Predator Quest: Episide 11

You are Three-Claw, a Yautja hunter of the Cloud Viper clan. You have been tasked by your clan Matriarch to embark on a hunt on the world of Fey'lenn, or Pandora, as it is known to humans.

The previous quest thread is archived here:

_____________________________________

You are currently above the orbit of Pandora heading for deep space. Your ship has suffered some damage. You have lost both your plasma turrets and your frontal sensors are non-operational.

The charred carcass of the Pandoran queen is impaled solidly on your ship's nose.

You double check your systems. Your foldspace engine seems to be operational, and your reactor is still running well on half-power.

There are no Weyland ships currently in high orbit. They are all heading toward the surface.

Do you:

A. Plot a course back to your home, Yautja Tertia.
B. Hold position in the Pandoran high orbit.
>>
>>24616640
A. Plot course back - wey yu may capture a drone or something but we can always send others back to deal with it
>>
>>24616640
A. Lets go home. Whilst we are heading home, compile a detailed list of info we uncovered on and around Pandora. Something along the lines of, oh, I dont know, this: pastebin.com/gdGVKxYZ
>>
>>24616640
>A. Plot a course back to your home, Yautja Tertia.
With our cloaking system compromised and most of our frontal sensors off-line, we can't stick around.
>>
>>24616640
A
>>
>>24616676
You accelerate past the Pandoran orbit and lay in a course for home. The reactor hums as space folds itself around you. With a sudden jolt, you find yourself staring into the swirling cosmos of fold-space.

It will take several days to reach home.

You take this time to organize your trophies and compile data from your mission.

This takes you several days. You estimate to have one more day left before arriving home.

As you sift through the data, you realize much of it would prove useful for archival for future Yautja generations.

But you should also sift through the data slate for any information regarding your father, and craft the narrative of his mission and death to your mother.

Do you:

A. Spend some time cross referencing data from your vision masks's terrain scans, natural Pandoran life, and aquatic compositions to craft a compendium for the archives.

B. Spend the additional time putting together a memorandum for your father.

The memorandum can be done in our own time. Right now wem are still on mission and should do what we can to further our clans prospects.

A unfortunately business before pleasure.

Hopefully it will do our mother good to know that thanks to our father's mines, the hive that ultimately killed him has been totally eradicated.

Haha that is awesome. Nice job.
>>
>>24616965

The ship doesn't actually move. The space folds around the ship and pushes it through space-time in a bubble. Like Star Trek.
>>
>>24616965
Fold Space dude. We're not accelerating, we're entering a space fold and moving space around us so the distance between us and the place we're going is shorter.

If we were to actually, conventionally accelerate to relativistic speeds... Our hood ornament would be the least of our problems

Yeah I only quickly went over the archives last night. Figured I'd miss stuff. Also I thought I mentioned that the Navi were badasses?
>>
>>24617040
I do too, makes it fun when you want to throw in a mishap other then "Lol you fly through a star/planet."

>>24617044
S'fine, bro. It's why we're here, there's at least one or two of us with a large amount of Predator lore knowledge.

>>24617060
Only when they put down a rifle and pick up a melee weapon. They kind of suck with guns.
>>
>>24616856
>>A. Spend some time cross referencing data from your vision masks's terrain scans, natural Pandoran life, and aquatic compositions to craft a compendium for the archives.

You compile images taken with your own vision mask, scattered data from Weyland dataslates, and terrain info collected from your adventures organize them into a reference compendium.

As you piece the last bits of it together and sign it with your digital markings, the ship jolts and exits warp space.

Your homeworld, Yautja Tertia, floats before you.

The massive and heavily armed orbital defence station greets you on comms.

"Hunter of the Cloud-Viper clan, your identifications have been verified. Welcome home. Are you aware you have a massive growth on your ship?"

Do you answer:

A. "It's a trophy I acquired from my hunt".
B. "It is a hard-meat Queen from the world of Fey'lenn"
C. "Do not worry, it is dead."
>>
>That favor of the dice gods last night.

