce acid. Third [claw], I can mix them and produce a cloud of poison. Fourth [claw], I can move and dodge fast like Lamias are supposed to be able to. And fifth [claw], [wave with clawed hand]."

>>
>>24430740
>Only if we're going to be taking out lots of people. One or two? Biting and constriction.
>A whole group? black venom tipped claws.

No, even with a single enemy, two chances to hit with a paralytic seems more effective than one chance at wrapping or biting.

(Speaking of which, what's the + on the claw attack?)

>I don't think we should venom up beacon. It doesn't deserve that kind of treatment.

Agreed. Pointless anyway since we can use claws or bites with venom.
>>
>>24430774
Claws are signifcantly longer than our fingers I thought so we could use it as a rake with the shield where it is I believe.
>>
>>24430763
Why use it? The point, mechanically speaking, is that we get two lethal attacks with it.

You can't have it both ways.

"Uh, huh. Okay, not going to ask for details." She sighs. "Anyway, the Princess is in the carriage. She's been doing what I can only guess is swearing in her language, cause she's ripped up about half of those ledgers we brought back with us. And anti-venom? Yeah. Dad wrote a lot about them." She lets the 'why' just go unsaid. "They aren't too tricky to make, just need facilities and time."

the gamble for a quick end to the round is worth the risk, I'd argue, for straight bites and constrictions against one or two targets. Even though the poisoned claws are statistically better. They take a round to prepare, remember.

>We should probably showcase at least a couple of the changes to our group in private if only to dissuade them from thinking we get citadel corrupted if we have to bust the shit out.

Good point, those are probably best demonstrated in private. But soon, though. And with clawful showlamiaship.
>>
>>24430867
yes. Let's tell them all about it.

"Guys, just so you don't freak out, I got these cool and or terrifying claws and barbs now. Or technically I always had them and am now just finding out about it. Also apparently I am just brimming with poison, so much so that I can make a poisonous gas. So... yeah. Full disclosure and all that."

>She's been doing what I can only guess is swearing in her language

Oh, this I want Ssen to hear.
>>
>>24430867
after we leave town on our trip back to Bronze Peaks yea, I wouldnt want to do that where anyone else could see it.

Echo is Clang useable with the claws out?
>>
>>24430867
I'm guessing if our claws can gouge into Granny like that, we could probably rend pig iron with them?
>>
>>24430901
Or marble.
>>
>>24430901
our claws are gen-u-ine dragon scale or some shit.

We'll be able to get through armor if we manage to get the dice to agree.

>>24430901
I think you guys missed the important part of that, the backrubs
>>
>>24430889
>Elaborate bird metaphor swearing
Hmm.
>>
>>24430920
you make a compelling point
Show them your barb-wounds, too.
>>
>>24430920
No, that was just a given was all.
>>
>>24430888
and they will be cool with it. Because our friends are awesome like that.

OK, collecting open mechanics questions in one place for Echo, since we've run into a pile of them:

Can we use Clang with the claws out?

Can we gouge into stone or metal with the claws, since they cut Granny's tougher-than-marble skin?

Can we poison arrows?

What's the + on the claw attacks?

Would the clear acid venom damage any part of our armor or Clang? (Clothes it obviously would.)
>>
Depending on how much longer you plan on running this Echo, we're on page 10 so ... yeah.
>>
>>24430957
oh, we should archive. Is this archived?
>>
>>24430966
Yes it is.

The guy that does it tends to be on the ball for that.
>>
>>24430966
Yup, archived and waiting for upvotes:

this one fucking deserves one, it's getting it. Good session so far.

>Arrows
Sure. It takes a turn to juice them up so the venom's effective and will stay on the arrow.

>>24430953
>Can we use Clang with the claws out?

No, but you can use Clang and one claw.

>Can we gouge into stone or metal with the claws, since they cut Granny's tougher-than-marble skin?

Not yet. You CAN but it'll hurt like a bitch and you'll break or tear something. You just didn't care about that while you were savage.

>Would the clear acid venom damage any part of our armor or Clang?

It's not good for it. Once or twice is fine, but over and over and over again is a bad idea.

And yes. Making a new thread.

>Sure. It takes a turn to juice them up so the venom's effective and will stay on the arrow.

Can we do it slightly in advance of battle, since the venom stays good for a little while?
>>
>>24431023
>No, but you can use Clang and one claw.

Mechanically speaking ... does that mean 1d20 and 2d20 with a dodge? If going down that road.
>>
>>24431049
>>
>>24431052
I think we should keep clang/beacon on our back for a while. Just get used to clawing and moving with their weight.
>>
>>24431073
Agreed but I was just asking from mechanical stand point. Never know if we get disarmed or something.
