Actually, it could be a really good activity before/after the ceremony. Like, when the wedding ring arrives, some guests shout "captoor eet, fhor Kaaaay-hoss!" while showing their laspistols; some Guardmen then shoot them.
Hell, maybe the Guardmen arrived too late, and the heretics even achieved to take the ring. You could then give a lasgun/laspistol to some guests, and try to find the heretics who fleed! (well, this suppose a huge place, to organise the hunt, so, maybe not). After they are captured, put them in a cage of sort or tie them to stakes, near the other guests (so they can watch the ceremony too; of course, the cage/stakes have to be there BEFORE the actual beginning of the ceremony...).

Ho, and don't forget to free them after the end of the ceremony.