So what would have happened if we didn't critical success the "Burn her in the atmosphere" roll? Considering she wiped out the destroyer bridge in about 15 seconds...
>>
>>24617080
>A. "It's a trophy I acquired from my hunt".

Let's avoid telling them what exactly it is, but bring up questions about why it's impaled on the front of our ship.
>>
>>24617080

>>
>>24617080
>C. "Do not worry, it is dead."
I don't know; we used our ship to kill it, and help from Weyland-Yutani destroyers. Can we claim it as a trophy and a hunt?
>>
>>24617080

Is our queen actually considered an honorable trophy?

B
>>
>>24617144
Considering what is was and what it took to kill it I'd say so.
>>
>>24617080
C. That badassery.
>>
>>24617154

Scratch that, C. Probably should not lead with "Dude bro, I got a queen on my ship!"
>>
>>24617156
This. She was very worthy prey, I doubt anyone would deny us claim to her as a trophy.
>>
>>24617080
C sounds good.

Lets wait for our superiors to decide whether or not it counts as a trophy.
>>
>>24617187
>>24617144
The bitch ripped apart tanks and then *SOLO'D* a wey-yu destroyer *and* multiple sam sites. Plus we didn't actually hit her with ship weapons.
>>
>>24617210

Not for a lack of trying, mind you. She dodged our first volley, and it is pretty hard to use your weapons when they're torn clean off your ship.
>>
>>24617122
>>C.

"Do not worry, it is dead, " You answer.

You detect a hint of amusement in the port master.

"I think I know what that is, but I can't imagine under what circumstanced you'd see fit to have one as an ornament. Follow the docking lights and land in Docking Bay 5. I am asking a security delegation to meet you, to make sure it's... dead."

You see series of lights extend out from one of the station bay doors.

You align your ship and begin landing procedures.

A beam of graviton captures you as you come closer and gently moves you into the docking cradle. Around you, you notice several young hunters armed with heavy assault guns looking at your prize in amazement.

You are now docked. You extend the landing ramp and proceed to exit.

Do you:

A. Exit the ship and greet the security delegation.
B. Exit the ship and ask to speak immediately to your Matriarch over comms.

>>A. Exit the ship and greet the security delegation.

You step off your vessel and greet the leader of the security force. He makes a gesture of respect towards you.

"Greetings. I am Ash-Spear, warrior of the White-Hawk clan. It is an honor."

You introduce yourself as Three-Claw of Cloud-Viper.

"Well met." He points to your ship. "I've seen quite a few impressive specimens brought back from hunts, but usually, I have to drag them out from the storage bay. I imagine there's a good tale behind this, but that'll have to wait."

He points to the Queen. "Looks like she's jammed in solid. It'll be difficult to get her off in one piece. Might be easier to cut it apart. Would you like us to do that?"

Do you say:

A. "Try to get it off in one piece. It is a new specimen. It would be invaluable for studying it to benefit the Empire."

B. "Try to get it off in one piece. I would like to have the whole thing displayed in my clan hall."

C. "Preserve the head. Dump the rest. That is all I need for a trophy anyway."

"Try to get it off in one piece. It is a new specimen. It would be invaluable for studying it to benefit the Empire." You say.

The warrior nods. "We will try. It may take some time before you can have your ship back." He signals his comrades to holster their weapons.

He points to a door on your left. "Go through there, past the quanrantine scanner, and you'll be in a hall way. The comms room is all the way at the end. The medical bay will be to your right. If you want to book a shuttle to the surface, take the lift to level 2."

You initiate a comms stream to your clan Matriarch. The holoscreen flashes into place and you find yourself speaking to her aide.

"Greetings, hunter Three-Claw. The Matriarch is expecting you. I will transfer you momentarily."

The screen dims, then lights up once more to show the regal face of your Matriarch.

She gestures a polite greeting.

"Three-Claw, you have returned. I was informed of your... cargo. Seems you've been doing quite a bit more than gathering intelligence. I am most interested to hear your adventures, and your impeccable piloting skills."

You respond:

A: "I have compiled data on my mission, along with evidence to support them."

>A:

"I have compiled data on my mission, along with evidence to support them." You say.

You send her the data package you compiled, along with the executive summary. You tell her about Weyland's intentions for the planet and the culmination of their research. She listens intently while sifting and scanning through your data.

She waits for you to finish, and responds. "This is not unexpected, though I was hoping the reality would be less severe.

Fey'lenn is a world with dangerous biology, and the Yautja have always had great respect for it as a hunting ground. What you have told me - what you have bought back - is dire. I have already arranged for a clan moot to discuss our next actions. All major clan matriarchs will attend. This will happen tomorrow. You will need to be there. Now, what do you recommend, having the benefit of seeing it first hand, should be our response to this threat?"

You answer:

A. "Go to war. Send a fleet. Destroy the Weyland forces."
B. "Wipe the planet with atomics. The research needs to be destroyed and buried."
C. "Send in a small force of hunters. Eliminate Weyland leadership and destroy all evidence."
D. "Liase with select human contacts and make them aware of this threat within their own clans, and have them take action."
E. "I do not know, Matriarch. I will defer to the wisdom of the clans."
>>
>>24618015
Man all the spelling errors, never again will I compile info at 3am.

A)

It can still be used as a hunting ground if we remove the threat of Weyland corp interference.
>>
>>24618015

E

Honestly, exterminatus is probably correct here. But Pandora is just too good a setting to pass up.
>>
>>24618015
>C
WY might already know about us due to our antics fighting the Queen, so if we send in a large force they may copy the research and run. Sending in a small, elite group seems the most logical.

However, if the council decides otherwise I will respect that.
>>
>>24618015
>C. "Send in a small force of hunters. Eliminate Weyland leadership and destroy all evidence."

Weyland has proven utterly incapable of countering us on the ground. A strike force could gut them before they knew what hit them.
>>
>>24618015
Pandora too good to wipe, too rich in potential hunt.

Hunters have a chance of failing, but they're quiet (this is the likely option)
Going to war ensures that problem is removed though, but it's not silent at all.
>>
>>24618015
C

Can't destroy a valuable hunting ground, can't trust the humans to stop WY and can't look like indecisive either.
>>
>>24618015

B. Nuke it from orbit.
>>
>>24618015
>C. "Send in a small force of hunters. Eliminate Weyland leadership and destroy all evidence."
Going to war stirs up too much a shitstorm for all involved and hooking up with human resources has way too high a chance of backfiring.
>>
>>24618015
D. Lets get ripley or dutch or whoever to take down WY from the human side
>>
>>24618015
C, send in ELITE hunters. This isn't an ordinary task nor a simple one. Only our best are up to this challenge.
THIS HUNT WOULD BE LEGENDARY!
>>
>>24618076
(tl;dr this post was either a or c, depending on which is most popular). I sincerely recommend at least 3 ships though with no less than 3-5 hunters each
>>
>>24618060
Changing my vote to C, people have made good points. Request that we go along on this hunt.
>>
>>24618015
D, if we act on our own or with a small team of hunters, some spunky human woman will kill us all despite impossible odds.
>>
>>24618015
I'm kind of in a mood for C.

Maybe their successors will prove less foolish?

Who am I kidding.
>>
>>24618106
That'd be presumptuous.

I mean frankly while we got some impressive kills, we showed that we are still very much a rookie.
>>
>>24618121
Yeah ok fair enough.
>>
>>24618091
>Arnie being alive in the 2300s
Yeah, I doubt it.
>>
>>24618015
Also, inform the Matriarch if she would like to personally hear of the accounts on Pandora, we would be happy to come visit and tell stories.
>>
>>24618130
They just keep cloning him, like they do with Sigourney Weaver.
>>
>>24618015
C. We shall go hunt with our brothers.
>>
>>24618133
No need for that, we're already being called down for a meeting of the matriarchs.
>>
It's hard to pick only one option because the ideal solution is a combination of several.

>A. "Go to war. Send a fleet. Destroy the Weyland forces."
Seems like the best option. WY created this mess in the first place by bringing the hard meat to Pandora, if left alone they will just create another Pandoran queen now that they know it's possible to do so.

>B. "Wipe the planet with atomics. The research needs to be destroyed and buried."
Bit extreme, unless the EM-invisible strain is still out there. That particular breed must be purged. (we should still destroy the evidence)

>C. "Send in a small force of hunters. Eliminate Weyland leadership and destroy all evidence."
WY leadership is far too distributed for this to be a solution.

>D. "Liase with select human contacts and make them aware of this threat within their own clans, and have them take action."
WY can obviously dick around doing whatever they want to and none of the other humans can stop them. But even so, the marines will be veeery interested to know where their missing ship went. We should do this regardless.

>E. "I do not know, Matriarch. I will defer to the wisdom of the clans."
She asked for our input, and we were there so ours carries weight.
>>
>>24618121
*looks at trophy list and the pandoran queen hanging from our ship* rookie no longer. We made MISTAKES, were a new hunter. But by no means will we ever be considered a rookie again. Most preds don't ever kill a queen. Look what we have, we're should by all rights be advanced to an elite immediately.
>>
>>24618106
We're still wounded and we more or less destroyed a ship gathering intel and cutting off the head of the biggest problem there.

Instead we should request that data be handed over to the librarian to cross reference and prep it for elite hunters.
>>
>>24618144

>>A. Call your mother

You initiate a comms stream with your mother. The holo-screen flickers to life and her face appears on the screen. She makes a gesture of happiness.

"You have returned. And alive, no less. Very good, my son. If I lost you to that damn planet as well, I would have had to go myself, probably with a war fleet at my back. Have you found out anything about your father? No, don't tell me now. Drop by when you're on the surface. We'll speak then. " She gestures farewell, stops, and adds, "Oh, by the way, go speak to the shipmaster when you get a chance. Speak to you soon."

With that, the screen dims.

Do you:

A. Call your mentor

>>
>>24618432
It is more or less.... but yeah, we've got big problems with the Mistress of Ships, and we've got yaujta plasma tech lying on pandora still where wey-yu can find it

I feel certain she will. I think you're underestimating how much she'll be impressed with the queen, especially if we make a point of saying how much her ship helped us do so.

Honestly, the second word got out that a hunter used one of her scout ships to kill a queen she'll probably see a surge of business.

>>C. Go to the medical bay.

You exit the comms room and take a short walk to the medical bay. You are greeted by the station doctor, who scans your chest with a hand-held device.

"What happened? Mating accident? Anyway, looks like you've triaged it, and at least it's healing, but you should spend some time in the surgical bay regardless."

He points you to one of the small pods in the back.

You step into the pod and lay down. The cover slides over your head. You hear the voice of the doctor piping through the internal speakers.

"Alright. This might hurt a bit. Just going to reach in there and apply the bone-weld."

You feel a sharp pain on your chest, but only for a moment.

"Done. Good as new. Wear armor next time."

The pod opens and you step out. Your chest feels much better.

Do you:

A. Return to the comms room
B. Go to the shuttle bay.
C. Check on your ship.
>>
>>24618418
...Maybe it was too badly damaged for them to use?

But yeah that's a big problem.

Our only hope is that WY is too stupid to consider it as high a priority as it should be, and still have it on site.
>>
>>24618531
I'm like 99% sure that our mother telling us to visit the Shipmaster means she's finished refurbishing our father's ship.
>>
>>24618546
Do we need to go to the shuttle bay to go visit our mentor, mother, and others? If so, that.
>>
>>24618523
Fuck the praetorian secondary mouth, we should give her one of the tusks (if they remain) of the Queen. We did use her ship to kill it.

B, give them some time on the ship.
>>
>>24618538
Kind of - there are things that are strictly personal property (like most of your weapons and maybe a ship or two) but there's also a lot of clan property.

If you dont have a ship of your own (we dont - we borrowed ours from the mistress of ships, though we probably could claim our fathers as ours) you end up having to request to join the hunts of elder hunters (who own their ships and basically joyride around hunting things all the time).
>>
>>24618546
Did he just tell us to wear armor while mating?
>>
>>24618523
I don't know, we could take our dad's ship and heavily upgrade it?

...yes.

But we won't.

Because if the FIS can't break us, mating will be a breeze.

>>
>>24618546

We are still very young and relatively in-experienced, our mentor might suggest we take some of our fellow students on a hunt (once they're blooded)... but other young-bloods are notoriously foul tempered and hot headed (to the point of the real meatheads of the lot provoking fights with elite hunters - who may or may not immediately turn around and kill them for being stupid).

Our particular type of hunter (the intellectual variety) doesn't mesh well with meatheads who just think we're smaller than them and that they can muscle us around. Aaaand at the moment we don't really have matriarch permission to do whatever we want.

>>B. Go to the shuttle bay.

You make your way to the shuttle bay, and register for a spot on the next shuttle ground-side.

An unblooded youngling dragging a small, wheeled chest approaches you.

"Three-claw, sir? Here are your trophies, sir. Warrior Ash-Spear sends his regards sir, and wishes you to know it may take a bit longer to... get it off your ship. He'll send the whole thing down to the Cloud-Viper space port when it's finished."

With that, he leaves the chest on the ground and departs.

You open the chest to examine your trophies.

The contents are:

1. Whole chestburster
2. Drone tail
3. Synthetic head
4. 3 large fish teeth
5. 1 Na'vi head + spine
6. 1 flying drone head
7. 1 inner-mouth of Pandoran praetorian

You take the chest with you on the shuttle and make for the surface.

You land at the Cloud-Viper space port. There is still much of the day left, and you are glad for the open space, having spent so many days cooped up on your small ship.

Mother wanted us to visit the Shipmaster as soon as possible, so lets do so.

We got absurdly lucky yesterday. Like dear god, the queen:

-Got hit by a tram filled with explosive ordinance.
-Cooked by the searing heat of 15 mines around her.
-Fell 50+ meters twice.
-Took a Plasma caster to the face.
-Buried alive by the silo.
-Shot at by WY forces basically this entire time.
-Focus fired by a DESTROYER.

And she STILL was strong enough to easily catch up to us and start fucking our ship.

You catch the ship master in her office, staring intently at a rotating holographic blueprint. You recognize it as your ship.

She looks up. "Three-claw. I tell myself that at least you bought my ship back in one piece. Half my prow is torn out. None of the weapons are functional any more. What else did you do to it?"

"You know, generally, you shoot them first. Regardless, it's not a total loss. The ship is still functional, at least. It'll take some time to repair. In any case, here."

She hands you a data slate.

You read through it and realize it's a deed signed by your mother, giving you title and ownership of your father's ship.

"The Executrix put in a lot of money towards it, and we put every unit of it to good use. It's yours now. I've parked it at the space port for you, in Bay 9. It's fully upgraded and renovated. I kept the two cannons in their mounting, since I couldn't figure out how to get rid of them without scrapping the entire prow, but I've routed them to a separate reactor to make them more energy efficient. You give her a factual account of your mission sans drama or flourish. She listens intently.

She listens to your recital with intensity, and gestures relief when you speak of escaping the lake in your ship. When you speak of your encounters with Weyland forces, she listens with the analytical mind of an Executrix, and asks you many poignant questions. At last, you come to the silo, and discovery of the fate of your father, and end with your escape from the planet's surface with the Queen impaled on your prow.

Your mother takes some time to digest the information.

"Your father was a good warrior," she tells you at last, "and my life-bond with him has been... fruitful. It was difficult not knowing whether his death was avenged, but now that is past, and I am at peace. Thank you, son."

He sees you, gestures in happiness, and comes over.

"Well done, my student. Some day you'll have to teach me the use-prey-as-heat-shield technique; you seem to be quite the expert at it. Now, with that said, we have work to do.

I need to look over the specimen you've managed to transport back. I've hunted flying strains of the hard-meat before, but none quite like this."

He bids you to sit, and launches a lengthy inquisition on habits, movement patterns, musculature, and anatomy of everything you've encountered on Pandora. He listens intently.

You finish your tale, and you detect worry in your mentor. "I've not seen such rapid evolution of new strains," he tells you. "It could be localized to certain properties of the planet. Regardless, I'll need to think upon it. Now, tell me, what have you planned for the next few days?"

"Not all clans work as we do. Some relish in politics, others are forced into it. Every time there's a gathering of more than two Matriarchs, friction tends to get in the way of actual resolutions. Be careful of what you say, and try stay aligned with the intentions of our Matriarch.

>>24619448
>A: Ask for advice on what you should wear.

What to say is pretty easy if we just follow the Matriarch's lead.
>>
>>24619448
B
Like I assume the Matriarch will do much of the talking, with us chiming in as commanded?
>>
>>24619448
B
>>
>>24619448
B

>>24619457
>>24619465
Dress should be pretty obvious. We are a warrior, we go with the armor we wore.
>>
>>24619479
>>24619457
Actuaslly good point, switching to A
>>
>>24619468
>>24619456
>>24619452
We're a male, and despite our performance on planet, we're still young and inexperienced - I dont imagine we'll get much opportunity to speak at all, and if we do all we need to do is follow the matriarchs lead. We still need to see her and I imagine she'll be much better at coaching us with what to say than our mentor.
>>
>>24619489
We could use all the advice we can get; if our mentor says shut up and just answer questions when asked, that's good advice; he might say something else more useful, though.
>>
>>24619488
Yeah I mean I kind of assumed the Yuat-Ja were one of those races who always wear combat armor unless otherwise specified, but I could be wrong.
>>
>>24619489
Also if we get called out on losing a plasma turret on planet we're in deep shit.
>>
>>24619517

We didn't lose them, they just got fucked up beyond words.
>>
>>24619512
They're very, very ritualistic. Walking into a room of matriarchs with all your weapons could be a very, very big no-no.

>>24619521
It got ripped out of its housing, its probably still intact enough that wey-yu could salvage
>>
>>24619452
>>B. Ask for advice on what you should say

You ask for advice on what you should say.

"I suspect you'll be asked to recount your mission. Do so. Add a bit of dramatic flair where needed. It'll put your actions, and by extension, the clan, in a better light.

"You'll be asked questions. If you even smell a hint of politics or anything to do with the clan, pass it over to the Matriarch.

"Aside from that, remember that in the end, our goal is to have the best interests of the Yautja Empire at heart, while many other clans will put their own interests first. They smell glory in this, Three-Claw, and they want to a piece of it. All we want is the threat eliminated, in the most practical fashion possible."

You thank him for the advice, and as him what you should wear.

"Full war gear. Leave that ceremonial garb at home. Put on your armor, grab your combi-stick, and put on your wrist-blades. You're a hunter; dress like it. Anyone who's NOT a matriarch tries to challenge you, stare him down. Now go, and prepare."

With that, he bids you farewell.

Do you:
A. Visit the Matriarch
B. Visit the archives
C. Visit the space port
D. Visit the armory
>>
>>24619527

"Ripped out of it's housing" doesn't mean "Not attached to the ship"

It just means that we can't fire it, it's just sorta dangling there, otherwise the Ship Mistress / Master would have already kicked our ass.
>>
>>24619533
>B. Visit the archives
>D. Visit the armory

In that order.
>>
>>24619533
A. Visit the Matriarch

We can gear up and get decked out before the meeting later. And the Librarian can we until after we talk to the matriarch
>>
>>24619533
B.
Are we still wearing our armor? If no, get to it, then B.

>Anyone who's NOT a matriarch tries to challenge you, stare him down.
Even if he's an Ancient?

Guys. Guys hear me out. What if the Thing exits in the Pred/Alien-verse. No, not the comic Thing. The THING thing. What if one of them landed on Pandora. Just imagine the fucking chaos.
>>
>>24619533
librarian-tan time
>>
>>24619561

It would probably get fucked, because the PLANET would hate it's guts.
>>
>>24619561
The Thing was a singular entity, right? As in, there's not more than one of it, and it can't spread itself, like the Xenos can.

And if it exists, our vision modes should pick it up.
>>
>>24619533
A, then B.
Business before pleasure.
>>
>>24619581

>Pleasure
>Predator mating

Haha no.

We are more in danger of dying from mating that bitch, that if we decided King Fis was a viable mate.

I just really want a three-way fight between The Thing, Xenos, and Preds. And I think it is off a species, it had a flying saucer. It was intelligent.
>>
>>24619547
>B. Visit the archives
You head over to the archives and is greeted by the female librarian-aide

"Ah, Three-claw," she gestures a greeting. "Good of you to return. What do you want?"

You answer:

A: "I have returned from Fey'lenn with data which I hope to enter into the Archives."

B. "I have gathered first hand data on Fey'lenn, and hope to look over it with you."

C. "I'm here about the mating offer."
>>
>>24619597

It had a saucer means nothing.

Could have just taken it from some other dumbass species.
>>
>>24619533
B. Visit the archives

Librarian time!

Dont spend too long on this though.
>>
>>24619600

This seems like it'll be like going to the movies, we won't actually get to look at any of the data.
>>
I actually preferred the armory chick.

B.
>>
>>24619602
from the aliens wikia (not Xeno aliens, just overall aliens)

>Each individual cell of the creature is both part of a singular multi-cellular lifeform and distinct, independent entity at the same time. Dual-functionality of the creature enables individual cells and/or collections of cells to function as separate organisms if necessary, which are invariably focused on one goal; assimilating and imitating other lifeforms

so while it may have assimilated whatever owned the ship, it itself can have multiple versions of it running around if it assimilates enough matter.
>>
>>24619600
B.
And with pride, head held high, will the Black Hunter appear before us, and we'll go with him as equals.

>B. "I have gathered first hand data on Fey'lenn, and hope to look over it with you."

She leads you over to a terminal and links it to your data slate. She quickly sifts through the data. She quickly flips through several screens, at a pace faster than your eye can follow, and comments, "This is very valuable. It's exactly the kind of information the archive is missing. You've done a good job with organizing it; very impressive. Not many males will take the time to do this. I will need some time to integrate this into our existing archives."

She scrolls to the section with the Pandoran Queen. She pauses. "This is a unique strain. I've not seen its like. The Pandoran creatures must have a very interesting genetic structure. I would very much like to get my hands on a sample."

Do you:

A: "I've got a specimen for you... once they scrape it off my ship."
B. "Would you like to study a specimen? Would it help you gain more insight into this new strain?"
C. Say nothing.
>>
>>24619647
It was also stated in the movie that if it hit the mainland the Thing would consume pretty much all life on earth... well, I forget the exact timeframe, but for a global extinction it was pretty damn quick.

Xenos might catch a break if they are so acidic that their bodies break down the Thing cells before they can infect them, but thats still a maybe.

She is excited. "You've bought one back? That would be excellent. I can catalogue the full genetic structure and perform a thorough analysis - it would be very valuable knowledge."

You tell her about your escapades with the Pandoran Queen. You tell her she'll be informed once the Queen's carcass has been recovered.

"You will need to tell me the whole story later," she replies. "This is good data, thank you. I'll need to prepare my surgical equipment now. Do let me know once the specimen is available."

With that, she bids you to leave.

>>
>>24619825
Ah, your greyscale is wonderful
>>
We should look into the fact some of the pandoran strains were able to see through our cloak. Most likely non vision senses, something to look into while dissecting the queen

>>24619886
>We need to upgrade to a better armor set first.
Define better? heavier armor would impede our movement.
